20 Best Mascara That Makes Lashes Grow (2023 Updated)

From the moment I tried Lash Princess Green I’ve been a fan. I stood in the back of the line when lush, long, thick lashes were handed out and so definitely need help. Help is what you’ll get from this mascara and goooood! My lashes look twice, if not thrice as long and they’ll even have some volume go ‘up’ a tad (Yeah, I know, weird, but I have a slight lash curler phobia, never use one).

It is also easy to apply, no spider legs, nor needing 3 coats to get results. 1 dip per eye and I suddenly look alive. and even decent!! The price for this great mascara is ridiculously low too. €3, something (Tip: if you decide to like it, get a backup in buying round 2.

In my drugstore it is either always sold out or with just 1 or 2 remaining. ) Performs better than some high end ones I tried. If there’s one thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars, it’s that the emulsion is – how to say it – a little ‘dry-ish’.

It feels ‘stiffer’ somehow than other mascaras and you can notice that with application even though it still runs smooth – therefore hard to explain. Maybe this is why it makes my lashes quite hard when dry.

A lot of mascaras do that though, but one of my other favourites (L’Oréal Collagen 24hrs volume mascara) makes them feel soft and pliable, so I’m “ruined” because of that ;). They’ve not broken because of it yet – important to note since I’ve been using this 6+ years now -, so it could be just me whining over nothing.

A. k. a nitpicking. I’ve nothing more to say. Just go try it. but only the black Lash Princess with green lettering. The others are rubbish imho.

Guys, first of all this stuff is overrated. Get the Lash Princess one in the Peach tube, that one is miles better for the reasons I’m gonna state later. With this particular one, this thing is runny and gets smudged like crazy.

If you accidentally get it on your lids or on your skin, it takes wayyy too long to dry up before you can use a spoolie to scratch it off. And it will stain. It also gets all over your eyes so easily no matter how careful you are.

Honestly super annoying. Second of all, this thing dries so slowly that if you spray setting spray afterwards it will run down your face and give you raccoon eyes. I know I should’ve covered my eyes before using setting spray but the peach tube didn’t smudge one me at all without covering my eyes so.

It doesn’t do as good as a job of lengthening my lashes like the peach one, and it actually holds my lashes down :/ And for the girlies who cry a lot in therapy (like myself), this mascara’s gonna run down your face.

If you cry a lot, get the peach one. You can rub your eyes and cry all you want and the only thing it will do is get rubbed away but NEVER leave your face with black streaks. This green one is overrated as heck, get the peach one.

I’ve been sitting on getting this one for awhile, but I finally had to throw away Better Than Sex and I was on a budget. I HIGHLY recommend this mascara, especially if you’re on a budget. I would also recommend using an eyelash separator.

That’s my only issue besides the wand being a little big (but I have an issue with most mascara wands regarding that; I have to use mini brushes or be careful). I used length because that’s what I was going for, and it’s GREAT.

I can’t wear falsies because constant facial spasms (I have a neurological condition) caused my right eyelid to change texture/elasticity, so I HAVE to use mascara since even magnetic eyelashes do not stick on.

I recommend this to anyone from beginners, people on a budget, to people who don’t care either way. It makes your eyelashes long. I will say, I noticed that it didn’t stay curled when I was in California for an anime convention (I am mostly Native American, so my hair doesn’t hold the best curl), but that’s nothing that a quick eyelash curler can’t fix.

People in more humid places might have to recurl if they have straight lashes like mine The pictures are of my face with one eye done (one eye with Lash Princess, one without, no curler), lashes without Lash Princess, and lashes WITH Lash Princess.

That’s how good this mascara is!.

I have tried a lot of mascaras over the years because I love a thick long bold lash. I’ve tried more expensive ones and a million drugstore ones. Someone gave me this mascara years ago to try and I haven’t use anything else since, and never will! I pair this with white lash primer before applying, and I constantly am asked what kind of mascara I use and/or if my lashes are fake.

Seriously, like once a month. And trust me I do not have long or thick lashes at all. I’m also really lazy and hate removing eye makeup, but this removes so easily while it lasts all day (I remove with micellar water and only need one cotton pad).

Even though this isn’t waterproof, I haven’t had issues with smudging or smearing unless I use I use my thick zinc oxide sunscreens in the summer. even then it’s minimal. I have really bad allergies and my eyes water all the time so I used to religiously use waterproof mascara until this because it somehow manages to stay.

I haven’t tried their waterproof yet, but I plan to for those summer days when I slather on the thick oily sunscreen. Long story short, believe all the hype and buy it right now. It’s sorcery.

I’ve been using this mascara line for couple of years now and it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve used Purple one and recently thought to try green Lash Princess False lash effect. I have decent length straight lashes.

I didn’t use any lash curlers before application and still it gives thick false lashes look. I don’t mind clumpy thick lashes. I actually like that look instead of separate lashes. If your looking for very clean and individual lash look then this isn’t for you.

If you don’t mind thick chunkier lashes or them clamping togather then this is a beautiful budget friendly product. To show how this mascara is I didn’t wear anything at all other than mascara. Mascara wand is cone shape and it helps to lay down good amount of product but if you don’t want a lot don’t forget to wipe tip of wand.

There is no fall out and it’s not waterproof. For the purple princess mascara I’ll have separate review. But you can see the difference of wand shapes for the comparison. I love both.

The only non waterproof mascara that I have tried that really holds a curl! I have naturally long lashes that are on the straight side so skipping the lash curler is a big fat no. Waterproof formulas hold shape better than regular formulas but I don’t like doing that to my lashes all the time (they also always transfer to my brow bone bc oily skin) so this has been a miracle! A new fresh tube is absolutely incredible but it dries out surprisingly fast and the formula starts to get disappointing from there.

Pros: – Strangely good formula right off the bat from a fresh tube. Doesn’t need to dry out a little like many mascaras do before performing well. – Very defined, feathery, lashes – Holds a curl like waterproof – No flakes or crumbling with my oily skin – Easy to remove Cons: – Long dry time – All 3 tubes I used begin to dry out pretty quickly and the performance changes a lot.

I love the formula for the first few weeks and then it tends to get clumpy, sticky, cakey and turns into spider lash city. In my experience the fresher the formula the better it performs but I go reaching for a new tube much sooner than other mascaras.

Finally a waterproof alternative but I wish it lasted longer because it really is fantastic and I love the look!.

i use this mascara literally everyday and i love it so much. ive tried about 30-40 different mascaras and not one other mascara can compare to this one. i always always always come back to it i love it sooo much.

it gives a lot of length TONSS of volume and it does nottt clump up one bit!!!! i cant express how much i love this mascara it is perfectttt. and it doesn’t make me look like i haven’t slept in days, it has no fallout under the eyes whatsoever it is literally perfection.

like if you look in the dictionary a picture of the sky high mascara is the definition for perfection. also it is at an affordable price point unlike brands like benifit, anastasia beverly hills, tarte, too faced and so on.

i truly truly can not preach this enough. i pray to it everynight, morning, mid-day, afternoon, sunrise, mid-day afternoon snack, mid-night, and everything in between. i canttt with this mascara!!! i will keep using it untill the day i die and i will be put to rest with several by my side.

might as well just make a coffin out of all my tubes. anyways anther reason i love this product sooo much is because it last literaly for everrr ive been using it for nearly 3 years every single day and ive only went through two tubes, currently on my third going on my fourth soon.

