Prebiotics and probiotics are both beneficial for dogs. Prebiotics help to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut, while probiotics provide live, beneficial bacteria that help to keep the digestive system functioning properly.
Both prebiotics and probiotics are found in many commercial dog foods, and they can also be given to dogs in supplement form.

These seemed simple enough; just add a pack to fresh water each morning. I just think this would be quite an EXPENSIVE routine, as cats naturally don’t need much water, so they just don’t drink very much.
Also, when mixed into water, this powder STAINS wooden furniture. I put the bowl onto my dining table, and some spilled out – and now the table is permanently stained. I probably would find another method to implement pre pro-biotics into my cat’s routine.
Native Pet’s supplement helps promote good bacteria in your pet’s gut. The formula features targeted, vet-approved probiotics, plus Jerusalem artichoke (inulin), bone broth, and pumpkin seed to encourage healthy gut flora.
Use daily by sprinkling over food or mixing with water.
Profivex is a probiotic supplement for dogs and cats that contains FIVE of the most beneficial probiotic strains and FIVE billion CFUs per serving! It is also fortified with two prebiotics including FOS and sweet potato.
The all-natural sweet potato in Profivex provides a beneficial amount of fiber, vitamins, and nutrients to your pets diet every day! Profivex also contains digestive enzymes to further support a healthy digestive tract.
With all of these benefits and more, your pet will give you a high five for profivex! Profivex comes as a great-tasting real pork liver powder that is simply sprinkled over your pets food once daily.
Give your pet either 1 or 2 scoops using the recommended label dosing guidelines and included scoop.
My cats ran out of their previous probiotic, so I shopped around for a better price. I found this one on Chewy, and I am so glad I did! I opened the package in the vicinity of my cats (not even intending to use it right then), and they went nuts.
These are semi-picky cats (not annoyingly so, but they won’t just eat anything). They loved it. I tried to sprinkle some on their dry food (I never do that because I’m afraid of wasting food if they refuse it), and they went to town! One of them even started licking it off the counter.
Nutri-Vet Food Transition Support with Probiotics for dogs helps when introducing new foods. It combines multiple, live, friendly bacteria with the prebiotic FOS (fructooligosaccharides), a natural ingredient that beneficially stimulates the growth of good bacteria.
This powerful combination helps support a strong immune system and promote vitality in dogs of all ages.
Our Digestive Probiotics chews support your dog in many ways! The prebiotics, probiotics, and digestive enzymes help to maintain your pups digestive function and support a healthy gut. The ingredients work together to help your dog digest food, absorb key vitamins and minerals, and sustain a strong immune system.
Healthy digestive function also means healthy poops and less gas and bloating! Some research shows that giving friendly bacteria to your dog can also help improve diarrhea and gut health.
Advita is a blend of mulitple probiotic bacteria and the prebiotic inulin for use in cats and dogs. Inulin helps facilitate the growth of the good bacteria in the GI tract. It can also help feed the strains of prebiotic bacteria that are included in Advita: enterococcus faecium, lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus casei, and bacillus coagulans.
It also has vitamins a, c, and e to help keep your pet healthy. The product for cats also contains taurine. By giving your pet this product, it may help regulate your pets stools and appetite.
My veterinarian gave me these probiotics following a parvo outbreak and they worked wonderfully! I tried the FortiFlora probiotics but my adult dogs refused to eat their food with it added, and it made the puppies poop worse.
After switching to the Vetone probiotics the pups poop improved significantly and quickly, and the adults had no issues with the taste/texture. I give it to my momma’s following whelping and it helps to restore their stool back to a normal consistency in a day or two instead of a week or two! I will never be without this on hand!.
My dog of 10 years, has a sensitive tummy. I recently learned how sensitive. In the past, I occasionally sprinkled this probiotic on his food ( given by his vet) and then ran out. I didn’t continue with this.
So I ran to the local dog food / feed store and picked up a probiotic, what they had in stock. he doesn’t care for it and snubbed eating his food. I tried a different probiotic at a different store. he doesn’t care for it.
This was unlike him, so he went without and discontinued probiotic, altogether. Whatever specifically causes Pancreatitis, is unkown. He recently had the worst bout with it and $500 later, he feels tons better.
