20 Best Pill Crusher For Feeding Tube (2023 Updated)

Because my Senior Mother cannot swallow pills, we have crushed them on various devices for 20 plus years. Mostly we have used high end electric coffee and or nut grinders. They last anywhere from 1 use to months.

Their main disadvantage is that these electric coffee grinders spue out a powder from the crushed pills. We love the Silent Knight pill crusher as this fine powder is not created! Then we place the crushed pills into Yogurt and she swallows this successfully.

My wife has problems taking pills. Now that we are older, there are more pills to take. The other type of pill crushers just doesn’t last long. The design and heavier metal makes this a more practical effort.

This was advertised as an older 100 model, which we were looking for. It is the new model 500 which does have a larger opening for larger pills to crush!!! Works well!!!

This is amazing. I need to crush a pill daily for my little dog – so annoying. Each pill is 4 days so I cut the pills into 4 small pieces. I really didn’t think this Ezy Dose Pill Crusher would work but was desperate.

It pulverized the pill perfectly and is easy enough to use with arthritis! The round white thing on top is a lid. You can even store pills in this!.

Easy use, easy grip and great for individual with dexterity issues. Very affordable, quality design built to withstand repeated use. I m very satisfied. It’s very small but work great. Easy to crush and storage too.

I needed to crush one-quarter pieces of pills for my cat, as the edges of the cut pill were causing problems with swallowing, and manual crushing wasn’t working well. I needed the medication to be complete, since the dosage is so small.

I was afraid the normal pill crushers with teeth-like crushing would cause me to lose part of the dosage. This product met my expectations as it is a flush, complete pulverization. I do have to assure the pills are centered, and usually have to back the lid off and check, sometimes rearranging the pills and crushing a second time.

Storage is a bonus – two compartments for the quartered pills mean less bumping around with the other pills, risking premature pulverization and inaccurate doses!.

I’ve bought 2 other pill crushers that absolutely didn’t work. This one works great and completely grounds the pull up as it’s supposed to. Also, I have rheumatoid arthritis and I can use it for myself! It’s a great product and much better than many others out there.

The pill crushers with the pointy end work well. Go back and look at the picture, and if it doesn’t show you a pointy end, don’t buy it. None of the crushers work well on some very compressed pills. Cut them in half and then put them in the crusher, and they work just fine.

This is the best pill cutter I’ve ever used. It cuts any pill in half with ease. That’s the main reason I use it.

Having to crush my son’s meds four times daily, I’d worn out my pill crusher and searched anew. This crusher had more positive marks and ordering from Walmart is always a breeze so I decided to try it; PLUS, it was quite affordable.

From constantly moving my quadriplegic son in his bed, my wrists are always in pain and I have to wear braces. I found that this crusher worked rather well and would CERTAINLY be a GREAT crusher for anyone whom does NOT have injured wrists.

As long as I’m careful, I can attain crushability with minimal harm to my wrists. The top of this crusher is cushioned and as I read previously, and would agree, that if the bottom of the crusher were also made like the top, the comfort level would be very good.

I rest the bottom on my wrist brace and that provides the padding needed. But I suppose holding any cushioned object beneath the crusher would work fine. Just be sure to turn left and right consecutively and when you “hear” no more pills being crushed, simply raise it above your head and you can SEE through the bottom as to whether there are pills still in need of crushing or there is an all over “smoothness” to the med sediment in the bottom of the crusher.

If smooth, then your mission is probably complete. So, it DOES crush well; especially for the price.

It was nicer than I expected, so I ordered another one for a family member. It grinds pills down to a powder form. Initially I put in too many tablets that ranged in different sizes DUH! I would suggest, based on the size of the pill/tablet, not to put any more than 2 at a time if the pill is large.

High quality, washes easily– I would highly recommend.

First priority would be ability to grip the device solidly without slipping. I have tried a few but only 2 made it and tied for ease of use and quality of the crushed pill. This is of next importance is to grind the pill to the density of what ever your purpose is.

Some like it in different textures. Lastly after ascertaining the resilience of the device one would expect a strong build and finally the cap. The cap is ergonomically designed to a ubiquity of possible sizes where one size fits all.

