Wow, I never thought I would own an 8K TV so soon! I literally just remember when 4K sets started to be introduced and I thought that its picture quality is going to be more than enough. And now I own an 8K Mini LED TV from LG (full model number is LG 65” 65QNED99UPA MiniLED 99 Series 8K Smart TV).

At first I thought I would not even notice a difference between 4K and 8K, however I must say the image crispness and the enormous resolution is so much worth considering an 8K LG TV and in a way future proof your purchase as I do not foresee 16K sets to be introduced soon.

This LG TV is considered to be LG’s flagship and top of the line set in their 2021 lineup. This TV is the first one to bring MiniLED backlight technology which allows it to have greater control over the local dimming feature.

The 65QNED99UPA features an IPS panel which allows wide viewing angles and low contrast, and the full-array local dimming helps improve the black level and gets closer to matching OLED black levels. I am not sure how many dimming zones LG has integrated in this TV, but the uniformity is pretty darn close and I did not notice any “dirty screen” effect.

I did notice a few blooming around bright objects however I have not “broken in” this TV and with some fine tuning I believe I can eliminate most of blooming. Its design and build quality is very impressive.

I like its panel, which is pretty thin and is the premium metal surrounding it stands out. If you want, it is easy to wall mount this TV and it will look gorgeous in any room. The Web OS has been refreshed and I still like its fluidity and easy to access menus.

Smart platform has all kinds of popular apps like Disney Plus, Netflix, YouTube and so much more can be found in the LG Content Store. The new remote is so nice and has dedicated buttons to access the above mentioned apps.

You can also use this remote to enable Google Assistant or Alexa and the built-in Mic will do the rest. There is NFC feature built-in the remote as well, so you can easily use your smart phone and cast its screen by simply tapping it on the remote.

Very ingenious! Overall, I am very impressed with this TV and even though there is not much of 8K content available yet, you can enjoy beautiful 4K content upscaled to 8K and with its Mini LED backlighting, you are paying for an amazing picture quality to be enjoyed on every occasion.

The LG 65inch QNED99 is a feature packed 8k television that will be as future proof as it gets. The television is heavy, and I suggest getting help to unbox it and wall mount it if you go that route.

The QNED99 comes with four full bandwidth HDMI 2. 1 at 8k 60hz but keep in mind that one of the ports is dedicated to ARC/E-ARC if you have more than three HDMI 2. 1 devices. The TV is very easy to set up with the new version of WEBOS compared to other brands you should have the TV running in less than five minutes.

The TV supports YouTube 8k APP and I suggest updating the APP and trying some 8K content it will leave you blown away and that is just the beginning of how great this TV is showing 8k content. Now there is not a lot of 8K content out there outside of YouTube APP but the QNED99 can upscale Standard Definition and High Def and 4k Content to 8k and it looks great and not washed out.

The processor in this TV can handle the upscaling and keep the picture looking great. The TV does not support VRR for gaming, but I honestly don’t believe it needs it. From my gaming I haven’t experience any sort of tearing of lagging at high frame rates with my Xbox Series X and Nvidia graphics card, but I believe it would have been a great option to have on this TV and hopefully it can be added later via a firmware update.

The TV does not support the new ATSC 3. 0 if you are on the lookout for that spec. There is only one issue I encounter with the Television and it’s when using the Netflix app and subtitles the screen would tend to dim and bloom around subtitles but for me this is not a deal breaker because of the way the TV handles upscaling other content and gaming which doesn’t show the same issues.

I believe the diming and blooming could be related to the Netflix app and LG has been constantly updating the TV. In all I would recommend this television to my friends and family that are looking for the set of features this TV offers.

LG has always come up with good quality electronics and I’ve heard of only good feedback from those who own stuff from them. This is my first LG TV and I literally could not stop talking about it to my family and friends.

Material-wise, it is made of very good and sturdy quality. Setting it up wasn’t too challenging either, it came with instructions beginning from how to open the box (for ease of unboxing) to setting up the different features the TV comes with.

It took me and my mom to put it on our console after propping it on the cardboard box it came to install the stand. I appreciate this because I was hesitant at first because this task is normally assigned to my hubby but he was away and k was too excited.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets irked by the sight of too many wires. I love that this TV comes with wire organizers. As I was setting it up I just kept on exclaiming wow and the moment I turned it on I was even more amazed.

The Magic Remote is very apply named because it is in fact, a magic wand! It makes controlling so easy and I love that it also has a built in mic for our fave virtual assistant. The picture is so crisp and the colors are dynamic.

The Game Optimizer was a familiar sight to see, as my LG PC monitor has it too. The AI Picture and Sound settings are definitely something to behold to as it adapts to the environment your TV is in. I would totally recommend this wonderful TV and I assure you whatever TV you have now, this LG MiniLED one is a definite upgrade.

This is LG’s flagship G2 77” OLED evo Gallery Edition TV and its simply gorgeous. Despite the premium price tag the G2 only comes with a wall mount and the LG G2 TV stand is not yet released in the UK to order, we had to use a universal TV stand for now to suit the setup in our conservatory until the LG TV stand is available.

That aside LG designed the G2 with an eye catching premium finish which looks gorgeous however you display it. Once up and ruining you can see immediately how intuitive LG’s new version of the webOS is to navigate and frankly it really impresses.

Navigating the Freeview TV channels as well as the built in Apps is the most user-friendly menu system that I’ve seen on any TV. It is very fast and intuitive with an ergonomically designed LG smart remote / pointer / roller to navigate and Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Rokuten TV as well Alexa dedicated buttons for instantly switching between apps.

I really like that Alexa is built in and works really well with LG’s fastest A9 Gen5 AI processor 4K, Dolby Vision IQ, Filmmaker Mode, Dolby Atmos along with gaming features such as Nvidia G-SYNC and FreeSync Premium only further enriches the viewing experience.

The G2 boosts an upgraded OLED evo panel, with the all-new Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor and much improved heat dissipation than last year’s G1 model. The panel is in fact extremely bright with deep blacks and rich vibrant colours when watching any TV channel, movie or show, so much so it that I find watching TV much more engaging and enjoyable seeing detail the likes of which I’ve never experienced before.

It’s worth mentioning that the smart picture options on the TV automatically select the best picture mode for you as it accurately determines what type of content you are watching and adjusts the image to suit movies, TV series and gaming etc.

Nice! As for the sound quality the G2 built in down firing speakers are surprisingly good and noticeably better than the C2 model for example though we use our home theatre system when watching movies etc for full 7.

I upgraded from a 65″ LED TV from a different make. Wow, what a difference. Starting with the externals, the TV itself is very thin and once mounted on the wall using the included wall mount it sits very close to the wall for a fantastic look.

Setup is straightforward. For me I plugged in the three HDMI devices I use and turned it on. The TV guides you through the setup process and this is all very straightforward. At this stage you’ll notice the remote which is different to other TV remotes I have in that it supports a point and click type operation where you move the remote and the pointer moves allowing you to select things (think a certain games console with a plumber as a mascot).

This is an interesting approach and works well. Once setup I mainly use Google TV rather than the built-in WebOS interface, but this is primarily because my family (including two young children) are used to the very simple remote.

If it was just me I would be more than happy using the built-in interface. I also have a PS5 connected and the TV supports all the cool features you’d expect like 4K, HDR, VRR. Gaming looks absolutely fantastic.

So far I have mainly tried Horizon: Forbidden west and it is mind bogglingly beautiful on this TV. Regardless of the source I use a Denon receiver for audio. This is sent from the TV to the receiver using eARC and this has worked very well.

HDMI CEC which tends to be problematic with most devices has also worked flawlessly. This is where you can use the remote of a connected device (in my case Google TV or PS5) to turn on/off the TV and also to select the correct input.

This is fantastic as it means a single remote for my family members to watch TV whilst still using surround sound. There is some glare during bright days when the sun hits the TV, but this is to be expected with any TV, and especially so with OLED.

OLED is often criticised for not being bright enough but I can’t say I’ve had that problem. It would be nice if LG started having connection boxes where there is a single cable to the TV which goes down to a box with all the other connectors.

Some other brands have this and it would be great with this TV since it sits so very close to the wall. There is, of course, the issue of price. This is a very high end TV and is priced accordingly. Having said that, if you have the money to spare and you’re int he market for a high end TV you definitely won’t go wrong with this one.

I purchased this TV from a retailer in November of 2021. I was very happy with the TV for most of its use, until roughly 9 months in. Suddenly, the TV started having power issues, where it would randomly turn itself off mid-use, then wind up in a rebooting loop, sometimes for several minutes before I was able to trigger it into working, though sometimes it would go back into the rebooting cycle a few minutes later.

LG customer service tried walking me through the problem, but unable to get anywhere they sent a technician out to diagnose the issue, which turned out to be a corrupted/defective motherboard. The part was ordered & replaced quickly by LG.

As of yesterday (29 Aug 2022), when the part was replaced, the TV worked like new, although that meant I had to reenter all my profile & app information (time consuming, but not a problem). Since yesterday, the TV has worked great.