Again, his vet entrusted this antibiotic- so I ordered this before I ran out again. I put this on his food every day and will continue to do so. It’s the only probiotic that his taste agrees with. During these Covid times, I didn’t want to run around.
I didn’t think twice, but to order Advita probiotic. I keep it on my counter and if I’m low I’ll put a packet in his food container to remind myself. He is a happy pup! Thank you Chewy. com for having this available on autoship.
This stuff really works. One packet and our new rescue had a normal BM. The transition from the food she ate at the rescue to the food we offer had her tummy very upset with bad diarrhea and kennel blowout.
Just ONE packet in which she licked the bowl clean and the next morning glory hallelujah, solid BM. I will always keep this on hand.

My dog has been intermittently through the last several years been having gastro issue with blood in his stool. He’s his own worst enemy ( hound that eats anything even dried earth worms on a walk🤣).
After many vet visits and a major change in his diet to the biome diet he did much better. But still has blood occasionally. Vet recommended this product and so far for 2 months he’s been great!! Fingers crossed this will keep him stable.
I’m big believer myself in these types of products as I’ve taken human prebiotics for years. I really think the combo prebiotic and probiotic is key in this situation. Prebiotics help feed the good bacteria.
Godfrey is doing well now. Thanks to vets recommendation of this product!!.
My cat is 16 years old and started having digestive issues including loose stool. My Vet sold me the first package of FortiFlora which was very expensive. When I was told she should stay on the prebiotic, I decided to check out VetRX direct and was pleased to find it was far less expensive.
After Belle being on the FortiFlora for a little over a month, she is back to normal. My only issue with FortiFlora is that it is liver flavored which she does not like but, I divide the packet between 3 meals and she gives in.
An irresistible treat, loaded with benefits for your canine friend, these Probiotic Snacks are the best way to improve any of your dogs digestive issues, poor nutrient absorption and weak immunity. Feed this supplement daily to support digestive health for your dog, or add it as a support when your dog is on steroids or antibiotics which can disturb his stomach’s microbial balance. With digestive support, your dog may experience reduced allergies, skin problems, itching, diarrhea and constipation, making for a happier pup.
I adopted a stray Maltese 3 years ago. She was very Ill when found, lost all but 15 teeth from infection. She’s doing rather well EXCEPT for separation anxiety & chronic soft stools, sometimes with frequency & mucus.
She has been on metronidazole several times & I had her on a powdered probiotic. She was still having bowel issues. We changed her diet & started her on the Petpoint chewable for digestive health. It has been 2 weeks & her stool is now well formed & frequency is 1-2 per day! I’m hoping this continues, but so far this product is working well!!.
Bought these to get in front of any digestive issues we may encounter with an antibiotic before our pup started taking it. She gets one chew a day and she loves them. They break down easily which makes me feel better about giving them to our 11 week old puppy.
Our older dog loves these too. Neither have had any real digestive issues but when they’re given a new food or treat, they used to get diarrhea or gas and now they do not. It must be these babies! We take probiotics so we figured it would be good for the dogs too! We will probably continue even without “need”.
When we adopted our puppy he had crazy diarrhea. The vet told us he had giardia and that it was hard to get rid of and some dogs would have issues their entire life. We put him on the holistic food diet she recommended and researched probiotics.
After reading the stellar reviews and reading the ingredients we decided to give these a try. His poop has been nice and firm, bye bye diarrhea and Giardia. The vet has retested him a couple times now and the giardia is gone.
Highly recommend these. We will not live without them!.

These chews are so adorable! They are heart-shaped! My dog thinks these are treats and likes them better than the omega oil I have been drizzling over her food every day. They are also not as messy! I like that for my dog’s size, this is a 60 day supply.
There are so many great nutrients in here that dogs truly need. I also like that these are made in the USA. I would highly recommend these chews to help your dog have her healthiest and best life! I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review.
Probiotic Miracle is a stable tasteless probiotic powder for dogs and cats. Each scoop provides 1 billion CFUs of healthy probiotics for your pet. Probiotic Miracle is the most complete and effective you can buy for dogs.
