20 Best Lotion For African American Skin (2023 Updated)

I am in my bathroom having just gotten out of the shower only to discover the African Black soap ingredients are completely different. I have been using your products exclusively for three years. I use the african black soap for my body, the sea kelp, and argan oil shampoo and conditioner, and the hybiscus curl and style milk.

Suffice to say I am very disapointed in the new african black soap. I purchased a couple bottles to be in stock when I ran out and the first thing I noticed was that the soap ran out of the bottle differently, definately lighter, and that gives you any idea of how long I have been using the product.

Long enought to notice a change in viscosity. The second thing I noticed was the smell, significantly diminushed and actually as I’m writing this kind of terrible. Now, I’m actually quite sensitive to synthetic smells but your original body wash doesn’t effect me, nor dry out my skin.

Anyways, this prompted me to read the label. I am very disappointed to discover a complete reordering and removing of ingredients. The original formula was fantastic and I think if this change is permenant it’s time to move on from your brand completely.

Because I’m sorry the first ingredient is now Aloe?!? When it was litterally the last ingredient on the original bottle. Along with this other ingredients are missing, removed, and reordered and not for the better.

I don’t think it’s possible to love this stuff more than I do! First off. the only con is packaging. When will they realize it needs to be in a tub?! It’s getting more frustrating over time having to cut open the bottle to get to all the product.

But for the moment it’s worth it. It smells divine and it works. It truly moisturizes skin but it is a lotion so you won’t get that heavy body butter feeling. It’s just a really, really dense lotion.

Oh and did I mention it smells insanely good?.

Shea moisture please bring back the old formula that was the only thing working on my face it was the only thing that I needed. One container lasted me for so many months because all you needed was a little and it had your face feeling moisturized.

When I ran out I went to target to get more thinking it would be the same thing. It wasn’t it was darker the texture was WAYYY thinner but I tried it anyway. Putting it on my face and rubbing it my face felt like it was burning and it left it feeling dry as if I put nothing on my face at all and my face started to break out all over again.

This new formula does not work. I am not the type of person to write reviews but I really needed to reach out about this since it was the only thing working for me. Please bring back my safe space.

I have dry skin (and am a white person) and I use this moisturizer 2x a day. Product is thick and leaves skin slightly sticky at first; I use it kind of like a primer before foundation. It does dry down and has a mattifying effect on me because my skin isn’t very oily.

At night I put it one after cleansing/toner and then use an oil on top to seal it in. I’ve been using this for awhile – there did seem to be a formula change – but bought in the last 6 months and it is back to how i remember it (but I could be wrong).

Even using this 2x a day, it still takes months to go through a jar. Highly recommend, especially if you have dry skin like mine.

I’ve been trying to find a more effective and less expensive moisturizer and I have finally found it. I have sensitive, blemish prone skin that errs on the side of dry. Moisturizers geared to help with blemish prone skin tend to dry out my skin.

They assume I have oily skin, but it’s not my case. This moisturizer is very thick and my skin soaks up every bit of it. Additionally, it did make my breakouts stick out a little more after the first couple of uses, but now that my skin is used to it, my skin is clear.

So happy to have found this.

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! The Palmer’s Solid Jar is a multitasking legend and I wish I’d tried it YEARS ago. It’s amazing for treating extremely dry skin and melts the moment it meets the warmth of your fingertips.

The magical formula is wonderful for healing scars, protecting the skin’s moisture barrier, and bringing hydration to even the most cracked and flakey parts of our body. You know what else this beautiful solid does?! It’s a natural highlighter for your face and other parts of your body, like the collarbones.

Just dab a little of this onto the part of your choice and watch the light catch on your skin; it creates an incredible natural glow. Tattoos? I have found that brushing a little of the solid formula over my tattoos breathes life back into the artwork.

The colors even appear brighter, despite the pieces being done many years ago. The Solid Jar can also be turned upside down and tapped to turn the lid into an applicator for the product!!!! It’s the coolest thing.

The formula feels like solid wax, at first, but melts beautifully the moment it meets warmth. The cozy scent of cocoa butter will linger on your skin as the concentrated moisturizer is absorbed. This is one of those products that’s changed my routine and I’m buying more the second it’s gone.

I’ve been seeing this product all over social media, and, like most people was a bit leery of trying it because not everything works for every skin-type and person. But since this was so affordable, I added it to my delivery order and figured trying it wouldn’t hurt.

Oh. Oh my goodness. This smells like I wrapped myself up in a rich cocoa blanket. Not only is it non-greasy, but it absorbs super quickly, making my skin and hands feel de-vine. I rubbed this in all over my body after using a sugar scrub in the shower and covered everything but the bottoms of my feet (forgot.

) When I got in bed, I immediately noticed how rough and dry and weird the bottoms of my feet felt compared to the silky smoothness of the rest of my skin. It bothered me so much I had to get out of bed and use this on my feet–which immediately felt amazing.

