A shampoo that is rated for colored hair is a shampoo that is designed to be gentle on color-treated hair. This type of shampoo is typically formulated with milder surfactants and is designed to preserve the color of your hair.
Gently cleanse and refresh the hair and scalp with the award-winning Tea Tree Special Shampoo from Paul Mitchell. Developed with a unique formula of natural tea tree oil, peppermint and lavender, the lightweight shampoo effectively removes excess oil, dirt and impurities without stripping moisture.
Experience an invigorated and comfortable scalp with a cool tingling sensation and healthy-looking, revitalised locks that are silky smooth. Paraben free, colour safe and suitable for vegans.
Tea Tree Special Shampoo was originally marketed as a shampoo & body wash. 20 (I think) years later, my family and now adult children still use it that way. It is simply the best product, particularly for the summer months or the tropics (where we live).
Back when we began using it, my hair was regularly colored with highlights and lowlights. Not sure about now, but it was as great for my colored hair back then as it is for my natural blonde with a little gray hair now.
I use conditioners rarely because they give me rashes (even the very expensive ‘natural’ conditioner I use is only ‘the least bad). This shampoo keeps my hair quite healthy on it’s own. I should say that my daughter has long, dark blonde superfine hair that develops split ends like crazy.
She doesn’t use this to wash her hair, but sometimes uses it as a body wash.
Inspired by nature’s expanding cotton flower, this Volume Bloom shampoo takes fine hair that can be difficult to style and plumps it up, giving you long-lasting bouncy volume. Adds lightweight volume and shine paraben-free formula is suitable for color-treated hair.
Made in America. How to use: Apply to wet hair and lather with a massaging motion. Rinse thoroughly.
I was really disappointed in this shampoo that I purchased as part of a volumebloom set (smaller packaging). I have fine hair (chin length) and expected volume. My hair unfortunately remained flat, even after blow-drying with a quality hair dryer.
The smell is fantastic, the hair is smooth, but there is zero volume (the volume was the purpose of my purchase). Not sure why my hair remained flat, perhaps due to the creamy texture. I tried multiple ways e.
g. only putting conditioner to end, no conditioner etc. , still flat. It is an expensive disappointment. I keep searching for a shampoo and conditioner. Not what I expected. I would give zero star if I could.
If you are unsure I recommend to buy the small one first before you buy the big one, to check whether works for your hair as it didn’t for mine. I tried without conditioner, pea size conditioner, only bottom of hair conditioner and hair was still flat.
This shampoo has a very light pleasant scent, not like the Biolage I used years ago which smelled wonderful, but not everyone wants a strong scent. Nice creamy texture. It lathers well for people who like that.
I’ve always read that shampoos that don’t lather are better for your hair but it just feels like they’re doing more when they do lather – you feel like they’re cleaning better. I have very fine hair and this definitely doesn’t weigh it down.
It rinses very clean and does seem to leave hair lighter and fuller but I also feel it may be a bit drying for me even using the conditioner. I will finish it and see if that truly is the case or not, it may be I’m imagining that.
My hair is not any shinier or softer but I didn’t expect it to be, it’s already shiny and soft. I like the packaging very much because it’s the type you can leave right side up or leave upside down when the bottle is getting low and it’s flat on the top so it stands upside down perfectly fine.
All shampoo and conditioner bottles should either dispense from the bottom or be able to be flipped when they are getting low and stand upside down without wobbling or needing to be propped with something so you can get the last bit out of the bottle.

Omega-rich apricot oil nourishes hair from root to tip and creates the appearance of silky-smooth, weightless tresses. Infused with the brand’s signature Pure-Fume fragrance, the shampoo exudes notes of osmanthus, organic orange, crypress, cedarwood and other pure flower and plant extracts to create an uplifting aroma.
I absolutely love & enjoy bleaching the tips of my hair and dyeing them various vibrant colors throughout the year, however, I often stop myself from doing so as frequently as I’d like to because I’m very aware of the potential damage that those chemicals and dyes can inflict on my natural hair.
I am a 33 yr old black woman with locs that reach my rear end. It’s been extremely hard for me to find a consistent product that helps my hair retain some of that moisture and softness that gets lost after bleaching.