And of course which hand you prefer to hold stationery and the other palming the crusher while unscrewing it and at the same time in rhythm if you like, There are no. And after you love it’s useful-ness, pick out which color insulated lid appeals to you.

You will be together for quite a while. I hope this offered you folks a little insight into one of the best products in this type of task. ps: I like the medium blue one which I am going to order a few for friends who are forced to pulverizing pills albeit other ideas you may have to put his to be of usefulness to you.

This pill crusher works Sooo Much Better than everything else tried. After reading a positive review written by a nurse, I decided to try it and I’m so glad. It works best to crush 1 supplement/pill at a time and repeat as needed.

Even for those with dexterity, mobility, arthritic issues, it’s easy to twist the pieces/sides back and forth.

I ordered it to crush bigger pills. On this Pill Crusher, the design is NOT sufficient to do much crushing; it IS NOT a strong unit. Pill crusher was weakened when it was made smaller & design changed to incorporate a little drink cup for taking pills.

Unit can only crush tiny- small pills, but NOT bigger tablets, as then the lid won’t fit over it – to turn it; so what good is that ! Their older larger, stronger pill crusher (one with the teeth) is very hard to find.

Also advertising is not accurate, it simply CAN NOT do the job.

I bought 3 pill crushers that did not do well with my father-in-laws vitamins, which are really hard pills. I was almost ready to fork out $80. For a commercial grade pill crusher. Thank goodness I found this one, it did the trick.

Ive used so many pill cutters (I really dont use the crusher) and I had this exact one for many years. I wanted an extra but this one was hard to find, and when I found it, it was more money than the others I had been looking at.

Well, I tried 3 cheap ones- one that looked similar to this, and 2 that were the flat kind. None of them cut my pills equally. I wasted money on the cheap ones. This was worth EVERY PENNY! Its just as great as my very old one.

Before I bought this I was using a spoon to smash with in ziplock bags but now this makes it so much easier to crush my pills. It works amazing and has a little compartment for extra storage. Love it so so so much.

Works very well and very easily. Doesn’t get as ground as a pill grinder, but still small enough that it is easier for my daughter to take her meds. And if you open and close a couple of times it makes it almost as ground as a grinder but you save yourself 5 or 10 minutes.

Great size to keep around the house or travel with. Definitely sticking with this one for multiple daily use.

I liked the price and didn’t think Walmart would stoop so low to market a dysfunctional product. With a lot of difficult work you can slowly and painfully crush a pill if you are lucky and get it directly in the center of the container.

I am very strong and can apply the intense pressure needed to turn this to try to crush a pill. Then it gets stuck and you must use a special bottle lid remover tool to get it loose and try again to crush that pill.

I am going to throw this in the trash when my new pill crusher arrives from a medical supply online. The new one is around $70. 00 but if it works in hospitals it should work easily for me. I am only writing this to you to warn you that you may be wasting your measly $4.

00 bucks. It is not a lot to waste but why not spend a bit more for one that would actually work. I am very disappointed that this dysfunctional pill crusher was the only one on the shelf at my nearby walmart.

It is not right that they sell something that does not work!.

The jagged “teeth” or grooves on the top and bottom of this nifty gadget make pill crushing EASY. Most of the pill crushers out there have a smooth surface on *both* the top and bottom of the cup-which usually does nothing more than cause a bunch of anxiety and very sore hands.

Not to mention the fact that you usually have to cut the pill into several smaller pieces if you want to *successfully* grind it into powder (the whole point, right??). This crusher was harder to find than the other ones, but I’m glad I did a little digging because it is a lifesaver.

(I even bought a back-up. ).

This is the only pill crusher that I can get to work. I don’t understand the bad reviews. I sometimes have to turn certain tablets sideways to get it started but that’s no big deal for me. If a pill is really flat like a Tylenol tablet, either cut it in half or turn the tablet sideways to get it started.

I wish Walmart would start carrying these in the store again. It’s so inconvenient to have to order them all the time and more expensive online.

