Country Manufacturing Combination Hay and Grain Horse Feeder
For the corral or stall.
Hang onto your fence or trailer, or mount on your stall wall.
2 ft. wide x 1 ft. deep x 2 1/2 ft. high. Holds a bunch of hay and 5 gallons of grain.
This Combination Grain and Hay Feeder makes feeding livestock easier by having just one unit for hay and grain. This combination feeder easily mounts to a stall wall or can be hung on a fence or trailer.
Made of rugged 16-ga. steel construction with heavy steel hay bars, this feeder measures 2’W x 2-1/2’H x 1’D to securely store hay and hold up to 5-gal. of grain. A catch tray at bottom of feeder prevents wasted hay.
Removable hangers easily withstand punishment from livestock.
Love these feeders in my horse stalls. They were easy to install and I can include their grain in the bottom portion of the feeder along with the hay in the upper part.
Poly Wall Feeder features one-piece molded unit with smooth edges and a galvanized hay rack. Hay rack fabricated from heavy 3/8″ solid steel rod. FDA Approved, Food grade polyethylene that is corrosion free.
Great feeder – note that you will need a drill to punch the holes through to install the brackets. They are started but do not go all the way through. Once you have that done, assembly is easy.
Nice sturdy feeders. I wish they came with adjustable brackets. We needed ours to sit a little lower for mini donkeys. Needed a wider top of bracket to hang them where we wanted. Make sure you get your packet of brackets when you pick up feeder.
Two of ours were missing, they are loosely attached to the feeders.
The bars are a great size for goats and sheep. They cannot easily get their heads stuck in the bars which has always been a concern for me. The size is great, since it can hold 2 flakes of hay in the bars and grain in the bottom.
The only problem I had was mounting it on the wall. It is made to be hooked over a gate but I do not have any gates in my barn so it was a big chore getting it up on the wall. I had to bolt it on to 2 pieces of wood then bolt the wood into the barn wall.
Over all though it has withstood wear and is working great. I am definitely going to get more.
Tough-1 slow feed square bale net with 2″ x 2″ openings. This nylon net slow down horses consumption and create less waste. Perfect for use in dry lots or in arenas where you want to keep your horse busy.
Features: slow feed. Use in dry lots or arenas. Not recommended for horses wearing shoes.
I bought one last winter and loved it, easily holds a full bale with room to spare so it should accommodate larger bales easily. Once they get used to eating out of it and it stretches it wont last as long, but still takes them at least twice as long as loose hay and there is much less waste.
I bought another one this year, I was immediately repairing holes and then the metal piece that holds the top draw string in broke in half (and it is cast, not a good solid metal) after only a handful of uses.
I need a spare one to have ready for the next day so I tried giving it another shot, the 3rd one is holding up great as well as my original from last year. I don’t know if I just got a faulty one but am disappointed that I have one that was just junk and a waste of money.
So I guess it’s a gamble, when they hold up they are fantastic to have. Durability: 2.
Say goodbye to soiled and trampled round bale hay! Tough1 round bale feeders are designed to reduce hay waste and slow down speedy eaters. Made of durable black poly cord these nets feature fixed openings, no knots, that will not stretch out over time like other brands.
Create a more natural slow feeding experience for your four-legged friends and save money by getting the most from each bale!.
The Freedom Feeder Bale Size holds a full 110-pound bale of hay and 1 1/2″feeding openings keep your horses eating slowly as nature intended. It optimizes your horses’digestion, keeps them occupied and cuts your feed bill, too, as less hay is lost to trampling.
This original slow feed net feeding system is manufactured in the USA of extremely durable, yet soft, woven knotless nylon. It offers the freedom to move away from meal feeding, bringing your horses back to their natural feeding instincts.
Measures 4 1/2’x 5’and holds 3-string 110# bale or two two-string bales. Comes with two 3″safety hanging clips at top corners, two 44″cords on bottom corners and 7’closure cord attached. Spares kit includes repair cord and two 44″alternate hanging cords.
It should be hung high if your horse wears shoes or is playful. USA.
Lifetime warranty is not what you might hope for. I tried this net, love the concept and was happy with it until a new hole (gaping) appeared daily. Company will take a very small amount off the purchase price of new net.
