20 Best Low Carb Chips To Buy (2023 Updated)

I recently switched to healthier food choices in an attempt to cut out sugar, excess sodium, and fat from my diet. I searched “keto snacks” while creating a grocery delivery order with Walmart, and these came up.

Pros: these chips contain lots of protein (19 grams protein/4 grams of carbs); they are really tasty, just as yummy as a “regular” taco chip, with a nice mild tomato-ey with spices taco flavor; they have good ingredients; you feel full after eating a small amount; they’re healthier than regular taco chips with very low fat and no sugar.

Cons: bag is very small; they are expensive; they are fairly high in sodium (15%); chips are super delicate and fragile, and crumble very easily. It’s so frustrating that it costs so much more to purchase more healthy food than it is to buy super-processed, fatty, sugary foods.

For the price of this small bag, you could probably get a fairly large sized bag of the name brand nacho/taco chips. However, after eating half of this small bag, I felt that my snack cravings were fully satisfied.

Were this a bag of regular brand taco chips, I would still be plowing through a big bag of them, and consuming more fat and sugar and salt than I should be. Conclusion: these are expensive, but worth it.

If you could keep them from crumbling, they would be an excellent quick snack at work on the go, as they contain so much protein. After eating regular taco chips I get sort of a salt/fat/sugar “hangover”- just that over-full icky feeling.

That doesn’t happen with these chips. So overall, I do recommend these to satisfy a D—-os craving without the fat, excess sodium, and sugar. Left off one star due to being expensive.

I like Quest products because I don’t get enough protein in my regular diet because I don’t eat very much, so I look for other ways to boost my protein intake. My go- to is drinking an Ensure Protein Max, but I also eat Quest protein bars.

I recently purchased the Nacho Tortilla Chips after seeing the commercial for them and they are pretty good if you’re craving a “naughty” snack. I don’t purchase or eat chips, or that type of junk food, so Quest takes a lot of the guilt out of the equation.

I think they taste pretty good, but if you love nacho chips like Doritos and are expecting something like that, then you will not like these. The texture is even different because they are made from protein isolates and fiber versus corn and everything else that goes into “conventional” chips.

They have a lot of powder on them too because even the powder is flavored protein powder. In short, if you don’t eat junk food and don’t remember what it tastes like and only care about nutrition, then I think these are a great option to add to your pantry.

If you love chips and junk food then I don’t think you will like these.

I had tried one of the quest protein bars and been extremely disappointed by it in so many ways, so going into this I was a little skeptical. I have never been more happy to eat my words. The flavor is amazing! I’ve never been a huge fan of the original nacho cheese Doritos, but somehow I prefer these way more.

I’m someone who prefers a lighter/less dense chip that almost melts in the mouth, so the light crispness of this is perfect for me. The cheese dust flavor is just right, and there’s no weird protein taste or aftertaste.

I could probably go through 2 or 3 bags of this in one sitting and not worry about it because of how high protein they are for a bag of chips. And they’re still around the same calories of a normal bag of chips, so it’s a win-win.

But the biggest thing is that I felt satisfied after I ate just one bag. As someone who struggles with cravings and binge eating, an alternative like this is such a blessing. It’s worth the extra dollars.

Game changer. I was so sick of eating porkrinds fir the crunch. But these chips are great. A tiny bit pasty at the end but nothing off putting in my opinion. Can you make plain ones so we can enjoy with salsa and guacamole.

I just tried the real ketones bbq chips for the first time, and WOW! I’ve been missing crunch of chips while getting back into strict keto, and these provide just that. Awesome bbq flavor, and a great, guilt free, mid day snack.

Definitely need to stock up on these!.

These chips have the best flavor and crunch factor! Makes you feel less guilty because it is a more healthy option. I like Both flavors. Hopefully there are more flavors to come!

These Nacho chips taste great. I can’t believe they are low carb. I was able to buy a bag in store and I just ate some with guacamole dip. Being on a low carb diet, I have been missing chips as most have too much carbs.

Wish the sodium wasn’t so high but I will eat just a small serving at a time.

Be AWARE: these chips are in 1 oz bags. They are not full sized bags like you can get at Costco or other retailers. The taste is okay especially if you’ve not had any chips in a long time! I’d buy the big bags again but not these little ones.

The price is outrageous for 12 oz of chips.

#sweepstakes – These are my new favorite snack. Good bye pork rinds. They’re really cheesy. It’s worth the drive to BJ’s just to buy these. If I had known how good they were I would have stocked up and bought more than one bag.

Flavor: I tried the ranch and nacho cheese flavors. Of the 2, I like the ranch the best, but I also like the nacho cheese as well. Ranch – Tastes identical to ranch dipping sauce. Nacho Cheese – Very similar to most nacho cheese chips, but there’s a slight aftertaste.

Aftertaste: As I mentioned above, there’s a slight aftertaste with the nacho cheese flavor of these chips. I didn’t notice any aftertaste with the ranch chips. Dryness: As with almost all protein chips, both flavors have a bit of a dryness to them, especially if you eat more than one bag in a sitting.

