20 Best Mini Hi Fi System Review (2023 Updated)

I have been a professional small DJ production company for 5 years now and it was time to replace my 2000 watt Edison DJ audio system I also purchased at Conns. The sound is incredible and has many bells and whistles even tho I use a laptop equipped with a virtual DJ software, so this is more my audio power source.

Overall I love my new DJ audio system but with a few cons: the length of the audio and RGB cables are a joke and you can’t extend the cables either since they aren’t DMX. My old system didn’t have this either but backlit buttons would have been nice, and I was disappointed in the volume for a 5000 watt system.

First time I used it at an event a week ago was an outdoor wedding and while the speakers were just adequate on volume they really aren’t made for it, indoor events will be amazing with sound quality and volume.

I purchase flat bottom speaker stands since these do not have a speaker stand and no way to mount on the bottom but that was an easy fix. Overall, I don’t regret the purchase and love my overall upgraded sound system.

Saw reviews on YouTube and Google, decided to buy. Never have had an LG stereo, only LG cellphones. Tested the USB, FM, and BT and have to say SOUNDS GOOD. Techno, electronic, ambient music is what I tested it with.

The equalizer gives a fairly good range of choices to emphasize low or high range. Have it on volume 10 because it really does put out a thump at the low end with bass emphasized and the neighbors may not be as thrilled as me.

The paperwork that came with it was skimpy but I was able to download the user manual at the LG website. The Music Flow app is free on Google Play. Bluetooth hooked up quickly and works well with my phones.

The USB stick played well with some music I recorded to it. The FM wire pulled in some stations I listen to, but a better antenna might be a plus. Just because it’s Rock doesn’t mean the sound is best with the equalizer set to Rock.

By my tastes, too much bass end. I like the Jazz setting to raise the tone some. I haven’t any CDs to test the CD player with. Mainly intend to play digital through BT or USB. Overall, really like the little unit.

Little compared to the Panasonic I got in 2003 or 2004 with the subwoofer bass thumper. I can’t say how durable this will be, but intend to use it every day. My other choice might have been a Sharp. I’ve seen good reviews on those.

Bought this cj45 to replace our high quality but huge Panasonic stacker. Let’s start with the cons: No treble. Regardless of setting, the sound of the speakers is almost if the tweeters aren’t working.

I’ve tested with another set of (old Kenwood) speakers and it sounds much much better. No provision for headphones. Pros: Easy to use Very very loud Good selection of inputs(phono preamp would have been welcome) Excellent record to USB function We have barely used it because of the muffled sound.

I can recommend to others but change the speakers.

I prefer the Sharp 240W 5-disc changer, but that model is currently out of stock. So I purchased the LG model and … I really like it. It’s a massive beast, and occupies over 4-feet of shelving, but it’s a powerful system all the same.

It plays only 1 disc, so I hooked up my Sony 5-disc player via one of the auxiliary ports, and it plays perfectly (as does its own bookend speakers and sub-woofer). The bass and treble ranges are limited; and the equalizer function tends more to muffle sounds versus enhancing them (I’d much rather adjust bass/treble settings individually).

However, the overall sound quality is very good, and the system is rugged and easy to use. Instructions are brief, and remote works fine. In sum, I recommend this model as a stereo shelf system (but purchase the extended warranty if you have cats, because their curiosity is usually to the detriment of my electronic devices!).

Nothing special. It’s a basic bookshelf system with subpar sound and craftsmanship. Definitely not 700w rms. The only reason I bought this was because I was able to connect a phonograph to it using an adapter and it had bluetooth capability to use with a phone.

Setting it up was very easy but I could tell while unpacking that the material was cheap. The speaker enclosures are made of thin pressed board and are pretty light telling me the speakers were not good quality.

I turned it on and used bluetooth. It easily connected but the sound was very flat and the subwoofer was very underpowered and weak. The eq presets are worthless and would have been much better if it just had bass and treble knobs.

It does go loud but like I mentioned the sound is flat and disappointing. I might return it but repacking and returning is a hassle also.

Best bang for the buck. It sounds amazing and puts out bass deep enough that pictures and a painting jumped off the wall where they were hanging. The only drawbacks I’ve had with this unit have been with setting and storing preset radio stations, the speaker wires are short-limiting how far each component can be spread from each other, and the speaker wires connect by pinch points and are wired into each speaker and the subwoofer.

