Bought 2 of these, paired with Abu 7000’s. Casts 6 oz. pyramids with frozen clams very nicely. Brings in big Pompano very nicely too. I also have 2 of the spinning versions which I like very well; just like the casting rods better.

Easier on the fingers when casting. Could be lighter, but still very good!.

I had gotten one a while back and liked the way it felt and how it casts with a squidder I bought in 83 it will cast a foot or two with a 4 oz weight so I bought this one so far they are great rods and they cast so far.

This is a very nice surf rod. It is the first Tsunami brand rod I’ve purchased, and I find it very high-quality for the price. It is classified as medium heavy, which makes it a little more sensitive than my heavy rods, but still casts a mile.

I recommend this for its workmanship and performance.

Rod tip broke after 6 months of use, broke on a 18 inch stripe bass. Caught approximately 30 fish on it in a span of 6 months. Contacted the customer service for Tsunami fishing products on Facebook since the company itself doesn’t have an official website for the fishing gear they sell, to no avail.

No one responded to my messages or email, I would recommend going with a more reputable company that’s established enough to at least offer you warranty.

For anyone new to the sport or if you want a good quality rod without breaking the bank, this is a great rod. When I first got my hands on it I couldn’t believe how light it was. I paired it with my stradic 5000fk and 40 lb power pro line and getting great casting distance.

It’s lighter and cast further than my other rods of the same length. Only issue I have with the surf series is that they use the pac bay aluminum oxide guides, which I found was slowly fraying the line.

I wish they would of use the Fuji guide than it would be awesome rod for the price. It’s a quality rod with out having to dig deep into your pockets to get your hands on one. It’s still new but hopefully the fraying will go away after a couple more trips.

I was fishing the surf this fall when a pod of bunker were just out of my reach, so I decided to move up and purchase this rod. Great choice the rod easily adds 20-30 yards to my cast. This rod feels great it casts well and has great power.

Casting this rod is such a pleasure. The rod has plenty of backbone for getting your offering out there.

I’ve been fishing for many years evidenced by my equipment made in America then Japan then Korea and now China. I’ve bought very good quality equipment but mostly very good value equipment like this rod.

The 13′ and 15′ surf rods I own are hard to handle and with an RV purchase in the near future would have been too much for my rod case so I bought this 9′ and hoped for the best. Except for minor issues; some coating drips on top of (no issue with performance) the largest eye and a bit of material that could be left or nipped off it’s near perfect.

I bought it knowing the eyes were not lined but I use monofilament and fish opportunity permits so it’s of little concern to me. If you like braided line this might be a concern for you. It performed very well with my Daiwa long cast 5500 on the Severn River with casts well beyond 50 yards during today’s calm.

I bought this in a 6’6″ MH to take on a 4 day inshore Snook fishing trip in South Florida. I paired it with a 4000 size reel , 20# braid, and we were fishing live finger mullet with 30# leader and circle hooks.

It may have been overkill but I did wench a couple of 30″+ fish out of deep cover with no issues. I don’t think it is a true inshore rod but it served for this purpose and ended up being the perfect tool for the job.

I would totally buy it again. It is well built, nicely finished, and tough as nails. The line guides on this thing are so beefy it just looks sick, but it is also super light. I use the ugly stik elite series rods that I pair with 2500 size reels for bass and I think the Tiger Elite is a hair lighter.

I make it down to salt 3 or 4 times a year and this rod will serve as my “big game” live bait inshore rod. It is a beast of a rod.

You can easily spend $200. + hard earned dollars on a very nice St. Croix, Shimano or similar high end rod, or you can spend $79. on the equivalent Ugly Stik Elite series rod and be very happy, for on average a 1/3 of the cost.

I recently took this new rod to the Everglades National park where we caught Snook, Tarpon, Seatrout, Drum, etc, and it was an absolute joy to use. Lightweight, ergonomic grips, & stainless steel guides with no inserts to fall out.

This is a great line of rods for those who demand performance at an affordable price. If you happen to break one of these rods (I never have in 40 years) you can always purchase 3 more for less than one rod from the overpriced competition!.

Just recieved two Okuma Longitude 9 ft casting Xtra Heavy rods. I unpacked them. I inspected them, and found them to be very high quality, and I would compare them to any of the high priced rods, and I have several of those! The finish on the rods is flawless, they are graphite blanks, with braced guides, and an ergonomic cork wraped handle, with foam cushion above and below the reel seat.

The reel seat is beefy and will fit even the largest casting or spinning reel. I already had two 12ft Okuma Solaris rods, and they have been fantastic. The Longitude is just as good looking, and functional as my high priced rods If I buy any more surf rods, they will be Okuma Longitude!! They are half the cost of the upper crust rods, and have 100% of the quality.