I have an OTTB that needs forage 24/7 and is stalled at night. He has ulcers if he doesn’t eat consistently. This net has provided me with an easier way to make sure he has hay and it doesn’t have to be a round bale, which is hard for me.
The net is very soft and durable and easy to get on a square bale. I use a large water trough so the hay is off ground and it catches the smaller pieces. I attach it at the top to a part of the stall panel cause he does tend to toss it around if not.
The only drawback is the color of the net is white and after one day it looks dirty. I wish they would have a darker color net so the dirt doesn’t show. Also, be careful when you cut the hay strings.
I made the mistake and cut the net with the first bale. It was fixed easy by tying a know but made me made that I did that. Don’t know how hardy it will be after a year of use, but after a month it seems to be holding up fine.
Molded from the finest corded rubber on the market, nothing matches the pliability and strength of DuraFlex rubber. Crush-proof, crack-proof, and freeze-proof so you can use it outside year-round. A great all-purpose tub that holds up to rugged use and abuse.
Rubber is naturally safe and soft for animals. Perfect for large feeding jobs. Holds 15 gallons.
OK, for what it is, it is good, well constructed and would serve its intended purpose. I just bought this to use as a container for something about 22 inches diameter. I selected it based on the dimensions listed as over 26 inches diameter.
It is not. The narrow part is only 18 inches in the interior, and the top is just 25 inches diameter and will not work for what I had hoped to use it for. Just leaving this review for anyone else who wants a specific dimension.
I needed a portable water tub that I could easily move from one pen to another and this feeder was perfect. I have six Boer goats and 10 kids plus a guard donkey and sometimes need to put extra water out for them.
This tub is short enough that even the 4-week old kids can reach the water. It’s easy to clean and fill which is a plus since I’m 72 y/o with some physical difficulties.

Went together fast and very easy. Good quality. Perfect height for my sheep, including some weaned lambs. Yes shipping is expensive. It ships via semi truck, so I suggest you get it “Shipped to Store”.
While I have a ranch with a turn around, I opted to meet the truck at a gas station a few miles away. Box it comes in is not that heavy, 70 lbs apx. No discount or free to get it shipped to store, and IMO you should at least get a discount.
The problem is that even with a hay bale in it, the sheep can knock it over. I don’t know if they are rubbing against it or? I had to use stakes hammered in the ground at each leg and wired the legs to the stakes.
I thought I could use the pan as a grain feeder, but it will not work. Feed ends getting pushed to the center. This is ok for ewes, but not rams with large horns. Very happy overall.
Fits a full bail of hay to make chore time easier. Tray is great for holding grain. Very easy to assemble. Multiple goats can all feed at once from all sides compared to 2 on a wall mounted system.
I’ve been running the Yogoata co-op for 10 years now, and I started out with what was on hand. When someone gave me a feeder similar to the above one, I saw that more goats were able to eat from it without one bully goat dominating the feeder.
The three I bought from here are actually better than the gift feeder I was given. They are sturdy and working great with my 24 goats- it was a very good purchase for Yogoata! Just yesterday the burros snuck into the barn and ate from them as well before I threw them out.
I like how both how they look and how they function.
This extra deep corner feeder is ultra-tough boasting a 1000-denier mesh bottom and comes complete with three double-ended heavy duty snaps and nine heavy duty grommets to ensure the proper fit in any location.
The air-permeable mesh bottom allows dust and debris to fall through and resists mildew. Finished off with nylon webbing edges and reinforced grommets at each corner, this feeder can be used in slant load trailers or as a corner feeder in a stall.
I can’t say I have actually used the bag yet, although, the constructions appears to be good and I don’t doubt it will hold up. It didn’t fit perfectly, but better too big then too small. I tied two of the eye holes together with a cable tie, and it fit perfect.
Exception being, I have a new Featherlite trailer and the rings are rubber coated making them quite large. The hooks that came with the bag (which I’d considered a bonus for the price) won’t work because they aren’t large enough.
I’d recommend to the manufacturer to use the large carabineer type snap hooks–which I ended up buying and they worked great. The depth of the bag seems good, and I think will work well.
Product is bigger then I expected! They only reason I will probably keep them is because returning them is stupid expensive. $30 UPS and $44 USP. I sadly will probably order from amazon they were a few dollars more but with free returns if unsatisfied.