I’m used to having pinch points on the back of the stereo and a pinch point on the speaker, making it possible to use a different longer and thicker speaker wire to space the speakers further away from each other and not have to keep reconnecting the speakers to the stereo after the cord gets yanked out when someone trips on the cord.

All in all, this is an awesome unit with great sound and I’d definately recommend picking out up.

Read the reviews and as this product was about the price I wish to spend! Bought it. I knew Denon was reliable brand so this helped too. My only disappointment was the set up instructions. As it was many years since I’d set a system by myself, the instructions were important.

They gave the impression that there was only one wire running from player to the speakers. You may be brighter than me but for others who have forgotten. The wires split in two and the one with the obvious red attachment fits into the read knob! Oh and the sound is great! Bought a low priced Denon turntable too for my old record collection!.

I am very impressed with the sound quality from this small of a setup. I have been using a multi component Sony set up for 20 plus years. It still sounds great, but was big and “ugly”, as my wife put it.

I had some minor issues with this Denon unit. The bluetooth connection was not working properly with my pc for Itunes library listening. That’s all been figured out now and I’m very happy with my new stereo.

Again,I am very impressed with the sound quality from this small of a setup. I would definitely recommend this to someone.

My Bose multi-CD player died on me, and I have a massive CD collection that I’m not willing to give up. Rather than pay $800 for a new Bose, I purchased this Sharp system, and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.

Of course, the sound cannot compare to a Bose, but it is very close. I love the built-in Bluetooth that pairs easily, so I can listen to podcasts from my cell phone. I was concerned at some reviews that mentioned you needed to buy some type of connector to use the Bluetooth, but that is not true at all, at least with this model.

I was happy, too, that this unit provides both AM and FM radio, and there is an antenna to improve the AM reception. There aren’t many stereo systems that offer AM anymore. The unit looks great, is very easy to use and sounds great.

I highly recommend.

Today’s manufacturers of electronic gadgetry tend to forget that many of us have invested heavily in old “tech” such as CDs and have huge libraries of material that we do not wish to trash, some of which is irreplaceable.

The tendency in recent years for CD changers has to been to downsize the platform size from a multi-disk to a single disk format on many radio/cd/Bluetooth etc combos. Sorry but I like to load a bunch, turn the player on and forget about reloading a CD every 45-70 minutes throughout the day.

My high-end (to remain nameless) cd disk player recently crapped out and to my chagrin, the company no longer offered nor was able to repair the unit. Much to my delight, after about a year searching, I recently found that Sharp had produced the very format that I wanted and required.

In a nutshell, I found the unit to be most satisfactory, the sound quality great for the price point, and the features radio, USB, Bluetooth, and CD are great value for the money as well. My only complaint is that I have not found a way to link my Bluetooth headphones to the unit for receiving output from the unit.

Regardless the Bluetooth feature as an input from my computer and other sources is in a word “Fantastic!”. I guess you can’t have it all. In short. this product is great value for money, and delivery from the warehouse was surprisingly fast as well!.

A nice little system, perfect for a shelf or desktop. It’s great if you still have CDs that you enjoy listening to, but it also will satisfy the millennials and post-millennials who prefer to stream or play their Spotify or iTunes via their phone due to its Bluetooth capability.

It’s well-constructed and sounds fantastic for its size! I have only two criticisms: 1. The remote and button layout seems unnecessarily complicated. You’ll need to take some time and actually read the manual.

2. There is no aux RCA input. I had hoped to add a cassette player, but it looks like I’ll need an adapter if I can use it at all. Otherwise, a great little unit at a great price.

I was torn between a 3 and a 4 for this. I bought it to replace a 20 year old Sony that I loved in my basement bar. First the good. The sound is amazing. I’ve never heard better out of a bookshelf unit.

Also it plays my MP3 cds, which was a must have. It has a random function, which was also a must have. The FM radio is super sensitive. I was able to get rid of my amplified antenna and just use the supplied wire.

An aside that only applies to me, Sharp put in the wrong remote so a lot of functions didnt work. They were very nice about replacing it with the right one so that got resolved right quick. Now the bad.

Many of the functions are harder to work than they need to be, and many have to use the remote. It is not very intuitive or user friendly. You will have to read the instructions repeatedly and experiment.

