i have dry, sensitive, cystic acne skin. my acne is hormonal as well so the past 1-2 years i’ve felt forced to accept the fact that no product will really be able to minimize the amount of acne i get due to the fact that it’s an under the surface type of problem.
i’ve been to dermatologists, i’ve tried retinoids, antibiotics, prescription topicals. a lot of which just ended up making my skin worse; either super irritated, red and dry, more acne, etc. so when i tell y’all that this is the best thing i have ever used and my skin is clearing up for the first time that i can remember.
even if i do get a new blemish/bump it goes away so quick. areas of cluster pimples i had for a month or two went away or were almost gone within a week of using this. NOW- i see a lot of ppl saying don’t use for sensitive skin.
i definitely have very reactive/sensitive skin and this is not bad on your skin. ultimately it 100% depends from person to person, just don’t not try it because you see reviews abt ppl saying so. i would recommend reading the ingredient list and feeling out for yourself if you know or think your skin might agree w those ingredients.
the one thing i will say is that every time i use it *it DOES make your skin tingle*. i think this sensation is possibly what /some/ people might interpret as burning. it even makes my skin slightly red upon application but i know both of these reactions are not bad for my skin bc both aspects go away within an hour or so of being on your skin, AND by the morning my skin tone is more even n doesn’t feel too dry or anything.
the first couple times i used i found my skin was a tiny bit flakey in a couple areas but was not accompanied by any redness or irritation (and it hasn’t done that anymore). my last thing is i’ve found it helpful to put it UNDER/before your moisturizer (i’ve read this can somewhat minimize the “harshness” of a product or ingredient if you have sensitive skin bc you’re diluting it a little w moisturizer layered on top).
i also use this all over my face for best results. only things i use for night time routine are this and ponds moisturizer! but bottom line what im trying to get across is don’t always listen to reviews since i have the same skincare traits as some other ppl that don’t like this product, but it has worked better than anything else i’ve tried.
find what types of ingredients your skin does like so you can really decide for yourself if something will work for you! :).
I used to struggle with cystic acne in college but it eventually went away. I’m now in my early 30s and they’re back! Last year they were so bad that I went to get steroid injections and antibiotics so that they would go down and not scar before my wedding.
I did a bunch of research and this product continued to make all the lists so I thought I’d give it a shot. I was so pleasantly surprised by the results. The size went down significantly in one day. I think I got too eager because of the results I was seeing that I applied too much of it around my face.
After 3 days, the cystic pimples were basically gone. However, my face is now very dry and scaly where I was applying the cream. Almost like I got a laser facial treatment or chemical peel. I will only use for spot treatment moving forward.
Like other reviewers have said, be sure to use sunscreen and moisturizer with this product. A little goes a long way and no matter how bad it is, start with once a day for a week to see how your skin reacts.
Fight acne without over-drying your face with Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment. This medicated acne treatment has a vanishing formula that absorbs quickly and works invisibly to fight acne with less irritation.
It contains just 2. 5 percent benzoyl peroxide, yet it provides the same maximum level of effectiveness as a conventional 10 percent benzoyl peroxide formula all without over-drying.
I have been using Neutrogena’s on-the-spot acne treatment for 5+ days now. Initially I needed it on my forehead for some mild acne. By the next day (after just one application), my forehead acne had vanished.
In addition, I now have an acne pimple on my left cheek and in between my nose and upper lip for which I have been applying this acne treatment for the last 3 days. These 2 spots in particular have taken more time to start clearing.
Finally on day 3 these 2 acne pimples have reduced in size and tenderness. It is important to mention that this acne formula, whose active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide 2. 5%, is very gentle on the skin.
I have had zero issues with skin irritation or dryness. Also, it rubs in clear leaving no trace of having applied the acne treatment. Overall I would recommend this product. I do feel it truly improved my acne quicker than if left untreated while being gentle to the skin.
Since wearing a mask I’ve had moderate acne around my mouth and entire chin. Almost as excessive as going through puberty again. I have sensitive skin so I was iffy to try something that’ll directly target acne and contains benzoyl peroxide.
This has been amazing. It doesn’t burn or irritate my skin AT ALL. It calmed the redness and bumps down almost immediately. I use it with a skincare routine and use it daily and it’s extremely effective.
My skin gets dry patches and can get flakey with certain products; but this didn’t cause any of that which was my biggest surprise. It doesn’t work instantly but if you’re consistent you definitely see results.
It absorbs quickly. I was able to put moisturizer and sunscreen right over. It added an extra three mins to my routine with applying and drying. It reduced the texture on my chin significantly in just a few weeks.
I have tried many different treatments, but had not tried Neutrogena On-the-spot treatment until now. I had a very angry spot along my jawline that I tested this on. I usually find that acne treatments dry out my skin and leave it flaky and burn, but this did not.
At the beginning of the test, the spot was very red and inflamed. 24 hours later, the redness had decreased to a light pink and the inflammation was decreased to maybe half. About 48 hours after the beginning of the test, it had reduced in size and color since the day prior, but was not completely gone.
On the 3rd day, it had reduced a bit more. It was not 100% gone, but enough that I could wear my usual makeup without taking extra steps to cover it. Overall, I believe that it sped-up the healing process on my blemish and I will use it again in the future.

Perfect for those with acne that are looking for fast results.
I’m definitely a fan of Murad products so with my dry skin, I was hoping this would be great for those extra dry days and after exfoliating treatments. I’m currently down to the last little bit of it.
Packaging is a nice glass bottle with a pump and twist top to keep it fresh. The formula contains Hyaluronic Acid , Glycolipids , Lecithin , Chamomile and Arnica-these promote moisture retention, improve the skin barrier, and soothe and prevent dry and flaky skin.
