( Exactly what I had in mind! ) So I had to get it! I love it! Its such a breeze to open the door and just have a more worry free experience! If you have well water even with a water softener the black base will help so much.

Attractive, solid unit. The only problem was the door installation, the hinges didn’t hold and the door slowly sagged. Called Dreamline and they sent black gaskets to try instead of the clear ones. It sagged slightly after reinstalling door with these, but stabilized and works fine now.
There’s slight leakage if lots of water is directed right at the door, but this isn’t troublesome to us.

We were very impressed with the quality of the product. When they said the package was 236 lb. they weren’t kidding. The glass panels are heavy to handle, however, that weight is what makes it a great product.

This product is great because it does save a few hundred dollars as a pre-fab kit as opposed to having custom glass cut. However, there are a couple small things to be aware of. First of all, I am quite pleased with the quality of the kit.
The glass and hardware all look and work great. However, I basically assumed that the glass panels would be totally frameless. Technically that’s true but once the install is completed, nearly every edge (3 of every 4 edges) of the glass has some sort of trim on it.
The bottom edge sits in a tray. The tray looks fine and it does make install easy; it should also aid in the waterproofing. I just wasn’t aware it would be necessary. Also, each vertical side of the glass gets a plastic strip that creates the seal to the wall or the adjacent glass panel.
I assume you could install the kit without the trays and side strips which would improve the finished appearance a bit. However, you may sacrifice some of the ability to contain the water depending on your job.

That was the biggest surprise, and issue to deal with. Yes I should have done more research, but would have never expected that for the price. So now doing my best to assemble in a fashion that does not ultimately feel like a shower less structurally sound than one found in a travel trailer.

The base is quite robust. Set in motar as per instructions and feels solid under foot. Plastic back walls are well-designed, easy to cut and install. They are thicker stock than similar economy units and incorporate a diamond pattern which gives added rigidity.
Aluminum and glass assembly is straightforward and will easily accept variations in plumbness. Quality hardware. The glass side panels are only one quarter inch thickness – my only complaint really – for the cost these should have been minimum 3/8″.
Hope they will hope up if they get bumped. The gaskets really do an outstanding job of holding the panels firmly in place. On a minor note, I found Home Depot’s ability to track this product significantly underwhelming.
That needs improvement and has me thinging twice about ordering again.

Dreamline bases are quality we can stand behind when installing. The glass and door give a clean pristine look. This kit has a base that is biscuit color, my fault, I had to order the base in white.
Nice looking showerbut poor design and of questionable quality: my shower leaks with the first use, the factory assembled flat glass panel and frame leaks, the bottom water seal not hold water as the name suggest, we had to wipe the outside after taking a shower, they should design the base with deep recess to hold water, instead of ( I thought) a generic base.
I had to caulked every seams on the shower now. , the door top pivot crooked and not adjustable ( again, factory assembled item). not sure how long will this shower last, not recommend!.
Unless you have a substantial amount of experience installing shower stalls, this system is not manageable. The instructions do not match the physical pieces and if you do follow the instructions, the rubber gasket on the bottom of the door will be destroyed after two or three uses.
I cannot recommend this unit and am assigning two stars because once it is up, it looks reasonably good.
