There are a few places you can buy straight razors. The most popular places are probably online, through retailers such as Amazon, or through specialty stores that sell shaving supplies. You can also find straight razors at some antique stores or flea markets.

Parker SRX Heavy Duty / Professional 100% Stainless Steel Straight Edge Barber Razor and 5
Stainless steel blades offer a smooth and close shaving experience
Straight edge razor arm assists to provide convenient usage
Parker Safety Razor offers an unparalleled line of barber straight razors. These beautifully designed razors allow a barber to easily change a blade between clients and provide luxury shaves with an instrument that mimics a traditional straight razor.
Unlike traditional straight razors, there never is any sharpening or stropping required. Parker Safety Razor shavette razors are used in barbershops and shave parlors worldwide. The unique “Clip to close” mechanism on this razor keeps the razor blade securely in place and perfectly aligned.
Unlike most shavettes, our Parker Safety Razor SRX razor has a heavyweight stainless steel blade arm in addition to a stainless-steel handle – not lower-quality aluminum. Many have told us that our shavette razors perform just like a straight razor except that there is no honing or sharpening required.
It’s everything you’ve read about: well designed and manufactured, holds the blade well, simple to use, yadda-yadda-yadda. It is what it’s advertised to be. That said there are a couple issues to know: I 1.
The corner of the blade itself is squared off of course, and not covered. I found it’s easy to gouge a scar in your phizz quickly if you aren’t careful. I haven’t run into this issue with any straight razors.
At least these are razor cuts, aren’t painful, and heal quickly. Still, who wants to look like a Boris Karloff character. ? 2. The Parker uses half of a double-edge blade, which exacerbates 1. above a bit since you cutting area is only about an inch or so.
If you factor these into your learning curve, you can come out all right. Just stuff I ran into. The feel of the blade directly on the skin is amazing after using safety razors. While you want to go slow and steady, the shave is awesome.
I use H. I. S. shave oil, which IMHO is a must for straight razor work. It provides far better protection than any soap or foam and you can see precisely where you are cutting. The only downside to this or stuff like Shave Secret is they creates a buildup of top layer skin cells and whiskers that is a minor pain to clear out of a double-edge razor and murder if you like the multi-blade cartridges like Gillette or Harrys! So one star off for not enclosing the blade edge, otherwise a great product!.
This is my second shavette, and I’m so happy I got it! My first shavette was much cheaper, and the photos didn’t disclose the shoddy workmanship, but boy did it cost me in blood! If you can’t imagine what could go wrong with a cheap shavette, think about the blade, when pressed firmly against its posts, STILL not being parallel to the shield.
Think about irregular, highly imperfect, and very short posts: The blade never sat well; And when I’d try to lock the blade in place it would often move. I finally came up with the idea of taping it in place before I locked the shavette (!).
Not a nice experience at all! Then I saw a photo of the Parker SRX and fell in love: Very precise workmanship, high quality, and with a gorgeous chrome finish. I already own a Parker safety razor, so I figured a shavette from Parker would be every bit as good.
The SRX exceeded my expectations: Perfect posts, blade held in place without tape, perfectly parallel to the shield, locks precisely. The SRX feels strong and looks gorgeous, and the shave is perfectly smooth! If you’d like to learn to use a shavette, do yourself a favour, and skip the cheap junk! Go for quality, and your experience will be great right from the start.
Been shaving with DE razors and straight razors for a while and wanted to try something for those times when i wanted a straight razor feel but didn’t have the time to hone and strop, this model came very well recommended and i can see why.
Good quality of materials, solid, thick stainless steel has a good feel and look to it, fit and finish is pretty good, a couple spots lacking the polish but nothing that affects the use or overall aesthetics.
In the hand it feels solid eith good heft although the lack of serrations makes it slick and slippery when shaving. In use it functions pretty well, with quality blades it gives a good close shave, the angles in the hand just takes some getting used to.
Only real negative is that getting the blades in and out is a little tricky, but not to bad. Overall this thing is great, im really surprised at the quality at this price. Be warned tho it does not handle like a straight razor, but if you want to try a good shavette, you cant do much better than this.
The 5/8 inch DOVO 100 is an excellent straight razor for beginners and people who prefer a robust and straightforward blade. Completely equal to its counterparts in its quality, it’s the perfect introduction to traditional wet shaving.
