20 Best Ouidad Products For Curly Hair (2023 Updated)

I heard hundreds of recommendations for this gel when I started embracing my natural 2B-3A medium porosity hair. I bought it without question, and even ordered a second bottle (the huge one, too) after the first ran out.

I thought the dryness/straw texture my hair got after application was just par for the course with gels since it was my first time ever touching gel. As I learned more about humectants and other ingredients in hair products, I realized that the high glycerin content in this gel is the culprit behind my frizzy locks.

Doesn’t matter how much or how little gel I put in, my hair frizzes and knots as soon as it’s 50% dry and it gets exponentially worse if I apply any while refreshing. For anyone reading: if you live somewhere that’s very dry or very humid, avoid humectants like glycerin in the first few ingredients (or at all).

Humectants draw moisture from their surroundings, but if the air is dry as bone (like it is where I live), it’s going to pull that moisture from your hair (and skin if it’s in skin care products) and make it extremely dry.

If the air is extremely humid, your hair will feel squishy and icky (and skin will feel oily) if you use products with glycerin in them. All that being said, this is a great gel. It’s liquid so it coats hair easily and I never had any problems with it flaking.

Its glycerin content is just not right for my environment. If you live in a moderately humid place, this will probably be a fantastic gel for you!.

I have tried so many gels from lower price points to high end. I have 2C-3B curls, low porosity and regular porosity strands, shoulder length, and curly bangs. Lots of layers in my hair with the shortest being 2” on top.

I particularly love this gel because of its runny consistency, which makes it super easy to glaze and rake through the hair. On top of average 80%+ humidity in summer, I work a job that often causes me to sweat.

This gel holds up. I can get away with washing my hair once a week. When I need a refresh, I either simply add water which reactivates the gel or, around mid-week, dampen hair and add more gel. The cast created is buildable – less gel = softer curls with little cast, more gel = stronger cast.

I prefer a stronger cast with this product, so I use a dollar coin sized amount THREE times on each side of my hair, working in sections. I say this because some people think this gel doesn’t make a cast, but maybe they aren’t using enough product.

It is an expensive gel, but worth every penny for me.

I have been using this product for three years and I love it. Honestly you have to know exactly what your hair needs because It took me a while to figure it out but this is what I do. I have medium (thickness) curly hair.

I use a leave in conditioner, the curlsmith activator spray, curlsmith jelly, then Ouidad gel. It leaves my hair super shiny and soft with defined curls. This is not a product that I would recommend curly girls to use alone unless you have fine hair.

I think it would it would be a great product for someone with fine hair because it’s super lightweight and doesn’t weigh my hair down. I would not say this is “strong hold” I would say “soft hold”. So if you’re looking for shine, and something that won’t weigh down your curls, this could help.

Hope this helps. If you have thick hair you need to layer products. Sorry I also wish I could find one product that would do all of the things my hair needs but I have not found it yet.

I started using this over 10 years ago. Ouidad products are really intended for curly tops, but my hair is wavy and I thought I would give some of their products a try. While most of their products don’t work for me, Botanical Boost has been a mainstay in my hair styling arsenal.

My husband and daughter love it, too; and both of them have straighter hair than I do. You do not need to have curly hair to benefit from this product. I use this after I towel dry my hair, especially if it is hard to comb through.

My daughter has long straight hair, and when she was little, I would spray this on her hair to detangle it. Worked like a charm! Now that I am older and my hair is not as oily as when I was younger, I have stopped washing my hair on a daily basis.

But since my hair is fine, I wake up with a horrible case of bedhead every day. My hair bends in 20 different directions. This miracle product helps me remedy my bedhead without shampooing it. I used to try and correct the bedhead by spritzing it with water and blow drying, but the styling products I used the day before would make my hair get sticky and hard.

Botanical Boost is like a miracle product to me! I spray this on my bedhead and blow dry it, and it makes my hair look freshly washed! It truly is amazing! It does not make my hair sticky or cause the products I used the day before to reactivate and get sticky and hard like water does.

I have tried other dry shampoos and rejuvenators, but NONE work like Botanical Boost. NONE. This product is truly amazing and a life saver to me, and I never want to be without it. < 3.

