TL/DR: This pillow is definitely not a one size fits all: I am 6’4’’, 210lbs, and the ‘Standard’ size fits me just barely. So, if you are taller or heavier I would opt for the XL. Pillow is comfortable and sturdy—however the handle feels a bit flimsy, but no problems, yet.
I have found that I am reading for longer periods of time because I am more comfortable and there is less strain on my back and neck. I would recommend this to friends and family and will probably buy for my parents for their birthdays or Christmas.
Arguably a year or two ago the idea of buying a pillow expressly for reading would have seemed ridiculous to me, but as I entered grad school my neck and back started to ache from sitting in a chair, on my bed, or on the couch.
I’ve had this pillow for several days now and have used it for probably about 8hrs in total. Several things that I have noticed over the past several days: • I’m reading for longer periods because I am more comfortable—I don’t have to get up every so often and walk around to get the kinks out of my neck and back.
• My arms don’t get tired—because of the arm rests—from holding my kindle or iPad up while reading. • I find myself using this pillow in place of the back cushions on the couch. Since my couch, and those in the homes of many of my friends, is parallel to the TV, I have to either be sitting up or lying down in order to comfortably see the screen.
With this pillow, I have removed the back cushion on my couch, and place the reading pillow in the corner—this way I can be reclined without the need of an actual recliner. Not to mention this pillow is a lot more comfortable than the couch cushion.
This pillow is quite a bit heavier than it looks and the stitching and fabric appear and feel sturdy. It is easy to get lost in a book while reclining onto this reading pillow, which a friend told me the other day used to be called a husband pillow.
The only part of it that feels a bit weak is the handle on the top. While it is holding up just fine after several days, it does feel flimsy when under the weight of the pillow—while feel isn’t everything a stronger handle would make me like the pillow a bit better and I wouldn’t worry about tearing the pillow open every time I grabbed it.
If you don’t like the color or you just want to protect the soft covering, you can find husband pillow covers online as well—but perhaps Malouf already has or will have coverings available shortly. One thing I would like to see in future versions: multiple colors in each size.
I wanted the navy one, but it was only available in XL. However, now that I have it I am fairly content with the gray, but it would have been nice to be able to match the color to a couch or bed frame—that said, gray goes with just about everything so it was a good color for Malouf to choose given they only chose one.
Looking for a discount and being budget friendly, I scoured through warehouses deals and sales for this particular item. I know getting a generic version would be the simple solution. Heck I live 10 mins from one for purchase.
The reason why I went all and time for this particular brand is simply the quality. Those other cushions had nothing against this comfortable giant. The one I purchase beats in weight and height. Those things are important if you want to support your back in a lounging position.
Another design feature is the fabric quality and stitching to make it very durable and comfortable. The item comes vacuum sealed to save space. While it slight damaged where the vacuum leaked it still stayed compact and no sign of damage.
It said to leave the pillow for 1 hour and it will reshape. I suggest instead to lay it upside down almost to form a pyramid. It allows the side where you rest on it the most in support and structure.
The fabric of the pillow is one of the nicest microfiber that I had to ensure by looking at the label. It feels like freaking fleece and you can clean it easily following the label, and those features laid the last nails in the coffin of any doubt of this purchase.
The pillow comes in a compressed, cylinder plastic wrapped package. I was surprised it could compress down so much, but as soon as I opened the package it fluffed up quite a bit. It has a weird chemical smell, similar to the mattress pad I purchased a few years ago; the mattress pad smell went away, so I’m sure after a few days this smell will, too.
The instructions say to let is sit in a well-ventilated area for 24-48 hours before use. I’ll do that before testing it out. After sitting on the pillow while working on my computer all day, I can definitely say I’m a fan.
I love the feel of the material; it’s incredibly soft. It provided nice neck and back support. I especially like the small armrests where I can put my elbows when working on my laptop. It is comfortable both when sitting upright as well as laying down with just your upper back and neck curved; perfect for reading, working or just relaxing.