I would definitely give 5 stars to LG customer service, in my recent experience, they were very helpful. The TV itself would have gotten 5 stars had this issue never come up. I’m not a tech person so I don’t know what LG’s product certification process is like, but I feel like they could potentially give a little more quality control & testing on their parts before assembly, shipping & distribution for sale.

When this problem started & I started looking up what the issue could be, I found on several internet forums that a number of LG TV users had experienced similar issues, so I don’t think this was a one off defective part exclusive to my TV.

I am unable to really comment on the built in speakers as I connect optical to a sound receiver for surround speakers. In the handful of times I’ve used the built ins, I was surprised at them being better than I thought, not super tinny sounding, but can’t compare to ‘real’ speakers & a sound system.

I WOULD recommend to anyone they consider purchasing this TV (LG 55UP7670PUC). It IS a great TV, easy to use, simple to set up. However, I would add the caveat to any potential buyer the possibility of the TV having a defective motherboard like mine apparently did.

It worked great for a few months before it started acting strange. Something a buyer should consider is if they are willing to go through the hassle. Again, I WOULD recommend this TV to people, but with my experience fresh in my mind, I would encourage any buyers to consider this possibility may affect them too.

First LED TV received as a gift. The picture is great after taking a couple of weeks to adjust the picture close to my liking. It shows amazing detail, right down to the pores on people’s faces. The website suggested starting points for adjusting it that were close to perfect for me (contrast is still off after many tweeks so sometimes the screen is still too dark.

I also had to lower the color level to get realistic rather than the overly VIVID reds and greens). As someone without cable I’ve found the selection of LG channels a bit overwhelming. One downside is the remote.

The buttons are small and could be better grouped. I’ve often accidently exited the screen or setting I’m trying to set by accidently hitting an adjacent button. As I become more familiar with it this will probably happen less often.

I had hoped to find the same apps I use on my iPad but not all of them are available but there are others that are new to me.

Purchased the television due to an unbelievable member price. A too good not to pass up deal on televisions. While O know it’s the end of the year for tv’s and they’re making room for new inventory I am super happy with the picture, price and quality.

I am becoming a huge fan of LG products as we own a 13 yr old fridge and television. Since then we have purchased a washer, dryer and dishwasher. They all link via LGThinq app. With the addition of this tv I can monitor all three of those appliances as well as my wireless timer wall outlets.

The 21st century technology is pure witchcraft these days. Love the video game optimization on it. Just wished it had more hdmi connections but that is something you’ll get with a slightly more expensive model.

I would definitely recommend this tv to friends and family.

Good value. This TV is super cool with a lot of features, and the picture is pretty stellar for the price. If you want a streamlined experience and you’re primarily a streaming service user (not cable), however, this TV is about as clunky as an Android phone with a ton of useless software.

I’d love to be able to customize the apps and sections on the home screen way more than the TV currently allows me to do. While I was able to turn off and remove a handful of things I know I’ll never need, it was frustrating to find that I can’t completely remove certain sections from the homepage, like the sports section.

I also couldn’t remove a handful of apps that I don’t use. It would be helpful to be able to remove these so I can streamline my home screen and navigation experience instead of having to scroll through so many things I don’t even have a subscription to use.

It was extremely frustrating to find that the default settings for the home screen include ads – yes, ads – that play at full volume automatically while you’re on your home screen. It took forever to figure out how to turn those off, and the whole time I was trying to figure that out, that was really souring my experience.

Coming from never having a smart TV like this before, learning how to use this TV made me feel like someone who had never used technology before. The introductory training won first learning to navigate the TV settings and remote could have been much better.

Some things take longer to load than I would like. Well that’s not a big deal, it’s the little things like this that shouldn’t be noticeable on a high quality TV, and on this TV it’s quite noticeable.

I really like that the remote operates kind of like a wiimote, with a cursor you can move around on the screen by moving the remote. This makes navigating menus, selecting things, and using the keyboard somewhat easier, but it feels a bit cheap in operation and can be clunky from time to time or when trying to select very small buttons on the screen.

I’ve had consistent issues with using the voice feature to tell the TV to open something or perform another function, and even with troubleshooting, the issues persist. However, it’s usually faster for me to just scroll to and select what I’d like to watch instead of speak to my remote, wait for the TV to figure out what I said, and finally do what I want it to do.

Finally, I use an external soundbar with this TV and my experience has been pretty good. It was not clear initially when I hooked up the soundbar that I could teach the TV to recognize the soundbar and therefore control the volume with the TV remote, so that was exciting to find out but that should have been more obvious within the sound settings then it was when I first switched over to using the soundbar.

However, overall, I’m happy with how the TV works with the external soundbar. The soundbar is the same LG brand.

Disappointed in LG. I purchased a few of these TVs with the hopes of being able to stream a lot on the smart apps. There is no ESPN+ available or individual sports apps (MLB, NHL, NFL) so streaming sports is impossible without adding something like a firestick.

Other issue I had is that when setting up each remote for each TV one of the TVs responds to every remote (you can code the remote to each tv supposedly). The other 4 coded fine but the 5th one just wants to do whatever the other TVs are doing.

I guess this won’t be an issue when I install 5 firesticks but there goes another $40 per TV. Picture quality is good but setup was kinda tedious as well. I expected better as I have purchased close to 20 LGs for my restaurants over the years.

They do tend to last long and have a great picture for the price, but the “smart” features are very lacking in my opinion. If you just want a nice TV to watch things like Hulu on then this will work well.

If you love sports, keep looking or just grab a streaming device right away.

We are aware that the 55UQ9000PSD is not a top of the range item. We don’t need this anyway. We are no tech-nerds and just keep up with what’s required to run the show. We usually feed our PVR in a HDMI input and play the sound direct over a Yamaha AV receiver.

That works just fine and the picture quality is excellent by our standards. Do we need blacker than black (OLED) etc? No! As soon as we use the actual smart TV there are a few shortcomings. The processor is a bit slow.

Webpages take a long time to load. Why do we have to log in to install a new app? The offered streaming apps are great and good to have, but we need the TV catchup streaming apps as well. The mouse pointer disappears within seconds just when we need it.

Scrolling through the screen can be quite a challenge. The optical sound output has of course no direct volume control. Took us a while to make the remote control handle the volume on the Yamaha, but we managed in the end.

Good feature to have and not taken for granted. Why no built in Chrome Cast? We could run just about everything from our phones! The handling of the user interface and WebOS is manageable but working the screen is a bit clumsy, especially when the air-mouse pointer times out all the time and has to be re-activated.

Have yet to find a menu to hopefully set a longer time-out. The actual setup menu is well structured and we have no complaints about that! The TV as such is great for us. The smart part is workable but we had worse before and for elderly users like us a bit over engineered.

Many of the features we don’t need (no games or sport). The bloated user interface slows things down.

First of all, I would like to say that the Insiders did a great job updating us on delivery and having tracking available for something as expensive as this. Initially I had planned to pay a professional to fit the TV because I had never wall mounted a TV before.

However, I decided against that because luckily my dad is a construction supervisor so already had all the necessary tools to do the job. It turned out to be easy, only took us roughly an hour to wall mount the TV and most of that time was actually spent looking at the instructions inside the box! The TV is thin at only 2cm wide! The remote is very comfortable and quite light, but the best thing about it is the motion controlled pointer with gyroscope.

This allows for much quicker navigation of the menus than most TVs, including typing text on apps such as Youtube which we use frequently. The TV turns on instantly, timed it at roughly 3 seconds. The picture is amazing, especially when watching 4k content, however surprisingly even standard definition content looks a lot better than my old TV as the colours are much more vibrant.

The TV has great viewing angles so even when looking at it from the corner of the room the image will still look exactly the same as looking at the TV head on. What I would say is because the TV is near a window I have had to increase the brightness in the settings for daytime viewing but this TV does get very bright if you need it to, I only had to slightly increase the brightness to get a clear picture – up to 65 (originally at 50).

With blinds/curtains closed and in particular with the lights off is when the TV looks amazing and the colours pop even more. Be sure to remove the protective film that is installed on the TV once you have wall mounted it as it unnecessarily makes the picture blurrier.

The TV comes with 4 HDMI 2. 1 ports with all the latest tech built in such as HDR and VRR. This TV is future proof for at least the next 6 years, especially for video gaming. The input lag is super low on this TV which is great for gaming and for something like Xbox Series X as it has all the necessary features to take full advantage of the system.

In fact I would say the Xbox is lagging behind as very few games currently run at 4k and 120fps with HDR10 or Dolby Vision, an example of why this TV is definitely future proofed. There is a great game optimizer option which allows for all sorts of settings to make your games run to their full potential.

Coming from an older Plasma (a GT60, which was still going strong. , ish), I was expecting quite a wow factor & I really was not disappointed. I’d been following the progress of OLEDs for a while & even though I wasn’t tempted by a QLED, I had compared the pros & cons of each, with the only definable advantage of the LEDs being how bright they can get.

Now, upon initial viewing of the G1, I honestly don’t understand how people can say OLEDs aren’t bright. I was VERY surprised with how bright the screen can get. The missus has said on numeous occasions that it’s too bright at times (I have altered the settings with the help of Vincent, of HDTV Test fame), so it’s not the Vivid setting burning her retinas out.