I hate curly typing but if you have tight kinky 4a/4c curls, you will absolutely love this for detangling and overall conditioning. This spray makes my hair sooooo manageable/pliable to detangle with both fingers and a tool! I incorporate it into my styling process for wash and go’s before I set under a dryer and I am so happy about this.

I used to use water but this product has been a game changer. And it smellllsssss botanical! Wow will be repurchasing for sure.

Product works as described. The smell isn’t fancy. But okay. But with botanicals it is what it is. It makes my hair super soft and takes some frizz away. So it does what it’s supposed to. So I’m satisfied with purchase.

I should start by saying that I have fine hair with a very loose, wavy curl pattern. Despite that, my hair is extremely dry and in constant need of hydration. This oil is a super-hydrating oil, which I need; however, if I spray this on my ends wet or dry hair as directed and then style, I often have “oily” patches or hair that is weighed down and limp.

What I have started doing is using it as a pre-wash conditioning treatment, and oh my goodness it has made all the difference! I spray in 5-6 spritzes all over my hair (shoulder length) and work through with my fingers.

(It’s pretty oily and saturated at this point. ) I give myself a quick scalp massage and then comb everything through one more time. Sometimes I wrap my hair in a warm towel but sometimes I don’t. but I do wait 20 minutes to let my hair drink in the oil.

Then it’s into the shower to wash my hair and condition it, as usual. Before drying my hair, whether I let it do it’s sort-of-curly-but-not-like-it-used-to-be thing (hello aging. ) or blow it dry straight, I add just one spritz of oil to my palm and work it gently through the ends and only the ends.

Apply styling products as usual and style. My hair is crazy soft. My ends are not dry and frazzled. And most importantly, it’s not weighed down or oily at all! This whole process takes about an hour, including the pre-shower treatment, so it’s not something I do every time I wash my hair (which is only twice a week as it is).

I do this once a week in the winter (usually my Monday morning wash) and once every other week in the warmer months. As for cost, yes, it is a higher price point product, but I’ve had the same bottle for almost a year and I am finally to the point where I need to re-order.

I think that’s a pretty good deal if you amortize the cost over 12 months (yes, I am an accountant).

I tried it tonight for the first time. I have fine curly hair lots of it. I put 3 sprays into my palm rubbed them together then put it on the ends which are really dry. At first it did nothing in fact I was upset and wanted to wash it out.

Then my toddler woke up from his nap. I forgot about it for about 20 minutes. Then something magical happened lol. My curls were shiny bouncy and more defined. I guess it needs to sit and penetrate into the hair.

I’m glad I waited and didn’t wash it out. It’s really good!.

With 3b curls that are dry, coarse, long, tangly and graying. I’ve been struggling lately. I want so badly to keep my hair long and grow it longer than I’ve ever had the patience to. I purchased this Ouidad VitalCurl mousse today (last one on the shelf!), because I was desperately trying to just get my hair to look good.

I got home with my new product and hit the shower right away. After washing/conditioning I put a bit of my previously purchased Ouidad VitalCurl Tress Effects Gel in my palm and added a a nice dollop of this mousse on top and mixed it together until no foam remained and I was left with a wonderfully slippery gel-consistency.

I repeated the process once more to make sure I coated everything. I used an Olivia Garden brush to distribute the product and let it dry naturally. It didn’t take as long to fully dry as when I use my gel with other hair creams and my hair had a cast that was so perfect it still looked wet when it was fully dry.

I was so happy with the results that I feel like I can let this unruly mom keep on growing. At least my ponytail would look good and not a frizzy mess like it usually does. This is THE one product from Ouidad that I feel I can’t do without.

Granted, I haven’t used it by itself but when a curly girl finds her perfect recipe, it’s a challenge to stray from it for fear of ruining the outcome. As a side note, I have used the gel mentioned above by itself and I loved the curl formation, however, it’s a very foamy gel once I start applying it and it makes a squooshing noise and turns white.

Ok so ive been on my curly girl wave about a year now. A lot of trial and error along the way with styling and products. Even before my transition i knew i did not like gel or mousse products (hellooo crunchy early 2000s hair that wouldnt even budge in winter winds!) im a strict cream product girl.

but once i started incorporating leave-ins prior to my styling products and saw what a difference it makes, i Realized thats what i had been missing. I currently use As I Am classic leave in conditioner.