You can apply this just by using your hands, or turn the container upside down, give it a good hard tap on the bottom, and opening the container upside down to rub it like a bar all over your skin. Unfortunately, it was too warm/soft for me to use it as a bar, but it quickly melts with body heat.

I am now wondering how I lived my life without this and interested in trying other Palmer’s products. Must have!.

As a dude with sensitive skin that is itchy always, I wanted to try something cheap and nature based than lotions that use mineral oil as the first ingredient (although those are the best and palmers also uses mineral oil but it’s not listed as one of the first 3 ingredients).

Pros: it hydrates well 10/10, cheap, and skin does feel smooth after application. Cons: the smell is the same as chocolate frosting, which I don’t mind but also don’t love. You can’t wear fragrance with this lotion because the scent is powerful.

Another con, you really have to work it through your skin. I spent about 10 mins on my whole body making sure it was rubbed in completely. And then it takes another 15 mins to absorb well. So definitely not the type of lotion you can apply and then put on clothing.

I think for what it is and for the price, it’s reasonable and it does it’s job. Even with the scent, it’s a solid 3 stars. If it didn’t have fragrance it would probably be 4 star product.

There isn’t anything particularly wrong with this lotion, but nothing spectacular enough to warrant the price. I don’t have sensitive skin, so maybe it would be worth it to those who do. The formula is lightweight, almost watery/gel like in texture.

It almost has a cooling effect to it. It rubs in easily and absorbs quickly leaving no greasy feeling or stickiness. It makes my skin feel very smooth, more so smooth than soft. I think this is best suited for use during warm weather, it is not moisturizing enough for dry winter skin.

It is unscented, which many prefer. I don’t often wear perfume, so I usually like my lotions to have fragrance, but it is nice to have at least one without. I like the flat shape of the packaging, I feel like it takes up less room in my cabinet.

This is a nice lotion for sure, I just feel like there are more plenty of similar/better products on the market for less money. I like it enough to finish my bottle but will not buy it again.

I received this as a gift from a friend of mine and I was very hesitant at first because of how sensitive my skin is. After using this lotion, I found I didn’t have any problems with breakouts or irritations.

I looked up information on this product before using it on my skin and I found that this was cruelty free, the bottle is made out of recycled products, vegan, no added fragrances or dyes, and good for different types of skin.

Dry, oily or combination skin types. You can even use this lotion when your skin is wet. But I prefer using it when my skin is nice and dry. I use this in the morning and after my shower. It really does rehydrate my skin.

I don’t get any stinging feeling when I use this on my super dry cracked skin which is awesome for me. So far I have made a bottle last me about one month. I’ve since then purchased another bottle. I highly recommend trying this brand.

I am in love with this lotion!!! I like how it is made from plant oils and other ingredients that are good for our skin. Not sticky feeling at all. You should definitely give this a try if you haven’t already.

I love how hydrating and lightweight this lotion is. It absorbs quickly into the skin, without leaving a greasy feeling. My skin is incredibly dry during the winter months. My shins look like a shedding snake and the skin between my fingers is always red and cracked.

However, that hasn’t been the case this winter, all thanks to this lotion. A quick whiff of the bottle and you’d think you’re slathering yourself up with silly putty. However, once it’s out in the open, the smell is more like a faint almond and far more tolerable.

The scent dissipates quickly, too. The moisturizing benefits are 100% worth the temporary “meh” smell.

Thankfully, we all know about germs now. We know that we’re supposed to wash our hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds after we touch literally anything. Problem is, your skin gets grumpy and starts to look like an angry iguana.

Jack Black lotion (not associated with the actor) is industrial strength, whatever that means. All I know is that it makes my skin feel less reptile and more mammal. It heals the cracks, peeling nubs, and overall deathly vibe of my fingers and knuckles.

Love the lotion but it’s too expensive compared to other men’s body lotions on the market. I also miss the big sized pump lotion. I would suggest selling “refills” for body lotion. The refill could come in a package of less quality like back bar products professionals use.

Or a loyalty program. My husband loves the products and would use them everyday if they came with a benefit/discount of being a repeat customer. Not an automatic refill program but offer 30% off twice a year.

I love this lotion! I don’t need heavy creams so light lotions are best. It smells unisex/masculine but I like that kind of scent as long as it’s not too Old Spicey. I wear Bulgari for Men and I don’t like sweet fragrances so this works well for me.

It’s slightly cooling? Not in a big way though. Overall very nice light lotion for not too dry skin.

I am 54 years old and this has been a nice lotion to use on my face. I loved it even more when Clinique created the ID line to enhance the Dramatically different line. The moisturizing lotion is very hydrating but as I’ve gotten older and started developing some lines and wrinkles, it really doesn’t do much to firm the skin, but it does hydrate nicely.

I have tried Clinique’s serums and wrinkle correcting creams, but they are so harsh and strong on my face, so when they came out with the ID line for lines and wrinkles I was very happy to try it and pleasantly surprised how wonderful it worked.

