I haven’t had a chance to take these into the snow yet, but they look amazing. The binding system is without a doubt the easiest out there. Pull up on the knob and the binding releases. Put your boot in and rotate the dial to crank it down.

The metal gripping on the sides along with the middle gripper looks plenty sufficient for any uphill or downhill and it has a heel lift for sustained hills.

I’m a very new snowshoer and wanted a good starter kit that I wouldn’t feel like I needed to upgrade in 6 months. I rented the Tubbs Frontier before buying this set and I didn’t notice a difference in quality between the higher end Frontier and the entry level Xplore, which I ended up going with.

The only minor nit I have is that the straps around your heels don’t like to stay in place, but that doesn’t really matter, the straps are still secure. I haven’t tried the gaiters yet. The poles worked very well for me and were easy to adjust to the right height.

They changed the way it was made. This size 10 should fit a little more loose on my foot. I’ve had these before in a 10 and a 9. ended up giving the 9 away. The 10 lasted three years before the rubber separated and my feet got wet.

I used them late fall, winter and early spring. I wore them a lot. Really liked them. These seem more stuff and tighter. I’ll remove bottom cushion and replace with something less thick. That should work.

These are not for work. I just use them for mail box, dog walking, shopping and other errands. These are not meant to replace my winter work boots or for snowblowing. You could wear them to the office.

As long as the snow is not to deep. They will keep your feet dry and warm. They are not light weight. So a good overall winter/foul weather shoe.

They are just OK. They are going to require a break in period. They do not slip on easily. I found that I need a shoe horn to put them on. Hopefully that won’t be necessary as they break in. The 200 grams of thinsulate in them does keep your feet warm.

I am wearing them only around my house right now in case I have to return them. I will say this they are very smart looking. As I get older I prefer slip on shoes over tie shoes. Back issues prevents me comfortably bending over to tie shoes.

Overall I really want to like these shoes as winter approaches us ALL in God forsaken Michigan. I hope they will become my all time favorites for winter trekking.

I bought the men’s size 9. I wear a women’s 10 in most shoes. They fit just right with a thicker pair of socks. I would guess these would be too snug with a thick sock if you were buying for an actual men’s 9.

I would size up. I am very pleased with the quality, price, online shopping ease and shipping promptness! And now do I dare say, “Let it snow”.

Just as described. You can find product reviews for these boots online which is why I bought these. I expect them to last for many years and I know they’ll keep my feet warm in sub zero temps.

These boots run a whole size larger and will need to be returned. Even with heavy socks my sons couldn’t make them work.

I have used 5 times so far, from icy flat trails to off trail powder in woods up and down hills. The grip is excellent and the flotation is excellent—I am about 160 with clothes and gear. The ratchet on and ratchet off front two straps is excellent and makes adjusting them on and off quick and easy, even on the coldest days, with temps just below zero here.

That is a big upgrade for me from snowshoes I used 10-15 years ago. It did take a short time to figure out those ratchets, and I did not have them on correctly at first—perhaps some directions might have been helpful if included in the package.

The only thing average about these is the rear strap, which has a buckle with a protruding knob to fit into the selected hole along the strap to tighten it, and then releasing the buckle and pulling out the strap with your hand to loosen.

A ratchet system, similar to the from two straps, on this rear strap might have been easier and allow for greater precision in tightening than getting the optimal hole in the current system, as well as ease of loosening at the end of the day.

All in all, excellent snowshoes and I am very happy with the product and the advice I got from Wildhorn about sizing prior to purchase. My wife had already bought a different brand, and hers are not any better but cost quite a bit more.

We waited til trying out our snowshoes a couple of times before reviewing. So far, we love them. The only drawbacks we experienced were: 1). My wife found that the Sawtooth shoes were a little too wide for her.

2). I found that the Delano crampons had a tendency to gather clumps of hardened snow that had to be removed from time to time. I wish I’d gotten the Delanos for my wife since they are narrower. But, all in all, good snowshoes.

I’ve used these once on a 2-3 mile hike in some steep terrain. The shoes worked well except one of the metal spikes on the bottom bent. This was probably due to the fact that there were rocks under the snow in some places.