I am pleasantly surprised, and totally satisfied. Mine are casting rods, and I have put Ambassadeur 6500=C3 reels on them, and they balance perfectly. I got xtra heavy, because most of our Red Drum are 6 to 12 lbs, but every so often a 38 to 45 incher strikes, and I need the back bone of a heavy rod to beach the fish quickly to be released without much stress.

I have surf fished for 55 years, and take it from an old salt, you will not be disappointed with the Okuma Longitude. “They come in spinning and casting, from 8 to 12 feet, and medium to x-Heavy. They are half the price, without sacrificing one bit of quality!! A really great value!! I cannot mention my other rod’s names because of the review guidelines, but I did buy these two online from Walmart, and you will not find a better rod for $200.

Great rod value. I use this model for Musky fishing. Dedicated “Musky” rods run $250 to $400. This rod is totally acceptable at less than $100

I love my Okuma rod! It’s hot pink as well! If you enjoy surf fishing it’s a great one to have! I love the ocean and nature and just being outside! It’s calming and peaceful

In the past I had a few bad experiences with Daiwa fishing gear and as a result was skeptical of their products for years. Then a couple months ago I bought a couple Daiwa reels that impressed me for carp fishing and they were so sturdy and solid and casted so well that I use them for saltwater as well.

While the reels were up to the challenge for surf fishing my Carp rods were not so I picked up 2 of these 11 Daiwa surf rods and am so glad I did. They feel so good and solid and cast beautifully. I have so much control over where my bait lands with these rods and have just enough sensitivity to see and feel even the small bites.

I am blown away by the quality of these rods and would recommend them to anyone.

I purchased this rod for a week long stay at Gulf Shores AL. I also rented a kayak to fish from. The seas were 4-5’s so the breakers were hard to navigate. When I paddled back in I was capsized by a wave in about two feet of water with the rod in rear rod holder.

When I flipped the kayak upright, I expected to have a broken rod but it didn’t even have a single scratch. The rod also was checked, uncased, and made it through baggage handling unscathed. My primary use of the rod was live bait with a pompano rig and a 1 oz to a 3 oz.

I have a few surf rods, all cost way more then this one and funny thing is this one is my absolute favorite. I tell everyone how shocked I was with how good this one feels and performs and that it truly is the best 20$ I ever spent in my life.

I reeled in a 10lb striper out of heavy surf just the other day with 30mph headwinds casting a 2oz bucktail. I have the 11’ one. If you surfcast, try this rod. You’ll probably sell all your others. I purchased the 13ft but the model was not available and Ben from the admin team was very efficient and professional to deal with, so I opted for the 12ft as i do only beach-rock fishing. Rod came in two days in a nice rod tube.

|I paired it with Penn Wrath 8000 and went down to the local beach to test the casting distance, I was really impressed how far I could cast with size 6 oz, but no bites that day. On my second trip at the same beach I landed a 60cm Kingy and a solid tailor.

Rod handled the runs and the fish headshakes really well and it was really easy to bring the fish to shore in a couple of minutes. Great beach rod for big fish at an amazing price! I might buy the 13ft anyway once it is back in stock.

Tested the rod on Tailor for a week at Fraser Island, worked a treat. Whilst it’s rolled on a cheap mandrel, and the tip solid tip inserted during manufacture, it didn’t hamper it’s performance. Joints require more work, tending to stick.

Flat section on handle aids good grip performance on larger fish. For the price, was nice to use. Combines nicely with a Penn 750, or upmarket diawa spin reels using braid.

This will do the job. The 3 piece construction looks like it’s gonna hold up. The action seems s bit rubbery at 2oz. But, if you plan this as a having a fun afternoon or two on vacation with a packed up tight car, this will do.

The pieces stay put ok, the reel seat seems good. The guides are ok. The tip guide is brass. If this was a 2 piece rod, it would be like a 50 or 60 dollar one. I’ll define try use it for fishing after work, but more than am hour or two, I’ll be stuffing an airwave elite in there.

Strength and size would be fine for fluke, blues, or typical striper. I’d not want to cast much over 3oz or be jigging inlets from shore. Definitely more of a lure rod than a heavy pyramid weight thrower.

Howevwr, definitely better than a 7ft rod.

Ordered the model (TAC SUS 1103-2) and shipping was great! I live in Texas and notice everywhere was out of stock. Luckily Saltwater edge had it. Didn’t know if this was a legit website or not but I still purchased it.

Luckily I did and now I have a rod to fish for stripers at Texas dams! If it say in stock then they really have it in stock. Also the tube they sent was a heavy duty tube that will guarantee no breakage on the rod! One more thing is that their customer service is excellent.

