20 Best Knife Set Amazon Prime Day (2023 Updated)

So awesome! I have small hands and this 3 piece set was exactly what I was looking for! 5” santoku is my “Go-to” and the handle is extremely comfortable and blade is sharp. I don’t recommend putting these in dishwasher.

These guys come ready for business! I used them immediately after getting them and I was not disappointed. They came fully sharpened with covers for your protection. They have been cutting away in my kitchen for the past 2 weeks and they seem just as sharp as day one.

I’m in love!.

I have ordered Rachel Ray products from Zulily before and have not been disappointed. These knives are n o different. They are sharp and the handle is comfortable to hold. I love to cook and I find myself always reaching for one of these knives!.

There are quality issues with this set that I have not seen in other sets that cost 2x more. I would be ok with this set only if it cost half what I paid, but I would rather have paid double to get a set that does not have the quality issues below.

-The tang on all knives in the set protrudes a fraction of a millimeter from the handle along all sides, giving it a rough, cheap, and uncomfortable feeling when holding. Im sure the space will also hold dirt and grime.

-The set says it is dishwasher safe, but after 1 single wash, a steak knife handle turned a duller black, almost grey. No other cutlery has done this in the same dishwasher. I will hand was the rest of the blades.

-Each of the blades in the whole set are thinner than other blades in the same style that I have. Each one can flex more than I think it should. -Each blade has visible machining marks left behind during manufacturing.

The knife set looks great. The knife block has a nice finish to it as well. The straight edge knives are sharp and ready to use. Although the balance is off with most of the set with heavy blades; the paring knife is balanced perfectly.

The serrated edge bread knife is a disappointment out of the box. The serrated edge is not finished properly and will need to be honed before use. The kitchen shears appear to be of good quality, however the handle grip holes are too small.

It seems this shears were designed for a woman’s hand; I have to use them with just two fingers and a thumb, which makes using them uncomfortable and results in difficulty to cut. Overall this is a decent set, but definitely not for everyone.

This is a good introductory set if money is an issue. Serious cooks will want a higher quality product.

My family and I were visiting the Great Smoke Mountain Knife Works and came across this set on sale. The knifes we replaced were from a lower end knife set that we had been using daily the last 7 years.

Our new set, The HENCKELS Dynamic Knife Set with Block, The blades are very sharp and strong. The handles fit perfectly in your hand. However, I have noticed the handle on one steak knife is chipping or wearing off in the black but all other 14 are in perfect condition.

Was thrilled to be gifted this earlier this year. This set is an unbeatable starter kit for someone looking to build their collection of high quality knives that you will use often. Knives are all fantastic quality and the block fits easily in a kitchen drawer, great if you’re looking to save counter space.

I have this in drawer insert and I just love storing my knives this way. You’ll have to store your shears and honing steel separately but the knives slide into this tray so perfectly and there are grooves for longer blades and shorter blades so you can fit several more knives beyond the four you get in the set.

The Professional S knives are super sharp and have a really nice weighted feel in your hand. They are forged from specially formulated steel which is corrosion and crack resistant. They stay super sharp use after use and only need to be sharpened about once per year.

This is an awesome paring knife! Whether it’s prepping sushi rolls, trimming meat, or cutting up fruit for a refreshing treat, this paring knife has easily become my go-to knife. I think it is out on my counter more than it is in the drawer.

Since I was gifted this product in order to give it an honest review and have been neglecting the rest of my paring knives ever since. Not only did this knife arrive super sharp, but it comes with its own self-sharpening sleeve, which will ensure that it remains sharp.

I definitely wish that all of my knives had a protective sleeve that also sharpened. I will be shopping for additional Edge-Keeper products in the near future. The ergonomic handle fits comfortably in my hand as well as my husband’s.

Bought this to replace a non-stick knife I’ve been using after hearing a lot about the negative health aspects of non-stick products. Well, this new knife I found to be so dull right out of the package that it kept slipping off the side of the carrots I was trying to slice vertically, causing me to almost cut myself several times.