Much larger than I thought!! Perfect for my use! I have some very fragile alfalfa hay that gets wasted in a haynet & on the ground. This safely holds the fragile leaves! Love it!
Provide necessary feed to your cattle easily with this Rugged Ranch 3-in-1 Hanging Feeder. Made from powder coated steel, this feeder has excellent strength and is corrosion-resistant. It is equipped with robust clips on back to make hanging easier on the walls or panels.
This feeder has two slots for holding both hay and grain which makes it a very convenient way of feeding.
Sturdily built and seem like they’ll be durable. Painted not powder coated and the paint seems to scratch off pretty easily. I did drill some holes in the bottom to allow water to drain and some holes in the back to mount to T-Posts.
I bought 2 of these to use to put alfalfa out for Axis deer that free range on our property. Just put them, hopefully they’ll last a good long time. Overall good quality for the price.
It’s made very well and worth every penny. The goats like to step on the tray and use it as leverage to get to the hay. Unfortunately, if you don’t hang it high enough, the males will pee all over their salt and pellets.
Crunched hay accumulates in the tray and needs regular cleaning. I’d prefer no tray if I ever buy one again.
Nice feeder. It holds a flake of hay if you don’t break it apart. Otherwise “fluffed up” maybe half a flake. Works great for my mini donkeys. I bought two…one for each of them.
The Freedom Feeder 4ft Round Bale slow feed net will help prevent waste and keep your horses eating longer. The 1 7/8″ mesh openings are ideal for horses and ponies of all sizes and forces them to eat in a style that mimics natural grazing.
These nets will also fit over the large square bales. If the Large round or square bales aren’t available in your area piece of cake all you need to do is create your own by stacking your existing bales of hay and tossing the net over the top and pull the draw cord to cinch up the bottom.
I bought two of these and have used them about 3 weeks. The concept is good — far less wasted hay, slows horses down resulting in better control of nutritional intake, etc. But this particular product is very flimsy.
In three weeks of use, I have had to mend two massive holes and one smaller hole. Thank heaven for twine and slip knots as the repair material that was sent with the bags is just a giggle. I could understand if the horses were wild idiots using the bags for a soccer match or something.
They are simply doing what horses do — eating. I’m very disappointed in the quality and not happy about the obvious replacements that will be needed far sooner than later. Durability: 1.
Fortiflex Hard Plastic Feed Tubs are round 30-quart feeders made with Fortalloy rubber-polyethylene blend for exceptional strength and toughness even at low temperatures. These are oversized which makes them good for horses who like to play with their feed and overspill onto the stall floor.
Mount all 3 sides to the stall wall for best results.
I guess I should have read the description better. This is a heavy duty bucket; it is the size of a mini muck bucket. I have a TB that throws her feed everywhere. Not sure how to hang this thing yet, so no review on how well it will help keep her feed and supplements IN the feed bucket and not all over the floor.
For years I have used the Horsemans Pride feed tubs – but they have gotten extremely expensive and hard to find. I have show horses that are locked in their stalls a good portion of the day, and they take it upon themselves to destroy their feed tubs in my absence.
These are the only feeders (short of the horsemans pride) that actually last. They aren’t as pliable as rubber so the hooks don’t rip out, and they aren’t as ridged as other plastic tubs that break when they are sat in, or crushed against the wall, or flung in the air.
They are EXTREMELY cost effective, with the cost of snaps now-a-days, you are basically just paying for them and getting a free bucket. The only thing I would change – make the hooks removable, I have a couple that have to hang on a flat wall, so I can only use 2 of the hooks.
I had to use bolt cutters to remove the 3rd hook for safety reasons.
Tarter’s Titan cattle feeder is designed for large round bale feeding to cattle. This proven, heavy-duty product is engineered to withstand the harshest environments and herds of all sizes. It is constructed with 1-3/4 in round high-tensile strength steel tubing and is also offered with a 17 in hay saver ring for feed savings.
The S-bar design prevents calves from getting inside the feeder.
This is a solid product that is well made and designed. I put it off for a long time due to the cost, but I was tired of the goats throwing hay everywhere. With this feeder, it catches most of what drops in the feed tray.
