20 Best Monitors For Macbook Air 2015 (2023 Updated)

This monitor was a gift from my very savvy son who assured me that I would quickly get used to the surface’s reflective quality in no time. It’s a FANTASTIC monitor for the price. I just bought the exact monitor for my business partner; he is also very happy.

It’s a great workhorse for the office. Perfect size for multiple windows. You have to use screws to remove the base, but it’s very solid and easy to move. The pedestal does not move up and down but hey, that’s what Art Books are for.

We are in the art business.

The fact that I was intrigued by the size and looks of the screen being as big as my First Smart Tv but is more heavy was a plus knowing it didn’t feel like flimsy plastic. The stand it’s on is great and doesn’t seem like it’ll tip over or slide off as easy as my Tv because the stand is at the bottom center of the monitor though it does wobble a bit.

The part for Warzone means it’s refresh rate is good enough for gaming in general considering there was no screen tearing as of yet and the picture looks great though the main reason I bought this monitor was merely because I got it as a clearance item.

I wouldn’t recommend spending more than $150 for this but it was worth the buy for $200 if your not wanting a 4k monitor but a 1080p monitor that’s alright for gaming.

Pros: This LG monitor is a great monitor with some special features that make a fab experience. Some of these include: – its low blue light, flicker-free technology and automatic brightness adjustment that prevents your eyes being strained; a USB-C so you charge your laptop and transfer data at the same time without extra cables cluttering up your desk; a fantastic Ergo stand you can tilt, pivot, extend, retract or change the height of the monitor for comfortable posture while working.

The C-Clamp, Grommet and One Click Mount make it to install easily without other equipment. It has a unique 2560 x 2880p resolution so you basically get two monitors worth of screenspace – this is very handy for big projects, programming and multitasking.

It has a sensor that reacts to light, making the screen brighter in bright areas and darker in the dark. It provides a comfortable working environment. Cons: The negatives are that the user booklet is quite limited in information how to actually setup the monitor on the pc and get the dual screen.

The menu button is found on the bottom rear part of the screen and can be quite fiddly to move to your desired settings.

This monitor until recently was the only Thunderbolt 3 option for a MacPro 7. 1 2019 desktop other than the XBR at ~3X the price. Visually it is a great display but has major flaws. In particular a flaky internal USB Hub.

If other devices are connected to its internal hub, other than the computer it may result in a kernel panic on computer shutdown which manifests itself as a long shutdown delay and either a kernel panic on restarting or a ‘watchdog’ error message on login or both, The LG internal hub also has very limited power capability and over straining it such as charging devices from it may damage the board requiring repair.

This was reported to me by an authorized repair center of my previous unit who showed me a stack of interface boards when I took my previous one in for repair. I took my previous one into repair after it failed after having it for 15 months – 3 months out of warranty.

It was unable to be repaired due to display failure. The only support or compensation I received from LG was a few hundred-dollar check to purchase a new one as the cost of repair was the same or more than a new unit.

While a solid stand it lacks freedom of movement. Horizontal movement is limited and the monitor cannot be rotated into portrait mode. I chose to use the VERSA mount and purchase a StarTech Monitor Stand which allows this.

My advice, should you choose to purchase this monitor, be sure to get an extended warranty; do not use the rear connectors for anything other than connecting to the computer; and replace the stand with one that offers more flexibility.

Great screen for productivity and the stand is apt for someone who wants to comfortably use for both a sit/stand mode. I have been using for 3 months now. I want to give a 5star but, the following point makes me go with 4: The only issue i faced so far is the usb-c port stopped working within 3 months.

The port became very flimsy and did not sit in place. LG was quick to replace the motherboard and thus the issue is resolved, however the cable that came out of box for usb-c too stopped working at the same time and sadly this wasn’t replaced according to the limited warranty.

Though it is only 3 months so far – now I have to buy the cable (since 4k usb-c are slightly expensive – this is a pain point for me – considering the price of this monitor – was hoping they would replace the faulty usb-c cable too) Otherwise – no issues so far – goes well with my macbook.

As this is an expensive monitor – it is highly recommended for those who spend more than 7-8 hours of continuous work and want such screen real-estate. However this is a productivity monitor – so good for developers, designers, business users and not to be considered a gaming monitor as they require higher FPS and probably more intensive display options.

