20 Best Knife To Cut Chicken Breast (2023 Updated)

This isn’t the exact knife I bought but same series and same brand. We eventually want a set. They are amazingly sharp knives that are well made and beautiful. I would buy them 100x over. You can’t go wrong with these amazing knives.

I purchased a new block just to show them off!.

Great movie with lots of action and I LOVED the monsters. The monsters were ugly and very agressive and evolved into new creepy looking monsters so you constantly had new types of threats to defend against.

The worlds defenders to used against these massive alien monsters were the Jaegers -giant robots ran by teams of personnel who had to meld their minds to think as one to control the Jargers during combat.

The movie had a great backstory and kept you watching to see what kind of new monster battle would erupt and if earth might. just might survive this alien invasion.

This knife is fantastic. I had all these knives in a block and was just over it. I got this and threw out everything except a bread knife and one serrated knife. I use this for everything and it’s great.

The 6″ Victorinox Rosewood was my first experience with Victorinox knives. I was so delighted with this product, that I immediately bought another to “gift” to our daughter. This knife is VERY sharp and very nimble.

The rosewood handle is exceptionally “warm” to the touch. The overall balance lends itself to the feel of being very light weight and agile. The absence of a bolster, allows for sharpening the full length of the blade.

Blade thickness is quite thin,,, which greatly reduces “wedging in the cut”, so it’s a joy to use for such tasks as dicing onions. This is my “do-it-all” knife that I keep handy at all times, and don’t want to be bringing out my larger 8″ and 10″ Zwilling Professionals or my big Wusthofs.

It’s also ideal as a shorter carving knife when making sandwiches, etc. Unlike many utility knives of this length (and shorter), this 6″ Rosewood features a full-sized handle vs the much thinner handle found on many petty knives which are in the 5″ and under category.

Maintaining the edge is a breeze. A couple of quick swipes with a ceramic honing rod is all it takes to bring this edge to exceptional sharpness. At 55-56 on the Rockwell scale, these blades won’t retain an edge as well as the harder 58-60 blades,,, but that’s fine.

You also don’t have the brittleness and possibility of chipping that you see on some of the super-hard blades, and those knives can be a pain to restore an edge, especially for inexperienced users. I wash my knife blades separately, immediately after every use, with warm soapy water,,, then dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth,(keep the Rosewood handle dry while washing).

To protect the blade, I simply store the knife in the plastic sleeve that it came in, Do a little research to see what kind of steel is used by Victorinox, and I think you may be pleasantly surprised to see that these are not your “cookie-cutter stamped stainless-steel” throwaway blades.

The ultra-fine carbon steel particles, as well as eveness of particle grain distribution, lends itself particularly well to attaining a very sharp edge. These Swiss-made knives use German steel,, forged at 1050 degrees, and Victorinox has been around for over 130 years.

I was a butcher for 30yrs in Melbourne and I had two knife brands I kept returning to. One was Victorinox and the other was Swibo. I always had a preference for wooden handles and as Swibo stopped using them Victorinox became my No.

1. To find they still have wooden handles and a great quality feel about them is great. The price is amazing for the quality too!.

Great knife. I’ve had the same fibrox blade in plastic for 25 years and this was a nice refresh with a small upgrade. Good price, highly recommend. There’s no need to go with super expensive chefs knives when the quality is this great at this price.

The knives that come in this 3-piece chef set with blades covers look very impressive in the package. They are heavy in weight in the package so I was concerned they’d be heavy in my hand while using.

That concern was lifted once I opened up the package and took one of the knives into my hand. The handle is solid and I feel confident that it won’t slip while I am chopping or slicing. I like the serrated knife for cutting tomatoes and crusty bread! The smaller knife is great for cutting up veggies and small fruit.

It is always best to hand wash cutlery and dry immediately so I haven’t been able to test these in the dishwasher. It’s nice to know that they are dishwasher safe though. I recommend this knife set which is reasonably priced.

Bought this for my other half who does the cooking in our house. It was his 4th Scanpan knife & he uses them every day in preference to any others in his collection. He even asked for one for Christmas!.

Well packaged i.e. good presentation. Quality materials. Great warranty. Reputable company. Just the right size. Would have liked the knife it to be more flexible for filleting.

