20 Best Nail Polish Remover Without Acetone (2023 Updated)

I’m really impressed with this stuff. however, I was annoyed when I received it and the bottle clearly stated it contains acetone. I was specifically trying to find a nail polish remover without acetone, and I feel like they purposefully used another word for acetone in the ingredients so that people wouldn’t realize.

BUT, that issue aside, this stuff works great. It removed my Color Street glitter strips very easily, whereas with other remover I was scrubbing and scrubbing until my arms were sore to get that stuff off.

With this, I just held the cotton ball with the remover on the nail for a few seconds and then wiped the polish away. Super easy and the smell of this is actually nice, unlike most removers. I also like the bottle design where you press the cotton ball down on the top instead of having to tip the bottle upside down.

This didn’t make my nails feel dry or stripped- it actually made my nails SO smooth and nice. Definitely recommend if you’re okay with using acetone products.

So I’ve gone through quite a few brands of nail polish remover in my life and never really felt any did the job like acetone does. Of course acetone damages your nails but I felt like it was the only thing that really removed polish without having to use half the bottle every manicure.

I was skeptical of this because I’ve never spent more than 5 bucks on nail polish remover and use whatever drug store brand, but I’m glad I bought this. It’s definitely a splurge but this removes polish quickly without over drying my cuticles.

I don’t know if it strengthens the nails but I do love using this. Highly recommend.

This Zoya nail polish remover takes off EVERYTHING you can polish with and by that I mean glittery nail polish just swipes right off. It doesn’t dry out my cuticles or make my nail beds feel weird. I love this product – however – the lid is temperamental.

Some days it will pump the product onto my cotton round, other days I have to remove the lid to use it. Could be worse, the product inside the bottle is very good so I’m willing to forgive the lid issue.

The smell doesn’t really bother me because I use a Dyson fan/hepafilter all the time so smells are never an issue.

Miracle Fusion Nail Polish Remover works amazingly well on removing 2 layers of Butter London mink grey polish. Yes, it’s expensive at $9. 96 (subscribe and save price) through Amazon for 6 Oz…. But, I only used one cotton round of remover to take off the polish instead of 3+ with my normal brand so it will last longer.

Big bonus it really does moisturize your nails! Did not dry them out like an acetone product. Also it’s cruelty free which is important to me. The smell is alright not too strong. I’m very happy 😃 I tried this highly recommend! #nailcare.

This stuff is like magic! I use approx 2 TBS in a small baggie and put that baggy in a bowl of warm water. I stick my fingers down in the baggie and wriggle them around for about a minute and the nail polish just falls off.

It is very effective at removing nail polish and my Colorstreet nail strips, regular, glitter, gel and everything else in between. I especially love that it doesn’t contain acetone which can be especially drying to my nails and skin around my nails.

The smell is great too. It leaves my nails feeling nourished and healthy rather than stinky, crusty and dry. The only reason it lost a star is the price is kinda steep. It is worth the extra cost and while I can afford it, I’ll pay it.

I do wish it was more budget friendly though. I recommend this product.

I love gel manicures but hate how the nail salon techs are so rough and abrasive when removing the gel polish on me, no matter how many times I ask they’re all rough and use the nail tools to scrape off the gel and leave my nails damaged and extremely brittle.

I finally found this polish remover at my local Walmart and decided to pick it up to try removing gel on my own. I even purchased those nail clips to hold down the cotton ball soaked in this remover.

After two attempts, I still have gel polish on the tips of my nails and will need to go a third soak. Maybe I’m not letting them soak enough? (I did 5 mins on each nail) but at least I haven’t damaged my nails the way the salon has.

I’m truly impressed by this polish remover! I’m a nail artist so I’ve used a lot of different kinds of removers and usually they’re all about the same and they all stink and give me a headache. But this actually smells amazing! It reminds me of a tropical island lol and it works great! This is now the only kind of remover I will use! No more acetone headaches 🙌 now I’ll close my eyes and pretend to be on an island lol it’s coconut scented btw lol.

Used this to get my dip nails off. I had to sit and soak alot longer then I would have thought but that being said it did its job. The only improvement would be the soak time. Big Pro is that it’s super affordable I purchased at Walmart for less then $4.

Oh oh another pro I almost forgot the smell isn’t too strong cause my clumsy self spilled half the bottle on my carpet and it didn’t linger in the air I soaked as much up with towels and it was fine! All in all I would recommend if your need something immediately.

