20 Best Long Term Food Storage Containers (2023 Updated)

I have a set of each size and am buying more of the large & medium sizes. I have no difficulty with the lids and love that they fit tightly! They are great for left over tuna salad. for that next sandwich.

and beets in juice. no spill, no stain! We need to reuse the plastic that is already circulating, and this is an excellent way to do just that. I diligently strive not to buy plastic items that have not been recycled.

I have more than one small storage container. They are just the right size for storing leftovers. I knocked one of the containers out of my refrigerator and nothing spilled out. I make pudding and they are just the right size for that snack.

They are stackable and don’t take up too much room in my cabinets. My favorite containers.

I have had no issues with these perfectly sized containers. I wasn’t sure I’d like the screw top lid but it’s actually handier than your typical sealed lid that has to be pried off and sometimes things spill out.

The top seals tight and easily opens. They are a convenient size for leftovers, a lunch bowl or kids cereal. I put them in the dishwasher but not the microwave as plastics are not recommended for heating up food these days.

I would like to know if that would be safe with these? Great buy!.

I really love the design and function of these containers! They are durable and the lids seal very easily with a quick twist. They stack nicely, and securely on top of one another. Would have given 5 stars, but one was cracked upon receipt and they need to be packed a little better for shipping.

But the cracked one is still usable, and I love them, so it was not worth returning.

These storage containers are great in the pantry for items purchased in bulk or to simply store contents of open packages which usually clutter up the shelves. With the easy lock, flat lids, smaller/shorter containers are easily stacked and.

easy to see what’s inside each unit as well. Do I really believe in these containers? This is my third set!!.

These bins hold 5 pounds of sugar with room to easily measure for recipes. I love that they are easy for an older woman to lift, and that they stack upon another one of the same size on my shelves. I also love that they are dishwasher safe so when I empty one I can wash it before I refill it.

How perfect is that!.

Great container. Sturdy. Easy snap closures. Hope it lasts forever, because the price is darn high for what it is. The price is the only reason for subtracting one star. It is the right size & shape for what I was looking for, so I bit the bullet and paid the price.

Wow! What a wonderful size-it should hold a lot- I’m going to use one for baking utensils and cookie cutters and a second one for icing tools and decoration sprinkles,etc and I still will have room to buy more goodies.

Third container is still up for grabs. The plastic is not as rigid as other ones I have bought so I hope it holds up.

Purchased these for leftovers and omg! Love the sizes and the fact that they are light weight. The shape helps save space in fridge and I love that it seals nice and tight! (Can’t smell the onions!) I might order a few more because these are also perfect for storing crafts or extra supplies.

So many uses!!! My daughter asked for a set to store her scrapbooking and journaling supplies! So excited!.

They are much smaller than I expected. when I opened the box I had to laugh because they were so small. But I do like them to store stuff like pins and needles. The biggest one I measured around 7 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches.

some measure about 3 inches by 4 inches. So if want something to store large amounts in these are not it.

These are just what I needed to straighten up my cupboards. The great thing about them is that all the lids are the same size and fit all the different sized bottoms. They are also easy to open and close, unlike some others I have used.

I purchased one of these about a month or two ago to go with other glass food storage containers. This container is not only adorable, but a good size for larger leftovers (holds much more than my Pyrex Snapware containers).

Make sure to read the directions and don’t microwave the lid and you won’t have any trouble with it. Also remove the little silicone ring from the lid when washing to make sure it gets thoroughly clean and dry.

You can leave the silicone bumper on the container when washing.

This unique size is perfect for many healty snacks (cucumber sticks, raw green beans. ). It seems well made & airtight. The silicone cover provides an easier surface for gripping & even protection from breakage.

I am comfortable letting children use it. I haven’t tried it yet with liquids, but hope to soon, & hope it will give me a wider variety of food I can carry in my car without using plastic.

This is a good quality food storage lunch container. In regards to having issues regarding removing the cover after using the microwave. Read the short product directions. It says to remove the cover when putting into the microwave.

It’s easy to clean and retains no food odor.

Very disappointed in rubbermaid brand with these. They only last about two or three times. I only used them to store homemade dog food in fridge or feezer. They crack easy and become super brittle in the feezer.

They would not last if you actually used them for lunch items or things you carry out of the house. I never microwaved them and only hand wash them, but I can’t see them lasting in the microwave or a dishwasher either.

The plastic is awful compared to my other thicker more flexible plastic rubbermaid products, I have used rubbermaid for 40 years and they have now lost a customer. They got super cheap and now have terrible quality.

