20 Best Massage Ball For Plantar Fasciitis (2023 Updated)

Excellent massage therapy for hands and feet. Started using it years ago for physical therapy after hand surgery. Easy to carry around and use in idle moments. Has added benefit of acting like worry beads to relieve stress.

New, the ball is quite hard, but the blunted nubbins provide stimulating massage, and the user simply adjusts the rubbing pressure to suit. Depending on how often and hard you use it, the ball will soften over time, and the nubbins will begin to break off.

I use mine frequently and agressively, so it lasts about six months.

I bought this to help with pain from plantar’s fascitis. I think it is helping. I sit on a chair with my feet at ground level (hard surface) and position it under the heel and rub it back and forth. I then turn my foot to the side and use my other heel to massage from a different direction.

This ball is firm and just the right amount of texture to massage my foot after foot surgery. I have larger foot rollers, however this is perfect to keep in my purse and use throughout the day when I need it.

They are great. I am an athlete and found it difficult to relieve problem areas with conventional message balls. These are the smallest size I could find and they hit very small areas of muscle I would not otherwise be able to release.

Using the larger of these made my feet about 80% better in just a few days. The small size is too small for me, but the larger size worked wonders. Better than stretches, better than ice packs.

I absolutely love the mini-spikes! This ball (whole or both halves) is great for the entire length of paraspinals. Great for base of the skull all the way down. Great for Glutes. Great for IT and TFL.

Great for adductors. Great for forearms. Great for horseshoe of hell. I love all the different RAD balls I’ve purchased, but I think this is the one to have if you’re going to start with just one. I wish you guys would stop inventing cool new toys; my collection is getting unruly.

ONLY gripe is that it’s somewhat difficult to open/separate into lobes. If there’s a trick to that please do tell.

I rolled my ankle awhile back and didn’t realize it rolled a bit too much and healed wrong. A lot of my foot is “holding” because of this and when my foot is in full arch sprint (kind of like the nike shoes showing their flexibility) during a sprint I’ll have pain down the middle of my foot.

I also have sudden shocks when I step on my foot “wrong” but those are starting to go away do to my own PT and daily stretches. Anyway, I just think this thing needs to come with an idea guide. you say you have the app, but I could not find a way to find my product and the videos for this neruo ball.

It was all shapes of the many products you have with no titles and really general categories that overlapped each other. Not many videos either because you’d have to buy everything you sell to make them all useful.

But I just had no idea how to use it the first few times and the videos (i guess) gave me a better idea? but I worked at GNC for 2 years and I just think a little extra attention on the educational side would help.

Who knew a little gadget like this could make such a huge difference! My doctor had suggested I try using a bottle of cold water to roll against the bottom of my feet to help with my plantar fasciitis and I tried it for a while but it honestly didn’t do much to alleviate my pain because you’re limited as to how much pressure you can place on the bottle.

I fill this ball with cold water, place it on the floor and simply roll it around with my feet and WOW! It actually works! Pain is alleviated and with continued use I see the difference throughout the day.

Another great feature is that you can also use hot water for pain relief. It’s super simple yet genius. It really does work.

This Dr. Scholl’s Hot and Cold Foot Massager works really well on tired feet. The massager is easy to use and can be used multiple ways. Hot/warm massage by adding hot water to the ball, or cold by adding cold water and freezing it.

Or it can be used without any water at all for just a massage on the go anywhere you are. The nubbed sections of the ball really work to get the areas of the foot that need some attention. The ball seems very sturdy and made well and there was no leakage of water from the ball.

The only downside is it needs to be used on carpet. I tried using the plastic ball on a hard surface and the ball kept slipping out from under my foot.

I’ve used this so many times since getting it! I honestly only used it empty for a while and then finally put hot water into it. omg, so amazing! This little thing feels so good on tired/sore feet. I like that it has the different textures, so you can use it however you need.

I was honestly skeptical about the hot/cold aspect, but it really does warm up/cool off. Very happy with Thai product! The only thing I would change is the color, because I always lose it lol. Highly recommend!.