ALSOO VERY IMPORTANT this does not make your lashes fallout at allll when on the other hand ive tried a few that have absolutely obliterated my eyelashes. so yeah im done with my rant, please buy this productttt, if youre trying do decide just go with it trust meee, it is like pure goldddd.

Bought this waterproof mascara due to the high reviews. Tried it three times and then threw it in the garbage. There is so much product on the brush that even when I removed most of it on the edge of the tube it still gooped onto my lashes and made them look like tarantula legs.

I had to take an eyelash comb and remove as many of the clumps as I could and even then it made my eyelashes look like Tammy Faye Baker’s. If you’re looking for totally unnatural, clumpy eye lashes then this is an awesome mascara, but it is one of the worst mascaras I have ever used and I have used a lot! I did give it one star because it IS actually water proof.

This mascara does make your eyelashes look full and thick, but I feel like that comes with a cost. It flakes off pretty badly, gets in my eyes and leaves them feeling irritated. After only a few weeks, it’s pretty darn clumpy coming out of the tube.

You can see there are tons of little bristles on the brush, but the brush comes out gobbed full of mascara, which goes on kind of clumpy. I guess I feel like I want my mascara to last a little longer and to not go clumpy/dry so quickly.

If you’re into the clumpy spider lashes look, this product might be your cup of tea, but sadly it’s not mine. I love this mascara, it both lengthens and volumizes perfectly. It separates my lashes and there’s no clumps.

I’ve purchased this three times now. Couple things I noticed is that you have to use it a few times first when you get it in order to fully coat the brush and get the effect you’re after. The other thing is that the opening of the tube gets a lot of mascara build up after a while, which can get messy.

I remove the gunk with an orange stick, no problems. There’s a reason this product is so highly rated: It rocks. I have beedy little pervert eyes, so I *need* mascara to open them up. Thanks to this product, I can finally swim without scaring my kids by looking like Tammy Fay Baker (Google her if you’re too young to know her).

Dove into the water multiple times and not a speck of mascara came off. It’s magical. Will admit my lashes are not as thick as when I use L’Oreal’s non-waterproof mascara. However, I’m so delighted to swim and keep my mascara on my lashes.

I would call this mascara water-resistant instead of waterproof. It held on tight through tears and watery allergy eyes, but it washed off of my lashes after maybe fifteen minutes of swimming in a chlorinated pool.

Maybe it would have stronger staying power in a lake. I’ve definitely used stronger waterproof formulas from other brands. That said, this one is by far my favorite “waterproof” mascara. My eyes are sensitive to ALL mascaras, but this one barely bothered them at all.

Because I have those eye allergies, this is now my go-to daily mascara. I’m not left with raccoon eyes at the end of my day, and my lashes are nice, fluffy, lightweight, black, and curled. It just wouldn’t be my #1 pick if I plan on swimming.

I like how light this mascara is! It is more waterproof than other mascaras I’ve tried so it does take some time to get off. I use coconut oil to get my makeup off anyway and that really helps more than wipes or the micellar water I have.

I like for my mascara to be smooth and pretty even on my lashes which this did. I also don’t like to have a lot of mascara on my lashes since I tend to put on strip lashes anyway. If you do like more mascara than I, this may not be for you since you make have to apply a few layers being that a lot of product doesn’t come out at once.

It’s not clumpy on the brush and doesn’t apply cumple either. The packaging is lightweight as well and product does not come out clumpy on the brush. I’d recommend it if you want something cheap, light and natural.

Definitely my new favourite mascara. I have to use waterproof as my eyes are ridiculously sensitive. I like lashes to be defined and I have to curl them beforehand because they are short and stubby. This mascara applies really well, lashes look long and defined.

The mascara dries quickly meaning it holds the curl and can be layered really easily. The brush is quite large which means it can be messy upon application, but nothing that can’t be cleaned up with a cotton bud or by applying an eye base first.

Lastly, it is definitely waterproof – I swam in the sea and it stayed on. Will definitely be buying again.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to LOVE this mascara. I wanted this to be the one for me, the one mascara that ended like 10+ years of me trying out different mascaras from different brands and never being satisfied with the results.

I wanted this one to be the one that finally checked all my boxes and actually lived up to all its claims. Especially since the company is so dedicated to giving back to communities in need, I loved that part and I still love that, regardless of how I feel about the mascara.

Unfortunately, the mascara did not work for me. It was a little finnicky to apply, the formula is very, VERY wet, so I always tried to work fast with it. The first time I used it, I only did 2 coats for each eye, the eye I started with my lashes looked clumpy, spidery, and were weighed down by the formula.

But my second eye looked great!– the lashes were long, feathery, separated, defined– at least for the first few hours. Then both my eyes the lashes became very weighed down by the formula and they started flaking quite a bit, getting black mascara chunks all over my face and some even in my eyes, which was uncomfortable.

But I after that first day I thought maybe I did something wrong so I continued to use the mascara for about a month. I tried everything I could think of to apply it. I tried wiping excess mascara off the wand with a tissue before applying, focusing on the base of my lashes, focusing just on the tips, turning the wand direction, rolling the wand, flicking the wand, pressing with the wand focusing on only certain points of my lashes, I watched several YouTube video tutorials on how to use the mascara but no matter what I just could not get it to look good consistently.

Even when I would think I had come up with a technique that seemed to work, when I would apply the mascara again for a few days in a row using that same method, the results would be mixed at best, and at worst they would get progressively worse.

That’s without even mentioning the fact that the mascara never lasted unscathed to the end of the day, continuing to flake flake, sometimes to the point of almost seemingly to have flaked completely off, but I know that’s not the case because I would still get little black chunks in the sink after my initial oil cleanse every night.

I finally gave up on the mascara after one night time removal that particularly spooked me, to say the least. I had had I bad day for some reason that day and when I met up with my boyfriend for a casual date that night I ended up ugly crying to him about it.

It was embarrassing how messy the mascara, it got reactivated by my tears and became a streaky, wet, but somehow STILL flakey mess. I did my best to wipe it all off and by the time I got home about an hour later and when I went to remove my makeup some of my lashes SNAPPED OFF with the mascara!!! And yes, I’m sure it wasn’t just the mascara and how it comes off in tubes because I could see the base of my lashes hair sticking out of the bottom of the “tube”, I noticed several lashes exactly like this.

And the next day I decided not to use the mascara anymore because I did notice some thin spots along one of my upper lash lines. I have since found through some Google research that tubing mascaras can be drying to eyelashes in the right (or more like wrong) circumstances, and dry eyelashes are more likely to break.

Crying and then not being able to properly remove the mascara for an hour so may be one of those circumstances. I’m not saying this mascara is bad, I don’t think think that. I’m just saying I know it’s not for me, and to be honest, now I don’t even tubing mascaras in general are for me.