I stopped wearing polish in the last few years – every type of polish and remover was just thrashing my nails. They would dry my nails out bad. I tried this new Nailtopia nail polish and this remover and WOW – what a difference! This remover does not dry out my nails or cuticles – the whole line of Nailtopia is just fabulous – I’m so glad I can now buy a better brand that is gentle on my cuticles and nails with natural ingredients.

This is great polish remover. However, when I received it the bottle was less than 2/3 full. Don’t be fooled by the FULL bottle you are seeing. It did not leak in the packaging so, therefore, it was sent to me that way.

I did contact member services but she was not too concerned about my issue. She offered me a return and replacement but , again, more work for me. No Thanks.

This is my first non-acetone remover I’ve used and loved! I know I’ve tried other removers and they haven’t worked at all. This removes my polish effectively and doesn’t leave my skin extremely dry. Compared to another remover I use, the scent is strong so I do suggest having a fan on or having a window open! Overall, I’ve enjoyed it!.

I just used this to take off regular polish with zero inclusions and it was awful. I will say it does not have any scent, which is the only positive. The remover is excessively oily and makes it difficult to hold the remover pad, it just kept sliding out of my fingers.

The oil also travels all over your hands because it is just so greasy. It took forever to actually remove the polish and I still had to back over it with cotton swabs at the end. I have never experienced anything like this with any other remover.

The price is beyond expensive to deal with this much of a headache. I am returning this and have zero reason to recommend it. I do really like this brand’s mail polish, bit definitely not the remover.

I love this stuff! I’m an avid DIY polish addict and I change colors often. Historically used acetone but my nails were getting dried out and splitting. Got this and was skeptical it would work. I was pleasantly surprised.

Polish comes off w a little pressure and one cotton ball is all I need to use (to remove base coat, 2 coats of polish and top coat). I’d have to use 4 balls w acetone. It will leave your nails oily but I like that bit of moisture.

It’s pricey and a small bottle but a little goes a long way. It smells good too. My nails are healthier after using this for 2 weeks so far. Love love love!.

I really like the formula, actually removes the polish relatively quick and I don’t feel a sting on my skin as I usually do with pure acetone. Also it wasn’t drying at all! One odd thing, I was removing regular nail polish on top of my gel overlay.

And the nail polish remover actually was able to remove my gel polish?! The top coat and base case coat of my gel overlay! It doesn’t have acetone but I think there’s some chemical compound that can interact with gel products? Super strange haha To finish off, I really like this polish remover! Highly recommend !.

In the past few months I’ve been painting my fingernails on a regular basis. Well most nail polishes now days are gel based. Went I went to remove a light blue polish I was wearing, with a regular nail polish remover, I had to soak the polish.

And even after soaking I had to seriously scrub this polish off. I knew the remover I was using was only a few months old, but I was in shock that the polish didn’t come off easily at all. So later that day I went to Walmart began looking at the nail polish remover and found that there was a polish remover for gel nail polish.

So of course I purchased , which states on the bottle “Removes UV Gel”. As soon as I got home I put a little bit of the remover on a cotton ball the polish came off with ease. I would recommend this product to others.

I love the smell. I know. you’re probley thinking I’m a nut. This stuff has a baby powder scent to it though without the harsh chemical scent. Strength shield so it prevents your nails from thinning becoming brittle.

I purchased it from Walmart and it cost under $3. The cap is wide and easy to twist off – which is a plus for me. It was so easy to remove my gel polish with hardly any effort using this and a cotton ball.

I have no complaints I do highly recommend this product.

This is the best nail polish remover I’ve ever used. It smells amazing, just dab some on a cotton round and hold to the nail for about 20 seconds and rub. It works so great, I’ve used some hard-to-remove polish that comes right off with this.

I love it, I’ll never use anything else. It is also Made in the USA, CRUELTY-FREE, and non toxic. The presentation is nice, the only complaint I would have would be that I would’ve like more colorful flowers in mine–but this is just about the presentation, the effectiveness is fantastic.

Having it look pretty sitting on my counter is just a bonus.

I really likes this product the 1 time I was able to use it before the glass bottle fell from a shelf onto my wood floor and shattered everywhere. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that. I did like that this came in glass because plastic is bad for the environment.

Besides the glass bottle with the fake flowers inside felt like a luxury item. But it’s pointless if I can’t hold onto the bottle for long. Seriously debating whether to spend the money on another bottle of this or just get the $1.

My favourite nail polish remover is this OPI acetone free one because it takes off nail polish really fast without having the need rub the nail back and forth a million times to try to get the nail polish off.

