20 Best Snow Blower For Slush (2023 Updated)

I purchased the Little Snowie a little over a month ago. I was really surprised to see that it came with some syrup mixes (powdered to make) as well as 8 cups and scoops (for spoons). My kids absolutely LOVE the snow cones it makes.

The quality of the ice that is shaved is light and fluffy -just like snow! (or, just like the snowcones I pay $6 for at the amusement park) It gets a little more “granular” once the syrup is added and it gets soaked up a bit.

There are no ice chunks at all. The machine, like many reviews have stated, is loud. but, it is shaving ice so I expect it to be loud. Other reviews also share this machine is messy and ice flies everywhere.

Well, it would if you don’t have a cup secured firmly where the shaved ice comes out. If a cup is placed there snuggly, there is not a mess at all. The machine itself holds about 3 scoops of ice, making approximately 3 good-sized snow cones.

It makes each snowcone in about 20 seconds and it very fast! What I have done for larger crowds is fill a small 20-quart cooler with shaved ice in advance and made the snowcones from the cooler. This way, you can enjoy snow cones at a park or somewhere where there is no electricity available.

The leftover snow is super fun to make into snowballs and have a snowball fight! (I think this product would be amazing to have in warmer states so you could make your children snow!) I highly recommend this product and hope it lasts for years.

This item was purchased for a baby shower. My concern with a product of this kind was how the machine shaved the ice. When it comes to frozen ice treats I am extremely particular. Without having much faith in being satisfied, I made the purchase with the intention of not being satisfied.

Was I pleasantly surprised! The Little Snowie 2 works perfectly! The ice is shaved to a consistency of freshly fallen snow! The ice is actually mouth watering even without a flavor! I am so pleased with this product that it never leaves its place on my cabinet.

It is used several times daily and continues to hold a place of honor as a necessary appliance. If this ice shaver ever wears out it will be one of the first things to be replaced. I fully recommend this Little Snowie to anyone looking for an ice cone machine that outperforms expectations.

Still using my original Pb 255LN. I live in Maine and have a 3/4 acre lot. Lots of leaves to make into huge piles for the Grandkids. This blower starts easy and provides plenty of power to make short work of Fall cleanup.

The design of the tapered tip makes it easy to get under the leaf piles to lift and move them with ease. Offers low vibration , and I’ve found the balance helps with wrist fatigue. Last year I bought one for my youngest son , and today I’m buying this one for oldest.

Echo products , blowers to trimmers to chainsaws seem to run in the family.

Never again will I buy an Echo blower. I would give this cheap Chinese built (US assembled) blower zero stars if possible. I bought the blower brand new and after using once, it wouldn’t start. I brought it to Echo dealer for service and they told me the fuel filter was defective.

I was under the impression Echo offered a 5 year warranty and the service dealer said this type of repair isn’t covered. He also said Echo’s warranty is a joke and it doesn’t cover much. Search for this online and you will see what I am talking about.

There are also many other Echo owners who have also experienced problems with this and the previous 250LN model complaining online. I had to pay $50 to repair after owning the product for 3 weeks. I called Echo to complain and voice my concern and dealt with a manager named Christine who was extremely rude and told me next time I don’t have to buy Echo.

Never again!.

We had a Echo PB-250 and after 9 years of “Daily” use it died. I use 100LL aviation fuel with top tier 2 cycle oil, change & clean the air filter all the time, change the plug yearly i. e. keep up the maintenance the best I can.

I bought this new PB-255 It works the same as our old PB-250 maybe a tad better, but that might just be the end of the blower tube. It does start a lot easier then the PB-250! After buying the new PB-255 I though why not see why the old PB-250 died.

So I took the old PB-250 to a local repair shop and they replace all the fuel lines, fuel filter and rebuilt the carb for less than I told them I would spend to keep it alive. I was shocked when they called and said the PB-250 was in great shape and was repaired.

We now have two Echo hand held blowers. Can’t have too many tools can a guy? :- ) So I would say the Echo hand held blower is a great value and built to last *if you take care of the product*! Randy.