Won’t be using this again. I’d rather take my chances with the potential long term chemical risk of my non-stick knives than risk chopping my finger off with this useless knife! Gave it 2 stars instead of 1 just because it was so inexpensive.

The Farberware Edgekeeper (item no FULST11) turned my otherwise perfect Wüsthof chef knife into a butter knife. By far THE worst product I have EVER used. When looking at the angle of the ceramic rods it looks close to 44 degrees.

A shame, really. The OXO sharpener I previously had kept my knifes at crazy sharpness but Target didn’t have them in stock and I wound up buying this one. I would love for Farberware to reach out and send me a real sharpener – one with a 16 degree angle that actually puts an edge on a knife.

5″ paring knife and shears. These knives come to you very sharp, so be careful! I am not used to working with sharp knives as my last knife block, did not have a sharpener attached. I didn’t want to buy one to store some where, so its nice that this comes with it attached to the block and ready for use at all times.

The instructions say to use the knives for two weeks before you follow the sharpening routine and then sharpen every two weeks. These knives cut everything very easily. The instructions to sharpen knives were very easy to follow.

You have to make sure that when you are sharpening knives that you go all the way to the bottom of the sharpener, no matter how long the knife is. Bigger knives are inserted at the top and the smaller knives are inserted at the bottom of the opening.

Once in place, slide the lever all the way up and back all the way down 10 times, then carefully take the knife out, rinse and dry the knife thoroughly before storing. These knives need to be hand washed and never washed in the dishwasher.

Washing them in the dishwasher can decrease the quality of the knife, damage the blade edge and reduce the stainless steel integrity. I typically wash by hand and let air dry before storing but the instructions say to dry them thoroughly before storing to prevent watermarks and spotting.

The block is easy to clean as well with a thorough wipe down. The shears come apart for easy cleaning. There are also suction cups at the bottom of the base to keep the knife block in place. If you ever need to move the block, be sure to remove all the knives before doing so.

This comes with a “Quick Start Guide”, which gives you the sharpening instructions, sharpener tips and tricks, recommended knife usage, what’s in the box and cleaning& care. So far, I have been thoroughly impressed with this set and recommend this to those who are looking for a better knife experience.

I own and have been using that Ninja foodi never dull premium knife for a few weeks this is absolutely unique Lee perfect knife set. I love the technology, the durability, how it has a comfortable grip.

I love that it also has in this built in stone sharpening wheel for your knives but not for this shears. These knives when they cut they go through like butter. I love how each handle is very comfortable in your hand, I love the handle that it has the full Tang throughout the whole knife.

I also love that the sharpness. love every single knife has the Engraving and it says the name of the knife on everyone. I love the caddy which holds all of your knife set. The quality, that precision, the door ability is on point.

And when using the never dull Stone sharpening wheel it gives a perfect angle and implies the right amount of pressure on your blade they give you the super incredible sharpness that is needed for your blades.

I love that when you use the knife to cut the most delicate Foods cut through it like butter and it doesn’t Shred the meat or if using on vegetables like tomatoes it still keeps it round not givea it a smushy look.

The blades have a German stainless steel Rich’s rust resistant and very super strong. I love how it feels perfect and my hand does not slide off the handle while I’m cutting. And to wash your knives you doing by hands not in a dishwasher just to maintain the sharpness of your knives.

I would definitely absolutely 100% recommended. I had a friend of mine here to help cut up vegetables and meat and she loved how it felt how it cut how it looks and how everything is put away in one unit and she brought one for herself.

I have owned many knife sets throughout the year’s and can honestly say this is the best so far. The metal of the knife is full length all the way through the handle and the rivets securely hold the handles in place.

The signature colors of black and silver on the knifes and the base unit match other Ninja products that we have in our kitchen creating a pleasing color match. I have to honestly say I was disappointed with the addition of a knife sharpener in the storage unit, first impression – it is a gimmick.

It was hard to operate and I did not understand the science of how it works. After watching the online video and re-reading the instructions, watching the operation of the sharpening stone did I realize how it works.

You have to follow instructions and move the handle all the way up and all the way down, no stopping. The sharpening actions actually occurs on the downward stroke as you can see through the translucient window on the side.