Super sharp out of the box, nice weight to the knife. After a few uses, finding it’s not keeping its initial sharpness, however I’m not up to scratch with knife sharpening, and am hesitant to sharpen it, so maybe it’s just me?.

Not a bad knife for the price. This will be my 6th Shun Premier as I slowly build out my collection. Great knives but this used one had scratches right on the shaft where I use my pinch grip which just distracts a bit from my process.

The whole point of knives like this are to blend in seamless. An unfortunate wear and tear along with a small chip in the edge. Had these been documented, I’d have no gripe–but I also probably wouldnt have purchased.

I also totally recognize, that this is the roll of the dice you play with used gear. Just bummed this knife play out this way as it’s my go to knife style. Oh well, now all I need is the Shun Premier Nakiri and I’ll finish out my set.

This is our first Shun knife and we are very impressed with the quality control and the overall quality of the product. Out of the box it is sharp enough to slice through a regular sheet of paper with minimal pressure, the blade needed no extra honing what so ever.

As the blade is sharpened very thin, this knife must be used with a slicing motion rather than chopping, that is how many other inexperienced users reported chipped blades. Overall we have had this knife for over a month of weekly usage and it has outperformed many other similar knives we have from competitors.

Precise and the perfect size and shape I needed for work. I debone, and cut fish multiple times a day, every shift. Extremely comfortable and glides beautifully through the meat. Would highly recommend!.

Typical of Shun knives. Very sharp. perfectly shaped handle. Design is a bit different than most Western knives of this type, but very easy to get used to. Preforms tasks presented with little effort.

I’m rarely disappointed with any of the knives from this brand.

I should probably wait till I’ve used it for a month or so, but this knife is just too good a deal not to rave about it. I’ve had it now for all of 20 minutes. I tested it on bread; I tested it on leftover chuck roast.

I even tested it on my finger (I just touched the blade to get a sense of how sharp it was and with almost no pressure I’m now wearing a bandaid). I know it says “Bread Knife” but this thing sliced through that cold roast beef like it was butter.

The slices looked almost like I went through them in a single slice: smooth with only very, very light striations. And bread? Like it was born to cut bread (which it was). Of course for anyone who has to slice meats, breads and other (boneless) things, its also about the handle.

I have medium large hands. The handle was perfect. I can imagine doing a lot of cutting with this without fatigue or driving my nails into my palm. Given its shape I think it will be comfortable for all but the very smallest hands.

It also did not slide around. I ran it under water and then took a slice of my roast beef. No slippage. Yes, I could feel the water but the knife did not slide or slip in my hand against the resistance of the chuck roast.

Now the really amazing part: This thing is dirt cheap. I paid less than $15. 00 for mine, including shipping. List price is around $22. 00. I’m sure there are better knives out there but nothing comes close within a couple hundred dollars (I’ve checked).

This is not just for the budget conscious, this is one great knife.

I bought the 12 inch wavy edge knife to cut bread in Bread slicer guide. My old knife wasnt long enough to cut the bread in the guide. So I ended up with odd shaped bread and bits and pieces. I used this knife yesterday for the first time and I sliced the whole loaf like a professional slicing machine.

All the slices were perfect. This knife is amazing and no pressure to use. Even for my arthritic hands and shoulder. I would recommend this knife for cutting bread. I havent used it for anything else, so I cant comment on its use for other food.

I bought a beautiful ikon creme knife set but the block the gave me is hideous. I don’t mind natural variety in wood but parts of it look like it came from different types of trees. I asked to exchange it for another color and provided photos of what was advertised versus what i received and they refused to do an exchange, and also said they couldn’t see a difference between the ad photos and what i received.

I wish i could add photos but am unable to here for some reason. I paid $800 bucks and they wouldn’t exchange it even though it was still wrapped and they had the other block color available on the website.

I think they have a lifetime guarantee on the knives but they dgaf if you are happy with the whole product. Will send this particular purchase right back where it came from.

The chefs knife on its own is a good knife for small hands, it’s well balanced and stays sharp. But it’s no replacement for the fully forged version. It doesn’t have the weight or control. Regarding the paring knife, it’s a lightweight knife and too small for my hands (I’m 6’5, big hands).

