20 Best Snowboard Bindings For Park (2023 Updated)

I’ve put 1. 5 years on these so far and I’m really stoked about them. I’m in and out of my bindings in a flash and the performance is great. I will say the ratchets could be better. They should just use the “regular” ratchets from the Nidecker binding line-up.

Nevertheless, the beauty of Flows is you don’t really use the ratchets since the straps are designed to be “set it and forget it. ” One thing you need to be aware of is the highback dial has tendency to loosen up.

The dial can turn when the highback is reclined – presumably from dragging on the snow. There is a simple solution – electrical tape. (See Pic) I used a layer of grafters tape then electrical tape to keep the sticky stuff off my bindings.

Now the dial stays in place. I’ve owned several Flows over the years and they’ve really upped their game with the Active Strap Tech. Now the bindings are super easy and fast to get in and out of. In addition, the power triangle and fusion strap increase edge-to-edge performance over traditional binding designs.

So with Flows entry is easier/faster and performance is better. These are also super adjustable, but a tad more complicated than other bindings. The design doesn’t allow for highback rotation, however the power triangle/cable more than makes up for any performance you would gain with highback rotation.

Edge-to-edge performance is awesome – great for carving. The binding is really damp, so great for plowing thru tracked out snow, mogul runs or landing jumps. There is enough lateral movement/flex to tweak your jumps.

I highly recommend these bindings.

I have ridden flow bindings since they first started making bindings (yes I am old), I have now had 10 different versions/models, all with the same type of rear entry and I wouldn’t use any other type.

The bindings do take a second set up properly and if you don’t take the time, then your riding experience is going to be great. If you do take the time to get the highback to sit flush with the boot and adjust the straps so the boot slides in and out with the minimum of resistance but with the greatest amount of support with out loosing feeling in your toes, these bindings are going to respond quicker edge to edge than probably anything else you ever ridden.

They are stiff by nature needing to hold their shape for entry, and provide a lot of support toeside, heelside, and laterally. When adjusted correctly, they provide a very locked down and supportive feel.

These are the lightest version of flow bindings, but nothing is lost by the weight saving. The soft cushion foam footbed takes some of the jarring out of landings and yet you don’t loose any feeling from the board.

Are they as light as a Union Flite, no, but they are also made to last longer than one season. They are simple to use, quick to lock in and you don’t need any type of special boots. I ride thirty-two’s and they fit just fine.

Highly recommended.

I really, really wanted to like these bindings. I live in the midwest and mostly ride groomer and park laps at the resorts around Michigan except for a couple trips out west each season when I can fit them in.

The short midwest runs made the idea of this binding’s “easy in-and-out” one of the key reasons why I chose the Flow Fenix. I would say that switching to this binding dramatically increased the time I spent at the top of each run getting my right foot strapped back in.

The only way you can get your boot into the binding and the highback locked back into place is by loosening the straps, which defeats the purpose of the rear entry. There’s plastic in front of both ratchets making it hard to adjust either of them with gloves on, and the fact that they’re attached to the same piece of webbing makes it hard to insert the strap back into the ratchet if you allow it to come out.

All of this was very frustrating, but I still wanted to chalk it up to the bindings needing to be broken in a bit more, allowing the straps to stretch out a bit, etc. Then while strapping in for one of my first runs of the day, the cable that holds the highback in place snapped off, leaving the highback just kind of dangling there limply.

I went to my van and swapped back to my Union Contact Pro’s and will never look back. Now the process of getting a replacement cable kit from Flow so I can sell these bindings begins.

I love the design of these bindings but I do not love how they work. I am not a fan of the front band that goes over your toes (on my old bindings the front band went across my instep). Also, the front bands get loose as you go down the mountain, I had to adjust them after each run.

I like to step in to my board ( not sit down to put my foot in) and it is hard with this type of front band because it is always in your way, you have to go under the band with tip of your boot, lift the band up and then step down into the bindings.