It actually worked! The knifes are so sharp you really have to be carefull when cutting as a careless error can be awful. Would have been nice for the knife handles to have a little more texture for ease of gripping.

The sharpener is not a gimmick, really does work but does not replace a sharpening steel to get that really fine cutting edge. Gets my vote!.

Moved into my first apartment last month and I love cook and being in the kitchen after work and having a different dish ready for when my girlfriend arrives home. These knives definitely get the job done and slice through anything.

I love snacking on watermelon and I used the serated knife and was eating the fresh water melon 10 minutes later. I always struggled with knives back home but I promised myself to buy a quality pair when I moved out.

Thankfully I had a zwilling store not too far so I was able to see them in person which was great. It’s a quality knife and feels great in the hand when slicing and dicing. I had the pleasure of hosting both my parents and girlfriends parents over for dinner into the new apartment and the fact that it comes with steak knives is amazing.

Everyone complements the knives which is hilarious and something I would’ve never thought I’d get a compliment on. Overall highly satisfied and I wish I could buy more zwilling products for my new apartment.

I purchased the J A Henckels Knife Block Set for my kitchen so I would have a nice set of knives when I needed them. I was quite happy with my purchase once I received them. The knives are all quite sharp and do an excellent job of cutting and slicing.

Be careful when washing these knives as they can cut you very easily. I have forgotten a few times and thrown them in the sink. While reaching in to clean the dishes I have cut a finger or two in the process.

Now I make sure to clean my knives immediately after use and place them back into the knife block. Doing this will keep your knives sharp and your fingers safe.

i purchased the knifeblock for a Christmas gift for my son in law. i was so disappointed and actually embarrassed at the quality of the knifeblock and knives when my son in law opened his gift. Although the knifeblock itself was in sealed plastic, it was covered in dust.

We couldnt figure out how that could even be possible since it was in sealed plastic. My husband and I were actually watching a video call from our phone onto our tv as he was opening his gift. He commented on how dusty it was and dusted it off.

The knifeblock had some kind of cut into it from a tool and was very blemished. Further inspection showed a crack also in the block. My son in law got the package of knives open and inspected each knife.

One of the knives had a very noticeable broken edge. This is definitely a case of neglectful quality control. This set should have never passed inspection. Our plan is to return the knifeblock set. This situation will make me leary about ordering anything in the future.

I regret not checking the set out before I gave it as a gift! I saw the set in person at Walmart before having to order it because they were sold out. It was a beautiful set and looked well made, so I never thought about receiving it in this condition.

I was gifted this knife set in exchange for an honest review. Frankly, I didn’t expect much when I saw the price, but after using them for a bit, and taking care of them as I would a set of very expensive knives, they’re holding up better than expected.

First impressions: The block is sleek and is solid enough to not tip over if you’re not paying attention while putting them in. The knives feel good in the hand, but other than the chef’s knife and set of steak knives, I tend not to use the others too much.

I’ve been honing them with the included steel between uses, and haven’t had to use an actual sharpener yet, though I have noticed the edge is dulling already. Not a huge deal as long as it doesn’t chip, since a sharpener is only about $30 anyway.

Overall, as long as you don’t abuse these and throw them in the dishwasher, hone them between uses, and sharpen them more often than more expensive knives, they work well enough around the kitchen for your cooking needs, especially at a price this low.

I was gifted this knife set in exchange for an honest review. Great knife set! Seriously? $55? This set compares to my $150 set. There wasn’t anything I could find to complain about. The blades are sharp and well balanced.

The handles are smooth and very comfortable in my hand. The block is a added asset. It’s nice to have the knives on the counter and within easy reach. This would definitely be a nice gift for any new couple or anyone looking to replace an old worn set without breaking the bank.

I own quite a few of kitchen knives and take pride in high-quality kitchen utensils. My main knife is a Shun which is the yardstick against which I measure all other knives. And the simple truth is that the test of a good knife is how it handles variety of different textured food, but the Best of knives struggle on one simple food, tomatoes.

Right out of the box, these knives are super precise and cut through tomatoes with surgical precision. I cut a large tomato quite thin and then proceeded to a cut smaller cherry tomatoes into tiny pieces.