The Orb: After dinner and some stretching in the dark, it was tent time. I typically look at the map to review the next day’s route and if the network allows, I communicate with Renate. No bars, no talk, no text, so I whip out this bad boy and begin rolling out my muscles like you would a foam roller.

Placed under my legs or body, I used this trigger point myofascial release tool with great effect. I begin working my quads, IT band, hamstring attachments, calves, stabilzers rhomboids and occipital lobes.

Oh, the occipital lobes, I just cannot contain myself. I am sure that the audible expressions of pleasure and the sound of the sleep pad crinkling under my body weight and motion, scared away hare and bear alike.

I would feel embarrassed but it all felt oh, sooooo goood. The next day’s 9+ miles credit belongs to my new BFF, the Orb.

This ball has been life changing for me. I suffer from piriformis syndrome, so about once or twice a year my piriformis muscle (underneath the glute) becomes so inflamed that my sciatic nerve gets irritated as well, causing terrible pain and numbness from my lower back down through my thigh.

I tried everything over the years – stretching, foam rolling, pain meds – but nothing really helped except for getting a few sports therapy massages to loosen up the muscles – pretty pricey, but effective.

One day at work my back was so bad that I decided to walk (as best I could since the pain down my leg was so bad) to the Running Room and pick up this ball. This ball is perfect for rolling out the larger muscles groups, such as your legs and glutes. I’ve tried it in smaller areas and it’s a bit too big for those areas. Similarly, I found a lacrosse ball much too small for legs/glutes.

The massage ball is a real find. Though small, it aids circulation in feet and legs, and is light enough to take on hikes. I also use it when I’m sitting at my desk or watching TV. I have a roller pin that is too heavy to take on El Camino de Santiago; this is perfect.

I bought this ball at Dicks about a year ago. And i have yet to use it for my feet! Little did i know what this little wonder could do for my hands!!! I work with my hands always, and the stress and strain can be brutal.

Gripping, pulling, pushing all day can take its toll. I’ve actually gone to one of those mall, (asian) massage business’s just to get hand massages. And they were great, but wondered why i would just go in just for my hands.

Long story short, my wife and i walked in to a Dicks looking for a massage hook. Then she noticed and picked up this ball and asked if i’d seen one like this. I took it, noticed how hard it was and then instinctively started sliding and massageing my hands on it like a baseball pitcher would on a base ball.

To my utter and sheer amazement it was euphoric. Palm, fingertips, knife edge, you name it, it was wonderful. If i could give it 10 stars, i would. Got to get another for at work and to give as a gift.

After spending months and a lot of money at the Podiatrist with no success, I am finally starting to see results on my own using 2 simple and inexpensive techniques: 1st, I started taping my foot with Kenisiology tape.

This provides a little support throughout the day but by itself won’t fix the problem. 2nd, and what I think has provided the most relief, is the use of these deep tissue massage balls. I bought two them and keep one at my desk at work and one by my bed.

I roll my food over it with as much pressure as I can stand for 3 minutes 3-4 times a day and in the morning and before I go to bed. It hurt a lot the first week of doing this but now my foot is getting used to it and my pain is nearly gone! It’s worth a try if you haven’t given this method a go.

Plus, you aren’t spending a ton of money for someone else to give you a deep tissue massage. Not to mention that these things just feel good no matter where you use them.

I like the spiky ball so well that I purchased another one to take with me when I travel. My husband plays hockey and also uses it. I am 57 and working my way out of orthotics and toward stronger feet.

I am pleased with the progress and can now walk miles in “barefoot” sandals. The spiky ball might seem painful at first, but persevere! You will be glad you did!.

I have tried many massage balls for my foot and hand pain. For some reason those other balls are not effective, even if the appear similiar. I found this at a local store and purchased. It worked great very happy with it, we moved and somehow it got “lost” So I went back to the store I purchased at, they no longer had it.

So searching online found that I could order at Walmart. com. Probably should have ordered 2 since it took so long to find this same one again. I have no clue what makes this one effective. There are alot out there very similiar, they however did not bring any relief and that is the MOST important thing.

Relief for me is achieved.