All surfaces of the straight razor are precisely finished by hand in several stages. The top and bottom of the tang are ribbed, so you always have it firmly under control even with wet or foamy fingers.
The other positive reviews are right, this is a great razor. After trying 6 antique razors with poor success I took a break from shaving with an open razor. Tried this one, and have shaved every day since with it.
The closest, easiest, most comfortable shave with an open razor I’ve experienced. I wish I bought it sooner!.
I have owned many cut-throat/straight razors in my time. I can strop them and shave with them. I have owned one of these before and this is the best straight razor, on the market, at this price. Or I would not have bought it.
Experience the luxury of a truly authentic wet shave with the Dovo Ebony Straight Razor. The razor is stylish, elegant and an absolute shaving classic. The carbon steel blade of the Dovo Ebony Straight Razor provides you with an ultra-close, smooth shave, whilst the striking appearance of the classic ebony style handle only adds to the feeling of authenticity.
First you’ll want to whip up a rich lather using shaving cream or soap, and apply it with a shaving brush. Then, holding the blade at a 30 degree angle from your face, make small passes across your jawline – applying more lather before another pass.
Once the blade starts to tug or cause discomfort, you will need to hone it using a strop. Always do this before a shave, not after, when the blade is at it’s most delicate.
Lovely razor, my second Dovo with this size and shape blade. I also have a Carre which I am very pleased with. Finish wasn’t quite as good as the admittedly slightly more expensive Carre, but not far off.
It wasn’t shave ready but only needed a really good stropping. Very happy with it.
This razor is made of stainless steel type 1. 4034. The metal shows good corrosion resistance against soap, water and steam and is therefore ideal for the production of high-quality and super-sharp blades.
The modern metal alloy requires hardly any care, is easy to clean and therefore especially recommended for newcomers. The ornaments are created by a coating of 24 carat gold. Olive wood is a unique material of nature.
It is harder than domestic oak or beech wood and is highly resistant to mould. Even untreated olive is already characterized by an above-average resistance to water, which naturally makes it the perfect material for razors, shaving brushes and shavettes.
With hollow grinding d the razor is ground concave from the back to the cutting edge. This design combines great flexibility with high torsional rigidity in longitudinal form. The blade dynamics ensure a smooth shave accompanied by a very characteristic sound, which is triggered by the oscillation of the razor during the hair section.
The round head is the classic shape of a razor and suits most shaving situations. This type of blade has been very popular for centuries, as the bulbous shape can be used very safely in the area of the ears, nose and dimples.
Even in the event of a fall, the round head protects you from injury.
Definitely a learning curve. What I don’t understand is, at checkout there was a choice to have it honed for $20 more. Why would a razor company sell a non honed razor? I would think any company would sell a product ready to use.
Anyway. overall good experience with this company and good quality product.
About this item CLASSIC: Old is Gold! You don’t need the “latest and greatest” 3-4-5 blade, super expensive, rolling ball razor out in the market these days, to get a fine quality shave. Our great grandfathers were able to remain handsome and smooth, using this classic Straight Edge Razor which is a timeless masterpiece for men’s shaving.
QUALITY: Our razors are made from fine quality Stainless Steel, guaranteed to never rust or tarnish with use. Built with an easy-to-open blade guard, you can exchange each blade safely and effortlessly.
ERGONOMIC: Designed with comfort and stability in mind, the Equinox Professional Straight Edge Razor performs well and provides the right holding angle to avoid discomfort. When opened, your ring finger rests on the back handle loop, index and middle fingers on top, and your thumb near the blade compartment.
NOTE: Be sure to gently squeeze the protection cap before closing it to ensure a tight and secure grip so your blade will.
Very good value. It would be a perfect purchase, except that the item came slightly bent. It was not enough to warrant the trouble of returning it, as it is still functional. It seems it was perhaps placed under a heavy weight or something so the razor does not close perfectly.
Basically an aesthetic issue, and probably a one off. All in all a great razor.
It’s cheap, it’s lightweight, but the cover doesn’t fit tightly over the blade. Since the included blades (split double edge) don’t actually fit over the the 2 little projections/knobs, the blade can slip in use (not good!) if you’re not extra careful.

