20 Best Laptop With Full Size Keyboard (2023 Updated)

Generally, this is a good replacement laptop that I purchased because I was having serious memory issues with my old computer. The ASUS Vivobook laptop has a separate larger solid state hard drive, though the default Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, & Downloads drives are on the smaller C drive.

You have to manually redirect files to the D drive. It’s easy to overtax the C drive because it is significantly smaller than the D drive, so I do recommend changing your settings to default to D. My other key issue with this laptop is the speaker volume.

It is very low at its loudest, which makes it very hard to watch videos or listen to music on without using external speakers or headphones. And it does not have a CD/DVD drive, which is still helpful for people who still listen to music or watch videos on disc, so an external CD/DVD drive is necessary for this.

I also purchased an external mouse and keyboard because the shape of the number pad is not intuitive and the keys do not follow the key pattern of the number keys on a standard keyboard. It only has 3 USB drive ports, so an external USB-hub is needed if you need to plug in more than that.

It does have a 3. 5mm audio jack and an HDMI port, so those are useful as well. It runs quickly and generally smoothly, with fast download speeds and none of the slowness I was experiencing with the laptop I bought this to replace.

So it’s not a perfect computer, but it is a good computer for the purpose for which I purchased it – to handle the workload – and computer programs like SPSS statistical software or the Microsoft Office suite – needed for graduate school.

Overall performance of the laptop is good, very sleek and light weighted, although I wish this laptop came with at least 12 or 16 gb RAM / Memory, then it would really scale and match the i7 comuting power to the full spectrum.

1TB/ 256GB SSD is great, however 512 GB is becoming the new min SSD standard. This comes with the windows 10 safe version and needs to be tweaked, to be changed to Windows home, which allows you to be able to install additional software like Norton or McAfee antivirus or other windows apps – Why create the hassle for customers and preconfigure it already(question for Asus team)? This laptop wasnt supposed to be touch screen or backlit enabled, at least best busy advertises as a non-touch screen, non-backlit laptop, so was surprised to see the laptop has both features.

Read some of the other reviews as well, where the customers were just as pleasently surprised. The real cons on the laptop: (1) No removable battery, (2) no CD changer/writer, (3)The USB-C doesnt not support video, meaning –> if you would like to use a hub to connect to 2 different monitors it wont work via the USB C port)- (4) Has only one small external memory card slot, unlike the standard larger ones where an adpter can be used for all sizes of memory cards (5) Sounds is a bit low compared my HP laptops, should be scaled up for better user experience (6)- The camera is probably the worst, almost useless camera, since it is very pixelated and the image is very grainy even from 1 feet distance the best lighting BIG CON for all folks who use Zoom for day to day work.

Con#3 and #6 from above are worst and can impact the quality of the work on daily basis. “If the product rating were to be given purely on USB-C port and the camera- then I would rate it it only 1 star” Asus team – Fix the poor camera to a higher resolution camera, with a external privacy shutter and USB C port to support data and Video, increase the default RAM to 12 or 16 gb, especially these are so darn cheap, so why skimp on it?.

I may have more complaints about Windows-10 than about the computer, but I don’t know what controls the features I don’t like. Physical features: Keyboard is hard to “read”; silver keys with clear back-lit letters.

Light escapes around keys too. Lid/screen has a stiff hinge & I have to hold down the keyboard to lift the lid. Pointy rubber “pads” that may hold the computer still while on a desk, but dig into my legs when on my lap.

Newer processor won’t run Windows-7. Single and double click feature on touch pad seem location sensitive (more towards the top of the pad). TERRIBLE built-in speakers. Screen resolution is excellent! Much lighter than my Mac (2013) Software(?): “Tap” feature on the touch pad.

Rest your finger on the pad and suddenly you have selected something you don’t want. — Finally got rid of it! Pop up “alerts” from add-on software. Can’t figure out how to stop them! I bought the Asus to teach a Windows only program.

But I hope to also control a CNC wood router with it — which is why I wish it would run Windows-7 and make my life easier. 😉 Like I said, the Asus was a good price, and, so far, it’s working just fine.

This laptop at the time of writing is hands down the lowest price you can get an RTX 3050 laptop, at $550 most laptops peddle the aged GTX 1650 or worse. But do not let the price fool you, this laptop while with some rough edges, can really shine with a little polishing.

The absolute first thing to do if nothing else, is adding more ram, the single stick of 8GB of ram is criminal in how it kneecaps performance in single channel. The second is more storage. The beautiful thing Lenovo did was give you the option, either to use the 2nd M.

2 slot or install a SATA SSD/HDD, the bracket kit was in the box and it is what I used, added a cheap SATA 500GB SSD along with an extra 8GB stick and now this was ready to roll. The screen while not very bright, is bright enough, the 120hz display is a treat.

I personally like the “style” of keyboard, hard to describe it but the lettering is engraved VS simply “printed”, it feels better to the touch and of higher quality. The CPU is “weak” in how it is “only” 4 cores, but with Hyperthreading netting 8 threads, it is enough especially for the GPU it is paired with, speaking of, this one is rated at 85 watts, there are more expensive ones with RTX 3050 rated at 60 watts or less! Though from my monitoring, it needs to be in “performance” mode to let the GPU go full blast, this is by cycling the three modes, silent, auto and performance, FN+Q cycles it with a little icon indicating what is activated.

The performance for the class is good, heat is well managed, I did not see the CPU pass 74C, GPU 75C, which is decent for a gaming laptop, fan noise is acceptable, lower pitch rush of air, not a high whiney one.

Battery life is a bit below average, did not extensively try but I noticed it drained quicker than others that I had (browsing, no sane person will game on the battery. will they?) Build is all plastic but well done, I have zero complaints of my purchase, thank you Lenovo!.

Recently purchased this laptop for my son for school and casual gaming. Processor and graphics card are the star of the show leaving RAM and Storage lacking. After setup, I immediately had to purchase a single 8GB stick and 1TB HHD.

Luckily, bestbuy had a PNY 8GB PC4-3200 stick for $27. 99 and the crucial 1TB SSD cost $60. 99. Continuing on things I did not like, case can be difficult to open if you don’t have one of those tools to pry and slide over the edges to lift the bottom case after removing 10 screws.

There’s a Hard drive caddy, ribbon to connect SSD to motherboard (ensure that blue part of the ribbon faces upwards) and some screws to hold everything in place. Once I upgraded the Storage and RAM, the improvements were significant considering the fact that you are now accessing dual memory and doubling the bandwidth for gaming/task.

Also, with 2 hard drives, the Nvme will be used for windows and some programs where games will be stored on SSD. As for battery life, that thing will keep you close to a wall for power as the battery is on the smaller side and it’s a gaming laptop.

So I would expect no more than 2 hours even when the 3050 is not in use and the onboard IRIS graphics handles all the load. So to wrap up, at $549 this is hard to beat as I’ve only seen laptops with GTX 1650s in that budget space but you will need to upgrade RAM and add a SSD or Nvme( forgot to mention that Lenovo does not include the screw/mount to hold up the Nvme).

Plus battery life is terrible.

It’s a great ‘gaming’ laptop without all of the little cosmetic annoyances like RGB and looking like it comes out of Battlestar Galactica. The front panel of the laptop is super clean and is just begging to be stickerbombed.

It runs things well due to the RTX 3050, and has support for DLSS which really helps things out in terms of framerate. The battery is nothing to write home about, and one of the first upgrades you should buy for it is more RAM.

8GB is rough to work with, but that’s the compromise you get for the purchase price. Then, another SSD. Lenovo seems to support upgrades, as it comes with a little bag of goodies with screws and other materials need for hardware upgrades.

(Which is really nice!) It doesn’t run too hot, as theres plenty of heat vents and a decent cooling system, albeit I haven’t tested it on max settings with something really demanding. Things run pretty smoothly, and the CPU is up to snuff for things you’d run on a laptop.

The GPU wonderfully renders things cleanly (Just make sure to disable battery saving options for the most performance) and it runs Blender and Sony Vegas well, so it’s a good mobile work machine. I took a risk buying this with 0 reviews, but for the sale price of $600, I’m very satsified.

Games tested: Battlefield 4, Counter-Strike: Source, Risk of Rain 2, Call of Duty: Modern-Warfare (and others). I like Lenovo, and would love a little swag bag.

Miliony odtworzonych filmików na YT. i zero info o tym laptopie, bo akurat wszedł na rynek. Przy wyborze brałam pod uwagę to, żeby laptop: 1. Działał płynnie przez kolejne 2-3 lata, 2. Miał dobrą jasność ekranu i wyraźne kolory 3.

Miał błyszczącą matrycę 4. 16 GB (aby spełnić pkt nr 1 16ka to must have) 5. 512 GB SSD (tutaj dylemat czy 512 czy 1T -ale zawsze można dokupić pamięć) 6. Podświetlana klawiatura brałam pod uwagę jeszcze LGgram oraz pod kątem ewentualnej wytrzymałości i gier AsusaTufGaming.

Jednak obietnice producenta co do ekranu i jakości obrazu wygrały 🙂 Jak napisałam wyżej, mamy ps5, także nie było ciśnienia na coś gamingowego. ale wybór AsusaVivobook nie był jednak prosty z uwagi na to, że jest kilka modeli różniących się wnętrzem.

I tak zastanawiałam się pomiędzy innym procesorem – AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, który wydaje mi się lepszy od mojego Intel Core i5-11300H (ale nie znam się – mogę się mylić) oraz pomiędzy pamięcią moja ma 512 GB SSD, a jest model z 1T.

