The brace has worked great to help support my daughters shoulder. She had a subluxation from a hit during basketball season followed by a few more over the next few months. Too busy with other sports for surgery so she worked on strengthening the muscles around the injury.
Sustained until the end of the following season when she took another hit that caused it to dislocate. The state tournament was the following weekend so we started looking for support solutions that would allow her to play.
This brace provided enough support to keep the shoulder secure but still allow range of motion for basketball. She took a few hard hits and did not experience any more subluxations or dislocations. Customer service was on point from Shock Doctor.
We live in a remote location and they were able to get it to us in enough time to fit and get used to it.
Based on what I have be told by other people, and what I have seen in a couple online videos, this is the most versatile shoulder support available. But it is complicated. I have not yet successfully adjusted it for support.
The manufactures should create an in-depth video on (1) the basics of putting it on and fitting it properly, (2) details on assessing what type of support your shoulder needs, and (3) details on how to adjust the brace accordingly (especially the “X” strap).
There are instructions included, but a video is worth 10,000 words. Until then, my Shoulder Support is useless. After I get sufficient documentation, this easily becomes a 5-star review, and I will be in position to complete this questionnaire.

The Don Joy Ultra Sling IV has a very comfortable sling. However, when you order a size Small, only the sling is small. They apparently think the shoulder strap should be one size fits all, but the strapping system with it’s various parts can not be adjusted small enough so that the part that goes under the shoulder works.
Fortunately the waist strap was so long that we were able to cut it in half and use one half around my waist and the other half over my shoulder. We now have no use for the parts of their shoulder strapping system.
The new Don Joy price is too expensive to have to do the work to re-make the strap so it fits a small person. But the much better price on ebay (and a little ingenuity) made having to make the modifications a good deal.
I switched to this sling from the one I was put in after my rotator-cuff surgery. I think IV version probably has good improvements from earlier renditions. It definitely took the pressure off my neck which was the biggest problem with the old sling.
I wish the surgeon had initially put me in the DonJoy one. I still came up with some of my own additions to make the 24/7 wearing more palatable. I added faux (for cars) safety belt covers on 2 of the straps.
I also split a small memory foam travel pillow, in half, to make it less thick so I could cushion the lining in the sling. Please DonJoy, offer these! This provided a lot of relief and comfort.
Worst post op medical device ever. Breaking it down, the shoulder strap has zero padding and doesn’t sit on the shoulder, it cuts unto the side of your neck. The adjustable velcro is wider then the straps and get caught in long hair and scrapes the sides of your neck, the arm sling area does not breath so your arm will roast and break out in heat rash.
As for one’s arm, well the hard end will rub your elbow raw. Let’s also add in it is not hypoallergenic – I have hives from this poorly designed piece of junk.

I purchased the McDavid Thermal Shoulder Wrap in the hope that it would provide the support that strapping was for a recently damaged AC joint. The support provided by the support was very good, and the simple Velcro strap adjustment gave me support that almost rivalled the tape strapping.
On the negative side the underarm comfort is terrible. Either the sizing is not accurate, there is a design issue or the wrap was designed for a circus freak. The underarm scallop is nowhere near deep enough for the shoulder cuff position above.
In my case my shoulder would have to be 3cm further down my arm. I measured my chest smack in the middle of medium (which I bought)but found the wrap bunched in the underarm and caused discomfort after wearing for more than 30 mins.
I don’t know if I could wear it for that long if I was active. Overall I’m still pretty happy though because for the periods I wore it the shoulder felt well supported and it suited the purpose for which I bought it.
The information, service and support given by your people was very good. The shoulder support is of good quality and comfortable to wear and indeed does give good support to the shoulder. I would have no hesitation recommending this product to my friends and family if they required this item.
Outstanding product. Currently dealing with an impingement and instability issue in my non-throwing arm, this product allowed me to continue winter training and into spring. Without it, I was forced to bat basically one-handed, and had difficulty fielding ground balls on the backhand.
With it on, all is not perfect, but it is doable. Thank you. I tried other more expensive similar products, and they either cut off range of motion too much, or didn’t provide any support at all. There are two similar products, one aimed at the motocross crowd, and the other by a company with “doctor” in their name, and neither actually do anything but make your arm and chest sweaty, lol.
So, if you don’t need a sling or an immobilizer, this product actually does a great job, and allows you to continue training at a reduced intensity, which is exponentially better than not training at all.

While this is exactly as advertised, I was very concerned abut the bicep fit. I have ginormous old lady biceps and I’m not able to fasten the hook and loop bicep adjustment bands what so ever. They are too short and don’t even make it across to the fabric to hook on to.
I have to fold them back so they don’t rub up against my clothing and bra. There is a very flimsy mesh panel the attaches the two sides of the bicep support band but can’t say it really provides any support to my bicep and that is where part of my injury is.
It will require some modification which I’m disappointed I will have to do myself. I wish they would have provided some extension pieces like come with the hot/cold device I also purchased. Perhaps one of those will work.
have it on as I’m typing this and once I got used to the compression on my upper shoulder which was a bit painful at first, I do feel i have better support overall and hope it will help in preventing re-injury in my day to day doings while things heal.