Amazing product. The handle is coated with a matte coating that makes it easy to grip when wet, but is still easy to clean. Since the blade is short it’s easy to work around your Adams apple, especially if your grain isn’t vertical.
My order arrived on time. The razor holder has a black finish which makes it look unique. Also, It has varied weight distribution that allows cutting hair easy. The 100 single blades are sharp and cut well.
I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my boyfriend this year for Christmas & He absolutely LOVES IT! Very Impressive Quality for such an AMAZING PRICE!!! 5 Star Product!!!

I’m still getting used to it, but I can already tell it’s the solution I have been looking for. I’m experienced with a safety razor, and while that helps a bit, this is a whole ‘nother ballgame. The build quality is solid and I really like the look.
I recommend keeping it clean and dry after every use. This isn’t something I’d just keep in the shower like a disposable razor. Definitely recommend for someone who is going to put the time into shaving and wants a professional tool to get the job done.
Nothing makes a beard stand out like clean lines from a fresh shave. Our Straight Edge Razor is perfectly balanced for superior control while routinely shaving and for those barber quality shape-ups in the comfort of your bathroom.
Accompanied by ten stainless steel blades and a sleek travel case, our Straight Edge Razor is the best straight blade razor for in-depth at-home grooming sessions, tackling stray hairs on the go, and maintaining your lines on a regular basis at home or on the road.
Are you ready to bring your classic shave to a new level?( Works well with our Beard Cream).
As a barber I decided to get this razor because I thought it would be decent for at home use. It’s just that, decent. The hinge is a bit tight which makes it a bit difficult to maneuver in the hand when needing to backhand or freestyle the strokes.
My biggest complaint is that the studs that hold the razor blade itself in place are just small bumps and they don’t hold the blade in place very well when closing, or clamping, the blade in position.
Once it’s loaded and in use it does what it’s supposed to, but a bit slowly due to having to reposition the handle for different strokes since the hinge is stiff. So my assessment is that if you’re going to use it for a novelty or as a beginner, it’s not a bad place to start.
Today, customers are used to fast shipping, 2-3 days at most. With USPS, it took 10 days. With so much competition out there, it means that I will be purchasing more beard products elsewhere. I realize you are seeking to cut costs, but charge a bit more and use UPS.
Also, I wanted to buy an electric shaver by itself but couldn’t do so since I have to get a « kit ». Too much hunting all over your website. Too bad because you genuinely look like a good company.
Shavette is a close relative of the classical straight razor, but it uses the more common razor blades. So you don’t have to worry about sharpening and the blade, but you can still enjoy a perfectly smooth shave.
Break the razor blade into two halves still in its wrap. You can use both of them in shavettes. The blade is made of stainless steel with a removable shoulder and a nicely shaped white plastic handle.
The shavette has a stainless steel holder for easy blade replacement. The package does not contain razor blades. Made in India.
The Parker SR1 holds a special place in the hearts of cut-throat razor enthusiasts. For many, the SR1 was the razor that gave them the confidence to step up to shaving with a straight razor. But don’t call the SR1 a ‘training’ razor – that’s insulting.
This thing shaves wonderfully and stands on its own as a serious razor. This razor has good heft and balance thanks to its all-stainless steel construction. Pair this razor with the Treet Professional stainless DE half-blades – this combo won’t disappoint.
A super smooth and steady driver – I give her 5 stars. Your mileage may vary.
We are an experienced cut-throat shaver and have found this shavette to be a useful alternative to a regular blade. Its simple stainless-steel construction makes easy to keep clean which in turn makes it useful for travelling with.
Compared to a regular cut-throat we found it a bit more tricky to use; we think this is due to it’s lighter weight and much shorter blade length. However we got good results with a bit more practice and a modest change of technique.
Beginners may find this a useful choice due its low price. Unlike other shavettes, this one holds the blades in a very secure and even fashion which helps give confidence that shaving angles are where they ought to be – the main problem in learning how.
The only thing missing from the package is a pouch to store it in/travel with. All in all we can thoroughly recommend the Parker 31R (SR1).
Amazing. Such a great present. In a lovely box. Good quality comes with 100 blades. Great value for money. One very happy smooth chinned husband ! One delighted wife.
