20 Best Pots For Birds Of Paradise (2023 Updated)

This the third Crescent Garden Madison planter I have purchased from Lumens and I love it as much as the other two which are simply larger versions. All of them look great on my outdoor patio and appear well constructed.

I like the fact that each interior has protruding feet to support an inserted pot (optional application) and a rounded bottom with a drainage hole which I line with filter fabric and a few rocks. Lastly, the base can be filled with sand or water and then plugged (plug is included) for extra stability but the weight of my plants and soil make this unnecessary.

I dont really mean that this product is not a good value. Some garden centers have had a lower price, but also little stock so I wanted to grab one before they are gone. These bags are great for growing fingerling potatoes and are very durable.

Ive used mine over and over again. Definitely recommend.

I really like this fabric pot. It’s sturdy; holds the moisture and look pretty good. My plants seems pretty happy, too which the most important thing! I’m definitely ordering more for next year. And a bigger size.

The Lechuza self- watering planters are the best in the market. Thie Cubico color planter has a very nice matte finish. I like it a lot! I enjoy doing business with ePlanters. They are efficient and professional.

So far I love my Rhonda pot! I chose a plant that doesn’t need much water so while I won’t need to use that function often, I adore: how light the pot is, how easy it is to take the inside liner in and out, the drainage space, how you can have a smaller plant on display up high…etc etc.

Wether or not the plants I choose need the watering system I will always buy these pots for their style!.

We are pleased with the size, the look, and the weight of these planters. We haven’t had a chance to put plants in them yet or to test their self watering feature but we will this coming summer. Your company may be our go to place for additional large planters.

not worth the high price. they are not stable thin layer of plastic. edge is to fat so the flowers won’t cascade down as easily. best of all they won’t provide you with a return label like walmart nor can you return to store.

be ware if you need to return big box and will be more than 1/2 the price of the planter. would not recommend not a walmart product.

I really like the pots, both the 8 inch and 10 inch in charcoal. I have already transplanted my plants into them and they look great. I especially like the opportunity to buy made in the USA pots. I would purchase these again, and highly recommend them for both appearance and sturdiness.

I also like the fact that the plants can be watered from the bottom, easily avoiding water on the plant leaves. Oh yes, and the stickers on the pots pulled right off leaving no mess or traces of glue! Thanks for a great product!.

bought 10″ pot, but inside diameter is less than 10 inches, and b/c it is self waterer, bottom part is reservoir. And thus, space for soil isnt very deep. and bottom part, wouldnt stay attached. Thus i ended up returning for a deeper / wider (non-self watering ) pot.

Ordered 2 pots, they arrived one inside the other. I’m still trying to separate them after 4 days. Also, surprised they got here in one piece, shipping box was crushed, no packing material and clear shipping tape barely attached to box seams.

Would recommend as a gift if shipping was better.

We liked our first Glowpear planter for our rooftop last summer so much that we purchased another one. Both planters arrived in a timely fashion. We were able to set it up to connect with the first planter but there is something to consider when doing so.

Firstly, the screw washer popped out of the second planter when removing the “plug” to connect the two units. We had to dismantle the interior of the planter to get this back in place. There was simply a slot for it to go into and perhaps a more secure method should be used.

Thankfully we hadn’t set up the planter with dirt and plants beforehand. Secondly, when adding the plastic connector tubes between the two units, it is difficult to get these on tight without knowing which way to turn the screw head without loosening the seal; otherwise, water will drip when the planter is filled.

When you get one side connected, it is difficult to push this connector tight enough over the second set of screw heads to make a tight seal. And because these are screwed tightly, you can’t twist the connector without loosening either set of screws.

Planters seem to be working with minimal drips but something to consider improving. Here are some pics of our second starter gardens. After the tomatoes and basil went gangbusters with growth and little worry with watering, we’re looking forward to our second harvest of new vegetables.

I was looking for ‘Sturdy’ balcony railing planter boxes when I discovered Growpear. There were lots of boxes but none that looked like they would be as easy to install or be durable enough to take the Australia sun; that is worth the time and money.

We have extensive veggie gardens but I was looking for somewhere to plant easy access herbs; I have 2 planter boxes and they are ideal.

The unit leaks a bit, so I am going to have to fiddle with it before I move it inside. After unpacking it, I accidentally touched my lips and there was a terrible taste. There is some kind of residue on the plastic.

not sure if this will transfer to the soil. I will have to wait and see. Shipping was exceptionally slow. It took at least a week for it to leave Houzz. Once in transit, the shipping was reasonable.

