MY FACE FEELS SO HYDRATED AND SOFT! I love this soap, I never knew my face could feel this soft without a moisturizer. I can admit I was a bit skeptical about using this on my face(I tend to breakout often when exposing the skin on my face to different products) but after the first use I notice a difference.
Not only with the smooth silky feeling I received after running my hand across, but my skin also looked brighter(not lighter). Almost as if my natural glow was coming through for the first time in months.
Definitely will repurchase. *Reason for the 4/5 stars is because of the itch I received with the first use. *.
I just love the benefits of black soap! I love the nice sent, rite along with the nice lather!!! Like other black soaps I used, I always had to wash the shower out right after due to the the soap turning the tub black! But this one doesn’t.
I use this as one of my fave washes also and is has my face feeling smooth clear and I’m getting my glow back!.
was a little hesitant to try a black soap but I’m happy I did. This left my skin feeling nourished, clean, moisturized and hydrated. Mild fragrance that’s not overpowering, this shea butter soap is definitely going on my list of favs.
It delivers a gentle, cleansing experience while naturally soothing troubled skin. Specially formulated with certified organic Shea Butter and natural ingredients known to promote healing of skin affected by symptoms of eczema and psoriasis.
Ok so I changed climates from a very humid state to a dry state and my once oily skin started peeling and cracking and I would exfoliate and the skin around my mouth and on my chin would not budge. It would feel smooth for less than an hour then the flakiness would return along with inflammation and itchiness.
And the more I exfoliated, the more my skin became irritated and the darker it became. So I did some Googling and found out it’s eczema. I’ve never had eczema in my life but due to changing climates, I developed it.
So I started using this and moisturizing my skin with pure Shea butter and my skin cleared up completely in about 3 months. Everybody commented on how great my skin was and how much I was literally glowing ✨ used this for 2 years and the eczema never returned and the dark spots cleared up.
I stopped using the Shea butter (thinking it was making my skin greasy but it wasn’t. The Shea butter was melting too much and separating so I wasn’t actually using it to the best of its ability) and started using this oil free acne moisturizer from Neutrogena.
Skin stayed oily so I decided to redo my whole entire skincare line and switched to this pure African black soap bar from Whole Foods. Been using that for about 2 months with no changes to my skin. Then my beautiful skin started breaking out like crazy and the eczema returned and so did the hyperpigmentation.
I thought it was something I was eating or not eating (I recently switched to a vegan diet). Thought I wasn’t drinking enough water even tho I drink 60 oz minimum everyday. Then it dawned on me. I had stopped using the Shea Moisture brand African black soap.
So I went out and bought some more. Shea Moisture has a lifelong customer because I will never stop using this. Here I was thinking “it must have stopped working” but it was working all along and keeping my eczema under control.

Alaffias Authentic African Black Soap Bar is likened to the home remedies of Togolese mamans. Its made from a centuries-old recipe of handcrafted fair trade and certified organic unrefined, “raw” shea butter and Orangutan-safe West African palm oil.

Suitable for any skin type, even the most sensitive. Sulfate-free.
This is my favorite black soap. It is authentic black soap (unrefined, soft, not dark black and hard), and has only the natural smell of black soap, no added fragrances. Many other similar products I’ve used that I would get at beauty supplies contain fragrances that always irritated my eczema.
This product does the opposite and actually helps soothe the eczema. My favorite soap, and I love that it is fair trade. I appreciate what Alaffia stands for as a company, and I appreciate amazing products like this that remain a staple in my routine.
My only complaint is that I can’t find this product in stores! But I am happy to order online because it is such a great product.
This soap is a miracle worker. Legit I have been dealing with acne from 5th grade to all of highschool. I tried so many face washes from clean and clear to proactive (which kinda helped with pimples but not everything else I had on my face) I heard the benefits of African black soap and I decided to give it a try.
Oh my gosh. 1 week already saw results. I have acne, acne scars, and a bunch of red stuff on my face. Because of this soap now my only problem is acne scars. I legit have no more pimples, and barely red stuff on my face.
Don’t question it, just buy it. And such a good price for something that a) works so well and b) lasts forever.
I have really sensitive skin with some hormonal acne. Saw this on Tiktok and had to give it a try. Works amazing, lathers really nice, and I can tell that its making my skin softer and I’m not having as many acne flair ups.