Gold Dollar’s P80 Round Point Straight Razor 6/8” with Faux Marble Scales conveys elegance with its original and polished look. Lightweight in design, its blade is made with carbon steel while its handle is faux marble.
A round point makes and substantial blade size makes this a great option for beginners and experienced wet-shavers. Carbon steel blade 6/8” Round Point Faux Marble Handle Blade length: 70 mm (2. 6”) Total length (closed): 155 mm (6.
It is what it is I guess? A razor shaped object. Geometry was all over the place. Somebody with poor math skills got to this razor before me. I’ve put considerable work on this razor with more to come.
The good news. it shaves. Scales look worse in your hand than in photos. No one to blame but myself. Lesson learned.
I didn’t buy this for me. I got it for my wife, who is a former hairdresser and who has joined me in getting back into old fashioned shaving. I shave daily, and she less often, but she covers a lot more area doing her legs than I do my face.
She loves the scales, and upon picking it up from the post office on her lunch break, showed it off to her friends at work. They all became intrigued when they saw it, and amazed at how she used it to remove the delicate hair on her arm right out of the box.
It’s not perfect, needing a really good stropping to get it shave ready, but at this price it is an amazing little razor.
This razor is as good as any of my expensive straight razors. It was almost shave ready right out of the box. A good stropping with chromium oxide and and leather and it was ready to go. I may get one or two more to have on hand, for the price, you can’t go wrong.
Professional straight edge razor blade SRB. A professional knife that is easy and safe to use, thanks to its clip closure that keeps the blade in place and perfectly aligned. The blade arm is made of stainless steel unlike most knives, which are made of aluminum.
The handle made of high quality resin ensures an ergonomic and secure grip. Its black finish provides elegance and style when shaving. Weight: 45 gr approx. Length: 14 cm approx. Since 1973, Parker Safety Razor has been a leading global brand in safety razor design and innovation.
A family business that creates shaving products with high quality standards. Its blades, razors and razors are used in barbershops and shaving salons around the world. Made in the UK.
The Dovo Stainless Steel Handled Shavette is a great straight razor that won’t break the bank. The blades which are disposable allow for ease of replacement without the need to sharpen. The razor comes with 1 red and 1 black blade holder insert.
The Red Holder uses standard double edge blades that you split in two The Black Holder uses a specialty blade that is longer but very similar to the traditional double edge blade.
The Dovo Shavette is as good as expected. Very light and precise. The blade holder could be a little stronger and harder and they could include three or for spare holders, since it is not so easy to find.
If the holder were made of inox steel, it would be perfect!.
The shavette is a dangerous and un predictable straight razor that i only useful for people with soft beards. If you have difficult stubble, the razor cuts along until it meets a patch of hair that stops the razor.
It then changes angle and cuts into your flesh. Not recommended for casual use. Unsafe to use.
The ideal introductory straight razor, the DOVO Shavette can be used with regular double-edge blades snapped in half. Consequently, it provides a barbershop-quality shave without the complicated maintenance of a regular straight razor.
Azure blue with black handle and red blade-holder. Black holder also included. Items included in package: 1 Dovo Shavette 1 Clear Holder (use with standard double-edge blades snapped in half) 1 Black Holder (use with Shavette long blades snapped in half) Made in Solingen, Germany.
This is my first time using a “straight razor. ” I wanted to see if I really wanted to go down this path or just stick to the known(plastic handle, twin razor, throw it in the trash after a couple of shaves).
After watching a number of video’s on Youtube(for the sake of your face, do some research), I had a good idea of what I needed to do. I was very surprised at how light the razor was. After getting used to holding it the right way, I started shaving, full face! It was fairly easy! I not saying that it was pretty, but I got the job done and I didn’t cut myself.
The pros: good price to see if you want to use a straight razor. Three different “blade” holders. Light weight. Felt good in my hand. Con: Ok, so this is just being picky. but I felt like the black handle was a bit flimsy.
But not so much I wouldn’t buy it again. And for price you are paying, you are getting a really good entry shaver that I think you could be happy using all the time. Again, very happy that I bought this straight razor.
The Dovo Astrale straight razor is a straight razor with a classic ebony handle and a 5/8″ “full hollow ground blade. The sleek razor edge will no doubt give the most comfortable, close shave possible.