This ball is amazing. I have Plantar Fasciitis. and I started running. it was worse on the running days. I just keep the ball under my desk at work and keep my feet rolling over it whenever I get chance, it’s such a relief and gives me the massage effect.

works wonder on the pain. Epsom salt foot bath along with this helped me so much to keep up with my running. great to clear out or loosen muscle knots too. I got a sudden neck strain at work which made my neck totally stiff.

all I did is rolling this ball over the pain point with pressure, believe me it’s already fading and not stiff any more withing 30 minutes. but you gotta put the pressure no gentle rolling (put the pressure more like a mild deep tissue massage pressure) it already loosened quite a lot.

Dr. Scholl’s Hot & Cold Massage Ball feels so good when you massage your feet with it. You can fill in water inside this ball. If you like “cold” massage, fill in cold water (good for inflamation), if you like “hot” massage, fill in some hot water (for sore feet).

Also, keep in mind that this is still a massage ball, not designed to handle a whole lot of weight, so don’t stand on it! Another good advantage is, it is dishwasher safe! This is a super handy tool when traveling or going to drive for a longer period of time.

I highly recommend it!.

I use this massage ball when I am watching tv at night to help relieve some soreness that I experience from some long days of standing on cement. I use warm water in the ball which is easy to put in with a simple twist of a coin on the lid.

I just use hot tap water as recommended in the instructions. The nubbed part of the has a nice feel as I roll it on my foot. Also when it is laying around the my cats sometimes like to play with it so sometimes I have to find it in other places, but I do not mind that.

The ball seems to be pretty sturdy but, I would not recommend putting your full weight on it and I do empty the water after every use but the instructions do not have a specific recommendation on that.

Great for relieving the tight muscles in your feet that you don’t realize you have until you use it. Feels like you will never relieve it but by the next day the tension is relieved. Can also use as a trigger point ball very firm unlike some trigger point balls.

I’m a high density foam type of guy. I have about 4 maybe 5 of there tension relief product and would buy again with no hesitation.

I got this to supplement my other self myofascial release tools. It works great for rolling the bottoms of your feet, for digging into those sore spots on my shoulders, and for that twingy area of my lower back.

For the price, I’d recommend buying a Lacrosse ball instead because they’re much cheaper and do a very similar job, but if you like the knobby texture, this ball is great.

Works much better to get into the areas that the larger ball just cannot get, and absolutely love how this gets those!

I bought this when my plantar fasciitis was its worst and now 2 days have passed and my pain is nowhere near what it was! This thing is great because it lets you hit the target spot effectively and allows that tightness to be broken up.

It has now become a part of my daily routine. 10/10 would recommend.

I suffer from plantar fasciitis badly. Seems like I always get it when I start working out frequently. I bought one of these at a running store once on a whim as I mentioned it to the salesman and he said I had to try it.

Nothing ever worked. I say whatever I’ll try it. I am so glad I did. You roll the arch of your foot on it nightly and it makes an incredible difference. Takes away pain and lessens regularity of getting it again.

I hadn’t seen it again until at Dicks the other day and bought another one. It literally is a life changer. I highly recommend it.

If you are big into myofascial release then this is a must. I have a lacross ball and a foam roller but both of them are too big to get into smaller spots and dig dipper on places like feet, hands, forearms and calves.

I bought this weird nubby ball on a lark. I have constant foot pain and neuropathy. The first time I used it I noticed a difference. Now, when ever I sit, which is unfortunately not that often. I break out my nubby ball and roll it under my foot.

No matter how long, it seems to break down the tissue and releases the tight tendons on the bottom of my foot. I highly recommend this silly little nubby ball for relief of constant foot pain. But, remember, it only works if you use it!.

This is a very good product. From a temparature perspective, this works great. The cold therapy lasts for a surprisingly long time. The heat less so but long enough. About the only small issue I have is that the ball doesn’t roll easily.

It tens to stick. You still get the desired temperature effects but it would be a little smoother on the rub if the metal ball rolled more consistently (it tends to freeze in place for long chunks of time unless you unscrew the outsite piece).

It looks like it would work well but I couldn’t separate the outside. I tried to twist the orange band counterclockwise as instructions indicated but it won’t open. Thus, I can’t even use it. It’s disappointing since I use other KT products and they work well.

