20 Best Red Lipstick For Cool Undertones (2023 Updated)

Prior to trying Haus Labs products I only ever wore nude shades of lipstick. I started by trying several of the darker/brighter shades of the Le Monster Lip Crayons and then I tried this lipstick. I absolutely love the unique shade of this lipstick!! It literally looks like the shade of ruby slippers due to the red foil striping on the lipstick.

This is a universal shade of red that is said to work well on everyone. Both my daughter and I who have different skin undertones were able to wear it and have it look great on both of us!! The lipstick has a great smell as well.

I am SO glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried this new product that I now love!!.

The color is very wearable. I believe that it would look good on a wide range of skin colors. It’s the smoothest creamiest lipstick that I’ve ever put on. It’s not sticky, it glides across your lips.

Sparkley lipstick can sometimes look “not grownup”. This is not the case with this Haus product. The glitter is teeny tiny specks, unlike most sparkley lipstick which has large pieces of glitter. (I put “not grownup” in quotes because I feel that nothing is “not grownup” people are free to express themselves as they want.

Other people may have opinions on it though, and that’s why I mention it).

I purchased the color Hot Date. I’m disappointed with the application and wearability of the Liquid lipstick. In terms of wearability, it rubs right off the lip. After application, I gently moved my fingers across my lips , and unfortunately it removed/transferred.

Even with a tissue it easily came off. This is surprising because my $9 drugstore Maybelline liquid lipstick has extremely long wearability and requires an oil to help remove from lips. I expected the same lasting result from my $20 liquid lipstick.

In terms of the application process, I had to use a few layers just to hide my natural lip color. This is non ideal because added layers of the product create a much darker color result. It’s no longer a soft chocolate brown.

Furthermore, the product moves as you’re applying it. The upside is that the feel of the lipstick is smooth whereas many liquid lipsticks feel a tad sticky/tacky when wearing. Overall, I rate a 2 because I strongly believe in and support minority businesses and because the shipping was relatively fast.

Perhaps, it’s this particular color that gives this result. I still look to purchase other Mented products and hope for a better experience.

I purchased the liquid lipstick in “blood orange”. I absolutely LOVE this color!! I’m Asian with more golden/tan/yellow skin tone and it is amazing. I think the swatches posted look different on different skin tones.

I was nervous to get it because I definitely didn’t want an orange-y color, but don’t be scared by it. This is such a casual or night out color, super versatile. Also good for summer nights or fall! I’ve been searching high and low for a shade that would work for my skin tone.

ALSO, my girl friend who is Caucasian with light/rosy skin tone tried it on as well and it looks AMAZING on her too. Super versatile color, love it!! Can’t wait to try more from Mented.

I love these kits. The lipstick is very hydrating and doesn’t feel dry like the other lipsticks I own by Mac. so that is awesome! I ordered both colors and they are both beautiful. Both sets come with the same lipliner color in “Soar”.

I’m not mad at this, the lipliner is a beautiful neutral shade that I will be ordering more of once I use up the two I just received. I have medium fair skin and the colors are gorgeous. They are more of a pink and pink rouge than what was shown in the tv recording.

Very pretty. The “As If I Care” lipstick shade is the darker one of the two shades available. Very good value for all three. I hope they do more of these kinds of kits.

I just received it today. As of now, great color. I’ve never used primer for my lips so I can’t say anything about this however, the color is so nice. I’m not a nude lip person and this would be considered to me as pink nude to me.

I wear vibrant reds and pinks. It doesn’t last for too long but the softness is so much better than the mat. I’m Latina and the color for my brown skin color is very nice. Strong contender for my usual comfortable kick back colors I’m accustomed to.

I have been wanting for ages to buy one of their Satin Lip Pencils but have always talked myself out of it its too much money, there are other things I could spend the money on, and so on and so on. After seeing how good it all looked in person I caved really quickly and my resolution broke.

I knew exactly what shade I wanted to buy and when I tried it on, I couldnt have been happier. I discovered Rikugien a while back when looking through the NARS website and loved the shade, it looked stunning.

The colour is rosy pink and adds a natural shimmer, the pigmentation is stunning and adds such definition to my lips. It highlights my natural lip colour, whilst enhancing it with a beautiful glittery shine.

Its not the boldest colour out of the NARS satin lip pencil collection, but it is a shade that you can wear everyday and never have to worry about it being too much. It isnt a too pale colour, it adds just enough brightness to your lips and makes them stand out more.

The texture is really creamy which helps hydrate your lips and soften them at the same time. The lightness of the lip pencil means it doesnt feel too sticky or as if it has been plastered on your lips.

Also just because it feels light, it does not mean that it doesnt last as long as other brands lip pencils. The longevity is impressive and doesnt fade away after an hour. The quality of NARS satin lip pencils is beyond amazing and certainly worth every penny you pay for it.