This is the first serum that I apply after my toner night and day. This absorbs nicely without feeling sticky and works well with all of my other products. I honestly don’t see much of a difference in my skin but it does feel soothing.
For $67 for 1oz, it’s not worth it. You can definitely find way cheaper alternatives that do a better job.
This soothing serum from Murad has been fantastic! It’s got all your usual goodies in there such as hyaluronic acid, chamomile, glycerin etc however this serum I specifically like to use after I have dermaplaned my face.
It just seems to soothe and calm everything down. It restores all that moisture after removing all those dead skin cells from my face. I don’t know why the Murad soothing serum works better than say my Good Molecules or Inkey List serums? All I can confirm is that it just does!? It’s lovely! I received this in my #ipsyglamplus bag in either August or September and am so glad I scored this item as I feel I found a hidden treasure 🤍 This serum will go on my repurchase list for sure! ♥️🤍♥️ #influenster #murad #muradsoothingserum #ipsy #ipsyglamplus.
This active 5% liquid benzoyl peroxide acne spot treatment effectively delivers oxygen into the pores to help kill the P. acnes bacteria responsible for acne breakouts. This formulation provides strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action to speed improvement of acne lesions.
Key ingredients Benzoyl Peroxide (5%), Gluconolactone, Lactic Acid, Grape Seed Extract and Tea Tree Leaf Oil.
If you have acne, please try this. I’ll never use anything else. I used to have hormonal, cystic acne before this. And, my 14-year-old son was being made fun of at school. I bought him some, and his skin cleared up within 2-3 days completely.
You’ll notice a difference if you leave it on overnight, even. I’m not sure what sorcery this is, but I’ve been using it for 7 years now and I hope they never discontinue it.
This cream has been a savior in the era of having to wear a mask. If I ever feel a breakout or any slight inflammation coming on, I make sure to apply on the area of concern. Although I usually have to reapply a few times to fully get rid of a zit or postule, I usually see the results within two days! So not quite a “magic potion” but definitely a great alternative to waiting it out and risk scarring.
Apply a thin layer to entire face twice a day after cleansing. Spot-apply if you are using another leave-on acne treatment. Using other topical acne drugs at the same time or right after use of this product may increase dryness or irritation of skin.
If this occurs, only one medication should be used unless directed by a doctor. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce usage to every other day.
I occasionally get hormonal cystic pimples and a few days ago, one developed on my chin. I could feel it coming and it was getting painful. Originally I was gonna get some microneedling pimple patches but when I got to the store, they weren’t what I thought they’d be.
A sales associate introduced me to this product instead and she kept saying it was like magic and how it’s blown up on TikTok, and while I was wary because what kind of product could possibly be this good, I got it anyway since it wasn’t that expensive and I didn’t want to leave empty-handed.
It’s also a good deal since the bottle’s pretty big and it’ll last you a long time if you’re only doing spot treatments. I used it once that night, and when I woke up the next morning I could tell the pimple was significantly smaller/less painful.
I was amazed. I used it again the second night, and the next morning I woke up and it was even smaller, hardly red, and barely painful at all. To be fair, I also did apply a regular pimple patch on top (on the second night only) which may have helped, but Clinque really brought the cystic pimple out from deep under my skin so that the pimple patch could work better on it.
I’m going to use it again tonight for the 3rd time and I’m hopeful that the pimple will be gone soon. Normally, without intervention, my cystic pimples last weeks.
I love this acne clearing gel! So 1st off I want to start out by saying this stuff REALLY works. I recently spent 400$ to find the best most effective products for MY face. I have oily, sensitive, acne prone, reactive skin.
So this was a true challenge, I started with a sulfer spot treatment to heal my hormonal acne that WOULDNT go away, for 8 straight months, I was insecure, miserable & in pain, the spot treatment didn’t work, so then I went into ulta, & on a whim bought the clearing gel.
My new face wash had already shrunk the acne a little bit, but then I spot treated with this and OMG, I woke up the next morning & they were significantly smaller & no longer painful! I will say it does burn going onto the pimple BUT so worth it & the burning never led to irritation, although I am scared to apply to my whole face even though I’m super acne prone & need that.
But ya this stuff works so good, no real scent, slight burning but again worth it, & not harsh at all, burning fades quickly. I will always have a bottle of this just incase, to help my persistent acne.
I wish I would have discovered this YEARS ago, like in high school. I’m in my 40s now and still dealing with acne from time to time. When I first start to feel something coming on, I put this on a few times the first day and it really makes a difference! most of the time it just is an irritating bump that clears up with the gel.
Once in awhile it gets a little worse but I know this gel stops it in it’s tracks and reverses whatever is going on. My acne would be way worse without this product! It definitely speeds the healing process and prevents acne from coming to a head.
I keep one in my bathroom and one in my truck (I don’t carry a purse anymore but I used to keep it in my purse instead, now it’s in my center console) so I am never without it because you never know where you will be when it first starts to come on and I want to be ready! Love it! Highly recommend! In fact, I just bought one for my teenage niece – I hope it helps with the teen hormone thing too.
Acure acne spot treatment works to treat acne by going right to the root of the problem. Additionally, acure acne spot treatment works to brighten and rejuvenate the skin, renewing its overall health and vitality.

Each bottle contains. 25 fl. ounce of product. Acure acne spot treatment is vegan friendly and is manufactured using cruelty-free methods. So when you use acure acne spot treatment, you don’t just do your skin a favor you do the world a favor.
This is a spot treatment, so I use it it by putting a little on the back of my hand and then use my finger to dab on the acne (be careful squeezing the tube, more will come out than you will need). I’ve been looking for the past few years for an acne medication to use.
I mostly have hormonal acne that presents itself in the form of cysts that either stay that way or turn into white heads. The day I used this for the first time at night; I had a huge cystic painful pimple, a few white heads, and a few smaller red pimples.