It only does random on the CD playing, not across all the CDs. The clock is worthless. It displays for about five seconds and disappears. Changing the display is temporary. If you set it to display the song title/artist, that stays only for that song.

When the next song starts it reverts to some useless numbers. When you turn it on or off the servos sound like a 1950’s movie robot. Pretty cool, but slow. When you turn it off, it doesn’t turn off. Instead it displays “bluetooth enabled”.

If I had a blue tooth I’d probably go see a dentist. Dont need or want it defaulting to my stereo. Better if it defaulted to the clock. If you want to change disks, you have to push the disk number and then the play button.

If you just push the disk number it blinks for a while and then goes back to the previous one. I’ve only had this thing for a few weeks so the learning curve is not complete. Some of my observations may be modifiable.

I just haven’t figured out how yet. Like I said, you wont take this out of the box and just run it.

Never did run right. After 3 weeks of fooling with it came to the conclusion it has something to do with the computer board. None of the control buttons produce the result they are suppose. Disc drawers open close at will.

It turns on and off and thats it. Does not play. Bringing it back to store today for an exchange. I will see how the new one works. Best Buy rep said to bring it back for refund or exchange. They were very helpful and I am thankful for that.

CD player didn’t work right out of the box. Sounded like a motor running when it loaded CD and while playing CD. Will never buy a Sharp product again. There were bad reviews on the CD player but I took a chance because there were good reviews also.

Evidently those people were lucky or hadn’t had it long enough for it to tear up. It is a cheap product and the main unit weighs less than half of the Sony one I have that has been discontinued. As many reviews that said the CD player was the problem, Sony should not be able to put this product on the market.

Very nice, compact with decent, but not mind blowing, sound. It has presets and a dynamic setting but, still, I could use a bit more bass and it doesn’t have bass boost. There’s a model with a separate subwoofer and bass boost but I had limited space, so, this t was.

It isn’t like there was much choice, but I am thankful for WalMart choosing to provide some choice, it’s hard to find a CD player of any kind anywhere. I actually bought it for use with the latest gen iPod Touch and for anyone who is wondering, with the lightening to thirty pin adaptor, it works fine.

I have a few CDs that are not on the iPod, I don’t know if I will play them, but I may; the one thing this lacks is a “repeat all” CD setting. It will repeat a single song on the CD and it has a shuffle feature, but it will not repeat the entire CD, why they would do this, I have no idea, especially for a single disc player.

Still, a nice item at a good price, much better than a boom box, I’d not hesitate to recommend.

I purchased this specifically because I needed a shelf-sized CD player with attached speakers for the main purpose of turning off one speaker. Turning off one speaker is required for playing split track accompaniment CD’s whereby the music only, without voices, can be heard.

I need this for CD’s used by myself, others and our choir at church. Before making this purchase I called a major seller of this same and other similar electronic products to ask if this system had a way, such as a balance control knob, to turn off one speaker.

This person said yes, it has an equalizer control. Unfortunately, I didn’t understand that this equalizer control provides only a few pre-set sound effects. However, I had learned elsewhere a less easy way is to just unplug, in my case, the right speaker that has voices.

Other than that disappointment, I’m very pleased with the sound and use of this product.

Just picked this up 4 days ago site-to-store. This thing pushes a lot of wattage for the current price. Love the fact that, although it’s made and named for over-priced iEverything, it will pretty much take any MP3 player through the use of a simple male-to-male 3.

5 mm audio cord–same size as the head-phone cord. Almost went with the rejuvenated version with the extra woofer, but didn’t want a previously owned system. Only problem I have with this mini-stereo is the lack of a good, solid antenna.

It comes with a wire antenna, which does work, but is not the greatest for radio reception. I’m still glad I bought it. For any one room, this thing is all the sound you need, unless you’re a rap/BASS junkie slowly growing your ears to the size of your speakers.

I love the design and black and gold color scheme of this stylish stereo system. I like the fact it can play my old school cd’s and has bluetooth pairing at the same time. It also allows for 20 FM radio presets which is always nice.

The bass is decent but not for the person looking for a wall shaking type of delivery.

I originally purchased a Sony box for my ex, but she said it sounded tinny and just awful, so we returned it. So I bought this for her instead, based on the great recommendation of your support staff, and she is blown away by it.

I liked the full, rich sound. The speakers have a great bass sound, better than most in this price range. However, after just a few months, it started skipping on all CD’s, then basically just stopped playing soon after starting any CD.

