I have been trialing Denorex® Extra Strength dandruff shampoo and conditioner. This is my honest edit. Extra Strength Denorex® dandruff shampoo and conditioner is a 2-in 1 product which saves time steps using only one product so thats always a plus.

It is formulated with salicylic acid which is effective at removing heavy flakes and scaling and relieving the itchy discomfort of having a dry scalp. It cleanses gently while being as effective as a regular shampoo at cleansing hair of styling products and everyday sweat, dirt and dry skin leaving hair feeling freshly cleansed.

I was pleased to find that It dosen’t leave any residue and won’t weigh hair down or make it feel greasy at all. it is also enriched with provitamin B5 to provide the body, shine and manageability you expect from using a separate conditioner and leaves hair soft, tangle-free and bouncy which is nice.

if you love your conditioner like i do you’ll really appreciate getting those results without actually having the added step of using a separate conditioning product. Denorex Extra Strength Shampoo Conditioner is great at removing flakes, eliminating itching and hydrating dry scalp while preventing these symptoms from recurring if used at least twice a week.

I have had issues with severe dandruff since I was a little girl, it was beyond frustrating. Nothing worked Head and Shoulders, Tea Tree shampoo, vinegar shampoo, the list goes on absolutely no relief for my severe dandruff/itching.

On top of all this a severe build of dandruff that would just be disgusting everytime I tried to scratch my head. I found this shampoo a week ago, and an instant change. Like a miracle, my overactive oily scalp dried up, the intense itching went almost completely away, the build up of dandruff just gone.

And my straight oily hair didn’t look like a rats nest after just one day of washing. It took almost 4 days before my hair became oily enough where it needed to be washed. I’m completely shocked by how amazing this shampoo solved so many years of scalp issues.

the only reason why I didn’t give this product 5 stars is because it is drying – however I solved this issue by using my regular conditioner. no issue. I started using this shampoo over the summer because I have thick curly hair that is pretty coarse and I always have product buildup which then turns into dandruff.

by my third use, my hair was literally flake free. it’s my favorite shampoo and I urge everybody to try it. i’m aware it might not work for everybody, but it’s done wonders for me. in all honesty, I haven’t even used this shampoo since november because my scalp has cleared up that much since june, for the first time in years.

I WILL ADD: I had a balayage on my hair and it stripped my toner out a little. this didn’t bother me though because I am a hairdresser so I just re-toned it. lol. it might not be the best for color treated hair, but i have not tried that on an actual full color.

This product is really helpful. My scalp was literally too painful to touch the first time I used this, but not because of the shampoo. After I washed my hair, I waited the recommended amount of days as directed on the bottle and washed my hair again.

Within that time, my scalp had completely healed and my hair was able to wash perfectly. With or without your hair being wet, the shampoo gets it really soapy so you don’t need to use that much and there’s no burning or tingling sensation.

It’s supper safe and I would recommend anyone to buy this product if you have issues with your scalp.

My scalp has blemishes, not sure what it is. It happens in summer and in south CA it is almost 7 months. I usually use a therapeutic shampoo from a different brand. This works fast then that other brand.

I know it is different ingredients and price. Just this product works faster and no need to use every day.

Great shampoo, I bought this for my husband who was suffering with terrible dandruff and no other shampoo seemed to do the trick. After a couple of days use his dandruff had completely gone. It feels nice and tingly on the scalp, and it’s soothing and refreshing, highly recommend (just wish is wasn’t so expensive!).

I only use this once a week and the rest of the week I use teatree shampoo and conditioner! This stuff works! After using it once I can feel it getting rid of the oil build up and flakes. I do not even see any flaking since I have started to use this product once a day then teatree the rest.

I highly recommend this! My flakes used to be so bad. They were noticeable on my black shirts and my scalp used to itch at times especially the back of my head but now I’m flake free! No more scratching! I know many have commented on the smell not being the best, but I don’t seem to mind it.

It’s not that bad as the reviews make it out to be. It’s not like you will stink from it! Once you shower with it and come out I don’t notice any bad or good smell. I’ve had my family see if they noticed any unpleasant smell from it and they didn’t smell anything.

I only used this once but oh my god this has improved my hair ALREADY! I was previously using the ogx coconut milk shampoo and conditioner and it just was not cleaning my hair well, left my hair so tangly and knotted and it never felt truly clean.

I had to aggressively brush my hair after I got out for the shower and lost A LOT of hair in the process. I switched to this bc I wanted something to help my dry scalp and wow …. After 1 use I can already feel a HUUUUGE difference.

I woke up this morning and it felt like I had already brushed my hair. It was sooo silky smooth without even having to run a brush through it. It feels clean and has a really good lather to get close to your scalp to be able to really clean it.

That was my issue with the other shampoo I was using. I can’t wait to see how this works after more uses but after the first one I’m very hopeful!! 🙂 I have dove body wash so I’m thinking dove may just be my brand for shower products! :).

I’ve bought so many products for my husband’s bad dandruff problem. He had dandruff that were big pieces, not those light little flakes you see in commercials. I read reviews and he tried all sorts of shampoos from the top rated products to name brand shampoos smelling chemically and pretty awful.

Wow. So my scalp has been so tender, red, & itchy ya’ll! Ok so this shampoo has completely calmed and soothed my ITCHY, DRY & TENDER scalp! I literally fell asleep after my night shower with so much peace.