It feels like a small steak knife. Does stay sharp though. The sharpener drags the score down. Its taken chunks out of some of my knives with the honing side. The sharpening side works ok, but if you are buying for the sharpener I’d avoid.

Good value overall on deal for approx $130 at Myer. I’d not buy at full price.

This is the third knife (identical?) I have purchased. The first was many, many years ago and I LOVED using it for several years. Unfortunately, I dropped it on the tile floor and the blade cracked in half.

I ordered a replacement knife and was disappointed with the quality, it was not the same. Furthermore, I weighed it on my kitchen scale, and it was lighter than the original (I had saved the two broken pieces and weighed them).

I have been using it now for a few years but it is not the same, and I can always feel the difference. Before the holiday season last year my niece was over for dinner and she helped me with food prep.

She used the knife and commented how much she liked it. I held that thought and ordered her one as a gift. Lo and behold, the quality again had dipped. The handle was shorter and it felt very awkward in my hand.

I still hoped she would enjoy it, but I never heard a word about it. I think if she really liked it I would have heard something. I am disappointed and will not buy another knife without seeing and holding it in person.

We’ve had a Henckels knife set in the large block for years. Our COVID lockdown and all the resultant cooking motivated me to look to see what else was out there. Not like I really needed another knife, right? But this prep knife caught my eye and I bought it.

I was a little anxious about the smaller handle (same size as the paring knives) but that has turned out to be really perfect. I do a lot of mincing with a knife and the smaller handle provides just the right amount of clearance between your fingers and the cutting board when you’re doing a rocking mince.

Perfect! The other plus is the super thin blade. It’s great for slicing. Still use all our other Henckels, but now we have another choice when we approach the knife block. Get one!.

Strong, light weight, beautiful steel! I appreciate the steel I use when outdoors. After having a perfect fillet knife for over 33 years, I left my fillet knife outdoors, way up in the mountains, lost forever.

Being learned in steel and cooking, isn’t that a primal male instinct? LOL. I have a backup of course. A twenty dollar wonder that gets the job done, but always searching for the perfect marriage of steel and human functionality.

This is a decent knife. You can get them for sub $10 if you shop around carefully. The stainless holds a decent edge. The best knife I ever used had a high carbon steel blade that would rust over fast if you did not oil it but had am amazing edge.

This is not that sharp. Also it is a lot taller than I would prefer it being. It looks impressive but is a bit hard to control. Overall a pretty good value.

Good quality, takes a good edge and at a great price can’t do much better for a good all around kitchen knife. It does have its cons though, the weight takes some getting used to, this is no lightweight, good for chopping but finer work takes some patience.

Gets dull relatively quick, not a problem if you touch up your knives every now and then but still a consideration. Mine arrived with a small crack in the handle but a little epoxy fixed it and ive had no problems since.

Overall its a pleasure to use, definitely recommend.

This was a shockingly pleasant surprise when we pulled it out. It was brought in for a newbie cook to round out his first knife roll. He felt he needed a cleaver, i didn’t think he would use one so we snagged him this.

It wound up being his favorite of the bunch. And I don’t blame him. The weight on this thing is great! The wooden handle felt better in my hand than some of my knives and it came plenty sharp. While it does not hold an edge well the thing is a breeze to kept sharp.

you will just be honing a little more often. I was kinda sad to see this one walk out the door with him when he left.

I have small hands and I LOVE Rada knives. This one is very small and I was surprised when I opened the box but I actually really like it. Easy to use and my hand doesn’t get tired doing a lot of chopping as it always did with normalknives.

Definitely get the sharpener and sharpen every time. My kids call it “mom’s magic knife” because it’s so sharp I can cut through things midair without using a cutting board or risking my fingers. Better than cutco for a fraction of the price.

I bought a knife from this grouping at a craft show and after using it I wished I had bought all of them. This knife is made in the USA! I have cut every food imaginable and have not been disappointed.

Itcuts paper thin slices very smooth all the way to thick chopping of chunks of meat for stew. I wish I’d discovered these knives long ago. The price is shockingly low considering some are in the hundreds of dollars range.