A standard knife struggles on the skin of the tomato but with enough pressure ultimately pushes through, these knives like all premier knives I have used, slice right through the skin and produce a crisp beautiful slice.

A comfortable handle is a pleasure to use, and after using either of the two knives for a considerable time. , It still feels ergonomic in the hand. I have cut fruits vegetables meats and I’m happy to say that these knives go toe to toe with my best knife.

The chef knife is an excellent primary knife or a great back up knife to keep for a secondary location. I personally have a second home and will be taking these knives to be used as my primary knives there.

Edge retention was impressive as well which is important because a lot of knives are sharp for a day or so but then go full very quickly. As with all knives I recommend using a honing rod frequently as this will help the knives maintain a nice edge.

This is just another excellent product from Ninja!!!.

They weren’t what I had expected when I took them out of the packaging but I quickly became a fan. Initially, I was impressed with their sharpness, the through tang and the balance of each blade (Chef & Santoku) but, I was not impressed with the finish of the blade.

While some of the details are not as refined as what I consider ‘premium’ blades to feature, they were clearly better than entry level kitchen knives and the price point was appropriate for what you get.

After a few uses and washes, the knives seem to have a better appearance. (I know this does not make sense, maybe I just got used to them. ) The contoured handle is easy to hold and orient the blade.

The knives serve their intended purpose well. The chef knife has a long blade that is great at slicing. I was able to cut thin pita bread into very long, thin slices with clean lines. The Santoku knife is great for shopping and has a curved blade that lets you rock chop on the cutting board.

The edge out of the package seemed a little rough but was very sharp. I could cut thin, even, translucent slices of tomato. It will be a while before I need to sharpen them. These are proven designs that work well in a kitchen setting.

They could be better refined; the alignment and finish could be tweaked; but you can be proud that this knife set is better than the average person uses.

Really great knife I enjoyed using them set of Ninja Foodi knives come extremely sharp. This set of knives included an 8″ Chef knife and a 5″ Santoku knife. The picture in the description of cutting tomatoes thin is true.

I was able to easily cut tomatoes super thin. The knives have some weight to them and seem very durable. They are well balanced, and you can easily let the weight and sharpness of knife do the cutting.

The knives have a classic and quality look to them. They are full-tang with the steel running the entire length and the handle a solid mat black with silver rivets. The knives have a quality feel to them.

I normally lean to Japanese steel knives, but I am impressed with the sharpness of these German steel knives. They cut every bit as thin and easily as my sharp VG-10 Japanese steel knives. We will see how long the sharpness lasts.

The knives are promoted as for the NeverDull system. But that would need the sharpening stand that you slide the knife in and out of. I do not have the NeverDull knife sharpener. But I do feel confident that I know how to sharpen a knife.

The NeverDull system is for ease of use and for someone who doesn’t know how to sharpen a knife or doesn’t want to sharpen knives. I personally like to sharpen my knives when needed. I expect the softer German steel will need sharpening more often than my Japanese knives.

But we will see how this premium German steel holds up. I am surprised that there isn’t a better way to package these knives. Most knives come in a box. These came in a plastic box on a plastic tray.

It didn’t seem like a good representation of the quality of knives that were delivered. i am satisfied so far with these knives. They seem like good quality knives.

I wanted to like this knife set so bad. I had it on my wedding registry and it was one of the first gifts I received. I immediately opened it and placed it on my counter top with excitement. It has been about a month since I received and I have only used one knife thus far, washed it, and it is already rusting along the handle and blade.

Last I checked, ‘stainless steel’ means that shouldn’t happen. I even double checked the description immediately once I saw the rust because I seconded guessed whether it was stainless steel. It maybe sat in water for 5 minutes or less.

I’ve never had a piece of silverware or cutlery rust like that, not even the cheap stuff I’ve owned. I’m going to attempt to return it, although I’m a little concerned since I don’t have the receipt or box anymore as I had no intention to return it initially.

My only hope is that it was on my registry. All I can say is buyer beware. It looks beautiful but if you ever intend to use it for anything other than eye candy – run away fast and buy something else!.