* Y’all my hair has never looked this sleek and smooth. I have naturally straight hair but the shampoos I’ve been using have been drying out my ends ( I don’t use heat tools) and curling them inward and the winter air jackets I wear have created static so I knew it was time figure out a better solution.

I used the shampoo conditioner just because it’s winter and my hair tends to dry out even more. What’s great about this is that I don’t have to use a hair oil bc the conditioner already does the work of hydrating my ends and reduces dryness and static.

My hair scalp has also been smelling good 48 tested. ( I also didn’t exercise that much-just worked from home). Anywho hope this helps your hurting scalp! Oh, I also chose this one bc it had almond oil not coconut oil bc CO is too heavy for my scalp and makes my face breakout.

* My scalp is always itchy but I didn’t know why. I was using a Pantene essential oil volume one and that thing was terrible! I’ve never struggled with serious issues like others but didn’t realize it was abnormal that my scalp hated so many products.

On this particular day I decided to use dry shampoo and it was a huge irritant to my scalp. Hairspray does the same thing too.

I used this for a dry and itchy scalp for 3 months. I didn’t find it to be any better or worse than drug store brands with the same ingredients. It did make my hair very dry but I stuck with it 3 days a week for 3 months to see if it would help.

What did happen was the sides of my fingers, where the nail meets the flesh, first became dry, then thick layers of calluses formed, and then then thick callouses started to split into deeply painful craters.

The skin was crazy sharp from all the thickness and peeling so when I brushed hair from my face, it would scratch my skin. I didn’t realize it was this shampoo for months. I switched hand lotions, I cut and filed my nails differently, I started using thick night time lotions and exfoliants but it got worse.

I started eliminating anything new in my life down to food and laundry detergent and soap and it still went on till one day a light bulb went off. I started wearing latex gloves when I shampooed with this product and in about 10 days my fingers were halfway back to normal.

I stopped this shampoo completely and in about 2 weeks my fingers were almost completely back to normal. I make sure about this I used the shampoo again with my bare hands and the same skin side effect happened.

Since this stuff is far more expensive than others like it and not any better and since it gave me such a horrible side effect, there is no reason to use it again.

I made a pretty harsh review about this shampoo but search after search nothing will give me the same results as this shampoo. I have severe seborrheic dermatitis. I had 2 bad instances after their formula changed when the s & c just wasn’t making any difference.

I got really disappointed because its not cheap. I’ve bought new bottles in between and after those 2 times and it worked its normal magic healing powers. This s&c continues to be the only thing that helps my scalp and skin feel normal and trust me I’ve looked and tried all kinds of remedies.

I don’t need to use my medication when I use this. I’m not sure what was the issue with those to bottles but I’ve since gone on to by 3 bottles and they all give me the same wonderful results.

I have been using this shampoo for a few weeks now after having tried all sorts of products for dry itchy scalps (I experience eczema and dermatitis). I tried many kinds of shampoo: cheap, sensitive, anti-dandruff, expensive, natural, medicated) and none of those worked, some made it worse.

The last week I have noticed a huge improvement, my dry spots have reduced and my flakes are much smaller. My scalp had been terribly itchy often bleeding from scratching so much and my hair thin in places because of this.

Since using this shampoo I’ve not had a need to scratch, my sores have healed and my hair is beginning to recover. I am amazed. I put some in my hand, mix in a few drops of organic rosehip oil (I mix it in most skin and haircare, it is gentle and has great healing properties in my experience but obviously it did not work with the other products I tried for my scalp!) then I massage into my scalp and hair for a couple of minutes and rinse out and use a natural leave in spray conditioner for the body of my hair (not my scalp-it can’t cope with it!).

Healing did not happen quickly and for a couple of weeks I thought I had wasted my money but I highly recommend this shampoo, it takes time but is worth persevering with it and I will be trying an aveeno conditioner in the future.

I’m not one for writing reviews but felt this needed one! I’ve suffered with an itchy scalp for years and years. I’ve never had dandruff and whenever I went to the hairdresser I’d ask if my scalp looked ok to which the reply was always, yes it’s healthy looking.

The turning point was last year when my boyfriend pointed out that I was always scratching my head! Attractive! I do wash my hair pretty much every day as it’s v greasy but have always gone for more gentle shampoos which I change pretty much every time I buy a new bottle and don’t use products that would cause buildup so becoming a bit paranoid about the constant scratching I thought is it a nervous thing, or anxiety.

I did a bit of Googling late last year and came across this shampoo. The reviews on here where a bit hit and miss but I thought what the heck, give it a go. I am SO glad I did! Have been using about a month or so now, my head stopped itching after about 5 days of use!! The relief is immeasurable! And an added bonus, it doesn’t get as greasy either so am washing every other day at the moment.

Just hope it continues to work and Aveeno don’t discontinue! If you have an itchy scalp but no dandruff etc, just give this shampoo a try!.

I had an incredibly itchy and flaky scalp all of a sudden and it became really sore. I used this shampoo and the soreness/itchyness had completely gone. It didn’t get rid of flakes though. If you have flakes please purchase Superdrug’s Trichlology tonic – it’s absolutely amazing and so cheap! I use that after shampooing with Aveeno then my normal conditioner.

Scored 4/5 due to not getting rid of flakes and it is pretty expensive for the size of the bottle. It does work though – definitely worth a bash.