It burned on some of them when I dabbed the treatment. I woke up the next day and the pimples were less red and reduced in size by 50%. I used it in the morning and evening the second day and now on the morning of the third day, all my pimples are almost completely eradicated.
I’ve told all my friends about this magic spot treatment!!!!! I have not experienced any cons with this product. This is specifically for oily and combo skin. I have normal to combo skin and have not experienced any dryness or flakiness, but I use a good hydrating moisturizer afterwords.
Someone with dry skin might flake with this spot treatment. That’s the only con I can think that would occur, but that’s not necessarily the product’s fault, the consumer needs to do their research and read reviews based on their skin type – people with dry skin should likely not use this.
I really like this product, it’s pretty effective at reducing acne and helps it heal faster by reducing redness and inflammation if you’ve picked at any. I’m guilty of that and will dab this stuff on after cleaning my face and as the last step in my skincare routine (I prefer to put it on last so it doesn’t get spread all over my face when I moisturize).
I have normal skin that sometimes gets dry but this product doesn’t cause dry skin or flaking for me. I previously used the Alba equivalent of this and it wasn’t as effective, this gel will take out smaller pimples after 1-3 applications, bigger ones that are more stubborn will take longer to go away depending on how bad it is, but if you’re diligent about applying this stuff it will help a lot.
If I’m lucky enough to feel a pimple forming I’ll put this stuff on right away and it always helps to prevent it from getting bigger. Like other reviewers said, it will sting if you apply it to open pimples, but it’s a temporary inconvenience that goes away after 1-2 minutes.
I use this before bed as well as in the morning (a plus is that it’s clear so it can be worn during the day/when you’re in public) and I see a difference in pimple size within 42 hours for sure. HOWEVER I will not be buying this product again as the gel just oozes out constantly and it is so messy and inconvenient.
When I open it, it’s leaky, after I squeeze, it’s leaky. If Acure would just reconstruct the packaging to maybe have a pump, it would be so much better functionally. I will be finding a new spot treatment for this reason but would buy this again in the future if the packaging changes.

Vegan and cruelty-free Facetheory products contain a high concentration of actives, so only a small amount is required per use Super gel Moisturiser M3 is specially formulated for combination or oily skin that’s prone to breakouts.
Niacinamide, green tea, stabilised vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera relief congestion without blocking pores.
My skin is dry and sensitive and isn’t prone to acne, however when I do get spots they give me scars. I’ve been using this product for over a year and it is perfect for preventing spots and when I do breakout, the spots hardly ever have heads so they go away without marking my skin! I use this moisturiser before serums, retinols or heavier moisturisers as I feel it helps make sure stronger products don’t cause breakouts.
When I use the moisturiser on it’s own it’s very light weight and dries quickly. It leaves my skin super soft and refreshed but definitely a little tight so I’d recommend using other products alongside this if you have dry skin like me.
I think this will be great in the summer though. Overall I think this moisturiser creates a great barrier for your skin, and keeps it feeling clean. It’s great for when you struggle with skincare motivation and can only bring yourself to use one product or can’t be bothered with cleanser.
However I don’t struggle with the skin issues this moisturiser is aimed at so I don’t know if this works for oily/acne-prone skin.
Get the best prescription-strength acne treatment without a prescription. La Roche Posay Effaclar Adapalene Gel 0. 1% Acne Treatment is a topical treatment designed to clear and prevent breakouts. It targets them all from blackheads and whiteheads to acne blemishes and clogged pores to help you put your freshest face forward with confidence.
The non-greasy texture absorbs quickly into the skin for optimum performance, leaving you with better and better skin with every use.
I’m 6 weeks into using this and don’t want to review prematurely, but absolutely already see and love the results and I didn’t expect a change so quickly. My face is very oily and acne prone. I use liquid extra strength salicylic acid AM only & 5% benzoyl peroxide serum AM & PM.
I’ve been using that routine of treatments for acne/oily skin for about 10 years and it kept my skin looking good, but not great. My oily skin started looking dull over the last few years and then I developed a bout of hormonal acne for a few months before starting this adapalene.
I first started using this product every other night and for the first 2 weeks my face peeled a min/mod amount, it never felt irritated and easily washed off AM/PM and my face never felt dry/peeling throughout the day if I stuck with my AM routine.
After about 2 weeks I was able to start using this 6 nights a week and one night off a week with an AHA mask that night and I’ve been doing that routine for about 4 weeks. My skin has never looked better.
My hormonal acne dried up within the first two weeks and after everything healed my skin now looks so smooth and glowing. I still am peeling a tiny bit some mornings and my skin is still looking better each day.
Areas that have been dull for years look so much more smooth and glowy and my acne has been very stable. I highly recommend adding this product into your routine or starting a routine based around this product.
I started using this product about a year and a half ago. I discovered it on this Ulta website after viewing my face wash product, which is the La Roche Posay foaming facial cleanser. I was struggling with acne at the time and needed a good product to help with it.
I cam across the La Roche Posay Effaclair Adapelene Ance treatment. It is a light gel like cream that you apply directly on the acne. Overall this product changed my skin for the better ! The main strengths of this product are how it is effective, light weight, and long lasting.
I found this product to be very effective on my skin. My skin mainly struggled with blackheads and acne on certain areas of my face. It didn’t go away over night, however within weeks of using this product my skin improved a lot.
This product is also light weight. It is a gel like treatment, so it is very refreshing on the face when it is put on. I only use it at night due to its minimal exposure to the sun. Not only is is refreshing but it also tightens the skin and it feels smooth.
I find the acne treatment to be long lasting. A little goes a long way with this treatment. I use about a pea size amount for my entire face, so the entire thing lasts me about 4 months, sometimes more.
All of these factors really helped me continue the use of this product. This product also has it weaknesses, which are its side effects as well as its price. The product is effective, but that is because it is strong and that means there can be side effects.