I have had my snow blower for ten years, and each year a storm comes along when I wish I had a little more weight upfront. This year, I got the weight. Surprising how just a few extra pounds can make such a difference to the balance of the machine.

Plus, I appreciate that if I ever go to get another Ariens machine, I can still bring this, my drift cutters, and other upgrades over to it. The folks that engineered these machines did well, and I appreciate it.

Haven’t blown snow with it yet got it right as the season was ending so of course mother nature can’t give me one last snowfall to test it out. But as far as the product goes it’s solid heavy and mounts secure to the unit.

Instructions are clear and install is possible with one person though 2 would have been nice as it’s a bit of a balancing act on your knee trying to get things lined up and secure so you can use both hands again.

Definitely adds some downward force on the front of the machine looking forward to using it and will update my review if things don’t pan out like they should or I feel additional info is needed to my review.

This is a necessary addition to your newer snowblower. Unlike the older Ariens blowers the newer ones are not as heavy and tend to lift off the drive more since there is not enough weight on the front end.

These list add that needed weight. I bought one kit last year and just added another and that seems to match the weight I had been accustom to on my 1970 Ariens. Its just a darn shame they charge so much for a hunk of painted steel that probably should have been part of the blower I.

The first place.

I’ve had my Troy-Bilt snow thrower since 2013 & it came with 2 spare shear pins & bow tie clips. I’ve never broken a pin but I noticed doing some pre-winter service maintenance last fall that 2 of 4 the pins in the auger were bent so I used the 2 spare ones.

I needed another part so I placed these with the order. I was pleased that they still carry these original equipment parts even though Canadian Tire no longer carries this model.

I purchased a used TroyBilt snowblower. It had places to hold spare shear pins but no spares were present. I always find it useful to have spares on hand since any of us can pick up a rock or a piece of wood and shear a pin while snow blowing.

Much better to get back to blowing quickly than to have to break out the shovel to finish the snow removal.

I was tempted to get the single pack rather than the “Kit” (4-pack), but decided on the “kit”. I ordered this before the first storm, and replaced the pin I had broken last year on some crazy ice. Missed a 2×4 under the snow on a path I clear.

Broke another pin, and boy was I glad to go back to the garage, pop another pin in, and be back to clearing up after the storm in about 2 minutes. If I had not gotten the kit, I would have either had to deal with clogs from a tine not turning, or be shoveling instead.

Get the kit.

Some pre-amble. I made the commitment to move away from gas powered tools this past year, and my snow blower was last to go about 1. 5 months ago. I purchased Toro lawnmower in October with intention of also buying Toro snow blower for interchangeability of batteries.

Let me say that my original plan was to buy the newly released 2-stage 26″ Toro snow blower, but when I could not find them anywhere (waiting lists) due to supply chain issues everywhere, I found myself looking at other options.

that’s when I started looking at this single stage with 7. 5a battery. Based on reviews, it seemed to be a really good machine, and more I thought about it, it is probably sufficient for my 4 car driveway (estimate 20′ x 40′), and had the added advantage of small footprint and light weight for storage.

Oh, let’s not forget about ~$1350 less expensive too! I did not want to find myself without a blower this winter for worry that these would also sell out, so I took the plunge and ordered a couple of months before winter hit.

So, back to review of the e21 Power Clear. First snow storm last night in Eastern Ontario (Dec 5th), and we got quite a few cms of snow, followed by freezing rain. So snow was high in some places, and wet, with a thinner crusty layer.

Temp outside was about -2 degrees Celcius. so not cold. I started in non-eco mode and for snow that was 8″ deep, it ate threw it. However, after doing about half my driveway, I checked battery level.

it was down to 2 bars (fully charged when I started). So, I switched to Eco mode to do the remaining half, my about 50 sq ft of walk way and the road in front of my yard (about 6′ x 10′ so snow plow driver can see my curb and to minimize the pile at end of driveway).

The stuff on the road was about the same height of blower opening and it had a tougher time, but still chewed threw it. Had to take Eco mode off for that though. It had no issue in eco mode, although you can tell the difference in the motor speed and as one would expect, distance snow was thrown.

