20 Best Sneakers For Older Ladies (2023 Updated)

My new Romy walking shoes are just as comfortable as the old ones that I have worn to a nub! I purchased the taupe color this time, which is a nice neutral color. Instead of a white sole and trim, these have a very light cream color, which I like.

These shoes were so comfortable from the very first time I wore them. No break-in time is needed. Although these do not have a pronounced arch support, they work well with my orthotics which give me the arch support I need.

I wear a 10. 5 narrow, but have to get these in 11 narrow since they don’t have the half size I need. The fit is still good for me though, probably because of my orthotics. This is my third pair of Romys, so you know I have to like them to keep buying them.

As long as Easy Spirit does not change the way these are made (no “new and improved” needed!), I’ll be a lifelong customer. These were on back order, so I did have to wait several weeks to receive my order.

Since there was no critical need, that was not a problem for me.

I shop at the Rookwood Location where all the Staff are so willingly to help you find the right shoes. On this particular day I had that special person! I gave her my shoe size 10. 5-11 and width. not too many narrow widths but we managed.

I was just at my wit when my special customer service person showed me one last shoe and yes it was in my size but not the width. Not too many walking shoes have narrow widths, but anyway; I tried it on and oh my goodness it felt so good on my feet as I walked around.

I had an older pair of this style and loved the comfort but hated the sole pattern because pebbles were always getting stuck. I bought this pair and I love them! The sole is different and doesn’t pick up as many rocks.

I have a high instep and had to buy up 1/2 a size and *still* wear thin socks. If I wear cotton socks, they would be right across the top of my foot and definitely not comfortable. The style is great for working from home and taking an occasional walk throughout the day.

I wear these for travel days too and they work great!.

The shoes are great, made extremely well & long lasting. I have been wearing these shoes for 20 years, for travel & casual wear, good support & comfort for standing many hours whilst cooking & baking.

The go walks have always been true to size, however this pair is too wide & made bigger than previously. I ordered them on line, sent an e mail 2 days ago about returning them and have not heard back.

I called the local store in the West Edmonton Mall – on line orders can no longer be returned & the size 5. 5 is not in store & no longer on line. I appreciate that times are tough now during the pandemic & would appreciate more helpful customer service to resolve this issue.

We have officially had 2 pairs of these! Both were terrible! Bought one pair for my daughter and they were so uncomfortable and really narrow. NOT AT ALL WORTH WHAT WE PAID, even on sale!! 😠 I thought at first she was over exaggerating soooo I decided to try them myself and by the end of the first day my feet were killing me! These brand new shoes were worn for about 2 weeks between us both.

I’ll stick to my Nike Resolution 5 Running Shoes! They are awesome and much cheaper. #2 pair- I should’ve taken a picture. The front sole detached after maybe having them 3 months. My youngest daughter wore these and for this pair it was durability/quality that was very poor.

I get LOADS of compliments every time they are on my feet. They look great with jeans and shorts. The shoe is white but the inside lining is black which earned bonus points in my book because I usually wear black ankle socks.

The shoe is super light despite looking a little chunky. Also the top is cut low but super stiff so these have great ankle support. Ok now the bad. I have been wearing an expensive brand of cork footbed shoe/sandal for over 2 years to help combat plantar fasciitis and lower back pain.

This particular brand if shoe has been a Godsend and made a huge difference in my quality of life. This Nike tennis shoe is not very shock absorbent. Also my heels/feet/back are tender and sore after wearing these for a while.

This may be an issue that only I encounter because of the back injuries I have sustained but it is a real deal breaker for future purchases of this brand. Also these shoes are not slip resistant like my other shoes.

I decided to keep the shoes because I can stand to wear them for a date night or short excursions and be ok and stylish.

Love this shoe. Looks great on and is super comfortable, I’m only 5’3 so I like that it gives me a slight bit of height while still being super comfortable. I can easily wear and walk in these all day without discomfort.

I would say that it does run a half size small. I am a true size 9 in shoes, however I ordered this in a 9. 5 and am glad I did as it fits perfectly. I was concerned because other reviews say it runs narrow, but I have average/slightly wide feet and have absolutely no issues with them.

I have the Air Force 1 shoes in a size 9, and I have a pair of Adidas tennis shoes in a size 9, but ordered these in a 9. 5 and they fit perfectly and just like my other shoes, so I’d say to just order a half size up and you’ll be good.