With OPI it is not a task. It comes off fast. It is also acetone-free so it won’t dissolve or damage acrylics nails, nail tips, or soak-off nails. It does contain aloe vera which moisturises the nail and cuticle so that is always an added bonus.

It does however have the typical nail polish remover smell but that doesn’t really bother me because it works fast so I’m not smelling it for very long.

This remover works really quickly and takes off multiple layers of nail varnish in one quick wipe. HOWEVER the smell is just overwhelming- it’s the strongest smelling remover I’ve ever used!! I put my used cotton pads in my bathroom bin and the smell was so strong on them even still the next day! My nails felt the little ‘dry’ after using this nail varnish remover.

Ultimately I’m going to keep it for when I’m wearing stubborn to remove glitter nail varnish (I have a feeling it’s more than up to the job!) but it wont be my go to every day nail varnish remover because it is a little drying and the smell is overwhelming.

For the price and from such a classic nail brand I was a little disappointed.

OPI’s non acetone remover is a good product to remove polish without damaging your cuticles an nails. I’d recommend this to everyone that has very fragile nails. I prefer it more than the other non acetones.

Ok I don’t ever write reviews,but this product completely shocked me. I was extremely skeptical when I seen it, I even watched the video and still thought no way does this work like that. I needed a “travel friendly” nail polish remover for an upcoming trip and found theses online at Target, they were, what I thought were a little pricey ($4.

99 for a box of 5) but it’s what I was looking for and thought I would try them. When I first opened the package it felt dry and I thought great there have dried out, but then I felt it a little more and it was kind of oily so I tried it.

To my amazement it stated taking my polish right off, even the 4 nails that I had glitter polish on! With just the 1 cloth I took the polish off of both my fingernails AND toenails! There was also no harsh smell, it actually didn’t smell at all and normally I use acetone based polish remover ( glitter polish is hard to get off) and would have used probably 7-8 cotton balls.

I am very impressed with these polish removal wipes. They are great for on the go, but for me I think a little expensive for everyday use, but will definitely buy them again!.

This remover is great in that it has no odor like typical removers. I also like that it’s very gentle and doesn’t dry out my nails like most other removers I’ve tried. However there is a downside. Because it’s so gentle it takes much longer to actually remove your polish.

You have to let the cloth sit on your nails for a bit and then really rub it across the nails and scrub. I will continue to use it because for me the pros outweigh the cons, but some may be turned off by having to wait longer and work harder to get their polish off.

It’s certainly worth a try if you hate the strong smell and irritating dryness that results from using typical nail polish remover.

I purchased this in a 10 pack when I was pregnant with my last pregnancy. I used it a couple of times and loved it. I tried it with the same brand’s nail polishes. I love that it’s safe for pregnancy and doesn’t have the acetone smell that made me super nauseous.

This takes a full burgundy mani off in seconds. The manicure had base and top coat which usually requires a lot of scrubbing but this took everything off without leaving a stain. However my nails felt pretty dry once everything was taken off due to the strength of the remover which is fine, just apply cuticle oil.

My one gripe is the SMELL. It’s a very strong, unpleasant sharp smell, stronger than usual acetone. But it’s up to you. If you want to remove polish in seconds and you can stand a headache inducing smell, this is for you.

I had to re-paint three nails and this remover worked like a charm. No other nails were smudged and my nail bed looked like it had been primed – no oily film, dry peeling nails etc. I loved it so much I just ordered the set (and pump top).

This is by far the best remover I’ve ever used. No harsh odor, quick clean removal- could not ask for more. I usually transfer remover to a pump bottle, but for the first time I didn’t have to – just perfect.

This stuff works great, because of the acetone. I prefer to use acetone nail polish removers any time I need to remove polish. The acetone can be drying to the skin so wash and moisturize after use. Beware this product as with any acetone product does have strong fumes/odor.

I needed to soak my nails to get the gel polish off. I used a regular nail file to roughen the surface of the polish, then I wet cotton, placed it on the nail, and wrapped the tip of the finger in foil.

I needed to leave it for at least 20 minutes, then swiped with the cotton when I took off the wrapping. About 90% of the polish came off then. A few nails I had to do twice. I did not need to use a dremel.

The advantage is I now get to rest my nails for a while but that’s not due to this product but due to the pandemic and businesses being closed. I would use this again if needed but I hope that I can go back to my regular salon soon.

I do my own nails and I am using this brand at the moment. It works well with removing polish and soaking off acrylic. It is very easy to apply with a cotton ball, but the smell is strong. I would definitely recommend this product.

These are awesome!!! These super soaked pads take off every bit of polish, glitter and all! The little rectangle may seem like a rip off but let me tell you, that tiny rectangle will do all ten nails and then some.