Unit is decent. Only three stars as it doesn’t handle larger pills like Doctor’s Best High Absorption Magnesium, which is kind of the reason I bought it. Smaller pills however it works well. The larger pills however I need to do some prep work and break them down a bit, and struggle with getting them in the grinding wheels.

Smaller pills fall right in and it’s a few seconds before done. Larger pills are at least 30 seconds of work and several checks when I think I’m done only to find I need to move the pills around again and restart.

So far I am pleased with it, It is sure easier on my hands than what I was using. Just hope I don’t damage the porcelain grinders. Hope I I have it set right. It does a good job of making the pill into a powder.

This device grinds hard pills into powder with just a few turns of the crank. Excellent.

As far as medical equipment, its AWESOME. Many pills have been crushed in the past 2 weeks and many more to follow. Thanx for a great product.

Yes it works; but not well. For larger pills one has to shake it most times to get the pieces to fall into the grinder itself. Grinding is pretty good; mix of powder and very small pieces. But you have to remove the top to see if it has ground it all.

The bottom half of the grinder would become stuck if you added any significant force when putting the bottom back on after you emptied the bottom. The third time it happened I threw it away. Also; if older folks have hand issues the manual grinding can be difficult to use.

Better Option is a small electric coffee grinder. The pills for my dog were ground to a fine powder and I could mix it in the food. I dropped them in the top, pressed the button and in two seconds it was in a powder.

Lifted the lid, poured the powdered pills into the top and used the top to sprinkle in the food. Cost was under $25 shipped. So much easier and fully ground to a powder.

Finally a pill crusher that works! Other products you have to grind & grind for ages to get meds smooth enough to go down a feeding tube. This works with just a few turns of the handle! Well worth th price.

Crushed the medicine to a fine dust. Makes it easier for those with trouble swallowing to mix the dust with pudding or applesauce

I bought this to use for my dog’s pill. Pill pockets were not working. Hiding it in his food did not work, he’d find it almost every time and wouldn’t eat it. Finally the pill crusher! It worked. Crush the pill, mix it in his food.

I ‘LOVE’ the size of the pill crusher. It’s easier for these older hands to turn on the whole than the ones I purchased at Walmart or Walgreens. Those caused blisters between my thumb and forefinger and could not handle the really big pills like the Ultra Pill Crusher can.

Two things everyone should know though. the blue rubber tips on the top section are very thin and have worn off after less than 6 mos. (I crush a lot of pills at least 3 times a day to put medicine through my husbands stomach tube).

And, I really think the bottom should be a solid flat bottom piece of plastic, with no indentations or ridges of any kind and no legs. I have to use something in my hand to be able to hold the bottom of the crusher wthout digging into my palm (especially when crushing the big or harder pills).

If the bottom could be improved on, I would rate this with a 5-star rating, it is so easy to use. The pill box under the circle on the lid is handy too, if you use small or just a few pills.

I have this pill crusher for my mother who takes eight pills, two are large. This pill crusher is very difficult to use because it takes several attempts to crush all of the pills. The bottom of this device is hard plastic and I have to hold onto it with a kitchen towel so it doesn’t injure my hand.

The little blue rubber ‘tabs’ on the top get water in them when this device is washed. Not good. If I could afford it I would buy an electric pill crusher but thanks to my revenge-seeking sister, I can’t.

I had one of these before and it lasted for over 2 years. I wanted to buy more like it but couldn’t find it in the stores in town so I shopped on ebay and found it. I bought 4 because I have to use it every day 3 times a day.

This is the only one that has teeth that grind it up well. The other pill crushers have smooth ends and it doesn’t crush them up well. I highly recommend this brand of pill crusher. It does a fantastic job!.

I’ve had to crush my pills all of my life and I’ve tried many different crushers including electric ones. This is the best one I have used so far. It’s simple to use and simple to disassemble for cleaning.

It is built well from good materials so it should last a very long time.

MeDca Pill Grinder and Crusher is fantastic. Very easy to use; very easy on my hands! I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

It does not work with any decent sized pill. All effort is fruitless. Cut the pills up or break them by some other manner and then feed them into this product and you may, just may have a little success.

How this is on the market is beyond belief.