On wash day when ive got a freshly cleaned and deep conditioned head of hair, i apply my leave-in and follow with this ouidad mousse (while hair’s still soaking wet but microfiber towel/t-shirt dried) and absolutely love my results! I either let air dry fully, or air dry partially and follow with a diffuser on high/cool, and both methods give me defined, bouncy, tight coiled curls with ZERO CRUNCH 😀 for reference i have thin-to-medium, shoulder length “type 2b/c” hair according to the internet but in reality i do achieve much more coils than waves so i still dont really go by any of that.

All parts of my hair can be anywhere from 2a/b to 3a lol. But this method definitely provides me with tighter curls for sure. I am super pleased with this purchase and glad i gave it a chance while it was on sale! Will likely repurchase once i run out even at full price.

I ordered this on a promotion, and went in with mid level expectations. I typically use the Climate Control gel because I live in Florida and ya girl needs humidity protection, so I figured this mousse would give me a light hold that would last maybe a day.

Well it’s well into day 2 and my curls still look amazing! I used this mousse yesterday in addition to a leave in conditioner and that’s it. I am so surprised by the hold level of this mousse, it’s quite soft but I have great definition and spring.

I did have to use quite a bit of the product to coat my hair but I think that’s a price I’m willing to pay. Also, it smells wonderful in my opinion.

I like this product so far, however I think it could be better. The pictures I have posted are the products on my damp hair and 9-hours later, after taking a walk on the harbor under 70° weather. As you can see, even though my hair dried, it maintained the same texture with some bounce.

 My hair is a little bit soft but not soft soft. I feel like there was no frizz even walking for close to the harbor, literally steps away from the ocean. I would like for the product to have some shine and actually look like the hair is dried up (currently looks like it’s semi-wet).

I do not comb my hair so I just let it air dry with natural forming curls.

I bought a travel size of this a few months ago to see if it would be a better product for me than Advanced Climate Control Gel, which leaves a slight cast if used alone on my hair, and just bought the full size.

I have used this cream mixed with gel for windy days or extra definition with good results. I have also had satisfying results using this cream alone after a leave in conditioner. It responds well to second or third day refreshment with a little water or spray conditioner on my 2C/3A natural graying hair.

I have used this several times, and I am enjoying it. I have fine, wavy/curly, frizzy hair. This product is light, as it claims. Even though it is light, it still gives me a soft hold and some definition without being too producty.

I am using it as a one and done styler, but I bet some gel over it would give a nice result for those who can handle more products. My frizz does still pop out with this, but I diffuse. People have mentioned that this product has a strong scent.

It does, but that is something I love about it. I think it smells wonderful. I recommend this product to people with wavy fine hair.

I love this product. I have gone through at least 10 brands over the last 10 years looking for something that would leave my hair soft and enable me to restyle it the next day without it feeling like there was a lot of build up.

My hair still feels very clean. I use Ouidad styling products so this is a finishing spray – a final spritz to make sure the curls I worked so hard to put right where I wanted them will still be there 8 hours later.

My hair stays soft to the touch all day.

My favorite hair spray. I have curly (3b-3c) hair and use this before I begin diffusing to help set my hair! Just learned it put it on BEFORE diffusing and it has made a wonderful difference in lasting hair! Also, no build up which is great and softens up so by the end of the day, there’s no reminiscent of it.

Great for everyday use especially after refreshing curls.

Do not buy this product. And do not buy it from Ulta. I bought two cans of this. When I could get the spray nozzle to work, it made my hair both frizzy and sticky. But every time I tried to used the product the spray nozzle would jam.

I tried to return it to Ulta and they wouldn’t accept the return. I offered to do an exchange and they wouldn’t permit it even though they could view the purchase on my member card. They offered me $2.

I went home and threw it away. But thinking about it, that is all the spray is worth!.

Regardless of your hair type whether it be super curly or pin straight we all know what it’s like to use a hair gel that makes your hair crunchy. With very few gels out there that don’t do this it makes searching for the perfect product next to impossible, not to mention expensive.

But as of now I’ve found a hair gel that’s actually worth it! Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Touch-Up Gel cream truly understands my curls what they need. My hair is protected against frizz caused by humidity, curls are locked in, defined almost weightless! This finish is achieved without leaving my hair crunchy or tacky in any way.

