20 Best Soaking Tub Shower Combo (2023 Updated)

I was very impressed with the quality of this freestanding tub. It is a quality acrylic, holds heat, is plenty deep for a great soak and was easily installed. I will tell you that I had first ordered the “white” drain (not chrome) from a DIFFERENT vendor and the white pop up drain did not fit the first tub.

I went with them chrome pop up and overflow and have been very pleased. Shipping was great as well, tub arrived in perfect condition.

We love the tub and would give the product five stars. We took the review down to three stars, however, because delivery was so poor. Advertised as curbside, product was left on the street, despite my hundred pound wife asking for help.

Unacceptable during these times. Where is Chivalry these days?.

It’s a great huge tub, which is what I wanted. Things to change: the inclinaison of where you back lay on is too straight to be relaxing. I wish the pitch able would be less so u could lay more down.

After few months the system that let the water flow during a shower or stops the water for a bath becomes ineffective. It is made of a rubber seal that gets pushed down to retain the water but that rubber gets harder with time and doesn’t stitch anymore to the circonférence of the hole.

Bathtub is therefore leaking and I am unable to take a bath. Also it is a huge tub so also a big amount of water. Make sure your water heater tank has enough gallons to fill up the tub. Otherwise you might be left with a 1/2 full bathtub like mine and no more hot water!.

Looked high and low for just the right depth soaking tub without jets…wanted to just soak! This one fits the bill. Plus it has a good warranty. Nice and deep and the drain is top filling so you get even more water depth! It’s very comfortable too.

Definitely recommend! Only disappointment is the unneeded panel, but I bought super double sided tape and it’s hardly noticeable.

This is a really nice, really deep, wonderful soaking tub! However, I do have one small recommendation. The soaking tub version does not require an access panel, so I wish that panel had been eliminated.

Also, the tape on that tub panel was useless, and the panel kept falling off. Instead, I used some industrial strength Velcro tape, and now the panel stays tightly in place.

Assembled in 3 hours, connected in half an hour by the plumber. Arrived a day late, but it is understandable. The package is large and the couriers struggle to transport such a bulky pallet, despite this it arrived intact.

I bought this tub in August 2021 and tried it for 3 months before doing the review, I must say it amazed me, it works very well and is very solid. I recommend to everyone

What to say? Tub more beautiful than it is in the photo. In the bathroom it is huge and fits really well in the corner. Also when you are inside it feels like being in a SPA.

With the help of a plumber friend, I installed this bathtub in a steel stud frame I built myself. The tub is very heavy, and the two of us were barely able to maneuver it into the frame. Using drain and overflow piping I also bought from Build.

com, my friend hooked up the drain and overflow piping then left me with instructions to conduct a leak test by filling the bathtub completely full of water, including to the overflow outlet, to make sure the whirlpool hoses and all fittings were water tight.

I did as he instructed and it was a good thing I did. The overflow piping connection to the tube overflow orifice leaked profusely! Looking more closely at the provided installation instructions, I saw that a silicon seal was recommended at the joint between the tub and piping fittings.

I asked my plumber friend about that. He said normally he didn’t do that on tub installations as the gasket provided usually made for a water tight seal. Not this time. After disassembly and reassembly of the joint with application of a liberal amount of silicon sealant, I conducted another test.

No leaks anywhere! I’ve yet to use the tub as I’m still building out the rest of the bathroom, so can’t comment on the other aspects of the tub except to suggest you be sure to get a faucet that delivers a high flow of water intended to fill a large bathtub in a reasonable amount of time.

Also, I recommend you use deck mud or a similar supporting material under the tub to give the fiberglass/acrylic floor some additional support to forestall future cracking from the fatigue stress of repeated concentrated foot pressure.

We’ve been very pleased other this tub and really appreciate the extra depth. It’s also quieter than other whirlpool tubs we’ve had in the past. The only drawback it has is the pop-up stopper. The spring mechanism loses its adjustment over time, making the stem taller and preventing the stopper from sealing tightly.

I have to pull it out and tighten the spring preload every month or so.

Installed this in my bathroom and the wife and daughter love it! They’ve used the tub more in the last 6 months than in the first 25 years we lived in this house with the previous tub. Solid construction, well made.

Two minor issues, the “feet” were not trimmed off the same length so I had to compensate for that during installation. The overflow drain hole had to be modified to accommodate the ClearFlo drain (also a Kohler product) but that was mostly the drain’s issue.

I wrapped the tub prior to installation with HVAV duct insulation and it did wonders for helping the water stay warmer longer. As said before, the “pillow” is worthless – hard, and completely uncomfortable.

Kohler does themselves no favors by including it.

Love at first soak. Wonderfull engineered design and well constructed. At first you think that the molded-in arm rests are just to strengthen the sidewalls of the tub, but first time in for a soak you realize that without them you are going to have difficulty adjusting your position or exiting the tub.