I purchased these myself. Here we have some Rubbermaid plastic storage containers, I’m sure everyone has bought them at some point or another. These are handy, sturdy plastic food containers. These food containers can be stacked closed for extra storage space, come in a couple of colors, and work great on keeping food/leftovers fresh! These containers have a strong seal, so no air gets in, no food gets out.

These Rubbermaid containers are affordable for people on All budgets, Yes I recommend to everyone, not like I need to though.

My high school son loves these. He is very prideful and you wouldn’t dear catch him with a lunch box and those plastic zip baggy things especially at school. But there are some chips he loves and he said one day he took a pack to school and all the kids were begging him for some cause they saw the package and they like it also.

Finally I got those containers and to my surprise he asked for all 3 to use to put chips in to take to school. It has been 5 days since he has been going to school with them. He said that he loves those snack containers for so many reasons.

He said that it is small enough to fit in his bookbag. He said that it keeps his chips fresh. He said that it is wonderful camouflage lol. I one the other hand thinks it is very easy to clean. I think it is lightweight.

I think it is strong, think great material was used to make it. It’s not bulky, doesn’t take too much space in my dishwasher or cabinet. I would definitely recommend this.

I, like nearly everyone else, hopped on the food storage wave. I went through just about every brand listed on Home Deliveries USA and on other retailers and debated over what set to buy for a few weeks.

While some of the other Home Deliveries USA brands come with more containers and cost less, the reviews that talked about how they werent air-tight, werent the proper sizes, or the material wasnt fully clear as advertised steered me away.

I mean, I have an aesthetic to uphold! When I saw these, I knew that despite the price which did hurt a tad, these would be worth it considering rubbermaid has a very solid reputation, and the reviews only further reflected that.

I finally bought them and they arrived very quickly which I was surprised about since I live in AL and things tend to take longer to ship and I wasnt disappointed by any means. Theyre crystal clear, the perfect sizes, stackable, air tight, look great, the whole 9 yards! I has two containers come stuck together and rubbermaid had them replaced in 2 days.

Honestly, theyre 10000% worth the investment if you want to properly store food or make your pantry look bougie. Will probably convince someone to gift me more!.

This entire brilliance line is superb. During black Friday I went a tad neurotic on getting all my organizing stuff purchased. my pantry and my fridge have never looked better! I make meal prep in these, great for leftovers for work lunches.

Breakfast prep is easy, cottage cheese and peaches or pineapple, or eggs and salsa or toast. Can eat, usually still warm 30 mins later when I arrive at work. The seals on any food container will never be perfect IMO, but these are rather pleasant.

The vents can be used for either reheating or for cooling off prior to placing in the fridge. The lids are interchangeable with the entire brilliance line, which comes in handy during quick rush out the door food taking.

I ended up purchasing 2 sets of the full pantry collection, and plan on purchasing another of the actual meal prep set again. Theyre just so handy and even though I label mine with dissolvable labels, you can easily see the contents inside and how much remains.

Unfortunately, like almost everyone in our neighborhood, we have mice and even rats. The best defense is keeping all kinds of food, especially grains, locked up tight so they dont even smell them. The lids on these are pretty strong.

Otherwise, a rat will actually chew away the closing mechanism, but so far, these have held firm — possibly because they dont smell the contents when they are correctly closed. The many sizes are good, although as is always the case, you sometimes get more of one size than you can use, and then not as many as you would have liked in another size!Im actually trying to switch to glass, but I was still glad to get these to use and review, and have given them a good test against my mouse plague.

Once my pasta, rice, etc went into these, and after some additional visits where they looked for any little siftings of flour that escaped, the mice stopped going into my firmly closed pantry and leaving their little calling cards.

How mice get into a closed pantry is another topic, but at any rate, so far — no more mice.

I am VERY glad that I purchased these containers. I have been looking for some to replace the plastic containers with. I bought multiples so I am ready for the holiday leftovers for sure! I love the idea of these going from the freezer to over, or from fridge to microwave easily.

I really like the vents on top as well. I have not noticed any staining of the lids thus far.

I wouldn’t have even ordered the set except that in *one* place in the description, it made it sound like the set included two containers of each size. But everything else was for a 6-piece set, so I wasn’t the least bit surprised when I received the shipment and there were only one of each size container.

They are nice pieces – thick glass, nice lids, good quality. But at this point in time, I couldn’t justify the cost, so I returned them.

This is for baking and storage from left over. It’s a gift that my daughter use for baking. She loves how sturdy the dish is and how easy to use,

i bought this to store rice in my pantry. its much too small. I should have looked at the dimensions in the product details. I dont think this will hold 21 cups of rice. The container may have volume to hold 21 cups, but because of the slanted side opening, the container cant be filled up completely or the rice will fall out when it’s opened.

ii plan on returning it to get something bigger.