Which brings me to another thing. I am not sure if it is because I do have a big size of the boots ( US Women 10) but the boot gets very tight in the heel part of the bindings. I am used to loosening up the bands and easily stepping out of the bindings but it is impossible for me with this type of bindings because even after I loosen up the bands the boot is still firmly fixated in the back of the binding.

So I had to remember and hold the back of the bindings with my hand and step out. It is very stylish and pretty but thats about it for me. I am already thinking of switching to a simplier type of bindings.

My favorite part of this binding is the auto canting, and the injection molded straps. Being a human with a high in-step it is a constant battle to keep my feet from falling asleep while riding. The strap on these bindings was a game changer for me.

It works to evenly distribute the pressure, allowing more blood flow to my feet. The auto cant helps the footbed adjust to your body’s back and knees allowing for better body alignment while riding. They are the perfect responsiveness for me- intermediate all mountain rider.

I had a chance to demo these and immediately bought them afterward. I can’t say enough good things about these bindings.

Was using the Cartel together with the 2021 SLX Boot which has some „backstay“ nups on the Heel and backside providing grip so that the Boot is not moving or slipping out the binding. Unfortunately, the nubs are that rough that the immediately ripped off the cushioning pad of the Highback on the 2nd day.

Opened a warranty request to get new Highbacks because I have no grip in the binding anymore – Burton said it is normal wear and that I did use the binding incorrectly. Don‘t know how that should work by just stepping in in a normal way and tightening the straps properly but ok.

Fine if the Boots have some grip on the heels to not slip around but then the Highbacks should be resistant enough to match to the boots and not be ripped completely on the 2nd day. Not really high quality, durable goods :(((.

I found these bindings to be stiffer and more responsive than the medium flex rating would suggest. The highback and ankle strap are on the stiffer side of medium but the aluminum baseplate is incredibly stiff and transfers power from edge to edge immediately.

They have the standard adjustments you’ll find on most bindings while leaving out any frills; definitely enough to get your boot fit dialed in. My biggest gripe was that I didn’t find them very comfortable, however I’m someone who likes to crank down my straps to the max.

The stiffer ankle strap caused some pressure points that I haven’t felt with other bindings and the toe strap began deforming the toe of my boot. The ratchets can also be sticky when cranked down and under tension.

This was all solved by backing off the straps a few clicks but it’s worth noting.

First time trying an all aluminum binding. The straps are comfortable. They conform to your boot and forget they’re there. I love how adjustable everything is. The straps are tool-less adjustment and the heel-cup slides in and out, making it easy to get your boot centered.

The aluminum chassis is responsive and quick edge to edge. The rolled edges at the heel make buttering easy and the mini-disk gives great board control and flex. The footbed is well cushioned, which helps absorb vibrations and chatter, and is canted 2.

5 degrees, making them even more comfortable. The highback has a lot of torsional flex, but is more rigid front to back. Overall a very responsive and comfortable binding.

I love the Ride A-10 bindings. Ride returns to their former “best-bindings on the market” glory, with the A-10s. Revamping their aluminum heel cup/baseplate and carbon fiber highback formula, not since ridding their “Mig” line have I experienced such responsiveness.

Sadly it seems like 99% of the new infant/upstart companies only deal in cheap plastics, for beginners or park-minded customers. Ride A-10s are perfect for the “old school”, the freeriding, or the snow surfers.

Shame on Team Burton. I posted feedback on Burton’s website, where I provided my honest feedback (4 stars was given). Burton filters/controls everything, as such mine was not posted, even after I verified it via my email, as what they asked.

I followed up and no answers. I seriously do not think I gave any bias/bad review about this, but very honest opinion. Seems like Burton chose to release the good ones and block out the ones involves the second thoughts.

Really?! Here is what I remembered – “ I purchased the flex step on boots and binding, since I was due for a new pair of boots. Binding is super easy, just clip on and go, and I’ve never popped out once.

However, it requires a solid surface to click the heel twice. On pow day, it is harder to make the 2nd heel click. Step on boots are surprisingly stiff and hurt my calf and pinky toes for the first 2 times.