I have grown plants seriously for over 50 years, terra cotta pots were always my first choice. I liked the way they looked with plants, I liked the way they aged. However, when I moved to a colder climate I realized how heavy and cumbersome terra cotta is, especially in large sizes.

Moving massive tropical plants into the basement became backbreaking labor. I researched and found Bloem. The pots are esthetically pleasing, and in my new dryer climate, the fact that they retain moisture better than terra cotta is a real advantage.

Plants overwinter needing less water than in terra cotta. The designs with rolled rims make them easy to carry indoors in winter, and the ones that remain outdoors don’t crack during freezes. The color range is always improving, and new the designs are very attractive.

These are excellent pots for indoors or under an awning like on a patio. But if you have them away from an enclosed area with a roof, the rain will not drain from the pots and will drown your plants.

This is not a defect in the product, just a hint for those who wish to use them outdoors. My husband drilled holes in the bottom for drainage. I needed them for outdoors on an uncovered deck, and they did not work for that unless they had drainage holes.

They are easy to drill holes in if you need that. If not, they work very well indoors or under a patio roof where they do not get rain. You will need to water much less with these pots if you do not drill holes in them for drainage, obviously, and it’s tricky not to overwater them.

This plastic imitation terra cotta-colored planter works perfect for a 6 foot tall cedar bush in front of my house. I had a clay pot for several years but it was slightly smaller and eventually cracked and fell apart over this past winter/spring.

I was reluctant to replace with plastic as I like the classic clay pots, but the large ones are now more difficult to find and they eventually break. This color looks great and still mixes well with the clay ones nearby.

The summers are getting hot. Vege beds need all the help they can get. I purchase these pots, place a piece of milk carton plastic over one of the holes and use silicone to glue in place. I then place second pot on top of first pot.

smear silicone around join. Leave overnight. Test for water leakage. If all good. bury them in beds or large grow bags. fill them up every when below half full and place small terracotta saucer or even cute branch or stone over top hole.

This is an ancient tradition used in hot climates.

I was happy with the pot but also bought some potting soil and Janet been pleased with it. All the plants I have used it on have gotten mold on the soils surface. I assume this means the soul wasn’t sterile ? Hopefully it doesn’t affect the plants in the long run here.

This is the most excellent 10-inch terra cotta pot that you could wish for. It is terra cotta, which of course is what is should be. I wanted a 10-inch pot, not 9 1/2 nor 10 1/2 so this was perfectly sized.

As for the colour, what can one say? It’s quite boring and yet very satisfying if you want a terra cotta pot. It is actually quite terra cotta. A fine art teacher would say that this is the best shade of terra cotta ever mixed by a student, even if it came out of tube labelled terra cotta.

I wonder is hope this little note is what Home Depot expected when they asked me to rate their 10-inch terra cotta pot. I can only hope. Perhaps a youtube video?. No, that would just be over doing it.

These pots in white worked out great for our new outdoor restaurant remodel. They were light in weight, so at first I was concerned. But once we filled the pots properly, they were perfect. They are also 1/3 of the price from the really heavy pots.

Glad we went with these ones.

Lynn was so helpful the wrong color was my fault. the terra cotta looked the color I needed on photo. But I was wrong. All is well now got the rust color and it is perfect matches the rest of my planters.

Can’t wait plant it.

We order planters for our water feature on our pool; they came in the dimensions that fit; they were light and easy to install (clay pots would have required a crane) -we also got small pots for around the yard – awesome product.

Bloem has the best design by far and “Do It Best” is a really good company to sell Bloem products. Shipping was fast and affordable, packing outstanding. The rolled lip design on the square and rectangle containers makes handling easier after planted.

I estimate the weight for the 18″ square planter to be 40 – 60 lbs. and the 30″ Flower Box to be 20 – 30 lbs. I have Bloem planters that are over 20 years old, in the Florida sun and weather, and still look great! I can’t find a local seller and finding “Do It Best” was a true stroke of luck.

I already had purchased 2 of these planters. First of all they are a good size, the price is excellent. Large pots are hard to find, and when you do they are usually too expensive, or just not nice looking.

I would like a larger sized maybe 24 x 24 or bigger. For my dwarf banana trees. The company could even add decals one could apply to the pots, mix and match to create their own special look. Now I have 4, and I will be back for more.

I like a cohesive look, unlike my neighbor down the street. She has every type and color of pot imaginable, I think having all the pots the same size and color grounds my garden. I add the color with the plants and flowers.