I guess in part coming from an older plasma set, it was just too much for her to handle :’) The magic remote is a nice upgrade over the old remote, as having a pointer is a very welcome bonus & is just a really good QOL improvement.

As I didn’t want to wall mount it, setting it up on the feet I bought for it was simple, though lifting it from the packaging & placing it somewhere flat is definitely a two person job. Getting through the initial setup & into the meat of it was easy enough & I had “expert” settings ready to go to give me the best picture.

& what a picture it is. For movies the blacks are nice & inky. The colours are rich & pop out at you & with this being the Evo panel, HDR content really shines. The sound is rich & clear & is certainly a stepup from my old plasma.

The only downside I’ve found so far, is when I recently visited the cinema & as you do, I couldn’t help but compare the big screen to my little 55″ at home & the G1 trounced my local cinema screen. This isn’t something I’d noticed with my old TV, but having used the G1 for a while now, the graininess was more prevalent & it didn’t look anywhere near as rich – victory for home entertainment! Speaking of home entertainment & as with most smart TVs nowadays, the G1 is compatible with the latest apps & has specific buttons for Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime & Rakuten built into the remote.

For gaming the G1 really comes alive & is the main reason why I wanted the G1 over any other set. As this was my 1st foray into HDR, the PS5 is improved no end & now my games look so much more vibrant.

Response time is up there with the quickest on the market too & the G1 just has me covered going forward & makes me just that much more excited about the future of gaming.

Bought this tv from BB in-store during the Nov 2021 sales and have been using it for a few months already. Overall, it’s a very good tv, with a few disappointments that don’t seem to get much coverage since people like Tincent Teoh and the other prominent reviewers mostly focus on the tv’s picture quality.

The things I want to rant about are the awful webOS interface and the really weak SoC (processor) that is running the “smart” functionality. First, there’s a lot of ads during the normal usage of the tv.

When powering on, every few days I get a barrage of popup ads for things like “Free Apple+ trial. “, “Download our new Tiktok app. “, “Try Disney+. ” in a grey bubble overlaying whatever else is on-screen.

Then there’s the home screen, which takes up the full screen and then some since you have to scroll down to get to the inputs. The top ~1/3rd is a weather widget, some LG-specific widget that wants you to make an LG account and login, and then a search bar.

The middle 1/3rd of the screen is a “Trending now” aggregate of basically-ads for shows/movies on various platforms, then there’s a thinner row of Apps and below that you can see the top edge of the list of display inputs.

If you view a video/photos of what this all looked like on the CX and earlier models, it was a thin bar at the bottom of the screen that occupied ~20% of the screen height that gave you access to everything you might want without all the extra garbage we’re saddled with now.

In the individual apps, there’s also a lot of focus on “Trending Now” and “Recommended” content, and to just get to being able to resume a show you’re already watching, you have to scroll thru in some cases several screenfuls of these ads.

Definitely doesn’t feel like a premium TV- this might be expected in an low-cost model that’s partially subsidized with these ads, but not one that’s 2nd most expensive our of probably a dozen model lines from this mfg.

The second big issue I have with this tv is that while the webOS interface and apps all look very flashy, they really push the SoC to it’s limits and don’t run all that well on day 1, which makes me worry about how they will run in 5 or even 10 yrs.

Scrolling around in the apps and menus, there’s a lot of pizazz with video previews of highlighted items in apps, and they run just ok while the tv is new. Scroll more than a few lines at a time and there’s noticeable framedrops and stuttering, item pop-in delays, etc.

In short, this thing runs it’s OS with the same apparent processing power as a $35 Amazon Firestick 4k- which is equivalent to a lower-mid range phone from ~2015 (quadcore A53, maybe 1GB RAM). Same thing with the ethernet connection: 100Mb only, which could bottleneck 4k blu-ray quality streams over the network.

Bringing the SoC up to date to today’s mid-range and upgrading to the >20yr old gigabit ethernet standard would have increased the bill of materials by maybe $10-15, and for a tv with an MSRP of $2800-3000, this should have been done! I only use the Netflix, Amazon and Media Player apps, and this tv doesn’t seem to have enough RAM to keep just these 3 apps ready-to-go: starting Netflix there’s often a 10-20s loading time.

It’s entirely possible that just like many weaker Android devices, this tv won’t even be able to reliably run these apps in a few years, with random crashing occurring because the device is too weak/not enough RAM to keep up with the gradual increase in bloat in apps over time.

Overall, it is a good tv, but LG is really coasting on its superior OLED display and has been making a lot of regressions in other areas affecting user experience. WebOS is a lot worse today than it looked on the CX and earlier models, we no longer have DTS audio support or even passthrough, and the SoC probably has been recycled for a few years without an update/spec bump to keep up with the added workload being assigned to it.

Bought this TV to use as a monitor replacement… and it didn’t work out as expected: to be honest unless you can drive a 4K 48” display to 120hz, it doesn’t work as a monitor; what’s more even when you do have the hardware to drive it, movies and even games at 60hz and below are hard to view that close at such a low pixel density(same pixel density of a 24” 1080p screen).

I changed my entire setup to work with it, put it slightly raised about 5 feet away, and increased the scaling a bit on my computer still at 120hz; Best Decision I’ve ever made. Gaming is pretty good on this thing: I’m not new to hyper frame rate gaming, and if you haven’t experienced anything over 60hz, this thing will seem pretty incredible.

Even the PS5 running spiderman with 120hz auto enabled(strikes and responses are noticably faster, even if the system can’t fully take advantage of creating a full 120fps). Movies and Sports motion are good: personally, I prefer my Sony in my living room for better color and below 60hz motion response, but this thing is no slouch… Sound: usually I’m the first to complain about sound, but the AI actually does a great job at compensating for the close distance.

I’m amazed at times by what it can do, and this is coming from a planar loving audiophile. I’m not sure how it would do in a large room, and it’s possible the base helps deliver bass with the downfiring speakers; which means they might not sound quite as full wall mounted.

:::Extra comment::: I’d mention the g-sync issues, but these are well known with most n-vidia devices, when bouncing between different inputs the devices can incorrectly sync themselves for audio, which causes a weird clipping sound, restarting the connected device re-syncs the devices and fixes the issue, not a big deal… but it does suck when you want to do something, the audio keeps clipping, and it takes 30 secs for the device to restart.

WebOS is junk, somehow programmers have worked to keep modern apps on the platform, but that’s about it. Remote is amazing, but because of TV’s slow or at times just bad at CEC connectivity; it won’t be good for much beyond WebOS.

In other words, get a streaming box if you can, don’t punish yourself, unless you plan on using just basic app the entire TV’s lifespan(Netflix, Amazon, etc. ). Overall… its a good TV, it does have a tiny fan that kicks on from time to time; I’ve debated taking the back off and finding another method of cooling; but obviously this isn’t recommended for anyone to attempt.

Future Proofed… This thing has a lot going for it: WOLED has shown to have better overall blacks then QOLED (quatumly adjusting blue light to other spectrums causes light bleed from the background glow below the filter level of the sub-pixels), So from a purist point of view, WOLED might still be a better tech, even though QOLED produces insane colors and strangely clean brightness levels; due to the light still having blue spectrum speed, with the other color’s actual color.

FreeSync and all the HDMI 2. 1 controller additions will keep this a major player for atleast the next half decade… It is hard to say what will come next… if they can fix the bleeding issues, QOLED might still be the future, laser projection is growing in popularity day-by-day(some expect cheap high performing 4K laser projectors to be the next big thing in 5-6 years; large inflexible screens are hard to manufacture, ship, inventory, sell, and move; reduce cost enough and a small box that is easy to buy on whim, becomes attractive to consumers).

I am a gamer who has been playing on old 1080p screens for years. After literal years of research and saving I finally was ready to buy my first tv and as someone who mainly plays on my PS4 currently I was leaning more towards buying a 4K Sony tv.

I spoke with a friend about this plan and he urged me to shoot for an OLED instead. I was hesitant due to how bright I believed the OLED screen was and their higher price tag which is why I had been steering towards a more basic 4K model, but after more research I learned LCD screens actually generate more Lumens than OLED screens do and this model went on sale! He recommended this tv as opposed to one of Sony’s OLEDS because it is by and far more bang for your buck when you’re comparing OLEDS and he wasn’t wrong! My friend bought a 55″ for his bedroom and said it’s terrific but wouldn’t want to go bigger while I went for the 48″ and find myself saying the same thing lol.

Even though i’m playing on a base PS4 this tv makes my games look next-gen. The graphics are detailed and smooth thanks to the HDR and 120hz refresh rate of the tv, and tv shows, streams and movies look twice as good as they did on my old 1080p as well.

It took me a few hours following a youtube video and my friends advice to setup the display settings for each viewing mode but after I was done I was blown away with the picture quality and freedom to alter the graphics and make presets the tv will auto switch to dependant on the content I’m viewing.