I was surprised with the stiffness of this pillow. I was fearful it would sag. When I opened it from the vacuum sealed package it looked sad! But after 30mins in the no heat dryer cycle it cane to life! The label recommends five minutes only, but I didn’t like how it looked so I let it go another 20mins.
I have it on my bed and love how it supports my back as I watch TV or read a book. It’s only been about a week and I’m happy so far.

If you put it in the dryer for 5 min it fluffs right up. Pictures are wrong. Top pillow is not a roll but a flat pillow with round front. Has a pocket in front of one of the arms with a slit, not sure what that is for and roll pillow has no elastic to attach like the pictures show.

Biggest waste of money in a while. I use one of these everyday cause I have a bad back but the one I’ve had for 5 years now started to flatten out cause I’m a big guy. Good news is I don’t think it’s possible to flatten this one out but the bad news is I’ll never know cause it’s that uncomfortable that it will never get used.

My new XXL husbando came in the mail yesterday and it’s already changed my lounge life for the better. When presented with the densely packed package, I was perplexed how such an XXL item could fit in such a tiny envelope.
But upon unwrapping, husbando expanded like one of those dino capsules you put in water as a kid. Except I put it in my dryer on medium heat for 20 min instead. This got rid of most of the stinky “offgassing” smell.
I was already Netflix and chilling with husbando that evening and hope we’ll be together even post pandemic for many years to come! Note that some reviews on Amazon complain the pillow is hard as a rock, however, you need a firm yet yielding husbando for support which is what you get.
It’s definitely not too hard but more akin to a comfy sofa type experience than a “pillow” pillow if that makes sense.
After many years and hours of propping my head up with my left arm at a 90 degree angle lying on my side in bed watching TV and looking at my lap top, I have developed nerve damage in my arm (Hopefully not permanent).

First off I have read where some people have complained about a smell from there pillow, I have a pretty sensitive nose and the pillow has no smell. Next I want to address the Pillow’s headrest adjust ability, which I could not figure out at first.
There are two big buttons on either side of the main part and the head rest pillow has two straps with three holes where it can be attached in three position. At first I attached it to the first hole (cause I could not see the other two) and I thought the headrest flopped around to much.
Then I saw the second and still not perfect. Then I buttoned the strap at the position at the hole closest to the head rest an Viola. Perfect. Just enough adjust ability. so the headrest can adjust on the fly without to much Play.
At first I thought the headrest was just a little soft and I don’t have a cell phone to text so I replied to one of the company’s e-mails, gave them my phone # and requested an additional bag of stuffing.
They replied to my e-mail with a Tracking # left a message on my answering machine right away and 2 days later I had my bag of stuffing ree of charge. I ultimately decided not to mess with it but I have it if I change my mind in the future.
The medical table and the Husband Pillow are two of the best purchases I have made in my life. My arm,back and neck pain are getting better by the day. The Arm rests are very nice and ergonomic. One additional thing I have figured out and would advise is after an hour or so you may start to slide down, I would get out of bed and sit back down correctly re-positioned as opposed to trying to push yourself back up.
This is the best thing you could possible own For sitting up in bed (or anywhere else) and doing stuff for hours at a time in comfort. Go for it.
Placed my Order on November 6th ! November 13th SOMETHING Arrived !?! Didn’t get what I ordered till DECEMBER 4th !! They TRIED to FORCE Something, OTHER Than what I Ordered, on me ! I Had an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT time Just Trying to Place the Order.
The Fiber fill I Wanted, WAS NOT Available in the website’s Drop down menu. I Had to make a Custom Order, instead of using the Main menu. Which ONLY had Memory Foam. So when I Ordered a Fiber filled, w/ Extra “Oomph”, Which they must Not have had in stock.
They Sent me a MEMORY FOAM Filled Pillow !!!!?!!!?!!! 😲😡😖😵😠 And then it Took an ADDITIONAL THREE WEEKS to get What I Ordered. The Memory foam Can NOT be WASHED. Oh! Almost Forgot And it STINKS 😫 !!! Like Musty, Mildew, mixed with the Smell of a Dirty Factory.

