20 Best Snail For Betta Tank (2023 Updated)

I love this thing and so does my female betta. It is her own special spot that she only lets her friends hang out in. My pleco also likes to hang out on the underside of it. I have been feeding my betta through the hole in the top so now she goes to her log whenever it is feeding time.

Which is a lot of fun. The only draw back is when it gets caught in the current. It moves around a lot and will be sent spinning when it hits the outtake flow. To prevent this I have trapped it behind the taller plants.

It would be nice if it had an option to use a suction cup with it to keep it stationary, but other than that, I am happy with this purchase.

I’ve been having this log for almost a month now and I’ve had no issues at all with this product. The log itself was smooth with no sharp edges, and didn’t smell. I will note that if you have a filter or moving water, that you will probably need to do a DIY holder to keep the log in place.

Otherwise, it’d move around with the current. My betta loves to swim through this log and just stay inside it constantly. He even made a bubble nest in the log too! I don’t regret this purchase at all and keep in mind that each betta is different.

I love the look of this thing at the top of the tank and it gives a nice vertical visual interest. It doesn’t spin or float crazily. It gives my fish something to investigate, rest on, swim through-he seems to love it.

I recommend this. It has a hole in top three encouraged to drop a little food in-try it, it’s fun to watch! I ended up having to move the leaf hammock because this floating log tended to want to rest on it.

This product contains a unique blend of different common fish medications that I have yet to find anywhere else. It hits parasites, fungus, and bacteria all in one product while boosting the fishs’ immune system.

Since it only comes in small bottles, it’s not practical for treating anything other than a 1-3gal Betta tank, therefore, I use it as a fish dip/bath for all new fish. I add about 3 drops into the pet store bag with new fish and let the fish sit in it for at least 5mins to cleans their scales of any infectious germs that may be floating around the pet shops’ tanks.

I have been repurchasing this product for years because it has never failed me. It has saved my betta numerous times. If you are a moron and wait until your fish is so diseased it’s near death, this product won’t work.

But if you will look closely at your fish(s) closely each day for a few minutes, to notice any change in their appearance, and catch disease at early stage then this product is a miracle. For me, I have a Betta.

At the first sight of any disease, I add 32oz of fresh water with the same temp to a small plastic tank. I let this hospital tank float in the main tank. For each 16oz, you only need one drop of medicine.

So, only 2 drops needed which really saves money and isolates the sick fish. Each day, I remove 16oz of sick water and replace with a fresh 16oz of treated water. My fish is normally back to health within 3 days using this process at which point it is placed back into the main tank.

This did not help my sons new betta which came from petsmart with pre existing fin rot issues. I let him pick this fish out and he would be very upset if he died or was returned so i tried this to see if it would cure his Bettas illness and anything else possibly going on.

This stuff did nothing to revive his betta fish in its 1. 5 gallon tank which equals about 12 drops a day for the 3 days hes been using it. In fact i think its made his fish worse! He doesn’t move much, and is actually worse off than he was before i gave this to him.

He wont eat now either and i may just have to give him back to petsmart or he may die. Unsure but dont use this! My sons betta was an $18 fish! Its supposed to be a beautiful color.

They are in there doing their job! Arrived very healthy. Don’t really see them in the pond but they are doing their thing

I received the snails in the mail! They were alive and healthy, I’m already seeing dozens of baby snails!

My Neritidae pond snails I bought several weeks ago were put in 3 different aquariums, with temperatures of 70 to 80 degrees and pH from 6. 0 to 7. 5. All 3 aquariums still have them voraciously eating the nasty slime-hair algae that has plagued my hobby since there has been an increase in the Sodium Silicate put in our tap water for corrosion control, the last couple years.

Working with the floating plants I also bought, and more live food such as Drosophila and Daphnia, this may be the answer to the worst aquarium problem I have ever had – green slime algae. Great!.

Snails arrived alive and are doing great! They actually did so well they gave birth to a few snail babies! Was really amazing for my class to witness over the weeks we used these animals.

I ordered the pond snails for a science workshop for Early Childhood providers. The shipment arrived quickly and actually contained a few more snails than I ordered. The snails were in excellent shape and very mobile.

This is the BEST snail trap I’ve ever used. It is easily adaptable with included accessories to prevent fish of most sizes from entering. There are only two bait tabs included, but the company does sell bottles of the stuff, and you can also use your own.

It is very easy to put together, doesn’t float away, bait stays where it needs to, and snails do NOT escape once inside. It’s easy to clean and easy to bait. This is pretty well made also, so I have no doubts that it will last quite a while.

While this trap will catch a few it will also catch small fish. Only two pellets of bait supplied with the trap. I have two home made traps that are much more effective at catching snails. Just Google snail traps for photos and videos of home made traps and save your money.

My fish kept throwing these up! I have a small female betta fish and she was not able to eat these. I watched her try to eat and the pebbles were way too big. She would take a while to swallow one and then soon after she swallowed she would throw it up and try to re eat it.

She really wanted to eat them but it wasn’t working. At one point she threw up 4 pebbles at once. I feel really bad because my fish is hungry, and she will have to go hungry until I can go to the store tomorrow.