I also use it as a tv once in a while – the inbuilt speakers are loud for a small room – but it isn’t exactly a TV as there is no remote – but the LG app on the macbook can be used to manage the settings.

Overall – this is my productivity motivation and am happy to have gone with it over other 4k monitors.

When it comes to gaming, monitors tend to come in every different size imaginable. However, the one thing that’s remained consistent is 1080 resolution for gaming with most GPU’s on the market. Acer has continuously delivered monitors for the vast majority of gamers, at a lower price than most of its competitors.

Oddly, Acer chose to include a standard flat head screw that will require the use of a screwdriver to properly install. This lacks the thumb screws that have been used for most monitors made in the last 5 years, so it was surprising to see them skip out on a tool-less installation.

The benefit here is the VESA mount compatibility, with many thin monitors choosing to use a separate VESA adapter. At 23. 8” this will serve most any gamer looking to upgrade from a standard 60 Hz display, offering a slightly higher 75 Mhz after updating your Windows display settings.

On the right hand rear side of the panel, you’ll find the various menu toggle buttons, and a joystick controller which makes navigating menus much easier. This monitor also only includes 1 HDMI input and 1 VGA input for older PC’s, making this compatible with those who have an older system and only need a new monitor.

The real benefit of this monitor is the inclusion of AMD FreeSync (not to be confused with Nvidia’s GSync), making this a great choice for those with console gaming systems or AMD based GPU’s that support this feature.

The 1 ms response time make this monitor great for fast paced gaming sessions on First Person Shooters, keeping you freshly connected to a game session. A few gaming sessions, and I can confirm the monitor does a great job keeping pace with CoD WarZone, allowing me to follow the action a bit faster than my older 60 Hz monitor.

Picture quality is as expected for a monitor in this price point, although I did notice that darker images tended to stay much darker, and colors were a bit more vibrant compared to others in this price range.

The backlight does a good job of avoiding too much light bleed all over the screen but is more noticeable in darker scenes. I also appreciate the thinner bezel around the screen, which would likely make this easier with multiple monitor set ups.

Just keep in mind that it really only has 1 HDMI input, so you’ll need a GPU that has more than 1 HDMI output to use more than 1 monitor. Overall, for the price, you’re getting a much better value, with an overall better picture compared to others in this price point, a faster response time for gaming, a 75hz refresh, and a VESA compatible option for those looking to mount your next display.

If you’re using the stand, just make sure to have a flat head screwdriver nearby!.

A fundamental thing that most gamers know is they want to minimize input lag when possible, as it could be the influence over “life and death” gaming situations. After input lag, usually for me and I would suspect for other gamers would come visual/display quality.

This monitor product by Acer I think fits the bill for a lot of gamers out there, though I would say in particular this is a great product for the casual gamer who may not be too heavy into their set-up and specs, and if you play console on a desk or small space.

Firstly, once plugged in and set-up, this monitor works immediately without additional set-up needed. It does come an with a HDMI cable of pretty good length and a VGA cable, too. While it can tilt vertically, it doesn’t have a height adjustment.

So, you may require a monitor stand depending upon your preference. The visual settings are also easy to navigate if you would like to modify those, which I was able to do for my own experience rather quickly.

The picture quality is also pretty good for the price range this falls in, and the viewing angles are also pretty nice. This monitor also doesn’t have speakers nor sound output, but I don’t mind that at all as I usually wear headphones of some kind.

While this monitor can be used for everyday use of things, I have tried this monitor out with both my PC and consoles and I would say that I enjoy the experience of using this monitor more with my consoles overall.

With that said, I am a casual to moderate gamer. But for the average casual gamer or everyday PC user for tasks and business related things, this monitor does get the job done. Overall, it is a good monitor for a broad spectrum of electronic consumers, and I would recommend this product to be considered for anyone who falls into that range, or those who may want an additional visual display.

This 24 Series Acer monitor offers some nice features at it’s pricepoint, such as an IPS screen, 1 ms response time, and Freesync — an adaptive synchronization technology for LCD displays that helps eliminate screen tearing, stuttering and juddering by synchronizing the monitor’s refresh rate with the framerate from your graphics card.