I bought a cleaning disc as told by tech support. Problems continued. There were no local repair shops. I was hoping to get a replacement but then Covid hit and I could no longer reach anyone at LG. So I ended up buying a new system and using the LG speakers ! The new system sounds great.

and keeps playing!.

I bought this to replace a similar system (not an LG) that finally failed after about a decade. As the years go by I’m amazed at how the build and especially sound quality of such units consistently deteriorates.

And, seemingly, how most folks’ simply don’t care. To the point that a mediocre-at-best shelf top system like this can garner rave reviews for its “great sound. ” The CM4360 does not have great sound by any stretch of the imagination.

Granted, it’s a small, relatively cheap unit. But so was the one that the CM4360 is replacing, and its sound was far superior: natural, even airy. The CM4360 sounds like a glorified tin can. The many pre-determined EQ settings aren’t much help.

I will likely return it, however, I’m currently experimenting with using the speakers from my old unit, which seems to be helping. I know I’ll be written off as an audio snob. So be it. But for the few who care about decent natural sound, maybe my review will help.

It really should be a 5. but I’ll tell you why I gave it a 4. First of all it really is a solid, good sounding unit that provides a lot of sound. And, its surprisingly well balanced with the right settings between bass punch, mids, and crisp highs.

What LG gets wrong. Why mess around with preset EQ settings that are terrible. All of the EQ settings in this unit basically suck except for BASS which actually pumps up bass and highs and gives a nice V curve to the Equalized sound.

Every other setting on here is useless. Wouldn’t it be better to simply put a digital 5 band EQ in and let us store 3 favorite EQ settings that are useful. ??? Most manufacturers are doing this, probably because they don’t think the consumer knows how to position an EQ.

!?!?? Anyway. If you use your phone and bluetooth sound to this you can use the EQ on your phone and really get a nice tight sound. Or in my case I play files from a small netbook through Winamp which has a 10 band EQ and fixes any or all deficiencies in the sound of the unit.

The CD works good as well as AUX in. FM sounds full as well. but again use the onboard BASS EQ setting and save time, the rest are all mostly muddy and lack treble and definition. This LG can really get loud especially if you’re pumping a pumped up setting through the Aux.

Imput. Good bang for the buck for $99. 00. But it’s so close to being REALLY GOOD. !?!??.

I principally bought this model so that can put on my room, without sub woof so that doesnt room for place one. The speakers sounds excellent highs and the bass sounds better if the speakers are located a few centimeters ahead the wall, and over a bookshelf (not inside a section because sounds with very resonance).

On the same bookshelf is a turntable, but not causes a feedback even if has many volume on the unit. The tapes sounds excellent only if no were the fact that it’s mechanical and can’t be controlled by remote, doesn’t offer rec timer but just program a on time, when the unit is off just press rec so that when the time arrives, tape begins to rec itself! (just a trick of a aiwa manual).

Radio is very sensitive so that have to find the right position in that stronger signal don’t cover a weak one. CD’s sounds excellent and don’t have almost skips (only if is very scratched or has a hole on label) CDRW don’t need to finalize to start to listen mp3s and support up to 10 sessions.

Aux in is excellent plug shape and connect tv, turntable, mp3 sony or anything that fits that plug. Speakers colors are different as shown, mine are silver on the vertical borders and have black horn tweeters, around the woofer and the ducts, looks better than the silver only.

I replaced a smaller single disc Sony player with the MHCEC55 for use in my shop/garage. I spend a lot of time there and the increased power fills the room perfectly. The ability to load three discs and play them randomly is a real plus.

The size is good; not too small or too big. I have mine in a cabinet yet have to open the door and position it so the rear fan draws in an adequate amount of cooling air. That is a bit of a hassle but I can live with it.

The only down side to this unit is the inability to manually adjust the bass and treble. The EQ presets are adequate and actually sound quite good after you get use to the fact that you are only in limited control.

The Sony MHCEC55 is a nice, compact unit with very good sound at an affordable price. I added two smaller speakers to the unit for better sound in a larger room. My only complaint is the fact it was advertised with a cassette player and it DOES NOT have one.

Since this unit was to replace my old Aiwa which had a dual cassette deck, I can no longer listen to some of my favorite old music.

I had an old Sony that would not allow me to play my iTunes via my iPhone and I wanted something with quality sound. I was going to purchase a Bose but it was three times as much as this unit. The sound is warm and rich and all intermediate tones are pretty well defined.