When I first started to use it, it made my skin extremely dry. It makes it a lot more dry in the winter as well, so I avoid using it on my entire face. If it is too strong on the entire face, it is a good idea to just use it on the areas with acne.
The product is on the pricier side. It costs a little over 30 dollars for only one tube of the product, which can be a lot. Overall, the product will vary from person to person. Everyone’s skin is different, so what worked me might not work for you.
I really do like this product though, and will continue using it for my acne prone skin. I would say my overall evaluation of this product is a B. I wouldn’t rate it an A solely because there are some cons about the product such as price and it’s side effects.
Acne affects up to 50 million Americans each year, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Despite the fact that acne is the most frequent skin issue in the United States, many people still have trouble finding the appropriate acne treatment for their skin.
Prescription drugs, both topical and oral, as well as over-the-counter (OTC) skincare products, are used to treat acne. We recruited the help of board-certified dermatologists to help us narrow down the huge array of possibilities.
While their initial recommendation is usually to see a dermatologist, some mild acne types can be treated with over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Prescription-strength acne treatments and specialist consultation may be required for moderate to severe acne.

CeraVe Salicylic Acid Acne Control Gel 1oz is an acne treatment for face that provides a lightweight, hydrating full-face treatment to clear acne and help prevent new acne breakouts while minimizing the appearance of pores without drying the skin.
This CeraVe acne treatment for face is oil-free and free of drying alcohol, leaving skin looking more radiant, smooth and noticeably clearer after 3 days.
I started using CeraVe Acne Control Gel four months ago. Before that, I’d been alternating between two products with AHA and BHA ingredients since 2017 (Skinceuticals’ Blemish + Age Defense and Jan Marini’s Bioclear Lotion).
So far, CeraVe’s product is working just as well for me, even though the active ingredient % is lower than what’s in the products I had used before. It has 2% salyclic acid. I didn’t experience any irritation, although my skin is used to this ingredient (was using 3.
5% product for years). I’m happy with it, since I’m getting the same healthy skin results :)In case it’s helpful to know, it cost $12 for 1. 35 oz of CeraVe gel while the more expensive products that I swapped out cost $80-$92 for 1 liquid oz.
With the skincare industry is evolving, it’s awesome that there’s an influx of drug store products with ingredients to address skin concerns that were typically dominated by luxury brands. Just like what can be expected with any product, individual results can depend on different factors.

From the care taken in selecting each ingredient, to the feeling you get from using them, our formulas nurture the life of your skin. Burt’s Bees harnesses the power of nature to help your skin work beautifully.
I received this as a tiny breakout was starting, and tried this following the toner. A few hours later I noticed the spot had flattened, so I was thrilled about that. I also like the product a lot for the ingredients.
They feel soothing but there’s also a nice herbal scent. The citrus, achillea, borage, calendula, parsley, fennel, tea treat, eucalyptus, and juniper make for a soothing yet bracing combination. (Some of the bracing-ness might be due to the alcohol in the product, as it dries.
) But I do like how the ingredients work together, especially the hints of fennel scent that emerge after applying. It works fast, it’s easy to use, and it doesn’t annoy my sensitive/normal skin. I also discovered one other side benefit, one that’s even better than the breakout assistance.
I got this as mosquito season is getting underway, and mosquitos have always feasted on me, leaving me with itchy red welts and bumps wherever they attack. Desperate, I tried the Burt’s Bees clarifying toner on the bug bites and then applied this spot treatment on top of that.
It provided some very welcome relief, and a few hours later I noticed the bug bites had reduced considerably. It’s honestly the best bug bite relief I’ve ever experienced. (And I’ve tried toothpaste, witch hazel, peppermint and tea tree oils, clove oil, hydrogen peroxide, antihistamine creams and other concoctions.
) This, hands-down, provides the best relief for my bug bites. I might be applying this behind my ears when I go outside to see if this treatment drives them away.
I received this product free from the Burt’s Bees Hive Helpers program for review purposes. All opinions are 100% my own. I have never seen a product like this before and was excited to try it. It is marketed as an acne spot treatment, but it looks and feels like a facial oil, so that is how i incorporated it into my skincare routine.
The product has a distinct herbal scent that is quite strong that some people may not care for, but I like it. I used this product at night since some acne products can cause irritation when out in the sun for long periods of time (which my job requires) and applied it by patting it on with my fingers in problem areas on my face and neck.
I noticed a reduction in redness and new breakouts after using it for just over a week. I used this product every other day since acne products can sometimes be overly drying for my skin. Overall, I think this product works well and I would recommend it to others who have moderate acne problems and are looking to improve their skin.
I decided to purchase this item as more of a dark spot corrector than actually treating acne. I only get acne around my time of the month so it’s not severe, however, my skin is weird that one or two pimples leave dark spots.
I’ve tried everything and nothing seemed to work. Recently someone pointed out that the “mole” on my forehead was getting bigger/darker and that I should check it out when in reality it was just a dark spot.
I decided to use this spot treatment and honestly, after 6 days, the dark spot has gotten about 3 shades lighter. a few other spots have lightened up or disappeared as well. I will say that certain spots it really does dry out your skin, where I find myself peeling off dark flakes of skin.
Gross, I know. I suggest buying a really good moisturizer to put on about 15-20 minutes after you use this. The only true negative is, I actually really hate the smell. It has like hints of ginger and mint, not sure what but I hate both so maybe that’s why I’m not a fan.
The advantage acne spot treatment works fast to help reduce the visible signs of acne. This oil-free skin treatment is ideal for normal, oily, and combination skin. Clinically proven to show clearer skin in 100% of testers in one day, the spot treatment dissolves oil to allow the two-percent salicylic acid acne medicine to penetrate into pores for clear looking skin.