This Acer has an HDMI port and a standard VGA port. The picture out of the box was okay, and here is where I ran into an issue: Display adjustments. There is a single “joystick” type switch, and buttons which in combination are used to navigate the menus.

Unfortunately, after fiddling with it for 10 minutes I could not get to a point in the menus to select what I wanted to adjust. When it indicated to move the joystick to the left or right to make the selection, it immediately tried to apply a settings change to eco mode.

The menu navigation was so poor I couldn’t figure it out — and I do this for a living! At the default settings the display was acceptable, but the colors were a but understated, and blue skies looked had a gray hue to it, and all the colors looked as if everything was toned down slightly.

In the end, it was left at the default settings as I was simply too frustrated to continue. In the end, it was left at the default settings The Acer KA242YAbi has very good features which gives it value, and works as both a productivity and gaming monitor, but overall the picture did not stand out in any way, though one may be able to improve that if they can figure out to navigate the user interface — which was the worst I’ve used in quite some time, making it difficult to recommend it.

I bought this monitor after one that I bought from Dell didn’t show up (driver at DHL stole it!) Luckily, that failing to show did me a big favour. The T23d for a start is a great looking screen. The slim bezels make it as narrow as can be for the screen size.

The stand is great with adjustment in ever direction. Quality of picture is excellent. Extremely clear and scrolling produces no trailing colours (unlike an 8 month old Dell I have at home) The extra resolution that the T23d offers really is a major benefit over the regular aspect ratio you normally get it these size screens.

My use is office work, so not needed for movies or games. Finally, Lenovo don’t use DHL as their shipping partner. This is another major advantage, as for me, whenever I order something online, then see a dispatch notice with a DHL tracking link, my heart sinks.

The failure rate for delivery from them to my work address is astounding. So all in all, extremely pleased with the monitor, and Lenovo/Digital River as the seller. Perfect.

Excellent value! I’ve wanted a 1920×1200 monitor for quite some time. I much prefer the screen ratio and additional vertical space over the typical 1920×1080, which to me is too wide and short. But 1920×1200 is rare, and usually quite expensive.

I got the T23d-10 on sale and am very impressed! I was so happy after a week of use that I bought a second one! By the way, the stand is very solid and the ability to adjust the monitor vertically is really nice.

Finally, this is the first time I have bought from lenovo directly, and I’m completely satisfied with their service.

well built. nice stand. My only complaint, I bought two at the same time and the colors/brightness are not the same (they do not match) This color/brightness discrepancy could be because I am not using the same connection on both (one is HDMI and the other is DisplayPort) I didnt think it would make a difference but that’s the only excuse other than they are just different.

I am also using the blue light reduction feature so maybe that is not calibrated the same in both monitors. Overall, they are great and I would recommend. Having the extra height resolution is nice. They are plenty large enough for my needs.

Pleasantly surprized by this monitor and I think it’s one of the best in the price range and suitability for the MBP. It’s a great semi-pro monitor for both office and home. Firstly the colors: because it covers 95% of DCI-P3, you are going to have pretty much the same colors as on your MBP.

The monitor is a tiny bit dimmer though, which is expected: brighter monitors are more expensive. It didn’t even need calibration, I just switched it to the P3 mode, then had to find the optimal brightness/contrast (which for me was 100% and 80% respectively) and voila, the monitor is at its best in Standard mode, no need to tweak any further.

Be careful with the contrast setting as anything higher than 80% makes some brighter colors simply blend into white and disappear. Note that it supports only 60Hz framerate, so it’s probably not for advanced gaming.

USB-C ports: the monitor can become a 90W charger for your laptop, although you need to enable it in settings first. I tried to plug my phone to the monitor’s other USB-C port, but suddenly macOS complained about something I didn’t quite understand (Device drawing too much power – how so? which device?) and I figured the phone should charge from the laptop.

Fine with me. What’s best, one USB-C connection can be used both as the display connection and for charging. This is awesome (though I know it’s becoming a norm but I’ve never seen this before). Another plus: this monitor’s wake up time is pretty tolerable.