It did not irritate my skin and I could visibly see a very noticeable reduction in the lines and wrinkles on my face. It was a total game changer and I just loved it! It gently firmed my skin without irritating it and I was absolutely devastated when I went to replenish my Dramatically Different lotion and ID product for lines and wrinkles, only to find out that the ID line has been discontinued!! So far two things that I love from Clinique that are gentle but truly work, have been discontinued just in the last few months.

Clinique also discontinued the Smart Night Custom Repair Cream which was very gentle on my skin. What are you doing Clinique? Why are you discontinuing products that actually work??? Please bring back the ID line for lines and wrinkles.

It is such a wonderful product that is gentle and works. Not everybody can use your new recently launched Smart Clinical line. I have used Clinique for over 25 years and I have always been happy to try your new products, but this new Smart line in the purple containers are way to harsh.

I am so disappointed that you discontinued the ID line for lines and wrinkles. Please consider bringing it back again.

I’ve been using this moisturizer for the past 30 years. I consider it more along the lines of a slightly richer “emulsion”, for those of you who are familiar with Japanese/Korean beauty routines. What is standout about this moisturizer is it’s absorption.

It doesn’t sit on top of your skin. I have dry, combination skin and I put it on after softener. It really does keep your skin moisturized and it’s very lightweight. You don’t need much and it’s fragrance free, and hypoallergenic-as I have sensitive skin and can react very badly to fragrance.

You need to let it set in and absorb for a couple of minutes, but afterwards it’s easy to apply sunscreen. I find many sunscreens drying to I always play this before. Also, it’s the perfect way to protect your skin when you’re training your face to accept retinol.

You moisturize with this then out the retinol afterwards and it really helps to help with redness and flaking while still getting the benefits of your retinoid. It’s also amazing for thinning out your foundation and getting it to absorb into your skin to look more like a no make-up make-up look.

I don’t find foundations moisturizing even when they say they are, and mixing it with the Clinique helps with that plus it gives you a very natural application. If you have a face powder and need a quick foundation, mixing this moisturizer with a bit of powder gives you a really nice moisturizing sheer cover.

It’s an amazing makeup remover, I’ve used it to take off my eye makeup when I’ve run out of remover, and I like it because it leaves the skin moist. So, I can’t say enough good things. It has stood the test of time for me and I use different and heavier moisturizers and creams but I always use this as an emulsion in my routine.

Years ago, when ever I went on a plane I always treated myself to the Clinique Moisturiser and loved it. So when QVC launched Clinique I was very excited. People always say how lovely my skin is for a 59 year old, I take the time to look after it with premium skincare and using advice from Alison Young, so to be honest I didn’t expect very much of a change.

I have put all my other skincare away, including my JW neck cream, I have restricted myself to the three step Clinique and my Liz Earle Drops and my Vit C serum and my JW nectar eye cream. I started using the system two days ago, morning and night adding the using drops and serum and eye cream and wow, my skin has improved, my neck is much smoother and when I wake up no lines on my chest.

My face skin hasn’t changed much, but does seem more luminous. So I have just ordered myself another set. This is definitely the skincare range for me. The lotion came out very smoothly and rubbed in well, which was a definite plus. The packaging itself is very simple and elegant, and I enjoy the look of it overall. I’ve used this product for a long time now and it’s something I always have a few bottles of. I suffer with very very dry skin and not many moisturisers really do the job like aveeno does. I love the lavender scented one alot at night as it gets me feeling calm and relaxed.

This moisturiser goes along way you don’t need to smother it on, from my personal experience if I have done this I notice that the product starts to rub off my skin and ball up. The pump bottle males application so easy and stops any kind of mess.

The moisturiser is thick and creamy but not so much so that it leaves you feeling greasy and weighed down and it easily absorbs into your skin in no time. As I said you don’t need to use alot of product so the price is value for my money.

I would love to see other scents brought out. Fingers crossed. I do feel that this moisturiser ticks all the boxes for me and I think it would be safe enough to use on children.

I really like this lotion. I normally do no like lotion at all, bc I don’t like a greasy feel. Plus I am allergic to most fragrance which this does not have or it does not cause me to break out. I love that it hydrates my skin and leaves it nice and soft, but no greasy wet feel afterwards.

It does not take a lot at all. I normally only use the back of my hands and feet, it dries up quickly and does not leave a greasy or sticky feel. I like that it does not smell. I have tried other Aveeno products but this oatmeal green label one is the only one I like.

I like that if I have dried out hands on the back the next day it is all better meaning it works quickly on my normal skin meaning I don’t have oily skin to begin with. My oily child also uses and she gets dry skin and uses and loves.

You can use and go about your daily task without feeling like you have to go wash your hands. This container for me goes a long way. I do not use daily, I only use when I need, this is my only go to lotion.

I will say right up front that this product does pill. It even pills when it’s the only product in my face or body. When I wake up in the morning after using this on my face, I find some bits of it rolled up on the sides of my face where my cheek touched the pillow.