No i ostatecznie decyzja w sprawie karty graficznej – czy brać model tańszy, ale bez NVidia czy droższy, ale z ta kartą? Popytałam, doradziłam się i ostatecznie zdecydowałam się na model Laptop ASUS VivoBook K3500PC 15.

6″ OLED i5-11300H 16GB SSD 512GB GeForce RTX3050 Windows 10 Home – karta graficzna przyzwoita z 4 GB (mogłoby być więcej 😉 ) i z tego co udało mi się zorientować w ramach porównywania kilkunastu modeli, ten laptop w takiej cenie z takimi bebechami jest naprawdę bardzo przyzwoity.

OBRAZ ROBI MEGA WRAŻENIE!!! <3 Ocena użytkowania po 2 tygodniach: 1. Laptop nie taki piękny wizualnie jak to opisują ;) 2. Ale liczy się wnętrze ;),a to działa płynnie i sprawnie - cichutko, wszystko śmiga bez zarzutów, nic nie przycina, chyba, że brać pod uwagę naukę zdalną i wygaszacz na Teamsach - przyblokował kompa.

3. Touchpad – magia!!! Delikatny i czuły, korzystanie z touchpada jest rewelacyjne! 4. Klawiatura – podświetlana, podświetlenie białe, świecą się literki i poświata pod klawiszami. A, że jestem przed pisaniem kolejnej pracy mgr, to wiem, że na tej klawiaturze nic więcej do szczęścia nie trzeba – chodzi leciutko, cicho i ekstra odbija klawisze.

Drażni czasami dźwięk spacji, który robi coś w stylu “ciach” 😉 Dodatkowo jest klawiatura numeryczna 🙂 Także klawiatura na wypasie, pełen standard. 5. Złącza – tutaj się nie wypowiem, poza usb do myszki nie korzystam z niczego, ale z opisu wynikało, że mogłoby być trochę bogatsze 😉 6.

Wi-fi – to 2 największa zaleta tego laptopa poza ekranem – Internet na tym laptopie wymiata – wieczny problem z jupisi 😉 odszedł w niepamięć. 7. Kamerka internetowa – nie będę kłamać – może być, szału nie ma, ale wystarcza.

8. Głośniki – specem nie jestem, wg mnie, laika wszystko ok. 9. Bateria – trzyma kilka godzin ok. 5. Jeśli ktoś się zastanawia nad wyborem, to ten model serdecznie polecam, bo warto 🙂 Nie ma nic lepszego w tej cenie, sprawdziłam ;).

TranslateShow in original languageJeżeli szukasz nowego laptopa do pracy w domu – a tak było w moim przypadku, to Asus Vivobook Pro jest doskonałym wyborem. Moja przygoda z Asusem trwa już dobrych kilka lat i właśnie przyszedł czas na nowy model.

Po długiej lekturze opinii specjalistów i tych, co za specjalistów się uważają, wybór padł na Vivobook Pro 15 cali. I to była słuszna decyzja. Lekki, kompaktowy a jednocześnie z dużym jak na 15 monitorem (prawie w ogóle nie ma ramki), dzięki technice Oled sprawia, że ostrość obrazu jest wyśmienita.

Dla osób dużo piszących ważna jest klawiatura – ta jest satynowa w dotyku, szybka, pisze się samo. O pojemności dysku i parametrach technicznych nie będę się rozwodzić, powiem jedno jest szybki jak Tom Cruise w Top Gun.

I jeszcze głośniki harman/kardon. Czegóż chcieć więcej. Polecam z całego serca, ja jestem zachwycona.

Lekki, cienki na plus obudowa pokrywy jest metalowa. Jakość ekranu jest nieporównywalna z żadna inna matrycą, OLED naprawdę robi różnicę. Do oglądania filmów – ideał. Jeśli chodzi o jakość dźwięku to raczej standard, natomiast w trakcie pracy komputer nie jest słyszalny.

Jeśli chodzi o klawiaturę jena rzecz mi osobiście przeszkadza, małe klawisze strzałek. W moim trochę starszym Asusie są one pełnowymiarowe, natomiast tutaj są mniejsze. Być może jest to kwestia przyzwyczajenia.

Generalnie polecam.

if you want a laptop with the best spec possible for the price, this isn’t it. But if you want a good gaming laptop, but with great build quality and design, rival to the Macbook, then this is it, albeit its high price.

– The design is beautiful, and doesn’t scream gaming laptop. But it’s a fingerprint magnet – The screen has good color accuracy, bright enough for a gaming laptop (but not enough if you’re using it outdoor), high refresh rate, although 300Hz is way too overkill and your games will probably never reach it.

– Speaker is a bit disappointing. Bass is almost non-existent. – Keyboard has good layout, minimalist font, great RGB. It’s a bit shallow to type on, but I don’t hate it. – Trackpad is large, smooth, good tactility.

One of the best trackpad for windows laptop. – Temperature is hot when under load, fan noise is quite loud, but it has a high pitch so it could be annoying. I would say this is one of the best looking gaming laptops on the market, hands down.

But you’re sacrificing power for build quality, and with a high price too.

Laptop defective out of the box, laptop keyboard does not work. I’m going trough Razer’s customer support and it is an ordeal! I have gone through three different representatives and now finally received a response from a “specialist,” asking me to perform a TRILLION more troubleshooting steps (none of the troubleshooting has fixed the keyboard by the way.

) Next time I’m afraid they’ll ask me to take the laptop apart and repair it myself. They even want a video replicating the problem plus a million other troubleshooting steps before they even talk about sending in the laptop for repair.

Yes, the laptop is still under warranty. I can guarantee anyone that buys a Razer laptop is someone who knows their way around a PC- I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO FOX THIS KEYBOARD even before reaching out to Razer support [if it can even be called “support.

”] The troubleshooting steps sent by Razer are ridiculous. For example, “restart” your PC -are you serious? Cheapskate company with outsourced customer support in some Fourth World country, yet they charge a premium for their defective brand name.

The build is decent, however switching from a MacBook Pro makes the Razer keyboard and trackpad (which has “press buttons” for left- and right-click) feel a bit cheap. The 4K touch display is beautiful, even when comparing the the MacBookPro, however I’m not a “touchscreen guy” so can’t say much about that functionality.

The Quadro RTX 5000 needs no praise — it’s a beastly GPU with 16GB of memory for heavy workloads. Although my Razer Studio laptop ended up crashing during a firmware update and never booted up again, the laptop performed excellently for the three days prior to malfunctioning.

On the other hand, *buyer beware*: Razer support is horrendous (non-existent?). After being on the phone with technical support for two hours, they agreed to replace it. They sent me a package slip the following day for overnight delivery back to their warehouse.

I was told I’d receive the replacement at the latest in three days following the warehouse receiving the defective unit. Because I had it for only three days before it malfunctioned, to expedite the resolution they agreed to simply replace it and not bother with a repair.

The “RMA Type” on the support page for my case is “Replace Once Received. ” This is where the support ended. The warehouse received the defective unit on a Tuesday at 10:50AM, and have been inquiring about the status of my replacement for the past four days.

Every time I call, it’s the same story: “We are in touch with the appropriate internal team and they will get back to you” either immediately, within the hour, within the day, etc. Not once did I receive any follow-up.

(Unfortunately, Razer only offers technical support and so there is no way to get in touch with anyone from customer service, RMA or warranty departments. To be honest, I don’t think Razer has such departments.

) Eventually I caught up to them and their empty promises, so began asking for the technical support agent to document our calls and what was done on their end to push forward (so a paper-trail is left for proof and it didn’t seem like I was making up stories).

More than half the the time they did not document the calls — I was sure to do it myself. After numerous calls made from my end, I was told that the case would be sent to the “Escalations Team” and I could expect them to follow up with me, again, within the hour, the day, etc.

Still no reply from anyone. In summary, I’m happy to recommend this product but pray that your device lasts. I strongly suggest future buyers to get the extended warranty through Best Buy to save themselves the headaches when needing support from Razer.

The Zenbook series of laptops is top of the line for ultra light laptops. This model is fast, light and has very little bloatware. One very serious flaw on this particular model is that the keyboard may be backlit but the letters on the keys are nearly invisible even in a brightly lit room.

Unless you are a touch-typist you will be frustrated.

i’m delighted with the specs, but there are so many little things that really reduce the value. – poor support and documentation. – usb-c ports are not standard, so docking stations don’t work. – giant charging cable.

– bios is very limited, undocumented, confusing, and basic features don’t work (unable to boot to usb) – the hd is pcie not stata, and the case is sealed, so no changing hard drives – insecure privacy agreements.

native applications collect personal data, and every samsung interaction requires full authorization to all private data for samsung and affiliates. – the numpad / keyboard layout is nonstandard and very annoying / error inducing.

– hard to manage performance; most memory is immediately used (~24gb!) on boot.

my macbook pro finally died after years of use. i wanted to try something different with. something i could work and play games with occasciolly without being flashy with all the rgb lights as didn’t want to look unprofessional.

the performance is beond my expectations i can play forza 5 in high setting with no problems have a refresh rate around 100-80 as i connect my laptop to a monitor it works great. day to day task youtube work there’s little to no wait time the computer always boots up quick my favorite feature is when i open the laptop lid it starts up automatically.

the finger printer reader works amazing with no issues. over all recommend this laptop. love the all aluminum frame not cheap plastic as many windows’ computer come in. just wish the screen had a higher fresh rate.

i’m upgrading from a ultrabook i bought around 2014 from samsung. this time i needed the ability to also do creative work on the go – so having the extra graphic ability, and max ram on this model helps.

early reviews of the base model seemed to indicate the fan would kick in quickly and often – not so much on my build. i managed to get mine with a holiday discount, there were others that came in slightly cheaper from other manufacturers, for the price it may be worth considering.

note: this laptop does not have thunderport capabilities. there are 2 usb cs but i haven’t been able to confirm if they support displayport or power delivery if you plan on using the laptop with a dock.

