20 Best New Car Scent Air Freshener (2023 Updated)

This product is as close to the smell of real leather as I’ve found. If that’s what you like, then this is what you want. No, it won’t have the impact of multiple pine scent “Christmas Trees” hanging from your rear view mirror.

But what it will provide is the nice, smooth smell of leather. I put a saturated sponge in a plastic cup and place it under one of the vehicle’s front seats. With the windows closed, the nice smell of leather permeates the cabin.

It’s not the least bit overpowering; just the natural smell you’d expect from fine leather upholstery.

If you know what you want, you will love this stuff. This product is for people who have been exposed to the luxurious smell and feel of great old-world leather. I have had leather in cars, trucks, show cars, on furniture, and had harnesses and sport equipment made of good leather.

Bomber jackets and Cowboy boots, Johnston Murphy shoes years ago had that smell too. I love it. But unfortunately, that smell begins to fade long before the leather has worn out. I have been trying forever to keep leather goods smelling new.

Liquid Leather by Gliptone has the same smell, and does a great job conditioning the leather also. But it is P I C E Y to use a high quality conditioner more than needed just for the smell. Mind you, some people do not recognize the smell of good leather and may not want, need, or afford this or Liquid Leather.

One person I know only recognizes the smell of leather on the grill, and thought this product was a bit smelly. ! ! ! Go figure. Same person preferred vinyl over leather any day. A little of the Chemical Guys goes a long way and is far, far less expensive than anything else I have used.

My leather care bin reminds me of that commercial on TV which starts with the “Wrinkle Cream Graveyard”. I have tried everything, and some were close to modern leather smell, including that solvent/petroleum hint that lots of modern cheap imported leather exudes.

But this is the real thing. You will not be disappointed. Kirby Johnson.

Bought this to deodorise a leather sofa that smelled of smoke, cleaned the sofa with white vinegar and water then used this to deodorise the leAther and put back aeather smell. Unfortunately it didn’t smell of leather just a stale smell which afia few days disappeared and the cigarette smell returned.

Waste of money really. Sorry.

Cute little car fresheners loaded with a sweet beachy scent, although the scent is a bit overpowering when first opened. Like so much so, that you need windows down!! After a few days the scent mellows down and it’s a nice refreshing pleasantly sweet scent.

These jar style car fresheners last much longer than the cardboard style hanging scents, usually 2-3 months. The jar styles are visually more appealing than the cardboard style, as well. The scent fades as time passes but remains nice till totally gone.

I love that Yankee has so many scents a available, I love to switch them up with the seasons. Bahama Breeze is a great summer time scent!.

All that hype about Yankee candle is true. Well I never believed in car air freshener candles. Two reasons , I have kids I keep my gym shoes and clothes in car So you can guess why my car stinks so much.

I have have bought heavy frangranced perfumes to get rid of odors but it has affected my health. I got this Yankee as a gift and I was like why not give it a try. Well these are the things I notice 1.

Car doesn’t stick as much as it used 2. Opening window for a few sec is enough to get rid of any existing slight odor 3. Not a heavy fragrance that causes headache 4. Lasts longer than spray or the ones that attached to vent What more can you ask for.

I think this is probably my favorite scent ever. I can ALWAYS appreciate this scent. Yankee candle does an excellent job here and I know just about everybody does a lavender candle but this one is such a delight.

I would absolutely recommend. Its a fresh take on regular lavender and I already love regular lavender. You don’t lose anything from the citrus either which is great.

I really enjoy this smelling air freshener it’s fresh ! It is strong and it lasts I use this brand in my car my home and on the fabric just to freshen things up they do so many cool scents as well !! Pricey but worth it.

I bought this air freshener around Christmas for myself, and used it thinking it was an excellent idea, but it wasn’t. At first my car did smell good, but soon after it started smelling sour like vinegar.

My girlfriend also used this exact freshener later, and soon enough her car started smelling like vinegar. I replaced my cabin air filter, and still have a hint of vinegar smell inside of my vehicle.

I drive a 19 mustang, and she drives a Malibu, so I have no idea as to why it made our vehicles smell like vinegar.

Was so excited to use Meguiar’s Car Air Refresher today and did everything as per the simple instruction on the package. However, when i pushed the cap and trigger no mist was coming out, just C2O. I stopped and re-triggered\pushed more times – same thing.

Then I shaked the can and mist started coming out but just for seconds then C2O only again. I just left this can inside the car as is and found that C2O was gone in less then 10 min, but a lot of scent fluid left inside the can.

Finally, i found that dashboard was full of oily small spots after drops, i tried to remove them with no success so far. So I got a defective one, wasted money and got cosmetic issue.