From what I’ve discovered online since my experience with this mascara, it seems like people either love or hate tubing mascaras, like they just do or don’t work for them for whatever reason. For me, it doesn’t and I won’t be buying this mascara again or recommending it to anyone because I just can’t do that in good faith after the experience I had.

But that definitely does not mean I have given up on this company and will never buy from them again, on the contrary, I’d love to find thrive products I can’t live without and hope to try some more of their products– just never this mascara again.

I just used the mascara that I received for the first time, and while I don’t usually leave negative reviews this went beyond not liking the product so I had to share. Going on the mascara was okay, didn’t love the brush because it took a lot of swipes and wiggles to get my lashes evenly coated, but since I work 12hr over night shifts often wearing a face shield or safety glasses, I had high hopes for this waterproof mascara.

Also being in Florida humidity I was hopeful it wouldn’t smudge or give me raccoon eyes. Well I will say that it has staying power and didn’t smudge or leave marks on my glasses all night which is my it gets 2 stars instead of one.

Then comes trying to remove my makeup so I start with a makeup removing wipe, following the instructions on the product page and it’s literally flaking off and all over my face, with quite a bit left on my lashes.

I then used makeup wipe #2 and same issue, black flecks all around my eyes and cheeks, and this time several lashes came off with the black specks. Then when I can see the wipes aren’t working I switch to eye make up remover liquid on a cotton round, letting it sit a bit on my lashes to try and loosen it up….

nope black flakes and more lashes on first one, number two still had significant black flecks, and using a magnifying mirror I can see to my horror that there is still mascara on my lashes. At this point I also still have the flecks on my face so I try eye makeup remover one more time, and then to get the last bits off my lashes and face I followed up with a third makeup remover wipe.

I have worn many mascaras, waterproof and regular and NEVER had to work this hard to remove it. I was very gentle and not rubbing my lashes or pulling them so it was frustrating for a product designed to enhance, to do the opposite causing me to lose lashes instead.

It’s not something I will use again, but it’s not worth the hassle of returning it either. Love the eye brightener, the mascara is just not for me!.

I’ve been using mascara since middle school & I’m now old(er) and, therefore, experienced. It’s taken almost a lifetime, during which I suspect I’ve tried using almost every mascara in existence. So many failures for me; so much money wasted–until now! This mascara is awesome! My sensitive eyes are no longer a problem.

From barely visible, scant, and short, my eyelashes are transformed to full and long. I quickly discovered it has no negative effects that every mascara tried previously has had: No flaking, itchy and red eyes anymore, and, using my usual eye makeup remover, removing it at night is quick and easy.

I must admit, after reading the few negative reviews, I did hesitate in making my purchase. However, thinking it wouldn’t end any worse than its trashed predecessors, I took (yet another) chance. I’m thrilled I made the right decision and will be ordering more, as well as trying other Thrive products.

I do have just one negative comment and that’s not even about the mascara: The shipping was fast, but the mascara didn’t arrive in a tightly sealed box and the wand (applicator) itself wasn’t secured (wound down) as tightly as I thought it should and would be.

In reflection, I probably should have returned it along with an explanation, but I didn’t want to take the time nor incur an additional expense. I might easily have never known I was holding my ideal mascara.

Having said that, I must add that if you feel as I did, that you’ve tried more than your share of mascaras, yet continue searching for your ideal, I suggest and highly recommend giving this mascara a try.

I’ve been using this mascara for a couple years now and have a continuous love/hate relationship with it. Application of this mascara is an art – so you will need to spend some time finding what works for you and that is pretty annoying.

I’ve never had to be so careful when applying a mascara. It is very thick and gooey and clumps your lashes together if you’re not careful. I do not follow their recommended application AT ALL – it just leaves me with a giant uni-lash.

I have literally had to remove the mascara and start over. I have found that holding the brush steady and the bottom of my lashes and slowly and softly blinking my lashes across the brush helps to minimize clumping and over application of the product.

It is a little heavy and I have found that my curl does not hold as well or as long. I also have very sensitive eyes and it does irritate them at times. Not sure if it is the formula or if they have used silicone in the brush? It does an amazing job of lengthening your lashes.

It does stay put all day but I occasionally have some flaking. It NEVER smears or causes raccoon eyes though! The black is deep and rich and helps bring life to tiny baby lashes. Removal is so easy and gentle on your lashes and eyes – love that part so much.

Overall I do really like it and would recommend. Just be patient when applying and figure out what works for your lashes.

Mascara woes, in general: Have you started using a mascara and thought “Wow! This is the best stuff ever!” but a month down the road, it just isn’t as great as it was on day one? Either it doesn’t separate lashes as well, or the lengthening ability seems to have quit working or.

it’s just not the same as it was when you first started using it. That is my love/hate relationship with mascara throughout my entire 33 years of makeup-wearing. Pros: I received this on Thursday and I love it! My top & bottom lashes look longer and they are oh-so-nicely separated.

when they say black, they actually mean it. it’s not a dark gray and it covers all of my very fine, naturally dark blonde lashes well. Four stars instead of five because: Making my lashes look thicker doesn’t seem to be on the menu for this mascara in one coat.

Two coats about 30 seconds apart from one another does give them a bit more oomph, although not a lot. This mascara’s future in my world: Right now, I would say that I will buy the full size of this mascara when I run out of the mini.

that is, if it doesn’t lose it’s mojo with my lashes after a few weeks like every other mascara I’ve ever tried has done. if I do keep using this mascara, I will likely layer it with a second mascara that gives volume but lacks in the ability to separate and lengthen.

Mascara is such a subjective product; different people have different lashes and lids and desire different effects. For that reason, I can’t outright pan this mascara, but I was really disappointed that the formula didn’t give me the results I look for.

I have dark, straight lashes of varying lengths and density, fairly dry lids, and I go for a “My Face But Better” look when doing my makeup. My favorite mascaras tend to be 1) long-wearing tubing formulas that give my lashes a boost without being obvious 2) non-clumping, non-flaking formulas I can swipe on and forget about for the rest of the day, and 3) easy to remove with my regular micellar water at the end of the day.

2 of my HG mascaras-They’re Real Tinted Primer and They’re Real in shade Mink Brown-are not only made by Benefit but *part of this mascara line*. I was really excited about this VoxBox, but They’re Real MAGNET just missed the mark for me.

I’m including photos for comparison, but the first thing I noticed was the wand. They’re Real/Primer and even Roller Lash have thin, very flexible wands; however, the MAGNET wand is stiff and much thicker.

You can tell it is meant to grab more product, and it does. The first time I used MAGNET, the product application was so thick and goopy I had to go back through my lashes with a clean wand to separate my lashes.

Bit of a hassle, but they looked nice when I’d finished. A few hours later, I had to remove one of my contacts because something was in my eye: the culprit ended up being 2 big flecks of mascara 🙁 I wrote it off as user error, and decided to scrape off the excess on the tube before use next time to avoid a repeat.

I also made a note that the mascara didn’t come off with Bioderma and my second cleanse that first evening. The second time I wore MAGNET, I scraped off the excess on the tube and applied carefully. The formula feels very thick, almost like dried out Roller Lash.