Anything with shea butter usually does this. This truly isn’t a dealbreaker for me; I rinse my face off in the morning and go about my routine which includes a less dense day time moisturizer. For the evening, this is SUCH a wonderful moisturizer for dry or sensitive skin.

It’s been game changing for me, as it’s made regular use of retinol tolerable for my dry and very sensitive skin. Niacinamide is at a low concentration that is doesn’t irritate, but rather calms the skin down.

Glycerin draws water into the skin and a whole gang of occlusives keep it there. Silicone, shea butter, mineral oil, beeswax— this stuff is LOCKING the moisture down, 23 hours, in the box!!! If you try to use this for day time wear, expect to be greasy and pilly and sad.

If you use this at night, you can expect to wake up with very, very happy skin!.

This lotion has saved my face! Using strong prescription strength retinols can be so harsh and drying to my skin. This has helped protect and hydrate my skin so much. I use this before sunscreen on drier days and after applying other retinols or skincare products at night.

I’ve even used this on my legs and arms after showering and they feel so nice and soft! This isn’t nearly as greasy as other thick lotions I’ve used. The amount you get for the price is a great value.

This is probably the best drugstore skincare product I’ve ever used and will continue to use once it runs out. I’ve been using the same bottle for about a year now and still have a good amount left. If you use tretinoin or other retinols, this is an amazing product to use.

I am absolutely lovinggg this moisturizer. I have annoyingly sensitive skin, with rosacea and combination (but definitely more dry) skin. My daily moisturizer had been Cerave’s daily lotion, but it’s just so thin and watery, my skin would STILL feel dry after application.

But it was the only thing that didn’t make my skin sting, so I felt like I had to stick with it. Until I tried this!! I’m so happy I did. It’s still lightweight, cooling, and breathable for my rosacea, but SOOOO softening, moisturizing, and emollient for my dryness.

Literally the most perfect thing ever. And great value, definitely worth the price.

Well let me tell y’all a story that hopefully will make you guys laugh, you see I went with my mom to B&BW to get some lotions or perhaps even more known as body crème and she said to look for one quickly! So I did but I was not sure to what I wanted to wear ( I am a guy of course ) so I asked a worker politely and they send me to this and I fell in love with it!! And they told me about the deal so I quickly ran and got this and the mist as well as another body crème called sunset woods ( is such a good one 10/10 people!! ) but let’s just say after I got my 3 things and my mom left me there ( the worker tolled me about the get 3 and get 3 free but I never realized that I had to get 3 more so those thing could be free :/ ) and I was like “ did my mom just ran away and left me “ and the worker just laughed.

Anyways my mom comes back and I had some samples of the bonfire bash body cream on my hand and I tell my mom to smell it and she goes and says “ it smells weird “ and I was like “ really? “and I panicked so then she told me the fairytale body crème smelled better and I switched it to that one and left this beauty in the store, well once we make it out and I keep smelling my wrist to just adore the bonfire bash scent I fell in love with, I tell my mom to smell it again! And then she says “ omg that smells so good! “ lady’s and gentlemen I swear I could have felt a tear go down my eye at that moment that I realized I could not go back and get it… I was so heartbroken to leave bonfire bush behind as well as the mist but until this day I still keep shaking my mom about how she switched on the body crème so fast.

Bonfire bash is the type of scent that maybe for people will have to get used to before declaring if it’s their favorite or if it’s the worst like my mom for example ( oh yes people we will use my mother as the example!! What if she finds this ) she disliked the bonfire bash but after a while she smelled it again and loved how smooth and gentle it smelt.

Now I am no professional or a person who has tried B&BW for years but I understand that some people may say is not the best and is not the one to go for but for the people who are in the reviews desperate to know if you should get it or not I would say is your decision to make not the reviews! Reviews are just to show what we personally feel about this and other things but is “ our “ opinion you need to try it for yourself to see what you think! For me the bonfire bash did work for my body like it did not make it oily or anything it left it smooth and omg with such a lovely sent! It reminds me of just Christmas sitting Infront of the fireplace with a soft blanket and a piano playing in the background.

( okay but not me becoming a visual illustrator of this scent, you see my mom would be proud but then she would throw her phone at me after people see this review haha). Enchanted Candy Potion is definitely a winner for me, but the body cream is sooo light so I took off a star. It makes a good base for the spray though, or other sweet fragrances. It is true that if you like: Boardwalk Taffy, Cotton Candy Clouds or Whipped Berry Meringue you will probably like this, but this fragrance is definitely NOT a dupe of any of those fragrances, IMO.

The 3 aforementioned are close to each OTHER, with CCC and Boardwalk Taffy being the closest to being dupes of each other, except Boardwalk Taffy has a bit stronger strawberry sugar note to me. Whipped Berry Meringue has more berries and also has a bit of a perfumy base.

Cotton Candy Clouds is the truest spun sugar scent, and is the winner for me. The BIGGEST difference between all of these and the new Enchanted Candy Potion fragrance is the vanilla note that ECP does NOT have.