Also don’t be fooled by the light weight of these knives.

I absolutely LOVE Rada cutlery. I have several pieces and they have all been my favorite knife. I bought this as a duplicate because I use it them so often that there is always a dirty one in the dishwasher (yes, I know putting cutlery in the dishwasher is a mortal sin, but I’ve been doing it with my Rada knives for over 10 plus years and they are still as good as new.

) I also have their sharpener device and it works so well and is easy to use – just lightly drag your knife through it a few times every few uses and it keeps a wonderful, perfect edge on the blades.

I’ve been a meat cutter for the past 21 years and have always used Fibrox smooth edge knives. Decided to try out this granton edge and it has become one of my favorite knives! Culinarydepot was able to answer all my questions about this knife.

Victorinox doesn’t disclose blade hardness or blade materials because the blades are soft! Victorinox uses the lowest quality in every component of construction. High carbon doesn’t mean anything because in the knife world 0.

5% carbon is considered high carbon. A high quality stainless steel knife blade will contain more than high carbon to make the blade hard, durable and tight grain structure. A good blade should have a hardness of 58 to 60 Rockwell hardness.

The best of the best will be over 60. I’ve owned more that 20 Victorinox knives all have had soft blades. There are better quality knives with disclosed blade materials, blade hardness and a better price.

I’ve gone through several boning knives to find a great one. I had paid a similar amount of money for a previous boning knife that seemed to be improperly heat treated. I could flex it to the side and it would stay put BENT.

Perfect weight, size and handling qualities when deboning poultry. So far I deboned a couple of Butterball turkeys; surprisingly does not take that long. Stuff it with seasoned dressing and the bones go into my slow cooker along with veggies and barley towards the end to give the soup body.

So the technique of preparing turkey really gives me a 2 for 1 cost saving. And the knife itself comes with a sharp edge that holds. Great deal!.

Victorinox produces a stellar knife and this is no exception. I boned a 4 pound fryer within 11 minutes without so much as a puncture in the skin. The flexibility allowed me to manuver around the ribs and breastbone without leaving too much meat behind.

I loved the fact that the handle is easily cleaned and not having to worry about food borne bacteria. Great little tool in the kitchen!.

This knife immediately became the best kitchen knife I own. Normally, I have to run new knives over a fine hone sharpening stone for a while to get the kind of edge I expect on a kitchen knife, especially a slicey dicey curved knife.

Not this bad boy. It can slice paper thin tomato slices, cut meat like its warm butter, and probably a bunch of other things that you shouldn’t be doing with this type of blade anyway, like the paper test (which it passed easily.

Before I tried the tomato. ) I honestly kind of want to throw out 95% of my other kitchen knives and get some more of this Clauss series. If this knife disappoints you, then you have unrealistic standards in knives.

That’s the bottom line. I could easily pay 10 times as much for a knife that isn’t even half this good. In fact, I have. :(.

I use this knife mostly for skinning fish and it’s very easy to use. The non-slip grip fits my hand well and makes it easy to manuver – I sometimes find my smaller hands have trouble gripping larger knives.

The blade is still nice and sharp (haven’t had to sharpen yet) so it glides easily through the fish, and is the perfect length for skinning a good sized filet. The blade has decent flexibility – not as much as my previous filet knife – but it gets the job done.

Cleans easily and I like the idea of the ‘microban protection’ since it is used for raw fish. Recommended!.

This slicing knife has a very thin blade, very much like a fish filet knife. That, along with the fact that it comes very sharp, means it cuts delicate meats and fish very easily, without any tearing.

The handle is hard plastic with a softer rubbery overmold that gives it a solid grip even when wet. It’s so sharp that it would have been nice to have a protective sheath/cover. I may have to make one.

This knife seems to be worth the effort.

I would like to begin by saying I have rather large hands, usually wear XXL gloves. Reason I mention this is that the only reason why I did not give this a 5 star rating is due to the handle thickness.

This Knife is held not only by the handle but by the blade itself, usually a couple of digits so that one has complete control of what you are cutting. This is the typical way Japanese knives are held.