I think this could give a volumizing effect, but it made my uneven length lashes clump together again. I separated them out with a lash tool but felt like I had spider-leg lashes. I was sweeping fallout from my undereyes all day but still had a hard time removing the mascara.

If you oil-cleanse regularly, removal shouldn’t be a problem (I just didn’t have an oil or biphasic on hand and had to hunt one down). As with all mascaras, I’d recommend purchasing in travel size first to see if this works for you before committing to the full size.

I get lash lifts every couple months to give my lashes a boost. Sometimes between lifts different lashes curl/fall at different rates. Most mascaras are too heavy and only make this worse or emphasize the falling lashes by clumping on them.

This mascara does an amazing job of being my “base” mascara. I know it sounds crazy but I’ve found a combo that works. The brush really helps separate my lashes and comb/set them with adding some thickness (something my spoolie cant do).

The formula is light and airy enough that it almost acts as a “hairspray” for your lashes. I then top from mid shaft to the tips with the essence lash princess false lash effect mascara and boom they are huge.

Sometimes hard to justify the price point but I haven’t found anything else that helps tame my lashes and is light enough that it wont look like clumpy early 2000s spider lashes and it takes me quite awhile to get through a tube.

If you are looking for one mascara to do it all it is not my favorite but if you want something that holds your lashes while separating and lifting them I highly recommend this one!.

Ohhhh, where to even start on this particular mascara??? Okay, first off I’ll say this tube lasts freakishly long (without drying out) so it’s shelf life does not apply to the typical toss out after a couple of months rule (imo)! This mascara is actually just solid, really.

No muss, no fuss, always there for you in a pinch no matter where you are and you kinda gotta love it just for that much alone! I highly recommend this mascara as a quick fix substitute if ever in an emergency, like you’re on vacation for a wedding and forgot to pack your usual mascara type of thing! All of Maybelline mascaras are too large and bulky for myself to carry around daily, but I do have a drawer in my makeup vanity that’s dedicated just to them this one is definitely is the best overall mascara available, if ya ask me! This wand is particularly good for creating fullness, but not so great for volume curl… it’s also not ideal for lower lashes, but it still works fine, which is why I feel like it really is a great mascara temp stand-in if you ever need one! And it’s definitely cheap enough for literally anyone to buy, I’ve even seen it for sale in my own local Dollar Tree, just saying!.

This has been a staple in my make-up bag for over 30 years and I’ll buy it as long as they make it. I prefer the curved brush, but regardless, have used the straight one, the formula is the same. It’s a great buildable lengthening mascara It doesn’t clump and it’s great for seperating the lashes.

It doesn’t really give you any volume, though I’ve paired it with others that do in order to get that look, and have had great success. The volumizing mascaras, even high end ones tend to clump more, so I often use this as like a primer, it keeps my lashes from clumping together with some of the thicker formulas.

I’ve tried everyrhing from Dior, which I did enjoy, though I liked it better under this, to bare minerals strength length and everything in between. I do really like the bare minerals, especially the wand, and Il Makiage Icon, which is a new fav surprisingly to me, but this mascara will always be in my kit.

This is not about Maybelline New York Great Lash Real Impact Washable Mascara – Brownish Black (Pack of 6) I came here to say. I FINALLY figured out how to get my Impact points to go up!!! Unfortunately, it seems like it is now solely based on how many “followers” or “friends” that you have on all of the social media platforms you have connected to Influenster.

So when you get more friends or followers, it doesn’t update your score automatically, you have to tap on “Impact” and disconnect whichever social media that you got the increase, then reconnect it again.

They are all listed in one place once you tap on your “Impact score”. It’s very easy to do. You just switch the switch that is next to the social media you want to reset and then go back to that page and switch it back on.

Mine “Impact score” was stuck since I started on this site about a year ago and never heard any response about why it doesn’t go up or why is it so low compared to others or why does it just seem stuck? I have used, over the last few years, many different mascaras – from Tom Ford and Fenty to Smashbox and Lancôme – and all came up wanting at the end of a long day. I received a sample of this mascara and was intrigued enough to purchase the real deal.

And I was right to do so. This mascara goes on easily – no clumping – and the two ends make my short, full lashes look beautiful. And best of all – drumroll please – it doesn’t flake, transfer, or smudge throughout a full 10 hour day.

I am a 50+ woman so this is very important to me; many mascaras go on looking nice but by the end of the day most mascara has either left little black flakes under my eyes (NOT CUTE!) or smudged or transferred to the upper part of my hooded eyelid.

This mascara doesn’t do that AT ALL. To the point where it can be a little hard to take off – I have to use a makeup remover on a cotton pad and let it soak off much of the mascara and then go to my regular face cleaning regime to get the remnants off.

But I’ll take the extra time and care because this mascara is just so good! I definitely recommend.

I am a mascara lover, and this is the best I have tried. I usually do love layering multiple mascaras because even with no other makeup, I think good eyelashes can really help you look awake. I don’t know how to apply false lashes and I really don’t like how heavy they can look, so I use 3 mascaras to get some length and volume.

With this being double sided, I really don’t need to use another product at all; it’s doing the work of 3 with the two! I thought Too Faced Better Than Sex was good, but this is way better than Better Than Sex! Incredible.

I also have oily skin/eyelids and sometimes my mascara gets into my eyes causing irritation after a full day of wear, but this did not move. I bought the mini size for on the go when I don’t have time in the morning to put my typical work face on, and this delivers.

I will definitely be buying the full size once I’m done with the mini. Are my days of layering 3 mascaras over? Time will tell, but I am in love with this mascara!.

I bought this because I liked the idea of being able to customize your lash look according to your mood, but so far, it’s not working for me. The formulas of both mascaras are too thick & clumpy, & you need to remove a lot of excess from the brush to minimize clumping.

The lengthening one seemed to work better at first because it smeared less & held up the curl of my lashes better than the volumizing one, which easily smeared & weighed my lashes down. After a few weeks though, the lengthening one did the same thing as the volumizing one, & whichever one I use, I have to layer with different mascara that’s long-wearing & much more curling to make it work on myself.

It’s also too expensive for the amount of hassle I have to go through just to be able to make it usable. I have a drugstore staple that works so much better on me than this one. I don’t recommend this product.

Love this brand and love this mascara!! The color payoff is incredible after just one layer. I also love that it has natural ingredients, such as hemp oil, that helps condition your lashes while you are wearing it.

I have natural red hair, which means my lashes are naturally a strawberry blonde color. I do have long, thick lashes naturally, but because they are so pale they are almost invisible without a good mascara.

This deep black mascara really helped my pale lashes stand out, and there have been several occasions when I have worn only this mascara and a little foundation and highlighter for an easy, quick makeup look in the mornings.

The mascara volumizes and lengthens my lashes and makes them pop so much that no other eye makeup is even needed unless you want to go for a very dramatic look. I also did not have any issues with flaking or clumping, and the applicator was able to pick up even my smallest lashes and coat them with ease.

I would highly suggest you pick this up whenever you can!.