We loved the original one, but this one is hilarious that they’re trying to pass it off as a new and improved version. The ingredients changed considerably where they have taken away all the reasons I used to purchase this.
There’s more Phenoxyethanol than actual natural ingredients in here and it’s nearly at the top of the igredients list. Seriously? That’s so bad for babies! They have added other preservaties as well because that’s apparently we need to wash babies in nothing but preservaties with a hint of oil.
They have added Cocamidopropyl Betaine which can cause skin irritation if not immediatley washed off. Babies doen’t need this crap! Shea butter is now the only organic ingredient. SELL OUTS! I will never use this on my baby again and will discontinue using all their products since they have abandoned the bulk of their initial ideals.
Guess that’s what happens when bigger comapnies purchase these small businesses. They charge the same but put crappier ingredients in to line their pockets more.
My family uses this soap as body soap, also shampoo, and use on our dogs fur. YES. WE. DO. We mix with various Shea Moisture shampoo products to create the perfect product for each family members hair.
For example my daughter uses the Shea Moisture shampoo for thick curly hair but the shampoo itself leaves her hair a bit too greasy so she parts it with this Black Soap. The Shea Moisture miracle shampoo I use also leaves my hair with a texture I do not desire but I love the miracle shampoo smell so much, I add in this Black Soap and it makes the perfect concoction for my hair type and personal preference.
We have been using this soap for years and we love it for so many reasons. It’s my daily soap for my face in the mornings and evenings, it’s a body wash, AND shampoo (and pet shampoo). Works great on our Brussels Griffon pup—keeps his long hair looking and feeling really great.
Literally use it on our entire family! Please keep making this soap. I can’t even imagine what I’d have to endure to replace this product!! Thank you Shea Moisture! We love this soap in particular, but SO many of your products!.
Let’s start out by saying if I could give less than 1 star I would. I purchased shea moisture baby shampoo the night before last. I usually only use hello bello baby wash for my baby and have never had a problem.
The description on the shea moisture baby label is made to seem its for sensitive skin. After bath last night my baby woke up in a rash head to toe after using this product. After some research I learned I’m not the only mother who has bought this only to learn its harsh chemicalsbare causing severe rashes.
Please stop selling this. Or at least remove “for sensitive skin” off of the label or ” gentle enough for everday use”. I’m so disappointed and my poor baby is hurting. I’m not going to add photos for privacy reasons.

I love this product. Its the best thing I have put on my skin in years. I have suffered with acne and it is one of my skin concerns, but since using this soap, I am able to control my acne and it seems to be a thing of past.
When I first started it I did have a bit of an outbreak nothing major, but tiny whiteheads, but they settled down after a week of using this and since then my skin has been beautiful. It feels soft, much clearer and even old acne scars have faded.
And it is very affordable too and lasts a long time. My skin routine in the past used to be very costly with so many different products now I only use this, so from £30 to a couple of quid, its a win win.
This soap saved my skin. Over the past 2 years I have had extreme cystic acne, mainly on my cheeks. I’ve dished out well over $1,000 on every skincare line, product supplements under the sun for none of them to work.
A friend of mine recommended this soap to me and it cleared my acne in THREE WEEKS. I have severe scarring and it’s even helping with that too. This product is very drying so you need to go in with a good moisturizer after.
But I recommend this to anyone and everyone struggling with skin issues.
I use this soap, primarily, as a face wash because it provides a deep cleanse and leaves the skin clear and feeling refreshed. Being natural, it is devoid of harsh chemicals and annoying oils that do not rinse off and leave the skin tight and dry.
Dudu Osun contains natural ingredients, such as citrus juices, Aloe Vera and honey and is boosted with natural vitamins and the scent of Osun (Camwood extract). It is great for removing make-up, although I normally apply and rinse twice to ensure my mascara is removed completely.
I give this product a four-star rating instead of five because I have not found it to remove dark spots, as suggested by another user; or, it is a slow process, if it does. I love it, nonetheless!.
this is the only soap that I use to keep my skin tone smooth and even. It has a very nice but light fragrance. I first purchased it at a farmers market but now I normally purchase it on amazon. it normally runs 1.
00- 5. 00. I recommend this to all people of color.