I legitimately didn’t know this brand still existed. I have been on the hunt for cross trainers for months, and most of the shoes from the major brands are either hideous or super uncomfortable. These are simple and surprisingly comfy.

I only wear them at the gym but they serve that purpose well. I am flat-footed so I can’t tolerate a noticeable arch, and these have none. Nice and wide in the toe box, and they hit the ankle in just the right place.

Definitely recommend. Usually I like more colorful shoes but the white is classic!.

I purchased last month. I was looking for a white sneaker to wear to a cookout and to look cute to my attire. Well, I did and this sneaker spoke volume! It wasn’t too busy as for the style! I’m 57 and it was an eye-catcher to where we went.

I am definitely unhappy with these Sneakers. These were the most uncomfortable sneakers I ever wore. It felt like there was no support. I stand on my feet for 5 hrs every day, 4-9pm waitressing and my feet killed me the 3 times I wore these.

I am disappointed bc I K-Swiss has always been a favorite of mine. Idk if it’s just this style or what. I’m returning them. Ouch! My aching feet! Trying the Ryka this time.

Brooks have been great to me over the years, but as I’m getting older and sadly health declining they don’t seem to feel as they used to. Plantar faciitis has affected my left heel only, not my right though so now I’m noticing something different about Brooks fitment.

Almost as if they are designing them tighter in the heel on then sides. I typically wear a men’s size 9. 5 US medium (D), but the next width up from Medium seems to be impossible to come buy when I go to order new shoes.

I’ve tried Glycerins, Addiction, and now Addiction Walkers, etc, all feel tighter on the sides of the heels than they did in previous editions. Everywhere else in the shoe feels fine, just pinching tight on the heel sides.

Regretfully it might be time for me to move to a new brand. Unless the next width up from Medium (D) becomes more readily available for me to find in a shoe I am willing to drop $160 on.

I have been purchasing the Addiction Walker for 15 yrs. and never had a problem with them. until my last pair. In fact, they are my ‘every day’ shoes (shopping, walking, cooking, etc. ) I even have all 3 colors in this shoe.

I usually buy a pair every 10 months. Last Fall 2021, I purchased a pair of Black Addiction Walker V-strap, but did not start to wear them until February 2022. Since they were made of leather, I felt that they just needed to be “worn in” After three months wearing these shoes, they are still hurting my foot.

I am 78 yrs. old and surely my foot has not grown. I believe that Brooks has changed their manufacturer in cutting this shoe. I always took a size 9. 5 M and I probably need a size 10 M on this shoe now.

Unfortunately, I do not have the Brooks shoe box nor receipt to exchange these shoes for another pair.

The Addiction Walker Suede is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned! I have debilitating foot pain when I am barefoot or dressed in anything else. I am very overweight and stand long hours for work.

I have worn the Addiction Walker Suede every day for 10 months, washed them once (only because I started wearing them without socks and they got smelly), but they still are I holding up beautifully, look nice, and are comfortable and supportive despite the extra abuse I put them through.

I usually tend to over-pronate in shoes. Even after 10 months of daily use, there is very minimal to ever-so-slight pronation in the Addiction Walker Suede. I don’t make a lot of money, but I would still buy this shoe even if it cost several times it’s listed price.

I also own the leather Addiction Walker I that I use for my side jobs as usher for a NHL and a MLB team. This version of the shoe is also incredibly supportive and comfortable (but not as comfy as the suede).

It is finally starting to wear down after 3 years of use in extreme weather and standing on concrete for hours at a time. I just purchased the Addiction Walker II yesterday and eagerly awaiting its arrival.

I am crossing my fingers and hoping it is as comfortable as the suede version. PLEASE MAKE MORE COLORS AVAILABLE IN THE SUEDE 2E WIDTH! I would purchase them all. I tried buying the men’s version of this shoe but you didn’t have my equivalent size in men’s in 2E width (women’s size 9/men’s 7.

5). It was too narrow. I kept it and I hope it stretches in time.

I bought the Chicane size 8 one month ago. I had called the company before ordering to ask about the high arch as I read that you have to break them in as the arch might be uncomfortable. My feet are very sensitive to any high arched shoe, but I took a chance.

I can say that these shoes did not bother my arch at all, and I do not feel that they have a high arch if anyone is concerned about that. Prior to the purchase, I have had heal soreness I suspect from outside barn/yard shoes I regularly wear with no support.