I love clean/vegan/cruelty-free brands so I was excited to try this mascara! The brush reminds me of the Diorshow mascara which I like, but the formula is just way too “soft” for my lashes. I do like a bit of crunch and hold in my mascara and the KUSH mascara is advertised to have a soft formula with Hemp oil (so basically the opposite of what I like).

So when using this mascara, my lashes don’t stiffen, they are just kind of limp and the more coats I apply, the heavier my lashes get and they kinda start dropping straight and feel/look limp. I’ll use this up when I don’t feel like wearing too much make-up and just want to throw on something for a little darkening definition around my eyes.

Overall, I enjoyed sampling it but I wouldn’t repurchase the full size. I’d honestly love to see a formula with more hold from Milk Cosmetics as I appreciate the more natural formulas opposed to other brands! 💪🏼💪🏼.

This was possibly one of the best mascaras I have ever used. Immediately upon taking it out of the box I realized it was definitely a cut above, though. It has such a weighted, indestructible feel to it, lol.

Hands down the best packaging of mascara I’ve ever encountered. The actual product itself does not disappoint either. Application is great, the wand has thigh, big bristles and the product actually comes out WITH the wand… (side note: try not to do the “pumping” of your mascara if product won’t come out of it bc all that does it add air into the bottle and in turn will just dry it out faster!!) The mascara stays on and doesn’t flake throughout the day- no raccoon eyes! But at the same time it is easy to remove once the day/night is over! Definitely recommend this product! At Sephora they even have a travel size if you don’t want to commit to buying the full size at first! I did receive this from influenster yet in exchange for my honest review!.

This is the one for me, thank you so MUCH SELENA GOMEZ. It’s the ONLY non-waterproof mascara I’ve bought that doesn’t leave me looking like a raccoon at the end of the day. Literally no smudges, no giant flakes under my eyes, the perfect length and volume.

It looks absolutely amazing, I do wish it held my curl up for longer but honestly no mascara I’ve ever tried was able to hold my curls up for more than 10mins. This one can for about an hour if I curl it after it’s all dry.

Speaking of dry, the formula is the perfect amount of wet and dry. It’s not too wet that it clumps immediately and brings down your lashes but it’s only not that dry that it won’t do anything and you have to struggle to get the product on.

This is absolutely perfect. DONT EVER CHANGE THIS FORMULA. The only mascara that has come close to this is the Lash Princess by essence which is still nice and inexpensive but always leaves me with black under eyes.

A close combo is also the L’Oréal voluminous curved brushed + Maybelline Sky High BUT that combo I save for big day events because it is a pain to wipe off. Speaking of brushes and wiping off- my god this mascara is so easy to take off, I use the makeup eraser with water and that’s all it needs.

Reminds me of the simplicity of the EmCosmetics mascara. ALSO I struggled with the wand at first because it’s so fluffy but after the third day I finally got the hang of these bristles. I was excited to try this mascara. I’ve been looking for a new mascara or should I say, I’m always looking for the perfect mascara. I had high hopes for this castor oil based mascara, it’s a deep black, it claims to hug every lash, while lifting ,lengthening, separates every lash.

Now, let’s see what it really does. I applied this to completely dry, bare lashes it definitely is a nice deep black, it coats lashes w ease, as far as I can tell, it doesn’t smear if you rub your eyes.

However, it does tend to flake it’s a little clumpy. I really do like that it doesn’t make your lashes crispy feeling, bt after applying the first coat, I did notice a lot of clumps. I worked it from base to the tip of my lashes, bt it still left little globs as I tried to apply a second coat.

This was disappointing. It doesn’t give a natural look to lashes either, it thickens lashes, bt I just couldn’t get passed the globy look. It doesn’t smear at all, as I kept rubbing my eyes, bt it seemed to take off the mascara off of the ends of my lashes, giving them a stubbier look.

Maybe if you already have really dark, thick lashes, this would be a nice addition, bt if you have fair lashes or shorter lashes, this could be an issue. I have rather long lashes, bt they’re blonde at the ends, so they look nonexistent.

I look for a mascara that lengthens w/o clumping a mascara that doesn’t flake. Unfortunately, this probably isn’t the mascara for me, bt it’s not a terrible mascara, just not for me. The packaging is simple bt nice, it has a clean look costs about $20, depending on where you purchase it.

Overall, it’s a nice mascara, bt not one I’d repurchase.

I really wanted to love this mascara but after weeks of use, it just isn’t for me. I found a couple things that I really disliked about this mascara, some of these could be reasons why you would like this mascara though: – Difficult to remove with my makeup remover.

I wear a full face of makeup everyday so I like to remove it using a makeup removing oil, and this mascara does not come off with my makeup oil. I have to really rub my lashes and it makes my lashes fall out which doesn’t happen with other mascaras.

However, I found it comes off easily with just water! Which is probably great for those who just wear mascara, but makes it difficult for me because I still need to use my makeup remover and if I apply my makeup removing oil on top of wet skin, it doesn’t remove my makeup properly.

So if you just wear mascara you’ll find this super easy to remove! – Difficult to apply. I find this is quite a liquid-y mascara, which makes it messy to apply. I often get it all over my eyelids and under my eyes when applying it and once it’s on, it’s difficult to remove.

This is nice for those who are looking for a mascara that won’t flake off – it really doesn’t flake, it’s so difficult for me to flake off any excess that gets on my eyelids. Gotta have a steady hand for this mascara! – lastly, and a more personal reason, I simply just don’t like how it looked on me.

I prefer a volumizing mascara that will fan my lashes out, but it just lengthened my lashes and kept them in their original place. I really wanted to love it because I’ve loved every other rare beauty product I’ve tried but it just wasn’t for me.

Doesn’t mean it won’t be for you though! My coworker had this mascara on and it looked GORGEOUS on her, I thought she had extensions on! If the reasons I listed above are things that might make you like a mascara, then give this a try.

If you’re like me though, you might not like it.

I can’t comprehend how this mascara has such high ratings. I’ve purchased it twice in the last two years. Both times it has been the WORST mascara to touch my eyelashes. I wanted to like it and hoped that it was me not the product, but second time around I’ve concluded its 100% the product, not user error.

Right out of a new tube it’s a thick, HEAVY formula. Heavy as in dense, gloopy and weighty, making it impossible to get an even distribution of product throughout the lashes. It doesn’t build, only makes lashes stick together.

Weighs down lashes to pin straight & impossible to hold a curl. Feels and looks incredibly heavy on the eyes. The kicker, it flakes like nobody’s business! I can’t decide which is worse about it ; the clumping or the flaking.

By the third use, the wand is so overloaded with gunky product I don’t even want to touch the stuff anymore. The formula gets seemingly thicker & thicker by the day. By the second week it’s basically unusable unless you are willing to spend your whole morning wiping away and wasting a huge excess of product from the wand, only to find yourself unable to achieve your desired result.

Total waste of time and money. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and get yourself ANY mascara but this. Even at 50% off, it’s not worth it.

I’ve been wearing mascara since I was 12 years old, so a lot of years! That’s many brands, drug store and high end and I can’t possibly remember them all. However, I remember the worst & and the best among them.

This mascara by IT cosmetics is by far, one of the very best! It both lengthens and adds volume in one formula, one tube of great black mascara. This makes getting ready for work in the morning or any other time a breeze.