The tray is also nice so snacks can go in one place instead of always setting out snack buckets. We have ours outside, and use a small tarp flopped over the top with wood across the top so it is protected from fain, and they just stick their heads under it to get to the hay without an issue.
This has been very a real game changer! Very efficient and my goats seem to really like it. My hay use and waste has been cut in half! Goats can be very messy and wasteful. Once the hay hits the ground they usually won’t eat it.
The try at the bottom traps all the leafy goodness of the alfalfa, and they will now munch on the rest throughout the day. Very little waste. I fashioned a lid for the top so the big goats can’t get to it and it helped keep it more civil between them.
We have some young Nubian/Nigerian Dwarf X and this feeder is really the perfect size. I have the cinder blocks there but they do not need them. They like the boost they provide and it’s an attempt to wear their front hooves down a tad but they are totally good eating from this feeder without them.
Happy with this purchase. I am giving it 4 of 5 stars because it arrived with one leg slightly bent so I need to keep a rock under it to keep it balanced. A bit of a bummer, but oh well. I am a fan of the entire Tarter line truth be told.
Super functional and effective feeders and water’s for our critters. Tried uploading images but the upload feature hates me.
Tarter’s Galvanized Cradle Bale Feeder helps keep round bales off of the ground, minimizing hay waste and reducing feed costs. This product features a removable gate on one end for easy loading, as well as skids for transport around the farm.
I did a lot of research before deciding on this feeder. The only place it was available was RK, so I trekked an hour to go get it. It was dark when they loaded it into my truck, and when I unloaded it and tried to assemble it the next day almost all the tube “sleeves” that other tube pieces needed to go into were bent and smashed up to the point where I could not get it together.
I had to drive another hour back to RK to return it for a new one. I checked all the parts before loading it the second time, and they were better. However, when assembling, the “gate” barely fit into the holes the way it was supposed to, and a hammer was needed to get it all together.
I don’t think I will be able to easily remove the gate to put bales in, so I will just have to load them from the top. I like the idea of this feeder, but it could certainly use some quality control when it comes to construction!.
I used these feeders for horses and was very happy with them for 2-3 years, until the day one of my retirees put a front leg in between the bars at the corner of the feeder. His foot was trapped in the bars, and his front leg was completely destroyed.
He had to be euthanized as a result. As safe as these feeders might look upon first inspection, they are not suitable for horses. Please don’t make the same mistake that I did.
Great concept! I added some Keystone Steel Wire Fence, 94925 Panels to reduce the excessive waist of hay loss. Only time will tell the longevity of this product. The plastic caps in the detachable gate are an annoyance, they keep popping out every time it’s taken off when replacing hay bales.
Tarter’s Steelcor Cattle Hay Feeder is designed for high pressure, heavy use environments. The slats on this round bale feeder are welded on the outside for extra strength from cattle pushing against the feeder.
This product is 45 in tall and 8 ft in diameter for round bale feeding and is standard with our durable, corrosion resistant powder coat.
The slot’s are pretty narrow for horses. However the ones on the ends are wider. It has some pretty tall and sharp edges where it connects in the 2 spots on top and bottom and it does not lay completely flat because of the edges.
Wouldn’t recommend for horses. Especially if you are using a hay net it will get caught/snagged on the edges. Definitely a NO go. And the coating be extremely careful the staff when loading it drug it in the parking lot on the ground like he didn’t have a care in the world until I raised my voice.
So far so good. This is for cattle but upon reading the reviews I bought one for my horses, edges are rounded so o risk of cuts. I added pool noodles with duck tape to wrap around the place where the panels are joined together.
Using with a hay chicks net One out of four horses is rubbing her mane off. I talked to a gal that has been using these for her horses and she said no mane rubbing on any of hers. I looked at the round bale feeders for horses that were in stock in the yard and they already had rust and sharp edges so I chose this one.
Be warned that other brands of cow feeders used for horses can cut horses as they have sharp edges. this tubular one is great.
This ring was easy to assemble and is holding up great with our little heard of Angus. It was definitely heavier duty in comparison to some of the less expensive ones. Good compromise between price / strength & paint.
Very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy again.
I bought 4 of these for a small herd of medium/average size 750-1000lb cows. No bulls in this herd of 24 cows and heifers. Within 2 weeks the first one was completely destroyed. The other 3 followed one by one within a couple of months.