Ordered the 9 ft Temple Fork Tactical Surf primarily for casting artificials into surf. Paired it with an 8000 Okuma Blue Azores giving a perfect setup for slinging a variety of lures at insane distance! Works great for traditional bait presentations from the beach as well.

Rods are well made with good warranty but the “magnum” action is confusing and ultimately misleading as no other maker uses the term. Slow-Medium-Fast is the usual and understood way to describe rod action.

Be aware that the TFO rods are very fast requiring a lot of energy from the caster to load properly. I have the 11’ northeast special and it’s stiff!.

I am an avid young fisherman. I bought this rod about 4-6 months ago and have used it at least 2-3 times a month. Caught many fish on this rod, amazing action, light weight, perfect size, I thought I could not have bought a better rod.

Until last night when it snapped in half while pulling in maybe a 6-7lb redfish. I was in complete shock and threw all my confidence in this pole out the window. To me at this point in life, it is an expensive rod.

If you have the money to replace it or have no intention of catching fish larger than 5-10lbs or trying to pull your snagged line off the bottom, buy it. If you don’t. Pick out something else because like many of these reviews it will snap in half.

Good size rod for the beach on local perth areas. It is medium heavy feel so will hold up to tailor and salmon fine, won’t feel much on the smaller fish. It has a good flick and flexible but durable enough for constant lure casting.

Rod handle is very comfortable and light, went from a Daiwa 12ft crossfire to this and much better experience. Paired it with a 6000 Daiwa Revros and 30lb braid. good fun with the salmon on. I would look into getting the even light rod option if I could for constant lure fishing.

I’m using the heaviest rating for drums, rays and small sharks such as lemons, leopards, and blacktips. The blank casts well and is powerful enough for 8+bait work. Grips are decent. Dura guides are fine.

They won’t break easily like cheaper ceramics, and I’ve never had problems with wear on other rods. My favorite reel combo for the Squadron III is the Avet MXL, but it does well with my other reels, including the Daiwa Seagate 30, Fathom 15, and Squall 15 CS.

Not sure why but I love fishing short surf rods, 7-8′. When I first took the rod out I felt like the butt section was too long. So I pulled the rubber butt cap off and cut 6″ off and glued it back on.

Now I absolutely love this rod for casting 3/4-1oz plastics to snook off the beach. Its ridiculously light. The tip is so sensitive and theres plenty of backbone when you need it. I just love the action of this rod.

I paired it with a Penn Slammer 3500 and couldn’t be happier. In the fishing game sometimes its necessary to make some modifications to your gear to get the results that you want. This is one of those cases.

Now I have a sweet 7’6″ rod for $70. Can’t beat it!!!.

Wanted to share my first impressions on the Shimano Speedmaster 11-ft (2-6) Medium-heavy. I wanted to get the 12-ft one but I had a Bass Pro gift card and they don’t stock the 12-ft. I used Power Pro 20-lb and 20-ft of 40-lb mono shock leader tied with a GT knot.

I do Surf fishing in Florida and I target fish no larger than 10lbs (Pompano, Whiting, Spanish Mackerel, etc. ). My rig is a Pompano rig with a 4-oz pyramid sinker with two droppers. I am a novice and my casting technique is pretty raw.

Quality of the rod: I come from a Penn Prevail II 12ft heavy 4-8. The fuji KWAG guides are really nice, the rod it is flat black (no shiny coating compared to my Prevail), the reel seat is nothing fancy, I think the seat on my Prevail is better.

The end of the rod has the X-wrap made of rubber, which is nice to handle the rod. Things that I liked: The line just flows off the reel-rod amazingly and quietly, I was able to cast, without much effort, 90 yards.

I think that, with improvement on my technique and perhaps using a more aerodynamic sputnik sinker, I can probably get to 115 yards. The rod only weights 400 grams (14 oz) coupled with my Ultegra, the whole set up weights only 850 grams! (1lb 14oz), which is an amazing ultralight portable set-up to cast for long periods without generating shoulder fatigue.

I finally got to test it out. I’ve been casting 5 oz. With bait but the rod feels like a heavy rather than medium heavy. I like my rods with a little bit softer tip but so far so good. Detecting bites were a little harder due to it being a black rod and too stiff but I like it so far.

Paired with shimano baitrunner 8000d. Havent caught anything on it yet. If shimano can come out with brighter colors or all white. That would be great.

I purchased this rod because the rods I usually get are always out of stock. It was half the price of all my other rods yet it’ll sling heavy baits just as well. It’s got enough back bone for heavy fish yet light enough to detect those tiny bites before my bait gets picked up.

Time will tell how it holds up. Definitely worth the money so far.