This advantage acne spot treatment is oil-free and won’t over-dry skin.
Honestly upon coming into this product I first thought it was going to be Neutrogena not its partner clean and clear. Me and clean and clear have a up and down on some products working and some don’t.
So I left the past alone and went straight new customer into this product, It’s funny because as the time it arrived I had a spot that needed to be treated. Upon first seeing of the product I’ve noticed its formula free of sulfates and phthalates with being oil free.
Now the one thing I noticed was claim of 100% of people showed clearer skin in one day that’s a big claim to use. So when I began to use this product when following the directions I recommends 3 times a day which is fine.
I think honestly within 48 hours is when I actually saw the less redness, less size and less swelling comparing to the “4hours” I do wish there was more info about this clinical study like a link or where I could go to see these claims.
Overall I do recommend this product just give it time for it to work.
I am a 42 year old woman with combination skin and mild/moderate acne. I think I can speak for everyone when I say “I HATE PIMPLES/ZITS!!” There is nothing worse than waking up to a huge, red and sore zit! That’s where Advantage Acne Spot Treatment comes in.
When I received this product from Home Testers Club in exchange for my thoughts, I knew this was going to be a product I needed. I applied the spot treatment to my pimple immediately after I noticed it’s arrival.
I washed my face, used the acne spot treatment, then did the rest of my routine skincare and the my makeup. That evening, I washed my face, and noticed the pimple wasn’t as engorged and sore, I applied the treatment again and the following morning I could definitely see visible signs of improvement.
If there is a product that miraculously gets rid of zits, I’d be the first to know about it but in the meantime, I’ll keep Advanced Acne Spot Treatment a staple in my skincare routine!!!.
I am 42 years old and i have tried a lot of acne products on the market. The ones I normally use for spot treatment are the patches and the benzoyl peroxide white cream. I had a normal hormone related pimple come up on my chin line and I popped it.
I washed the area and applied the Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. I like that it is clear, because this means I can wear it during the day and not have to worry about other people noticing it if I have to leave the house.
I feel like this product worked pretty well. The second day I used it, it had calmed way down and did not hurt to the touch and was already healing. The Advantage Acne Spot Treatment did not dry out my skin or make my skin feel irritated.
I would recommend anyone to add this to their acne routine. I received a free sample of the Advantage Acne Spot Treatment from Home Tester Club for my honest feedback.

Green Tea & Centella Asiatica Extracts – help to calm and soothe irritated skin without clogging pores.
I have cystic acne with Doc prescribed pimple cream and pills. With the constant friction and moisture from face masks my face was mad at me and nothing was helping. Not even the powerful Rx! I figured why not give this stuff a try, it’s a good price to at least see.
Within a week all the little pimples around my mouth, nose, chin, and cheeks were getting smaller. Within 2 weeks I was finally getting my skin back!! I thought it was a lost cause since face masks seem to be around for the long haul.
I really like that it’s a gel cream, which means it spreads far and you don’t need much. It doesn’t dry my skin out so I’m able to use it 2 times a day. It does stay tacky, but working from home I don’t wear make-up much anymore so I can let the tackiness dry down as long as it needs.
I’m a fan for life! Thank you for helping me get glowing happy skin again!!.
I haven’t had severe breakouts since I was a teenager up until the last couple months, suddenly my my lower jaw and neck were breaking out uncontrollably and very painfully. I’ve tried so many things and everything I tried just seemed to make it worse.
I’m not sure exactly what compelled me to give this a try but after not even a week of using this I am blown away by the improvement in my skin!!! The bumps are reduced, no longer super sensitive and painful and clearing quickly.
It feels so soothing with the centella extract and absorbs well into my skin. My skin is feeling softer, more comfortable, less red and as stated the breakouts are on their way out! I only use this in the PM and couldn’t be happier with how this stuff performs.
This stuff just works with my skin. I have combo oily skin, and previously was using the Neutrogena spot treatment. Although it worked on reducing blemishes, it would always dry out that particular spot.
Not with the Good Molecules BHA Clarify Gel Cream. It’s so light and weightless. It doesn’t burn as much as the Neutrogena one, which would make me tear up sometimes, lol. I can’t rave enough about it.
I’m about to buy like 4 of them to make sure I don’t run out, because with my PCOS I haven’t been able to get my acme under control. This cream makes breakouts close to disappear within 24 hours most of the time without drying my skin.
up & up acne spot treatment is formulated with benzoyl peroxide to treat acne and prevent future breakouts. This spot treatment penetrates pores to help reduce acne-causing bacteria. This vanishing formula won’t overdry skin or cause irritation to clear and protect skin.
I am a young African-American female and purchased this product to treat my frequent breakouts. At first, I enjoyed this product and found that it worked quite well, so well that when I finished my first bottle I went out and bought another one.
I also noticed that it had a weird smell that soon faded after some uses, and the texture is something of a light cream. When I used the second one I found that it worked even slower than the first. So I concluded that this product is a hit or miss item because depending on where you buy it and when does factor into the effectiveness of the product.
I found that the 2nd time the product took longer than what I was expected to. It did dry out my pimples and left me with slightly apparent dark marks, but it took 3-4 days when I could’ve gone and bought the Shea Moisture drying lotion (which does work for me at least) or used the Clearasil acne treatment or even used acne stickers.
I would recommend this if you have a week or so to get rid of your acne and don’t mind waiting some time. The spot treatment is also quite inexpensive so I didn’t and you shouldn’t expect much. This is worth how much it costs.
(P. S I am black and certain things don’t work for me as well as they will work for others with different skin tones or colors as mine, so be aware. ) (Also I mentioned some treatments that do work for me that are all available at varying targets).