I would not recommend these especially if you have a small betta.

So, I was looking to give my betta fish some blood worms, as a treat and for somem extra protein. I put them in some water for a bit then dropped them in his tank, he hated them. I shrugged and decided it was oh well, must been the fish.

I then took the container, closed it and planned to try with my other fish, I then grabbed the little paper/metal sheet seal that was under the cap to throw away, (There’s a layer of paper then metal) and felt it vibrate as I was walkingg to my trashcan.

I dropped it and a small bug flew out and landed on the wall. I killed it, but it was horrifying and I had to throw away the rest product, afraid it might have laid eggs or so. WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN.

My betta loves these! I had one betta that would only eat these and would not touch the pellets, they do smell a little but not terribly, almost like a sweet smell strangely enough. I do recommend giving in small quantities! Remember, a bettas stomach is the size of their eyeball!.

Most of my fish love it. I have 25 fish total, 5 Common Goldfish, 2 Comet Goldfish, 1 Shubunkin Goldfish, 1 Bristlenose Plecostomus, 2 Guppies, 2 Betta Fish, 1 Baby Betta, 3 Guppy Fry, 6 Fathead Minnows, and 2 Feeder Goldfish (not all together).

The Goldfish love it, the Guppies like it for the most part, the Minnows love it, but the Betta Fish are very picky. My Blue Veiltail Female, named Bluestar, seems to like it. However, my Red Veiltail Male used to ignore it.

I was forced to keep him in the evil Petco cup for a week until I could get him a bigger tank. I got him a 4 gallon, and he was very stressed and depressed. I then was forced to stick him in a 1 gallon, and he’s opened up quite a bit! I think he is one of the rare personalities of Betta who prefer small spaces.

Anyway, this product is great overall. They are a perfect size for small fish, since big fish may lose it. If you have fish fry, this is perfect for them! They are so easy to crush (the bloodworms, not the fry) into a fine powder for my Guppy and Betta fry.

Overall, I highly recommend this product, especially for such a great price!.

I bought this for my betta and guppy fish. They both love it. Great as a treat or to add some variety to their diet. The store employee said they didn’t have any freeze dried blood worms, but I happened to check and they had more than two brands on the shelves! A little weird.

I’m glad I found these though because its a great price, and my fish love it.

My betta fish went nuts every time I fed him these! He loved them. Best treat around! Diffenitally recommend it for your betta fish!

I’m always looking for great betta pellets and these make the short list. My picky eater Dorian eats them however Nihilus hates them. Love the size of them just wish packaging was better. 20g is a lot of food and will last years hence it needs a better packaging.

This is the best betta food! They love the pellets. I never have to clean out uneaten food as I had to with other brands. Every betta fish should get this food, it boosts colour and helps them live a healthy life.

My boy really likes these, and they have a strong smell- he can find them real easy in the tank. Only thing is I would def give these a bit of a pre-soak before feeding. They still float even after a soak and are quite crunchy.

It definitely just looks like a big fake log floating in my fish’s tank but he loves it. I stuck it in his tank the other day and for the first little while he seemed annoyed by it and then for the next 24 hours he entirely ignored it.

But, once he finally braved a swim through it – he wouldn’t stop. He spent the next 30 minutes swimming in and out and in and out and in and out. Now I regularly look over and see him posing just like the fish in the photo – just chillin’ in his log.

I didn’t think anything could come close to his love for his hammock but this is for sure a close second. Sometimes I drop an extra food pellet in the top and he practically does a dance when he finds that his already fun log also has extra food in it (he can’t ever seem to get enough food).

My betta didn’t care for it at first. I have him in a 10 gallon tank with a filter. The filter kept moving the log around so he seemed scared of it. I took it out, sanded down a spot, and glued on a suction cup.

I’ve caught him in it twice now! He seems to be getting more comfortable with it. Likes to hide behind it too. It does flake off paint as others mentioned. I just washed it a few times to get it “safe”.

I bought this betta fix when my fish was showing signs of illness. (Laying at the bottom of the tank, hiding and not eating) I used 5 ML for my 3 gallon tank once a day for a week and this brought my fish back to life! He was a brand new fish and was eating and swimming once again.

I definitely will be purchasing this again. I believe he has fin rot and showing signs of swim bladder. This seemed to cure the swim bladder because he’s swimming normal Now. This is Good stuff. Please get this for Your fish! Don’t let the bad reviews scare you.

I won’t lie, I was a bit hesitant to use this but it worked and saved my little Oscar.

I have a double tail male betta for a while I ended up neglecting his tank causing him to get pretty severe fin rot. If you know anything about a double tail they have a top tail and a bottom tail that is the same tail.

His bottom tail was basically one centimeter left. And his top tail was maybe 3 cm left along with his long bottom tail thin being very skinny and the top one the same and almost gone. I’ve been using this product for about 2 months.

His tail is regrowing back generally fast it can take up to 8 months for fenrot to go away. His top double tail is now like 6 cm with the bottom at 4ish almost 5. His bottom longfin is much longer and a lot wider than it was when I had began using the medicine his Top Fin is also wider again along with his double tail actually becoming his double tail again.