Probiotic Miracle was formulated specifically for the needs of your pet and contains the following stable strains of bacteria L. acidophilus- L. acidophilus has the ability to actually cling to the intestinal wall without harming it.
In fact it is best known for its ability to move un-disrupted through the stomach and into the intestines where it eats away at disease causing bacteria. It is known for reducing the occurrence of constipation and diarrhea increasing nutrient uptake especially calcium preventing food poisoning.
Bought the large jar. I used it on 2 of my large breed pitbulls, twice daily, who have horrible allergies. Jar lasted roughly 3 months. Did nothing for one dog but worked miracles for the other. The skin around his hind end and tail where he was balding, turned dark, then velvet-y, then re-grew a beautiful coat of shiny, thick fur.
I’ve been trying to get his fur to regrow for years. His energy also came back three fold. He’s a lazy 11yo and now acts like a puppy. Bowel movements are greatly improved as well. First time I’ve experienced a true “miracle” product that remedied my problem.
Very pleased. Great product to try for probiotic/gut/stomach/skin issues.
Our Labrador, being a typical Lab puts everything he finds into his mouth. He has a particular fondness for bird droppings. We have chickens as well so this results in the dog having chronic diarrhea.
Since we can’t have him on antibiotics 24/7 we’re working on enforcing new behavior rules, much greater diligence on our parts (this dog NEVER goes into the fenced in yard without someone to watch him) and dietary supplements.
We’ve tried several probiotics supplied by the vet during rounds of antibiotics and they never really did much for very long. THIS WORKS!!! Since our boy is 85 lbs plus he gets 2 little scoops a day – we split them between his two meals.
Solid bowel movements since we purchased and started him on it. His play day provider is beyond happy with this let me tell you! It’s made cleaning up after him in the yard easier too. I’ve added this to our regular autoship for his food because I never want to be without it again!.
I have a sharpei who has a very delicate digestive system. After a long trial of trying to get her diarrhea prone stools to get better, I decided to try this supplement. I had her on several other expensive probiotics as well as pumpkin and a special z/d diet from my vet to help this issue.
Nothing worked. Not until I tried this product, did her stools become solid and she eats better! I give her a scoop in the am and pm with food. It has made such a difference. Please do not hesitate to try this.
As the package recommends, you may need to up the frequency during digestive issues. The plus in it all is it’s very affordable. I was spending about $30 a month for the other probiotic. It is a great product and must be tasteless as Sophie eats it readily with her food!!.
Style: 1 Box, 30 Packets Advita for Dogs is a blend of multiple probiotic bacteria and the prebiotic inulin for use in cats and dogs. Inulin helps facilitate the growth of the good bacteria in the GI tract.
It can also help feed the strains of prebiotic bacteria that are included in Advita: Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, and Bacillus coagulants. It also has vitamins A, C, and E to help keep your pet healthy.
The product for cats also contains Taurine. By giving your pet this product, it may help regulate your pets stools and appetite. Consult your veterinarian prior to starting this product, so they can decide if your pet would benefit from using it.
Pet Wellbeing Ultimate Probiotic Powder Digestive Supplement for Dogs, 320-g jar; Keep your dog’s gut working wag-nificently with Pet Wellbeing Ultimate Probiotic 9 Strains Dog Supplement. Use this high-potency probiotic daily to support your canine companion’s digestive system, maintain a healthy balance of good bacteria and keep her urinary track working well.
This probiotic – especially recommended during and following antibiotic treatment – also supports the immune system, so that your fun-loving friend is always ready for a day of play!.
This product does exactly what it says. My dad’s dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Unfortunately he would be sick have the trots so any healthy bacteria was constantly lost and his organs were unable to digest and absorb.
The penicillin from the vets sorted the pain but as with humans he was still vomiting. Light bulb moment was when I thought of how when I have had penicillin it wipes out your healthy bacteria and can leave you with a water infection.
So I did some reading and fortunately found this. We were desperate as the vets were stumped £500 later they were talking about investigating his oesophagus to see if it needed stretching! Within 24 hours on this what a turn around.
Its been nearly 4 weeks and he is happy and settled no stomach problems, eats fine and stools are normal again! Has more energy than before and a happy 4 Yr old lab and dad. So far so good! Life saver product!.