You do not need to apply a large amount of this Featherlight Touch-Up Gel Cream to see results. I recommend starting with a dollop and begin working it through damp hair.

I’m fairly impressed with this product! For reference, I have 3A very fine curls with medium porosity and density. My biggest issue with my hair is FRIZZ especially on 2nd and 3rd day hair. Usually those days, I wet it and put it in a bun because it’s normally too unruly to leave loose.

However, if I used this after dampening my 2nd/3rd day hair, I can easily wear it loose and it’ll look beautiful! It takes my frizzies and actually reinvigorates my curls as if I had just washed it. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Sadly it makes my hair prone to even more knotting (especially if I sleep with this still in my hair), so I’d have to wash it pretty much that evening or the next morning.

Otherwise it’s a fantastic product if you have thinner hair.

I fell in love with this product and use it daily because of how well it works with my curly hair. It truly helps with frizz and dryness. After applying a little amount it makes my curls look nice and in shape.

I have dry hairs, so it always tend to have frizz naturally. I use the defining gel cream gel and balm during a week to keep my curls in a beautiful shape. I love the texture, not thick not thin, not greasy or sticky.

It is light and moisturizing. I also love the scent. These products are amazing and smell luxurious. Now all I use to treat my hairs is Ouidad hair products and I am happy with the results. I highly recommend these products and this brand!.

My girlfriend bought this product, but quickly realized it was not for her type of wavy hair but thought it would work for me! Yes it does! Lightweight, not sticky, leaves my hair soft and smelling great! Works well to tame the frizzies.

After washing my hair, I apply my leave-in conditioner and then put my hair in my Turbie Twist. After about 5 minutes, I take my hair out of my twist and then I apply about a nickel to quarter size of the Ouidad.

I do NOT comb or rake it through; I rub it all over my palms and then scrunch it onto my curly locks. This is just what I found works best for me. I tried raking it through and using it when my hair was still wet (after applying my leave in) and then putting it up in the twist, but I found applying it to my damp hair and scrunching it in produced the best result for me.

Yes, this gel smells absolutely amazing, but unlike many of the previous reviews it just did not perform on my shoulder length, coarse, curly, 3A hair type. As curly hair gals know, you either can use a gel or a cream and I need a gel.

So, I was hopeful yet I think gel IMO might be best for ladies with fine hair/thinner not thick coarse hair like mine. Whether air drying or drying at low temps with my diffuser I did get any type of curl whatsoever.

I did get some waves. I think my hair is just too heavy. It does smell delicious. It is a clear thin watery product that did not leave any cast. However, I will go back to LOMA since it has been the best product this far at achieving curls for my hair.

This is my favorite gel. I’ve bought it 4-5 bottles since June 2019! I tend to shy away from gels because I’m not a fan of the cast or how dry they make my fine, high porosity, 3b/3c hair. Normally, when I add gels to my hair, they instantly feel dry, but the texture of this Ouidad gel is so.

slimy? it’s easy to run my fingers through to distribute the product. For my best wash-n-go, I first apply DevaCurl Styling Cream and then add the Ouidad gel on top. I then use my Denman brush to separate and clump my curls.

For extra volume, I’ll defuse on medium heat until 80-90% dry. Once my hair is completely dry, I’ll coat my hands in a light oil and scrunch to break the light cast. My wash-n-go EASILY lasts a week.

I like it but don’t love. I have 3a & b curls and I just don’t think this does enough to define my hair BUT the volume I get with it is unreal. I did use the entire line when I got the volume so I’m not sure if it was just this product, but I think the fact that it doesn’t weigh down my hair was the reason for that volume.

I also don’t think it’s very moisturizing when compared to actual leave in conditioners. If you’re looking for a product that won’t weigh your curls down, this is good BUT if you have a whole lot of hair and need some definition, you’ll need to use a whole lot more of it.

This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet.

There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair.

It is very hydrating, so I can’t knock it down too much, but it is probably my least favorite ouidad product, which is saying a lot because I LOVE ouidad. Basically, just stick to the hydrating gel.

I really wanted to give this product a try but I unfortunately find it’s smell horrible. I’m one of those people with a keen sense of smell and will become nauseous if it doesn’t agree with me. That’s what happened with this product.

Is it really so difficult to create a signature scent that doesn’t smell like a bunch of unpleasant chemicals? This product may be the best but I’ll never know unless they update the scent.