Fragrance is very strong and recommend you open windows after treatment if your sensitive to smells. I don’t do that and just put up with the string smell. But deodorises AC and fragrance lasts even when you get used to it, others will comment on the fresh car smell.

Probably not exactly like a new car smell but definitely not floral or vanilla. Good product and continue to use.

First time buying and ima keep buying works great now my car smells fresh every morning

I love the 2 different scents…smell is long lasting and product is still pretty full!!

I made a mess in my car after a long night of bing drinking microbrews. My car really stank the next day. So I decided to buy this product, it worked good and I was able to use it on another older vehicle that had old vehicle smell.

Used it on three occasions from one can and I think I can squeeze another spray into my vehicle before I throw it away as empty.

Had to return this product and purchase another brand. The spray valve would not work properly and even came off. Also it was supposed to be a new car scent. It is not! I couldn’t tolerate the smell.

This stuff nukes odors like no other freshener, including Lysol. I’ve read some reviews saying people don’t like the smell, but I actually kind of like it. It’s not fake smelling or some of the other common scented ones.

Used in the car and also the house to combat funky smells.

The little joe caught my eye and was purchased because the young lady at the counter helped me by reading the computer in my car. it was a way of saying thank you for aiding me with my car problem. and my car smells better now.

Every time I look at Joe I remember the grate service I received.

Great smell kinda like a fresh out of the shower smell / clean clothes smell. Actually lasts a long time and easy to use literally just clips on a vent.

Scent: Dragon Fruit, pretty, fresh floral scent Color: magenta Measures 4 3/4″ long x 2 3/4″ wide. Three (3) were included in the single pack. Elastic hanging string measures 3 1/2″ long (so 7″ in total).

You can easily unknot and adjust the length. Hanging from the rearview mirror, the tree did not obstruct any views. The instructions say to leave the plastic cover on the tree. There is a V shape dotted line at the top of the outer plastic bag.

Cut along the V to hang for maximum scent lasting. The car smelled beautiful for a good week. In the other car, we did not leave on the plastic cover because we did not like the look. So, without the plastic, initially, the smell is strong.

However, after about 2 days, we didn’t notice the scent any longer. Instead of hanging one, we placed three around the car (with the plastic on) to see how long the smell lasted. We put one in the glove box, one under the driver’s seat, and one in the trunk.

The smell lasted longer. We especially noticed after the car was parked in the sunshine at the grocery store. Maybe the interior heat helped refresh the scent. In addition to car use, another use for this is refreshing a closet (worked well), in a care pkg from home for a deployment bunk, inside a trunk that holds a bunch of blankets and sleeping bags.

I am absolutely obsessed with the dragon fruit Little Trees air fresheners. They made my average smelling car smell like a paradise. I have never smelled an air freshener that smells this amazing. And I am obsessed with the cute tree shape and beautiful fuchsia color.

They are really easy to hang up too because they come with a string. Three fresheners come in the pack so I was able to put one in each of my cars. I picked up a friend yesterday to give her a ride to the airport and as soon as she got in she commented on how amazing my car smelled.

I plan to buy more of these for myself but also for my mother in law as I know she will love the scent too. I highly recommend trying these out. They smell so good and are cute too!.

I absolutely love Little Trees Air Fresheners. Maybe it’s nostalgia of when my dad used to buy them or maybe it’s because they always smell awesome. I got the dragon fruit fragrance this time and it smells good enough to eat (Please don’t eat them! They’re not made for consumption or some ridiculous social media challenge).

This comes in a 3-pack and are individually packed. They usually last 30-days if not longer and can be placed almost anywhere. I’ve placed one in my car, hanging from my windshield wiper lever, and another one near my cats’ litter box.

As always, they have been doing the job keeping everything fresh smelling.

At first I was skeptical about having a air freshener that is a “NEW Car Scent”. What does that even mean? Does it mean it will smell like how your car smells when you first buy it? I have never looked into it, but I have had people tell me that the “New Car” smell you smell when you buy a new car is the seats and plastic in the car, but another person has told me dealers sprays a fragrant in the car to make it smell like a “New Car”.

Maybe this is what will bring back that old memory of a “New Car” aroma. I open the package and took a whiff. A little confused, but certain that it does not smell like the “Brand New Car” smell you smell when you first purchase a new car.

Although not what I have expected, it actually has a quite pleasant smell. Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to scents. I compare it to other fragrances that smells like of the “ocean” or “waterfall” scent.

I do find a small chemical scent which was a little off putting, but you only smell it if you have it really close to your face. I left it in the car overnight and the next morning when I got it, the whole car was filled with the “New Car” aroma.

First few days was very strong and the scent slowly diminished which I think is normal. It lasted for several weeks. I definitely do not mind smelling this every time I drive. The smell is pleasant and nice.