The metal is so weak you can literally bend the tubes by hand. All I have is a large pile of bent and broken tubes. For the same money you can buy 2 good quality rings like Preifert.
Works well for our small herd of Herefords. Typically we have 4-6 head on a feeder. The only complaint I have is they do pull hay out of the gaps on the very bottom so some does go to waste if they mess on it.
But, thats an easy fix on our part. FOR THE PRICE this is a great small farm round bale feeder – less waste than throwing a round bale out in the field or in the barn.
So far so good. I did add hog wire to the bottom so hay could stay somewhat in the ring and i added a small tarp. All three items were bought at ts. I did all the work tractor supply just sold me something that should take 20 years to rust.
Get back with me then for a real review. Heck its only been 2 weeks sure its all still nice and pretty now and a wild cow hasn’t mashed it in like a tri fold wallet Yet.
The Behlen Country Open Top Bale Feeder features an open-top design for easy feeding. This horse-safe sheeted bale feeder flaunts a powder coat finish.
I have 6 big horses and needed something to replace an old wooden hay box that they couldn’t destroy. This County Line equine steel hay feeder was the perfect solution! It is very solid made and has enough weight that the horses can’t easily push it around which is very important in our sandy areas here in Florida.
I bought 2 of these at different times. Comes in 3 pieces that bolt together. Easy to transport and, with a second set of hands, assembled pretty easily. The metal panel around the lower half is valuable at preventing hay from being lost around the bottom.
Hay waste out of the top is a factor of horse’s behavior; 3 drafts feed from one and waste about 20%. The other is used by another 3 drafts waste very little; more like 5%. The design of this feeder sves hay from being wated from the bottom.
It was a good ring, But only a few animals can feed at a time. Good for saving hay, but the dominant animals get all the hay and the dominant animals are the ones that don’t NEED it. The legs (there are 3 of them) rust out first, Not bad, it would be like every other hay ring sitting on the ground, Right? Wrong! Once one leg goes, and the animals start to push on it; the ring breaks down at the joint due to the torque.
So, the high quality ring that should have lasted 6 years – dead, deformed mangled. mine lasted less than 3 years. “NOTE TO SELF”, if one leg breaks off. bust off the others or I will LOOSE THE WHOLE RING.
I fell for it, because I thought keeping it off the ground was genius! A am not buying this again.

Mit den langen Halmen ist der Ball morgens komplett leer.

We have 3 horses and purchased this hay feeder so that they could not destroy the bales before they finished them. We cover it with a tarp when the horses are in the barn and bad weather is expected.
The weight is light enough that it can be easily moved to different locations in the pasture. We are very pleased with our purchase.
Tarters Adjustable Hay & Grain Feeder allows you to feed hay and grain to a variety of animals with ease. The variable height design allows livestock to eat at comfortable height, while the V-shaped hay rack helps prevent hay waste and provides stability.
Feeder adjusts from 50 to 77 – making it a great option to feed hay and grain to everything from goats and sheep, calves, and even horses. Durable poly tub comes equipped with drain holes for water. Superior E-coat finish provides years of worry-free use.
Frame is sturdy, but pan is plastic. Use to be when you ordered online and had it delivered to the store, shipping was free. If your gonna charge freight, they should get that right. But the pan/tray was dented and a bolt was missing to adjust it.
Be ready with a rubber mallet to knock on the frame in order to adjust the height, because it is not an easy slide adjust. Only had it for 4 days now as I write this review, using it to feed one horse with cows in the same pasture.
So far none of them have knocked it over and horse is eating out of it with no problem. Overall satisfied, but always a bit disappointing when your product is damaged. I would have given it a 5, but for that.
Great feeder, very sturdy, works well for weaning calves. Light enough to drag around. Drilled holes for drainage, really like how the tub base is divided. Is a bit pricy, but worth it. Definitely would buy again, wish I would have found this years ago.
I didn’t adjust the height, kept it how it was shipped.
This is a great feeder, it works fantastic for goats. Especially for the price! I can feed them hay and grain them in the same feeder. The pictures don’t do it justice, it is more sturdy and bigger than it looks in the picture.