I have already used it so much and it hasnt gone done that much, I have yet to sharpen it. The only improvement that I would make on the product, is that it be like other lip crayons where you twist it as you run out.

I think its probably because it makes it more obvious when the lip pencil is towards the end and also I think the whole idea of sharpening is slightly messy. I really want to buy more NARS lip pencils, I particularly like the shades Biscayne Park, Descanso and Stourhead.

I also have a very long list of their Audacious lipsticks that need to find their way into my makeup draw. Marisa, Anna, Anita, Brigitte, Raquel, Julie, Juliette, Natalie, Kelly and Grace are all amazing colours, so basically I want all of the Audacious lipsticks.

I love the lipstick. I have Schiap, Funny Face and Jungle Red and they are really long lasting. For the content itself, I would give 5 stars. But because of bad packaging materials I remove three of them: I have them a few years now but I noticed that the soft touch surface of the plastic just melts after around three or so years which is unacceptable.

I can’t just put it in my handbag because everything will stick to it and make everything else sticky too. It’s disgusting to hold because it’s not just sticky, it leaves a sticky film on everything it touches.

I tried to remove the surface, put baby powder on it and it helped a bit but still left a sticky residue and made it not nice to look at. I add an image of my lipsticks in three stages of aging. I hope Nars will stop using the softtouch or at least move to better quality materials.

I bought the mini Ruby Woo coz i wanted to try since a lot of ppl was hyping about it. I wore it in the morning, and by afternoon i felt tingling on my lips. And then the next 7 days i cant wear any lipstick coz apparently i had sore on my lips.

It was the first time in my life I’m having it. I didn’t know it was from the lipstick, until i went and get the regular size lipstick in the same shade, because i threw the mini one away, because i thought i was infecting the mini.

It was 2 months after my sore subside, I started wearing the regular size ruby woo, i wore in the morning and by evening my lips felt tingling again! I dont know what you put in the lipstick that cause me to have sores on my lips which i never had it ever until i wear this lipstick.

Dont get me wrong, I’ve wear other lipsticks/products from mac. Its fine, just the ruby woo lipstick. Im very disappointed. My money goes to waste, I’ve only wore both lipstick once and i have to throw them out.

Just be careful.

Love the mini size! I tried it on the minute the lipstick arrived. 6 hours later my son asked why I was wearing lipstick. I had completely forgotten I put it on. My lips felt great (surprising since it’s matte) and it lasted for many hours.

I’m purchasing more of the MAC mini lipsticks. Love them!.

I purchased Blazing Kiss after looking at all of the photos and comparing the side by sides on the arms. I like pinkish brown mauve colors typically but wanted a red that would compliment my fair cool complexion.

This is bright without screaming out for attention. It’s a subtle beauty and with the right lipliner (I used Rush by UD), it’s just a fabulous spring daytime color or a night out in black statement maker.

I noticed quite a few men looking at my lips while talking to me so it seems man approved. I asked my husband, but he just says “love it” to anything. Haha I think this is more complimentary to cool tones and would look awesome on women with any hair color.

I happen to have bright auburn hair so I was hoping to get just as much attention for my lips as my hair, and I think it worked. Other great features to note is the creamy texture and it’s long lasting even after a venti latte.

It doesn’t have a particular taste or smell to it. It doesn’t tingle. It’s well worth the price even though I wish I would’ve been incentivised to review this. Plus the packaging is simple and beautiful-I love the click you hear when closing and opening so you know it’ll stay shut and safe in your bag.

Anyway you should buy it if you’ve been considering it. Just review the colours and what would suit your colouring since I think it’s only an online product unless your in NYC or another big city.

After watching yet another TikTok, I found myself hunting for Wet n Wild products. This lippie popped up and I tossed it into my cart, thinking, “Ninety-eight cents! Just try it!!” My lips feels moisturized, but not ala lip gloss that hair sticks to.

Very nice deposit of pigment. “Dark Wine” is flattering (I think) to olive skin tone. I can’t believe that I haven’t tried this brand since junior high. I’m impressed!.

The lipsticks are perfect shades for my skin tone moisturizing and comfortable. The lip glosses are rich but not sticky. The shadow pallet colors are all shades of nudes and browns some with shimmer and intense long lasting color so you do not need much.

I was surprised with my last order to receive the foundation color sample pallet! I was able to use to match my current foundation color which had been professionally matched. When I put it on my skin it was so smooth and the color was so perfect it just disappeared into my skin and it felt great to so I ordered three sticks.

There is a nice tool on the website that helps you once you’ve decided with your base color is it what color sticks you should pick for your contour and highlight/concealer. Waiting with great anticipation.

Ok, the lipstick is great. I have almost every shade and both matte and semi-matte and this is one of my favorites. The matte and semi-matte look and feel different and I like the fact that I can choose my look.