The Aveda Color Control conditioner that I received and tested is a clear winner in this department after only one use! I recently bleached my hair and dyed the tips a shade of bright emerald green. It didn’t take long before I started to see that my green was beginning to fade.
I shampooed my hair as usual, but tried the Color Control conditioner in place of my regular brand this time around and. WOW!! I finally didn’t find a sink full of excess hair dye mixed with soap (like I usually see during my wash day).
I also truly believe that the Color Control conditioner did an amazing job of creating a nourishing and protective barrier for my hair, therefore making my hair feel much more alive while both retaining its moisture AND my hair color.
I really appreciate the fact that this product is vegan, plant-based, and animal cruelty free as well! It checks almost all of my boxes and I’m very happy with the outcome. I’d purchase it for myself and I’d recommend it to others.
So, why 4 stars instead of 5? I am sadly removing a star due to the size of the sample Aveda provided, and I will briefly explain why. The sample bottle was just barely big enough for me to apply the conditioner to about half of my entire head once.
I have a ton of very thick kinky hair, and it’s harder to rate the product honestly when I’m only able to test it on half of my head. I also really would’ve liked to try the shampoo and conditioner duo vs.
just the conditioner. in order to gain the full experience. Just my humble opinion for Aveda to consider in the near future. Nonetheless, overall I am still quite pleased! 🙂.
I have used Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner for years. The Color Conserve shampoo lathered well, my hair styled easily after using, the fragrance was acceptable, and it appeared to maintain my color even though it was not sulfate free.
I have used the new Color Control shampoo for over a week now, and I am not impressed. The positive about Color Control: 1) it has a pleasant fragrance 2) it is sulfate free and appears to maintain color okay.
The negative about Color Control shampoo: 1) Color Control does not lather well at all–takes twice as much shampoo as Color Conserve to work up a lather 2) bottle size was reduced from Color Conserve shampoo at 8.
5 ounces to Color Control shampoo at 6. 7 ounces 3) the price for Color Control shampoo is more expensive than Color Conserve. Bottom line, Aveda is charging more and providing 1. 8 ounces less shampoo for a new version that requires TWICE as much shampoo to work up an acceptable lather.
It is too cost prohibitive to use the Color Control shampoo even if I liked the results. I do like the fact it is sulfate free, but I can’t see that it is doing any better maintaining my color than the old version, Color Conserve.
I won’t be purchasing Color Control shampoo again.
First of all, Aveda products are already held in a high regard in our household due to the smell being so pleasant. I love when I use their products, such as this one. I got compliments at work after using the Aveda color control shampoo in my hair! My coworkers passed by and could smell how good my hair smelled.
I also found that my hair did feel a little softer after one washing. That’s was definitely a positive when trying a new shampoo compared to other shampoos in general, let alone a color control specific shampoo.
Not only did my hair feel softer but the color appeared brighter. I will have to consistently use it to see how much longer it helps color last in the hair but so far I would definitely recommend this shampoo to others.
You can tell the Aveda color control shampoo is high end but in this current financial climate, I’m not sure if I would be able to consistently add it into my budget. This would probably be a right after a new color, splurging purchase.

Background: A lot of fine hair, very oily scalp living in a dry climate I got a sample of this and liked it enough to buy the full size. It’s $28 at Sephora or Ulta for 4oz. So, it’s not cheap, but it’s not bad either.
A little product goes a long way so you will have the 4oz bottle for a while. Scent: Okay, this is the only downfall. It is a gardenia/freesia scent that is nice, but definitely there. It also lingers.
When I use this, I put my hair up in a bun, so it doesn’t get near my face to cause a reaction or get on my sheets/pillows. The texture is creamy, smooth and absorbs slowly at first, about 50% in 15 mins, then the remaining absorbs overnight.
I does not totally smooth existing split-ends or course ends. I started using it every 3rd night as a preventive measure to keep the ends from breaking and it works very well for this. Best part about this product – IT IS SILICONE FREE! Many people don’t have issues with ‘cones, but I have learned through trial and error over many years that while silicones may provide immediate results – smoothed split ends, more manageable hair in general, decreased frizzies, the ‘cones accumulate on your hair with repeated use, build up and actually prevent moisture from getting to the strands, which is just counter to what most people are wanting a product to do.