The Boa lace comes loss too easy and I have to tight the lace after every single run. For a longer run, I often have to stop at the half way to tight up the Boa. I used to have the traditional lace, and this is my first Boa, so not sure if this is the general issue across the board.

I personally prefer to have a snug fit on boot. Binding is responsive and I have no problem on green and blue runs. But I found myself struggled making the quicker turns on steeper terrains, such as double blue and black.

I once caught my heel edge when I was on my toe side and in the middle of transition to heel side. This has never happened to me before. For me, I have no problem bending down and strap in, and I stand up to do so.

Since my body is learned the traditional strap in and muscle memory are used to it. I switched back to straps. I think this would be great for someone who is new, you can learn and grow on step on. Or someone who has issues bending and straps.

” To add on, I noticed when I stepped on, and try to turn the board, the back of the binding comes up first (I have it forward lean setting at F4), then the board starts to twist. Maybe that’s the “delay”.

Yes, I returned those, and went back to the traditional way. I prefer to have better control over convenience. Burton has great products, but surprised how much filter it involves.

This is the most versatile binding I have ever owned. Super stoked evo had these in stock and that they have a wide selection of switchback bindings. This binding does really well in the park and is super easy to get in and out of.

The straps never get stuck and are very durable. Also you can remove the highback on any switchback binding which is a game changer in the POW!!! I will never buy another brand of bindings because switchback’s can do everything.

I am just a recreational rider. A good friend of mine recommended the switchback brand. He’s a much better snowboarder than I. Anyways after having a great brand I chose the ones that most appealed to my eye.

The switchback twin fit perfectly, and are responsive enough that I feel I have some flex. My only beef is I wish there was a toe cap. I will recommend and I will buy more switchback bindings.

Flows are by far my favorite bindings. This is the 2nd pair I’ve purchased and the newer models are amazing. The extra cushiony footpad adds comfort I never knew I needed! Be patient if you’ve never tried rear-entry bindings before.

It really takes the right setting to be able to easily slip your foot in and out, and it’s so hard to get over the “strap in tight” mindset you’ve been accustomed to with regular bindings. NOT that you aren’t strapped in securely, but the way these are designed, you don’t need to cut off the circulation in your feet for a secure fit.

If you’re frustrated, keep adjusting until you find the magic fit. You won’t regret it, and once it’s set and dialed in, you’ll be in and out of your bindings in a snap!.

It is a great idea to have a rear opening and slip in system. However, the top straps and bottoms pad are sticky/non-slip and therefore slipping into the binding is not possible by opening the rear only.

I have to loosen the main top strap and at times the toe strap too in order to get into these bindings which I didn’t expect. Once on and riding they work wonderfully though.

Really beautiful lilac color. Even prettier in person! Took these out for a week and use them with a pair of vans snowboard boots. They worked perfectly, no issues at all. Simple design.

Built sturdy and flexible! Woman’s boots fit perfect in them! Able to adjust them the way you want and very comfortable! Absolutely love these! 🙂

Love the feel of these bindings. Easy to strap in and adjust! Don’t have a tool for adjustments? No worries! They have a cap over the screws on the straps to make adjusting the straps easy

Got it for the lady. Great entry level rear entry binding. The only significant drawback is that the forward lean is only adjustable by 1 notch and not in fine, granular adjustments like other brands of rear entry binding.

But this is an entry model and as such, satisfies all the requirements well. Came shipped with 4 extra toe straps, 1 leash, 1 stomp pad, screws and also screws for channel system. Definitely good for beginners so they won’t spend all their time strapping and unstrapping.

They should be focus on not falling and stability, haha.

I’m halfway through my third season with these bindings and I couldn’t be happier with them. The toe strap folds out of the way so they’re super fast and easy to put on. Even after riding in them for almost three seasons at least 3 times a week the ratchets still work perfectly and I don’t feel any discomfort from pressure points because the fit is extremely adjustable.