I’ve had a much more expensive Eizo before which would take 10-12 seconds to wake! You step away from your desk say for 10 minutes, come back and then the next 12 seconds (try to count it now!) you are sitting in front of the frigging Eizo waiting for it to come online.

So glad the problem is practically gone now with this Dell model. One problem with this particular shipment was that, there were supposed to be two USB-C cables in the box according to the brochure but I found only one.

The rest was intact though (there are also DP and power cables in the box). Anyway, overall happy with this purchase. Recommended for software engineers, possibly also designers. And everyone else not in the gaming or super-pro usage categories.

Did a bit of research into USB-C hub monitors for use with some MacBooks I own (Intel 16in I9 and M1 air). One thing I stumbled across was that MacBooks work really well with their own native resolution but scaling the output to 4K monitors can be tricky.

That’s why the Apply studio monitor is 5K. This 25in 2K monitor is great. Running at full resolution I have no issue with tiny text / font / icons etc and it’s a really nice amount of space. The Dell software allows me to snap apps to different parts the screen and the overall experience is really good.

The USB-C hub means I’m only connecting a singe cable each time. Also the stand has all the adjustment you’d need and the whole thing looks good. For the money, it’s a great bit of kit.

This has turned out to be a very useful monitor for my MacBook Air. With limited desk space I did not want a larger monitor. The VESA mount also made it easy to attach to a separate monitor mount attached to the desk.

So the setup allows you to conserve desk-space. The monitor has excellent sharpness and colour fidelity, and works well for photography. The real bonus is the USB hubs. The MacBook works in clamshell mode with the USB-C cable.

If I want to swap to a Windows laptop, I plug in the HDMI cable. The USB-C and USB A 3. 0 charging ports on the side, let you run a 4k Webcam or USB-C drive. Plus the USB 3. 0 ports underneath give more connection options.

Overall, it greatly expands the usefulness of the MacBook Air (with its mere 2 USB-C ports). The connection options to run a MacBook in clamshell mode are extensive.

This monitor was actually a Santa delivered surprise 12/25/2017( I believe he must have seen me reading about this monitor. ) Taking the monitor out of the box, I was really impressed on the packing and on the construction.

All the seams around the screen were tight, the screen was well protected and upon set up and first time turned on, I was thoroughly impressed with this monitor. I found no dead pixels and the screen color was not that bad however with a bit of tinkering I had things looking the way I really liked.

In regards to this you have a ton of options to tweak this monitor to your liking. I recommend setting a little bit of time aside and have your favorite beverage close by ( coffee for me ) and enjoy the many controls at your fingertip.

Speaking of control and fingertip, this was the first time I ever used this small “joystick” located at the bottom of the screen that you use to select the different menus to adjust the picture and I found it the easiest and quickest to use than any other monitor I have owned.

I was a real time pilot and am now attracted to a few flight sims of which I use this monitor with. The picture quality at 1920×1080 is splendid and I was so happy to find that textures and print did not appear pixellated by any means with this resolution on a 27 inch monitor.

After tweaking some of the game settings I do not see any ghosting and the response rate and 75 mhz refresh rate is very adequate for what I use this monitor for. I whole heartedly recommend this monitor for anyone wanting to jump into the 27 inch game.

I suspect it is for headphones or other external audio devices. Build is all plastic, the stand has got one of those plastic deformation mark (where the colour fades) when I got it.

This is my first 4K monitor. I wanted to get one after getting a PS4 pro a few months back and I finally grabbed this one during Black Friday. I must say that for the price the picture quality is absolutely stunning.

The screen is a little smaller than I am used to having come from a 32 LCD but the depth of colour and the sharpness really makes up for it. It works like a dream for gaming, Call of Duty Modern Warfare looks and plays amazing on it.

And watching Planet Earth 2 in 4K on Netflix blows me away. The only problem with this monitor is the relatively bad backlight bleed but to be honest you can only see it when its a black screen and thats rarely going to be the case.

Overall this monitor is fantastic for the price. Colours are absolutely stunning. Cant go wrong here 🙂 oh, and it has vesa mount support. It slotted straight onto my old wall mount with no modification.