It does not have a big bass sound which I am extremely pleased about. It seems that if the remote is lost or misplaced there may be a problem. I am giving it a four star rating because it seems like the speakers should be a bit more dynamic.

It is definitely a unit made to be heard in one room only.

very nice overall product. Not as much power as some other systems like the Bose Soundtouch IV Wave radio, but nice to have a good, dependable bluetooth system that plays CDs. So many no longer include the CD player and we need it.

While this is labeled a “shelf system” it is too big and heavy for a normal book shelf. I have two of these systems in my home – one in my den and the other in my greenhouse which has speakers in the patio.

The patio setup plays calming Native American flute music for a large number of parrots I am holding for a wildlife rescue organization. It has played 7 months each year for the last 5 years with no problems for about 12 hours each day.

I recently found a like-new system and have purchased it to use at an assisted living facility where I volunteer each Sunday. My only complaint about the system is the method they have to attach the speakers and the length of the wire provided.

Each speaker needs a bit more wire for good separation. The clamps to hold the speaker wires is the real weak link and sometimes hard to make a good connection. Unfortunately, instead of making these minor improvements, Sony has chosen to discontinue the product.

If you can find one of these systems in good to excellent condition, it is worth considering.

This sony mini hifi shelf system has a great sound, especially if you are looking for something that can reach maximum volume levels and still maintain crisp highs and deep, booming bass. I initially bought this system to use in my shop at work so I needed something that could be clearly heard over other loud noises (welding, metal work, fork lifts, etc.

) and carry across wide spaces well and this little system fits the bill perfectly. It can be blasted and still maintain great sound. The only issue I have with this sony hi-fi system (MHCEC69IC2) and why I had to return it is that it does not have an auxiliary input as stated in the description so I could not connect my android or other mp3 players.

A necessary feature in a shop full of guys that all have separate mp3 sources they rotate week to week. Now I’m back to get the “7”9IC2 version because I know it has the auxiliary input I need.

Pros: Overall I really like the system, which I bought for 4-year-old’s room. Great sound for the size and price. No obnoxious lights, so great for bedrooms. “Cool” looking. Remote is nice feature. Cons: There’s no way to have the clock stay on, and even when on clock only displays for a couple of seconds.

Setting up the unit was more difficult than it should have been due to unfriendly button layout and multi-function buttons (push “Timer Menu” to set clock, for example). Not a fault of this product, but I sure wish I could have found something similar with an integrated alarm clock.

My first time shopping from Abt, and was very happy with price [. ] would have cost $20 more to buy at a local discount department store. Will definitely shop Abt again.

This unit was the closest match found to replace a boom box that finally wore out after more than three decades of faithful service. With one month’s use, it is performing as expected. The audio quality is better than expected.

Some other reviews complain of inadequate volume. While it might not suffice in a back yard or gymnasium, it is more than adequate for typical domestic use. The antennae could be better. The FM antenna is wire that can be difficult to position for optimum service unless one extends it with an unaesthetic attachment to the ceiling or high on a wall.

Using a coaxial cable to connect to the TV antenna in my attic resolved this issue. It was a bit surprising that the AM antenna is external. This unit’s predecessor had an internal AM antenna & it showed little directional sensitivity.

The external AM antenna is highly directional & did not receive stations 30-35 miles distant well without adjusting the coil’s orientation. The off-white lettering for the black buttons on the sides of the front is easy to read in bright daylight but impossible in the room during the evening.

By contrast, the remote control’s lettering is clear in the evening. The remote works well, but it was necessary to consult user’s guide to operate the disc changer. A disc changer was a surprise, since their popularity has declined in recent years.

It works, but one wonders how robust the mechanism will be over time. The USB connection capability was a bonus. It works intuitively and well. The Bluetooth connection has not been tested.

Poorly designed, clunky, and slow. Even just turning it on requires an incomprehensible series of steps that have to be timed just right. And there’s such a delay between each step, that it takes about a minute — no kidding, a full minute — between the time you first press “On” and when the disc starts to play.

Moreover, the device has a tendency to “forget” that it has discs in the trays — and displays “No Disc” even when the trays are full. Almost every time you turn it off and on again, you have to open and close each tray just to ‘remind’ the device that there are discs in them.