It makes a difference and to me it is a completely different fragrance. In fact I think some people may find Enchanted Candy Potion too candy sweet without the vanilla, but I love it. The “spellbinding sugar” in ECP doesn’t smell like cotton candy spun sugar, it smells like actual sugar candy that you would find in Fun Dip.

There’s a powdered sugar scent that mixes with a gum drop berry scent and it smells so delicious. Cotton Candy Clouds also has a slight perfume dry down that is similar to the base in Aqualina Pink Sugar (although I prefer CCC), while maintaining that cotton candy sweet fluffiness.

Enchanted Candy Potion is even sweeter in that it is not tempered by a perfumed, musky or creamy vanilla base. However, it’s really a beautifully balanced fragrance! If you liked Pink Fairy Gum Drop then I definitely recommend this fragrance, because IMO, that is what this is closest to.

Somehow, this candy fragrance manages to smell like candy perfume without smelling like something for little kids. I am really happy with this release and the design of the line too. I am not happy with the price increases because I feel we have had wayyyy too many in a short period of time, so I no longer buy anything that is not on sale or unless I have a coupon.

That’s how I acquired the spray for this scent, which I definitely recommend using to layer this fragrance with! Like anything else, try it out in the store if possible, but I also do believe that this is a safe blind buy if you enjoy sweet fragrances!.

I have super sensitive skin with a tan complexion. This lotion is not only providing daily moisture (without the greasy feeling) but it actually helps my skin improve. One thing to call out is that the lotion is SUPER thick so I apply right after I shower with a small amount to spread easily.

I wouldn’t take that as a complaint, since doing that helps frequent spending on it. GOLD BOND DEVELOPMENT TEAM – PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change the packaging on the bottles. There’s always a really good amount of lotion left around the inside and some at the bottom when it’s low.

The pump cant get that unless you’re literally pounding the bottle on a surface to get all the amount of lotion to the bottle to bottom to pump out. Or you can unscrew the pump out and shake/pound on your hands till they’re red and in pain so you can get something out.

As stated above, the lotion is thick so it’s work. Rather use a huge 20oz squeeze bottle or a jar.

I grabbed this as a hand, foot and rough patches lotion (knees, elbows etc). I really liked it! It’s not really suited for what I bought it for so I’ll probably grab something specific to hands and feet next time, but as a body lotion it does a fantastic job for general all over hydration.

It’s best suited for normal to dry skin, but if your skin is ultra dry I’d recommend looking at creams instead as they are more occlusive. I have sensitive skin so this is a perfect choice, and I love that it has no fragrance.

It’s not as light and weightless as say, the Cerave Moisturising Lotion (which is my go-to for humid summers), it does take five or so minutes to really sink in and leaves a greasy feel in comparison (it’s mild, don’t worry), but it does feel thicker/more moisturising (though I don’t know if it truly is or just feels that way due to it’s thickness) so if you find that one doesn’t quite give you the results you want then I’d give this one a try.

I love this lotion and I’ve been using it ever since I was in high school. Since I have sensitive skin, this product has been excellent to use on my face and body. It leaves my skin baby soft after the night of using it and has zero scent.

However, it has the consistency of most other lotions and leaves a slight greasy residue. Additionally, if you have severe dry skin with micro cuts, using this product will burn due to the lotion having alcohol.

The reason it’s a 4 star for me is because I found another lotion similar to cetaphil without any alcohol added.

On the first application of the lotion there was no stinging and it didn’t feel greasy at all. I started the Cetaphil the evening I got home and was surprised that it took effect so quickly. By morning I could feel less tightness in my skin.

My skin feel soft again without the dry, flakey skin. For dry skin I completely recommend this. I eve tried the Cetaphil on my face around the upper right side of my nose. I didn’t use it on the left side of my nose just to defeat any hopeful imagination for a positive difference.

Again, Cetaphil didn’t fail me. The right side of my nose is getting smoother. I absolutely recommend this Cetaphil Lotion. I truly believe it will be worth it!.

This body butter is to die for. Normally, I wouldn’t spend $36 on 8 oz of body butter, because there are so many great, more affordable options out there. But, after trying a bit out of a friend’s jar, I HAD to go out and buy a jar of my own.

The texture and scent of of this butter are a DREAM, with top quality ingredients, and extremely moisturizing properties. This Made in the USA body butter is now in my list of ALL-TIME FAVORITE scented body moisturizers, and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon! Quick Note about Fragrance (skip to next paragraph if you’d like): I am all about unscented skincare, mainly due to irritation/sensitivity concerns, but also because having too many scented products can just get overwhelming all to quickly.

My general rule is that the majority of my skincare is unscented but I do keep a number of products with fragrances I absolutely LOVE around, after patch-testing, of course. While my skin is moderately sensitive, scented products do not always cause skin irritation for me – So, as long they use high quality ingredients, and pass the patch test, they are fair game.

I do enjoy scented products, and find that the sensorial experience of certain much-loved fragrances in my skincare only makes the whole process that much more enjoyable! That sensorial experience truly doesnt get much better than this body butter.