If you are buying this product to use with a laptop, ensure that your laptop has a VGA connection. It was my mistake to assume that a new monitor would definitely have an HDMI port. My understanding is that newer laptops only have HDMI connections.

Note that even though you can use a VGA to HDMI connector, your display coloring will not be optimal on the monitor. You will not be able to adjust the display so that the color is true and crisp. I called Dell and they told me that essentially their monitors will only calibrate correctly with a Dell computer.

My laptop is a Lenovo.

I returned this. the monitor isn’t bright even at it’s brightest setting and there wasn’t very good contrast (even adjusting) between black and white which made reading type difficult. I called dell customer service but they pretty much refused to help me even though I had the monitor for 4 hours.

Staples did a great job shipping. although returning wasn’t “Easy” as they needed some number they couldn’t articulate the name of to correspond with what I was looking at. SO i just brought it back to the store.

Purchase the Acer monitor and i find it ‘s brightness and contrast much better.

EASY SETUP. COLOR LOOKED WASHED OUT AT FIRST. SPENT HALF A DAY PLAYING WITH BRIGHT/CONTRAST AND FINALLY USED NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL TO GET IT WHERE I WANTED IT. (I RESET DELL’S SETTINGS FOR BRIGHTNESS TO 81, CONTRAST TO 73) NOTE THAT SCREEN HEIGHT (RELATIVE TO YOUR EYES) IS IMPORTANT.

BEST IS WHEN YOUR EYES ARE AT SAME HEIGHT AS THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN; WHEN 2 INCHES LOWER(IN MY CASE), THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN APPEARS WASHED OUT/ LACKS COLOR INTENSITY. MANUAL IS ON DISK. WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL IF SOME OF IT WERE PRINTED OUT HAPPY WITH PURCHASE THOUGH.

The Dell C5522QT is one of the best purchases one could make for training & or conference. This product really brought us into the 21 1st century at Dana Transport. Coupled with the Screen Beam, it allows visitors and or multiple departments to interact in conference or within the room.

Nice and sharp picture quality with several inputs make switching context very easy. Writing with the stylus can feel a bit unnatural at times but is somewhat better depending on the software being used.

Generally preforms as expected and advertised. Would be good if there was a basic operating system that allowed for the Monitor to play MP4 videos from USB stick without a computer.

This is one of the best monitor I have used in the recent while. It is not just a monitor but also a hub and a laptop charger baked into one. My webcam, headphone, mouse and keyboard dongle are all connected directly to the monitor.

What’s more useful is that I use the USB-C connection to not only connect to my laptop (to extend the display) but also charge the laptop using the same wire and within same connection. It is just amazing and just works.

The whole setup is just one wire connection and it works like a charm. There is so less clutter. I was also able to remove the need of a power extension with this monitor as well. The picture quality and the dynamic picture mode has also been working really well for me.

The bezels are very sleek and overall provides a very modern look to the monitor. I have felt that it is also easy on the eyes as well. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a neat and practical work from home setup.

This purchase is worth every penny!.

Pros: Built in power supply. UK and European power cables included. Vesa mount. Slim bezel. IPS panel. All for just under £100. Great value Cons: No height adjust. No DVI port. only VGA cable included.

But nothing significant so far.

Pros: Very competitively priced IPS screen with narrow borders and VESA mount that makes it good fit for dual or triple screen set ups. Cons: Out of two screens purchased, one has considerably dimmed picture and ghosting issue when writing text on white background.

Vendor : Laptops-directs are not accepting this as a fault and asking to send both monitors back even second one works much better. Screen has very difficult to follow menu.

We now have two. Hard( or impossible) to beat technically at this price range. Close to an optimal refresh rate. We have serious gamers here whom connect these to 900 custom gaming PCs. Highly Recommended!!.

Pros: This is an excellent monitor that I use to connect my MacBook via a docking station. I like the height adjustable stand and being able to turn it in to portrait mode really helps with some of my work.

It is easy to setup and connected straight away to my MacBook with very little screen adjustment needed. The screen quality is amazing compared to my 10 year old monitor.

I bought this with low expectations and it still disappointed. I had previously purchased a different external monitor for about twice the price, so I will be using that as a baseline. Pros: Very cheap.