When I called to ask about this, the customer service rep said that this was “normal”. Well, if that’s normal, then this device is poorly designed; and if it’s not, then it’s defective. Either way, it’s inconvenient and unreliable.

Finally, our remote broke after just about a month. When I called to complain, I was told that they couldn’t do anything about it because the remote was an “accessory”. Well, there’s functionality that can only be controlled by the remote, and not on the unit itself — things like adjusting the treble and bass.

That means that if your remote breaks — as ours did, after only a month! — you’ll never be able to change the settings. Strange to call something an “accessory” when it’s the only way to control certain features on the device.

Basically, this device is a mess. For your own sake and sanity, pick something else.

I needed a all-in-one entertainment unit that included a ‘CD’ deck. Looked everywhere and could not find a unit that included a CD deck. Yes, I am old school and was not going to sell, trade or dummy download or transfer my precious CDs.

SHARP to the rescue!!! This unit is amazing. Quality sound, Bluetooth, wireless, and a good quality set of speakers and more. Check the specifications. Bottom line, if you need a quality all-in-one unit you will enjoy this unit.

Oh, SHARP also sells same unit without the CD deck.

Great sound on CD’s, but doesn’t have volume level expected with the power rating it advertises. Tuner doesn’t have a good antenna so it’s not as good at pulling in desired channels. Hoping to upgrade antenna on my own.

Other problem is speaker wires are very short, so it seems more made for a bedroom dresser than any other application, ie Living Room. For the money and the bedroom it’s good to very good. #sweepstakes.

I bought this not expecting much, since it was so inexpensive. I figured it was worth a shot. To my amazement, it stands up quite well to my Bose speaker, as well as others. I am hard to please when it comes to audio, I grew up listening to music on a variety of good to excellent systems.

Great system easy to use. The only thing that bothered me was tunning the radio, There is no tunning knob. You must use the remote. You either have to press a button a bunch of times to get your station or hold the button to scan to the next station.

I started at 90. 50. It didn’t stop scanning until 107. 7. It skipped about 15 stations. I scanned back to 90. 50 and had to keep hitting until it reached 95. 70. it comes in loud and clear. I don’t know why it skipped it scanned for stations.

Bluetooth works great. It’s easy to use. I can connect my smart phone anytime I want. I plugged my record player in the back. It sounds great. It even plays MP3 cd’s.

Just got it today. I liked the looks and sound when I put in a cd. When I put it together, though, I realized there was no AM/FM radio, which I wanted. I was disappointed. I am not tech savvy with this wireless, so I will be returning.

i bought this because it was on a big sale, i bought it new and i saw it at the shop, i was able to test it but didn’t expect much for the price, when i got home i unpacked it and as fast as i could i put on the max volume to try it out, needless to say that my neighbour rang the door to ask whats going on, i love it because i can connect my iPhone and play music from an other room, i can also make calls from it, and even connect it to my computer by AUX or audio In, though i use the AUX cable insert in the back, and the Audio IN in the front for external audio devices.

the sound is clear and nice, the design is really nice and slik, the subwoofer is gold looking whilst the rest is actualy carbon like, easy to clean with a dry cloth, and the CD actualy works with all my cd’s, there is no headphone jack but i learned to live with it.

other than that GO BUY YOURS NOW!!.

Bought a phillipsf10. IT DOES’T WORK…What do I do know!

I’ve had this gem for awhile now and it really seems to do everything well. The majority of my listening comes from my Plex server or Pandora, and the sound is amazing. My jazz music sounds awesome, even streaming.

The HEOS app for phones/tablets makes it very easy to queue up music, and it allows the user to adjust the EQ from the app. Only (slight) dislike is when playing music from my turntable using RCAs. Sound is washed out a bit, but this was easily solved using an inexpensive Tubed pre-amp I got from Amazon.

Together they make old Led Zepplin albums sound better than they did in the ’70s.

The sound quality of this unit is awesome! However, I will be returning it because the LED display is out. Yes, I did try the dimmer button. Signed, Disappointed 🙁

So far I am very happy with this unit. Very easy to setup and get going. Works fantastic and I hope to get many years of use out of it.

I’m a music teacher who managed to get my superintendent to purchase this system for my classroom a few years ago. It had all the features I needed, and set up was pretty easy. Sound was not bad (still find it odd that all of the EQ settings were basically just various genres of Latin music, but maybe I’m missing something).