The next trip is an aggressive back country trip and I’m hopeful the bindings will hold up. They aren’t as high as quality as the more expensive back country snow shoes but seem to be well made and good quality for the price.

Decent boots. Seemed a bit hard to get on watching my husband. He wears 10. 5. Ordered 11. Too small!!! Have been trying to return, as I only ordered because it says free returns ! These are sold by a third party apparently, so Groupon can t help.

The company has not respondedto multiple emails from Groupon. It s a joke! Beware of buying from third party companies. I didn t know Groupon did this.

I am an old perimenopausal woman. tmi? Sorry not sorry. I am ALWAYS cold. I use foot heaters, uber thick socks, my Columbias? Oboz? They couldn’t TOUCH these for warmth and comfort. I put on a pair of insulated socks and ran around ice fishing for HOURS.

At one point between them and my float suit set I was SO warm I fell asleep in my chair, on the ice on a frozen lake in the Adirondacks. I also put my foot through a hidden hole, completely waterproof, no complaints!!.

This is suppose to be waterproof. Well I couldn’t understand why my feet was always so cold. I bought heated socks nothing worked. -0° they say. Well today my feet was freezing which meant I couldn’t get warm all day.

I spent money on a 3rd pair Of Kamik boots hoping for a different result. I just want to make it through a full Colorado winter without having to buy a new pair of boots. No cold wet feet while I’m driving the bus.

Dry warm feet. All winter long. Tired of wasting money. Does anyone have any suggestions. This brand isn’t it for me. 3 pairs wasted. And they run smaller.

The boot is of high quality material and completely waterproof. The upper material is easy to clean and maintain. The removeable liner means I will be able to use in wet weather without sweating my feet.

The pull closure on top ensures a snug and comfortable fit and also seals against the weather. With the price and quality it is definitely a boot to be in top of anyone’s list of best boots. The boot was comfortable to wear and I look forward to hours in the cold weather without worrying about my feet and socks.

Columbia should change the name of these boots to something other than Fairbanks because your feet wouldn’t survive 10 minutes outside if you were actually wearing them in Fairbanks. Wanted a lightweight yet warm pair of boots for fat tire biking.

I live in Anchorage, Alaska so I need boots that’ll keep my feet warm in temps down to -20 and I thought these would do the trick. Oh how wrong I was! They are super lightweight and fit perfectly (12W) but they just don’t offer enough insulation to keep my feet warm in the extreme cold temps.

Went for a bike ride yesterday when it was -15 and my feet quickly got so cold that I had to turn around and head back to the car. By the time I got there my feet were absolutely numb. It happened fast and went downhill quickly as my feet just kept getting colder and colder.

I’d say these boots would probably be OK at temps above 10 degrees or so. Not exactly sure of the temp range because I haven’t had a chance to test them at various temps but gauging by how fast my feet got cold at -15 I’d have to say 10-20 degrees is probably the low end comfort limit of these boots.

Bottom line is I think I’ll stick to my Buggaboots when it’s extremely cold. They offer twice the insulation (400g vs 200g) and these will just have to be my warmer weather boots because they are comfy and lightweight, they just don’t offer the insulation needed at extreme cold temps.

There probably isn’t anything wrong with this boot. However, dealing with Columbia is a JOKE!!! I ordered these for my husband for Christmas but in a different color. I had used $40 in rewards that I had received from a previous purchase.

These were too small so I asked about an exchange. They said I had to return them first and then after they processed the return, I could repurchase them. It took about 6 weeks for all this to happen!! When I got ready to repurchase them, they were no longer in stock.

So I ordered this color. After placing the order, I get an email that these are also out of stock. I was on the phone with them 3 times and chat with them 4 times trying to resolve this and get my $40 in rewards back so I could repurchase them.

Each time I was on the phone or chat, it was over an HOUR wait to talk to anyone. This has been a VERY frustrating experience and I will never purchase from them again!! A simple exchange would have been much easier and a lot less frustrating.

Beware if buying online from them and trying to use any rewards that you have!!.

Glad I purchased these. After many years I needed another quality pair of winter snow boots. The fit 10. 5 was right on. Roomy toe box–these boots are a little wide, which is great as it allows me to wear a heavy pair of wool socks.