I used to apply two different mascaras every time I put on my makeup; one for length and one for volume. That’s not necessary with this one by IT cosmetics. I’ve just purchased three of the travel size, one for myself and two for friends who I introduced to this formula some time ago and now they love it as much as I do.

The travel size is great because the brush is the same as in the full size tube, yet the shorter wand helps me avoid getting black marks on my nose when i have to reach my hand across my face to do my second eye.

I took one star off as it does tend to dry out just a bit faster than I’d like it to. However, I don’t enjoy it when a a mascara starts out very wet and this one is just right so, that’s the trade off.

My main concern was getting a mascara that was going to be healthy for my lashes and not detrimental where they would fall apart. I Love It cosmetics because she puts good quality ingredients into her makeup to benefit your hair or skin.

I feel like with eyelashes since it’s hair you have to go with higher quality ingredients. I love the way they lengthen and make my eyelashes look the first time I used it and I really enjoy taking it off because I feel like there’s not that much difference when I take off the mascara, it’s natural.

I feel like it helps my lashes grow. I just wish this was waterproof, it does run a bit or if I make a mistake it’s so easy to erase. The stupid mistake I did was roll the mascara brush around; it had too much product thus made my lashes clumpy.

But I read in the store on the stand or on the box it says to use a brush on your eye lashes. I use a shadow brush to work out the kinks or my fingers then I’m good! For other ppl that gave it a thumbs down, more than likely user error.

Lol. Just remove excess product. it’s malleable and can get good results. It’s a good mascara without looking like you have ridiculous moth lashes. Hahaha.

I loved the colored mascaras that were available way back in the 80s, and I’m very happy to see colors making a comeback. I got the green to compliment my summertime teal hair. It is a subtle and dark green, but it’s there.

(I will be trying the blue, when I go back to my winter blue hair. ) The mascara lasted just fine through my work day (I work in an office situation), but I see it would be problematic if I had a more sweat-inducing job, wore it to the gym, or wore it to go dancing.

How about doing these in a waterproof formula, elf? Also, I would love to see a purple added to the line, and maybe a black-cherry color. As for the big brush, it does take some getting used to. I use the waterproof Big Mood formula in black, and have since it came out, and, frankly, I felt like a kid using those chunky toddler crayons at first.

I hated it. And I made a mess of it. Practice made perfect, though, and now I love the big wand – It holds a ton of product in it’s teddy-bear-like bristles, and I can really build my lashes up to incredible fullness and length, without the dreaded tarantula-leg clumping.

So, ladies, I recommend practicing with the brush before you decide you hate it forever.

Can we first acknowledge how Elf nails the game while remaining so affordable?? I mean, c’mon. It is so easy to end up with a disaster when trying to find a drug store mascara that hits all of the marks for your dream mascara.

I wasn’t expecting much from this one but I was pleasantly surprised by it’s performance. I’m an oily gal; eye makeup runs into my eyes and mascara burns them all of the time. This is the biggest thing I look for in mascaras (I do not like waterproof mascaras) this formula did not give me that issue.

This is a drier formula, no issues with transfer or flaking. It’s a big, hourglass shaped wand packed with bristles. It’s meant to help separate and add volume to your lashes. It did do that for me and I did not have any issues applying them to my bottom lashes but I am very patient when applying mascara and some with mobility issues may run into some difficulty.

Overall I would say this is a safe option for me in times where I need something and don’t want to break the bank but it’s missing a wow factor (for me). It was almost there. Mascara I feel is a very personal item to give feedback but everyone is after different things and everyone’s lashes behave differently; keep that in mind when sifting through reviews.

I received this product free to review from Top Box. Elf’s Big Mood mascara is more like a Big Disappointment. The only *big* thing about this product is the obnoxiously large mascara wand that you have to use.

The brush is larger than your eyes, which makes it extremely difficult to work with, especially when trying to reach your corner lashes. It takes about 3 applications of the mascara to get any lift and volume.

It’s unfortunate that the downfall of this product is the mascara wand. The formula itself is nice, and the metallic purple packaging is very pretty. The lash definition alone is wonderful, and creates a perfect, wispy lash for a no-makeup makeup look.

I think the best way to apply this product is to use your regular mascara for volume, then to apply this mascara on top for lash separation. However, don’t wear this mascara on a rainy day or during a sad movie.

It runs like crazy! It was cold and windy when I walked my dog today, which caused my eyes to water. When I came inside I looked like a raccoon! #freeproduct #trywithtopbox.

I’ve always used a “higher end” mascara that has similar claims as lash slick; natural, lengthening, etc. The reason it took me so long to pull the trigger with lash slick (even though it’s almost half the price) is that while I already have pretty long lashes, they are on the straighter side, and I wasn’t sure that it would give me the subtle curl I wanted.

If anyone else has this same concern, don’t! I found that it created a nice natural curl to my lashes that makes them more visible. It also does everything else it claims, adding a little extra length, and fanning your lashes out in a very pretty, non clumpy way.

It also never smudges or flakes, and is easy to wash off with warm water. I only have two qualms with this product, the first being that I don’t feel like the “fibers” are necessary. To me, they make the application trickier, as they sometimes go on in the wrong direction, making the look a little messier, and don’t do a lot to lengthen.

Also, compared to my other favorite dark black mascara, lash slick has a slightly bluish or greyish cast that isn’t super noticeable, but also kind of counteracts the illusion that you aren’t wearing mascara.

I know I’m being SUPER picky here, as this isn’t something most people would care about or even notice, but for a product that I was hoping would be my HG mascara, I wish they’d change that one thing.

The effect is still super gorgeous though, and I absolutely recommend this and think it’s 100% worth the price if you don’t think these things will bother you. I will definitely be using up my bottle :).

In one sentence, yes – it works for fine, straight lashes (!). This is my 2nd Glossier purchase; I was a huge brand skeptic but have been pleasantly surprised. My situation: I have long but fine, straight lashes that normally get weighed down by most mascaras, lose their curl and stick straight out.

About 3 years ago I decided to stop wearing mascara and invest in Latisse and tinting so I could go mascara free on the daily without extensions or looking like a child. I have no idea what inspired me to go out on a limb and try this, but I’m SO GLAD I did.

Lash slick does what it says: gives you fluttery, lengthened, natural-looking lashes that don’t flake or get stuck together, and it actually holds my curl. I’m shooketh. I honestly thought I would never want to wear mascara again but I love this stuff.

I have super oily skin that can cause disastrous under-eye smudges, but I’m on my first few weeks of Accutane and have been moisturizing like a monster and there was very minimal flaking, and really only upon my initial brush-out on application, or at the end of the day.

No smudging, no significant clumping. This product seems to be really buildable. If you love a hyper-dramatic lash then you probably won’t love this as much as I do, but my fine (already semi-long) lashes looked so, so natural (important for me as I’m a 30-y/o in healthcare) but prettier.

I finally understand the Glossier look and love it. I think the trick to it is to know which products will and won’t work for your particular skin type and just go for the things that are suited to your needs.