I also have cows and horses that have used the feeder and it works great for them too !.
This 3 Block Bull Mineral Feeder from Behlen Country is tough enough for bulls, yet easy enough for small animals. The self-closing rubber cover keeps out rain, snow and dirt. Made of poly and rubber materials, which are corrosion-proof and will withstand cold temperatures.
It has three compartments to hold mineral. Weight: 42 lbs. Feed Capacity: 3. 5 cubic feet. Dimensions: 40″ x 7″. Salt block shown in image not included. This three block bull mineral feeder from Behlen Country is tough enough for bulls, yet easy enough for small animals.
The self-closing rubber cover keeps out rain, snow and dirt. Made of poly and rubber materials. 3 Block Bull Mineral Feeder – Gray – Behlen Country.
I am very happy with this mineral feeder! After shopping around multiple mineral feeders and comparing reviews, I decided to go with the Tarter Ground Level for a couple of reasons. First and foremost it is light weight – we do an intensive grazing system and so all the gear I use must be easy to move.
Secondly its low and wide profile makes it difficult to tip despite its light weight. I am happy to say after a week of use this feeder exceeds expectations. It shipped quickly to our local TSC, and was very simple to assemble.
It took the steers about 24 hours to figure out how it worked but now they use it regularly. Finally, it has been raining non stop since I brought it home and the mineral underneath is very dry. I highly recommend this feeder!.
Works well but should be better for the price. I Thought it would be heavy duty plastic. It was bent when I received it. I bought two. They work well and the sheep have figured them out first day. The other thing is they’re a pain to put together.
Ordered and had it delivered to store so I could check it out. Was not strong enough in my opinion for a herd of 40+ cow/calf to finish herd. It is very lite and easy to move compared to our heavier bull mineral feeder.
Would probably be just fine for a smaller hobby herd of a few head of cows or for sheep/goats. We love providing multiple mineral/salt options with these type of feeders for the animals to choose free choice.
A round bale feeder is a type of cattle feeder that is designed to hold round bales of hay or other forage. The feeder typically has a frame made of metal or wood, with hay or other forage placed inside the frame.
The feeder may also have a cover to protect the hay from the weather.
Design
A cattle feeder should be designed to provide the cattle with a comfortable place to eat while also preventing them from getting their heads stuck in the feeder. The feeder should have a large opening so that the cattle can easily get their heads inside, and it should be tall enough so that the cattle cannot see over the sides.
It should also be made of a material that is durable and easy to clean.
Materials
Some common materials used to construct round bale feeders for cattle include wood, metal, and plastic. The type of material used will often depend on the climate and weather conditions in the area where the feeder will be used, as well as the budget of the farmer or rancher.
Wood feeders may be less expensive to build, but they may not be as durable as metal or plastic feeders in harsh weather conditions. Metal feeders may be more expensive to construct, but they may last longer and stand up better to the elements.
Plastic feeders are often a middle ground in terms of cost and durability.
Construction
A round bale feeder is a device that is placed in a pasture where cattle can feed on round bales of hay. The feeder allows the cattle to eat the hay without wasting it or getting it caught on their horns.
Installation
To install a round bale feeder for cattle, first clear an area where the feeder will go. Next, level the ground and compact it. Then, set the feeder in place and make sure it is level. Finally, fill the feeder with hay.
Operation
How a Round Bale Feeder Works
A round bale feeder is a device that is placed in a pasture to dispense hay to cattle. The feeder consists of a tubular frame with a hayrack attached to the top. The hayrack is filled with hay, and the cattle are able to eat the hay from the rack.
The round bale feeder is designed to dispense hay in a way that minimizes waste. The hayrack is positioned so that the hay is dispensed at a height that is comfortable for the cattle to eat from, and the hay is dispensed in small flakes rather than in large chunks.
This ensures that the cattle are able to eat the hay without wasting any of it.
The round bale feeder is a convenient way to provide hay to cattle, and it can help to minimize waste.
Maintenance
To maintain a round bale feeder for cattle, one should regularly check the feeder for structural damage and repair or replace any damaged parts. The feeder should also be kept clean and free of debris.
Conclusion
TheConclusion of round bale feeder for cattle is that it is a great way to feed your cattle. It is easy to use and you can put the food where you want it.