Still did the job though. And yes, this can throw the snow easily 25ft. almost accidently threw snow over my yard and onto my neighbours driveway. When I was done, I had one bar on my battery. What I don’t know is how close the machine was to just shutting down from lack of battery power.

Not sure if these batteries show red when completely spent or not, but based on claims and reviews, I suppose I expected more than that. Also, note it was not cold out, and I suspect cold temps take their toll on battery life.

That said, if it was that cold, would have been light fluffy snow instead of wet crusty snow, so maybe that somewhat balances out. All this to say based on my one experience, if we were expecting a huge snow fall, ie.

consistent depth of 6-7 inches or more, I would likely plan to clean the snow at least a couple of times during the storm opposed to waiting for the snow to stop, as I would do and easily manage with my previous 2-stage 11 hp gas snow blower.

Keep in mind that my thinking in this regard is only based on my experience using this unit once, so take with a grain of salt. Then, I waited for the plow to come by, but by then, there wasn’t enough material to justify using the blower.

it was mostly water and slush from all the rain and +6 degree temp. One thing that I definitely noticed, and miss, was the shoot height adjustment at the handle. Given my situation, I am adjusting height several times during the snow blowing session, and I cannot reach the chute adjustment from behind the blower (I am 6’4″).

I have to stop and go to the side to adjust it whereas on my gas blower, I could adjust it quickly with the lever on the main handle bar on the fly while blowing snow. I would pay more for this unit to have that functionality at the handlebar.

Is it a deal breaker? Not likely, but time will tell. Who knows, maybe I will get annoyed enough to move to a 2-stage. So, summary of pros and cons (for me): Pros: small foot print, electric so no dino fuel required, light for storage on a shelf in my garage, seems to handle decently deep snow, even wet, and can throw it far, scrapes driveway clean so no need to follow up with shovel like I did with my big gas blower, led light is bright, although I used in the morning so was less noticeable, super light to maneuver while using it, easy to push through the snow.

little effort required. Cons: 7. 5a battery may not last as long as claims, wish the wheels were rubber instead of plastic, and really miss being able to adjust the shoot height. I will say that I am a little concerned about the plastic chute and possibility of cracking in very cold temps and if the impeller grabs a decent chunk of ice or rock.

That’s just me though, not sure if it would crack or cause any issues, but something to be said about strength of metal chute. Would I buy it again? At this point, yes. However, I won’t really know for sure until I have used this at least a half a dozen times under various conditions.

Nevertheless, hope this helps those who may be considering moving to electric or this blower in particular. One more thing, there is only one other brand that I considered for my battery lawnmower and snow blower (starts with an E ends with an o, and “gee”, it’s name is short) it, but after research on reliability and customer service, I decided to go with Toro, even though it is a bit of a premium.

They have an established authorized dealer network for any warranty work or repairs.

I bought this before Thanksgiving and was able to use it a few times and it was working great. Then after a small snowfall before Xmas, it was running like before and then suddenly died for no apparent reason.

I tried a different battery to see if the issue was that instead but it just wouldn’t start up again. Fortunately I was able to bring it back to Home Depot and exchange it for a new one. My only complaints are that there is no on/off for the lights because they can actually make things more difficult when it’s dark and blowing snow.

It would be nice to be able to turn them off when not needed. I also had some issues when the pavement isn’t level and the scraper would bump and I would suddenly stop and run into the snow blower. It just seems to happen a bit more with this than my old gas powered Toro.

The auger also scrapes against uneven pavement but that shouldn’t damage the auger too much I don’t think. It’s very quiet and sometimes I hear the rocks it picks up and get worried that something is going to break.

Otherwise it has worked very well, even in heavy wet snow. I haven’t tried it in snow deeper than 6 inches or so but I try not to let snow get that high anyway. It’s so quiet that I can clear snow later at night without bothering my neighbors If it want.

Overall, a very good product so far.