Protein content: A bag of these is enough to tide me over between lunch and dinner. Bottom line: Even if these chips weren’t protein chips, I like both flavors enough to regularly eat them. However, with the added protein content, these chips are worth having on hand at all times.

These have good nutrition facts for a snack so I was hopeful I would like them but they’re just ok bordering on I flat out dislike them. This is a review for the cheddar, not the ranch. The flavor is pretty good, reminds me of a cheddar blasted goldfish or some other cheddar flavored cracker but the texture is a soft kind of crunch.

Definitely not as crunchy as a potato chip, Dorito, pita chip, rice cake or even some crackers. I could get over that, but they left a weird aftertaste in my mouth that I found unpleasant – so much so that I didn’t finish the bag and ate something after to get rid of the taste.

I believe this is an aftertaste that some high protein foods and drinks leave and others do not. IMO there are better options for either high protein or low carb (or both). I won’t be finishing the other bags in the house.

My daughter however didn’t seem so offended by them, although she has only eaten one bag and hasn’t gone back for more. I think these were a miss for us.

I’ve been doing the low-carb / keto diet now for over 2 years and have lost about 43lbs and have been able to maintain my target weight pretty easily. The Atkins snacks have been a godsend and very few complaints with them so when I saw they were coming out with a chip, it was a no brainer.

Unfortunately, IMO, Atkins missed on these. They don’t taste bad at all however, the chips are so thin that all you seem to get are a bag of crumbs everytime. I have a case and every bag is the same.

Please note, protein chips are all notorious for this (I’ve tried them all) but these are definitely some of the most damaged chips I have tried so far. Like I said though, they hey taste ok, but no one wants to eat a bag of protein crumbs.

If you can find an unbroken bag, these are definitely comparable taste-wise to any other brand of protein chip. None of the bags I received were unbroken.

While doing keto, I frequently find myself craving something crispy. Most “keto chips” either aren’t low carb enough or are so thin and flimsy that the bag contains mostly crumbs. In comes these “High Protein Tortilla Chips”.

The bag is a decent size and weight for the price; a much better value than most keto products. Hardly any chips were broken. The texture is great and they’re sturdy enough to hold the heaviest of dips.

I was certain these chips would be my new best friend…and then I tried one. On a positive note…the only negative thing I have to say is that these chips taste nothing whatsoever like tortilla chips. I bought the Salty-Good flavour but I found them neither salty, nor good.

I tried them with spinach dip but the taste of dried peas and chia seeds overpowered the dip. I used them to make nachos and that was better. Unfortunately, I used extra salsa and cheese to mask the taste of the chips so they were soggy.

Finally, not wanting to waste food, I decided to try the chips again a couple of days later but this time I added salt and decided not to think about tortillas at all. Happily, I found that when I expected them to taste like peas and chia seeds, I could just enjoy the crunch and not be disappointed by the non-tortilla flavour.

Price is too high. I’ve seen it at local stores for as low as $3. 50. Buying from the source should be the best way to save money and yet it is not. Poor strategy. I love these chips and I’ve recommended them to people but I will resend that in a heartbeat if the price doesn’t adjust.

The current price reflects pasture raised chickens that are non-GMO and organic but that’s not the case. Who knows We are chickens have been raised or how??? I’d gladly pay more for a better quality product or pay less for your current quality.

I do keto so so bought the chicken and waffle at Sam’s to find a crunchy solution to the missing crackers and chips I cut out of my diet. They were a little high in sugar but the concept was perfect and the crunch is amazing.

So, my “go to” variety is now the pink salt to have with “on the border” salsa. Something about the flavor of that salsa goes so perfect with these amazing chips. Then, I accidentally ordered the vinegar and salt which I thought As going to be a problem but I loved it.

Now I get both of these lower sugar flavors and can also pair them with a Sabra Hummus and the salsa for an amazing keto snack. These chips are such an amazing snack to add the crunch back to my keto diet.

I love these chips! I love crunchy foods, in doing keto/carnivore I don’t get much crunch. So when I saw these chicken chips on Amazon, I thought I would buy a couple bags and try them. I was surprised at how tasty they were.

These chips are amazing!! They fit into so many eating plans: Atkins, Keto, THM, gluten-free, calorie counting. The stats on them are great- 140 calories and 18+ grams protein. The flavor and crunch are surprisingly amazing, especially for a product made from whey protein.

What’s not to love? Yes, they are pricey compared to standard corn chips, but those chips contribute to weight gain. These chips are a great weight loss help. I want people to buy these so that Sam’s finds it worth it to continue to give them the shelf space in their stores!.

These have a wonderful flavor and a great balance of nutrition. It helps me satisfy my cravings for something crunchy without causing me to go over on my diet for the day! It does very well as a meal replacement! The size is great too, each bag has a lot in it, plenty to fulfill my munchies craving! My son really enjoys packing them as a lunch for his workday, it is great to have something that doesn’t require refrigeration or heat, and they travel well! I really hope Sam’s keeps these around as a permanent item!.

Great tasting chips! Although it only has a hint of ranch flavor, these are good. At first when I bit one it was a weird taste but as you eat more the flavor enhance. Only complaint is these are overpriced for just four small bags that are 1/2 way full.