UPDATE: It’s been about a month of using this product, and my acne scars are almost gone! I had dark areas around the acne scars that have completely cleared up, even though some little spots remain! Overall this is the only product to have helped my hormonal acne and I would give this product 100/10 if I could! Highly recommended!! Just a little warning though, when I first used the product, I’m not sure if I over did it or if my skin was just getting used to it, but the area I applied it to became very dry and RED, so make sure to use it when you’re not planning on going to an event or going out!! ORIGINAL: Only used this product for about a day, and I am planning on updating my review as I keep using it! I was looking for the 10% benzoyl peroxide, but it wasn’t available at my Target.
I’ve never had acne that would keep recurring in the same spots over again and on both sides of my cheek, I’ve had these spots for about 4 months. I used the Clinique acne gel as well as other products such Murad invisiscar, and the peace out patches as well as cosrx.
None of these have helped. I picked up this product yesterday to see if benzoyl peroxide is the thing I’m missing and now it feels as if these acne spots have gotten smaller, which all of the other products have failed to do! I still have spots and hopefully my next update will be to say that everything’s all cleared up due to this product.
$3. 60 vs. probably the $100 I paid for prestige brands.
I have sensitive/reactive skin so I felt as though this was a great spot treatment for me to start with. I get acne that pops up on my jawline, my cheeks and my temples. Instead of using this as a spot treatment 3 times a day, I’ve decided to use this following my moisturizer in the morning and evening rubbed in the general areas that I typically get breakouts.
This method, especially in the evenings have made a difference in the amount of acne and the size of them that tend to occur and so far, I have had no issues with sensitivity, dryness or flaking. There were maybe once or twice where I had a bigger sized blemish and after applying this in the evening, by the morning the inflammation had gone down to where I wasn’t sure exactly which one was bigger, sore and red before I went to bed.

Glytone Acne Treatment Lotion has a non-rritating formula designed to work with sensitive, acne-prone skin. This lotion utilizes the unique qualities of Salicylic Acid to penetrate pores to control acne blemishes, acne pimples, blackheads and white heads.
All of this while keeping your skin hydrated using their Hydro-Gel Matrix.
I lost the beautiful skin gene lottery and I have had acne since I was 10 years old to now 30-something years old. Trust me – I have tried all the BP products and this one is the best and only one I will use.
It is non-irritating but stronger than the 2% normally offered in the drugstore. After going to dermatologists, estheticians, etc. and paying for over-counter, high-end, and prescription (i. e. retinol) skincare products, I have found that using a salicylic acid (2% for me but 1% would probably work for others) during the day and using this benzoyl peroxide (no higher than 5% and applying after moisturizer) at night works the best.
I still get redness because I use both SA and BP but stopping either at this point results in breakouts. For people just starting, I recommend just using BP at night (or even every other night). If you dilute with moisturizer, the redness is minimal (and with this specific product, there is no irritation – peeling – which is amazingly rare for BP).
I hope they restock soon and keep this product around.
I’ve used the Glytone products for years. My skin is medium warm tone with acne comedones and cysts. Glytone Acne Treatment mask cleans deep into my pores, clearing out bacteria. This is the first step in my skin care routine.
I follow with the Glytone Mild Gel Cleanser and Hydra Lipid UV Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40+.
Murad Deep Relief Acne Treatment heals deep, uncomfortable acne with amino acid technology and maximum-strength 2% salicylic acid. This serum based treatment targets the bad bacteria that triggers severe, hormonal, and deep acne.
This powerful leave-on treatment targets acne for a quick, long-term solution and gives skin a clear, glowing complexion. This acne treatment is clinically proven to clear skin & lessen the discomfort of deep acne.
So about 3 days ago I woke up to the worst breakout I have ever had in my life. I barely had acne growing up and even as a young adult my skin was always clear. Over the last few months I have been dealing with hormonal acne, I eat pretty well, I drink tons of water, no sodas or sugary drinks besides my one cup of coffee every morning.
I also take supplements for skin and to my friends I am considered a skin care snob when it comes to my products! However ever since these hormonal issues came into play I just can’t seem to get my skin under control I was so embarrassed I called out of work it was that bad! I have always used Murads salicylic acne face wash almost ten years now it’s been a staple in my routine but that wasn’t even cutting it.
I decided to purchase this product same day delivery from Sephora because I was not leaving my house, I wish I could post pictures in this thread but as soon as I get done here I will post my review with pictures on Sephoras app.
It’s day 3 and my skin looks a million and one times better then when I started. I was terrified this product would burn but it was so soothing and it didn’t dry out my already inflamed skin. This product will be something I always keep on hand from this day forward because I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this product is for acne sufferer’s thank you Murad for making such an incredible product!!!.
I was gifted by Murad Skincare in exchange for my honest review! If you have stubborn acne and blemishes, you know that they aren’t easy to get rid of. Blemishes can be painful, itchy, red, or inflamed—and they can last for weeks! But, thank goodness the Murad Deep Relief Acne Treatment spot treatment was designed to treat acne and blemishes on the spot.
It’s formulated with salicylic acid (2%), amino acids, and natural phytosteroids. Together, these ingredients target breakouts and prevent new acne from appearing by addressing irritation-causing bacteria and hydrating the skin.
They also soothe and reduce redness caused by inflammation. This spot treatment does an incredible job at clearing out breakouts, reducing redness, soothing discomfort, and visibly improving the complexion.
I highly recommend it! Best of all, this product is free of parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mineral oil, oxybenzone, and sulfates SLS & SLES. It is also gluten-free and cruelty-free!.
Soothe and treat blemish-prone complexions with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+. This cult favourite product combines a variety of soothing and purifying ingredients that cater especially well for oily or acne-prone complexions.
Niacinamide is rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants, known for its brightening properties and ability to even the skin tone. Glycerin actively improves the texture of skin, leading to a smoother, softer and more refined complexion.