I think these bindings are fantastic, especially for the price.

with my first purchase of a snowboard and bindings I opted to try these HEAD NX One bindings. As a beginner snowboarder this bindings work great. they have a hinged design on the toe strap that lets the straps hang out wide so you can step right into the bindings without and issues.

They also designed to be used in a traditional style of binding or as a toe cap, Ive been using it like a toe cap and it has need solid!.

I’m a fairly aggressive rider who likes to go fast in all conditions. I wear a size 9 women’s boot, and the Medium binding fit well. I would say any bigger size boot might want to size up. These bindings were very comfortable and were fairly responsive.

I’d rate them very high in shock absorption. They aren’t the stiffest bindings out there, so I’d say they would be best suited for an intermediate rider or a park rider over an advanced freeride based rider.

Overall I’d recommend them!.

Great binding, the back is nice and flexible with a great medium height for a truly all around comfortable and controlled feeling. No snow yet but I put these on my snowboard addiction board and they feel truly great.

I can’t wait to use them this winter. It’s a good change coming from Union Bindings.

Feedback on this is nothing but 5 stars. Softer highback torsionally allows for max tweekage. The skate tech kills it all mnt giving leverage to the edge with less energy.

The bindings are top quality. I liked that they were easy to get in and out of. Once clicked in I felt more connected to the board than I ever have in strap-in bindings. Clicking in is easy and fast and I didn’t have to spen time sat on the snow, just come off the lift, click, secure and go.

A must if your a more mature boarder like me and don’t want to spend time sat ratcheting strap up while you ski companion has set off Dow the mountain. Once you have a pair of clickers you will wonder why they even sell strap-in bindings any more.

This is my second pair of the K2 Cinch as the foot bed on my first pair broke at the end of last season. The bindings are great, and offer good stability with a rear entry option, but the foam footbed doesn’t seem particularly well attached.

I have large feet and really prefer the rear entry option for snowboarding so there just aren’t many other options out there. Would still recommend.

My wife and I both bought a pair. We’re lifetime Union riders, I’ve toured a few times before and she’s just getting into touring. First, for the price these bindings are a great value, they come with the parts to setup pucks on a splitboard and a normal board, and some extra parts; unlike other touring bindings where you have to buy all that separate.

Second, setup is so refreshingly simple and intuitive compared to normal splitboard pucks and bindings. They are built just like normal Unions so adjustment to your boot is normal and easy, and you know they will be bombproof like Unions always are.

The heel riser seems easy to engage and disengage, and the height is in between systems with dual height risers, which I think is perfect. Transitions are very quick and easy, honestly this rotating motion seems way easier than sliding onto the pucks.

Lastly, I was skeptical of the Union pin system, but after setting them up I have full confidence in it. In touring mode the pin locks into place and would be pretty hard to disengage with your boot in the binding.

In skiing mode the pin also has a locking position that is so tight my only concern is being able to unlock the pin with cold fingers! (Pulling on the string seems to make it easier). I will update this review after we use them a few times next season, but my first impression is to buy a pair, especially if they’re on sale.

Got a new Burton Custom board after 20 years or riding my Ride Timeless. i thought it would last forever until I went to the mountain after a few year break and saw that everything i had was so obsolete and out of style that i have to upgrade.

I know Burton has one or two bindings steps higher than these Malavita’s but none had any good colors. they all looked Blah. these things look sweet on the Custom and unless your a pro i don’t think anyone can tell how the better ones would be better.

these things are awesome. I can’t see how anything can be better. But neverminded that, this Peter Glen place rules!!!!! I bought both the board and bindings from here. I was expecting weeks or at least a week to get the stuff.

And no time for that during late winter. I need is quick. Got both things in Two days. they got both out same day(i did order one day after the other). I’m in Mass. and they have everything here. this is my new snowboard store*****.

This is a fabulous binding, and I’m really impressed with the quality and how smooth and easy the binding buckles are to remove. I have top of the line Ride bindings that were on my board, and the buckles would always catch.