So my opinion of this medication is that it works it does take time however it works and he’s doing a lot better now that he’s on the medicine then when he was without it. So I’d say this is a great product.

Because I thought I was going to lose him. And I didn’t.

I would not recommend this product because it has tea tree in it which can kill your betta. The tea tree can coat your fishes lungs making it hard to breath. I gave bettafix to my fish and it started getting aggressive and going g to the top of the tank for air so I did a water change and got aquarium salt.

I recommend aquarium salt insteat.

We love the betta water conditioner from Zoo Med. I used this every after I cleaned our fish tank,followed the instructions of how much drops to put in and somestimes I put less. It works wonders. It doesn’t leave our tank foggy,it kept water clear.

Our 3 yr old betta gets relaxed after and fins healed after weeks.

When I put this into my fishes tank it makes the water foggy. After two days the water became very slimy and when I fed my fish there was a weird slime layer on top of the food because of this.

Left slimy glove floating in the water! Thick chunks that looked like someone shredded toilet paper and mixed it into the water !

My mushrooms. all of them, curled around it and then opened and just sorta sloughed it off. One mushroom inflated itself and I didnt know if that was a good reaction. till it sloughed it off. Most of my rock nems appeared to grab some, but not certain since I was eyeballing that one shroom acting funny.

Some zoas closed when I puffed them with the left overs. Ive only used it today so far. I know the stuff is good, but didnt get the reaction I thought I would. Then again they all ate very well yesterday with the reef roids so they might just be stuffed.

I have a few zoas/paly’s that don’t seem to have a feeding reaction to anything but these types of zooplankton mixes. They close up around these types of foods instead of just sloughing it off. So far I’m very pleased with the product and look forward to trying others.

I bought this when I was shopping around for powdered coral foods. I ended up purchasing this and BRS Reef Chili. I got a really good reaction with this from my LPS but the Reef Chili caused a feeding frenzy all around.

This is the 2nd one that I have bought I use this as part of my arsenal to harvest my snails and cull them in order to feed to my dwarf puffers. The first one I added a couple of blades either side to restrict the gaps between blades so smaller snails would not escape.

I also glued some fishing line attached to a small cork to stop me getting my hands as wet. When I collect the snails I have a container handy to put the catcher in before it reaches to surface of the water, again stops the smaller snails from escaping.

I use broken algae wafers or pond pellets as bait. I insert the trap vertically to let the air pocket out and the trap sink. Can also be used to collect cherry shrimp. When opening Follow the instructions on the back of the box, the round base does come of it is a tight click finish.

Unable to contact JBL required a home phone number to email if they added 2 extra blades with enlarged axle holes, so they could be added as an option, I would rate it 5 star.

Within 30 mins of placing on the tank gravel, the LIM Collect was full of guppies and not a single snail. Very disapointing from such a big brand. This is the original LIM Collect – I dont know if the MkII gets around this problem.

I can’t understand why this product has 2 bad reviews. I have had great success with this, there is one question I would like to ask those who gave a bad review. Did you remember to put bait in the centre cap? I used an algae tab and some plec pellets.

The first time I used it as directed (in the dark) the next morning I took it out of the tank and it was FULL of snails. The secret is to get some bait in the centre cap what the snails can smell.

Papo has made some good sculpts. This is one of their best. It’s finely carved, detailed and painted. The jaw opens and closes. The teeth interlock and fit snugly with each other. The tongue and mouth area is well made.

It looks great when the mouth is open. The material is strong and flexible so less chance of it breaking.

The other Papo dinos I purchased for my grandson for Christmas are very realistic looking, although I wasn’t happy with the size of some of them. This one really misses the mark. It’s big but it doesn’t look like the picture.

It has bright florescent orange paint that really cheapens the look. On top of that the paint job is very haphazard. One one side it looks very blotchy where paint is missing and the other side the paint goes way down the side of his head and into the mouth.

Super disappointed in this one.

What can I say but Papo does it once again with their line of dinosaur figures. The detail is exactly what you expect from Papo and of course as with any of their dino line the animals are posed in a dramatic stance that only aids in creative play as well as looking pretty dramatic when sitting on your shelf.

I use this line as well as Schliech’s lines of dinos for many tabletop wargames and rpg’s I play with friends and my kids and they only add to the table. I have been looking to get my hands on Papo’s Acrocanthosaurus for quite some time and wasn’t sure which version I would come to me through Mastermind Toys.

The image on the online store is the colour variation from 2017 when the dino made its debut in the Papo dino line. It has since been retired and unless Mastermind Toys has any left in stock you will most likely recieving the most recent repaint darker green varation of Acrocanthosaurus for 2018.

I recieved the most recent 2018 colour scheme and this guy is a beauty! As awesome as the 2017 colour scheme is the green tonal repaint really gives this guy a more Komodo Dragon look. Still the same model just a new paint scheme and no matter which one you have this guy is impressive and a must have piece for your dino collection.