These air fresheners come in a pack of three. They are each tree shaped, the traditional normal air freshener shape. These are approximately 6 inches tall, they come with a thread to hang them from your mirror.

Scent is strong if you open the plastic package up all of the way when you first receive them. Follow the directions on the back of the package for opening. There is little slits that make it easy to rip open the plastic package.

Open the package just a little bit and have the tip of the air freshener hanging out. Then as time goes by you slowly pull the air freshener up a little bit at a time so that it does not overpower your vehicle with its scent.

I used the new car smell and it’s personally my favorite. Helps your vehicle smell new and fresh especially when you’re driving around a soccer team full of kids with sweaty bodies and stinky feet. Other scents that are available for this air freshener is Royal Pine, Caribbean Colada, Coconut, Bayside Breeze, Summer linen, Vanillaroma, Cherry Blossom Honey, Rainforest Mist, Black Ice and Strawberry.

The smell of this product is beyond amazing! I have finally found a product that really works well. I usually spray it inside the air vents of the vehicle, and the smell lasts a while (maybe an hour or so).

For the price, it’s really worth the money. I have also sprayed it on the fabric ceiling of my car, and find that lasts longer. I often do two sprays when I leave the vehicle, and the next morning I can still smell it as long as the vehicle isn’t used.

Like anything, as soon as you turn on the air flow or open the windows, it does dissipate quickly, but it does an amazing job masking foul odours (I am a smoker LOL). If I spray it a few minutes before a passenger gets in the car, they cannot smell cigarettes, and only smell this spray.

I am going to buy a little tree air freshener (the cardboard tree) and hang it in my car, and then spray this on that material to have the smell last longer. This is really good stuff and everyone seems to love the smell.

And for the price, I think this bottle will last me a few months with daily usage! Great value. Great smell. Very effective.

I received this about a week ago. here in Buckeye, Arizona. I’m giving this review after about 2 weeks of using it occasionally in my truck. bathroom area and kitchen. just to kind of feel out the residual effects of using it.

I really like the use in my truck and seems to do a great job of eliminating any odor forming bugs/bacteria. etc. This one is “new car” and now looking at odor eliminator called Air Wash. It is about 1/2 the cost of the other more expensive brands.

I look at active ingredients to do apples-apples comparisons.

Doesn’t give any smell and falls off from the place very easily. Will not recommend buying this product.

I had just a lingering odor, not sure of the origin, that invaded my Jeep. I hung one of these from the vent and in a day or so, no more odor. The new car scent was a little sweet smelling at first, but definably got better shortly.

you cant smell these if you’re over 6 inches away, no matter how high you have your cars fan on. they smell amazing in the package though

So I drive a Ford escape, it’s not huge, but the cabin is fairly small. This comes as a 4 pack, and it says it should last 2 weeks roughly. I only used 2 to start with, and it does come in a resealable bag.

So I clipped on on my dash vent and another on the vent to the back seats. You can definitely smell it when you open the doors and get in. It isn’t exactly the smell of strawberry, but it is a fruity smell.

I like them. Very easy to use, you basically just slip it on to the vent grid. Nothing to peel, no glue, nothing like that. It just slides on. I like how simple of a product it is. I don’t like a bunch of stuff hanging off my mirror, so these fit the bill for me.

As easy as they are to use, I’ll get them again, probably in a different scent though. They are black so you don’t even notice them being on the vent. Pretty cool lol product like I said, a different smell would be better imo.

It just doesn’t smell strawberry to me. I enjoy my car not smelling like food, since I door dash. So that’s a plus too. I’d definitely recommend this one, especially for those who like a “clean cabin” look.

Idk where I put the one on my dash vent, it’s kinda a place it and forget it deal. Lol definitely go get some. Would make a nice gift for a new car owner or a stocking stuffer. I could see me making a gift of items for someone who just got their car and putting this or a few of them in with it.

If you do that kinda thing. I don’t think you could make practical use of this in a home. Maybe a closet. Better to keep in the car.

I had been so anxious to try New Car Scent for sometime now, because I read that this was one of Little Trees’ most popular scents. I opened it my hopes of a pleasant scent was SHATTERED. This smells horrible! It smells like an overpowering scent that is used to hide something that’s rotting.

My first thought was this was the exact product the killer in the movie “Seven” used to cover up the still-alive man in the bed. Oooh no indeed, never again!.

This one i have been obsessed with! Another one i love is true north. Both smell like a mens fragrance! I find these at my local walmart or target. These car fresheners last a little while, not as long as I would like, but i suck it in as long as it lasts.