The citrus scent is SO good you just have to smell it for yourself, because there is simply no doing it justice! Opening the jar is literally a joy, and I make sure to really take my time and enjoy the experience when I use this product (also because of the price), taking deep breaths and even doing a bit of massage and/or light meditation.

The scent is literally that good, and 100% natural (not synthetic ) fragrance derived from fruit and plant extracts. Fragrance: A+++ In terms of texture/formula this product is also a winner. The Ingredient superstars in this formula are the fatty acids in the argan oil, as well as the hydrating and conditioning benefits of shea butter and avocado oil.

It contains a total of 10 natural plant oils and extracts, and delivers on its promise to “revitalize skin, restore softness, and improve skin’s texture. ” This product is already top-shelf imo, but if I HAD to come up with a way to improve it, I would probably add some skincare actives to target certain common skin complaints, such as vitamin c, caffeine, niacinamide, and/or exfoliating acids, amongst many other options, to boost collagen/elasticity, treat hyperpigmentation and brighten, decrease puffiness and improve circulation, and even reduce cellulite (the bane of our existence!).

I feel that for the price of the product it would and should be possible to take the product to the next level by targeting specific skin concerns. In terms of texture/formula, for such a decadent, RICH body butter, it’s still unbelievably lightweight and silky soft, absorbing super quickly and fully into the skin, due to the perfectly whipped, signature argan oil.

It does not leave a greasy feeling to the skin, and adds a nice glowy sheen to the skin surface. Texture/formula: A++, Ingredients: A-, Moisturization: A++ Finally, the packaging isn’t anything totally spectacular, but I personally do like it.

It comes in a brown plastic jar (I assume to protect the ingredients from light) with a muted, dusty rose colored top. For me, it’s about what’s on the inside that counts most, but I understand that a well thought out and designed package or pump can add something extra to a product.

This is minimal and effective. I would recommend using a spatula or scoop of some kind to remove the product to keep debris/bacteria out of the product itself. Packaging: B+ This body butter is just SO SO GOOD.

It makes me feel extra fancy, and it makes my after-shower pamper session feel super luxe. I truly cannot do it justice, you simply have to try it for yourself. As long as you like/don’t mind fragrance, you cannot go wrong with this amazing and decadent body butter.

My diabetes makes my skin pretty dry, so I’m constantly moisturizing. I was previously using Gold Bond lotion for diabetics, which works pretty well! However, I dislike pump bottles because of how hard it is to get the lotion out when I’m nearing the end and I end up having to cut the bottle in half to use it all.

I received the unscented version of this body butter for Christmas and oh my goodness! My skin has never felt so soft for so long between applications. Since it is an oil-based butter, it’s a little greasy, but I got used to it pretty quickly and learned that a little goes a long way.

I also LOVE that it comes in a wide-mouthed jar like this so that none of it goes to waste (and while this is worth every penny, you better believe I’m using every last molecule). Right before I ran out, I immediately went to the website and ordered the same but in Vanilla Bean and literally said “Oh my god” out loud when I opened it up and took a whiff.

It is the *perfect* combo of sweet and subtle — almost good enough to eat! Plus, it shipped quickly, so I think I maybe only went one day between running out of the first jar and receiving the second.

I’m so happy to have found a moisturizer that is both pleasant to apply and really, truly works. I hope they’ll offer the scented versions in the larger option soon!.

Living in Florida, we are either in air conditioning or out in the hot sun; therefore, our skin does take quite a beating in keeping in the moisture. I have very dry hands and have a difficult time keeping them moisturized due to constant hand washing and as a teacher, constantly touching the paper.

I have tried many products to keep my skin hydrated, and remember seeing Josie Maran on a segment of QVC talking up the benefits of Argan Oil. As someone who is also very health-conscious, I know the benefits of Argan oil on the skin, so I was excited to try this product for myself.

I started with the Vanilla Apricot and now use the Peppermint Bark. The scents are amazing, yet not overpowering. I cannot even describe how wonderful my skin feels and looks. It is smooth, hydrated and even my heels are smooth looking.

This is a great product. Is it slightly slippery, yes; however, not overly so. My skin drinks the product in like a tall glass of water. Thank you for bringing the wonders of Argan Oil into my life. As for the expense, for me a little goes a long way, so my jar lasts for over a month.

I’m so glad I bought a tester/sample size. It has silicone in it, so it will pill- especially if you use any other products that have silicone. Even with the most simple routines, no actives and just a serum or an oil it pills.

A lot. Creates this gunk on your cheeks and jawline mixing with other ingredients in your routine. I keep it pretty ‘clean’ when it comes to my products and nothing else I use makes my face sticky, pill or any of that annoying stuff.

This product though? I rarely experience it not pilling or, worse, turning into sludge just after using a couple of my pricey products that I feel are almost wasted when I use this over them. Especially when you’re paying a dollar or more per ml, would rather go a superior brand with cleaner ingredients.