Honestly I am having trouble getting into it. I have arthritis in my hands and can not get the orange band off. Living by myself it is hard. I have had for a while now and still can not get into it, my review may change if I ever get into it but right now it is not arthritis friendly.

This little ball is packed with power! As someone who has an old low back injury, this ball was great at working the kinks out. Went to buy a foam roller, this was on sale, tossed it in the basket too.

I bought this to relieve tension in my calves after running. I looked up how to use it on TriggerPoint’s website and, following those instructions, the ball works great. It is just the right size to get to sore or tensed points in my calves.

It might be a little small to work on larger muscle groups, though. The ball is well-made and seems quite sturdy. It is also very light, which is a plus if you want to bring it with you to, say, the gym.

Contrary to my dog’s belief, this is indeed not a dog toy. I did indeed buy this is as a massage ball, and it does just that. Lightweight and very portable. I was expecting it to be a bit firmer which is a little disappointment, but it still does the job it’s meant for.

Great for working out those knots!.

This triggerpoint ball is great if you want moderate pressure. It’s listed online as one of their softer massage balls. It’s perfect for rolling out my traps against the wall. If you need something deeper opt for a different massage ball by triggerpoint.

There is nothing I dislike. I prefer it way over a tennis ball and lacrosse ball. It.

Perfect size for getting into all the tight spots. When I bought this I was worried it would be too soft but it’s very firm and works well. One of the best muscle/ fascia release balls I’ve used (I’ve tried quite a few!).

I love it! It is small and very light so it’s easy to bring it with you everywhere. I have planta fasciitis and use this regularly. The quality is great especially when it is on special.

I bought this because I squat and deadlift about 3 times a week and it really gets those hard to reach areas in the glutes and hamstrings. You can really feel it working the deep tissues unlike the regular foam roller.

For working the quads, I suggest a regular foam roller though. Since the ball is so small, its a little awkward trying to lay your body on it face forward to the ground. Sometimes while trying to roll my quads, the ball would slip from under me and people at the gym would just give me looks.

That’s any easy prob to fix, I just bought a travel size regular foam roller for my quads. Besides that, I swear by this massage ball! I haven’t had any more muscle tightness or muscle cramps since I started using it and it fits great in my nike bag too!.

I bought thi for my wife who is having pain from inflammation in her foot, possible heel spurs. She has been using the ball, rolling it on the floor under her foot and working problem areas as directed.

It is giving her good pain relief and she is able to walk pain free with at least daily use.

This is a great therapy roller. Love that it comes with an extra ice ball and has a nice comfortable rubber gripper. The only suggestion I would make is to improve the threads on the stainless steel ball.

Because they are so tiny they are difficult to get threaded properly which then interferes with the rolling capability of the ball.

This is a great product and it is awesome to throw one ball into the freezer while using the other. However, the thread on the case is very small and easy to cross thread. Don’t let your 15 yo try it without supervision or else he might cross thread it and get it really stuck.

Purchased for pressure point ‘non-invasive acupuncture’ treatment to alleviate pain in shoulders, arms and hands. So far working well and pain is much less. Not good for where a conventional treatment is proscribed, but this has helped our general uncomfortable pains.

Nothing wrong with product but I had difficulty knowing what size of ball to buy which led to purchasing pack of three. Turns out none were correct according to my Physiotherapist. He would have preferred one sized between yellow and orange to correctly massage my lower back pain.

Trouble is it is expensive to return product for exchange and, if I remember correctly, not exactly straight forward.

Love all the massage balls that I have purchased. They are a great tool to use whilst treating clients trigger points, tight muscles and fascia. However, they are even better as a self help tool that clients can take home with them and are a relatively cheap addition to their health and well being regime.

I used this recently during the ONNIT 6 duriblity challenge. I fell in love with the pain and release this little ball of hate causes hahaha. Great product. Now if I could just stop my dog from trying to chew it up.

I bought this three weeks ago when I was having a hip flexor issue. Using the ball was instrumental in getting the issue to subside. I now use it on a regular basis as a preventative basis, now.

Bought this to release the piriformis muscles to help my sciatica. Firm enough to get the deep muscles.

Fantastic product. I recommend to use it on regular basis.