This straight razor is a lovely combination of truly traditional function and stunning modern aesthetic.
Nicely made straight razor from a quality company. However, it was nowhere near shave-ready and had to be honed and stropped. Also, I found the scales a little light. Some may prefer this but I like to let the weight of the razor do the work.
This elegant razor is perfect for the novice just getting his feet as well as the expert looking for a great addition to his den. The blade is 5/8′ which is great for general beard growth removal and clear of markings which contributes to the clean lines.
The full hollow grind and carbon steel is often preferred for its audible feedback. You can hear the blade ‘sing’ as you are getting a BBS shave. However, care must be taken in maintaining this utensil as the carbon steel can rust.
Rinse with clear water after use and keep it dry. (Some would even encourage a swipe with the towel between passes. ) Always store in a well-ventilated area. And as long as you are embracing the straight blade, you might as well grab a good strop and learn the art of sharpening your newly acquired steel! The WCS logo is etched on one side of the tang and the reverse side boast ‘Handmade Solingen Germany’ so you know you are getting a quality product.
The tang and spine are oxidized for a unique black finish and the jimps on the underside of the tang provide an excellent grip. The scales are a classic black synthetic for a simple presentation. Each blade comes ‘shave ready’ in a beautiful Black Nappa leather sheath to protect your investment.
Invest in yourself, invest in your shave, invest is a great, enduring tool. Size: 5/8’Material: Carbon steelGrind: Full HollowScales: Black plasticMarkings: None on the blade, West Coast Shaving/Handmade Solingen Germany on tang Made in Solingen, Germany.
An excellent quality blade, great looking scales. Razor was sharp and shave ready on arrival. Good value for the money but more expensive than the Dovo “Best Quality” which is 30% less costly. I would expect the “house brand” to have little extras like fancier scales for the same price as the traditional brand’s plain version.
Overall a great razor and I recommend it without hesitation.
The FEATHER Artist Club SS Straight Black Razoris the ultimate replaceable blade shaving razor made with the strictest pursuit of perfection in razor shaving. The head is made of SUS317 stainless steel which enables smooth shaving and resists heat, chemicals and other impurities.
The rounded shaving head and optimal blade exposure provides a soft and smooth shaving experience. The purpose of the rounded tip of the SS razor is to gently push down the skin and disperse pressure at the blade tip, making the shave less damaging.
Providing excellent grip and control, the enamel handle is made from synthetically engineered resin which resists heat up to 275F (135C). The blade head is a spring-mounted, one-touch mechanism and can easily be dismantled and reassembled for cleaning.
The razor is autoclavable and disinfectant safe. The Feather Artist Club SS Razor comes in black, lime wine. When it comes to replacing blades, use only Feather Artist Club.
The duck-billed edge of the blade holder really works. It prestretches the skin to ensure close shaves. Although I do still recommend skin stretching the same way when you shave with a straight razor.
The kami style handle is very maneuverable around the face. Great for detailing beards/facial hair. Definitely loved my first experience with a shavette. May try a DX in the future.
Love this razor. My first foray into straight razor shaving was with a Parker shavette, using the feather DE blade. Honestly found the Parker to be quite dicey, thinking that perhaps straight razor shaving wasn’t for me.
That is until I tried the Feather Japanese straight. It’s got an excellent grip with the resin handle, perfect balance, and even though I’m using the professional blades with greater blade exposure, it still feels safer than the Parker shavette and has given me the confidence to keep at it and master the art of straight razor shaving.
One last thing. after using this not sure why someone would want to use a traditional style straight razor. The sheath can obstruct your field of vision and affects the balance of the entire instrument.
I have used this razor only since it arrived. It is my first shaving experience with a straight razor. Even with the guard blades, it shaves very close. I tried shaving soaps, a gel and Edge shaving gel from a can.
My barber recommended gels over soaps. The Edge seems the best so far. I haven’t tried the wool fat soap and suspect it will be really good. I will use this razor only for the first month to get a skill set and muscle memory.
Dovo Solingen – a name and a place which stand for quality, design and experience. Since 1906 they engage daily in development, presentation and production of premium cutlery and shaving items. All over the world their products are valued highly, and they often last a lifetime.