I have done some research on this in the past and over-moisturized hair will become frizzy. So, it’s a balancing act with hair products to keep it healthy with necessary hydration, but not with products built up and causing hair to go dull, limp and frizzy.
This is great for me as I use a shampoo for oily scalp on a daily basis, use a light conditioner mid-shaft to hair ends only. I also use very few styling products: sometimes mousse, other times a Living Proof Curl Defining Styling Cream on the ends only.

I love this shampoo and conditioner. I just ordered another set. I can’t believe how inexpensive it is. My hair stylist keeps trying to sell me the products she has and recommends but I am very happy with these Tresemme products.
When I first bought this shampoo/conditioner combo, I also purchased a Matrix Biolage shampoo/conditioner combo that was the same size but was triple the price. I used both for months. I honestly couldn’t tell any difference in my hair using either.
They both smell good and make my hair look great. I have also used many other designer brands as well as more expensive drug store brands. I will continue to use the Tressemme.
My hair type: long and wavy, frizzy and full at the top. Quite frankly, I never really used products that were not from a salon. Having a relative that was a hair stylist, I was always led to believe that expensive salon brands know best.
However, since I began going to college away from home. all of this changed (since as you may guess), I couldn’t afford buying 40 dollar shampoo and conditioner. So I began my research. At the time I was also watching Laura Vitale on YouTube and if you haven’t noticed, she’s got some nice locks of hair! When she made a video she mentioned that she was using Bain de Terre’s set, and so I stumbled across the Keratin Smooth Infusing collection while checking out the Bain de Terre.
I decided to check it out since it was only 4 bucks. I ended up buying both the Bain de Terre and the Tresemme. I still enjoy using the Bain de Terre, I love the lather of the Tresemme! It lathers so well and smells really good! The smell: really nice and fresh, will stay on your hair throughout the whole day.
⭐ Results: my hair feels soft and light and full of volume. I recently purchased the hair serum for frizz and the heat tamer spray, and I got to say, they work really well together. I would definitely recommend to people looking for an afforable shampoo and conditioner set that will make your hair smell and feel really good.

IšverstiShow in original languagei didn’t like this shampoo the first 2 times i tried it because of the top two complaints: greasy roots and hair feels tangled after shampooing in the shower grease: this is to be expected with an acidic shampoo.
chemically, it just cannot remove as much oil as a conventional alkaline or neutral pH shampoo. my shortish fringe bangs would be noticeably greasy by the second day, and i prefer to shampoo my hair every 3-4 days.
i just shampoo only my bangs a second time in the shower and bam, no more greasy bangs. over time, my scalp has adjusted and the only time my bangs are noticeably greasy by day 2 is after trimming them shorter.
tangled: in the shower, immediately post-shampoo, my hair feels a little tangled, but that’s what conditioner is for. once my hair is conditioned and dry, it’s soft, shiny, bouncy, and the natural wave is very defined.
i do not use any other products or heat style my hair. i dye the top, or outermost, layer of my hair with demi-permanent dark brown dye and the under layer is bleached and dyed teal/green with arctic fox dye.
this acidic shampoo does a great job keeping the cuticle closed and preventing color fading of both dyes. it makes the bleached and dyed hair soft, even the ends. if you want to preserve your hair color, lengthen the time between dye touch-ups, and also enhance your natural wave or curl, give this shampoo more than just 1-2 tries before you write it off.
Ongeveer 3 of 4 keer per week.
John Frieda Blue Crush for Brunettes Blue Shampoo 8. 3 oz This one’s just for you, brunettes! John Frieda’s uniquely formulated Blue Crush for Brunettes Blue Shampoo with tone-correcting pigments is designed specifically for brown hair to crush brassy tones.
Step up your color game with blue pigments for color correcting and balancing those rich, non-brassy tones you love! Neutralize stubborn orange tones in just one use for cooler, brighter brunette color.