The added depth is perfect for allowing my 6′ 2″ height to be easily accommodated. The finish is excellent and should give great service life. I felt that the “pillow” that comes with the tub could be improved.

It is a beautiful tub that is a stunning accent piece to my bathroom. It is lightweight, and slides a bit, but it is not something that creates too much of an issue. What I really like is how comfortable it is! I like to spend time lounging in the bathtub and this tub lets me relax while sitting a little upright to read or enjoy the view from my tub.

I just bought this tub and I absolutely love it! fills up quick, water flow is great and drains quickly. Plus its a beautiful centerpiece to my newly remodeled bathroom!

As tall people we enjoy being able to actually rest our head on the back of the tub without our knees getting cold. It’s so relaxing. Such a beautiful tub.

terrible product! we ordered 3 tuns and all 3 came with the drain hole off centered which would not allow the draing to mount with a proper seal to avoid leaks! after 3 tubs with the same problem we had to change brand which was extremely unfortunate because all the plumbing and tub area was built to fit this tub.

It was a total disaster, besides the delay and annoyance of having to wait for refund to come thru! and on top of everything i realized I was not reimbursed shipping costs!.

This is an amazing tub, and great value at that. And Kohler is one of the only manufacturers who offers an array of colors, for anyone loathe to have everything in their bathroom be shiny white, like I am.

“Thunder Grey” perfectly complemented my tile and paint colors, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the tub’s appearance and operation. It was the perfect size I needed to maximize my available space, while still fitting.

And the cost was significantly less than the other (lesser-known) brands that I was considering. So this was a no-brainer, and eFaucets was able to have this tub at my door in but 8 days, which was two weeks faster than other places were quoting me — thank you!! Potential buyers should note that this tub requires a GFCI on a dedicated 15-amp circuit to be installed close to the blower motor.

(Another advantage of this tub is that it only requires 120v, whereas the higher-end models require 220v. ) Also, anyone purchasing this tub should know that there is one error and one confusing section in the manual that Kohler admitted to me when I called them about it: 1) Contrary to what is stated in the manual, there is no separate grounding wire needed (or supplied) with this model, because the blower motor cover is plastic, not metal, and 2) There is no hard wiring that needs to be done to the junction box (the diagram that appears in the US section of the instructions is really for the Canada section below it) — one simply needs to plug in the supplied plug into the aforementioned GFCI outlet, and you’re ready to relax in a luxurious bubblemassage bath!.

Bought this freestanding tub for my new construction master bathroom. Loved the price, but was hesitant to order not knowing if it was a solid tub or had that hollow, flimsy feel usually associated with cheaper, inferior products.

Let me tell you that I was pleasantly surprised how well this tub is constructed. Not only is it sold, but the style is a perfect compliment to my semi traditional / semi contemporary master bathroom.

Also, many of the cheaper freestanding tubs do not allow a choice in the finish of the overflow / drain. I ordered mine with the oil rubbed bronze filler / drain as all of my faucet, towel holder, shower finishes are in oil rubbed bronze.

I’m so excited to get this tub installed and have a nice soak once my construction is complete. Strongly recommend this tub and my experience with Build. com!.

I love this tub!! However I have had it only 2 years and the surface is getting a bubble. Like the acrylic is bad. Please help. what should I do? Its about a quarter in size where the seat bends into the floor.

This surface has not been cleaned with harsh chemicals. I did not drop anything hot on the bottom. I only weigh 130 pounds. I am the only one who has ever used it. Are there repair kits? I am broken hearted.

Its not even in a spot where you stand or sit ugh.

Overall, I LOVE this tub. We were looking for a deep freestanding soaking tub with a flat edge so it could be pushed up against the wall (saves us cleaning behind the tub like a normal freestanding would require!).

We have the 67″ tub; I am 5’5″ and can fully stretch out in it, and two people can fit in it as well. The reason I took one star off is that this tub is not MA approved (not on the list of approved plumbing fixtures allowed for use in the state of MA).

It was a MAJOR headache to get this tub approved so that it would pass the local plumbing inspection – I bought the tub before I was aware of MA plumbing requirements, andI had to apply for a plumbing variance with my local city and then with the state of MA.

Luckily I was given the variance, but it was a big pain and wasted a lot of time. However, Signature Hardware had great customer service and were easy to work with while I resolved the variance issue.

My only wish is that they would say that their products are not MA approved on the website and would flag this to MA shipping addresses. We drilled the overflow hole ourselves (required by MA) – I didn’t realize it was not standard on this tub, so make sure to specify this when you order.

Very happy with purchase. No issues from initial purchase to delivery. Very good quality and works well. Only disappointment was no hard paper copy of installation instructions and user operations manual.