The formula also includes Salicylic Acid, an ingredient popular for soothing and treating acne, which improves the appearance of pores, spots and blackheads and controls unwanted shine. La Roche-Posay is a French skincare brand that aims to produce the most effective products for sensitive skin, with solutions for even the most reactive or delicate skin.
This product is no exception, and is ideal for inflamed skin prone to breakouts. Use as a daily moisturiser to hydrate and soothe the complexion, protecting the skin from marks left by blemishes. Apply to the whole face in the AM and PM, avoiding the eye contour.
This product is free of parabens, preservatives, soap, lanolin and colourants.
I have now been using this moisturiser for around a year. It may seem expensive, but a little goes a long way. I started to use this after my dermatologist recommended it. I realised I had skin picking disorder, so my face is fairly covered in red marks and scarring.
After using this moisturiser for months, I had forgotten how good it is. I switched back to my other moisturiser after running out for around a week or so, and forgot how thick it was. The La Roche-Posay moisturiser, in comparison, is extremely light and makes your skin feel smooth, but not greasy.
It has improved the appearance of my skin after using it again for only a few days since re-ordering. I have had no new spots as with my other moisturiser, and it really does reduce the appearance of red marks.
I have never used a moisturiser which makes me feel more confident with the appearance of my skin, and I have never stuck to another for so long after finding it works. I always recommend this to everybody, and will continue to do so even more after being reminded how well it works recently!.
Okay so I gave this a good long shot before writing a review. I bought it after my best friend’s boyfriend recommended it to her. It cleared up both their skin & he was recommended it by his dermatologist so I thought I would give it a try! I’m on my second tube of this and use it every morning.
It has made my skin a little dry though (so beware! Not for super dry skin girlies) so I use another basic moisturiser on the evening and it evens it out. This moisturiser works fantastic under makeup, doesn’t make my primer or foundation go weird, which is a big plus! – My skin absolutely looks beautiful now.
I have suffered with acne for yeaaars and get hormonal breakouts. My skin looks so even and I hardly get spots anymore. I do however still get the occasional under the skin bumps when hormonal. But the big noticeable hormonal spots are gone! So happy with how my skin is looking, definitely will keep going with this stuff! Sometimes you just have to stick with things a little longer to get results.
I cannot believe it took me so long to try this. I have been using spf moisturisers for 5 years and the effects on my skin are such that people routinely guess my age 7 years lower than what it actually is.
My skin was kinda oily and I was looking for one that balanced well and wasn’t just a mattifying moisturiser that ruins my pores. I tried this because of: price, niacinamide, and spf30. I have been using it for two months and I will not be switching any time soon.
It reduces appearance of poors (niacinamide), stops me burning (spf30) and best of all, my skin looks balanced and clean with no oiliness or dryness. It spreads easily and without excess residue, doesn’t feel oily, and the bottle lasts surprisingly long despite liberal application.
I wholeheartedly recommend this moisturiser. 10/10.
This lightweight hydrator with. 5% Salicylic Acid helps clear and prevent breakouts while improving tone and texture in acne-prone, sensitive skin. The balanced formula includes nourishing botanicals and prebiotic complex to alleviate dryness and helps soothe the appearance of acne redness.
It helps to absorb excess oil and provides a matte finish for softer, smoother skin. The unique hydrator helps to clear acne while a skin brightening complex helps to reduce the appearance of pores and post-acne marks.
Style Name:AM Treatment Help eliminate acne breakouts & redness with Neutrogena Stubborn Acne AM Treatment. From the #1 dermatologist-recommended acne brand, this daytime acne treatment reduces the size & redness of stubborn acne and post-acne marks in just a few hours.
The clinically proven acne treatment is inspired by a dermatologist-recommended regimen for clear skin and contains 2. 5% micronized benzoyl peroxide acne medication to penetrate deep into pores and kill acne-causing bacteria at the source.
When used together with Neutrogena Stubborn Marks PM Treatment, 86% saw clearer skin after just four weeks. The daily treatment vanishes into skin, and is oil-, paraben-, phthalate-, dye-, and fragrance-free.
For best results, use Neutrogena Stubborn Acne AM Treatment along with Neutrogena Stubborn Marks PM Treatment as part of your skincare routine. The retinol in the PM formula helps release pore-clogging dead skin cells, giving the benzoyl peroxide a clear path to effectively target acne-causing bacteria.
I have little bumps in my forehead so I was looking for an acne treatment, I thought this was the perfect solution! – ‘thought’. On the first day of using this, my skin was a little red & sensitive but nothing too bad.
As each day progressed, it kept increasing in redness and burning; I chalked it up to starting a new product on my skin and my skin does feel a bit of a tingling sensation when using products like retinol (I have also not been using retinol recently).
So, I tried reducing the amount that I use to less than a pea size and only applying it to my chin, forehead, and the sides of my nose (my typical trouble areas). I kept applying it and after about 3 days of use, it began itching a lot.
My family and friends also noticed the redness on my face and it caused my cheeks to feel very textured with bumps, redness, and a rigid surface. Not only that, the few cystic acne that I sometimes get on my forehead and chin more than doubled.
I stopped using it after the 4th day and even after that (today is 7 days after I bought this product) I still have redness, bumps, itchiness, dryness and my skin overall feels horrible. Perhaps I was allergic to an ingredient on this product but it made my skin even worse and it still hasn’t recovered.
Seeing so many positive reviews, I thought this would really clear up my skin but eh, it just wasn’t for me. So, those who have a similar skin type as mine, please be careful!! Don’t be like me and actually test the product on a small section of your hand or neck for a few days before using.
Additional note: all these negative effects to my skin only began after using this product. My skincare routine is quite simple. I use CeraVe: Renewing SA Cleanser to wash my face, Cetaphil: Moisturizing Lotion (face and body), and Neutrogena: visibly even daily moisturizer with sunscreen (Broad Spectrum SPF 30).