The only time you may want two, is when you have super dark polish on. I’m not saying the one won’t do it, but the dark polish remnants gets all over your fingers and your removing it. The second pad is good just to tidy things up.

Love love love. I hate the messiness of a bottle of remover and I usually only wear in a few coats not gel or regular polish but I am confident this would be just as brilliant. Also love especially to keep in a makeup bag when I travel in case paint chips or I need to removed and change a color.

I tried to switch to the but it was like a forearm workout every time just to take off one hand and also it ruined a piece of furniture and an article of clothing of mine 🙁 so I am back to this. I think my only issue is my cuticles and the skin around my nails get dry but I just make sure to hydrate extra extra after I am done.

Will be back to using these in the future that one little wipe did both hands with lots of product to spare!.

This is not good at all. It didn’t take off all the polish and by the time I got to my second finger it stopped removing polish. The pad inside is quite small and thick. Like other nail polish removers with no acetone, it is very oil and leaves a residue on your fingers.

I think this would only work on thin layers of polish maybe or maybe if you just did 1 or 2 coats if clear polish. Do not recommend. I recommend you get the Ella+Mila no acetone polish remover wipes.

Amazing staff. It does take a bit longer to remove polish, but its worth the wait. It hydrates cuticles as well, doesnt smear colors around the nail skin. It is oily, so wash hands after use or wipe nails with alcohol before applying another polish.

Doesn’t have strong, bad smell like acetone. My friend tried it and bought the bottle for herself. I would definitely continue buying it.

This is a very good alternative to acetone nail polish remover. I know from experience that it works on nail lacquer/polish but I cannot confirm if it works on gel. For nail polish, you do have to put it on a cotton pad or tissue and rub it for a good 20 – 30 seconds but it’s not strenuous.

It leaves your nails feeling good and shiny.

Honestly super underrated!! I usually love using Zoya polish remover but this is ahhmazing it’s like an oil there’s no heavy strong acetone smell super moisturizing and it takes polish off super easy, a lot better then traditional removers tbh – I honestly thought it wasn’t going to be any good when I tired it but it’s amazing how light it is yet so strong at getting polishes off without any extra rubbing 🔥🔥👌👌.

Does the job, and obviously I go through a lot of nail polish remover! Quite frankly, I’m not brand loyal as I find all nail polish removers work equally well. Except the non-acetone variety, which are utterly useless and paradoxically contain more harmful chemicals than acetone-based removers that you also have longer exposure to since they take so long to work (I do have a specialist degree in toxicology).

I like this one because it is available in a large size and I usually change my polish several times a week. Works well for soaking off glitter polishes too. Will also soak off gels if you are patient, but I prefer pure acetone for that.

I found this pure acetone at Sally Beauty, and it is my go to remover for acrylics and dips. It’s very affordable, comes in a nice large bottle, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I like to put this in a ziplock bag with a dryer sheet, then submerge my nails in it for easy removal.

To make removal even faster, I’ll put the ziplock bag in a bowl with dry rice I microwaved for just under a minute. It’s like the acrylic or dip powder melts right off! Do be aware, like all pure acetone this will make your skin quite dry, so be prepared with cuticle oil and moisturizer.

Pure acetone that dissolves gel, acrylic and nail polish. It is very effective and the cap is child safe which I really like. This acetone does not smell like others I have tried. It will dry your skin, like acetone does so make sure to put Vaseline around your cuticles and skin.

I purchased this Beauty Secrets nail polish remover while it was on sale at Sally’s for around $11. Since I polish my nails every day I need a remover that is good but also nourishing to keep from tearing up my nails and the skin around them.

I am so glad I stumbled across this nail polish remover. It is so gentle I wouldn’t know there was acetone in this remover, except it says there is. Even using it every day I have had it almost a full year and I’m not even half way through the gallon bottle.

Yes! This stuff! If you’re growing out your nails, you need it. I noticed that painting my nails and removing the polish always made my nails dry and peel. So I took a break and now only use natural polish and this remover.

I swear my nails are stronger after using it. It’s oily so they don’t dry out. And it works really well. I don’t know how it works on conventional polish, however—that probably depends on the brand and color.

It’s not cheap, but the bottle is glass and it’s really big, and there’s comfort in knowing it’s not completely poisonous.

Went through normal polish like a hot knife through butter. Used it to remove my Shellac (thanks Covid-19) on a cotton ball with foil wrapped around each nail. Took longer than my nail lady who uses straight acetone, but it worked very well.