Coming right out of the box the default settings were quite horrid with the brightness and sharpness set to max but once you lower the sharpness and adjust the brightness and white balancing to your liking you’ll love what you see, just youtube a display setup guide you’ll be golden! The tv definitely required two people to setup even while being the smallest model, it is a bit on the heavy and bulky side but nothing compared to the tube tvs I grew up with.

The speakers are not notable but I don’t really care since I live in an apartment with thin walls and usually watch tv with a gaming headset on anyway. I’m finding the remote to be really quite enjoyable despite the fact it has no backlight, and when I am tired of using it I can simply connect to the tv with my smart phone and use my phone as a second tv remote.

The screen mirroring and Android features are fantastic too I can finally easily watch anime that isn’t on Vrv or Crunchyroll or play Angry Birds on a 48″ screen. For the price and the quality you really can’t find a better deal! Buy one before they’re all gone!!! The C2 is having a lot of reported issues seems like LG has outdone themselves with the C1.

EXCEPTIONAL 4K OLED TV the sound and display quality of the LG CX to me are immense, family compare the AI sound pro to that of a sound bar (there opinion) and say its great! I had done alot of research and went with the CX.

4x HDMI ports @4K120fps + Freesync Premium for the up coming new consoles. Comes with a Magic Remote which is basically a wireless mouse for TV. The web OS software built into the CX is broad and includes all the popular apps, super fast and responsive OS compared to friends and familys 4K TV’s.

My first purchase for a 4K TV is this one and i have no regrets, ive seen many 4K TVS in action and this one just stood out above the rest. Do some research on how to take care of your OLED before purchasing, OLED tvs are susceptible to something called “banding” which can appear either vertically or horizontally and look like lines that can be seen during certain movies, you will see a shadow like line or lines appear during movies or gaming scenes, believe me you cannot miss it.

Should you encounter this problem with the LG CX here’s abit of info: “banding” is a manufacturing fault, a panel defect. Should you be in warranty going through a claim and the manufacturer states: “banding” is within “spec” of your LG CX.

Tell them, which is your consumer right to request the LG CX TV specs in writing so that you can have an independent assessment done. They are not “spec” at all and by consumer law this would not be fit for its purpose making you eligible for a refund or replacement.

I personally would not be happy experiencing this issue and for the price would not accept it either. This doesnt get 5 stars simply due to care required for a TV and potential risk that comes with this technology.

I would also recommend getting an extended warranty for this TV. UPDATE. A few months after I wrote this review i experienced heavy banding, under warranty i received a brand new CX which i have now had for almost a year with no troubles.

LG customer service were really supportive and helpful as they understand this can happen with new technology and gave me peace of mind throughout the process and returned me a new CX as fast as they could.

I cannot speak for others however i do know that many people have had good experience with LG customer service regarding the CX.

It almost been a year since I had this tv. Bought it brand new. The picture quality is fantastic but I noticed it’s operations where difficult to use. Firstly you have to have cable otherwise when you turn it on it’s completely VERY loud static.

If you don’t you would have to research to find a feature in the settings to put a screen saver as a starting point. For a brand new tv in this day in age, I find it dumb to ever start that way, you know everyone streams everything.

Secondly, it’s not customizable at all. There really isn’t a point to have settings. It has programed setting that is one or another and the differences are very little or complete opposite (ex. Dark or bright; hd dark or hd bright) I wish you were able to choose an option and adjust the brightness like all other tvs.

I mean even tvs 90’s had those features. Then I started to have real problems. Because it is a smart tv it wants to do things for you but in my tvs case it thinks I should switch to hdmi when nothing is plugged in.

I could be watching a show on Netflix and then the screen pauses and goes to hdmi 1 with the screen saver on because nothing is connected to it. and if you don’t have the screen saver it would be the VERY loud static (it scared me, my girlfriend and her cats half to death, poor critters sprinted into the next room hiding under the bed).

I spoke with lg a few times about this issue. I had technician come out and install a brand new motherboard, problem wasn’t fixed. He came out a second time and the problem wasn’t fixed. I called them again, frustrated, and they said they would have to order the motherboard again, but it’s on back order and they don’t know when it is coming.

So I asked for my refund and they said they need 3 visits from a technician to before they believe me that there is something wrong with the tv. I sent them videos of it happening and nothing, waiting for a part that is on back order that has already been replaced.

I also had to have the entire panel(screen) replaced because there was a line through it.

Living in a small studio flat and using my TV as both computer monitor and TV I needed a sub 50″ screen size and the best quality image possible. Also essential to me were 4 HDMI inputs and optical sound output to my high end audio system.

Quality and not price was my main criteria as I spend hours each day working on my computer and in the evening relaxing and watching the TV or a movie. My eyes are more valuable to me than saving a few hundred pounds on the cost of a TV set! I seriously considered the Samsung Frame, Sony Bravia and Philips Ambilight 43″ models but none of these sport the OLED technology which in my opinion renders them inherently inferior.

Fortunately this LG OLED48CX5LC obviously does and by packing the same number of individually lit pixels into a smaller screen size at the same 3840×2160 resolution means the definition at my viewing distance is substantially better than their 55″ version whilst the feature set is otherwise identical.

Whether making the price of their 48″ several hundred pounds more than the 55″ version can be justified on this basis I somewhat doubt. I suspect it has more to do with the fact that they have you over a barrel if you want a “smaller” TV with an OLED screen.

But as in all things you get what you pay for and quality costs! Having had the TV for just under a week now I am unable to comment on reliability as only time will tell, but what I can say is that I am delighted with the image quality achieved from all input sources.

It is easy to see why What Hi-Fi and others have awarded such glowing reviews to this TV. The most obvious immediate thing is the fact that, courtesy of that OLED technology, at last black is truly inky black and white is pure white.

This may sound a bit daft but having now seen for myself the difference this makes to the whole rendition and perceived colour pallet, I could never go back to a non OLED screen unless absolutely forced to do so.

Also, unlike my previous TV which was an (at the time) high end back lit LED Samsung, this TV was basically picture perfect out of the box with no need to fiddle with numerous screen settings in order to achieve an optimum display.

It was a pleasant surprise to discover that NVidia’s G-Sync is supported which will make occasional game playing on my computer all the more enjoyable. Although I am surprised, and rather disappointed, that LG don’t currently (9/4/21) offer Windows 10 drivers for download from their support site and with the GeForce 1050Ti graphics card in my computer I am currently obliged to run at a 60Hz refresh rate to avoid annoying screen flicker.

Hopefully LG will address this anomaly in the near future. It was also rather irritating to be confronted with several different “manufacturer’s warranty registration” phone numbers, one stuck on the screen protection film and others on the numerous bits of paper encouraging me to register my product.

These lead not to LG but a third party well known “insurance” company who delight in ripping off the innocent by extracting monthly premiums. Not necessary thanks due to Richers excellent 6 year warranty! Equally galling to be told that the “Guarantee Confirmation Code” you are instructed to make a note of on your LG paperwork is apparently “no longer issued and redundant”.

Obviously LG were unaware of this when my TV was manufactured and put in its box three months ago! Finally trying to login at “registermylg. com” has thus far proven a completely fruitless exercise as the link to login following registration of your new account does not work.

Failure to attend to details like these are irritating but sadly not uncommon nowadays. Those things aside, what really matters is that when it comes to the actual product the LG OLED technology is an absolute winner and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this TV.

Despite the premium price it is a genuinely premium product and worth every penny!.

Nice picture, nice price, horrible platform. Webos platform is trash, i dont care what the techies say. Its counterintuitive and is slow to load anything because its always trying to load and run ai functions that i dont care about.

Remote is very difficult to memorize and dofficult to navigate in low light situations because theres too many useless buttons so they’re too close to easily find that focal point (your thumbs home button if you will) that you work off of.

Home screen is 2/3 useless banter like “what’s trending” and other pointless data so the part you bought the tv for, the apps to stream shows on, are small and insignificant in comparison. Search function is annoying as its always trying to give you suggestions before you’ve typed a letter in.

more unneeded ai software. And when it does bring up the content you searched for, its again too small to even make out what app its available on. And I’m looking at a 65″ from about 10′ away. And it doesnt clearly tell you where its free or if its pay, so may select “Prime Video” only to load the app and find out its only available for rent.

Try to use back button from there to get back to your search. NOPE! After 6 button presses you will end up back at home base and have to restart your searching adventure. Do yourself a favor and buy a Roku tv.

I’ve purchased Roku, Android and now this trash OS tvs and I can tell you without hesitation Roku is by far the simplest and most user friendly platform. The only praise i have for this tv so far is that the volume control really moves quickly.

The rest of the tvs function are on parbwith competitors but the operating system sucks.

I have a Firestick, also have a Roku stick, and I use DirecTV. With the built-in Firestick and Roku I can free up 2 HDMI ports I using on my older 4 HDMI port TV. The DirecTV uses the HDMI 2 port and I have now used the 1st HDMI port for Chromecast.

The remote’s buttons are a bit small and too tightly packed for my liking. I was able to find an exact second backup remote on Amazon for not much money. The HOME button takes me to the main selection page where the fav apps are displayed along with the various INPUTs and frequently watched stations.