Now after years of use, they’re almost impossible to undo. super sticky and uncooperative. I was referred to the Burton bindings by several board sports stores, as the ultimate easy bindings that most people rave about, and they steered me in the right direction or sure.

Love these!.

I love the toe strap design and the fact that all adjustments are easy to do on the mountain and even with gloves on in some instances. The bummer for me was that they aren’t really compatible with my old boots.

I run a set of Burtans from a few years back and they are too flexible in the toe to handle this type of binding. When I tighten these down all the way to my expectation, they pinch the toe and never really lock my foot in.

I have fiddled with it a ton never found a way around it so I’m looking to upgrade boots now to something lighter and more stiff.

I immediately put the soft bushings on and the bindings themselves have really nice support while still having a lot of playfulness. Tooless adjustable ankle and toe straps are a must have although my unions seem to have a slightly better design on the toe with a pin that helps keep everything together.

Overall very happy and I’m going to put the extra backless heelcups on my Jones Mercurys that live on my orca for a very steezy look.

Now bindings have been in the game quite a while now and their technology is definitely unique. I really enjoyed this binding. Comfortable and responsive, which is all anyone really needs. Get some!

Officially the best bindings I own. The canted footbeds, the straps, the responsiveness without being painfully stiff. I also ride unions stratas and burton malas and they don’t come close to the performance I got out of these today.

I’ve been snowboarding a few times each season for 20+ years and these bindings are a game changer for me. I’m in my mid-40s and was starting to question how much longer I’d be able to snowboard but the ease of getting in and out of these step on bindings made a huge difference.

Now I just stomp my foot down to get in or pull a lever and twist my foot to get out. I was also worried about how they would hold up, I’m a big guy (6’6 285lbs) and they felt better than the strap-on bindings.

No hot spots or constantly re-tightening or loosening straps and they didn’t feel loose or overly flexible and didn’t once come loose or come unsnapped even through a couple crashes. Now, I’m not doing jumps or tricks and I didn’t try them in 12″ of fresh powder, but given my weight and the size of my board, I get going faster than just about anyone on the mountain and these held up great.

I also got the Burton Photon Wide Step-on Boots (the ones with the strap) and those were great. Lastly, make sure you pay attention to the size of the binding, since they’re designed to work with a specific size range of boots with no overlap.

I almost ordered an XL out of habit and thankfully saw someone reference the size chart and ordered a L to go with my size 13 boots.

I have been riding Clickers for 25 years. Have not had them on the snow but dry land tests look promising, Very easy to get in and out. Hopefully the reason I switched (ice jammed cleat entry) will not be an issue with these.

The clicks were very solid so will see about durability. Doubt these will go 25 years but hopefully at least 10. It really came down to boot quality and K2 make garbage boots. My Compasses started falling apart in just 10 days.

50 and they are trashed with my 15yr old Rides in better shape.

I agree 100% with Scott H’s review. These bindings are a game changer. My groms (8 & 11) are now avid snowboarders. My old burton floater had some aged Burton rachet bindings. After trying to keep up with them last year, I decided it was time to invest in these step-ons.

Yes, they DO take some getting used to but they are awesome. It takes some practice but I have been able to stomp into the back binding as I ride off of the lift. it’s pretty schweet. GIVE THEM A TRY.

These are decent quality bindings. Although they are all plastic (like most other bindings now) they still perform well. I would give these a flex rating of 6. 5. They are very minimalistic as far as design and quality, but like I said before, their performance is still very good.

They are still responsive with the medium stiff flex rating. Ratchets are only part of product that could use improvement (lower quality). I don’t know if purchase them again, but overall these bindings are a STEAL for the price.

So buying them off-season doesn’t give me a whole lot to go on but they look and feel solid. Ratcheting system appears sturdy they have a good toe strap. Appears to be a great price for what you get.

Overall good bindings for the price. Nice response and pretty comfortable. Only complaint being the straps could be a bit smoother, but good purchase overall
