20 Best Smudge Proof Eyebrow Pencil (2023 Updated)

I’ve been using this eyebrow pen for two years and its become my HG for filling in my sparse brows. To get the best results and longest wear here are some tips I recommend: 1) Eyebrows must be clean, dry and free of product.

After applying my daily skincare products (serum, moisturizer, sunscreen etc) I use either a damp q-tip or a wet corner of a washcloth to wipe off my brows so they’re free of product. This brow pen adheres best and lasts forever this way.

2) Store the pen upright with the cap facing down (e. g. I keep it in my makeup brush holder cup). This keeps the tip moist at all times so it’s ready to apply. 3) For a natural look try using two colors.

I use both the Light and Medium to fill in and the blend of shades looks more natural (and less flat).

I’ve used probably every brow product avail @ ulta and seph**a(lol). This is comparable to Urban Decay “Brow Blade” but this one lasts longer on especially if you sweet and get oily. For my oily peeps out there who struggle with your brow makueup not staying or dissolving because of ur oily skin, this product will do the trick.

For the peeps who have a special occasion and need your brows to last ALL DAY, this is it. Went to the beach and literally stayed on for days, so you must use a waterproof makeup remover to get it off.

One call out is there needs to be more shades!! Only 3 shades don’t fit the spectrum of brow color.

I use this product daily and have for years. It is the BEST at filling in the sparse areas of my brows in a natural looking way, and it does so without irritating my very sensitive skin. I have read comments through the years in which people say that this is not a good value because it doesn’t last long.

Mine last a long time! The trick is to store them with the brush tip down so that the solution is always in the brush. Because this is intended to fill in sparse areas, you don’t need much. I follow this with Benefit gimme brow or Glossier boy brow to emphasize the brow that is there.

Another benefit for this Stila product is that it is truly waterproof. It lasts even through days at the beach or pool or during heavy workouts, as long as I don’t rub it away with a towel. It made me feel confident that the look of my brows won’t change – that the sparse areas stay disguised.

My brows are dark brown and the dark brown tint is just right. If your brows are lighter, and you’re not sure which tint to choose, I suggest going with a darker shade.

There’s quite a few brow pencils and various brow products I will always keep stock of, this being one of those. If I need sweat-proof and/or morning to evening wear, this is one of the products I might use.

It lasts a crazy long time on the brows, doesn’t smudge off easily, doesn’t sweat off easily. it’s just a good, reliable pencil that’s fine tipped for my extremely sparse, over-plucked in the early 2000’s, brows.

You can make those fine hair-like strokes with this. Not as fine as some ink brow pens, which I always use after a pencil and brow gel to finish off my brows. But when I’m in a hurry, this one will do just fine on it’s own.

And it’s one of very few that I would use on its own when I don’t have the time to do my usual brow. There will always be a Precisely, My Brow in shade #3 in my brow product drawer! I would add, if you get the wrong shade, as with anything, you may not like this.

I wasn’t a huge fan around 6 years ago when I was using the wrong shade. Since I tried #3 when they expanded their shade range, Ive really loved it. I don’t know if this was a shade that was changed, but it’s definitely my favorite for my medium to dark brows that are sparse enough that using a lighter shade (a soft brown shade) looks the best.

Anything darker on me just looks off and crazy, especially since I’ve kept my hair balayaged for years now.

I used to use the #2 color! I am older and had tattoo eyebrows years ago. I have had light blonde Highlights for many years and have worn this color for many years. This is the Best product out there!! It washes off with normal face cleanser, but has staying power all day and evening.

No touch ups! My tattoo eyebrow color has faded with over 18 years and has a ash/green looking color. My eyebrows have thinned and have little hair. I recently needed a new Pencil and wondered what to do to fix this issue.

Being in my sixty’s now, but no grey hair. I tried the #3 Warm Light Brown pencil and the “warm” tones covered the fading ash tones and actually gave a younger appearance AND very flattering to my face and complimentary to my hair color as well!!! I am glad the testers are back that gave me this ability to see what new color would do! I have read that a “bit”darker color if you are older can actually make a younger appearance.

This corrected my color issue with the faded tattoo from long ago. My blonde highlights with my natural dark blonde, contrast nicely with the added warmth and I am over the moon with results!!! The price point has gone up but the amount in this pencil is the same.

It is mechanical and needs no sharpening while having a nice tip. I just use short light strokes and does not take but a minute to apply. I have aways been a pencil girl and like an easy makeup routine.

Just spend a bit more and use this, it is the best and you won’t regret!!.

I just wrote a huge review about how in 7th grade (1996-97) skinny eyebrows were all the rage, my very stylish grandmother warned me that fashion is cyclical and that bushy eyebrows would surely come back in style one day.

of course I was only 12 and 12-year-olds know everything so I did not listen to her nor did I believe her. but we all know that she was right. My eyebrows never grew back in fully and when bushy eyebrows came back into style I went to Ulta one day to get them tinted and had to have them filled in even more with an eyebrow pencil.

The girl that did my eyebrows used this pencil in shade 3. 5 and that was I believe in 2010. I have been purchasing this same pencil ever since. I have never purchased any other and I probably never will.

I highly recommend it. in the winter I use it on its own but if I am in a hot or humid climate or if it is summertime I use a matte primer underneath and they stay put all day and even last until morning when I’m super lazy and forget to take my makeup off before I go to bed.

Please If you need an eyebrow pencil this brand is amazing. also, if for some reason those skinny “you know what” looking eyebrows ever become cool again. Just listen to your grandmother. Thank you and good day.