My last laptop finally died 6 hours before the due date for my first PhD final exam. Post Black Friday sales, every store was sold out, but BB came through with an amazing open box deal on this laptop.

So I was able to buy what I wanted instead of a laptop with the barebones necessities. Merry Christmas to me! Unboxing was effortless and without charging the laptop, it had a few hours of life right out of the box.

The battery life on this 360 is amazing! I use this all day and have no problem if I forget my charger at home. It is fast with multiple programs running and the sleep feature saves a lot of battery life for when I get busy with clients and am no longer actively typing or working.

Bonus is my cellphone cable will charge this laptop if I get in a bind, go Team Samsung! I’m not an Apple fan, but have an iPad and Apple Pencil for work. The s-pen is so much smoother than the Apple Pencil is with my iPad, I only wish GoodNotes was available on Samsung.

The reason I gave this computer 4 stars and not 5 is because this laptop is soo thin and light, you almost forget you’re holding a computer. I’m a therapist that works with kids, so I got a screen protector immediately, but had to trim it because this screen has no edge and the 2-in-1 tablet feature a 15.

6″ screen protector was too big. I also keep it in a reinforced sleeve because this laptop wasn’t cheap, I wish Samsung would come out with a hard case for the 360 Pro, it would help with the mouse pads issues I experience.

Speaking of the mouse pad, getting to know the quirks of this mouse pad was tricky. I was getting phantom clicks and highlights, with it sitting on uneven services or holding it my lap. Even on a flat tabletop, if you have the laptop towards the edge, if the entire underside of the mousepad is not supported (less than an inch off the edge), you will experience the above issues.

I found out this happens because the laptop itself is soo thin, that it registers pressure from underneath. So I always keep it on one of those hard lap desks, to give it support and help me protect it from grabbing it at possible weak points.

It’s a little frustrating when I have to carry it something else while using it, because the keyboard is a little too flexible for my liking. I got this with Windows 11, which got rid of tablet mode, but there is a function key to disable the mouse pad, I just wish is that Samsung made the function key to lock the entire keyboard when it’s folded like a tablet.

Because I did not research this extensively before buying it, my last complaint is that there are no longer any USB ports or HDMI ports, only type C’s. So I had to buy a few adapters, but it’s hasn’t been too big of an adjustment.

Otherwise I still love this laptop, and if you can deal with its quirks, I highly recommend this if you use other devices in the Samsung ecosystem.

I honestly regret buying this laptop. It’s extremely overpriced and the description and store employee oversold it. The visuals are nice, so watching movies and stuff is pretty good on it. But it was priced higher than Macbooks and the Surface Pro but doesn’t deliver as much.

I’ve used it for 10 months now, so I have a good idea about it. For one, it’s not as powerful computationally as it should be. It’s quite slow for coding project in my opinion compared to my old Dell Inspiron.

Also, it’s marketed as having a 19 hour battery life but only lasts max like maybe 5-6 hours on regular use (just web browsing, standby). If I do 2 Zoom meetings for like 1-1. 5 hours total time, I have to charge the laptop even if it started at 100% battery level.

It comes with the S Pen, which I really liked but is clearly underdeveloped compared to the Apple Pen, so taking notes and working on the laptop with it isn’t that convenient. Especially because you can’t add a page in between existing pages and have to manually cut and paste everything to shift it down.

It also just doesn’t have as many notetaking features as Apple products and the Surface Pros. The weirdest thing about this laptop is that it seems to run on its own when I turn it off or put it on sleep sometimes.

For example, twice I fully charged it and unplugged it before going to bed and the next morning it was hot and completely out of battery, not low on battery but completely drained with the empty battery and red juice image on the screen.

Also, it resets by itself sometimes; it randomly enabled security stuff like camera blocking and microphone blocking 2-3 times without any notice. So the first time I couldn’t participate in a Zoom meeting and took 20 minutes of Googling to figure out what had happened.

It also randomly opens up apps like Spotify upon starting the laptop even though I toggled that feature off for Spotify. The most annoying thing about this laptop is that it literally attracts dust. It’s like a magnet, and if I clean it with a wipe, there’s watermarks that I can’t get rid of.

So it just looks perpetually dirty. And I don’t think there’s a way to open the back of the laptop yourself to clean stuff and what not, which is also a pain because little particles get stuck and block up the air vent holes but there’s no way for me to remove them by myself.

The screen is also really annoying in that nothing will stick to it (except dust), so I can’t stick sticky notes or tape on the screen or over the camera. The camera is also in the same level as the screen (like underneath it), so putting on a camera cover would mean that your laptop won’t close completely, but then again, the camera cover won’t be able to stick on the screen in the first place.

I also find the Samsung Settings a pain because they could’ve figured out a way to combine it with the built in windows settings or something more streamlined. When I check for updates, I have to check for Windows updates AND Samsung updates, the latter of which is sketchy and often makes me restart multiple times without actually updating the drivers.

I thought it’d be nice to buy a laptop with usb-c charging ports because I hear that’s the future of computer, but maybe hold off on that trend for another year or two because it was extremely inconvenient until I bought all sorts of usb-c to usb-a adapters and stuff.

Overall, not worth the $1,400 or $1,600 (I don’t remember exactly how much it cost). And the Geek Squad plan doesn’t cover the S Pen even though it came with the laptop–kind of stupid, And yeah you’d be better off with a Surface Pro (sold out when I was in need of a new laptop), Macbook, or Dell XPS (also sold out at the time) for the same price or likely cheaper because they’re more reliable and the companies are more experienced in laptop manufacturing.

And you get more clout I guess. Also have good reputation for high-power tasks, like running code and complex computations. I hope Samsung leaves the laptop industry because they’re just not good at it.

The only good thing from this purchase is that Samsung customer care through online chats and text messaging is relatively convenient but the fact that I have to use them somewhat often is not a good sign given that I didn’t have to do this with my old Dell.

Lastly, idk if it’s worth buying the Geek Squad protection plan because you have to physically bring your device to a Best Buy to get it fixed and stuff, which isn’t feasible for college students (me) most of the year.

That’s another reason why I think it’s just better to buy directly from the manufacturer and get warranties through them. Samsung did replace my S Pen for free because it stopped working (still in warranty), but the new one is not connecting.

Bought this to bring with me to college as I will be a freshman in a few weeks and wanted something for both class and gaming. The specs were amazing for the price point and I was amazed by the weight considering my last laptop was at least 5.

5 pounds. Unfortunately, these features came with heavy costs. You could tell by holding the computer that it was cheaply made and felt like it would fall apart any second. It did. Within 2 weeks the hinge broke and was pushing on the front and backing of the screen.

It seemed like something that could be popped back into place, but it couldn’t. Now the even bigger issue was trying to find a way to get this thing fixed. Absolutely nowhere in the US that I could find will work on Samsung products! So a cheaply made, easy to break computer is unable to be fixed anywhere in the US.

Great. I sent it back as it just was not worth the effort. In addition I have some other complaints: with how thin the computer is, the thing would heat up very quickly when downloading anything or playing a game.

The touchpad as well would click if pressed from underneath which was extremely annoying when trying to use the computer on my lap. Additionally, as is expected when packing such high performance software (16G RAM 512 SSD etc.

) into such a small computer, the fans were LOUD. I have replaced the Galaxy Book now with an HP laptop and while you can hear the fans while downloading and such, they are no where near the sound of the Samsung.

For the price point, it is a very fast computer with great specs and a long battery life, but do not expect it to last you more than a year unless you plan to leave it at your desk at all times. When I went to Best Buy to get my HP the sales rep I talked to confirmed for me that the original Galaxy Book Pro was so cheaply made as Samsung was trying to get out a lightweight high power computer as quick as they could.

Please don’t buy this version, I was told that the newer model is so much better, but the price is much higher.

Purchased for my daughter for just day to day school work. I didn’t want a super high priced laptop in a highschool setting, so figured a budget laptop would be the way to go. The laptop has a very nice sleek look, and the sand colour really does look beautiful.

The trackpad is very good and easy to use. I have personally owned some high end laptops in my time, so you can tell they use some lower end materials in the build, but for $499. 99 on sale can’t complain too much.

The battery life could be longer, but yet again it is a budget laptop at the end of the day and the battery is still more than sufficient for casual use. There are ways to lengthen battery life by lowering the screen brightness to around 75 to 80%.

My daughter still easily gets a full day out of it at school. so more than sufficient for what we purchased it for. I do wish the screen was a tad bit better, but images are still clear and crisp and colour is good.

All in all if you go into this purchase with reasonable expectations out of a budget laptop, you will be satisfied with the money spent. I would recommend this laptop for friends for casual day to day use no problem.

Buyer beware. I had a unique situation where I had to contact them to get past the wifi connection set up and so had to call their customer service. After an hour I ended up hanging up on them and was ready to return the laptop because I was having trouble getting past this screen.

They wanted to charge me $200 dollars service fee to tell me how to do this. on my brand new 1 hour old laptop. I hung up and after awhile managed to find the magic button combination to allow me to get the laptop running.

I’m sure the laptop is fine I wanted a cheap windows laptop to use if my desktop PC had an issue I would have that to turn on and connect to the internet to get information or purchase parts. Never seen anything like it to be honest I have tons of techy devices, tablets, xbox’s they all let you connect to the internet.

or not upon set up. not this laptop apparently and its a secret that you must pay them hundreds to help you with if you need to find out how. I would recommend this to a friend for a second emergency device as long as they don’t need to contact lenovo to help them get past their software screen to make the device go.