Help keep the color off your skin and in your hair for intense cool color and brighter brunette.
I bought this to neutralize the yellow orange tones in my bleached hair because we are constantly told only blue cancels orange. It doesn’t work! First of all, it says results in one wash. what it doesn’t say is “turns yellow and orange hair a disgusting brass tone in one wash!” like it should say! Instead of toning out the orange, it turns it into a brass tone worse than orange and leaves the rest of the blonde hair grey like an old lady! The women on here saying that this worked to cancel the orange in their bleach blonde hair are liars who wanted others to suffer by buying it just to make their hair worse like they did! There’s lots of positive reviews out there that are lies because people are mad they got either no results or worse results from a product, and instead of being honest they seek revenge by trying to make others suffer like they feel they did, when it’s also increasing the companies business.
So i didn’t actually use this. My stylist had told me to use blue shampoo to keep my brunette highlights from turning brassy. I initially brought a salon brand but ended up staining my tub/shower completely Smurf color and returned it.
It was ridiculously pigmented. So I saw this in store and thought ‘hey! A cheaper version, maybe it will work just as well and maybe it’s not so pigmented. ’ I was in a hurry so I didn’t even think about reading the label.
The 2nd and 3rd ingredients listed on this shampoo are SLS/SLES. Isn’t that the whole purpose of the shampoo to help maintain your color? Why are sulfates basically the number one ingredients? I was also told to stay away from these because they cause color fade quicker….
maybe they work? In any case, I ended up returning. :(.
I used this shampoo with the conditioner after my stylist friend told me to try a blue shampoo. I have naturally medium brown hair. After having highlights over the summer for the first time ever I had my hair dyed back to the original brown.
I used only this shampoo and conditioner all summer. I had felt like my hair was extremely dry all summer but assumed it was the highlights. However my hair was so dry and Dana fed it wouldn’t take the dye!!!! I was shocked as I’ve always taken great care of my hair.
I continued to use this set for another month and then randomly used some of my old stuff and my hair felt nicer afterward. I stopped using this entirely and my hair is finally starting to improve in texture but the dried out damaged is already pretty bad.
Repair damaged hair caused by color, chemical processing or heat styling. Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo gently and effectively cleanses and revives hair to leave it nourished, manageable and strong.
Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil, reconstructive keratin and fatty acids, this moisturizing shampoo mends broken strands and dead ends to restore elasticity, moisture and shine. Color-safe. Sulfate-free, phosphate-free and paraben-free.
I was so excited to use the product range even though its quite pricey. Seeing all good reviews made me think that this will probably help my hair get back to normal. However the results of using these products gave me a really bad reaction and a lot of dandruff which was really frustrating.
I couldn’t figure out what was wrong and I didn’t expect that the results would be really bad. The products made my hair nice and soft however my scalp was horrendous. It left me with a very dry itchy scalp and very flaky.
I am refraining from using it and I feel like I just wasted money paying so much for nothing. I have a very sensitive skin and this range just flared up contact dermatitis. It probably works for some but for me it’s actually a nightmare!.
I used this for the first time a few years ago when I went blonde and my naturally Asian dark hair needed some extra TLC. I loved the smell and I loved how soft my hair felt. Since then, I’ve gone natural and went back to drugstore products, I mostly used OGX but I found that my hair would get oily really fast.
I would shower in the morning and by 5pm, my hair felt like it needed a wash again. So I went back to Moroccanoil, and it’s been phenomenal. I shampoo my hair every other day at most, sometimes I go two days before shampooing again but my hair smells so fresh even on the 2nd day of no shampoo.
I don’t use other products like dry shampoo or anything between shampoo days, I just rinse my hair with water to freshen it up. Also my hair just feels healthier, it feel bouncier and silkier. I find that drugstore shampoos tend to weigh my hair down.
I’ve been using this shampoo along with the repair conditioner for about 8 months now. When I first purchased, it was my first non drug store shampoo/conditioner set and I have since went on to purchase a couple other Moroccanoil products (the oil and the repair mask).