I was legitimately surprised at how cheap this thing was. Easy to Use. The only thing this really does is plug in and turn on. I didn’t see a power button or anything. it just has a stand that kicks out to one position, but you can place the monitor vertically or horizontally.

Cons: Size: It is a thick, chunky monitor despite it’s portability. It makes it a bit unrealistic to toss in a backpack that’s already got a big laptop in it. Build: This is a small one, as the point of a monitor is just to look at, but it just feels really cheap.

Hard, glossy plastic back, thick bezels, no buttons, it just does not feel good. Display Quality: This was the deal breaker for me. Although it is techincally an HD monitor, the poor viewing angles, uneven backlighting, and bad color balancing, this thing just looks like a 2010 android tablet.

It also comes with a CD to install drivers and see the user manual. Lastly, it appears to have been poorly translated in the instructions. This will work if you desperately need a monitor with a USBA connection, but for me personally I’d rather have no monitor than this monitor.

I received all FOUR of them today. I unpacked one and connected it to my DELL Inspirion 7000 laptop to see how it performed. It does connect with a single USB cable (provided with monitor) and connecting it requires you to right-click on the desktop and change your display settings to detect a second monitor.

GOOD POINTS: – Simple to connect. – Lightweight. – STURDY fold out stand for landscape or portrait viewing. – Comes with soft case (Slide In at End Style with velcro strap) – VESA mount SO-SO POINTS: – No apparent way to independently adjust screen display settings.

AOC USB screen displays brighter that the laptop, and with less contrast. – Laptop screen displays on AOC USB monitor top to bottom, with a sidebar on each side to compensate for the differences in screen widths between the laptop and the AOC USB monitor.

– Screen colors on AOC USB monitor are not as brilliant as the laptop, but it still serves well as a second monitor.

I purchased this based on the price, and the star rating. Star ratings can be deceptive, of course. I was very dismayed when I first connected the monitor, as it didn’t seem to work with Windows 10. The AOC logo displayed for about a second, then the monitor went black.

After reading several reviews, I found a 1 star review stating that the monitor doesn’t work with Windows 10. I was ready to give up, when I read another review that said that you can download the updated driver from DisplayLink.

I went there, and sure enough, they had the downloadable driver. After downloading that driver, it worked. OK, so the display quality isn’t great, but it’s workable. I hesitate to give it a better rating, as I just purchased the product, and after seeing the several reviews indicating that the monitor casing can easily break, I’ve decided to give the product an updated review after I’ve used it for a few months, and we’ll see if it holds up.

I need a second monitor for creating and editing videos, as I often have multiple programs open at one time, and this will save time from clicking back and forth between programs. That’s all I wanted it for, and it seems to serve that purpose well.

Update (6/1/21): After owning the monitor for several months and using it occasionally, Ive decided to increase the star rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. My reasoning is that this monitor is actually more durable than I was led to believe by other reviews, but like any electronic product, its not indestructible.

If you keep it in the padded sleeve, as I have always done, it should last a while. Heres how it could be improved: – Include the link to the software update. – Make it touch-screen. Edit: 7/9/2021 Sad to say, I had to lower my rating on this one after only using it a few of times since I purchased it earlier this year.

The problem with this monitor is that it developed a very noticeable discoloration on the screen. I was extremely careful with this item, keeping it in the padded carry case when not in use. I kept it in my backpack next to my laptop most of the time, except for the 3 or 4 brief times I actually used it.

But the last time I used it I noticed the discoloration, which distorts the image of anything I placed in the space where the distortion is. Its a couple of inches round near the bottom right of the screen.

Very disappointing. If the manufacturers will contact me and offer a reasonable remedy, I may increase my rating again.

Technically, the product seems fine. Ergonomically, it is lacking. You cannot adjust the tilt without inserting a long screwdriver into the stem and removing two screws and taking the base apart. To test whether the tilt is correct, you then have to put the base back together again.

If the tilt is not right, you have to repeat the process over and over until you get it where you want it. If you want to use the monitor in a different position (e. g. , elevated), then you have to to through this whole process each time you move it.

The price was relatively low, so I guess I got what I paid for.