This classic, matte stainless steel shavette with black handle is the perfect entry level for the man who wants to start experimenting with old-world shaving. Made in Germany.
I tried this as an affordable step to transitioning from DE to a Straight. Some people consider these as a Frankenstein’s monster of a DE and Straight and refuse recognize some similarities and are pretty stubborn about its place and use, however if used correctly and a few adjustments are made the Shavette can make a good shaving tool, hopefully this review will be able to clarify some expectations.
1) A Shavette is really unforgiving with extremely sharp blades (i. e. feathers) and will likely require a downgrade in blade sharpness (i. e. merkur). I use feathers in my DE razors so my first natural instinct was to use these in the Dovo Shavette.
This left me nicked and razor burned until I switched blades. I found out later that this made sense as a Straight is not nearly as sharp (even when honed and stopped to perfection by a professional).
So the point here is you need to go through the match the blade to the razor and your skin type experiment again (blade sampler pack it), don’t be surprised if you end up using a blade you initially deplored during your DE days.
2) The weight is extremely light compared to a Straight. The Shavette will give you a lot of feedback, you will feel every hair being shorn. And because you have an exposed chemically sharpened blade against your face you want to start with very light pressure at the right angle and speed.
A straight will use its weight (similar to a DE) to do most of the work. Here you have to do the work, this is part of the unforgiving aspect of a Shavette with the wrong blade in it. 3) The angle you will learn to shave at with the Shavette is basically the same as a Straight.
The nice thing about the Shavette is that it has a fat “spine” so if your angle is to sharp or acute the flat of the razor will just slide across your face removing nothing. If you do this with a Straight you might skin thin slivers off your face.
Again if the angle is too great you will cut yourself badly. In short the Shavette will give you the opportunity to start with a small angle and slowly progress to the perfect shave angle, just try not to overshoot.
4) Due to the light construction and ample feedback you will want to control your speed consistently when shaving, moving the blade to slow can cause it to skip between hairs, as it is more difficult to control the pressure at lower speeds as you shear though the hair and may cause some serious razor burn and nicks.
And going to fast is obvious in the fact that you might just skin yourself if you abruptly change the angle or do something ******. But it’s the too slow of a shave that I want to emphasize. 5) The construction is simple and of course cheap.
You could upgrade it with a nice set of scales. One important point is when you get the shavette check how the blade fits the sheath when it is in the spine style holder. The blade may appear to look loose, and likely is, and will look warped this is because it is not in the holder tight enough.
Some people shim the gap to get a tight and straight blade fit. I put the prong side into a vice with a cloth on each side to prevent scratching and just squeeze it closed a little so that the sheath blade combo would then fit in tight and snug resulting in a straight blade edge presentation.
If the blade looks wavy you will have an uneven shaving edge and if your shave is not perfect it will nick/cut you. With my diatribe out of the way I would recommend this, it’s great to start the transition to a Straight as long as you are aware of the above differences, it’s reasonably priced and there is little maintenance.
It makes a great traveling razor. I also recommend the Dovo long blades for it if the cost of the blades doesn’t scare you. If it does scare you like I mentioned above do the old ‘pack sampler” to figure it out.
If you can perfect a Shavette shave (the most difficult razor I have had to use, but gives an unbelievable shave once mastered) I feel you will make short work of mastering a Straight.
I picked this shavette on sale at a local shop. I already own the Parker sr1 and the shave factory one, I was curious how well this would compare. At unpacking I was a little underwhelmed as it is very light and feels almost like a toy.
The one I picked up came with all three inserts, a DE blade and a shavette blade. I noticed that the slot for the spacer was a bit loose, but it was easily resolved by pinching it together. Once I started to shave with it it became obvious how great this shavette really is.
The narrow width of the holder allowed me to be more accurate under my nose, and the shape of the scales, allowed more visibility to what I was shaving when compared to the Parker. This shavette is now my go to razor.
This razor is my travel and emergency go-to. I own 3 traditional straight razors, which are my favorites to use. But this one still gives me the closest, smoothest and quickest shave. Beautiful to use.
And each 1/2 blade lasts more than six shaves. Well worth the money. I could be using only this razor, but wanted to see what it was like to shave like my grandfather. That’s why I use the straights.