I bought this in the soft black mini to try out before buying the full size. I have natural dark brown/ black hair on my head and eyebrows but I dye my hair jet black. Wow. This stuff is a perfect match, stays put, and looks amazing.

I love the precision tip and I’m a sucker for the mechanical twist of the eyebrow pens. The packaging and the design of the product are amazing. This stuff made my eyebrows look natural but slayed and it stayed all day.

Definitely going to buy the full size, this stuff is just GREAT for women who care what their brows are looking like, you can make it very natural or dramatic. I’ve used brownpomades the past 4 or so years but this has brought me back to the pencil game!.

bought a complete set of Benefit Brow pencils,gels, and other goodies, simply because it was a great price for so many products. Many were items I had never used before, and it seemed like a great way to try them out.

It was! I am now a Benefits Cosmetics fan, and I had NEVER used this brand before. I REALLY like this brow definer pencil, and used it up before any of the other products. I can see they have a bunch of other similar items, and I am going to try another fine tipped pencil as well.

The color is perfect for my hair color, which is very light brown, going to blond, and turning silver. The pigment is hard enough to hold up and last a long time, but soft enough that it goes on without having to apply pressure, and it does not break off.

That is a huge pet peeve of mine with eye brow and liner pencils. They tend to be too hard or too soft. Soft is good, until they just break off and become worthless. Too hard, and they you must apply too much pressure, which drags the skin, or they just dry up and have to be thrown away.

Anything I buy from Sephora is too expensive to throw away before they have run out of product. I definitely recommend this product.

This is my first time using this product, I normally don’t buy many Revlon products but I bought this pencil in the shade 215 auburn as it was literally the only brand in the store that carried a red brow pencil.

I had just dyed my hair a bright burgundy and the shade match was great! It is creamy and long wearing throughout my entire work day, even over foundation. The only complaints are the formula does not go well over my soap brow gel that I sometimes use if I want to get the fluffy look, but that may just be the formula of that product making it look patchy.

Also that the shape of the pencil is too big- after many uses it’s more like an eyeliner sized nub. I also have the shade soft black as I just dyed my hair black. The left is the color soft black, right is no product except revolution brow soap.

I don’t understand all of the good reviews, unless they’re fake. I am a photographer and makeup artist and this is the worst brow liner I’ve ever used. It’s cakey and sticky, the applicator is clumsily thick so any application is heavy handed and unnatural looking, the liner crumbles easily, and the colors are terrible, which is so strange to me when Revlon also has the BEST inexpensive brow liner on the market, the Revlon Colorstay Brow Creator (amazing colors, including colors appropriate for ash colored brows which is impossible to find, fine tip applicator for nuanced and natural brows, perfect amount of pigment, and while not designed to be waterproof, it wears all day once set.

) Sadly, Target isn’t carrying the Revlon Colorstay Brow Creator anymore (just add to the list of awesome things Target has discontinued that I’m bitter about. Don’t get me started on Threshold’s Performance Cal King sheets.

I’m still bitter. ) Long review short: don’t waste your time on this liner. Try the L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Definer Eyebrow Mechanical Pencil, instead. It’s not as good as the Brow Creator was, but it’s better than this pencil by a mile.

I didn’t know that they still made this. I’m glad it’s still around. I have black brows, but I’m fair and my hair is like a medium/dark brown. It’s difficult to match brow products bc black can be harsh but a lot of browns, most of them really, don’t match.

They look very obviously brown against my brows. This is one dark brown that works really well. It’s cool enough to blend in with the black, giving a really natural look. I don’t like that the pencil is sort of thick, which can make really harsh lines.

Then again I don’t like micro pencils bc of how easily they break. Honestly I wish there were more traditional pencils for brows and not so many mechanical pencils, but I digress. Anyway I just use a light hand w this and it’s fine.

Also I really only shape my arch and tail. I leave the front of my brows alone. It looks way more natural to me that way. I will probably repurchase this in the future. It was a great color match and like all colorstay products, it lasts all day.

I’ve consistently used this brow pencil for over 3 YEARS and I’m never looking back! It’s affordable, and it WORKS. The pigment is rich with a smooth application. Kind of like applying a foundation stick.

on your brows. The doublesided caps are great for purse carry and convenience of ONE tool. For the reviews that says it breaks > that’s just user error. this is super secure & easy to twist up or down.

Bought this a few weeks ago. THE best brow pencil I’ve ever used. The dark brown is perfect. I’m blonde but love having dark brown brows and its a great colour. My brows are quite sparse but this pencil can shape and fill them beautifully.

Quite a soft crayon like feel but does stay on all day. You do need to use the brush though or it’s too harsh but the brush is fabulous quality and makes the brows look super natural. Love, love, love this.

Will be buying again.

I love this product and let me give you my reasons. I have tried a good share of different eyebrow products and this has been the best one. It’s the only one I use now. It’s true to colour and formula is very nice.

I use the soft brown shade which is ideal when filling in the front of my brows and then I press a little harder when filling in the mid and ends of my brows and it’s perfect. It’s a thin pencil which allows my to draw some really needed eyebrow hairs but despite it being thin it hasn’t snapped or anything.

I love the style; it’s one of those roll one that don’t require a sharpener which is great because I always lose mine. I love that it comes with a brush on the other end too it’s so helpful. Will be buying my third as my second one is close to running out.

Personally I didn’t really like it. The shade went on streaky waxy. It also takes too much tedious work to get thin lines with the shape of the tip on it. I didn’t like how the spoolie end worked. It’s really stiff has hard bristles that don’t blend or distribute color well; it’s too bulky for my liking too.

The price is good I usually like anything Revlon puts out, but this was a miss in my book.