The product promises to do what it promises to do and they “ain’t lying”!! I use this pomade mostly during the colder months when use the climate control gel and diffuse my hair. Once I’ve done that, I squeeze about a nickel size of the product into my palms, rub my hands together and grab my hair as if I’m going to place it into a ponytail, run my hands to the ends and just hold it there to soak up the product.

It works right away. You suddenly have baby smooth hair, no crunch, and the curls still look great, if not better! Love this product!!.

This product is the best one I have tried having kinky, frizzy hair for 70 years. Application takes time and patience but the results are worth it. Recently moving to Floridas weather conditions this hard working product offers added control to my hair.

Its pricey but for me worth the extra dollars.

I realize that this product is meant for curls, and I do have wavy/slightly curly hair, but I actually use this product after straightening! I found it by accident – I was visiting my mom (she has very curly hair) and used her not-so-great hair straightener which left me with frizz and flyaways.

So then I used her ouidad pomade and my hair looked so great that I bought the product for myself. I use a deva product when wearing my hair wavy/curly, but this stuff is great for keeping straight hair luxurious all day – great body/not flat, shiny, and frizz and flyaway free.

It works great down here in the Washington DC area too, where it is very humid. Therefore I think it would be perfect for everyone!.

I have very fine hair with a soft wave, but a lot of it. Most curl enhancing sprays are too heavy or drying for my hair time, which totally cancels out the fact that I am trying to care for my hair by letting it go natural and not heat style.

If you have hair like mine I would not bank on using this product every day and here’s why: Like some of the other reviewers with a hair type similar to mine I found this product was ineffective and left my hair greasy when used in combination with other hair products, like root spray or volumizing shampoos.

That makes sense, all these products leave behind a pretty heavy residue. I used this product with great results on the day each week I used a detoxifying shampoo to clear out all the build up. This product gives my hair a nice (albeit, not the tightest) wave without dry ends or crunch.

I also recommend for fine hair girls to skip the suggest “scrunch” step listed on the bottle. I find over-handling fine hair as it dries leads it to fall flat. Personally, I spray through my hair pretty liberally when still damp (but not wet), comb through and then just tousle the roots to give them lift and let the curl form naturally as it dries.

I’m always looking for something to control frizz and enhance curl. My hair is fine and wavy, more curly after washing and then tends to straighten out. I use this before my other products, after washing.

After my first use, my 11 year old daughter asked me why my hair looks different, and said it looks like Ramen noodles! It’s true. It really did kick the curls up a notch, and the curls seem to hold for most of the day.

I tried using it the day after washing, on dry hair, as I don’t wash every day, but it doesn’t seem to do much for me unless I put it on wet hair. Still a great product and I plan to continue using it along with my other products.

This is the best curling spray I’ve ever used. I am now 28, and have been searching for the perfect spray since high school. I assure you I’ve tried a lot. This is the first product that has given my wavy hair life.

I have type 2c hair. My hair looks healthy. I finally have beautiful, bouncy waves that aren’t greasy or crunchy. I have gone through 2 bottles of this so far. I will also mention that I put leave in conditioner in my hair after I shower before applying this.

Absolutely no issues with it drying my hair out, and my hair dries out easily.

I tried this gel for the first time and loved it. I already use the Heat and Humidity strong hold gel, so I wanted to try this one out. This gel has so much SLIP. I damp style my hair after the shower and this paired with the mousse made slippery ringlets in my hair.

The hold didn’t last very long, and I used plenty. I have frizzy hair so I need a strong hold to last for multiple days, this would be great in the winter time as an alternative to the strong hold in the summer.

I was looking to try something new for my curls and this product looked promising. I have really curly, dry course hair. I also highlight/ lowlight it every couple months. I also live in Florida so the humidity is brutal.

With that said this product did not work for my hair type. The gel has a nice smell. However my curls were frizzy and it left my hair feeling super dry. I will be returning this.

I love this gel. It gives my curls great definition, volume, and shine, and my hair looks great for 3-4 days without needing to touch up my curls. The only thing that would make it better for me would be a more tropical or fruity scent, but that’s completely personal preference.

The current scent is light and unobtrusive. It’s wonderful when paired with the Vital Curl mousse for volume.