I just bought kiehls ultra because I’ve enjoyed that in the past. I bought this because I have dry, sensitive skin. I need lots of moisture. I’ve found it’s best to rely on more than just a moisturiser for the amount of moisture I need so I incorporate face oils – especially in cooler months – like rose hip, vitamin e oils and I’ve just bought face hero so will be back with a review on that.

I usually really struggle in winter but the face oils with a good moisturiser, regular hyaluronic acid use and not going overboard with actives is key for me.

I genuinely have not be able to use anything else on my face, but now I am at a loss. I have been purchasing tubs and tubes of this since 2018. I would say I’ve spent thousands on Ultra Repair Cream over the years because it’s all I can use.

I noticed about 7 months ago when I received my new tub in the mail it said “no artificial fragrance” as opposed to “fragrance free” like it used to… I was afraid to try anything else, so I used it, all year I’ve had random rashes and bumps on my face.

Sometimes I’ll get in bed and my face will just feel hot and itch. I on a whim decided to read reviews wherever this is sold today… and my constant skin irritation is all starting to make sense. WHY WHY WHY would FAB change the formula to this cult moisturizer.

This is heartbreaking for me, no exaggeration… I someone who has struggled so intensely with their skin. A product and company I trusted for my sensitive, dry, acne prone skin added wholly unnecessary essential oils to their main product marketed towards people with troubled skin.

I genuinely upset and feel sick that I slathered this all over my face today. I would go take a shower and wash it off, but I don’t even have an alternative product to moisturize with on hand. Please, please change the product back to what it was.

I feel duped. There was no announcement, no reasoning. Nothing. Change it back PLEASE. You’ve lost what would have been a lifelong customer.

I received by First Aid Beauty for Christmas this year, and WOW! I am totally in love! My skin is super sensitive and gets SO incredibly dry and itchy during the winter months, that it’s insane. My hands get dry and crack, and it’s not only irritating, but it’s embarrassing.

I’ve tried so many products, with most of them either leaving my skin super oily, irritating it, or having so much scent in them that my husband’s allergies go crazy. This lotion is like magic! It’s the perfect amount of deep hydration that my skin needs, and never leaves it feeling oily or sticky.

It has a wonderful texture that is thick, but not heavy, and is very mildly scented with a nice, light, clean scent. It keeps my skin hydrated and from feeling itchy for hours, and it would be perfect for helping to heal tattoos! It makes my hands feel soft and healthy again, without making them too greasy to use.

I would definitely recommend this to pretty much anyone and everyone who wants just a great overall lotion, or anyone who suffers from similar issues, especially during the winter months. This stuff really is awesome, I cannot say enough good things about it.

This is the worst. I loved the old bottle, scents, consistency. This new lotion is awful. The smell is horrid. It costs more for less actual lotion. I noticed it moved from the mid shelves to the very bottom shelves about a year ago so I knew something was happening.

I hoped it was not being discontinued. Well you should have just discontinued it instead of changing it. It’s the worst. Now I need to find a new lotion, NOT made by Olay. Thanks alot.

I LOVED the original version of this Olay Quench Shimmer body lotion, picture on right. was my favorite lotion and used for years until I purchased online and received THIS crud on left. Not only is the bottle different, no big deal there no, but the formula is totally different.

Big deal there! For one thing, they took out to the cocoa butter which is one of the best ingredients for radiant skin. I noticed that immediately. The ones beautiful it Illuminating looking Shimmer has turned into some glittery looking junk oh, it’s awful.

I bought three bottles online oh, they had the picture of the old formula. I believe this has been discontinued, not surprised at all. I am a huge fan of Olay products, I use many of their beauty products, many from the Total Effects 7 in 1, the Oasis body wash, for many years and love them.

I’m so disappointed in Olay for changing this amazing formula and running it into the ground. If you look on other sites, including Olay, the ratings are approximately 2. 3 out of 5 stars now. Many people want the original version back, myself included.

Thank God I have a couple of bottles of the original still, I have started hoarding things that I really like because every company ends up discontinuing my favorites. Why????.

I absolutely loved this lotion when I could find it. It was just the right amount scent that it wouldn’t be over bearing if used repeatedly throughout and never left the residue/sticky type feeling that can mess with skin sensory issues that many other lotions I’ve tried have done in the past.

I honestly haven’t been able to find a replacement that even remotely compares to it. Would absolutely be 5 stars if it were still available.

I have been using Dr. Sturm’s original eye cream for over a year, and love the lightweight texture and pure formula that never has caused problems for my very my sensitive eyes. With this new anti-aging Sturm eye cream, I wanted the assurance of having a non – reactive cream that also delivered more benefits for my dark circles and puffiness.

The new cream is just as non – stinging, is just as gentle to the eyes as DrSturm’s original. It is not as lightweight, but is quickly absorbed and feels as refreshing as the original. After a month of use, I think my dark circles and puffiness are somewhat better, my upper lids look a little lifted (if I’m not too tired).

The biggest difference is that my fine ( and not so fine) lines have benefitted greatly from the extra hydration. There is a smoothness that makes concealer application much easier. I know there is no such thing as a magic eye cream.