I discovered the Wellbeing products a little too late to save by sweet fur baby. She was in stage 3 renal failure & was totally blind. I honestly can’t say if this or the other products I ordered would’ve worked or not.
I ordered this product & never got to use it because my girl wouldn’t eat anything in her last days. I added this supplement to her food & couldn’t get her to eat, even after forcing a appetite stimulant on her.
Tried home cooked meals, along with various subscription-prescription diets. However, I will say the Wellbeing customer service is superb—like no other! They genuinely care about your pet & the pet owners satisfaction of their products! If I ever decide to own another fur baby, I would definitely use Wellbeing products for preventative purposes “before” any illnesses arise.
One of our rescue cats needed an enema under anaesthetic to relieve an impacted bowel. The operation changed her. She hardly went out, was nervous and not herself. It took 3 months for her to recover.
She has eaten a Biologically Appropriate Raw Food Diet for the last few years and we think that the fur she’d swallowed whilst grooming had impacted for some reason inside her. The vet didn’t think she had a physiological obstruction but we didn’t want to go through that stress again, nor did Stripe! The vet said they’d managed to remove about 95% of the impacted material and did massage to help the remaining stuff.
We started her on Smooth BM Gold and the Ultimate Probiotic 9 to help her digestive system recover. For the first couple of months she was still straining a little and taking over a minute to produce a bowel movement.
We monitored it every day and could see she was still passing compacted fur mats. Once she started to venture out, she started eating grasses again and gradually the fur mats have become less compacted over 3 months.
Yesterday, she produced a “fluffy” fur mat for the first time so we are very pleased. She is also not straining and producing zero anymore, so it’s a big improvement. All of our 9 rescue cats have tried the drops and the Probiotic in their food, maybe it tastes a bit sweet? so we are giving it to all of them, including Harry who has just had a course of antibiotics for a suspected abscess, so the Probiotics are essential! I think we should try your Immune Sure, though, in case an infection is still lurking.
It is very irresponsible of the vets when they give you a medication like antibiotics and don’t tell you the possible adverse effects before you agree to that treatment. And they don’t tell you that it damages their gut flora.
We know that neither humans or animals become ill because they have a deficiency in petrochemical drugs but we do know that a deficiency in phytonutrients can cause and cure illness. And that extra nutritional support can speed healing.
We are so pleased to have found a science-based natural pharmacy for our animals and are going to try some other stuff like the Immune Sure and the Calming Care. Thank you.

This is by far the best product for arthritis we’ve found for our dog. She’s 8 and a boxer-lab-? mix with increasing hip and arthritis problems as she ages. We tried CBD, glucosamine, and collagen but she seemed to be getting worse.
Then the employee at our local pet supply store recommended this product. Not only does our dog LOVE it (she’s so excited to eat now and bounces around as we mix it in) but we saw almost immediate results.
She’s been on it for 2 months now and her mobility is vastly improved. Whenever she plays too hard or it’s very cold out (the things that used to make her arthritis awful and even make it hard for her to walk), she bounces back much quicker and doesn’t seem to be in nearly as much discomfort.
100% recommend this! Wish Missing Link made a cat version for our aging (15yo) boy!.
My dogs do not have digestive issues like diarrhea or sensitivity. But despite daily (not exaggerating) teeth brushing, my little guys breath seemingly went from tolerable to devilish halitosis fairly quickly.
They just had yearly physicals and are in tip top shape. It’s not due to plaque or poor dental hygiene. My vet didn’t seem too concerned about the breath. The next day, I had to pick up more dog food at the pet store and asked the sales clerk about the breath.
He recommended the kelp probiotic formula. I kid you not, the change is remarkable. His breath is so much better. I wet the kibble before sprinkling the kelp on top, the stuff sticks to it and the dogs get more water.
I’ve known about The Missing Link product for almost a decade- I say product because it used to be just the original item. I worked for a high-end Pet Food Company for 6 years as a side job. This allowed me hours of free time to peruse a store and read every label of every dog and cat food.
This helped with my knowledge of animal nutrition in general, but I noticed a lot of overlap and duplicate foods that were just put in a different bag labeled senior, puppy, active, etc. Not many stores carried The Missing Link.