Bought this to replace my school laptop and play Ark: Survival Evolved. It handles the latter quite well, even on high graphics settings, and for hours on end. Good audio/volume, unlike my last laptop.

The one shortfall is battery life. It can’t handle more than a few hours of YouTube off battery. If I’m gaming and watching YouTube at the same time, I can even get the battery to drop while plugged in.

Although, that might reflect the limitations of my power strip more than the computer/charged. Great for my needs, would buy again. But maybe look elsewhere if you want something that’ll last all day on one charge.

The laptop had no problems. It ran well and had no odd screen glitches or functioning issues after opening and startup. However, if you are sensitive to EMF, you might want to think again about buying this laptop.

As I was typing and using the trackpad, I noticed that my fingers started hurting. It was like a radiating pain that started at my fingertips and moved up my hands. I am right-handed so I switched to using the trackpad w my left hand and after about 30minutes my left fingers became sore with that same odd pain.

I kept going back to my old computer to compare (the pain would instantly go away when I went to my old 2014 laptop) and then back to the Asus alternating my right hand and left hand to make sure it wasn’t all in my head, and I did this for three days of use but the pain continued and I couldn’t take it anymore.

I have a feeling this happened because the trackpad is a screen. The screen is a cool feature, but it most likely emits blue light and therefore emits more EMF than the usual trackpad. So buyer beware if you are sensitive.

I really liked the calculator trackpad feature and even some of the newer Asus laptops display your whole desktop on the trackpad, but too bad the designers don’t think about people who are sensitive to the electro frequencies emitted with all these cool, but unnecessary features.

PROS – good sound. videos I watched sounded so clear. even a low volume gives great projection and high sound quality – clear images on the screen – extremely long battery life – very lightweight – came with cute but professional-looking envelope carrying case – super fast – can charge by USB super cool CONS – trackpad emits EMF, painful to fingers if you are EMF sensitive – pine grey looks black at first (but in the light it’s a blueish grey w metallic shimmer so beautiful) – attracts fingerprints – trackpad is too wide, you accidentally touch it when you don’t mean to – keyboard isn’t centered properly above the trackpad so as you type your thumb will touch it which slows down what you’re trying to do because you have to correct whatever mistake it made persistently.

this is a problem with HP and ASUS keyboards because they shift their keyboards slightly to the left so instead of your left and right thumbs being evenly at the top left and right corners of the trackpad, your left thumb is almost off the trackpad and right thumb is more in the center.

make it make sense. why would they design the computer like that.

I’ve owned this laptop for over a month now and regret the purchase entirely. The only thing keeping me from a 1-star review is that the product does work–as a base laptop it is fine–but I beg beg beg you, if you’re reading this and considering, DO NOT buy a laptop with the screenpad feature.

First, it is too small for any genuine use. I supposed they thought because the main screen is touch-enabled that users could use that when their touchpad is occupied, but in reality it is a massive hassle at all times.

Many times because of the pads jumping back and forth between display screen and mouse pad, it often gets stuck in the one feature you don’t want. Months ago, sick of it’s finickiness, I disabled the touchpad hoping to live with a simple mousepad.

But no. The software is insistent it acts as a screen and often I will turn on my laptop with my main display disabled suddenly, leading to immense frustration as I struggle to adjust using the tiny display.

This portion of the product DOES NOT work smoothly nor as intended and to make matters worse, the software designed to interact with it is straight bad. To conclude, I have nothing against ASUS laptops, but ASUS’ touchpad feature is absolute garbage and will only lead you to hours of never ending frustration.

No other laptop at this price is worth considering. This laptop has a great screen, two in fact. The main OLED screen is high-resolution (4K), BRIGHT and colours are vibrant. The touchpad screen is a fantastic idea and works well in practice.

Fullsize keyboard with number pad is great. As for performance, a laptop as thin and light as this doesn’t usually have as much power as this, with an NVidia 1650ti graphics card. They also didn’t cheap out on the SSD (1TB accelerated with 32GB Optane Memory) which has good performance.

-One downside to OLED technology is the subtle ‘screen door effect’ most noticeable on large areas of white background. I did get used to it pretty quickly, though. -ScreenXpert software for the trackpad screen could do with some more work.

-Would it kill ya to give us more than 2 USB ports? An additional USB-A or USB-C would have been better. -Fingerprint reader would have been the cherry on top, though Windows Hello (facial recognition does work well).

-I had problems with my first unit which bricked itself during a Windows 10 update. New unit seems solid, though folder permissions aren’t set properly, so you end up with errors installing software when it tries to create the normal start menu icons.

Easily fixed with third-party tool, but we shouldn’t have to, right? Overall, I would definitely recommend this laptop, nothing can touch this model at this price-point. I’ve relied on ASUS for my desktop PCs for over 15 years and they’ve always lasted very well.

(I definitely recommend getting the model with the 4K screen. ) Also, you get a free warranty extension of 3 months if you write a review. Sweet!.

PROS: The laptop’s performance for general browsing, multiple streaming and moderate gaming is very good. No lags and very quick to connect to wireless mouse/KB and printer. The backlit keyboard is great to work on for hours together, The trackpad/mousepad has many gestures for easy browsing and accessibility.

CONS: The inability to change the adaptive brightness through settings or the otherwise hidden control panel was one of the most frustrating things I had to encounter while setting up this laptop. I had to go to BIOS (after nearly 8 hours of searching through tons of forums, YouTube videos and dell community discussions) to turn of something called EcoPower and for even to know that such a setting existed.

But why though? Why hide such a basic setting in BIOS? Another issue was accessing Bitlocker. I got a notification during initial setup that I had to disable Bitlocker in order to update BIOS otherwise I would be locked out from the system.

Again, the settings were pathetic with no mention of Bitlocker anywhere. Again after searching for hours on the internet I was able to do all the changes through Command prompt. Now, why even create such a situation where the user could get locked out from their new laptop while setup?? BOTTOMLINE: This is not a good laptop for newbies or non-tech savvy people.

It is good for someone who wants to tweak every little piece of the laptop to their own needs by going to cmd or registry editor or some non-straight forward way.

The laptop comes with excellent performance for the price. The 80 EU Xe igpu is great for some casual games but isn’t good at modern AAA titles (it’s not meant for that anyway). I bought mine with the i5 11320H.

the fans don’t really start going until you start to push it a bit. I suggest getting 16 GB RAM with 256 GB storage. you can upgrade the storage later, or expand it with the sd card slot. It has amazing build quality with great boot up speed.

Some games like Minecraft and Bloons TD will run smoothly at 120 FPS but GPU intensive games like CS:GO and Doom Eternal won’t run at all. The keyboard is great for general use and some very light gaming.

It has two tier backlighting by pressing the F5 button without holding the FN key. Windows 11 is great for most users but there are some bugs, but they’ll get fixed relatively fast. Battery life with battery saver on with brightness at 30 is anywhere from 7.

5 hours to 9 hours with general use (85% battery). 95% battery will give you a solid 9-11 hours (25% brightness). It would get 5 stars if dell gave it a larger battery (most laptops in this category have higher battery life).

The weight is fine and you can even do some light video editing on it (1080p). the fingerprint scanner is solid and is very good. In conclusion, I think Dell has done a great job with this, and it should last for ~4-5 years.

This computer is not only a super-amount more evolved; amazingly, it is like if someone who was using this computer could magically add whatever they already wanted the computer to be like for them, except -IT’S REAL!!! The new way space is manage, everything is beautiful: the files system; the screen; windows and just the system and processes and the way it runs things – itself; and even the touchpad and keys are fancier than I had imagined possible for computers at all -WOW! Windows 11 is like a piece of clothing for this computer: (meaning) it’s like the computer is the perfect size, and so is windows, [not literally the actual (physical) size; but mentionable: the size of everything is also so perfected!] and so this computer is the true model that helps make windows 11 very powerful and executable; and most providing! Also true that of in it’s ability to be so well off.

There is so much more I could make of this piece of greatness showing into opportunity- but; as I’m only at the “surface” (haha. Get the joke?), I think there is still so much more change that I will discover.

See the title for my first impression. I will first say that the first one of these I received kept giving me BSODs (blue screen of death) every day or so in the middle of doing things. It would then restart and seem OK for a day, then it would do it again.

I took it back to Microcenter, and we switched it out for another one, switching the heard drive in the process. After getting the Bitlocker protection to let me into the moved hard drive, everything was OK from there.

No more BSODs. I did a little research with the MyASUS utility on the laptop and it may have been an incompatible video driver. I’ll add here that right after getting the laptop the first time, it upgraded to Windows 11, and win 11 may have added the wrong video driver.

I manually went in and updated the video driver the same night I brought the 2nd one home and haven’t had any BSODs. It’s been a week that I’ve had it with no problems. My recommendation is to immediately go into the Asus utilities and get your video driver updated.

Now that I got that out there, I am quite satisfied with the laptop with the two exceptions below. It boots very quickly, has a nice sized screen without being too wide like a 17″ screen seems to be for me.

The feel of the keys on the keyboard is nice. They’re chicklet style and fairly quiet, but not totally so. It’s backlit, which is nice, even if you’re in a well-lit room. The screen is OLED. That gives it nice, rich colors and deep contrast.

One thing to note, though, is that OLED screens can suffer from screen burn-in if you have a static image There are ONLY two things I don’t care for on it. One is the “new and improved because it’s bigger” touchpad, which gets in the way when typing.