Lash slick, boy brow, cloud paint and some balm dotcom are the perfect casual/workplace daytime look for me (paired with a touch of powder and my tinted sunscreen), but it’s not invisible-natural. Glossier honestly makes me feel like a teenager again, but in a good way.

I thought the products were for the already-perfect, but honestly, they do a pretty good job of getting me there.

I purchased Lash Slick a little over two months ago, and instead of forming an immediate opinion like I usually do with a new beauty product, I waited. I wanted to see how often and under what circumstances I chose this mascara.

Mascara is probably my favorite makeup item to purchase, and I’ve collected some quality examples from high-end companies as well as drugstores. I’m very fortunate to have long lashes, but they’re thin and fine.

I am always eager to try a new mascara that promises to make them look thicker and fuller, so I snapped up Glossier’s version. Initially, I was fairly pleased with my results. I wasn’t blown away by the dramatic transformation of my fantasies, but I chalked it up as a decent addition to my mascara arsenal.

To my surprise, over the past two months, Lash Slick has been the mascara I reach for nearly every day. It’s become my go-to for work, meet-ups with friends, errands, and anytime I want to look polished but not overdone.

It gives me a natural, clean look that makes my lashes stand out for all the good reasons. Unlike my mega-blast-punch-you-in-the-face volumizing and curling formulas, Lash Slick is simple and quick to apply, and it doesn’t end up transferring to my lids or brows.

I don’t need a separate lash comb to remove clumps, and it lasts all day without flaking. I wasn’t sure why I would ever need a water-resistant mascara. I never wear waterproof mascara unless it’s to a wedding or funeral because I dread removing it (and losing lashes in the process).

It turns out a water-resistant formula was what I’ve really been looking for, I just didn’t know it. This feature means that Glossier’s mascara doesn’t melt or smudge in 99 degree weather, and it doesn’t run in the rain or if I shed a few tears when I laugh too hard or get a little emotional.

Honestly, I had no idea how much I was crying in a given day. And Lash Slick is quicker and more painless to remove than most of my other mascaras. I love it, guys, and that’s that.

Benefit Cosmetic’s Roller Lash Super Curling Lifting Mascara is one of my top 3 favorite mascaras! I’ve tried SEVERAL mascaras but always end up buying Roller Lash again! First off, I love the packaging.

I mean who doesn’t love a peachy pink, black combo? The wand handle has a soft textured netted pattern overlayed on top of your standard plastic, but this extra touch and detail gives this mascara a more luxurious and special feel to it.

The wand itself is a nice design with the right amount of flex that you would want with a mascara; flexible enough to evenly cover your eyelashes without too much give that it just lightly caresses you (no butterfly kisses with this one!).

The curved applicator is covered with plastic bristles that are tightly packed in the inner curvature of the wand and more loosely on the outer curvature. This provides you options when applying depending on your eyelash type and desired effect.

The formula is nice and creamy and doesn’t clump. This formula combined with the wand design makes application a dream. The more loosely packed bristles on the outer curvature separates evenly coats your lashes to give some volume while the inner curve can be used to add some curviness to otherwise straight eyelashes.

Best of all, no raccoon eyes by the end of the night! 🦝 This mascara is pricier than its drug store brand competitors, but if you’re looking to splurge on something new then give this a try. PLUS it’s not uncommon for ULTA to have a killer deal on Benefit Cosmetics mascaras so just be patient if you’re looking to save a little! 🤑.

It’s a pattern at this point. I finish a tube of Roller Lash, I switch to something more affordable. Then back to Roller Lash, and it repeats. The alternatives fall short every time, which always leads me back to Roller Lash.

I just haven’t found anything better for my straight, sparse lashes. It lifts, seperates, gives good volume and is super black with two coats. 2 coats is the max with this one; more than 2 and you’re asking for chunky lashes.

With some finesse and use of the spikey bristled brush in a strategic manner, my lashes never clump during application with two coats. They end up perfectly seperated, lifted, volumized and blacker than black every single time.

I love the effect and it’s consistent. There is a slight learning curve I think given the unusual texture of the product. It’s a tacky formula, not exactly wet, meaning it’s malliable to a certain point.

There’s enough play time with the formula that I’m able to manipulate my lashes with the brush as I apply the mascara in order to get them as seperated and full as I like. But past two coats the formula will begin to work against me, so I stop at two and it is perfect.

It doesn’t completely set like a typical mascara but it doesn’t transfer or remain wet either. It just means the lashes have slight tack when touched after it’s set, the formula doesn’t flake and lashes stay in place.

It’s seriously the best mascara, namely for how it makes my lashes look. But equally as important is it does not flake, not even a little, which is a problem I have with almost all concentional mascaras.

My one and only gripe is that newer tubes dry up sooner than old tubes did. They may have changed the formula along the way, I’m not sure. But I remember distinctly the formula being a little less thick, which meant it spread a bit easier on lashes and less product went further.

I notice I now have to do more wiggling at the base and tips of my lashes to get product to come off from the brush, but once it gets going it’s no problem. Just something I’ve picked up on over the years using this mascara.

I’m using Tarte Gifted at the moment and it’s pretty good, but I need my Roller Lash back. It simply can’t be beat.

This is one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite mascara of all time. And I am generally a harsh mascara critic! This lifts, curls, and separates without clumps and provides length and volume.

It is more dramatic looking if you add several layers but it can be more natural with less swipes. And it lasts all day! No smudges or flakes! Looks essentially as good at the end of the day, I’m not exaggerating! My only complaint is it wears almost like a waterproof formula, which is great for how long it lasts – but it takes some tugging and rubbing to remove which I loathe because I’m afraid of ripping eyelashes out.

I’m nearly forty and after decades of mascara like this, I’m starting to gravitate more towards the clean brands that don’t last quite as long but wash off so so so easily. I’m starting to use this more for special occasions or long days when I want to look especially put together all day, and using milk kush or Selena Gomez every day because they are gentler.

I received this item to try through the ELF perks. The packaging is in your face beautiful as usual. I did have more dislikes than likes though. It is decent for its price don’t get me wrong. In my opinion the shape of the brush didn’t fit well with my eyelid shape.

I have asian eyes and my lashes are also not too long so have a dip in the centre of the brush made it difficult for me to apply it with one swoop. I actually had to use the spots where the brush were at a higher point to brush each section of my lashes.

The formula is not water proof. It also did not provide a ton of length as I had hoped, though it did extend it out a bit. I left it on all morning and did not touch my eyes at all, but from moving my eyes around (looking up, looking down) the mascara rubbed off on my upper lid and beneath my lower lashes.

It is cold so it could not be me sweating it off. I also noticed as I was cleaning off the smudges that crusty bits of the mascara fell off and onto my lower as well. Overall, it is not anything special, but ELF is a very affordable make up brand and this mascara would work just fine.

I’m generally the type to like my makeup to stay in place the whole day without touch ups, but if you are the type to touch up throughout the day it shouldn’t be a big deal to clean it off at the same time.

Good for the price.

YSL Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara gave my lashes really great volume with one coat. I like Va-Va-Voom lashes so I normally do at 3-4 coats of mascara to achieve my desired look. I was really shocked that I only needed 2 coats of this mascara to build up and achieve mega volume.