I have fine hair with a slight wave, and an oily scalp and drier ends, it doesn’t grow past my chest and has always been an insecurity spot for me. This shampoo works really well for me, it gives my hair a ton of volume and shine and makes it feel super floaty.
The conditioner also added a lot of shine and volume to my ends. Overall my hair looks fuller and healthier than it did this time last year and I feel more confident in it. I personally really like the scent, it smells kind of fancy, but I can see why some people wouldn’t.
If you don’t like a strong fragrance than this probably isn’t a product for you. It doesn’t lather much but I don’t care much about that, I am personally more concerned with how the product makes my hair look and feel outside of the shower lol.
In my first month of use the difference in my hair was dramatic, and I could go 3-4 days without washing it, which was crazy to me because I used to have to wash it everyday. I think my hair has gotten used to the product because I now need to wash my hair every other day, but it is still a step up from before.
I will keep repurchasing this, I think the price is really good for a salon quality product. I have made the shampoo stretch for 8 months, since a little goes a long way.

I was gifted this product by Influenster and Pureology in return for my honest opinion. So when I saw I was going to be getting this voxbox I was super excited bc I had actually gotten a different line from the same brand a few months prior and absolutely loved it! I think this line suits my hair even more! I do have thin hair but lots of it and it’s actually a mix of oily at the roots and super dry and brittle everywhere else lol! This conditioner was really the star of the whole line! It gave my scalp this amazing tingling feeling and when I rinsed it out my hair not only was super soft and easy to comb but it felt minty fresh too! I’ve never had a conditioner do that! Only shampoos and once you rinse out the shampoo you usually go in with conditioner and then rinse again and then the minty clean feeling is long gone! This stayed with me and I loved it! After drying it gave me clean healthy bouncy hair! It felt super soft and shiny but not at all weighed down, it was a great balance! Sometimes with conditioner it can be a little too good at making your hair soft and shiny making it look a bit greasy even as soon as you blow dry so then you already have to spray on dry shampoo and it’s day one of your freshly washed hair so you already know if you’re having to spray dry shampoo now it’s gonna be looking rough a couple days later lol.
This wasn’t like that at all. You don’t have to use too much, just a bit, and I have long hair too! So happy I was chosen for this and my hair is even more happy! Thank you Influenster and Pureology!.

I have been using Oribe Magnificent Volume shampoo for years, and have raved about it to everyone. I have fine hair and it has been the best volumizing shampoo that I have ever tried. When Oribe had their once a year sale a few weeks ago, , I ordered a Liter of what I thought was my favorite shampoo! I had accidentally ordered Beautiful Color.
I actually have colored my hair with blonde highlights for years, but I have always felt it was better to concentrate on the volume than the color. I had already opened the Liter, and filled my empty Magnificent Volume with the new shampoo that I hadn’t realized was the wrong one because the color of the bottles are very similar.
I was very unhappy because the products are expensive, and for the first time I invested in a Liter which will last a very longer time. I used the color shampoo, and must say my hair came out very nicely after two washings.
I expected my hair to be flat, but it definitely has volume. I was expecting to have to give the liter away, but it appears to be working well. I also have used volumizing conditioner, Gold Lust conditioner, maximista and volumista styling sprays.
The only product that I’ve tried that was absolutely the wrong product for fine hair was the sample I chose when I ordered the Liter was Royal Blowout for heat styling. It made my hair completely flat and looked greasy right after I washed my hair.
At first I thought it the the new Beautiful Color shampoo, but I realized it was Royal Blowout. I usually take the advice of my stylists for the best products for fine hair, which is how I learned about Oribe, but I ordered the sample of the Royal Blowout on my own, not knowing it would not be good for my hair.
Overall, as I have done for years, I highly recommend Oribe, it’s a wonderful company!!.
I used this shampoo for years along with the matching conditioner. Although pricey it is hands down the best shampoo for colored hair. My hair is dark brunette naturally and I went totally blonde in my early 30s for about 5/6 years, had root color ever 6 weeks w/ complimentary highlights throughout as needed.
My hair was certainly processed but this shampoo along with the conditioner kept my blonde bright and beautiful – it’s not a purple shampoo specifically for blonde, I think this would work wonders on any color treated hair.