While typing, it’s all too easy for your palm or the base of your thumb to momentarily touch the touchpad and move the insertion point up or down, sometimes into an entirely different paragraph. I can’t completely work around this, but a free utility called Touchpad Blocker helps some.

You can have it turn off the touchpad while you’re typing and have a time delay of like 1. 5 seconds (you pick the interval) before the touchpad becomes active again. It prevents most of these inconveniences, but not all.

The other thing I don’t like is that the number pad is a bit strange, as it’s squeezed horizontally but not vertically, so the relative distances between the numbers and +,-, /, etc. , is strange if you’re used to a standard keyboard.

This, along with the touchpad, could have been better implemented by eliminating the number pad and centering the letter keys over the touchpad, which would make it less likely to bump the touchpad by accident while typing.

The touchpad is offset in relation to the letter keys, making it likely your right palm or thumb will hit the touchpad while typing.

My previous two laptops were both made by Acer and lasted almost 10-years each. ASUS has a good reputation and I was very impressed with the $499 price of this 17. 3″ screen laptop! It arrived in two days and was easy to set up.

I thought I lost a lot of pics and documents on my last computer, but I was surprised to find my items transferred over via the cloud once I clicked on the import bookmarks option on the Microsoft Edge browser! There are a few things that I don’t like, the biggest being the keyboard is not backlit; apparently, it’s an option on the ASUS Vivobook K712E laptops.

If you have the backlit keyboard, there will be a keyboard icon on the F7 function key; if the F7 function key does not have the icon, then the laptop does not have a backlit keyboard. Having read one of the reviews that mentioned the backlit keyboard, I thought it was standard.

I was wrong! The letters, numbers, etc. , are VERY hard to see, especially with the keys, mouse and keyboard cover all being the same, silver color! The letters/numbers on the keys are not painted on, they are translucent and I assume they are so to let the light through on those with the backlight option.

It’s a real disappointment in design! Next, there is no optical drive, but I knew that when I purchased it and know it’s more “the norm” these days than the exception. External optical drives can be had for around $20, so not a deal breaker.

The User Manual provided with the laptop is just a few pages; if you want the full manual, you’ll have to go online to ASUS’s site and download it. Again, not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice to have.

This ASUS K1712EA comes with the Intel i3 processor rated at 3. 3 GHz and one of its two, memory slots filled with 8 GB of RAM, which is expandible up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, but that will add about another $175 if you do the labor, or, about a third of the cost of the computer.

That said, the processor speed and RAM is more than enough for all but those that do gaming. and if you want to have a gaming computer, I would not recommend this model if you want to do the newest of games.

I would recommend you spend a little more for a gaming computer. This laptop is good for work, education and most business functions. The screen displays well, but not on par with the best, however. The speakers are adequate for most tasks and on par with most average laptop speakers; you can always pair a wireless speaker like Sonos if you want better sound.

Battery life isn’t much, but if you’re like me and run your laptop off of the AC adapter 99% of the time, it’s not a big issue. If portability is a major concern, this may not be the best choice. I say this not that there is anything particularly wrong with this particular laptop, but any 17″ screen laptop might be a big clumsy for carrying it around and I would recommend a 14″ or smaller screen if you do a lot of traveling with your laptop (and something with a better battery life).

Not bad for $500!.

Four things that I hate about this computer: (1) The lighted keyboard is useless as it is not bright enough or the lettering on the keys does not conduct the light properly. (2) I have never had a laptop with a silver keyboard and I’d suggest that this is not a color that complements the background lighting and makes it difficult to see what the keyboard key is (for those keys that you use less frequently).

A dark keyboard (black) would provide a greater contrast and enhance the lighted keyboard feature. Tilting the screen forward helps, but it is the wrong direction for viewing as one typically tilts it back slightly.

(3) The mouse touch pad sensitivity is adjustable, but sliding your finger across the touch pad does not work well unless your finger is moist. If it is dry, it just slides across the face of the touch pad without moving the mouse correctly.

If you moisten the tip of your finger it seems to out more drag on your finger and the mouse responds correctly. (4) The battery life is the worst that I have ever had. The sticker on the keyboard says long battery life and that is misleading.

Anything with only 2. 5 to 3. 0 hours is pathetic. My previous Dell Latitude computer was 6+ hours and other computers are even 8-10 hours, so this is definitely at the bottom of the scale. worst of all, it is an internal battery and you can not replace it with one that has an extended life or greater mAh.

(Milliamp Hours) The price for this computer was good and I don’t want to go through the conversion process again, but I greatly regret ever making the purchase, and would not recommend it to anyone.

Asus has other models with a black keyboard and I would strongly recommend one of them and not this one with the silver keyboard. There are other features that I like about this computer though. The larger screen size (17.

3″) was achieved by having a smaller frame and the overall size of the computer was essentially the same as a computer with a 15. 6″ screen.

I bought this Flex 5i a few months ago to use as a personal entertainment & research device. Overall I’ve been really happy with the machine, albeit running into a few nuisances. PROS: *360 degree hinge allows for versatility & leisure.

Very convenient and snazzy. *Touchscreen display is very responsive and feels good to the touch, also is compatible with certain pressure sensitive styluses. *Features USB type C charging (still has an AC charging port for some reason?), a snappy fingerprint sensor, decent enough stereo speakers, a full SD card reader, and a built in camera shutter cover.

*Lenovo’s laptop keyboards will always be the best, and this one is no different. Little flex, good key travel, no key cap wiggle, special media function buttons, and the whole keyboard is backlit. ***THE 15.

6 MODEL HAS A FULL NUMBERPAD, NOT SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. Very good track pad experience as well. *Performance is as expected. The SSD is snappy, the 11th generation I5 crunches data fast, and the 12 gb of RAM have been enough for my multitasking needs so far.

CONS: *The 1920 X 1080 IPS display bleeds amount around all edges, blacks are washed out, has a brightness of 250 nits (bright enough for most occasions but struggles with sunlight and glare). This display is on the lower end of most 1080p IPS panels, but is acceptable given the price point.

I have personally also noticed a stuck pixel go in and out on my display. *The hinge will sometimes droop down at certain angles while holding the laptop in a downward angle. I’ve seen this same thing on other 2-in-ones, maybe it’s just the standard for the style of laptop, but I do wish the hinge was a little bit stronger to support the full weight of the display.

*Does NOT come with a stylus with the product. *Speakers are on the keyboard, not with the display, so when you use the machine in any other mode than laptop, the speakers will fire either totally behind you or in whatever your speakers are laying on.

***PICTURES DO NOT ACCURATELY REPRESENT THE PRODUCT. The model shown has the speaker grills on the side, whereas the actual model I received has one elongated speaker grill above the function keys on the laptop to make room for the full numberpad.

This is not a big deal at all, I still got the product I paid for and appreciate the change in layout, but was just really confused when I first opened it. OTHER INFO: *Battery life lasts me around 4-6 hours with normal use.

*Does come with Windows 11 installed. MY OPINION: Lenovo produces some of the best laptops on the market, and definitely provides a good bang for your buck with this product. Casual users will be thoroughly impressed using this machine with it’s versatility, snappy response time, and plenty of features.

While the machine is not perfect, it is well worth it at it’s price point!.

I’ve been using the Lenovo ideapad Flex 5 for around 6 months. I use it for business, usually running 3-4 different software programs, often in PowerPoint working with images. Compared to my 4-year old Dell XPS, I thought I’d have a much better experience with the Lenovo.

I liked my Dell a lot, but the trackpad became very difficult to use (do they wear out?). On the Dell, it was very difficult to see the arrow on the screen as I tried to move it around, and I often resorted to just touching the touch screen to click buttons or place my cursor where I wanted it.

The Lenovo is better on that score. But it has another nit that I absolutely hate. The clickable are on the trackpad is tiny. You have to click in just the right spot on the very lower left corner to get it to register as a “click.

” If you click and it doesn’t take, which is often, then the editing drop down appears in the middle of the screen, and you have to click out of that, usually by touch, to continue typing. This trackpad situation is almost bad enough to get rid of this laptop and get something else.

I am a pretty fast typist, and it seems when I type quickly, the sticky key window pops up and I can’t proceed until I close the window. Maybe there’s a way to disable this, but doesn’t seem it should do that in the first place.

Also really annoying. As I said, I use PowerPoint a lot. I don’t know if it’s the laptop or what, but working in images is slower than I’d like, and even when using a wireless mouse the response between mouse and laptop is slow.

Maybe a hardware/software issue causing the response delay, but I would think a relatively powerful little PC laptop should be able to handle a wireless mouse (with new battery) without a lag. I do really like the numbers n the keyboard and the keyboard features.

Very intuitive.

I currently use this laptop for some personal home office/college use. I’ll start off with the only two negatives I currently have. I know I chose the 15. 6″ because I use the heck out of a 10-key, but the size makes it pretty heavy in tablet mode, which I also wanted.

Therefore, if you can forgo the 10-key, I would recommend the smaller laptop if you will use tablet mode often. Also, like other reviews have stated, the lip around the edge of the screen is very flat when closed, which kind of makes it difficult to lift to open.

Otherwise, I like everything else about the laptop. I bought it during the March spring sale and I feel you get a lot of bang for your buck. Plus Lenovo also gives additional discounts for First Responders/Teachers/Nurses, etc.

, which is awesome and can be used with other discounts! Set up was very intuitive. Screen quality/pixels are nice and crisp in my opinion. Sound/volume is fine for my needs. I like the track pad. My old laptop didn’t have a track pad with integrated mouse buttons, so that’s nice! Windows 11 is interesting but as usual it’s fairly user-friendly.

