20 Best Non Toxic Plug-In Air Freshener (2023 Updated)

I am so disappointed with Air Wick and this new “Smells Amazingly Natural”. That is so far from the truth. The new scent has been nauseating at best. Everyone that stepping into my house asked what that smell was.

Needless to say, we no longer buy Air Wick Scents. I’d say even worse than that, all these review on their own website express the same thing. I am so disappointed that there has been zero response from the “marketing team” whom I was told would get back to me.

I would hope that all these reviews would be enough to fix what they broke! It was not broke to begin with so Go back to the previous version which actually smelled like Lavender.

The new lavender and chamomile does not compare to the previous scent. I hardly ever write reviews but I feel strongly enough about the loss of the previous Lavender and Chamomile Air Freshener to take the time to write this.

There was a pleasant and non-cloying quality to the old Lavender and Chamomile that I really loved. I am very disappointed in the new scent and am curious why Air Wick felt the need to change the fragrance formula? I immediately noticed the difference and not in a good way.

I won’t be purchasing this fragrance anymore unless the old scent can be restored. The new scent is overtly sweet and not appealing to me.

This used to be a nice, pleasant fragrance. Now, it is one of the most toxic, unpleasant, disgusting, even nauseating scents you will ever experience. If you have a discerning sense of smell, you will not be able to keep this new fragrance in the diffuser for longer than three minutes, and even then, you may have caused a longer-lasting disaster than you bargained for.

The kicker is the new label on the box that says, “New! Smells Amazingly Natural!” Oh, my gosh, what a stretch. This takes the record for the most un-natural fragrance I have ever experienced. Think of an awful, concentrated cleaning fluid, combined with poisonous fireproofing chemicals, and this new fragrance might even be worse.

This is so bad, it had to be intentional. No one that wanted satisfied and/or repeat customers would EVER put out a product like this, especially after ALL the reviews are the worst possible. What an insult.

I will NEVER trust an Air Wick product again.

Sister gave me this brand a few months ago. I had always purchased BBWorks. I was never satisfied with their scents but I wasn’t aware of other products. I’m not savvy with the computer but I certainly learned quickly how to place an order to your fabulous company.

The scents are amazing. My only regret is not having been introduced to these products before this, but it’s better late than never. Love your products and will be your newest best friend. Your customer service is great and so prompt.

And most of all AMERICAN MADE. Not stuck on a barge waiting to be transported. The fragrance I’m using is a reminder that spring is just around the corner and the cold, wintertime will pass. Thanks to you and your team.

I love lavender. I love the 100% natural lavender scent sold by ScentFill, so I thought I would like this. Eww. I can’t smell the lavender, just an overwhelming strong cheap perfume smell. Nothing clean.

Nothing green. Tried to use this for a while to see if it would improve, but trying to let the wick mature did not help. I then tried to age it by setting it in a cabinet with the top off, did not help.

Be warned, this one is super strong, you need to use it in a large space or you will be overwhelmed. This scent actually scared me off ScentFill products for a while, but at this point I have used up my 100% lavender so I am going to brave another order.

I thought I’d never be able to have scented products in our home again after changing to all nontoxic *everything. * We moved into a home with a musty lingering smell despite all the cleaning and painting and changing carpets, I wanted something to make it feel fresher.

I know these are a healthy choice as we don’t get lung irritation or headaches; however, for peace of mind I’d love if this company would submit their ingredient list to EWG. I appreciate the ingredients being listed but most of us can’t really make sense of those words.

Also, I have mine plugged into a timer on my outlet to not run at night which helps it last a little longer (no yuky chemicals does mean the vial won’t last as long and won’t be as strong but I’m totally fine with that to have a nontoxic air freshener!) I haven’t loved all the smells but this one is a winner!!.

I absolutely love this scent. Not only does it leave a fresh scent in my home but it also makes it smell like everything’s been freshly cleaned. I have toddlers so plug-ins are so convenient for me. I love that I just have to plug them in and adjust the settings whenever necessary.

It saves me from having to constantly spray all day after diaper changes or when company’s coming over last minute. Bad smells are definitely one less thing to worry about since finding these!.

I love Glade refills for their scented oil plugs. Clean Linen will always be my holy grail scent everytime I purchase the refills. When buying the refills in a 3 pack they will last for a few weeks and it’s another product you can count on to keep any room in your house smelling good.

It is affordable, and most of the time if you look in your local paper they have coupons to help you save. Glade is also a brand I can always count on to have a multitude of scents to choose from. Glade never disappoints.

Clean linen has been one of my top scents from this line for many years. It’s is just evolving. Who doesn’t like the scent of nice sheets just done after drying in the sun. Well that is the feel I have and I plug these scents warmer in.

It’s inspiring. I am all about bringing up you mood in all ways. This is definitely one that is cost effective and can be just the humph you are missing in your house.

Great scent, i only use it on the 2nd setting, as it’s very strong. The adverbs blend nicely and make the entire room smell amazing. a scent of gain and then a sight scent of febreeze alternates. It’s perfect if you’re a dog owner.