Without a doubt my favorite conditioner. and I’ve tried them all. From Olaplex, Oribe, DevaCurl, Shu emura, and many other top brands. It is thick and a bit heavy so therefore you don’t need much. I was surprised to see the 1 star review and would suggest not recommended for fine hair since I think it would weigh it down.

And it is a conditioner so I wouldn’t expect it to help with your curls. the right styling product for your hair type would help you there. Good luck and I don’t work for Ouidad! ;-).

I bought this because I LOVE the hydrating gel in this line for my 3b/4a curls, but i really wish I hadn’t! It makes my hair feel and look drier, and even more difficult to detangle. It doesn’t have much slip either, it’s more of a creamy texture that foams? I have much better luck with Nexxus’ humectress conditioner that has more for a price similar to this 8 oz.

I dont know how Ouidad gets away with selling their products for so much. I get better results with Aussie Moist 3 minute miracle. Yes, a drug store brand. Why would I buy this over priced, salon product, when the ingredients aren’t any better or more natural? Will be returning this product, and will be sticking to drug store brands.

I don’t typically write reviews for products but I feel so strongly about this that I decided to write one. I felt like at first it did a great job of cleansing my scalp and getting rid of all the buildup.

However, after a while my hair felt super dry, stringy and like straw. I made sure to pair it with the conditioner and my hair still felt super dry and frizzy even while wet. I noticed that my hair started to fall out in clumps and I was developing scalp acne because of how much the shampoo/conditioner were clogging my pores.

Super disappointed with this line because I have a sensitive scalp and I feel like it completely ruined my hair texture. My hair feels limp, frizzy and dry after four days of not washing it when I can stretch it for seven.

Would not repurchase or recommend.

What can I say. I’m in love. My hair has always been very wavy in the back but the sides not as tight, would just end up looking fluffy. I could never get my hair to all be nice looking waves. I struggled to find the right product that didn’t leave my hair looking wet or gelled until I found this set.

WOW, smells great, huge improvement in my hair tightening into waves, especially with use of the other products altogether. I get the exact results that I want. Light, more consistent waves and the results last up until washing or good to bed.

I bought this shampoo and the conditioner two months ago, and have been washing with it twice per week. For reference, I have very tight coils and my hair is a little on the thin side. Over time, I’ve noticed my hair becoming VERY dry and frizzy, and I’m losing a lot more hair than usual when I wash.

Even letting the conditioner sit longer and deep conditioning once a week doesn’t seem to be helping. I’ll be switching to another wash routine immediately!.

This is one of my favorite gels for my fine, low porosity, type 2c-3b hair. It’s got a runny texture, easy to work through hair. The scent is light, smells great (to me), and doesn’t linger forever. This gel has just enough protein to add some bounce without being a “protein product.

” It reactivates with water, so it’s also great for refreshing. Ouidad is a bit pricey, but this gel is worth it for me.

This product was just okay for me. I only purchased because the climate control gel was sold out, so I figured I would give this gel a try. This gel is very light weight, but didn’t give my curls the hold and moisture I was looking for.

It left my hair pretty frizzy around my roots and extremely dry on the ends. I found myself having to use way more product than normal to get a better hold. Doesn’t create a good cast either.

I don’t blow dry nor do I dye my hair. I use hair creams and sometime flexible styling hair sprays not related to this brand. With that said, with this shampoo I sometimes have to lather twice to really feel like I fully removed any hair products, other than that, this shampoo does lather well & has a soft smell to it.

It’s winter here at the moment and this shampoo is not helping with my winter dandruff, which it’s okay, I scalp detox once a week & that helps for a while, not this brand either, but I’m mentioning it incase you think it helps moisturize your scalp.

As for conditioner, I use a different brand too & thanks because I like how my conditioner defines my curls but unfortunately this other brand conditioner does not add volume, niece I’m done with what I have, I’ll try the conditioner for Ouidad.

The shampoo performed well, but the scent is terrible. It smells like watermelon and is tacky. I like elevated products. This is far from that. I will spend the extra bucks to get the experience that comes with Ouai, Davines, R andCo from here on out.

I recently changed over to using Ouidad. I have unruly curly/wavy hair. I classify it as 2C. After just 1 week my curls are more defined and reduced frizz. I also changed how i comb out my hair with a wide tooth comb in the shower.