This Straight Razor is handcrafted by Thiers-Issard, a prestigious French razor maker since 1884. The carbon steel blade is hollow ground to deliver a more comfortable shave and provide the sharpest edge.
I first bought this straight razor in 2011 from the UTC San Diego store over the years I have fell in-and-out of favor with it partly due the convenience of modern razors but largely due to my failure to maintain the blade.
Recently I bought a nice set of Shapton glass wet stones and to have returned this blade to it’s former glory. It feels so nice to have a straight shave again, I remember now why i loved it then. Definitely a process still – similar maybe to driving an old stick shift (and you don’t see those too much these days) but that nostalgia keeps us coming back.
Taking a nice hot towel to your face to warm up the hairs. lathering on layer of sandalwood shaving soap. Stropping the razor. Much more involved than a turn an burn engine. Much nicer cut than a Gillette.
There’s something about classics whether it’s a 2-tone classic car, a well worn leather jacket or a steeley straight razor. Our forefathers were on to something. They made great products with what materials they had, products that we can’t seem to beat today in performance or style.
Buy this razor and you’ll be happy you did 10 years from now like I am today.
I learned to shave with this straight razor 10 years ago and as previous reviewers have mentioned, it’s very sharp. Straight razor shaving is a skill and there’s a learning curve; you will cut yourself.
It goes with the territory. Once you have mastered it and aren’t afraid of it anymore, this blade is awesome. I’ve had to have mine honed once in 10 years. Other than that one time, use of the strop paste sold on this site and the standard leather strop have worked out perfectly.
The one time I had to have mine honed was as much my fault as anything; I dented it on the faucet. I won’t lie and say I used it every day. There are many days when I just want a quick shave and not a hobby.
I imagine if you used it daily it might require a hone more often. This is the perfect razor to start with, as it’s inexpensive, but the carbon steel blade is exactly the same one you’d get in a $300 straight razor.
Even now that I’m an experienced straight razor shaver, I haven’t found a need for another.
Love this razor. Perfectly balanced in my hand with a razor sharp edge. Couple passes on a quality strop maintains the edge perfectly. Very happy with this.
A beautiful and functional straight razor with a smooth wooden handle. Perfectly balanced for the smoothest shave possible. Never have a dull shave again with high-quality, but cost-effective, stainless steel blades that reduce razor burn.
Comes in a beautiful gift box. For best results, use with a soft shaving brush and rich shaving cream. Total length (closed): 15cm Shaft length: 13cm Shaving head height: 1. 7cm Stainless steel Wooden handle.

Visszaküldeni pedig már nincs időm, mert ajándékba rendeltem.
A straight razor is a razor with a long, thin blade that can fold into its handle. It is also called a “cut-throat razor. ” Straight razors were the only type of razor until the safety razor was invented in the late 1800s.
Today, straight razors are not as popular as they once were, but they are still used by some people. They can be found in stores that sell shaving supplies.

Why You Should Buy a Straight Razor
There are a few reasons why one might choose to buy a straight razor over other types of razors. For one, straight razors provide a much closer shave than other types of razors. This is due to the fact that the blade of a straight razor is much sharper than the blades of other razors.
Additionally, straight razors allow for more precision when shaving, as they can be maneuvered more easily around the contours of the face. Finally, many people simply enjoy the ritual of shaving with a straight razor and find it to be a more satisfying experience than shaving with other types of razors.

The Different Types of Straight Razors
There are many different types of razors available on the market today. The most popular type of razor is the straight razor. Straight razors have a long, sharp blade that is used to shave the hair on the face.
The straight razor is the most popular type of razor because it is the most efficient at shaving the hair on the face. However, there are many other types of razors available that can be used to shave the hair on the face.
These include:
-Safety razors: Safety razors have a protective guard that surrounds the blade. This prevents the user from accidentally cutting themselves. Safety razors are the most popular type of razor for beginners.
-Disposable razors: Disposable razors are designed to be used once and then thrown away. These razors are usually made of plastic and have a single blade. Disposable razors are the most convenient type of razor but they are not as efficient at shaving as straight razors.
-Electric razors: Electric razors are powered by batteries and use rotating blades to shave the hair on the face. Electric razors are convenient and easy to use but they can be expensive.