The brush was loaded with enough product to coat both lashes and it grabbed and coated all my lashes. I only wish it was a little more tapered so I wouldn’t have to take my time to apply each coat. That way I could apply the inner corner and bottom lashes with a little more ease and speed.

I found that zig-zagging the brush helped to apply the mascara evenly and helped to prevent clumping. When I first used this mascara I just applied it in an upward stroke and found that my lashes would sometimes stick together and clump so I used a spooly brush to my un-clump.

But by zig-zagging or wiggling the brush during application clumping can be avoided. It also has a very intense black colour. I love that because it means I could get away without wearing any eyeliner.

I normally have a 12 hour day and was pleasantly surprised that this mascara was smudge-proof and flake proof for my long days. It basically wore similar to a waterproof mascara. My eyes usually get teary and this mascara didn’t budge.

Love that it didn’t have an unpleasant scent that I find some volumizing mascaras have. I found it a little challenging to cleanse/remove it from my lashes and would recommend using a cleansing oil/balm then going in with a gentle micellar water on a q-tip to cleanse the roots properly.

I would definitely consider purchasing this product in the future as the intense black colour and extreme volume was amazing and it’s within what I normally pay for my mascaras and I loved the packaging.

Also because I received so many compliments and ladies asking if those were my real lashes while wearing this product.

So, I really wanted to like this product… the tube is very sleek and feels heavy in your hand, like it feels like a high-quality product. The tube is also tremendous, maybe the biggest mascara I’ve ever owned.

However, the WAND/BRUSH itself is also huge, which is not very good for getting into smaller corners of the eye, or lower lashes. It is a normal mascara wand, no funky shapes or bristles here. It’s just HUGE.

I noticed upon first opening the product it was clumpy, I wiped the excess off on a tissue and applied it to my curled lashes. It was… *fine. * Even with the excess product wiped off, it was fairly clumpy.

It gives okay length, does better in the volume department, but definitely has that sort of “I’m-going-clubbing-mid-2000s” look that I always associate with spidery-stuck together chonky eyelashes and raccoon messy black eyeliner, smeared on top and bottom lids.

Since I was an adolescent in that time period and am secretly a *little* partial to that look, I give it an extra star. Another star because weirdly enough, when the mascara is applied on top of my natural lashes + false strip lashes (I am one of those people who applies my mascara after my strip lashes are on—it works for me, so don’t come at me!) the mascara was noticeably way less chunky, sometimes not at all.

It actually added some sexy va-va-volume and a little length to the tips. Overall: The biggest disappointments were the ridiculous size of the brush (posted next to my normal daily mascara wand/brush but you can see how THICC this brush is?? Too damn thick!) which made it super hard to finesse without smearing product everywhere, and the fact that this dragged my eyelashes DOWN.

Like, curl gone in fifteen minutes. I might actually wear this, if it could hold a curl at all. Overall, wouldn’t repurchase.

I received this Vox Box randomly and was not notified I would be receiving it before it came. I was threw the roof excited because Yves Saint Laurent is a luxury brand and I needed new mascara. I have naturally long, thick, black eyelashes but love drama, volume curl in my mascara.

I used it over the course of a few weeks to get a good feel for it and I have to say this is one of the most disappointing mascaras I’ve ever tried. I opt for high end typically but have used drug store mascaras that performed significantly better than this one.

Appearance wise, the tube is awkwardly shaped and large, not attractive. It doesn’t feel nice or sleek in your hands. Now for my thoughts on the formula. For some reason it clumps incessantly and it’s impossible to get in the corners of your eyes to coat the lashes without huge globs of product getting in the way.

I couldn’t take the spooly out of the tube without excessive black clumps of product. It seems there is no stopper that would normally take off the excess and keep that from happening which is a major con.

The same issue happens with the bottom lashes which is really frustrating because I like to do my makeup quickly and efficiently. You have to really meticulously take your time and wipe off the product in order to get a healthy amount and coat your bottom and top lashes efficiently.

I found the formula to be very poor as well, as I curl my lashes and this mascara actually took the curl out. It wasn’t on for longer than 5 minutes and my lashes were weighed down and fell from the curl which doesn’t usually happen.

I also found the formula to be irritating to my waterlines and run easily. The smudging was also frustrating for me. I would not recommend this product and would never spend money on it personally.

Mascara (and/or maybe a great lipgloss/cheek product!) is my “desert island” must take item! 🙂 And – I love this Saie mascara! Not only is it clean – which clean beauty is what I pretty much only use now a days – but it actually gives my lashes the volume and length I crave in a mascara – with no irritation to my eyes! There’s quite a few choices in clean mascara now – but some that give you good results leave “raccoon eyes” or you really have to work at removing it at days end… Full discIosure – if I can’t wash it off easily when I wash my face at night – I’m not going to use it.

This stays put until I wash my face at night with my normal cleanser – so I’m not beating up my lashes (or delicate under eye area!) trying to remove it! I’ve been consistently adding several Saie products to my daily routine the last 18 months or so and have to say it’s become one of my favorite clean beauty brands… a couple more musts besides the mascara – Saie’s really great gloss is my absolute favorite lipgloss and the sunvisor is my go to daily spf for clean sun protection with a beautiful glow! I find it helpful when I read reviews that give some additional context and I can relate to the reviewer’s other “likes” – so for mascara reference in case it helps someone else – this Saie mascara and Ilia’s Limitless Lash mascara are my holy grails – I switch between both (Saie’s is a slightly better value)! I used to use the Lancôme Definicils and Hypnose ones for years and then the L’Oréal “beauty tubes” – but as I said – I’ve made the switch to clean beauty and lifestyle so am so thankful for this company and this mascara – and I must say it’s even better than my old “dirty versions”! ;-).

OMG I love love love this mascara. I can’t remember last time I was so in love with a mascara. The brush is so amazing it’s so precise and works beautifully together with the texture of the mascara it applies literally like a dream.

Every single lash hair gets enveloped in the mascara the lashes look elongated and beautiful I didn’t use a curler but somehow my lashes looked like as if I curled them. Mascara lasts all day and one of my most favorite things was i didn’t even have to use a makeup remover or anything fancy to remove the mascara I washed it off while in the shower with my regular face wash, I loved that it came off so easy cause I hate that about most other mascaras you always have to rub around the lashes to get the mascara off.

I also love that it’s a clean product. If you need a new mascara give this one a try I don’t think you’ll regret it. #bestmascaraever.

This is my all time favorite mascara. I have been using it for almost a year now and haven’t stopped restocking it. I have used the Ilia mascara, which is nice, but it doesn’t last as long as this mascara does.

I have eyelids that get really dry at times so I have to put eye cream on them, which then affects how long my mascara will keep my eyelashes up for throughout the day. With this mascara, it lasts literally all day.

I don’t have lashes that curl naturally so when I use this product, I usually curl my lashes beforehand and then apply. While this product doesn’t have a lot of thickness or volume at first, it definitely has the lengthening and lifting affect that it says.

If you wish to have more thickness or volume, you can do a couple more swipes to build up the volume (plus it doesn’t weigh your lashes down!).
