The MFR4-5 Macro Focusing Rail from Oben is a lightweight macro stage designed for precise 4-way camera alignment. Its ability to make small incremental adjustments is ideal for close-up work, tilt-shift or macro-photography.
The MFR4-5 provides 2. 75″ of maximum front to back movement and 1. 25″ of maximum left to right movement controlled by dual-level adjustment knobs. The two angles of movement are controlled by independent top and bottom rails which may be separated using the included Allen key.
This allows the top rail to be used alone as a front-to-back macro rail. The rail is also equipped with an integrated Arca-type compatible quick release clamp and an included Arca-type plate. The plate uses a 1/4″-20 screw mount compatible with most cameras.
The rail can also be mounted on most tripods by utilizing the built-in 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 tripod mounting threads. A durable aluminum construction provides smooth operation for extended use and keeps the unit lightweight at only 1.
I do both garden and studio photography. Both my studio and garden photograph just got significantly easier. The left to right adjustments lets me center things with ease. No more picking up the tripod.
Being able to focus in and out smoothly and precisely means no more nearly spot on macro. I’m 71 with shaky hands. Now I can shoot like i used to. Money well spent.
I received the rail yesterday. Interestingly the packing tape on the sides of the packing box had been cut on the two sides II have sent images to B&H and to UPS). Anyway, I used the rail for a couple of hours yesterday to do focus stacked images.
I used a Sigma 180mm/f2. 8 macro lens on a Nikon D850, on a Swiss Pro tripod. This is a heavy system and I had to line up the lens properly to get a good weight distribution and to make sure the system was stable.
I was also using a Ray Flash mounted on a Nikon SB5000. Hence stability was a key. I had to play around with the system to get it lined up and stable, but it worked. I have the rail attached with the mounting screws on the tripod, as opposed to using a Arca Swiss plate method.
More surface area and better stability for the long lens system. The rail worked well. It is definitely not as smooth as I expected, and as one winds the rail (even using the fine movement knob), it will be slightly jumpy after a few winds, then smooth again, and then a bit jumpy, and then smooth.
But it is cheaper than some of the other rails on the market (Manfrotto, Novoflex), so it is worth the price, and provides good value. My main lens is a Nikon 105mm/f2. 8 Micro, so the system should be fine.
At no time, once the system was set up, did I feel worried that I would lose stability during the stack process. The construction is good, but frankly is far from substantial. I am just getting started with focus stacking – so a good starting rail.
But at some point, if I stick with macro work, I will be upgrading to a more solid rail. In my opinion a great starting and budget rail, which handles a large system (with common sense being applied).
This was an international order as the product, or any decent macro rail is not available in my country. After reading the reviews here, I decided to go with this rail as it was within my budget. With DHL saver, it took more than a month to get delivered, which is ok as I was willing to wait.
After opening the package box, I was shocked to see that the only protection for the box is just one thick bubble wrap on the top, the sides and the bottom is completely exposed with no shock absorbing material.
Seriously? You are shipping a product overseas, which will be in transit for weeks and without a doubt, will be subjected to a lot of rough handling during shipping, and the only protection is one thick bubble wrap on the top? Whats even worse is the protection inside the package; the rail is just wrapped inside a plastic, which is wrapped inside a bubble wrap, with none of the bubbles intact, so basically no protection against accidental shocks.
Now coming to the product: long story short, the top rail makes an ugly clacking sound with every turn of the knob, even with nothing mounted. This is not expected and I feel the rail will just stop working any day.
I have taken opinions from other users here, and they confirmed the same thing: movement of both rails should be smooth and silent. In my case, the top rail, in addition to making the sound with every turn, also is a little loose and not as damped as the bottom rail, which is perfect and has no issues.
It is very difficult to say what exactly happened: Was the product defective from the beginning? Did I receive a used product which was defective and hence was returned to B&H? Did the damage happen due to rough handling during the shipment? There was literally zero protection in the box against shock, so I won’t be surprised at all if that caused the issue.
Now, I am worried the rail might stop working any day. Extremely disappointed with the purchase.

Huge SmallRig fan here. NATO rail is well made. The spring-loaded safety pins on each end function smoothly and offer peace of mind that NATO attachments won’t just fall off the rail if their clamp works loose.
This rail is also lower profile (not as tall) as others, which may be a problem for certain setups but works well for mine.

Designed for accessories that need a picatinny rail to mount this accessory mount will fit most existing bow stabilizers. It can be rotated for greater versatility. Handy for adding a light laser or other accessory to your bow.
This is an awesome piece of equipment to add onto your bow. The lighting strength is great. Unfortunately, the remote pressure pad switch doesnt work. It came that way straight out of the new package.
Reading some reviews this seemed to be a common problem. Didnt think it would happen to me but it did. Paid a lot of money for this package and thinking back now, it would have been cheaper and better to buy the parts separately.

My son is the skater. He is happy with rail. He wishes that is was taller. He said that it’s no bigger then his skateboard. I guess my next purchase will be ramps. It did get here before Christmas so that made me very happy.

Magpul is a cult; let’s get that out of the way. Products like this are the reason. This takes a rail with sharp edges and makes it a bit more comfortable, protected, and gives it some color. It adds zero, zip, nada in the weight department and is totally user and installer friendly.
All things considered, it serves a need that you may not realize that you have by attractively utilizing what would be hereforto ‘dead space’ on your rail.
Wasn’t sure how effective these ladder-style rail covers would be, but they work well and keep you from scraping your knuckles on the sharp edges of the aluminum picatinny-style hand guards. Just measure the length of what you need and slice with a razor knife.
Installs in a snap. Buy an extra one just to be sure, and get a contrasting color just for fun!.
Mount map rail to wall with included hardware. Use pushpins to tack papers to cork insert. Map rail accepts flip chart hooks, thumbtacks and more. Mount rails end to end for longer lengths. Map rail offers a cork surface and aluminum frame with satin finish.
I was using this in my classroom. It comes with only two screws for mounting. We had to add another four screws to allow it to hang papers. We only hang one paper per student. The cork is not deep for the push pins.
This thing is 8′ long and there are only drill holes at either end. I had our shop guy drill one in the center and now that they’re hanging (without having hung anything on them yet), I can see they’re going to need two more.
Already bowing out from the wall. Just plain dumb to only provide two end supports.