I have read there is a “MAGIC remote” that is easier to use, but I have not found that it will work with my model. I only wish that the remote supplied had a microphone option. My Firestick has that option, but not the remote that comes with this set.

For me there is a dizzying array of things to watch, both FREE and PAID services. I find the the LG channel lineup gives me a selection of things to watch that I would not necessarily find on my own.

Some are FREE, others must be paid for. This LG guide to channels gives hundreds of channels overview of what is available on HI-SPEED internet connections. Some of these channels require a subscription while others do not.

I upgraded from a 49 inch to this 55 inch which is the largest size my cabinet can accommodate. I am glad I got the extra 6 inches. the legs are secure and steady for a set of this size.

All the hype about the OLED models having the best blacks in the industry is absolutely true. The picture quality is simply stunning. It is SOOOO much better than the overly-bright and unnatural Vegas Billboard-like displays found on competitor models.

A few minor issues: LG lags its competition in app availability. Think HBO Max, for example. How is that not available? Think MLB (Major League Baseball) for another. To my mind, the TV is now just another portal to the internet for streaming, so LG, get with it and offer what people really want by way of popular apps! 90% of the apps you can access on an LG are probably something you could care less about.

How many sites offering images of a burning fireplace does someone need? Another issue: this set offers scrolling images of classic paintings, seasonal scenes, etc. which are quite nice, however the viewer cannot adjust the scroll.

The pictures appear and fade away at a pre-set speed (much too quickly). Me, I might want to enjoy a picture for more than just 15 seconds, like maybe an hour, or maybe all day. Such control is offered on competitor models, and it should not be hard for LG to figure out how to do it.

Finally, I bought this particular LG model because of it offered integrated 60 watt speakers. The sound is good for television, and it can get loud when playing your latest playlist, but it does distort at higher volumes, and at any level the quality is mushy if you listen for that kind of thing.

It is not for audiophiles, but that really isn’t a surprise, as most people buying televisions already expect integrated speakers to be the weakest aspect of the experience. Bottom Line: The picture is why you buy, which is why I bought once price came down to earth.

This is our third LG TV. We enjoy the simplified, smaller, sleek remote. Picture is great. I’m not a fan of the AI ‘pointer’ and voice activation etc. , but that is just because I am old school and new-technology averse.

My only complaint would be with the design of the base of the television. Our previous models were on a swivel, and there was an open gap between the bottom of the tv and the base. That meant, one way or the other, I could easily clean behind the tv.

This set does not swivel, and there is no gap between the bottom of the tv and the base. This is a definite disadvantage, because I cannot get to the back of the tv without pulling it out of the entertainment center, which can be a dangerous proposition.

More importantly, we can’t access the accessory cable jacks for the same reason. We encourage you to return to previous designs that include a swivel base, or at least a base with an open space below the tv so access to the back of the tv is possible.

I’m sorry I didn’t give the 5⭐️ For the perfectly Engineered Art piece with a serious touch of technology. Due to it remote controller. Im sure there is a better magic remote coming to replace this one.

Many friends/Familly agreed on the functionality and the simplicity of it. But not to a perfection of a piece. Buy OLED65E8PUA 4KHDR OLED GLASS TV W/ AI THINQ – 65 CLASS (64. 5 DIAG)… and let your self dive discovering most amazing visuals, colors like never seeing before and that is never ending.

Our last TV (also an LG) had the image fade out after many years of use, so we recently purchased this one. We opted to acquire another one from LG because we were happy with our last one. This model includes various projection possibilities, but we don’t see much of a difference between many of them, while some may.

For games, I use the game setting, and it looks fantastic. It has a fantastic sound. I was thinking about getting a soundbar for the previous TV, but now I’m more certain I’ll get one because the sound quality on this model is so fantastic.

The instructions for setting up the television set should be updated.

This TV has been everything i could have hoped for. I bought this TV 3rd party off of OfferUp. I did a lot of research and i needed a tv that could handle 4K gaming and streaming. I have to say i am always impressed with LG and the price point they fall under.

This TV has been nothing short of amazing and i would highly recommend all LG TVs. I have noticed a lot of issues other people seem to be having with connectivity, i have to say i havent had a single issue.

Stream all apps seamlessly. GREAT PICTURE, ALMOST BEZELLESS, LOVE MAGIC REMOTE.

I suspect that well-documented design flaw with the wifi also screws up other things. I have several persistent glitches, including wifi reception, wired connection drops, dropped and laggy reception of the remote control signal, app errors, image loss, unexpected shut offs, sound unsyncing on all sources including wired cable.

I’ve never had a such a buggy piece of. technology. And it’s all due to design flaws and bad construction. Online there’s handy support advice like “pull it off the wall, remove the back panel, & fiddle with wires.

” Seriously. Once a day, I find myself saying “I hate this tv”. After 3+ years, I’m determined to never buy ANYTHING from LG ever again. If I could afford to replace it, I’d have done so years ago. Do yourself a favor and buy any other brand.

I had this TV less than a year. When we moved I had to reconnect the coax connector for the antenna. Unfortunately like most badly designed TVs, The coax connector is so deeply embedded in the back that you can’t get your fingers around it easily to install the cable.

Because of this I had to leave the TV down. I did lay it down carefully however apparently not carefully enough and cracked the screen. It is such a cheap and garbage screen to crack so easily! I have taken it to a repair shop where they are saying it will cost $400 to repair the screen.

The TV cost $500. I would rather buy a competitors TV and spend more money than to put any money into such a piece of garbage. Mind you, I sold TVs for years and I know what good ones are, LG and Samsung are basically the same thing using cheap materials to make their products.

I would rather buy an even cheaper model so when it breaks I could just throw it out and spend hundreds of dollars on a TV that will only last the same amount of time. My personal experience is that Panasonic and Sony make much better TVs.

Our firm purchased this TV as a medium to deliver presentations to clients and share a common screen when having internal business meetings. So far, it has worked out beautifully for that purpose. Generally we will use a laptop as our main control panel and connect to the LG TV via a wireless connection, which allows us to use it nor only as a large monitor display, but in the event we play videos, it will also play the audio through the television instead of the computer.

There have been times when the connection will not work, in which case we have used an HDMI cable to hardwire the connection, and everything has worked out beautifully. (Note- initially I thought of giving a good rating as oppose to Great because of the connection issues, but we have since found that the issues were on the wi-fi or computer side, not the television).

In addition to using the television as a display feature (which we have had compliments on by the way), we have also on occasion used LGs Free-TV function, which has allowed us to monitor the markets on an investment channel or even have our clients be able to toggle through some fun shows while they wait for us to come into the room.

Overall, I would recommend this TV, whether it be for business or personal use. The speakers are clear, the picture is of nice quality, and the presentation of the TV is professional and clean. It is also easy to learn, which is a plus if you potentially have multiple users of the same television.

I bought this TV a year ago and would definitely recommend it and buy it again. The picture quality has been excellent. The “Magic Remote” is very convenient and easy to use. I also especially like and use the built-in Apple Air-play feature.

It is very easy to cast content from an iPhone or iPad. I also like the way that it connects to other modern devices with 2-way communication through the HDMI cables. I use a surround sound receiver for audio, and switch the inputs to the TV through the receiver.

There is no need to hook up any audio cables because the audio signal travels backwards through the HDMI cables. I can even switch the receiver source with the Magic Remote, and control most of the functions of the connected equipment with that single remote.

The only drawback has been the scarce selection of built-in apps. All the major ones are there, but there are several that I use that are not available from the LG app store. I get around this by hooking up an Apple TV and use that for the less common apps.

This works well.

Our Lg TV has been a great addition. It it light making it easier to install and begin using. We have switched to streaming our content which has been a bit of a learning curve but we are happy with our purchase.

Unfortunately we have experienced problems with the remote from the beginning. The toggle left has been unresponsive and has ramped up to rarely working which is super frustrating. I contacted Lg to inquire about an appropriate replacement and was graciously offered a replacement with proof of purchase.

It has been 2 weeks and the replacement has not arrived so we are experiencing very aggravating TV time! I was prepared to purchase a new remote but after seeing a few reviews online of others experiencing problems with their remotes I was reluctant to purchase a replacement without researching.

Lg offering a replacement would allow me an opportunity to try again before finding a different brand replacement remote but since it has not arrived my problem has not been solved.

Outstanding picture quality and the sound quality is quite a step up from our older model that starts with an “S”. I read the included manual before I started set up and I’m glad I did. There were no hiccups getting everything running and connecting to my wifi was straightforward.

The remote is well beyond anything I have ever used and I am still getting used to it. My biggest issue is that I have tremors in both hands (I’m 75) and the curser is too responsive. I have trouble holding it steady to click on a small button on the screen.

I don’t know if the curser can be slowed-down a little, still need to dig into that. My wife has no problem with the curser. So far it has been about three weeks since our purchase and we are very happy with the set.

The additional LG channels were an unexpected surprise that we really enjoy. If you’re thinking about purchasing this TV, pull the trigger.