Luckily found on manufacturers website but much would rather have hard paper copies of all applicable manuals included with tub.

The product is falsely advertised. It shows as a standalone tub with finished sides. In truth it only has 2 finished sides. The price is reasonable, but the pictures and description should be better.

To all future buyers, Keep in mind that models differ in whether they have inward- or outward-swinging doors to suit different spaces. You may need to plan around a sink, toilet, or other items. Keep that in mind.

Quality product and easy to install. Arrived on time and well packaged. This is the 2nd Sterling tub I’ve purchased and installed. I highly recommend them! Good customer service as well.

This tub always looks dirty. I loved the shape and size but it is the only thing in my house I hate. I rub and rub and it does not come clean. What can I do.

Because of damage during shipping I had to order 4 of these tubs to get the 3 I needed. Every tub was chipped along the bottom edge in exactly the same place. Because the finish flooring will hide these chips I opted not to return the tubs, which is a time consuming hassle – I already had to do that once and it held up the whole job for weeks.

Kohler/Sterling does not pack these tubs carefully enough. In addition, the bottom of the tub is supported by a number of little plastic pegs, which are a part of the bottom of the tub. These are not finished well and keep the tub from sitting solidly on the sub floor until you file off all the plastic which the mold leaves on the end of the pegs.

We bought this tub being told it is bigger than the standard old tubs. We were told it is much deeper than the standard tub. It looks very nice but the tub space is so narrow it’s impossible to raise your arms to the side to wash your hair when facing the shower head.

Our daughter feels claustrophobic in it, because it’s so narrow. It’s installed and has tile around it already. We’re all very upset and disappointed that we now have a smaller shower/bath. I wish we were explained that it is deeper but MUCH narrower.

Perfect. If you follow the instructions and put tub on bed of morter, then it is solid as rock. Read and follow the insructions. If your installer won’t do that, then get a different installer. I’m a big guy, almost 300 lbs and tubs that move are more than annoying.

I replaced a shower last year and it is also perfect. In addition after letting the morter set up for 3 days, I got ready to put up the drywall around the tub and noticed the tub against the insulated outside wall was cold and a draft was coming up from the basement, so I got several cans of Great Stuff and put 2 between the tub and outside wall and end of tub and wall.

That warmed up the tub and firmed up the sides. Then I took the 3rd can and took it to the basement and emptied it into the space between the tub and the front skirt of the tub and some between the tub drain hole in the floor and the tub where the morter didnt reach.

Perfectly stable tub now.

I was a bit skeptical about the internal bathing depth of this tub from the bottom up , from the seat up. But finally the dimensions from the bottom up is 30 inches and from the seat up is 16 inches.

finally it was all good and perfect for my size super happy and destressed after mesuring it. aha.

Tub cracked in just shy of 3 years. I bought it thinking Kohler had quality with their products. My grandson was taking a bath and water started coming through the ceiling downstairs. There is a large crack on the side wall without any reason whatsoever.

I pd over 800$ for this tub. It only has a 1 year warranty. I took care of this tub. How could it crack just from a child bathing? This tub is no better than a plastic swimming pool. Buyer Beware!.

Being an architect and designer, I would never recommend using this product and would rate this less then 0 if I could. Warning about using this tub, read other reviews. This tub cracked because It is made poorly.

Kohler is a reputable company and should pull this tub off the market. Build. com was very sympathetic and helpful in rectifying the situation.

THIS TUB HAS NEVER BEEN USED. IT HAS A DARK RING, APPROXIMATELY THREE INCHES, PERFECTLY AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB AND UP THE CORNERS, AS IF IT IS DIRTY!! BUILD. COM HAS TOLD ME, AN INSPECTOR WILL CALL ME, FOR AN APPOINTMENT, TO INSPECT THIS DEFECT.

BUILD. COM, HOWEVER HAS BEEN GREAT, AND,THIS IS OBVIOUSLY, A KOHLER DEFECT. HOPEFULLY, I WILL HEAR FROM THE INSPECTOR SOON!!!!.

Hand down THE BEST tub I’ve ever owned AND been in. It’s long enough for 2 grown adults (average size) and deep enough to soak entire adult body. Very modern and elegant looking.

Hard to rate completely, as item is not yet installed, but just looking at it in the garage, it is as described, very well packaged, and while not the least expensive stand alone out there, had deeper soaking dimensions and the tap deck which were factors high on my list.

My contractor was also happy with it, so two thumbs up!.

Looks nice. Quality isn’t great. When you stand inside or get in and out it makes cracking noises. So far has not cracked.

My daughter insisted that I buy a tub deep enough so that my body is completely immersed. Well this one fits the bill! My plumber found the tub easy to install and I love the modern, european look. A keeper!.