So far the 8gb ram is fine and nothing lags, but I don’t do any sort of gaming. I bought the Lenovo Active Pen 2 separately (~$50) and it pairs very easily and works well. The pen also has an erase button which is very nice.

You do have to have your hand off the screen to use properly, which is hard, but easily solved by a bit of fabric under my writing hand. The pen also doesn’t slide as easily as I thought it should. Overall, I would buy the laptop again and would recommend it and Lenovo to anyone.

So I’ve been on the search for a sub $1000 mid-grade gaming laptop at the beginning of 2022 and I can easily narrow this down to be one of the best mid-grade gaming laptops in the market right now! Pros: +3050Ti GPU is a great middle ground GPU without having to spend an extra $400 for a 3060 GPU.

All 30 series GPU’s come with DLSS support with will significantly help with performance that games that support it. +5600H is more than enough for mid-grade gaming with its 6 Core processor. CPU temps are good averaging around 80 C on recent games like Halo Infinite (can be cooler if a cooling pad is used).

+Overall Good Temps: I’ve so far tried a few sessions for over an hour using low/mid setting at 120 Hz and the highest temps I saw reached no higher than 90 C. Not the greatest cooling but never did I felt like the laptop was going to melt after an hour session.

+Lenovo Vantage support: If you’re familiar with Lenovo’s Legion series, all Lenovo laptops come with great software support for drivers and other features like performance/overclocking modes. The IdeaPad however doesn’t come with MUX switch though unlike the Legion series laptops.

Meh: -Windows 11: The IdeaPad 3 come preinstalled with Windows 11 which might be a negative for some. I do question the 4GB ram requirementfor Windows 11 but after using it for a good while, I don’t mind Windows 11 that much and see it more as an upgraded Windows 10.

I personally would’ve preferred Windows 10 but Windows 11 works fine enough. I did finding myself removing a lot more bloatware on Windows 11; some of them requiring a lot of resources for no reason (McAfee being preinstalled? WTF).

– Upgrading your RAM is a MUST! It comes preinstalled with one 8GB stick which took up 6/8 GB of RAM when booting up the first time! I’ve since upgraded to 2x8GB sticks which has since worked miracles and significantly helped with performance.

-Difficult back-cover: Removing the back cover can be somewhat of a challenge if you’re not careful. Screws are easy to find and unscrew but you have to deal with a plethora of stiff clips which can be somewhat difficult to take off if you don’t have a wedging tool.

-Surfaces can smear easily but nothing that a microfiber towel can’t handle. Cons: -Battery life can be desired: The website states up to 8 hours which is completely false! On battery mode on full brightness, I saw at most 3-4 hours from 100% to 5%.

To help with the battery life-span, I’ve turned on conservation mode which only charges it up-to 60%. This is great for the battery life but the trade-off being that battery mode now lasts for only AN HOUR! Not a problem if you’re always plugged in but overall, battery life can be much more desired.

Conclusion: This is I believe one of the best mid-grade gaming laptops for value in early 2022. The biggest pros being its hardware and none of the fluff you see in other gaming laptops (excessive RGB, over-complicated designs, etc).

While battery life is lacking and upgrading RAM is a must, I’ve overall enjoyed my experience with the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3.

A fantastic laptop at a great price point. I got it for $889 with a $100 cashback from American Express which made it more than worth the price. Pros: – The keyboard keys are very nice, large, and legible, a very underrated feature in most laptops.

– Excellent performance for work use. I use this as a work machine, not gaming, and I need a lot of productivity applications (file copying, moving, etc. ) as well as programming needs, and this has worked fantastic for both.

– Upgrade-able RAM and storage. Do keep in mind the second NVME slot is for 3rd gen, not 4th gen. Still, both are very welcome additions. – A thunderbolt port. Yes there is only one, and it’s on the back which is frustrating, but you would be surprised how many 12th gen Intel machines have no thunderbolt port whatsoever.

Cons: – Abmysal battery life. It can last maybe 3 hours at best without charging, regardless of what you’re doing with it. – Awkward touchpad placement (it’s off to the side and you’ll often accidentally move the mouse when typing) – Tough to take apart, make sure you watch a YouTube video or something before trying to take this apart because it’s.

really weird and has a lot of screws and shrouds and it’s very easy to miss one. – Lenovo bloatware. It really makes it difficult to distinguish what programs are necessary and what are just random bloatware programs.

Overall, a good computer at a great price.

After the initial endless wave of startup options my first thought was to load up a music video to test the audio and video quality. It took around 10 second to open Edge, which I thought was odd but ok it the first time so whatever.

Upon clicking on a random video, the entire machine froze up and went into full ‘not responding’ mode, then the screen went black except for the mouse cursor. 30 seconds of this and I forced a hard shutdown.

After half an hour of windows updates on next startup with no issues, I once again went to YouTube and clicked a random video and the exact same thing happened. Computer bricked. I’m not an expert, but I don’t think that’s what’s supposed to happen out of the box.

Maybe I was unlucky and got some scuffed components, but I feel like Lenovo quality control shouldn’t allow these things to happen. It’s thing like this that cause consumers to lose faith in a brand.

I will say that in the 2 minutes that the computer was able to perform it’s tasks it was nice and quiet. Also, the screen has a nice matte finish with good brightness and response rate. The keyboard layout, brightness, and responsiveness are all decent, and the cooling and airflow are excellent and we’ll thought out.

Too bad.

I bought this laptop because I needed one to use for my MBA/Biotech Master’s dual degree program, which required a relatively powerful computer to run some of the programs we need to use. This one checked all the boxes.

No overheating, no “blue screens of death”, and has been quick and given me relatively no problems. The ONLY complaint I can come up with is that my USB-C dock doesn’t work with it, but that’s not entirely uncommon.

I wouldn’t use this as a gaming computer as it doesn’t have quite the specs for that, but it is perfect for my business and school needs. SO glad I found ASUS for a reliable laptop because I’m in a situation where I would be in big trouble if my computer didn’t work.

A really good laptop, it’s lightweight and very fast. It has a ton of storage so I can run more intensive programs without sacrificing a ton of space (but lets be honest I care most about playing Skyrim).

The keyboard as a nice feel to it, which is a weird hangup I have with laptops. It also has a number pad on the right hand side which is great. The display is amazing. It is very bright and has really crisp colors, I love watching netflix on it.

The one thing I don’t really love is that the speakers aren’t super powerful, imo, but that’s not a huge issue since I can just use a bluetooth speaker to augment it or use my headphones. ASUS is a reliable brand and my previous laptop was an ASUS as well.

They last for a good long while before they start to limp, and they limp for a good long while before they start to crawl. Take care of them and they’ll take care of you. I expect this laptop to be around for several years before I even have to start pondering whether or not to replace it, and several more before I expect to actually feel the need to follow through.

This laptop had trouble from the beginning. It wouldn’t work if the laptop was plugged into the power cord. This occurred immediately after removing it from the packaging. Contacted ASUS for support and they couldn’t get it to work either.

I seriously question that this laptop was brand new, I believe it was refurbished. The description does not state it was refurbished but after the immediate issues, I seriously question that it was brand new.

After speaking with Walmart’s Resolution Center, they couldn’t even reach the 3rd party seller, JB Rapid LLC for questions or clarifications. I suggest buying straight from the store and not online from this seller.

I had sworn off Windows machines having bought a cheap Lenovo computer that was so slow to boot it was essentially useless. Like 20 minutes. I added more memory (cost as much as the computer) and still terrible.

So I bought an old MacBook along with my iMAC and swore off Windows. I recycled the old one. I got a job with DoD that requires a Windows-based machine. They will eventually give me one, but I wanted to start right away.

Thus this computer which I needed right now. A pleasant surprise. It boots pretty darn fast. It has Win11 and with the solid state drives really seems to just work. Apple-like. And hats off to Sam’s because I ordered it in the afternoon and they brought to to my car at 7am the next day.

The downside: I’m not crazy about the silver keyboard with black letters. When backlite it is white on silver and I can’t see them. I am a touch typist so no big problem. If you are hunt and peck. I don’t know.

Let me start with saying I have used HP Products for over 15 years. I bought this to upgrade from the HP Pavilion that is about 8 years old. This new product is so cheaply made, I am returning after less than 24 hours.

The surrounding area of the keyboard is almost loose and sagging. I realize there is no disc drive, and therefore hollow space under the keyboard, but there is no excuse for the sag and the feeling of cheap, emptiness.

Secondly, the audio is lacking the richness that the previous model has. I can speak to this as I had both machines sitting next to each other Highly disappointed, and returning. If I could give zero stars, I would.

So far, so good. Boots up quickly, the backlit keyboard is easy to see without being too bright, and the touchpad can be deactivated automatically whenever a mouse is plugged in. I love the 17-inch screen, although I miss having a touchscreen.

But for the price, it was an okay sacrifice. I was also pleased that it has an ethernet port for a hardwired connection. that’s getting hard to find these days. Makes for much faster uploading/downloading.

The only 2 issues I’ve had are: one day, I unplugged to go sit outside and had no internet connection. When I went to check the wi-fi setup, it did not show that there was any wi-fi adapter in the machine.

It just wasn’t an option. I knew there was, as I’d used it wirelessly before. I had my husband look and found the same thing. I ended up rebooting, and then it showed up, no problem. Weird that this would happen randomly.

The other issue is that there is either an issue with the charging port itself or the charger. When I plug it in, it doesn’t start charging unless I play with spinning it. It has to bet setting in there just right.