My hair was never dry or dull and always manageable. I had little to no damage/split ends/breakage, I give credit to my stylist for being a master colorist but also for using this shampoo and oribe’s entire product line.
Huge fan. Well worth the price – a little goes a long way. Buy it you won’t regret it. Also my hair is normal, not thick or fine – it left to dry without styling it has a slight wave to it. I don’t find this shampoo to weigh my hair down.
I absolutely LOVE these products. Just purchased the liter size in both the Shampoo and Conditioner for Beautiful Color. My hair is fine, shoulder length with highlights and most products make my hair flat, weighed down or oily looking after the second day.
I am literally washing my hair TWICE A WEEK without ever get oily or flat. It doesn’t take much. I just work it through my wet hair, add a little water, and it sudses up nicely and rinses out well. Next, work in conditioner and leave that on while I finish showering and rinse well at the end.
I’m getting lots of compliments on my hair! I also use the Dry Texturizing Spray and the Superfine Hair Spray. All great products!.

I thought I was crazy and got a bad batch of shampoo and conditioner. But reading the negative reviews since trying this stuff, I know now it’s not me. First of all, why anyone said that is smells great is beyond me.
There’s barely any smell at all. Secondly, the conditioner leaves a totally gross, sticky and waxy feeling on my hair when I rinsed it out. Did not condition barely at all. Hardly could comb through.
After blow drying, my hair was a frizzy mess and my sensitive scalp got even worse with flaking and itchiness. I seriously don’t understand how anyone could possibly enjoy this conditioner in any way.
Big thumbs down, and a bigger disappointment because I usually love Generic products.
My all-time favorite conditioner. When I started my curly hair journey after cutting it all off and deciding to grow my hair back out, I discovered a curly hair forum. Many users on this forum used this conditioner.
This was probably 8-9 years ago. I have been using this ever since I first tried it as a rinse-out conditioner. I love the smell. It’s kind of a lotion-like scent, nothing strong or crazy. It is hydrating for my dry hair and doesn’t disturb my curl pattern.
Great for detangling and keeps my hair smelling good for days. I always make sure I have some of this conditioner on hand! If I could give it 10 stars, I would.
Usage: Apply a quarter-sized amount to wet hair, lather, rinse, and repeat. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately. Good for 12 months once opened.
I got this product complimentary from Influenster and Pureology for my honest review. I really loved how this product worked for my hair. It left it so smooth and silky. It lathered really nicely and felt great when I washed it.
It also rinsed out nice and easy and left my scalp feeling great. When I blew my hair dry it was like silk. Absolutely fabulous! Only negative, which I was REALLY surprised about, was the scent of this product.
It was not pleasant at all to me and not something like I’ve ever smelled in a shampoo. I didn’t like it and for me that is important in a shampoo. I have other Pureology products and love their scents.
it’s just this one that I couldn’t tolerate. Otherwise, I love how the product works, but due to the scent I would not buy this product. Sorry but it’s just my honest opinion. I only like haircare that has a nice pleasant smell and this one fell short in that area.
It was almost like lightly nutty and musky and sour all mixed together. Hard to explain but it was not like typical haircare scents. For those that don’t care about how a shampoo smells, this would probably be good for you because it does work for smoothing and shine.
Thank you for sending me this product and for letting me give my honest opinion.
Hola mis Latinas! First and foremost, I got this product in the mail for an honest review. If you are a latina with wavy colored hair, you know my struggle! I have tried many, many products, from tres expensive, too drugstore brands.
I am not looking for a miracle, what I am looking is the look and feel of my hair when I air dry it after I shower. Usually what I get, y’all know what I am talking about mi latinas! is puffy and dry to the touch hair! I wanted to test this shampoo for a couple of weeks before I gave my review.
WOW, just WOW, my hair was still puffy (but nowhere near what it usually looks like before using the shampoo!) and it was not crunchy. I used the shampoo, conditioner, and the smooth perfection. Don’t expect fast results, you gotta use it at least a couple of weeks! For the price, enjoy your new journey to your hair! Hola mis Latinas!