I have always loved the Acer Products. There quality is amazing & you can’t beat their prices, if you didn’t know the brand, you would swear you are on a high priced Monitor. Anyone that needs a monitor should definitely not pass this one up! The 27in.

looks so much bigger in person, it’s great on your eyes, no eye strain at all & we are on this monitor for 12 hours plus everyday! What a Great buy!.

The monitor is pretty nice, specially due to its almost complete lack of borders. The VA panel provides a nice viewing angle. The colors are not the brightest ever, though. It came well packaged and protected.

I’ve assembled it in a movable arm stand for added flexibility and it worked great. On the downsides, I think I’d have gone with a 24″ had I known how Full HD looks in a 27″ monitor (go for 4k on a 27″ if you can).

The individual pixels are quite visible in it (specially when looking at still, colorful images), which might bother some while others will be ok with it. I don’t notice it when browsing the web, though (as long as I’m not looking at full screen images or videos).

It doesn’t have any audio output either (not even a P2 plug to connect it to an external audio device), which takes the fun off of having an HDMI input. Overall, if none of that is a problem to you, I have nothing to complain about it, specially for the discounted price I got it for.

Dell equipment has a good reputation and usually does well in tests, so I didn’t think twice about buying a P2421 monitor to go with my one year old XPS 8940 desktop. I’ve never much liked the letterbox format on PC screens copied from widescreen TVs, so I opted for this 16:10 ratio 24″ monitor.

The adjustable stand is quite sturdy and provides a small tabletop footprint with a useful cable tidy, and has a number of spare USB sockets available. To me it provides a clear, flicker free HD image, and even after long typing sessions I have not felt the need to experiment with the different settings, such as the ‘comfort’ mode.

The higher profile has proved to be excellent for my needs, and the 24″ size is just right when viewed from about two feet away in my small home office. The monitor has no built in speakers, and I would have liked to have bought the matching AC511 soundbar, but by all accounts it is a very poor quality bit of hissy rubbish and not worth bothering with.

(If anybody is listening, time to introduce a better one. ) My only other minor gripe is that the on-off button with its central LCD light is curiously concave and difficult to press unless you hit it square on with a fingertip.

An odd design fault which needs rectifying sometime. Otherwise, the monitor does it’s job and works well, it’s good value compared with some of the other ones I looked at, and the higher 1920×1200 profile makes it a winner.

At its core, this is a good quality monitor. The image quality is good and the resolution is high. However, the claim that it is ‘frameless’ on 3 sides is misleading in my view. But for the price, it is a decent package for my primary use which is business.

I bought this monitor for the USB-C connectivity which is excellent, meaning I can plug in my Macbook Pro with just a single cable, delivering power, video, audio and all other device connectivity. There are two key drawbacks to this product.

Firstly, although it has built in speakers, the sound quality is so poor that they are unusable. The sound is akin to that of a mobile phone – much worse than my laptop speakers. Secondly, I was horrified by the product’s packaging – full of non-recyclable plastic.

Very disappointing from a well-known brand.

Overall good monitor with rich connectivity and great real estate. It’s easy to get used to extra working space coming from UW1080p. I’m not a big fan of the menu buttons, joystick feels more intuitive.

KVM is great, when it works – it cannot wake up a sleeping PC, unless you manually choose the port instead of auto-switching with the input.

Picture is great, no dead pixels and the USB hub works very well. Connected to a laptop and desktop simultaneously over USB-C and display port. Has USB-C pass through charging for the laptop so I don’t need the power cable.

Speakers are surprisingly good for a monitor. Display curve not as intrusive as I thought it would be.

I have another Acer monitor that has better color temperature, at least the white appears to be white. This monitor’s color temperature cannot be adjusted and the white appears yellowish, apparently Acer did not try to tune the white point of this monitor or add color temperature adjustment capability.

The price is not competitive to other monitors either. But I specifically chose this monitor for it has built-in speaker and its buttons are on the front. The sound quality of the speaker is OK, although it would be better to be a little louder in case the source audio volume is very low.

The sound has good high frequency response but cut off a lot of low frequency response, a common problem for such small speakers that also exist in laptop computer’s speaker that is touted high-end. The sound introduces a little noise/distortion at the high frequency, which make it not in par with laptop computer’s “high-end” speaker.