The only thing I don’t like about the matte lipsticks is the packaging/labeling. The color of each lipstick is written in black against a background that’s supposed to match the color of the product, which means if your eyes are less than perfect, and if you have a lot of Mented lipsticks (like I do!), you will struggle to see which shade you’re picking up, especially for the deeper shades.

Dark Night label is virtually unreadable. Please consider changing the font color to white (like with the semi-matte lipsticks) or something that’s more visible against a dark background and this would be 5 star.

My friends absolutely loves it – combined it with the Foxy Brown matte lipstick. I saw it in a picture and it is simply gorgeous on her! she made note that the lipstick feels buttery when she applies it.

I wanted to hear what she had to say before I considered purchasing the matte version. ( I originally intended to purchase the semi matte formula — but definitely sold on the matte version) No negative reviews at all! :).

I was pleasantly surprised with this lipstick. Most mattes I wear are drying and make my lips feel uncomfortably dry, but this one was a bit more comfortable to wear. I got this in Psychedelic Chili and expected some staining after wearing the product but it really didn’t stain too much (disclaimer: I do put on a primer under matte products so that may have helped prevent staining).

I will say that it is not super long lasting, but that’s to be expected with a lipstick. The packaging is gorgeous and functional. I love how slim it is because it makes it easy to travel with or throw in your purse.

The angled square shape of the product itself makes it incredibly user friendly. The pointy corners make it easy to line the outside of your lips, helping to keep your application where you want it. The packaging is both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

Overall, I recommend this product if you haven’t been a fan of other matte lipsticks since this formula is a little less drying and/or if you struggle to apply lipstick. It’s not the most comfortable matte lipstick I’ve tried but it’s up there, and the user friendly shape of the product makes this a must-try.

I will definitely purchase this product in more neutral shades for everyday wear once I run out of my current products. Can’t wait to see how the other shades wear!.

I recently received Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Matte Lipstick – 416-Psychedelic Chili from bzz agent to try and review and I absolutely love it! This shade is a deep red and gorgeous shade that complements my skin tone.

By the way my skin tone is light to medium, but I think this would go well with every skin tone. Which is really rare when it comes to a red shade, especially a deep red. I honestly don’t usually choose reds because I struggle with finding shades that pair well with my skin tone, but i absolutely recommend trying this one.

It’s definitely one of those great universal shades that would enhance anyone’s smile! It’s a matte lipstick that goes on easily and doesn’t stain your skin or clothing. So if you make a mistake, no problem, which makes it easy to use for any skill set.

It stays in place and doesn’t run or smudge and is longwearing. I have also noticed too that it doesn’t get cakey or messy with longwearing and reapplication. There is no peeling or lipstick build up in the corners of your lips and such.

One more thing this shade goes on lightly, so you can adjust how dark you want the shade to be.

The YSL Rouge Pur Couture looks as luxurious as it sounds. Coming in a selection of reds, fuchsia and orange these lipsticks contain natural extracts to nourish, whilst the coloreveal technology ensures saturation of colour.

SPF of 15+ is also part of the formula. The bullet lipsticks are packaged in a beautiful gold case. The fragrance is a soft pleasant floral that doesn’t add flavour. I have the shade Le Rouge, which is an orange toned red and is a flattering shade with my olive light/medium skin.

The creamy lipstick formula makes for an easy and smooth application. Pigmented colour is deposited on the lips and this shade has a slightly glossy finish. For a lipstick that is not transfer proof, it has decent lasting power.

The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick does not disappoint. It comes at a luxurious price, but the formula is just as beautiful as the packaging. Colour, comfort and longevity!.

I like this lipstick a lot. I got a trial size sample and I don’t normally do reds but my BF loved the color (who also doesn’t normally like red lipstick) so I went back and bought a full size one. When you apply it like regular lipstick, it is really creamy and gives a good color in just one swipe.

I did learn it can come off really easily if you put too much on though (which is hard not to because of how creamy it is). For me personally, I don’t really like long lasting lipsticks. I find them feeling chalky and awkward after so many hours so for this one not being long lasting isn’t really a deal breaker but other people may not like it.

I did randomly try it using a brush one day (I never apply lipstick this way) and it went on so nice with just the right amount of product on my lips. So I think for this particular product, maybe it’s meant to be used with a brush.

It seems to stay on better when applied this way as well. I will definitely be purchasing in other colors as soon as Sephora has a sell on it.

This is my first YSL lipstick purchase, but it will not be my last. I picked blindly for a nudeish-pinkish-neutral tone and it is perfect. I love the gold tube, very luxe and shiny. The lipstick itself has a great blend of creaminess but also a powdery/matte finish without being drying.

The color has a lot of saturation, so you don’t need to apply more than one or two coats. Minimal odor, I know some don’t enjoy a smell to their beauty products. Overall I really great lipstick.