We bought this 2 months ago to upgrade from a much older flat screen. The clarity of the picture is amazing. In fact it shows little blemishes, filming mistakes you’d miss on a lower quality TV. We love the mouse – like remote, it took a bit to learn all the menus.

We purchased two wall mounts, not knowing which would work better. This TV needs the larger frame, and it’s not easy. Took about 2. 5 hours. Need hand screwdriver, power drill, at least 2 ppl. Since the weight needs to balance, you should center the weight-holding brackets, NOT the screw holes, of the mount system first.

We centered the screw holes and ended up having to take the mount off, then re-center. Once done it’s sturdy. I installed the LG phone app and you can turn the TV on / off through it. Also does diagnostics for free.

Saw the picture quality and color on some other LG tv’s while shopping around and decided to go with this one mainly because of the size. It has good picture and sound, though I might tweak some of those settings later.

The remote is fine. I’d say the only thing I don’t like is the home screen for all the streaming apps, and how it works. It’s too busy and my installer apps are the secondary focus (2nd or 3rd row down).

You can rearrange your apps, but you can’t rearrange them with respect to the layout they’ve provided. So you end up with a lot of advertised/suggested content being shown, which is overwhelming. Also not a fan of the autoplay when you’re idle on the home page after 3 or 4 minutes, the TV will automatically play one of m the LG Channels.

I’m still working to see if there’s at least a way to set a preference or do away with that feature. Also not sure why when you use your mobile device with the LG ThinQ app, an alphabetical keyboard isn’t available for the times you cannot want to search an app, show, movie, etc.

which is quicker than pointing and clicking the letters with the Magic Remote. Other than that, I like it, just wish the ThinQ interface was a bit more user-friendly and simplified, like Roku, for example.

I wish I could split the 5 stars in half to give an average of 2-1/2 stars. 5 stars when it works and 0 stars when it doesn’t. So, I’ll be generous and round off to 3 stars. Here is my honest review: This TV freezes about 50% of the time it’s on.

Also, the remote features stop working as well. Can’t use the back button. I called Service and they said the problem was the remote, but the new one still does the same thing. I can’t blame this problem on my wifi while streaming because all other TVs in my home do not have this problem including another LG TV I’ve had for approximately 10 years.

It is so frustrating when I’m in the middle of a movie when there is about to be an intense part and the screen just freezes. Then I have to reboot the TV somehow. It seems when the TV is problem free, it’s problem free, but again that is only about 50% of the time.

Then out of nowhere comes the pointer. I have no idea why this would happen out of the clear blue. And I should add the TV is only 3+ months old.

I bought this TV about two months ago after reviewing the specs on many. It is one I had my mind set for a while and finally Costco had it at a good price. Setting up was easy. Out of the box, it worked as an antenna TV with no issues.

Setting up Alexa was bit difficult. Called Costco Concierge Service and within a half hour, it was all set up. Though the TV package said it has Alexa built in and it came with the voice remote, it seems to need an external Alexa device like the Echo show which we had, I was told by the Concierge service that I could contact LG service directly to get it set up without needing an external Echo-show device.

I did not opt to do it because the time constraints. Sound quality is good without the use of an external speakers. I use it with a Beats blue tooth earphone. Setting that up was breeze.

I purchased this TV to replace a 55″ Vizio bought in 2019. I like Vizio, but I am disappointed that they don’t seem to last long – so this time I went with an LG set. My viewing room is rather dark, and I have a Vizio 5.

1 soundbar. The Picture – I wasn’t too impressed at first, but I looked at several YouTube videos on how to set up the TV for the best picture. The concensus is to select the picture setting of “FILMMAKER” if it is available.

It is on this set, and I like it. FILMMAKER yields the most accurate colors according to the video experts and it works fine in my room. It is a better picture than the previous Vizio. If you spend more money for a premium set, like an OPLD, you will get a even better picture.

For the money this TV gives an excellent picture. The Sound – Here is a strength of this TV, perhaps all LG’s but I’m not sure of that. With the soundbar on the previous Vizio my wife and I both had issues understanding all the dialog, especially in quiet scenes such when the characters are talking softly.

I hooked up my soundbar using an HDMI cable from the HDMI (ARC) jack on the LG to the HDMI jack on the soundbar. Without making any adjustments, other than turning off the internal speakers on the TV, the soundbar connected immediately to the TV.

Best news is the sound from the soundbar is excellent. Cleaner and chrisper than the sound produced by the same soundbar from the Vizio TV. The most noticiable difference is the dialog is very clear and distinct and much easier to understand at normal listening levels.

Before we were essentially blasting the TV volume just be sure to hear the soft dialog, and we don’t need to do that now. If you buy this TV I’d recommend getting a soundbar too. I can’t comment on the sound from the TV’s internal speakers, but I’m sure a soundbar will produce better sound especially more bass.

I’ve had success with refurbished electronics so that’s what I got here. The price for a new set on sale was even less than refurbished, so either way a good deal. I also got the 4 year protection plan which seemed reasonably priced.

Usually if a TV last 3 to 4 years it will be good for many more years. My set came with the regular remote, some LG sets come with a “Magic Remote”. I find the regular remote needs to aimed carefully to get a response from the TV, an annoyance but I can live with it.

As I was more used to Vizio set up screens it took me awhile to figure out how to fine tune this LG. Overall, I think most people select a TV for the picture. I don’t do games so no comment on gaming.

We have a cable connection, and do stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount , and Peacock. It took a bit but I’ve figured out how to get all the content we enjoyed on the previous TV. The picture is fine for me, but the sound with the soundbar really has me excited about this TV.

I bought this TV sight-unseen based on online reviews and the specs of this model. The color is good and I appreciate the settings which allow the pictures to be viewed as the filmmakers meant them to be.

One of these settings “Filmmaker Mode” was apparently designed and promoted by the movie industry. There is another option though and it is the one I prefer. It is called ISF which is presumably settings chosen by professional monitor calibration technicians to make your TV picture as close as possible to the picture presented on professional monitors used in movie studios.

I recommend using the defaults on these two modes (ISF dark room and ISF bright room) because if the concept is true then you will only adjust your TV further away from the theoretical “ideal” picture.

There are other modes meant for you to try your own adjustments so use those so you can come back to a “known good” if you don’t like the adjustments you have made. My only complaint so far is that the signal meter for tuning on-air DTV is buried in the menu.

A great change to make in the next software update is to move the signal meter into the box where the channel number is displayed so if a channel is weak and you need to turn the antenna, the information is right there for you.

We recently bought this TV, since our previous TV (also an LG) had the picture go out after many years of use. Since we had been pleased with our previous one, we decided we wanted to get another one from LG.

This model has a number of projection options, but we don’t see all that much of a difference between several of them, though others might. I do use the game setting for games and that looks great. It has great sound.

I was considering getting a soundbar for the previous TV, but I’m more sure I’ll get one now, since the sound quality is so good on this model. One thing that should be changed, is that the directions for setting up the TV for use (attaching the supports) are only drawings.

Some text making things a bit more clear would have been helpful. Our son and I were both setting it up and it took us a couple of attempts to get things worked out correctly. You do want to make sure you have something big enough to put the TV on, if you don’t attach it to a wall.

The stand we had for the last TV was too small, but we did have something we could put it on without buying something else, but make sure you do before hand.

I have been testing my QNED85 over the past days and the first word that comes to my mind is WOW! I have upgraded from 40 to 55in and I must admit that at first the QNED seemed massive but after a short while we got used to the size.

We have had the TV wall mounted – due to its size and weight, I would definitely suggest having 2 people to install. Although it is big but also slim and sleek so it does look good on the wall. The power cord could have been a little bit longer as we have to use an extension socket.

We have used a basic tilt TV bracket which was easy to fix to the TV’s universal fixing holes. The initial set up was extremely simple. Installing additional programs, like YouTube or logging in to streaming platforms was easy too – there was no need to type passwords; I just needed to scan QR code within the app to connect it to my account, simple! As I have already had an LG ThinQ app to control my washing machine, I have just added the TV to it, meaning that I can now use my mobile phone as a remote if needed and also with two clicks on my phone I can view and play any content of my phone to the TV.

The remote itself is very small and simplified. In addition to the standard buttons, there is a point and scroll button and are also hotkeys dedicated to the main streaming platforms so with a press of one button you can open these directly.

As for the picture quality – this is amazing – especially when watching any 4K content. For sure, LG didn’t lie when they have mentioned the nearly-perfect black. All colours are so vivid, bright and crisp; the contrast is just perfect and the picture is very sharp.

You can look at the TV from any possible angle and the quality of the picture is the same. With different picture modes to choose from, whatever you watch, it will be perfectly optimised. We have tried the standard and filmmaker modes as well as sports (husband is well impressed) and the game optimised mode for use with PS5 which made the game look a lot more realistic.

The modes are well defined and so far I did not feel I needed to make any adjustments. The quality of the sound with Dolby Atmos is amazing too. Again, with various modes for sound, whatever you listen to will sound great.

Another great feature is that I can connect my Bluetooth headphones wirelessly to the TV. I am well happy with my purchase and I would recommend this TV especially to someone who values good quality picture and sound and also lov.