This knife came razor sharp, with beautiful detail of the Damascus look. ( note to reader Damascus steel cutlery is made differently then out door knives and the effect is done by layering and welding) This knife was rated the top knife for its’ longevity (ability to last a lifetime) The parent company Zwilling, has by far the best warranty service that I have seen in a knife company.

I have been using the parent companies knives for over 42 years and even decades later they have stood by their warranty and replaced my damage blades. The fact it took so many decades prior to this replacement speaks volumes of the quality of this parent company.

Just a heads up, this is Japanese style Chef knife and should not be confused or compared to western Chef knives as there are many differences between the two in way of using, weight of knife, and care.

This is such a joy for me! I’m an old guy who learned to rely on women to do the cooking. I have been a single parent for nearly 20 years now. The first few years I made food that. well, the nutrients were in it, but generally a mushy and homely melange.

But a person learns. Over the last decade or so I’ve gotten pretty good People like the food I make, and the presentation is generally photogenic. Knives. At first I had a bunch of mismatched knives that I struggled to use.

A while back I bought a $200 set of knives and it made quite a difference. Just recently and quite by chance I found a store that specializes in Japanese knives. I went in and came out with a Miyabi SG2 Birchwood Gyuto 200mm knife.

I can’t say enough about it. It sure is good looking. Obviously there is an “art” in artisan and it’s plainly visible in this knife. The steel is silver with dark ripples showing that it has been made with skill and care.

The handle is worthy of such a beautiful blade. Smooth and hard, with an inlay so perfectly inset that it is absolutely smooth at the surface. It’s balanced and so comfortable to hold and to wield. I’ve never had a knife with so keen a blade.

It takes a beautiful edge and holds it well. Cutting with it is effortless. Finely I can thin slice and finely dice and it comes out looking like it ought to. Care is simple: Just mild soap and water, rinse, and dry before putting it in the blade guard.

When I take it out I hone it against the ceramic rod I purchased with it and it’s just as fresh and new as it was when I purchased it. So easy to do. I’ve known for a while that I would one day have a really good set of knives.

This is my first one; it will not be my last. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Incredibly beautiful, impossibly sharp, amazingly practical. Can a knife be sexy? In this case, it think so. The blade has just the right heft and balance, and the birchwood handle feels great in my hand.

I am puzzled as to why Miyabi didn’t seal or protect the raw wood handles, but I see that as an opportunity to personalize my new knife. If you purchase these knives, you are probably an enthusiast, and won’t mind putting in some extra work to protect your investment.

It adds to the mystique. The knife, with the Damascus blade and birchwood handle, is too stunning to put in a block. Mine will be displayed in my kitchen on a magnetic easel for all to see. The SG2 steel ensures that super-sharp edge will last.

I intend to keep my knife for a long time. It’s all about the metallurgy….

The knife is amazing. This knife outperform so many German knives like Wusthof, Cutco, Victorinox, and Wolfgang Puck that are much more expensive. but Gunter has somehow figured out how to make one. It’s razor sharp out of the box, and a joy to use.

When slicing a tomato, it barely deflects the skin before it cuts smoothly through. Want super thin slices of beef? No problem Gunter knives will do it. it holds its edge rather well, I knew that the true test would come when it was time to sharpen.

Well, the time came, and it passed with flying colors. If you’re more interested in results and impressing folks with how your kitchen tools look like, this is the knife to get very beautiful chef knife.

Love the handle. Well balanced and comfortable grip in the hand. Great quality.

Quality wasn’t what I expected. Blade is not as sharp and seems a little off balanced. I’ve had better luck with Dahlstrong at a more reasonable price.

I bought all three knives from Our Place. I had been looking for good knives for a few years and never found any. As soon as I saw these knives, I knew I wanted them. Because the pan was such good quality, I had no doubt the knives would be too.

They are pricey, but very well worth it. I don’t have a knife set because I don’t have a lot of counter space and I know I won’t use all the knives. For this reason, I invested in the knives from Our Place and I am 100% pleased.

It’s the greatest thing since sliced bread! The knife is extremely well-made and has perfect balance in your hand. When you use it please be careful because the knife is so sharp it can almost cut you just by looking at it! I know they might seem pricey but not really when you consider the quality of construction and the materials used.