It was expensive, the packaging was small, and to most chain stores it just took up shelf space & consumers thought they could get the same benefit through specialised food. I just recently started using The Missing Link’s Joint & Bone formula on my 10 year old pitbull.
She suffers from a torn CCL, Osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, and a lovely condition known as PPE. She is already on prescription medications to manage her discomfort and mobility but I wanted something more.
You can throw medication at a dog all day long but it’s what is happening inside that we need to look at. With the PPE and a bunch of food allergies, I have to be so careful of what she eats. So adding anything new to her diet can be catastrophic to her GI tract.
I know this is a long story but your still reading so know that this is comming from a person with extensive knowledge of food, supplements, injuries, and allergies in pets. Within 1 week, ONE WEEK, I’ve noticed that “Marley” seems a bit more comfortable.
She has a little more brightness to her, and I’ve stated to taper her off of half of her dosage of the pain medication. The best thing is. She loves it. She loves the flavor, she loves watching me add it, and she has had ZERO gastrointestinal issues.
I cannot wait to see what the next few weeks brings and I totally wish I would have started this a few years ago. This is no BS. No one is paying me to say anything. I’m being honest and I know how difficult it can be for pet parents that have “kids” with medical issues.
For price- you only need a teaspoon or 2 per day. This bad will last over a month. Given the thousands of dollars I’ve spent in prescription and OTC supplements, this is a cake walk. And it’s natural.
Give it a try. Again, if your still with me, just try it. Most companies offer returns- check with your local store. But this might just be the one thing you need to make your dog (or cat) a little happier and more comfortable.

28+ year breeder of Boston terriers. Had always had problems getting little ones tummies used to solid food. They always had diarrhea. Started them on Proflora sprinkled on the litter’s food as first feedings and about once or twice a week till they go to new homes, and what a difference! Solidifies their poo, so when you transport them to their new homes, no messes in the carriers, and so much easier for you to clean up at home.
I’m telling you. I heard about this at a professional breeders association meeting from a vet who also breeds. He wasn’t being paid to promote but said it was the best thing he had found. I tried it and you are crazy if you don’t use it!.
This easy to use Proflora probiotic is added to my dogs evening meal. He loves the flavor and it gives him the daily probiotic that he needs. This product is especially important for me to give him when he has had immunization shots, has had any type of surgeries-even dental cleaning or I feel like his immune system has been stressed by being put on prescription medications.
I highly recommend this product. It was originally recommended to me by my veterinarian.
this product has made a dramatic difference in my dog. he is now more peppy, alert, and the diarrhea issues he was having are now gone after only one week. I will continue to use this product and highly recommend it.

I bought these for my JRT Molly as she has suffered with colitis on and off since she was a pup. Her vet suggested putting her on probiotics and so I purchased these. They are in a capsule that you can either give your dog as they are or pull the capsule apart and sprinkle the contents on her food, which is how I give Molly hers.
She’s been on them now for 6 weeks and so far not a sign of colitis which is a brilliant result for her. Her appetite has improved and not so much of a ‘gurgly’ tummy which has been a precursor to her colitis all her life.
Please bear in mind that they need about a week before your dog shows any improvement. Highly recommend these probiotics, they’ve definitely made a huge difference to Molly and all for the positive.
I have been having issues with my frenchie for a while. Always at vets. Since using probiotics only visited vets for boosters. My frencie baby is now a really happy dog. Definitely recommand

I have an 8 year old 190lb. saint/boxer mix- he’s a big boy and kids could certainly throw a saddle on him and ride him. He can put his paws up on my shoulders. I noticed he wasn’t getting up as quick anymore and the stairs seemed to be a chore, so I started looking for a good joint supplement.
Most of the supplements out there are commercialized and packed with fillers. Free Range is just the opposite and something I was excited to try for my boy. After 1 week using the free range, I noticed he was getting up a lot quicker and had a lot more pep in his step.
After 3 weeks, he was back to running up the steps! This past weekend I took him to the ball field where we spent many times sniffing everything and sprinting the length of the field- he is definitely getting back to his old self! I’m looking forward to seeing how he is after 2-3 months.