And I no longer use my Turbie Towel by twisting it up, I just ring out the hair to help keep the curl. So I know it isnt just the shampoo that is helping my curls. I have tried this method in the past with other shampoos/conditioners and nothing has helped my hair be as defined and less frizz as this product.

I highly recommend this shampoo/conditioner. Along with a wide tooth comb and ringing out the hair not twisting it up. *I copy and pasted my review from the conditioner*.

I have been searching forever. FOREVER. YEARS EVEN. For a shampoo and conditioner combo that would match my very fine curly dry locks. I mean dry damaged hair. I haven’t died it in about two years and I have been on the hunt for that long trying to bring back life to my dead head.

Let me tell you. With one wash this miracle combo did just that. Moisture brought my curl back, no more frizziness like my brother just rubbed a Ballon on the top of my head to create static and shock me just to watch my hair stand on end.

These products have saved me! I wore my hair straight for years because I didn’t know how to take care of my curls. My hair is fine and thin in the front, and thicker in the back. I watched tons of curly hair care videos on YouTube and tried lots of products for curly hair, but letting my naturally curly hair air dry always left me with fragile curls, frizz, and uneven texture all over my head.

A woman with curly hair recommended Ouidad to me, and it was life changing! Now I wash, dry, and use the climate control styling lotion and let my hair air dry, and I have beautiful curls and waves all over.

I really find this product to work for any hair kind , curly specially, control the curls shape and no matter how tight is the curls. If u have tight curls ur hair will feel amazing u curls will bounce back and forth and specially keep curls shape.

If u have wave hair is also will keep those waves beautiful and soft , will control frizzy wakes. Nice bounce wave you will get it. I recommend t this frizz control e en if u do t have curly or wave hair.

Cuz it will keep those waves in place and keeping bounce. Shiny and texture will look amazing. Smells delicious and u only use a littler tiny bit. Totally recommend this to you all.

Let me start by saying this product is pure gold for a curly headed 3b/3c hair type like me. This is one of the few leave in conditioners I have found that does not have coconut oil in it. Coconut oil for my hair dries it out, and my hair starts to repel water and products.

Making it hard for any of my products to penetrate my hair shaft. My hair would not grow for the longest time, until I stopped using coconut oil based products. It is so hard to find products that don’t contain coconut oil for curly hair.

I was so happy to see this was one of them, I was drawn to their key ingredients of Olive oil, Shea butter, Glycerin, and Green Tea extract. All these ingredients work very well in my hair, this is a heavy thick leave in consistency.

I wouldn’t think of it as like a whipped mousse texture. It’s more like a curling cream consistency. I don’t section my hair with this product because it’s not needed, I make sure after I brush my hair with the Ouidad reactivating mist that really helps give my curls definition btw, I flip my head over and use 4 dollops 1 per section of my head, the root, the upper mid shaft, the lower mid shaft, and the ends.

My hair is really long and thick so I have to do it this way, but you can apply this product in a way that works best for your hair. It is a leave in conditioner, but you can use it alone or with other products.

I read a review that said this product does not mix well with other products, that is partly true. I have tried mixing it with different brands of my other hair care products that I have and this product does not work well with them.

I have paired this product with Ouidad’s feather light cream and Stronger hold heat and humidity gel. It does work well with those, but honestly you can use this alone. It’s like a curl routine dream of a one and done.

I was so excited to try this product and it was such a disappointment. I have fine, 3b-c curly hair, low porosity. I had spent months getting my hair to a balanced state and after one use of this my curls went limp, I had so much frizz, and not only that the disgusting residue it left on my hair made me wash it out not even 24hrs later.

I wash my hair 2 times a week, 3 max! This style didn’t even last an hour as the day went on my hair looked worse and worse. I ended up putting it in a clip on day 1! My head got super itchy and I noticed so many flakes that I didn’t previously have.

Even after washing the product out my hair still feels heavy, itchy, and coated.

I love this product so far. I haven’t used it as a rinse out conditioner, just as a leave in. I also refresh with it (very very small amount mixed with water). I’ve seen other comments about the container.

they weren’t lying. You have to be very gentile with the top or it will break and then I’m not sure how you would get the product out. I thought it would be more like a mousse so the container would have made sense but it’s not, it’s a thick cream.

So maybe a revamp of the container is in order. All in all I do really like the product.