This container is not as large as I was hoping. I do not believe it will hold 5 lb. of flour. I do like how you can get into it by opening just the top flap. I would’ve preferred the round hard plastic air tight container- it is bigger- but walmart quit carrying it.

I now have several of these containers with the flip top lids-in both 5 and 2. 5 litre sizes. Several were bought as birthday and mother’s day gifts over the year for me and my pantry is the best organised !!!! I keep pasta, coffee pods, rice and dry biscuits in mine.

The lid does not close perfectly tight but still they seem to work incredibly well at keeping food fresh and handy on my pantry shelves. great product.

These are the only storage containers I purchase for my dry storage. I have been using this variety for years. I love how you just push down the button and it vacuum seals the container. I also love that they are clear, so that you can see exactly what is in the container.

They do a great job at keeping your food fresh. I use them to store my pasta, nuts, coffee, chips, chocolate chips, and the list goes on. I have never had a problem with any food item going stale in them.

This set comes with a nice variety of sizes. The only issue I had was with the tall pasta container. It is a bit too tall to fit on almost any shelf in my pantry. That one I had to put on the top shelf of my pantry, which I normally reserve for kitchen gadgets.

Obviously, the manufacturer had no real choice in this matter. The height of the container is based on the height of spaghetti, linguine, and pastas like that. The containers are square so you could also store them on their sides, and write the name of the food item on the lid with a dry erase marker.

The smallest of the containers, really is tiny, but it is perfect for those items that you tend to not have a ton of. For example, if you have a bag of loose candy, this container would be perfect for that.

So far, I’ve been using the containers for months, and they still work perfectly. I do hand wash them once they are empty, which is super easy to do. I would definitely recommend them. They work perfect for dry storage.

I like the good grips containers. The lids have a simple push button lock/unlock system for sealing the container. While it is certainly possibly to dislodge the lid when it’s locked it’s not very easy to do unless the top of the container has stuff on it like sugar that acts as a barrier between the lid and the container preventing a solid grip.

I loaded mine up with standard baking fare (flour, sugar, etc. ) and they work very well. I have taken to picking them up by the lids with no worries about the seal breaking. If it does get dirty, the lids can be partially disassembled for cleaning and I believe it said dishwasher safe though I could be mistaken.

Fingerprints are not a big issue like glass and they are fairly light. Square design allows for more effective storage and I personally appreciate it for rice, the corners allow for better pour control filling up the cup for my rice maker.

Button operates easily and cleanly. Stylish and functional, these made a very nice addition to our kitchen. Certainly a worthwhile buy.

Fell in love instantly and ended up buying aton of these to fill my kitchen. I love these containers so much, being able to see all my food items when I reach for them, and keeping them fresh after I open the original packaging.

As soon as I received these I went straight to the store and bought a bit more than I should have in these containers. They are just so nice. Thick plastic, with a pop on the top to seal the container.

The seal is really powerful, I have strong teas in one of the containers and when the seal is in place I cannot smell the tea. But as soon as the button is pressed I smell it instantly. I am so impressed by these containers, and I will update regularly for these, just in case these are to good to be true.

I’m leaving a review because I have been looking for a storage solution since adopting another dog. Not too tall so it can fit under a shelf but still acommodate the large 25-30 lb bags. I got the 2 count – – one bag of food we use is 26 lbs and the other is 30lbs.

The 30 lb bag doesn’t really fit because I can’t close the lid. (I just learned I’m not supposed to empty the bags in the plastic containers. If I did, i could probably fit all 30 lbs of food but no guarantee there either.

) It’s a bummer because based on description and a couple of reviews I thought the bigger bag would be ok. That said, I’m keeping it because anything bigger would not fit under the shelf. Overall I like them.

Looks good and feels mostly secure. And the 26 lb bag seems to fit just fine. Much easier to dispense food than the food *vaults. These lids seem to work well. Last thing I don’t understand the little cups (too small).

And there is a little basket that goes under the lid – not sure what that is for – maybe a deodorizer?.

This is great! I have a large breed and I like to order the 30-40lb bags for his food. This container is a great size for me to store his food in without taking up too much space. It’s pretty easy to put it together and I liked that it came with a measuring cup.

Admittedly I think the measuring cup only goes to 3/4 or may 1 cup so I use it in a different container for my smaller dogs but still handy nonetheless. I would recommend this product to anyone and will likely order another to store my smaller breeds’ food.