Keeps the room and house smelling great!I have 2 of these plug ins. 1 in a back room dining area, and the other at the front of the hall near the entry. These 2 keep the entire first floor, including kitchen, living rm, hallway to the back dining rm all smelling fantastic.

Scent lasts a long time. I use 3 times a week and I’m on month 2 of the same ones. Definitely worth the money!.

Too strong even on the lowest setting! Family and I were practically gagging to the point that we ended up unplugging the febreeze plugin from the bathroom, and ventilating the rooms in the house in order to breathe better.

We purchased the amber scent for this btw. So choose a scent at your own risk, if you do decide that you want to buy one of these. Living in an apartment, I strongly feel that these would definitely be more suitable for larger homes/rooms instead of smaller ones.

I saw one of these at a friends house and was impressed with how great it smelled so i bought one for my house. The first one worked so well filling the room with the scent for days on end unlike those wallflower plug ins that are only good for like 3 days.

I now have a few of these going around my home and they smell great however on all of the units, the blue indicator light doesn’t work. They’ve all gone empty at least 3 times each and never has the light gone on.

I have to check each one so that’s misleading. Other than that, they work great.

I don’t usually take time to review products, but I rely on this one so frequently that I felt I had to share my experience with it. The Wood air freshener scent is a very natural, non-sweet, non-detergent, calming, interesting smelling air freshener.

Since it’s made by Febreeze, I recently had the courage to break away from my tried and true wood scent and try others in the same line, but bleh! Bamboo, Clean Breeze – the scratch and smell on the package smelled okay, but the long term result was intolerable.

After just a few hours, I had to get the other scents away from me. They literally gave me a headache! Wood is an air freshener scent for people who want to have a subtle, pleasant, kind of “comforting” smell in their living environment.

It’s as natural and quiet as the smell of lemon, though very different. It’s probably the only one I’ll get for life, unless the manufacturers of this air freshener brand create another one this unassuming.

I personally love febreze products in general as it’s my go to for home and car scents especially since it has the odor eliminator factor, febreze is the type of company that targets those who love scents that really fill up a room and again eliminates odor instead of barely smelling it which at that point makes no sense as to why you’re buying wall plugs.

My go to smells are paradise, sea spray, fresh, and bamboo. I went to the store and didn’t see any of those so I took a chance with forest as it smells different on the scratch and sniff but smelt better than the ember fragrance.

I plugged this bad boy in and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! It gives such a warm hug when you walk into the room, it hits nicely when you walk in, not overpowering and such a comforting scent with a hint of pine but not in the Christmas kind of way.

This scent has now been added to my favorites and I think this smell has made it to the top of the list!.

I have purchased SEVERAL Febreze plug-ins to use throughout my entire home, and I tend to theme certain rooms with different scents for fun! The Unstoppables Paradise scent has been one of my favorites so far.

I was hesitant in the beginning because the scratch and sniff portion didn’t quite give you the same effect that the plug-in does in action! But I do not regret my purchase, I enjoy plugging it in and leaving it alone until it alerts me that my oil is getting low! My only complaint would be that Febreze advertises that the scent will last up to 60 days on medium setting and that just unfortunately is not true.

It probably lasts 30-40 days MAX on the medium setting, and sometimes I have had issues with the warmer allowing the final remnants to be used and there has been times where I would have to throw away the remainder and refill with a new plug-in.

I’ve become a forever loyal consumer of AirWick Plug-in since summer 2009. My go to scent is Fresh Waters. Neutral. Crisp & Clean. A scent to be remembered when a newbie is in-store finding so many other options and unsure what to buy.

My friends have asked what I use that is memorable and makes such an impression. Fresh waters is the beginning scent. It can be added to , like layers, each room or area can be cohesive by building off of a base scent.

We love ScentFill so much! Last year we got rid of toxins in our home and switched to natural cleaners, skincare, etc. As a previous big spender on candles and wall plugins at B&BW, I was worried we’d never have a wonderful smelling home 24/7 again.

Natural candles don’t typically smell strong enough, and while we use essential oils some it’s just not quite the same and more “work. ” So when I discovered Scent Fill I was skeptical but so excited to try.

I usually get headaches and an overall ill feeling from traditional air fresheners. They would smell good at first but within minutes I start paying for it. I have no problems with the scent fill line and am so thankful I can enjoy their many pleasant scents with no side effects.

My family can finally enjoy good smells too whereas before I wouldn’t let them buy candles or other traditional products that made me feel sick. Some of the scent fill scents seem to be stronger than others.

I do wish some were a little stronger since I can barely smell them except when I am very close even on highest setting. The peppermint one is extremely strong which I am happy about as it can be smelt from many feet away.

The 100% natural scents are amazingly fresh smelling and they do not bother my asthma the way other plug in room fresheners do! I love the lavender vanilla for the bedroom at night to help calm and get a full night of rest.