I’ve purchased the LG 65” QNED866QA MiniLED 4K Smart TV as an upgrade from our old 42 inch way less smart TV. The TV came in a really large box carried by two people as it was such a bulky and heavy item to deliver.

Unboxing was interesting. 2 of us could barely get the TV out of the box it was so well packaged. We’ve used a normal 40-80 inch TV Wall bracket to display the TV on the wall and it was a fairly simple process to hang it up.

Be careful when choosing your bracket (doesn’t need to be expensive, just slightly forward tilting) to make sure you won’t lose access to the ports. The electricity cord of the TV is located around the middle of the back, maybe a bit towards the right side and unfortunately we’ve found it to be too short.

It is probably long enough for people who display it on a TV stand, but our TV is hung on the wall and the cord is led behind the length of the TV we now need to put up an extender very close to the side of the TV.

I’ve used the LGThinQ app to go through the TV set up which was fairly simple the TV was up and running in no time. To my surprise I was able to connect the TV with our voice assistant smart speaker so I can just say “Hey ‘X’ turn on ‘streaming service name’ on TV” or hey ‘X’ show this or that on TV etc.

There is also a dedicated button on the remote for said voice assist so you could just press the button on the remote and speak to said voice assist to ask questions or tell her to carry out tasks. TV could even be used as an alternative to a computer, it has a proper super fast browser, you can just open a search engine and use the voice input instead of struggling to type with remote and find whatever you need quickly.

I was even able to do my weekly online shopping on a supermarkets website on the TV. It’s incredible. I was able set up all of our favourite streaming services really quickly and connect a dedicated LG soundbar through the HDMI ARC port with no issues.

The sound was great on the new TV but adding the LG soundbar really takes it to the next level. The picture is breath taking and really feels like a home theatre when we turn all the lights off in the evening and put on a movie.

I’m running out of the available words, but all in all the TV is incredible and we are very happy with our purchase. Only downside is the short cord, but couldn’t justify knocking down a star for that.

First of all it’s a solidly built tv and I love the fact that the legs can be mounted on the outside as well as the inside part of the tv because my stand is definitely not as wide as the tv. I like the flexibility and having different mounting options.

As far as the interface goes it’s pretty snappy and I haven’t experienced any lag or stutter. The app selection is great and about 95% of the apps I needed were available in the App Store. Picture quality was pretty good with anything I threw at it whether it was live tv, streaming or disc.

I love the fact that it supports both Dolby Vision and Atmos, and I was surprised at how well the tv speakers were when compared to most tvs. The mini leds easily outperformed my older FALD set at half the price! I’m excited to see what future QNED sets will have to offer.

Peak brightness was excellent and can be blinding given the right situation. While not always a problem, blooming could be very noticeable at times but if you have never owned an OLED this might not be too big of a problem since most LED tvs have this problem and he user might not even notice it.

I turned on VRR for my PS5 and now that I have used it I never want to go back, it is absolutely amazing and gameplay is so much smoother when enabled. The tv is well worth the price and is easy to recommend considering how much better they are than previous non OLED LG televisions.

This is mostly an OK TV, but I do have a few problems. The first is the Magic Remote which is activated by the scroll button that replaced the Okay button. Unfortunately, I have tremors in both my hands and the cursor jumps all over the screen if activated.

It is activated very easily by touching the scroll button. I have not found a way to permanently turn off this “feature” and when asked support about purchasing a different remote control I was referred to a company that sold the TVs but no remotes.

I am now in the process of purchasing a universal remote which I hope works with enough of the features to make it possible to watch TV leisurely. The second problem is the voice remote. I do not like voice activated controls, I am old-fashioned and like my hardware to be run by my fingers.

I cannot locate in the manual or anywhere else a way to disconnect the voice activation system, which I am able to disable on other items of mine. Third problem is the manual/LG Control Store and the Home Page.

On the home page are numerous apps that I will never use. The ones I use I have to scroll through many other apps to get to those apps everyday. I was told by support that I can order them or delete apps I do not use by updating them in the LG Control Store.

I cannot locate the LG Control Store anywhere in or outside of the User Manual. Searches bring up nothing or results that are not even closely related to my search. On my laptop or my phone I just have to swipe them off the page to delete them and drag them to rearrange them, why is it so difficult to manage apps on my TV.

New “features” are wonderful for those who like them, but they are a nightmare to those people that do not want them. I guess I shouldn’t complain as this is better than what I had, but I truly believe this was a waste of money and I will not replace any of my existing electronics with LG in the future and I definitely will not buy anything else LG.

It’s the eternal dilemma with purchasing a TV: every need is different, and everybody has an opinion. We have other TVs; this one was purchased to replace a low-end Samsung we had wall-mounted in the home office.

The goal? Something to watch casually, as well as a large screen to put content from our computers on, be it via screen mirroring, second display, or casting. We knew we wanted 4K, and since we have two LG OLEDs, and we’re quite happy with them, LG became the primary choice for brand.

I’m visually-impaired, and their accessibility offerings are good. Not to mention that having menus work much like they do on the other sets is a bonus for me. Next, cost. This is not a TV for critical watching, but it had to be good enough to enjoy, as well as be a reasonable computer display when needed.

So, not the cheapest, but not high-end OLED. Size-wise, we had limits, so we went for the 43″, which has a slightly less awesome panel than some of the other sizes in the series. After narrowing it all down, this was the TV for us.

So, how did it work out? Really, really well. I’m quite surprised at how nice this TV is for the price. The picture is nice and clear, it’s easy to set up and use, and as a bonus, the speakers are so good that we aren’t bothering to send sound to the Apple HomePod in the office.

In shorty, it exceeded all of our expectations, and I can imagine it being a decent primary TV for someone who doesn’t want to spend huge amounts but still wants a good picture and sound, with useful smart TV features.

One more note: speaking of features, LG’s support for Apple’s AirPlay 2 and HomeKit is better than most other manufacturers. If you’ve invested in Apple’s ecosystem, it fits in well.

I bought this TV for my bedroom December 2021. It gets some use, but not that much since we predominately use our living room TV to watch TV together. This past August, eight months after purchasing, the TV stopped working.

You could hear the sound but there was no picture. I called LG to trouble shoot, they conclude it’s the main panel or something to that effect and because it’s under warranty, they send it off to a company to have them come out and repair.

Bless the company they sent it to that’s on the whole other side of Atlanta to drive all the way here to repair it, considering they’ve had to come twice and it’s still not fixed. First time they determine it isn’t the main panel but the back light.

He has that part sent to my house and he shows up the next week to repair it, and lo and behold, it’s the wrong part too. He says he needs the part including the assembly which should come with a backlight and apparently their “assembly” didn’t include that, it only included the screen which I didn’t need.

He called them and they mentioned trying another part number, which he didn’t think was correct either and thinks there might not even be a way to order that part. So they wanted me to take off another day of work just to TRY this part too and see if it worked.

I was just at my wits end and told them never mind. Went out and bought a Samsung like I should have done to begin with since I’ve never had an issue with those and that’s what we have all over our house.

Sucks to have to eat the cost of this one, but it’s been a terrible experience. What TV less than a year old has a backlight blow? I’ve own my other TVs for at least a decade in some cases and never had this happen.

Right out of the box, this is a beautiful TV. It is paper thin, and the stand looks clean and low profile. That is before even turning it on. This TV has fantastic picture quality, as expected with an OLED display.

4K content with Dolby Vision looks amazing on this thing, and its worth the price just for that. I am a little disappointed with the Smart TV software that comes with it. It has a wide range of streaming services and websites like Twitch and YouTube included, which is great, but occasionally the programs crash.

I have to delete my recently used apps for them to work properly again. I continue to receive software updates, hoping that each one of them fixes it, but the problem still remains after every one. The only other issue is the remote.

I like the mouse mechanic that the remote has, but after only about 3 months of use, the arrow pad in the middle became sticky to click on. I have contacted LG about getting a new one, which they promised they would send to me.

It has been about 2 months since they said they sent one, and I haven’t gotten it yet. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would buy another LG, I just wish the software was fixed so my shows won’t crash.

We bought this in feb 2021. The picture is great. The TV will crash occasionally. When this happens we lose the ARC channel (more on that below). LG tells me that the internal memory fills up. We don’t do much, just about 5 typical apps.

Disney+, Prime, Netflix, sometimes you tube or paramount and Stadia. LG told me to turn off the quick start feature. So far this solves the issue, but shouldn’t they developed a system that works rather than shut down features which we paid for.

? My use cannot be abnormally heavy… if this fills ap the cache to the point of crashing there is a software issue that needs to be fixed with a patch. When it crashes, I lose the ARC functions. I need to reset back to factory defaults to get it back.

This last time however, even that did not work. LG is sending a tech. Until then, I cannot use external sound. The internal speakers are what one might expect from internal speakers. Not great. It was not an issue as we use an external 5.

1 amp/receiver and speakers but the ARC channel no longer works … Like I said, the picture is beautiful. Also, I wish that the CXAUA model worked with any USB keyboard or game controller. That would be easy and they could update the software for 2020 models.

LG…just sayin’ Also, if there were an 85”, I would have bought that.