I was purchasing this for my granddaughter, it arrived fairly quickly but it arrived so scrunched together that when i unraveled it it was so wrinkled i couldn’t possibly give it as a gift. I let it sit out for a week or so hoping the wrinkles would go away but they did not so i returned it.
I bought this as my TV viewing and book reading prior to sleep wasn’t very comfortable when I raised the head and feet on my Flex Fit base. The wedge pillow didn’t work nor propping up two sleeping pillows.
I really searched for the perfect solution and the picture on this one certainly didn’t look comfortable. I even called customer service. They had no personal experience but said I had nothing to lose by ordering because if I hated it I could return.

Amazing Pillow! I ordered this for my girlfriend because she needed something for when she sits up in bed. Since I already have purchased other pillows from sleep number and loved them I knew this one would be great.
My Girlfriend loves it because she spends alot of time reading from her ipad before bed and this pillow helps keep her comfortable instead of leaning up against the headboard of the bed. We have already packed it on multiple trips because she says others pillows dont cut it.
I was given this pillow to review. Out of the box it is a heavyweight with a dense feel that molds to your body. It is amazing for watching TV on the couch, would be perfect for gamers, and if you have a bed that the head raises this pillow supports you in the perfect position for reading, journaling or anything else you want to do.
If you don’t have a head that raises the pillow can be placed against the wall or headboard just as easily and it works great. I have low back pain from years of bedside nursing in the hospital and this pillow has provided immediate relief after a long day of work.
I don’t recommend falling asleep with it unless you have a pillow that will support your head but I did add a pillow on top behind my head and was able to nap on the couch in comfort. The cons are so minor they really don’t take away from the pillow at all.
It comes with a case that zips on and off so it can be easily washed which came in handy when my dog decided he also wanted to test it out (this is a huge plus) however white is the only color it comes in and because the shape is different you are stuck with a big white pillow on the couch which might bother some but I don’t mind.

It’s almost like a dark denim in color and fabric. It does have some weight to it but it’s not heavy.

First, this is an old fashion pillow, which was why I was surprised by it’s small size. U-shaped backrest, separated arms are only about 10 inches apart. Our old dead pillow was better than twice the width.
It also weighs less than 1/2 our old one. But, with that said, the fabric is good cordoroy and the burgandy color was what we expected. it just looks like a childs bedrest or a little ol lady. Considering it is not a common need, it will suit us fine even if my hubby feels a bit squeezed into it.
Secondly, It has simple construction, no pockets like our old one. Shipping was quick, no problems receiving the merchandise. sh.

I just couldn’t believe how large it was! And I intended to put in my bedroom for reading, as just that, a back pillow. I would be very mistaken! While trying it out on my beautiful already soft, wide & long couch, watching a favorite film.
I fell asleep on it!! The back is so soft, comfy & high. But I stretched out on my side while watching the favorite film I’d NEVER fall asleep to. When stretched on my side, I put my head down on the arm rest.
They too are fluffy, soft & wide. I fell sound asleep on the big comfy arm rest!! It’s important I note, that I have severe insomnia. I’ve NEVER had any pillow including my downy bed pillows, literally “put me to sleep.
” I would describe the feeling as, feeling arms wrapped around me, holding me while I slept. I’m a professional Prima Ballerina and with all the physical energy needed daily in Company, I still had insomnia.

I placed an order online today, 11/1/20, for this item. When I put the item in my cart it said it was in stock. Then after the order was placed and I was checking order status, the estimated delivery date was 1/21/21.
It thought that must be a mistake. So I went back to the product and put it into my cart again. Again it was “in stock. ” I completed the order and the estimated delivery date was 1/28/21. I cancelled the second order.
There must be a glitch in the ordering system. I’m trying to decide whether I will cancel the first order and then try to find another wedge.