You can eat two bags. These bags has about 15 small chips. Chips are almost the size of Doritos if not crushed in bag. I do like these and will buy more.

So one of the hardest parts about going Gluten Free and Low Carb was giving up my chips. I tried a lot of replacements over the past 5 years and some got close to cutting it, but were never quite right.

I decided to try Quest chips on a whim and WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING THIS WHOLE TIME? These are delicious and immediately squash the craving, not to mention the high protein content is a huge plus and curbs any hunger I may have! I haven’t tried a flavor that I do not like but in the end, the Ranch are my usual go-to, followed closely by Chili Lime and Loaded Taco.

The only thing “negative” I can think of to say would be that these are not as strong as regular tortilla chips. They are not scoopable in dips but I can just stick them straight down and get the flavor of the dip that way.

Honestly doesn’t bother me at all just trying to give a well-rounded review. Give them a shot if you’re considering, Ranch is a more chill/casual flavor but the others pack an awesome punch!.

Honestly Quest stepped up their game quite a bit on this one. I’ve tried all the flavors and they’re pretty consistent across the board however cheddar and ranch are my favorites for now. It has more of a cracker texture than chip at least on the cheddar flavor.

The nutrition though is amazing. For the entire bag you can get a whopping amount of protein and minimal calorie intake. I recommend for sure.

I was one that was very disappointed when Quest had discontinued the chips last year. I mean really sad. Now very happy to say they are back and just as good as ever. As soon as I got the email they were making them again I placed my order.

If you miss chips in your diet these will be a plus. Taste just like a baked chip and great quality. My favorite is the BBQ but love them all.

I have wanted a protein sour cream or cheddar and sour cream chip for a while. This is a good alternative to a regular chip. It is not my favorite of the Quest chips. I think it needs more onion and cheddar flavor, but it is better than the sour cream and onion, which was definitely lacking the onion flavor I hoped for.

Very tasty! To be honest this flavor is NOT my favorite but it is still very very good! I have tried Cheddar & Sour Cream, Nacho Cheese, Ranch, Spicy Chili, Taco, and BBQ. BBQ and Nacho Cheese are my favorites.

Spicy Chili is a little too spicy for me, and Taco I wasn’t a big fan of the flavor but that’s just me, Many people love those two. I really want to try Sour Cream & Onion soon! What an amazing option to have chips that actually taste good and have protein and low carbs!.

Crackers You will recognize ALL the ingredients—everything pronounceable and good for you is in these 3 products. I am allergic to corn, and corn is in everything. I LOVE these chips! I had nachos for the first time in DECADES! Can you grasp that? I am scared that Sam’s will discontinue these.

i bought 2 bags of these chips from sams club, 12 oz. bags, 6 weeks apart. the first bag the chips were great until i got halfway thru the bag. all the chips in the lower half of the bag were dark brown with an acrid taste.

i took the bag back and got a refund. i thought that it may have been an aberration, so i waited 6 weeks before purchasing a second bag, unfortunately the second bag, the chips were all burnt. the unburnt chips in the first bag were terrific, but the burnt taste killed the rest of them.

it is my hope that you send bags to sams that are not burnt.

I am not 100% crazy about the “hickory” part of this (artificial smoke flavor not my thing) but for a diet snack product I think this definitely deserves five stars. I can have a snack and not feel guilty about it and not kill my diet goals.

Texture and crunch are both top notch. Slightly sweet BBQ flavor usually isn’t my thing but this is very good and works for me.

I absolutely love these chips! The flavor is amazing. Sweet BBQ flavor in a very tasty chip, feels like I’m eating something bad but it’s not! Some chips are harder than others, but the taste makes up for that, just my opinion.

These are not the same as the chips from 3 months ago. The Pea Protein doesn’t cut it. The other BBQ from a different supplier were my absolute favorite. I believe some of the comments, especially positive were for other brand.

These are amazing! The flavor is delicious! The best I can describe the texture is a mix of a tortilla chip and pie crust—but it’s very tasty. I’m pleasantly surprised by the range of flavors. My favorite so far is the Ranch.

Give them a try! One criticism—I wish there were larger containers of these chips. The small bags seem wasteful.

These are AMAZING!! I never leave reviews for anything. I’ve tried multiple flavors of these chips and they were tasty for keto but these are DELICIOUS! The texture of this brand is much lighter than I anticipated from a protein chip, which caught me off guard with the cheese flavor, but with these it is refreshing.

If you’re torn between flavors to try go with this! The cheese is also good if you want them in a taco salad/nachos. The taco flavored ones are too weird for me. They are pricey, but Target is the best price I’ve found.

If you’re committed to low carb they’re working it so you don’t backslide!.

Great flavor, great texture, but bag is 75% air. I decided to try them because they were on sale. I love chips and needed some extra protein in my diet, so these are perfect for me. The chips are very flavorful, have a great crunch, and does not have that weird grainy texture like other protein products.

This flavor is not my favorite because it’s not as flavorful as the other 3 that’s available on target – but you also can’g go wrong with ranch Taking two stars off for the fact that the bag is mostly empty.