I gave it a month before this review to make sure that it is not too good to be true, and it is more that good! This is coming from someone who have had the best plasma and LED TVs. Pros: 1. Excellent overall aesthetic design including the stand and subtle LG log on the stand, really really thin display and well-balanced weight distribution.

2. Exceptionally sharp details, true black and pleasing color display in most settings without the artificial boost when programs being up-scaled to 4K. 3. The sound from the built-in speakers (including vocal) is more than adequate, thanks to the warmness and full projection into a medium size room and seats located 12 to 16 feet away.

4. Most of us who are comfortable with using the mouse or touch pad to control the cursor on PCs or laptops will feel right at home with using the cursor of the remote control to navigate around. 5. Beautifully crafted frames in the Gallery with exquisite shade and silhouette enhance the artwork and photos.

The frames should be made available to users’ own photos, essentially turning the TV into a live show of users’ photos which will turn friends and relatives green with envy! Room for improvement: 1. Anti glare coating please! the screen is highly reflective so take that into account when locating the TV, especially in a room with lots of windows or strong light sources.

2. The hardware is great and it deserve a OS and UI review/redesign (menu, setting locations and flow) to take the hardware further. 3. I updated the firmware during the set up but it still takes a few seconds for the up-scaling algorithm to turn a fuzzy native display into a sharper 4K picture.

This is somewhat disoriented to watch, especially it happens every time a commercial got inserted into the program we were watching. It does not affect non-commercial material though (movie, streamed content, etc.

). Buy it, it is such a visual treat for you!.

TV was purchased and installed, worked wonderfully for an entire year. We use a variety of content, game and movies. Very little has static content. We do use the device a lot. Paying this amount of money, we expected a longer life out of this TV.

About a year in, we started seeing a box in the center of the screen, taking up about 60% of the screen. It was ever so faint, but could be seen clearly on yellow/red colored full screens. Now there are tons of shades that show wear and tear all over.

At this cost I would expect something with a better usage life but this does not seem to be the case. I think OLED is beautiful, but burn-in seems to be a legitimate issue for those that use a TV on outside of “normal” usage paatterns.

September 6, 2021. I have owned many different types of electronic visual displays, such as cathode ray tube (CRT); electroluminescent (ELD); liquid crystal display (LCD) and variations of light-emitting diode (LED) backlit LCD, thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD, light-emitting diode (LED); plasma (PDP), and organic LED (OLED).

And I have also watched quantum dot LED (QLED) televisions at many stores. Among these various types, I consider the OLED to give the “best of all worlds”, in terms of contrast (whites, infinite shades of gray, and blacks), color, viewing angles, movement and display distortions, etc.

So, I finally decided to buy an OLED TV and replace the others, and the best value for me was the LG 65BXPUA. I was aware that other OLED models are better, but the “improvements” they offer do not justify their much higher prices.

I am very much satisfied with this choice, e. g. , I keep saying “WOW” every time I watch movies and documentaries with this TV.

We absolutely loved the display on this TV. I was initially going to be kind of cheap about getting a new TV because I just don’t care that much, but my husband and I saw the color and detail on this TV and all our TV purchasing plans went out the window and we bought this one.

It was nearly double what I’d budgeted for, but totally worth it, initially. I would have given this TV 5 stars, but at 13 months, the display started acting up. The TV would power off randomly. And the starting on the right side, light and dark alternating lines started showing up.

And of course 13 months is right outside of the warranty window and LG’s response was, here are our authorized repair centers where you can pay to have your TV repaired.

I bought this tv on 28th of May and did not set it up until over a month later due to moving into a new place. Does not fall within argos 30 day warranty. Called argos directed me to LG. Tv had numerous 5cm shadow lines when watching sports or shows with same couloured background.

LG service department provided poor service. The amount of money I spent calling their premium number to get this sorted could of been used to buy a Sony or Samsung tv. After talking with them they advised to send in pictures and videos for their technicians to provide the verdict.

As many would know difficult to pick up images on a TV through a camera compared to the naked eye. They pretty much said all TV’s have this dirty screen effect and can’t do anything about it. It falls within their spec.

Rudely might I add talking over me and shutting me off. I also asked why lg does not mention this in their sales campaign for their tvs. I have bought a TV which looks like it had been hanging at a pub for the last 5 years.

Annoying to watch sport and not enjoying my experience. advised me to turn off trumotion which is a feature of fast action sport scenes to fix it up. Therefore I have bought a new TV and being asked to turn off a function they market.

Really annoyed of the whole process and once again the big companies shut down the little man. Will be taking it further with the ombudsman as this is not acceptable from a multinational company to be bullying a customer after purchase.

Recommend staying away from lg and led TV’s. Have had Sony and Samsung lcd previously and their support and products are much better. Spend the money and buy a better brand.

So when you first get this TV you will notice no Youtube APP. If you want the YouTube app you need to set the location to USA/South Africa. Just a lil but if knowledge, if you also want to use your phone with the device you will need to download the LG TV app.

On your phone other than that the HD is ok not brilliant but the TV is only 350 so you can’t expect perfection. Came next day delivery very good TV and make for the price and size.

LG 43UP75006LF Purchased from Richer Sounds Purchased above TV from Richer Sounds because: • existing set is an LG from Richer Sounds and has been excellent over the 12 years I’ve had it, • existing set has both Freesat and Freeview tuners, I can toggle between the two quite easily and the new set is advertised as having both tuners, • free delivery, • six years’ warranty included.

When ordering the TV, I asked that it should be delivered at any time except Friday afternoon. It was delivered Friday afternoon. I received an email that was supposed to have my receipt and warranty details attached, but it was not attached.

After four unsuccessful attempts at email attachments, the receipt was sent to me by post and has now been received. The previous LG set had both Freesat and Freeview and I was able to toggle between the two for the few channels available on one and not the other.

The main attraction to me of the new set is that it has both Freesat and Freeview available and I thought this would be the same, but it isn’t and I must choose which I have or have a lengthy retuning process between viewings.

This was not made clear before purchase. The paper manual supplied could not have been more basic – a single sheet of A4 folded down the middle. A few pages of instructions to get started should have been the minimum.

I downloaded the manual from LG. The remote control supplied is not the same as that in the manual. This has made set-up much more difficult than it should have been. More was achieved by trial and error than by looking at the manual.

Picture and sound quality is good, especially on Freesat HD channels. Value for money is good, especially with the six-year warranty and free delivery. Works well with the peripherals I have. Remote is a bit small and fiddly.

Now the TV is up and working it is fine and I am pleased with the result, but it took a lot longer to get to that outcome than it should have taken. I would give the TV set four stars and the service two, so an average of three stars.

On unboxing, the TV felt plastic and loose and insubstantial. It creaked and wobbled and felt like it might fall apart. It feels like really cheap tat. because it is. We bought the TV because of the incredible reviews on Argos.

I couldn’t believe how wrong they could be. Before I begin the review, its best to explain that I spent 9 years working as a TV installer. I’m very familiar with all the tricks in terms of settings to get the most out of the TV.

Nonetheless, the best I could achieve was unwatchable. The picture quality on this set is shocking. I mean, my jaw literally dropped when I saw it, and not in a good way. Setting the TV to sports mode for example remimds me of playing a spectrum 48k on an old tube TV.

Blocky, grainy, unnatural and luminous 90’s colours regardless of source, source quality or content. The other picture presets are similarly shabby but for different reasons. Once I’d finished tinkering I achieved something that was bearable on 4k HDR sources, but 1080P and below is unwatchable.

Even with all the processing turned off, the picture is laggy and floaty and has a load of annoying artifacts. Forget about SD content on freesat or free view completely – you literally can’t make out facial expressions or read any text that’s displayed.

The sound is out of sync with the picture on the apps, live broadcasts and external sources. LG have a setting to correct it but it’s nearly impossible to get just right and you have to do it each time you turn the TV on.

One of the selling points that attracted us was the Alexa functionality. It turns out its incredibly limited. You can turn the TV off, but not on, and change the volume. That seems to be it! I might expect quality like this from a cheap supermarket brand, but even then I would have been a bit disappointed.

The other reason we went with LG was that our last set was so excellent. A 50 inch 1080p, 9 years old, and very noticebly better in every area than this 2021 4k HDR piece of junk. Don’t be sucked in by the sales pitch, brand or price like we were.

You will definitley be disappointed.

Bought this Television a few weeks ago primarily for using with my PS5 and its been an excellent performer. Delivery, despite me being on the very edge of the delivery area for a TV this size was within 5 working days.

Very happy with that. The build quality of the TV is good, its not a top end set after all but the remote is fiddly. The buttons are too small. The television itself has an excellent picture for gaming, its primary use in my man cave, and game optimiser gives excellent performance.

My last TV was a Samsung and this is miles better. Blu Ray and DVD performance is also excellent. I do not use it online so cannot comment on that. Picture performance is excellent and the settings available cater to a wide variety of choices.

Takes a bit of time to get the right settings through trial and error but its worth it. I am very happy with the set, its my first LG and if you are looking for a budget gaming TV then its a great choice.