So the sound is close to “good-enough” but not there yet. The reason to buy monitor with button on the front is that many monitors now have buttons on the bottom or back, which even in standby mode leak light and at night disturbs sleeping nearby.

In summary, this monitor has good stand, has good combination of connectors, is good that buttons are on the front, bad that color temperature cannot be adjusted, too bad that the white is off too much, so-so the speakers.

8 monitors online and it is only 3 days after the 30-day policy return for electronics and the monitor go black picture distortion, color is off and customer service say sorry but there is nothing we can do contact manufacturer and we do not give out their number so try to look it up and contact them.

So now I have this big old paperweight of a monitor that I spent $95 on only a month ago. Horrible customer service will never buy anything again online. So now I have to track down a number for ACER to see if it is still covered under the 90-day warranty.

Great monitor for the price. The 1080 resolution is fine for a screen of this size. It comes with a sturdy base, a VGA cable, an audio cable, and a DisplayPort cable. I use an HDMI cable I picked up separately because that’s the port on my laptop.

I bought the monitor to upgrade my “home office” setup during the shelter-at-home orders. I liked it so much I picked up a second one and a dual monitor mount (the Mount-It! one with the standalone base).

I can comfortably read two Word docs or PDFs next to each other per screen (four total with the dual monitors), and it has changed the game with my spreadsheets.

This is an excellent 24 inch working from home USB monitor. I run my laptop into it, keyboard, mouse, and webcam all into it and they all interface to my laptop while charging my laptop through a single USB C cable.

Dell Monitors are top notch in my experience for productivity. While sometimes they might not be as low priced as other brands I’ve had so many Dell monitors at work that last and last and last, while other brands have issues or fail.

I’ve recently tried some other brands for my personal gaming and computing work and I’m disappointed in their quality control.

Great monitor to match with my new MacBook Pro with the USB-C connection that allows my laptop to charge through the monitor! One less cable and a wise move on my part to get this advanced technology.

Love how it rotates to vertical scale as well. Perfect matte screen. The only drawback to Dell monitors, is it’s hard to see the cable attachments on the back and it’s hard to attach and unattach connectors in that awkward space, but I guess it allows the cables to fall down toward the desk.

Perfect for professional tasks. Color, size, brightness and design are reliable. Colour is quite good, but creatives might find it lacks some color gamut. Other than that, highly reccomendable. Especially higlightable is the ergonomics: it rotates over 3 axis (90 clockwise and anticlockwise, 15 or so along the x axis and 30 on the vertical axis) plus it has a long heitgh adjustment travel.

I will return the monitor if for no other reason than it shuts down or goes black for a few seconds randomly every five or ten minutes for no determinable reason. Yes, it comes back to life again but it is a disturbing factor.

And adjustments for clarity and sharpness are difficult to accomplish. And finally, unless the viewing angle is exact the clarity and depth is not very good.

I’ve been working with a smaller monitor for years. Getting this monitor was great. I don’t have to move the screen as much as I did before. I needed bigger letters which also helped. AND I have a Dell computer and by ordering a Dell monitor, all the connections were the same and it took me less than five minutes to set it up.

Wish the price was cheaper but it pays for itself in time wasted moving the screen around.

I have two of them and at $399 worth the money, when on sale, I’m buying a third. No dead pixels, good light and sharp. Vesa mount is strong. Easy to remove the legs, which are cast metal and solid. No problem gaming with them, Forza Horizon 4 and Forza 7 at 4k ultra resolution.

Control buttons are a pain in the neck being stuck on the back of the panel, especially when you have a few of them up against each other. But once set up you won’t have to touch them again. I’ve used them connected as hdmi and display port with no issues so far.

Had the first one for about three months now and the second about a month. I run these all day and never shut them down aside from them going into sleep mode with the computer hibernating.

The monitor was pretty good for about 2 months. Then suddenly the sound from the monitor became so dim its impossible to hear. I searched online everywhere it seems to be a regular issue. You can try to connect a speaker and you still wont be able to hear a thing, Now I will have to send the monitor at my own expense to Acer and hope they can fix it which can take up to a month.

Just what I needed. The young man that helped us was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and professional. Cudos to him.