I went ahead and wore these shoe in my house during the day for the past several weeks. I do not feel like I had to break them in. However, I cannot say that they helped my feet at all. In fact my Skecher D’Lites with memory foam work better on my feet than the Kuru Chicane.

I was hoping that these would make my feet feel better but for me they do not offer any extra support than regular Skecher shoes. I decided to keep the shoes but would not buy them again. I have since bought another pair of Skecher D’Lites.

The shoe fits true to size with all of my other tennis/workout shoes. I stated that the width was true to size as I am medium/regular width and they did not feel like wide shoes. However they are more open in the foot, and I prefer a more snug fit.

I bought these for walking the dog after blowing out my arch walking in snow boots all winter. No other hiking shoes were comfortable. I have problems with plantar fasciitis and my fifth metatarsal. These shoes feel supportive and definitely help with plantar fasciitis.

The metatarsal is another story, and these don’t help with that at all. I have to be careful to land my foot straight forward or slightly inward to avoid pain there. The ice blue color and the sparkles make these look juvenile, but since I got them for walking the dog I don’t care.

It was hard to wait for the break-in period, but I could tell they were squishy and needed time to adapt to my foot. plenty of width. I like the sideways lacing – seems to take pressure off the outside of the foot.

Best shoe I’ve tried so far but not perfect.

Since about 6 months ago, I was desperate to find a shoe that, at the end of the day, my feet weren’t killing me. I tried multiple high-end shoes, each promising “happy-feel-good” feet, but to no avail! I friend suggested Kuru’s, saying she now owns 4 pair, and she’ll never own any other shoe-brand again.

So I started with woman’s Quantum size 8 wide. I’ve got arthritis in both feet, multiple hammer toes, diabetes. Once they arrived, onto my feet they went, and OMG!!! NO PAIN at end of my day!!!! Having suffered foot pain for so long, then suddenly NONE, my feet felt as if they’d gone to heaven (well, almost!).

I now own 3 pairs of Kuru’s, and my husband has purchased a pair of men’s Quantum wide, and he swears these are the best shoes he’s ever worn, too! Thank you to the creators of these fantastic shoes!!!!.

Can’t give a truly accurate rating since I bought these for a trip I leave to go on next week & hopefully these will be as comfortable as their original faux leather white sneaker (that only comes in black now?) My only comment is that my pair arrived damaged with what appeared to be burn marks on the bottom of the sole and it was dirty around the edges.

However since I’m on a time crunch I went into the store and they offered me a good discount on them. I kept them because they are nice looking and I appreciate the great customer service I received from both online and in store.

I usually wear an 8 1/2, and purchased the white with leopard heel in that size. I received an all white pair that even though said it was an 8 1/2, did not fit like the pairs I’ve bought before. Very tight, and uncomfortable.

Would definitely go up at least to a 9, in these. I guess for some reason, depending on the color of the shoe it’s going to fit differently.

Super cute and comfy. These have a nice comfy cushion that keeps my arches happy even though it’s not arch support per se (I’m in my late 30’s and can’t deal with shoes without support anymore!). And they move with you unlike some stiff casual sneakers.

The toe box is a little narrow and the tongues press against the top of my feet a little as I break them in, but I have had much more expensive casual sneakers with worse problems. These are very good all around (looks, comfort, price).

I purchased the pink pair last year (and the silver this year). I’m cleaning up my shoes so I figured it would be a great time to review them! I absolutely love the way these shoes look! The pink and black is bold and bright! The silver and white match almost everything! As far as comfortability, these shoes need “broken in” some.

Because I wear these with no show socks I normally place a band-aide over the back of my foot where they would rub. After 3-4 wears they are fine. My daughter just wears regular socks the first few wears but she is flat footed.

They are comfortable after a few wears. For durability these last awhile with regular care. I normally clean up any marks at least weekly (or when I’m doing other shoes. They are easily cleaned but also easily get marks and dirt.

I would NOT recommend machine washing. I use sneaker cleaner, erasers, spot cleaning pens or just water and a sponge. I mostly do spot cleaning. I also cut any loose strings when cleaning. Normally I don’t get more than what’s shown in thee pictures.

They normally last well over a year with this type of care. Do not store in direct sunlight as it will make the rubber yellow! I store mine/my daughters in the boxes. I buy these on sales such as buy 1 get 1 50% for my daughter or when new colors come out and they’re discounted I purchase for myself.

I think they’re worth the sale price. Remember you are paying for the brand name not the quality. Although these are decent quality they require upkeep or they will not last long.