The slightest shifting of the computer, and it can stop charging, and I don’t always notice it. It’s pretty annoying. It’s been this way right out of the box. I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks. I really would rather have bought any other brand of computer besides HP.

My last 2 HP computers were a nightmare. One had 5 new hard drives in as many months, starting with less than 30 days out of the box. It spent more time in transit than working. It was being used for homeschooling, and I lost my files every time.

Horrible customer service. There was clearly some other underlying issue that kept causing the hard drive to fail. It would literally fail the day it came back in the mail. I finally gave up and wrote it off as a loss and went with Dell.

Shortly thereafter, my other HP had the same thing happen. I swore I’d never buy another HP, but when the Dell finally died, I realized prices had soared due to the chip shortage, and I just didn’t have a choice.

HP was the most affordable for the features I needed. I got this one because of the 2 year Care Pack coverage included at Sam’s Club.

I marked off 1 egg because this isn’t perfect and almost nothing is absolutely perfect. I have no complaints with newegg or Asus at this time. Though I have only had the laptop for a few weeks. I am trying to give this laptop an honest and thorough review because I was almost discouraged when I did my research into certain things surrounding Asus laptops.

I don’t want that to happen to others and I also want to show a review because there were non on this model here on newegg before I bought this. I started looking for a new laptop when my 8+ year old thinkpad, with gen 1 I7 processor started running at 90c base with roughly 40% cpu usage with only chrome (on home screen) and itunes open.

Some web pages in chrome would pull 100% utilization at times. So, I started to do my research. I read a couple of recent reviews on this computer (dated early November) and decided to take a chance.

My main gaming computer is a desktop with a ryzen 9 5900x and rtx 3070 graphics card, so I don’t need a high end gaming laptop. I wanted a laptop that could do reasonable gaming, 3 usb connectors (type a), decent screen and decent hard drive for this price range.

I decided to go with the amd ryzen version for the base clock speed 3. 2ghz without the need for overclocking and temp management. I dislike the fact that Intel seems to force you to overclock if you want any kind of reasonable speeds and I also heard the 10 and 11 series Intel chips run hot.

I also heard there wasn’t much of a difference between gen 10 and gen 11 on Intel. As said above, temps on this laptop run fine. The keyboard area doesn’t get hot to the touch at all. I wish the 3050 laptop graphics were stronger, but went with this for possible slightly more longevity in the graphics on the 3050 than integrated.

Keep in mind there is apparently no expandability with the ram, so make sure you get a 16gig model at minimum. That is what I did and I am fine with that because as long as everything goes well, I won’t need to upgrade the ram before having to replace the laptop.

Everyone has certain specs they consider must have, the problem with them is that you have to consider price and the fact that the laptop market is all over the place. At time of writing this review, the price difference between 8gig ram and 16gig ram with similar specs seem to be 300+.

Higher resolution screen (2k) 600 more easy, integrated graphics vs 3050, same price. Better 3070 graphics easy 1k more. Overall, if you are looking for the best possible specs for this price range and some kind of middle ground in the current market, This laptop should be on your limited list for consideration and worth a chance.

It took me awhile to appreciate this laptop. I was about to return it because of the battery life and low ram but I will keep it now since those are easy to upgrade :D. I use this laptop for my school and home.

This laptop needs to always be plugged in. Due to the high resolution oled screen, lit keyboard, mx350 gpu, and i7 processor, it uses a lot of battery. Quite frankly, it comes with a measly 46watts-hour battery.

I wish there was a way to upgrade the battery pack or get a extended battery supply for this model. (I’m sure there is) It can play league of legends and valorant on max settings in performance mode.

I was surprised that it was able to run it. While in balance mode it is a little choppy when running those game. When I user bench marked this laptop it came to be as follow: Gaming : 25 % iris xe graphics Desktop: 97 % i71165g7 Workstation: 27% To be honest the Gaming should be at least 45% as this laptop has two gpu that works together.

When testing the mx350 gpu it was at 20%. If you see this laptop on sale again, I would definitely grab it. I got it for $750. 00 us dollars. Also I’m sure a lot of people are returning this because of the battery life and ram (easy fix).

Once again If you see this on sale I would grab it. The mx350 combo with iris xe graphics is amazing. It keeps the laptop thin, and you wont have heat issue 3050, 3060, 3070, 3080 will generate. Once again newegg should hire me.

Overall this laptop is for those who have a gaming desktop already and is looking for something powerful and can handle minimal gaming (mainly export games).

I needed a budget laptop to use for my technical training program. Buying this ASUS VivoBook turned out to be a great decision. For just over $400 after tax, this laptop delivers good performance for its cheap price.

While the dual-core AMD Ryzen 3 CPU is not optimized for gaming, it was able to handle Minecraft just fine with some quick in-game adjustments. Keep in mind, this laptop is NOT designed to be a gaming laptop.

It’s built to be able to perform basic tasks such as web browsing and document creation efficiently, and it has so far checked all the boxes. The 256GB SSD is quick and allows for a fair amount of the storage, and the 8GB RAM is enough to keep the device running smoothly.

My only real complaint is the picture quality from the screen. While the display is 1920x1080p, it almost looks like you’re looking through a haze. While there are options within the ASUS software for coloration, it doesn’t help much.

It’s not too bad, but definitely noticeable if you’re used to looking at high quality computer monitors, which I am since I have a desktop gaming pc. Other than that, the build quality is acceptable for the price.

They keyboard is soft but not spongy, and the materials used are good enough. While certainly not the best or fastest laptop on the market, for the price of $379. 00, This laptop is great value, and I would highly recommend it for anyone who is in need of a cheap computer for work or if looking to buy someone their first computer.

I would give it zero if that was an option. I bought it for a class that required a specific video card. It worked long enough for me to load the software, get to the class, start it up, and then it failed loudly as the instructor started the class.

By loudly I mean, the screen went blank, everything froze and there were audible commands to slide something but there is no slider on this computer. (The audio also did not make sense because of whatever was failing.

) It finally shut up so we could start the class and I had to use another computer at the facility. Basically, after that, I would get the Lenovo screen, and then things would go black afterward. And, if you return it, BB will act like you have spilled something on your computer if this happens to you so even returning it is a pain.

Anything will be construed as evidence of a spill so there is that too. I almost got stuck paying hundreds of dollars for a dead computer with a manufacturing problem. And this is the first time anything like this has happened to me.

Upgraded to this from my Ideapad 320 that I bought back in 2015 and installed 16gb of additional RAM plus an SSD in place of the installed HDD. It is excellent for running games especially simulations, huge improvement in the screen not just the colors but also the refresh rate.

Startup is astonishingly quicker even with fast startup disabled. I did upgrade it to 32gb of RAM as the stock 8 was not enough for my use case. It’s my first gaming laptop and so I wasn’t expecting the fans to be this loud but given the performance it is very reasonable and that’s a welcome tradeoff for the stress I put it through.

On passive mode it is silent, can’t hear a thing. I’m surprised that it’s on offer for such little money given it has the 3060 installed. Very pleased with it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade from even a laptop that’s 2 years old.

I won’t get into details of performance since I’ve done no testing. The laptop has performed exceptionally well for me though with light gaming, browsing, photo editing, and video streaming. I added a 1TB SSD that was easy to install.

The price of the laptop was worth buying and upgrading with the 250gb it came with. One flaw I’ve found. I took the laptop on a vacation with me. Packed it into a nice laptop backpack. I did not abuse the backpack, sit on it, throw it, etc.

When I got home I noticed some wear on the brim above the touchpad. Looking closer at the screen there’s slight scratches on it where it was hitting that brim. It’s not very noticeable, but is annoying.

I will need to find some sort of protective screen cover to sandwich in the laptop when I pack it away and travel with it.

I bought a previous version of a Yoga laptop and I can easily say that it is the worst laptop I’ve ever owned. I replaced a laptop that I had owned for 10 years and that laptop was better than the $2000 dollar yoga that I got.

I am an engineer and I have always heard great things from colleagues about Lenovo thinkpad machines. I was drawn by the yoga because it had similar stats to thinkpad, but was more portable. I wanted something that I could do basic simulation and coding on, but I liked the idea of something a bit slimmer.

The problems with this laptop are endless. It overheats easily, even when I’m not doing anything that should be intensive for it (browsing the internet on a non-chrome browser), usb drives never work even though drivers are updated and I double checked the connection, even typing this review is lagging by a few words.

I wouldn’t buy this again for casual or professional use. It constantly shuts down and the wifi card is malfunctioning. I constantly have to restart it to get it connect to the wifi. I’ve asked the best computer guys(people) in my lab to help me get it running better and no one has had any luck.

I’m a grad student and I wish I could have known how bad this would be, because its super cost-prohibitive for me to throw this away and give lenovo another chance by getting a thinkpad, but since I don’t, this pretty much determined that I will never purchase another lenovo machine.

If you want a laptop that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out just to open a browser, don’t get a yoga. It’s just incredible to me that a laptop I purchased in 2010 runs better than this garbage excuse for a computing machine.

This review is for the Lenovo 9i 14″ in Mica (Yoga 9 14ITL5). I purchased the base model (Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GM storage). I spent weeks researching and trying out laptops in store, and this one ticked off all my boxes.

It is a snappy and beautifully designed 2-in-1 with a luxurious look and feel. The keyboard is a dream to type on, the track pad is responsive without going overboard, the graphics are crisp and clear, and the sound bar is truly the best I’ve ever heard on a laptop.

All in all, this is a beautifully designed machine, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. if it worked consistently. The first one I purchased presented with screen glitches within the first two weeks: randomly freezing up, going black, not responding to hard powering off and on.