I got the 24″ platinum SHO because of the high power to cut ratio and easy to use and store size. In many cases with my old 27″ unit I could not take a full width cut without leaving a trail anyway. The controls are opposite of my old unit so I waited awhile to get used to it before leaving a review.

It seemed clumsy at first but I am getting used to it and the controls are working well. It does have good power and throws snow a long ways, fairly well aimed. The autosteer is working well and is one of the main reasons I updated from my old (1992) but still good running, solid axle, drag to turn blower.

Now the quibbles. This is a large engine set fairly far back on the frame. It is not balanced perfectly and would benefit from having the wheels mounted further back. I added 2 weight kits (20 pounds) and that did help.

Now it doesn’t pop a wheelie every time I engage the drive. And yes, the drive is adjusted for a low first gear and reverse working properly. Perhaps the weight kits should be standard. I also added hdpe plastic skid shoes for easy steering and non marking performance.

I am also thinking about adding a shroud over the headlight to prevent it from shinning in my eyes a little bit. These are minor complaints, especially when compared to some of the issues I noticed in build quality of other machines.

Overall, after getting used to the controls, the machine has very good power and manueverability, even for my smaller wife. The size is actually just as efficient as the 27″ unit I had, and is easier to move and store.

Oh, I almost forgot the gas cap and tank. The tank is ok in size for my smaller residential use, but some may find it small. I am not a fan of the tab style gas cap either, a little fiddly and not tethered, I thought it was seeping a little but so far when running it has been ok.

I had purchased this machine to replace an older 8hp Simplicity. I had my first chance to use my new platinum deluxe 24 yesterday on a challenging snow. 6″ of very wet heavy snow with an 1/8″ ice glaze on top.

The new Ariens handled my slanted driveway with ease right out of the garage, Without any effort, it cleared right down to the pavement. Even at the bottom of the driveway where the plow had left 13+” of heavy wet slushy snow, the machine never hesitated, or even slowed down.

It must have thrown this crud 40′ easy without any problem. I took it onto the grass to clear areas for my trash and recycling carts. It worked just as good on the grass as it did on the cement. And areas where I needed a little finesse like around my mailbox, and walkway, I adjusted the chute from the operators position, and it piled it up exactly where I wanted it.

No puking snow out the sides or having to take partial cuts like the old machine when you get into drifts, or piles of deep snow. The auto-turn is super easy to use. Point it where you want it to go, and it locks both wheels and delivers excellent traction.

No fiddling with triggers. For a powerful machine, I couldn’t believe how easy this thing is to handle. I had to turn the heated hand grips off because my hands were too warm. This is a very sturdy machine with a metal chute, and control panel.

With good care and regular maintenance , I can easily see this machine lasting 20 + years. If your in the market for a great snow blower, look no further. When lesser machines are plugging up with the wet heavy stuff like they were today, you’ll be finished with your snow removal chore and headed in for a cup of coffee.

I have not had a chance to use my Toro Snow Blower because we have not had any snow. I have spent many hours of due diligence in appraising snow blowers before making this purchase. Based on the Youtube videos I have seen and the local dealership that I have dealt with for a number of years, I think this is the best snow blower for the price and its ability to clear my driveway.

I will rewrite my review after several experiences with the use of my snow blower. I am sure, based upon my experience with my Toro lawn mower that I will also continue to give a 5 star rating.

Bought this just in time for the most recent NorEaster. This is actually our second, the first lasted more than 10 years with virtually no regular maintenance. A friend took that one did some minor servicing and had it up and running in no time.

All of our neighbors have those huge snow blowers with gears and lights. This blower puts them to shame. While the neighbors were wasting time changing gears, my husband was plowing through 18 inches of snow in half the time it took them.

We purchased this, had it delivered and removed it from the box (setup was very easy) and literally began clearing over 10 inches of snow from our driveway and sidewalks. This Toro handled so smoothly and effortlessly, so much so that we cleared the snow from our neighbors’ driveways on either side of us.

We purchased a different brand three years ago and it stopped working after two snowfalls. I would recommend Toro as it has proven itself to be a winner. Penny M.