LOVE THESE POTS! I live in Florida, and my pots are holding up just fine. It has been many years I have owned the first 2. They are sturdy enough to hold banana trees and a dwarf fig tree.

I bought this set of three for my daughter’s birthday recently and decided to add an extra set for myself and I’m so glad I did. I love everything about this product; the classic shape, the quality of the rustic design and the glaze, the size and weight of the pots.

They are very attention-getting on my patio. My daughter has used hers indoors and loves them as well. They do have a small hole for drainage so use a saucer or liner to protect surfaces.

Very excited to receive these as it is off-season now where I live. Sometimes we need to bring plants indoors for over wintering or repot overgrown plants and cannot get pots locally. Thanks!

Sure, these are pretty and weather proof enough to leave out all year. But, there are some cautions to be aware of. 1) You will need to put something heavy in the bottom (bricks, stones, rocks) to stabilize these tall planters.

That means 2) you will need to remove the interior divider and that’s not an easy task! 3) If you want to use removeable pots, you may have to add some sort of interior platform on top of the interior divider even if you flip the divider upside down.

We cut up deck banisters to lay crisscross inside. 4) The dimensions at the top will only accommodate pots up to 10 1/2″ inches across. But, even with all that, we’re glad we have these. They add so much to our front entryway.

We love the look of the new planters. They really dress up the porch. But, the issue we have is with the self-watering feature. There is a “shelf/tray” that fits about half way down the planter so that the bottom can be filled with water or in our case a combination of sand and water.

The problem is that there is no way to check or refill the reservoir. The directions recommend drilling a hole so that the planter doesn’t fill with water (needed if not under a roof). However, there is still no way to refill the reservoir or check the level of the water unless the hole you drill yourself is large enough for a hose.

Definitely not well designed.

Absolutely love these planters. I purchased them in the graphite/gray to blend with the charcoal cushions on my wicker furniture. They couldn’t be more beautiful. I have vining plants in each of them that are the “icing on the cake.

” I know they’ll last for years. Very well made. The interior has an adjustable tray to accommodate plants or other things appropriate for the players. Our only thought to ensure they’ll not blow over would be to perhaps put sand bags in them or partially fill with water.

Highly recommend these.

So like the other review, one of my planters (the larger one) arrived completely shattered in large pieces. The smaller planter was inside and thankfully was safe. However, now I have to go return the larger planter to Walmart.

I’m surprised because it seemed to be boxed well, with styrofoam covering the planters. Maybe it just needed some bubble wrap. I imagine if it were not broken, perhaps in rough shipping, then it would have been awesome.

The smaller planter looks great and exactly as pictured. Love the design. I just wish the larger planter wasn’t broken, so disappointed. I would be able to recommend the planters if they fix the shipping issue because it’s too expensive to receive a broken item.

These planters are pretty and look exactly as pictured. I love that it comes with it’s own stands. The reason for 4 stars is there is no drainage hole and you can’t add one. So i have to put a planter in it that is smaller than this one so it can drain.

The item came broken and the sizes of both pots are deceiving.

The terra-cotta pot is good looking goes with any decor, perfect for herbs, flowers , the drainage is the most important factor in these pots keeps herbs and flowers well drained and not sitting in water this is my second pot this year so far hope to get more.

My herbs are thriving.

The value of these pots can’t be beat in comparison to other retailers as far as pricing – they are anywhere from $3. 00 to $5. 00 cheaper. Plus if you are lucky enough to have a coupon, it’s that much better! Great value!.

Love these pots. They do great in all seasons of our Zone 7 garden – no cracking in the winter snow or issues with the summer heat and humidity. They also get a nice aged look after a season, too.

This is a great gift for the plant enthusiast or someone who says that the kill everything. You just fill the glass well in the bottom, insert the terra cotta pot, and it does all the work. Gave it as a gift last year and they loved it and has had many guests ask about it.

It is a little on the small side, so definitely not suitable for fast growing or large plants. Would absolutely purchase again.

I’m obsessed! I live in an apartment and work full time, I struggle to balance underwatering/overwatering with my windowsill plants, and this has been perfection for my parsley, which has notoriously needed more water than i’m around to provide.

It’s also pretty on the windowsill! It is a bit heavy, given the glass, terra cotta pot, and then more with water filled in, but its totally worth it. I want more and am super bummed they are currently sold out.

Will definitely buying more when they are back in stock.