I’ve been working in beauty (not for this brand) for so long and have tried nearly every acne treatment under the sun (both OTC and prescription) and I think this is a must try for sensitive skin. My skin is always sensitized, can have reactions similar to that of a chemical burn with so many ingredients.
There was a point in my life when I was thought to be allergic to benzoyl peroxide because of the type of reaction I’d get from a 5% or 10% product. It was awful. I tend to avoid any benzoyl peroxide product because of this, but I received a sample in the mail (i think in a magazine, maybe?) of this product and decided to give it a try due to my recent bouts of cystic acne caused by hormonal BCP.
OH MY GOD IT’S AMAZING. I immediately bought the full size after one night. Compared to every other benzoyl peroxide product I’ve used (and some salicylic acid based acne products), this product is so gentle on my skin and causes no adverse reaction aside from dryness occasionally, which is easily combatted by a thicker moisturizer.
I recommend using it at night rather than during the day. If you have extremely sensitive, acne prone skin just give it a try! *this is not a sponsored post in any way shape or form.
I absolutely love this stuff! I’d used a sample size of the “blackhead control” product of the same line from a beauty box and that stuff was great, so I was really lookin forward to trying this. The packaging is efficient(cleaner than having product in a jar or anything u have to dip ur fingers into repeatedly); it’s in a flip top container n opens/closes without an issue.
I didn’t notice a scent to it, and it didn’t irritate or tingle/burn at all. I had a HUGE pimple starting on my chin when this came, n after using this literally 3x, it’s already gone. That’s usually a difficult feat to accomplish when one of those types of blemishes crops up.
I was super pumped about it lol. Definitely gonna be buying a bottle when this one runs out! It did pill a little bit when I went to use a hyaluronic serum afterwards, but I think I obviously used too much of it that time cuz it only happened 1/3 of the times I used it.
Overall, I highly recommend trying this out for urself!.

I am very picky when it comes to my skincare, so when I received this little green tube from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was nervous. My skin can be unpredictable. At 31, I still struggle with acne on occasion.
During the winter, redness and dry patches are my worst enemies. So I have my tried and true team of toner, serums, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer and my beloved retinol to keep my skin happy. But I don’t have a spot treatment.
They usually fail me—too harsh, leading to drying/peeling and irritation which inevitably leads to another breakout. exactly what I was trying to get rid of! Vichy Normaderm S. O. S. Acne Rescue Spot Corrector has done none of that for me, thankfully! I’ve had the opportunity to use it a couple of times now, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised! My sensitive skin has not reacted, at all, no matter how often I apply it (it recommends 1-3 times per day, but beginning with once per day and moving up to avoid any dryness).
A very tiny dab of it goes a long way, and I love that the tube is made specifically to only dispense a teeny amount. Though it is a sulfur based spot treatment, it does not smell strongly of sulfur.
One of the blemishes I used it on happened to be on the tip of my nose (thanks maskne. ) and I did not find the smell at all unpleasant. I experienced no redness or drying, and the blemishes cleared quickly, typically within a day.
And it seems to help them to heal faster too. My skin likes to hold on to the red mark where the blemish was for quite some time, but this spot treatment seemed to cut that down to just a day or two.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this product and happy to add it to my skincare routine!.
My acne always flares up every month, so I was so excited that the Stellar Product Testing Panel asked me to try out a spot corrector for my honest review! I started using the Vichy Normaderm S. O. S.
Acne Rescue Spot Corrector at night when I saw a few acne flare-ups, and I was very impressed with the results overnight! My acne noticeably improved by the next morning. It worked especially well for those annoying and painful red acne bumps, as they were completely gone in only 2 days after using this product.
My go-to spot corrector has always been products with benzoyl peroxide because of of how quickly it works, but the huge down-side to benzoyl peroxide is that it bleaches fabrics. This was my first time trying a sulfur-based spot corrector.
The Vichy Normaderm S. O. S. Acne Rescue Spot Corrector works just as quickly, and I had zero issues with bleaching! One of the side effects that I read about with the Vichy Normaderm S. O. S. Acne Rescue Spot Corrector is dryness, but I did not experience any dryness during the 3 weeks that I have been using it so far.
The only down-side with this sulfur medication is that it does have a faint sulfur smell. Therefore, I prefer to use the product at night. I did try this spot corrector once during the day, but I kept smelling the sulfur.
With that being said, overall, I’ve been very happy with the quick results of this product without any side effects, and I plan on continuing to use this spot corrector nightly as needed!.
I’ve been using the Vichy Normaderm S. O. S. Acne Rescue Spot Corrector for about a week now. It arrived just in time for my monthly break out. Whoever told me that acne goes away after your teen years has a lot to answer for! At 37 years old, my acne has been getting worse and worse since my second baby was born.
Every month like clockwork, here it comes. Therefore, I was very excited to get to test this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I need to use it for a bit longer before I’ll be able to give a 5 star review but it does seem to work so far.
It’s not the magic pill I’ve always dreamed of that will 100% cure my acne but it’s a relief to have while I wait for magic to become real. It works especially well on small pimples that are just forming.
I noticed that for blemishes that were more established, it brought them to a head overnight and then they quickly healed from there. I had one large, stubborn pimple that this was not able to get rid of but I do think it helped reduce the size.
I only use the S. O. S. Spot Corrector once a day since it’s winter and I don’t want to risk drying out my skin too much. Once a day application did not over-dry my skin at all so next time I might try applying it twice a day to any particularly stubborn blemishes.
I like that it is non-comedogenic, oil-free, paraben-free and fragrance-free. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin but have had some irritation with other treatments so I’m happy to report no negative side effects with this one.
All in all, I think this is a good spot corrector and I definitely plan to keep using it!.