Dr Sturm delivered on her promise of having anti-aging properties in a formula that did not inflame the very sensitive tissue around my eyes. I am going to keep using both Sturm eye creams, rotating depending on weather and how much hydration my lids need in various climates, and times of stress that cause my eyes to look older and need the boost of the richer anti- aging formula.

I bought this along with the spot treatment from the same line to win the fight against maskne. I put it on the areas that was irritated, my nose, and cheeks from wearing the mask. Using this in combination with the darker skin tones really helped.

I’ve been using it for two weeks now and the planet I had growing on my nose is basically gone now. I have the hyperpigmentation where the pimples were and the ha serum from the darker skin tones like really helped.

My coworker complimented on how bright my skin looked today and it felt so much better compared to three weeks ago wearing a band aid on my nose lookin like I lost a fight. I got the face mask in a mini size and it’s the same application as this one.

There’s no fragrance and it’s easy to apply, I’ve commented on the face mask before but I will say it again I was using the Aztec clay mask mixing making sure I have the right proportion and then washing to make sure it doesn’t clog the drain, feeling the tightness and pain thinking that pain=products are working.

and I’m not saying that it didn’t work I can see you do get what you pay for There is no applicator with the mask but we should all know by now to wash your hands before you touch your face. It’s very smooth to put on, doesn’t cover your entire skin surface, meaning that I can still see my skin under the mask which is not a bad thing.

at first I thought do I have to apply more, and when I applied more on the areas that have the acne I can still see my skin. You don’t feel the pulsating feeling like with other masks, but after the 10-15 min I looked in the mirror and it looked like it was gone, not sure if that means that it’s being absorbed into my skin.

Then I shower and rub it off in the shower and my skin felt so smooth. I I still can’t believe how much I spent on this there was a mini sale when I bought it , which isn’t a lot of $ for sturm products but something is better than nothing.

You do get what you paid for in my experience using it.

All the products from this brand are just amazing! Seriously. I have very very sensitive skin, and for years I ve been looking for something which would not make my skin upset, red or irritated. And finaly I ve found it.

3. ) Triple lipid complex: This comes from the natural lipids in the cream which help against transepdiemral water loss, and fill in the natural fats in the epidermal layer. 4. ) Epidermal junction: The epidermal junction is between the epidermis and dermis and allows nutrients to pass from the bloodstream to our skin.

As it degrades it becomes harder for our skin to be nourished and the bistorta root helps maintain this junction! 5. ) Marine plankton: This is also used for its antioxidant properties but also has a lot of minerals which help to preserve collagen and fight against free radicals that cause cause its degradation.

I really do like this cream. I am young so I cant say anything about its wrinkle benefits but my mom love this cream and her lines are practically non-existent. I use this one occasionally at night when my skin needs a little extra TLC, and it seriously leaves my face so soft.

Im fr waking up with glass skin when I use it, but its so pricey I usually buy it on sale from the sturm website or during holiday season. It does last a while and the ingredient science is seriously top notch, so if your looking to splurge or get a nice gift, definitely try this one.

I recently ran out of my Biologique Recherche Dermopurifiante face cream and noticed some flakiness that begins an ugly flaky/zitty oil overproduction cycle for people with skin like mine, so in desperation I tried this Dr.

Barbara Sturm Super Anti Aging cream sample on top of my Sunday Riley Luna Drops, after my Biologique nighttime cleansing routine. I woke up with luminous, smooth, supple retexturized skin, not a hint of greasiness or flakiness.

All I needed to do in the morning was to splash some water on my face, pat dry and my face was ready for makeup. I have no long term results because this was a sample, but in the short term, this cream is a game changer.

I got better results from this cream than I do from my current Biologique Recherche Dermopurifiante cream so I will be switching. Now the dilemma: I got similar results from Kat Burki Intensive Vitamin C cream and that is hundreds of dollars less than Dr.

Barbara Sturm Super Anti Aging Cream. Decisions, decisions.

I almost never review products. However, the Dr Sturm products have become my single beauty product line. I am 68 and haven’t been the most careful person – smoking, too thin and it has impacted my skin.

(I quit smoking) Over the last years, I have tried most of the high end products – La Mer, La Prairie, Cle de Peau, Chantecaille, etc. They are not bad but I have found that the Dr Sturm line is far superior.

The anti-aging face cream is remarkable in that it is very nourishing yet doesn’t leave a slimy, smelly feeling on my skin. The product absorbs into my skin after the anti-aging serum and brightening serum to leave a smooth, silky feel.

I particularly enjoy the fact that Dr Sturm does not need to fragrance every product with some overwhelming rose scent. Roses are beautiful but I do not want to smell like a rose. I want to wear my perfume for my scent.

I have noticed a significant change in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The cream is expensive and worth the price. It lasts a long time as I use very little to achieve the results. It really should be a part of a full routine with the enzyme cleanser (my favorite) a serum or two and the cream.

I also use the facial mask. This is a product you will love.