This container fits in a lower cabinet in our kitchen and is a great way to store dog food. I like that the lid is clear so you can see how much food is inside. The “scoop” for the food is small (says 1C) and the tray is not useful, so that is the reason I gave it 4 stars.

I have an ant problem so after trying some other storage options from a major name (some of the styles DN have a tight seal) I thought I’d try these at a sale of $33. They turned out great & I’d buy more but the price went up.

A little warning, I washed them all by hand & put the tops in the dishpan. oops ! Water got inside through the tiny holes on top where they lock. I got it all dried out & they’re fine. I would suggest cleaning the side that touches your food with a soft cloth.

These are made nice, they are much smaller than the ones I have which compliments my oxo larger containers. They are made nice with nice handles that flip up and lock when down. They come with nice stickers that are like chalk board to label and a piece of chalk.

I really like these and at a great price.

The seals could be a better fit, when closing the container it has a tendency slip down when placing the cover on container. The lid seal should be permanently attached to lid as to where it won’t slide down when securing lid (cover).

Best portioning container for once a month cooking. Stacks very well in freezer, owned most of mine for 2 years + and no cracks in this size and large. I store vegetable, beef and chicken stock in the freezer as needed and it’s perfect and individual meals.

I have 30 of the small one’s and 10 of the large.

I’ve been using Glad for many years. They come in different sizes and colors so that’s fun!! Prices are good. Durable. Great for packing foods, meal prep, lunches and much more. I would definitely recommend.

I really love the Ziploc freezer. I never have an issue with putting items such as leftovers in them in the freezer. I’ve never had an issue with any of them cracking. They are super easy to clean. I would definitely recommend.

After I had bought a set of Glasslock storage containers a couple of years ago, I quickly realized how useful they were. They seal very well, are space saving and stackable in the freezer, and being able to reheat leftovers in them makes these containers quite convenient! I soon found that I wanted to buy another set, but they were no longer offered and eventually I gave up on ever being able to purchase another set of these containers.

Thus, I was really quite pleased when I recently saw that Sam’s Club was once again offering these fantastic glass containers to its customers! I certainly wasted no time in buying another set!.

I’ve had these containers for a couple years now. I send leftovers to family and friends and now they have purchased their own sets! The lid easily and securely snaps on. Remove lid and reheat food in microwave.

I use these containers when I make soup and put them in the freezer. Heat under warm water and cubes easily slide out to reheat frozen soup in a pot. The very small containers are great for holding sauces.

Also use them as serving dishes as I keep them easily accessible for all their uses. I have couple sets!.

I got these May 2021 and still have them all. GLASS is better, there are DIOXIN, a cancer chemical in plastic and I threw out ALL plastic and have gone straight to glass! They are wonderful. They keep food fresh for a good length.

Only thing is the blue rubber seal comes out but they need washing too to rinse food but a year later they are perfect! I even dropped one and it didn’t break on my kitchen floor!!!.

Have only used these a few times but so far I am very pleased. The sizes are great and the lids seem to work well. However, you cannot fill them too full or the vacuum will not hold. Easy to solve though.

The little pump is simple and easy to use. It can get liquid food in it if the container is too full but I had no trouble cleaning it. There is nothing to fail here unlike some storage systems which I like a lot.

Great value for the price and I would definitely buy it again.

Like the larger size for storing romaine lettuce. Other sizes are good. Wish there was more variety in those sizes. As the small ones aren’t as useful for me. But maybe will them for something to freeze.

This container is great! I use it for proofing bread dough, and it works amazingly. the clear graduations make it so simple to tell how much the dough has expanded. This tub is great for my medium batches of dough.

with a piece of cling film over the top these are perfect! Would recommend to anyone who need a solution to proofing bread!.

Using these to store bread and all purpose flour and they work like a dream. Am able to fit about 10lbs of flour in each. The handles are easy to grab, the numbers on the side are clear and large. the plastic is sturdy and feels durable.

I had all mixed glass containers in my pantry. All different sizes and shapes. Now I switched to the Sistema Tristan system and OMG my pantry is neat and tidy and I have so much more room because these container stack perfectly on top of each other.

Best investment made.

I spent a lot of time researching new containers to update my pantry storage, and these were top of my list! They look great, are easy to stack and most importantly are airtight. I replaced all of the heavy glass jars I was using with these.

They are excellent. Was looking for something pantry moth proof after an infestation, and these are spot-on. My only (very minor) gripe is that the lids are such a precision fit that they can be difficult to seat unless you watch carefully what you are doing.

Other than that, they will be my go-to container set.