Plus I can lace them tighter if needed. Very comfortable and supportive insole–a must for me. Good grip. Warm but not heavy. They are both sturdy yet flexible. Haven’t really put them to the test of deep snow and real cold, but my feet were plenty warm at 5 degrees with lighter wool socks.

I had looked at several cheaper pairs of boots on Amazon–but when it comes to staying warm and secure in Colorado winters I didn’t want cheap boots on my feet. Always love Columbia quality. I’ll be wearing these for many years.

I collect snowshoes – have old woodies to modern – and use them all in right conditions. I love to ‘shoe, but, for years have searched for more of a “step in/out” binding. I take separate dogs on separate walks so must put snowshoes on/off multiple times to switch out dogs – not to mention sometimes it’s just really frigid and fiddling with bindings with gloves off isn’t fun.

We’ve stepped in and out of skis for years, why not snowshoes? So far I LOVE the bindings. They are as billed. My dogs love me switching in and out of them now in seconds, not minutes and leaving me frustrated! I am disappointed in the ‘shoes, though – and feared I might be viewing on line – but trusted LLB to get it right – however, they missed the mark this time.

Pretty sure whoever designed them has never snowshoed – the squared off front, as opposed to traditional round may be an attempt at fashion, but is completely inappropriate to be nimble on snowshoes.

Nor are they aesthetic – it looks like I have two bread pans on my feet. They also missed the mark to be nearly flat, with very little upturn to the clunky square front. Thus, they will never be useful to break a trail in fresh snow, but they will be my go to for daily recreational dog walks once a track set with more “grown up” snowshoes.

Kudos to BOA Bindings – greatest thing since sliced bread! And kudos to LLB for putting BOA Bindings in their line up – now put them on a better snowshoe design! Since this is a recent purchase, I can’t comment yet as the the BOA durability – for now I am reveling in their ease of use!.

This is my very first shoeshoe – I never felt a learning curve. It was super easy to get them on and off, really great system, and I never felt unsure using them, they felt natural and easy from the get-go.

I tried them locally and they gripped uphill on ice with no worries. Then I took them into the backcountry overnight in both compacted trails and places of wind-swept hard pack and dry powder and my only problems (falling into non-compactable snow in a couple places and struggling up a short but steep incline – I didn’t use the risers) were from lack of skill on my part else unavoidable.

The grip and the floatation were perfect for where I was high in the Sierra but not terrible steep and lots of dry powder: no more post holing hiking in just boots! I had a lot of fun. No regrets, this is a great product, well designed and took abuse with very little wear (just tiny scratches in the frame coloring when I kicked them together ones in a while).

I was planning to get $350 snowshoes in another brand but the backorder was forever. saw these LLB ones and, darn, they seemed quite similar — narrow fit, light weight, great easy-fit BOA binding, heel lift for steep hills.

and $150 cheaper. Used them on a back-country trip in the San Juans with considerable climbing. They worked really well. Good flotation. One problem — the BOA release knob was malfunctioning — spinning and bobbling when open.

Had to return but Bean is sending me new ones. Alas, not in the color I wanted, but still. Only quibble is the heel strap. I wear a women’s 8. 5 boot and had to tighten it all the way, which left the end of the strap flapping.

Wonder how they’d be on a smaller foot.

When I put them on and stood up I quickly realized these shoes have no support. The rubber tailed runs up over the ankle and it’s all 1 piece not like a regular shoe where the sole is separate. Because of this when you put weight down the rest of the shoe folds over and makes it extremely uncomfortable and hard to move in.

They look cool, they are water proof.

I bought these on clearance with a discount and got a great deal on them. They have a nice wide toe box and they’re not too stiff. They are waterproof and warm without making you feel like your feet are going to sweat off.

It’s a good boot to wear if you have to keep them on at work all day.

Except for the fact that they were delivered wrapped in plastic- no box. I ordered a size 9 one boot was a size 9 and the other was a size 10. So after waiting almost 2 weeks for them to arrive they had to be returned the next day.

So disappointing DSW dropped the ball on this one.