If this came in a room freshener i would spray it all over, it’s that good! These are budget friendly priced , and good quality. Has been around for a very long time ! If you want your car smelling like a mans fragrance, i highly recommend this one or true north !.

Horrible smell that last forever in your car after you take it out! I’ve heard of people loving this scent but it’s not great and super powerful. If you are hiding a dead body in your car, you definitely could cover the smell up with this! If you like the scent then this would be great for you as it does last a long time and is made well for only a dollar plus!.

Immediately I opened my front door, that desert jasmine smell put a big smile on my face, you really feel home and makes you miss your home when you are not home. Yeah, it takes awhile to start smelling around, like 2 days.

If you have an odor that needs covered. This is the spray. Or just need a really good smelling spray. This is the one. One single pump will cover a whole bathroom, 2 will do a kitchen. 1 will cover a car for days.

Little Trees is probably the easiest car freshener brand to find and this scent is a classic but even though it’s super affordable and easy to find, I’d rather spend a few extra dollars on something that will actually last! The scent disappears in 1 day and then all you have is a black tree hanging on your rearview mirror.

All though I love the scent, it’s not worth it for me!.

Product performed exactly as intended and I used the instructions to re-fresh my truck. My only complaint with the product is that even though it did work the scent did not last long. Would have been better off just buying a standard air freshener for the truck.

When i got this i opened it in the house and after reading the directions i placed one in the kitchen just to try it out. I realized that it is one of those car scents that is activated by the movement of the fan, so while i was getting ready i placed one in the car.

Mind you it was -15 out so i was not expecting it to work at all. Most don’t work in low temps nevermind negative temps. With the car warming up i did what i had to and within the 5 minutes time i went out to the car, i opened the door and was hit in the face by this sweet smell of what could only be described as blood orange.

My first instinct was just wonderful i am going to choke from how strong it was, or sneeze my brains out. I was surprised when i sat in the car that it wasn’t as over powering as i had thought, and the smell seemed to mellow out after the first time i smelled it.

I have to say this is the first time i have used anything remotely like this. i had a set of ones that looked like tooth picks in the car but they never ever let off a scent! My car is a car that is a smokers car.

So you know getting any scent of that out is horrible! Add in dog smell and of course a puppy peed in my back seat and you have a mess that you can smell no matter what! Except now all i smell is the scent of blood oranges.

Not sure if that was what febreeze had in mind for this but it is not a nasty smell at all! I am happy i can’t smell the puppy pee even though i have washed the seat many times or that nasty lingering cig smell either! If i didn’t see the dog hair all over i would have thought someone took my car to the car wash! I am thinking i need to get more of these for the summer time! Long time use I am not sure of I am hoping the scent doesn’t fade after 3 weeks and it stays smelling like blood oranges.

This was an amazing scent but I do wonder how it will be come summer time when the car is extremely hot. Will the scent be over powering, will it even work in a dark car? If now is any indication of how well this works, then I am happy to say my car is now a febreeze car! I welcome summer full force.

I’m actually more of a unisex with a hint of subtle creamy sweetness Air Freshener vibe type of girl. ( example black ice cream with a vanilla mix) But I actually always keep a few of these in my car compartment.

Reminds me of “Home” and growing up in California. My Mom always bought this scent in several different Febreeze products, and I always remember when she was spraying the rooms- and how she would always stop mid spray to take in the scent.

Lol I’m sure she still uses it. It’s feminine and tropical smelling. Really crowd pleasing and unlikely to be offensive to others. Also- it’s Febreeze, so it actually does make the air smell lifted and renewed, not piled on top of existing scents like too many other brands tend to do.

Ick. One of the Car fresheners lasts a good 6 weeks. Higher than the average brand. so it’s good quality! Febreeze offers this scent in quite a few different products too. I. E air freshener, Room spray, Candles, and last I checked I believe they also offer wax cubes!.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I recently installed this clip to my car vent and I was surprised at how easy it was. The instructions were clear which definitely helped.

I like that it doesn’t start to activate until you “click” it into place. Another great feature I love is that you can adjust the level of fragrance you’d like. I dont like strong smells so I wouldn’t wont it turned up at the highest setting when using my vent so love that I can adjust it when needed.

I did try it turned all the way up/open and it doesn’t over power you. The Berry scent is amazing, I love fresh fruits, and strawberries and blueberries are some of my favorites. It reminds me of summertime.

The package was easy to open and still have it where the other one isn’t going to fall out, I like that. It says these last 40 days each, so I do think that the value is there with this two pack. But, I think the price point could be better, lets say if it was a 3 pack.

Purchased recently. Big fan of Yankee candles. This product did not live up to expectations and certainly not worth the price synonymous with a premium brand. Hugely dissapointing. Not worth the money.