I’ve known about African black soap for awhile now, but recently discovered Shae Moisture brand. I’ve been extremely pleased with this brand and actually was a little surprised how great everything I’ve tried from them has been! African black soap is WONDERFUL for problem skin such as, acne, dryness, psoriasis, itchy/extremely sensitive skin (which I have), etc.
I usually only use natural products on my skin because anything other then natural sourced ingredients will make me completely break out in rashes and irritate my skin for days. I decided to try this after switching from bar soap to bar soap of amazing brands and products I have loved for years, they just weren’t cutting it.
I now live in the Arizona desert, which not only being VERY exposed to the hot sun, it is ridiculously dry here. Never mind that, the water is EXTREMELY hard. All those factors alone; nothing was cutting it.
The FIRST DAY I used this I felt like I instantly had relief all over my body, almost like I let out a breath of stress. Weight lifted off. Within a couple days, redness, irritation and rashes all disappeared and cleared up.
I not only use it over my entire body but also use it as face soap too – keeps my face clean, looking great and I swear almost even toned like I just used a toner. The scent is really hard to describe, I personally don’t mind it at all.
If you have ever smelt a real African black soap – that’s exactly the scent. No different smelling then others I’ve tried in the past. What is even cooler is they have an entire African black soap line! Liquid wash, moisturizer, etc! It’s really hard to find all these pros in one soap for me and I found it!!! Even harder to find something that feels like it actually CLEANS your skin, leaves no residue behind BUT makes your skin baby soft and smooth.
THIS DOES!!!!!!! My all time favorite body soap. I recommend this over and over again and honestly do not have ONE negative comment about this soap! Since being so impressed with this soap – I’ve bought other products from this line and love them all.

Fantastically good. Get it, you won’t be sorry. Cleans without stripping or over washing (for oily skin). Good for dry and oily too. I plan to buy more. One tip though: Don’t leave it in a soap dish that doesn’t drain, or it will get gooey.
The ingredients are rich and creamy and prone to that if not properly aired out. I pressed a metal bottle cap into mine, and then let it hang from a strong magnet. Keeps it dry and it won’t turn to mush! Also, this soap smells great.
Not overbearing, and not too subtle either. GET IT, YOU’LL LOVE IT!!.
I normally use ayurvedic sandal soap but bought this one as an alternative. Very surprised at how well it works and smells and so close to the sandal soap. I like the fact that it has a little moisturizer in it.

I was tipped off by a friend that this stuff is excellent shaving soap. He was right, this is by far the best shaving soap I have ever used ! I have been shaving Double edge razor, with brush and shave cup for 48 years and have used probably 20 brands of soap ! (some costing as much as $15 a bar).
I had to cut the bar in half and soften in up a few seconds in the microwave to make it fit my shave cup, but I will tell you , I wish I had this soap decades ago ! This company is really missing the boat by not marketing this as a shaving product and making this soap in a shaving puck mold ! I am giving away all my shave soap to the homeless shelter, and using nothing but this from now on !.
The best soap ever. A clean, no residue but lathering, exfoliating, bar that I cannot get enough of. Anyone who recommends another over this well thats their opinion. I have these stacked in my cabinet they get used so frequently!! LOVE!!!.