I recently had rotator cuff surgery and was given a Breg Slingshot 2 by the hospital to wear for 6 weeks. The strap across my neck was very uncomfortable after only 3 days. My husband had previously used the Slingshot 3 and said it was much more comfortable, so I ordered one.
He was right! The Slingshot 3 has an extra strap that keeps the shoulder strap away from your neck and more evenly distributes the weight. The only issue I have is that the bump on the 3 is larger than on the Slingshot 2, so I did a bit of maneuvering and now use the smaller bump with the Slingshot 3 sling.
Much more comfortable than a regular over the shoulder sling!!.
I came home from rotator cuff surgery in the Breg Slingshot2. I have herniated discs in my neck and by the third night was in spasms from the strap weight on my neck. I saw videos for the Slingshot 3 online and ordered it at once.
The difference was immediate, with the strain on my neck greatly reduced. If you have to spend 6 weeks in a sling, this is the way to go. Sizing runs large, so in doubt, order one size down.
Totally unsupportive unless you’re fat. your arm supports the sling, the sling doesn’t support you. And to make things worse the back strap crosses both your shoulder blades and every strap is a Velcro mess you cannot reach alone.
This sling is the equivalent of a finger in a gunshot wound. To say the least whoever created this high priced garbage should be flogged.

I had re-injured my rotator cuff on a white water adventure in the fall of 2020. I purchased this brace to help in recovery. First of all, extremely happy with the brace support and quality of the brace compared to others on the market.
The product is well priced. However after 3 months of use, the chest loops in the velcro started to fail after confirming hooks are not contaminated. After 6 months it’s no longer usable. I would recommend this product but be mindful that it has a very finite lifespan.
I have not tried to contacted Fortune to discuss this issue, so i cannot comment on their customer service.
So far the brace has been very useful. I wear it during days of high activities as well as time spent during PT sessiions. Therapists see a dramatic improvement in posture and stability while wearing the brace.

Like others, I bought this to treat a shoulder injury and not for riding. It fits pretty small. I bought size large and measure 40” at the chest but this was really tight. Couldn’t wear it for more than an hour before it was cutting off circulation.

As my title suggests, I have a grade 3 AC separation and a SLAP tear awaiting surgery. I got this brace with hopes that I could still ride MX and MTB’s while I wait for surgery. The brace fits true to the sizing chart and definitely adds the support I needed.
For the price, the quality is good and overall I am happy with the product. The ‘X’ strap is in my opinion the most valuable component of this brace. You are able to move it to add compression and support to most different parts of the shoulder.
In my case with the grade 3 AC separation, I chose to move the ‘X’ strap all the way to the top of my shoulder to help tension my clavicle back to a more neutral position. I have found the best results by physio taping my AC joint first, and wearing the brace over top.
All in, I would recommend this product. It does take some tweaking to get it how you want it, yes it does add stability and support to the shoulder and AC joint. It is not a miracle worker, it is a sub $100 brace to make do till surgery.

Both occurred playing racquetball. First off, those who 1 starred this product. You HAVE TO measure yourself (male or female) as a woman would to get her bra size. The sales people at Dicks have the measuring tapes to do that and one did so for me.
The sales person also demo’d one on himself to show me how to adjust everything PROPERLY. As I mentioned above I play the violent game of racquetball and with this support on and adjusted properly I get MASSIVE support and no problems with pain or movement that should not be happening with it on.

Being able to release the air in the bag for better compression is good. I would recommend but definitely wear on top of clothing/ t shirt or a thin tea towel or something to prevent cold skin burn/ damage.
Do not use with ice bag directly on skin, the instructions do not tell you this. Doesn’t commit to say how long can keep ice on. I would say as long as not directly on skin then you can wear this device until the ice melts & replace ice etc.
No harm can be caused wearing it for hours on end as long as your protecting the skin. Easy to move arm whilst wearing so can go about doing other things. For women, you have to strap the device around the back and across the bust.
Under or over the bust just simply doesn’t sit right. For men it’s probably not an issue. Definitely helped me with reducing inflammation – I would recommend. It feels a bit bulky at first but soon get used to that.
I am quite big than general. wears at least XL t shirts otherwise any shirts are tight. This wont fit me. the sticky part barely hanging there. This is one size so make sure this fits you. Says compression therapy device, if its one size and doesnt fit you, obviously it doesnt work that well.
The only i think i like its that ice pack. (but its hard to close perfectly to stop the water leak!!!) Nothing techy, that patent they got is, it allows squeezing out the airs from the ice pack. (it works like those beach balls, you hold the lid tight so the air can go out).
With all these poor designs, the reason i gave 3 stars is because, other products have similar price. If i had to choose, ill probably choose this one.