I spent hours on the phone with Lenovo Premium Care wiping the machine and reinstalling drivers. Lenovo went so far as to send a technician out to my home to replace the motherboard. The issues persisted.

I liked the Yoga 9i so much that I returned my first one and bought another, thinking that perhaps I just got a lemon. Within a month of receiving my second 9i, I am having the same issues with the screen going completely black at random, even while doing simple tasks like web browsing or viewing photos.

Sometimes a hard restart will bring the screen back, and other times it won’t. This last time the screen was unresponsive for 12 hours before it sprang back to life again. Upon reading reviews, others appear to be having similar issues.

Regrettably, I will be returning this machine for the second and last time. If you are lucky enough to get one that doesn’t have these problems, it is a truly fantastic little laptop.

I dread buying a replacement laptop, the software and files to transfer etc; but (I learned to use an external harddrive to simplify transferring files & folders) just had to replace my 2014 Toshiba laptop.

Lenovo brand was recommended by relative, so Lenovo seemed like my best option. I require the numeric keypad on the keyboard, the ideapad i5 came with this feature! I need a compact laptop – in the 15-16 inch range and the ideapad i5 was spot on at 15 inch! Security of 64 bit Windows also needed – ideapad i5 came with Windows 11 Home 64! Unfortunately Lenovo has some arrangement with McAfee and pre-installed that on laptop WHICH I HAD TO REMOVE right away so that I could install my TREND MICROS Security Program.

McAfee is a real PITA to get fully removed! Ideapad i5 display is nice and I was able to increase brightness to a satisfactory level. However, when running on battery the display gets dim and unable to increase brightness.

Guess it is fine so long as I have it plugged in when using it. I like the fingerprint id option – it takes a few minutes to set up and I am liking it. I like the shutter over camera lens – no more need for duct tape to cover it.

I rarely use a camera on my laptop. Storage on the ideapad i5 is fine for me, I keep very little on the computer and really prefer using my external harddrive. Price of the ideapad i5 was reasonable.

It is a stylish machine. But Lenovo sure does up the price a lot with optional extended warranties, on site repairs, damage insurance, battery replacement, etc Yes I paid the price for these add-ons.

This increased the price a lot, but never having had a Lenovo brand before I am not sure what to expect for it and needed to add the extra protection. Once I saw that the only way the display could be bright enough for me to use was to have it connected to a power source, I regret getting the battery replacement option since I will never run this on battery power.

I use my usb wireless mouse instead of the touch pad – it works fine. I do wish there were more usb ports though. I am using 1 for mouse and 1 for external harddrive. Touchscreen is great. I have touchscreen on old laptop and on desktop, I like this feature a lot, and if I use someone elses laptop they ask me why I am tapping their screen(they dont have touchscreen).

Although the ideapad i5 ended up costing a lot because of the add-on items, I am pleased with the machine.

Ok, this Lenovo Laptop needs another review. Bought this at the sale price which was a great deal. Internally, the AMD Ryzen 5 5500u chip is a great processor with 6 cores of power. Matched with the 12GB Ram there’s plenty of power for 95% of shoppers.

Great 1080p screen, super fast access with fingerprint reader with the 256GB SSD drive. It’s not super light, but at 4. 8 lbs is about average for this size. The keyboard is very nice and easy to type on, but not backlit.

This runs cooler due to the processor and physical size and air flow design from Lenovo. I have a 15 inch Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with the AMD Ryzen 3 chip also very quick that is nice, but this 17 inch with AMD Ryzen 5 is faster, cooler and outperforms it, plus has great battery power life.

With Windows 11 (Home) version installed without the Safe Mode on you don’t have to unlock it to download software which is not on Microsoft’s approved apps only list. Is this a top model? No, but with a lot of choices around, this is one of the better ones at a cost-conscious price that will get the job done for most of us.

Its been about 3 weeks now with my i9 p53 and I am loving it as a advanced high school engineering student. I completely chews up anything I throw at it in any cad software to the point I can run any (400 part, 17 frame time (aka 60 fps)) assembly, as a member of a robotics team it insanely helps my workflow being able to do cad work with the team instead of relaying on my desktop at home.

Also it is great for my small photography/video businesses letting me go through 4k footage in class like butter. the keyboard is very nice for essay typing and the number pad is a very nice addition a lot of laptops skimp out on (for cad and excel).

Also the weight/size does not effect me a much as I though, yeah at first it seems meh but you get used to it like its nothing (also one less important thing: the rtx card in a laptop is amazing the new architecture is much more optimized for thermals and it is a quadro anyways so rendering is nothing to it).

The track point is great too. But it is filled with problems, some small but they really add up and make the experience painful sometimes. First off the video card gets locked back to its low power mode of some kind locked to 300 mhz for no reason not fully off as it is when nothing is running off of it just locked to 300 mhz, This happens after 30 min to a hour of the pc being on, only way to fix is restart the pc or manual turn off and on the card (reloading drivers does not work (also driver version does not matter ive tried lots)).

There is a flex in the chaise that does not let the laptop sit flat on all four feet (very very annoying because it slams back and forth as typing), with losing of the screws it can be reformed by weighing it an and re-tightened but after being in a my bag (with a mostly hard case) it will go back to its flex position, also it goes naturally back into its flexed position after a day of being used.

Also the gpu coil wind is very very load, like my desktop quadro makes 3 times less noise with a open case, I feel as if this is just bad luck but it is very annoying in class whenever I do something in cad or anything that will stress the gpu it makes its screaming noise.

Most application do not notice the gpu without running the computer in only gpu mode and then restarting back into hybrid. I have attempted to contact lenovo about these issues but it always ends up at the return in for free repair (I can not currently do that due to dependence on having a working laptop for school) Performance, throttling, and battery (I9 model) NOTE: ALL DATA IS ON POWER SUPPLY, NOT BATTERY (battery performance is near same just of course less watts for the computer to use so sometimes it gets limited a tiny tiny bit) The Performance of the gpu is at max boosted no matter what I throw at it (even renders) and the rtx quadro is very very optimized for tasks like cad.

The CPU has max boosted it can 4. 8 ghz on one-four core when maxed out but its the thermal wall within seconds even before the fans can even spin up) with fans on max and all cores being hit by a render it will clock down to 3.

4 ghz, that may seem bad but remember that is 8 cores at 3. 4 not 2 or 4(in a freaking laptop). I feel like fans could have been a lot speeded up (like I dont care about noise when I am wanting it to really work).

Now remember that almost all rendering workloads now are on gpu so the cpu will be a lot less stressed and be able to run at 3. 8 ghz on all 8 cores (for blender example). Now I got very lucky and was able to under-volt the cpu by 170 mv and still be very stable, giving the cpu less heat output in turn letting me get to 4 ghz with maxed out all 8 cores, very happy about that).

The Battery will last 10 hour in very low power mode doing essay writing (chrome and word / acrobat), when under full work load it can last 1-2 hours. normal cad workload on mid power mode I can get 3-4 hours out of it.

In the end I love the laptop for cad and other workload type stuff. Even through its flaws (maybe not the gpu one) I would take it over any other laptop on the market right now.

I’m a computer science undergrad student and recently got an internship working on the Linux kernel, bought this as a present to myself and as a needed upgrade from my old MBP Retina 13″ running an i5.

This thing is a beast! It truly is a “mobile workstation”; it actually performs significantly better than my desktop (currently running i7 7700k) for compiling/working/coding. First thing I did was put Linux on it (Gentoo) and it can compile for days! Kernel and package compilations are quick and easy.

I love having the freedom to modify and replace the parts. This laptpo is truly powerful and I’m loving it. My only concern with this laptop is the temps; even with powersave settings in BIOS + security disabled + Intel psave the laptop reaches temps of 95C+ while compiling.

During standard use it runs just fine, smooth as butter, no temp issues. Only while compiling do the temps get really high, even when I’m not using all of the cores. Many others have said this as well; don’t doubt that this thing gets hot! It packs a lot of power in a small frame, plus we all know Intel runs hot.

I hope temps aren’t an issue in the long run– it is concerning seeing the temp at 100C while I’m compiling for an hour. I would like to open it up eventually and repaste the CPU + apply a thermal pad.

Haven’t really used the Nvidia card as I don’t really have a use for it so can’t say much there. I believe the Optimus config for this laptop only works using the iGPU as primary with offloading to the Nvidia card; meaning you manually run programs with Optimus parameters if you want to use them under the Nvidia card.

For those that are interested in running Linux on this bad boy: do it, you’ll love it. Everything works flawlessly (webcam, fingerprint reader, trackpad, SD reader, ethernet, USB C + A ports) so no need to worry.

Depending on the distro you might need to do some playing around but do know that everything can be functional. TL;DR this machine can compile for days, high temps under heavy workloads, a real mobile workstation experience.

I bought this laptop from Lenovo a bit over a year now and unfortunately, it’s been nothing but trouble. I’ve had 3 service repairs and tried to live with other annoying quality issues. 1) Motherboard had to be replaced due to issues with sound and fans overworking.

Because there is so much power packed into this little PC, my on-site support as part of premier support still resulted in a day of the technician trying to replace it and ultimately having to send the thing off-site.

2) The power supply plug’s tip broke off inside the PC – technician was able to extract it, repair the PC and replace the power supply 3) In process – constant blue screens relating to the video cards.

This is still unresolved and I can tell you not related to firmware versions (up to date), or any weird 3rd party software – the PCs not been stable enough to install or run any sophisticated software (which is why we bought it in the first place) 4) Video card incompatibility with some games (OK, not the main reason we bought it, but hey, if I want to let the kids run Minecraft on it, it doesn’t seem too much to ask).