I ordered this originally in February and instead of receiving the item I ordered (10ft MH) i got a Marathon Fathom rod. after complaining to customer service, they sent me out a new one. now of course, the rod I received was only 9ft and not the 10ft I ordered.

Dicks still hasn’t given me the product I originally ordered. However, the 9ft performed exactly how I thought it would. and it was awesome. It threw 4oz with a chunk of clam at least 80yrds with ease.

Handled bringing in two schoolie stripers 26and 27″ perfectly. I plan on buying another one. just hope I actually get what I order this time.

Hello. I would like to know if the rod includes rings and if it is valid for fishing with a buoy. A greeting.

I initially bought one of these and it came damaged. The box was fine, but the rod had cuts in it and looked beat up. I returned it and bought 2 more. The 2 in the second order were perfect. These are heavy surf fishing rods and are 5 stars for the value.

The quality is good, but for my needs, this is perfect. I didn’t want to spend much, but still wanted to have the 15 foot rods to chuck my bait and weight out past the breaking waves. At 3 pieces, the rod action is a bit stiff compared to a nicer rod 15 footer that I own, but that one was 5 times as much as one of these.

I’d say order two of these if you want to keep one, because chances are, you’ll get a damaged one. Keep the pieces that aren’t damaged and return one.

As expected. Will work great for what I need. I have one already. Budget rod but if you take care of it, it will last. I like it to surf fish rough waters and the long rod makes for good jigging off the pier.

Nothing fancy, but does the job. if it ever does break, it wont break the bank. Very fast delivery and packaged well.

It arrived on time and seems sturdy. Haven’t used it yet. I read the reviews prior to purchasing it. The two sections hard to take apart is an easy fix (among other concerns). I took wet dry black emery paper and lightly sanded the male section.

Regular light grit sandpaper will work as well. Check the fit as you go along. When done, I put some ultralight teflon Reese grease (sold at RV supplies) and lightly coated where both pieces fit together.

To extend the life of the pole and the guides, I put 2 coats of kit automotive carnuba wax on both the pole and the guides. I masked off the neoprene grip prior to waxing. Leave first coat on a few hours then wipe off with a clean dry washrag.

Apply 2nd coat and leave on overnight. Carnuba protects from the corrosive effects of saltwater and sun exposure. That will extend the life of pole probably a good 10 years. Works great on salt water reels as well.

This rod is light and whippy, great for throwing plugs even at the lightest end of it’s range. I had read some reviews that the rod was breaking on heavier plugs, so fishing a jetty during the mullet run here in Florida I was tentative at first to use it for live bait.

As it was the only rod I had with me I got more and more confident, using it to heave even 15″ mullet into the current. This rod is strong! Great purchase.

I fell in love with this rod on my first visit to tackle direct but ordered it online a little while after my visit. Great quality and finish at an affordable price. I havent got a chance to use it yet but I know it will work perfect.

Sp minnows are like my faves so I figured why not give the rod a shot. I am very happy with my purchase!!!.

I’m never one to buy cheap rods, have fished many Lamiglas, Daiwa, and Shimano Inshore series spinning rods, I wanted a new stick for early season striped bass fishing with a “split grip” and Im happy I did!… I purchased the 7’ H Action Rod about a month and a half ago.

Cast well, 4 sessions throwing 9” Soft Jerk Baits for Striped Bass. Plenty of power to whoop up on “keeper size” Linesiders to 37”. I found I did want a bit more whip so I ended up exchanging the H for a MH action.

Have fished 3 sessions with this setup, casts a lot better than H action, nice soft tip and still has plenty pump to land bass to 42”. For the money…you can’t beat it!.

I’ve used MH and H action bait casting rods in 7 ft length for muskies. I originally purchased for my grandchildren so they could throw smaller (1 oz) lures. I decided to test them out paired with smaller, lightweight reels and 40-50 lb test braid.

I caught and released 43 1/2 and 44 1/2 inch muskies and several smaller fish. These rods have sufficient power to stop and turn a musky heading for cover. I used these rods for most of my musky fishing this season.

The daughter and grandchildren liked them too.

Matched 7’6 rod with Accurist reel for inshore fluke, blackfish, sea bass etc. Pulled up many species including small sting ray 12-15lb, baby sharks easily with this rod. I was quite surprised with its backbone for such a light rod.

Sensitivity to set hooks cleanly on Fluke and blackfish and power to keep blackfish diving back into rock structure. The length of the bottom grip excellent for hookset leverage using your forearm and other hand on reel handle to speedily get to line pickup immediately.

No regrets taking a chance on a budget priced rod.

great rod at any price! This is a very light & responsive rod. I have it paired with a stradic 5000 reel spooled with 20 lb braid, works best with up to 2 oz lures and sinkers. Has I think 9 small concept guides.