The cherry almond is great for the family room and the apple blue clover is not quite like anything I’ve smelled before but is a very refreshing, fruity and pleasant. The citrus is great for the kitchen and smells like a fresh peeled orange.

Overall these are a great alternative to those chemical air fresheners that have awful ingredients. I will definitely purchase more in the future! The auto delivery will be great!.

This scent is rich and sensual. Vanilla is front and center but not your typical sweet and sugary vanilla. This is warm and musky, and exotic. Slightly masculine but not in a cologne way. It’s one of those fragrances you find yourself deeply inhaling when you walk in the room because you can’t get enough.

Love this one for the bedroom and recently tried it in the foyer and really like it there too. It’s similar to coconut sandalwood but this one is even better! Great throw on the lowest setting and lasts several weeks.

I’ve read the comments about it not being strong smelling. I think just the opposite! I have a 1700 sq ft home and every room smells. I had it plugged in to the entry but had to move it down the hallway because it was so strong.

Maybe it wears off a bit? I’m enjoying the scent though and ordering a few more different ones.

I’m loving this so far. The vanilla and pumpkin chai scent is amazing and it’s really not that strong. My animals like it and so does my family. The plug in is great but my one complaint is that I wish the plug rotated so I could plug these in more places.

I wish the scents like this were in the car clips too.

I absolutely LOVE the scent, the freshness and the longevity of this air freshener. Easy to use and has a great low profile so it can be placed in hallways and other areas without getting knocked off the wall.

I enjoy good smells at all time, this product is #1 for me. The smell stays, it light and airy, and it just gives off a pleasant aroma. If I could improve this product I would definitely maybe bring in a night or relax fragrance for the bedroom.

Some of the smells are very strong and even though they smell really good, I like peaceful calming smells in my bedroom, while I’m resting. Febreze One Plug Scented Oil Warmer.

Clean linen is a great non-offensive scented oil that I can put around the house and not feel like it will clash with anything. Usually it can smell a bit weird in the home if I use lavender scented products for the floor, citrus scented products for the table, and room deodorizer sprays in a variety of scents, just to have the plugins smell like something else altogether.

but clean linen works well in the main areas (read: outside of the bathrooms) to stay smelling fresh. You really do smell the difference when you leave for the day and come back to a ‘clean’ household that smells like laundry.

It’s a powdery fresh (but not overbearing) scent that has good projection without being cloying, and for someone like me who prefers to keep it simple, this is a nice dumb reach regardless of gender.

This scent of lavender is relaxing. It is a nice blend with peach and does not have an overpowering smell. The oil does get used up fast and is a bit more expensive to keep replacing. It does refresh the entire house upstairs because it is an oil.

It replaces the odours with a nice refreshing and relaxing smell.

These are definitely one of my favorite scents by Air Wick. They don’t give me a headache, like some Air fresheners do. Maybe because they are made with Natural Essential Oils. This scent in particular is actually very calming to me.

It is sweet, but not like a candy sweet. I love that they are compatible with any Air Wick Plug In, and you’re able to chose your fragrance strength on a level of 1-5. 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest fragrance strength.

Which I usually leave mine set to 3. I have a Plug In for each room, so my house stays smelling amazing! They last around a month, give or take, depending on which level setting you set it to. I would definitely recommend trying these!.

I really enjoy a great fresh smelling fragrance in my home. When company comes I want them to smell nothing but fresh clean scents. Doing alot of home cooking this wasn’t always possible until I discovered Air Wick Scented oils.

Now my home smells wonderful at all times. The scents are noticeable without being overwhelming. So many times I’ve had visitors to ask what the wonderful smell is in my home. Since finding Air Wick Scented Oils I’ll never go back to my old products.

You cant go wrong with any of Air Wicks scents but Caribbean Sweetgrass and Sandlewood is my family’s favorite scent. I definitely suggest others to try these. I promise you wont be disappointed.

The sweet smell with the infusion of sandalwood is magnificent. The container is very well crafted no leaks of the oil. I some how without noticing dropped it in the carpet and the next day I picked it up thinking I would have an oil stain.

There was not a stain but the scent was just as strong. I love these Air Wick oils and the Botanical Caribbean is a great choice.

This is one of my go to for scents. This plug in is perfect and it makes my house always smelling comfortably relaxing. Sadly, it doesn’t last a long time so I have to replace the plug relatively frequently, but I don’t mind.

I just adore the fragrance so much :’-) It’s a perfect combo of two fragrances to create a natural balance of blissful tranquility. The homey scent is beautiful because I love the combination of Sage and Citrus, just like floral petals from an Medieval garden on a Spring day.

Such a pleasant and refreshing scent throughout the whole house. Highly recommend !!!.

The product itself is attractive, for what it is. But the refills often spill as you change the cartridge and the cartridges are about 3x as expensive as comparable brands, which I wish I’d thought to check before buying.

It may actually be more economical for me to replace this with a different brand and donate the diffuser part.