There have been two problems, however. First, after a few months, we discovered that there is no way to block access to the Bluetooth function. No password feature, no “off” setting, etc. to stop anyone (and I mean ANYONE) within range from pairing his/her phone and taking control of playback, even if the system was turned off! This was discovered by accident when the biology teacher next door began letting students play on their phones during class and quickly became common knowledge among the jr.

high kiddos (I’m sure you can imagine the problems this caused). I contacted the manufacturer and they told me there was no way to stop this from happening, so I’m guessing it would be a problem for individuals who live in close quarters with their neighbors as well.

The second issue is that a few weeks ago, it simply stopped producing sound! I’m checking to see what the cause is, but no matter how I try to play music (CD, aux, bluetooth), no sound comes out of the speakers (yes, I’ve checked cables and connections).

It’s also now struggling with reading CDs that I know are perfectly good, and will suddenly freeze up with “S PROTEC” on the display. I’m assuming that this stands for “surge protect,” so I’m researching what, if anything, can be done to fix it (no, we didn’t have any lightening storms or power surges at the school prior to this happening, yes, I tried multiple outlets, etc.

). So, in short, it WAS a nice little system, BT can be hacked by your neighbors (both accidentally or on purpose), and it may just stop working after a couple of years.

For my birthday 2 years ago I had decided, that since I loved music to no end; what better way to show that than to get a stereo? I was not looking for some cheap brand with probably only 50 watts of power, I was wanting something as powerful as I could get it while still remaining.

Fairly priced to say the least. Well Walmart is where I originally found the CM4550 at and I just knew this was going to be my stereo, I knew I had to get it. It totally exceeded my expectations, and for the speakers to be as small as they are they surprised me with how much bass they got, even at a lower volume level like 15/40.

I have mostly used it for bluetoothing Spotify on the weekends to have fun with, but the FM radio function is quite good, and clear 97% of the time. I have not tested the CD function yet nor the USB recording feature but when I do I may come back to give my input on it.

The only cons I have, which are small, are 2 things: They try to automatically connect to my PC by Bluetooth every time I turn either one of the devices on, so to prevent that I have to keep my stereo unplugged from the wall until I decide to use it.

And the 2nd con is they have had issues sometimes with staying connected to the wires that go to the main unit. But other than those 2 things they are flawless and I’m perfectly happy with them. I have loved LG’s stuff for a while, and this is one of my prized possessions right here.

You cannot go wrong with this stereo.

This audio system on the surface appears to have great promise, however you will find that ultimately it may not be worth your time and money. Technically, it does have a very good Bluetooth interface, but that’s about where it ends.

The audio mute function used for karaoke is basically worthless, as it only lowers audio but also lowers fidelity quite substantially. Other controls are not all that functional, such as the DJ functions.

If you need DJ type equipment, you won’t find it in a this type of unit. The sound quality pretty good but the biggest problem for me was that it cut off expectantly (3) times during use, so I had to return it.

I didn’t want to get embarrassed during a karaoke party that I was planning. It seemed to begin shutting off once I plugged in two (high quality) mics, which should not be a problem since it as two 1/4″ (unbalanced) mic inputs.

The other extremely annoying issue is that the cooling fan becomes hyperactive every time you speak or sing into the microphone. It actually rev’s up to a higher level on and off as you begin to sing or speak.

If you plan to use it as a karaoke machine, you will likely be particularly disappointed, as the music volume over-powers the audio from the microphone in a way that it becomes essentially not too useful for this purpose.

Even though it has two separate volume controls, 1 for the mic and 1 for the music volume! You will need to turn the music down to an unacceptable level in order to hear the mic volume. This is not good at all.

Technically, in order to overcome this, you would need separate speakers for each volume control but that is not what you get here and for this price point you likely won’t. This only has one RCA output for I guess extending it to another (powered speaker) if you should need to.

Don’t buy this unit, but if you do, be SURE to purchase a warranty! It broke on me after 3 days of light usage….

I bought this equipment in 2019 and am quite satisfied with it. But I miss a detailed instruction on how to program the thing and other functions. The simple manual only tells you how to set it up, but after that you are on your own.

Good quality of sound, Bluetooth connection is easy. Work straight out of the box, no settings nothing. Months ago Worten Adeje had staff that was not so friendly but now everyone help as much as they can and explain everything with patience.