These knives rust so easily! Even when washing as recommended, I will still find rust stains. Additionally, my husband accidentally put one in the dish washer and it rusted completely! One knife completely ruined.

I have never had a knife set that rusted so easily and quickly! I haven’t had this set for more than two month.

I’ve owned many knives over the years. I try to learn about each of them and make better decisions next purchase. After purchasing a full set of Wusthof knives I learned about quality and name brand.

I would recommend these knives to anyone as a good jumping off point for purchasing GOOD knives. They’re very good quality, but also pretty safe. You’re going to be able to use them well and get many years out of them if you so choose.

They’re not finicky and require no special care. Just hand wash them and put them away properly, get the sharpened by a professional and they’ll give you years of use. I’ve given a lot of my Wusthofs away to people I know would appreciate them, but the ones I keep have a permanent place on my knife bar.

I was excited to finally purchase a set of quality, expensive knives. My mistake was not going into the store to check them out beforehand. I purchased them online and as soon as I started opening them I could tell they were not going to meet my expectations.

Yes, the blades are nice and sharp, and the wood block is very nice, but that was about all. The knives are very lightweight. They don’t feel like quality knives. And the types of knives included in this set were not to my liking either.

There were at least 3 or 4 very small knives that I knew I would rarely use. Additionally, it didn’t come with a good knife for cutting tomatoes. Oftentimes the steak knives can get this done but these steak knives were not serrated.

All in all, I decided that for the price point, I really want to love my knives and I just don’t love these enough. I returned them to the store and selected another set that better let my needs and expectations.

The return was very simple and I appreciated all the time they spent educating me in the store.

I had heard about these knives offhand, but never really thought they were worth the price. I thought that all knives were the same more for less, and I was happy with the knife set I had before. I bought these to try because I had a gift card, and couldn’t find anything else I wanted.

All I have to say is wow. From the moment you hold the knives in your hand, you can already tell that there’s a difference in these knives’ quality. The knives feel like a well balanced weight in your hands.

They cut through food so smoothly and so easily, and I can’t even go back to my old knives. I will be purchasing more. I have hand washed my knives, and honed after each use, which I highly recommend to properly maintain the knives.

I’ve had this product for about two months now and so far I like it. All of the knives came in sharp and were packaged with tip protectors and wrapped in paper and foam so I didn’t see any cracks or other flaws in the knives or block.

I would make a suggestion to Zwilling to label the knives so it’s a little easier to tell which knife to use as three of them look about the same when they’re in the block. I had a NY strip steak today and the steak knives were nice and sharp, (not that I overcooked it, as I had it medium) but they don’t have a bolster like the four other knives otherwise the set would’ve probably been more expensive, but hardly anyone should have issues with their hand slipping while using the steak knives.

Also, the steak knives have both a serrated and plain blade, both are equally sharp imo.

Looked at several different sets in this price range. The balance and edge on these knives are fantastic. Great feel in your hands overall. Love the wood handles as opposed to plastic or metal.

I’m not a professional chef but an advanced home cook. For years I had a block set of expensive Japanese knives and while I still enjoyed using them and the aesthetics, and they were well-balanced, they were too large and too heavy, the steel is brittle and suffered a few chips and I even had to replace the utility knife under warranty when the entire blade broke off at the bolster after accidentally dropping it.

Turns out they were not full-tang and what tang there was was only about 1/4″ thick. I’d been wanting to replace them for about two years now and did a lot of research in the meantime. I also made my own knives as a teenager (from kits, I didn’t forge them) so I know a bit about how they’re put together.

I decided early on I wanted to go with a knife roll for two reasons: 1) get the huge bulky knife block off my counter top (the roll fits perfectly in one of my drawers and takes very little space within it) and 2) I get asked to cook in kitchens of family and friends that have knives thrown in a jumble in the utensil drawer and have probably never been sharpened, and now I can bring my own knives.

That may be a “d” move on my part but I’d rather keep all of my fingers. I figured I’d be buying the roll separately. Now the knives. Tired of brittle Japanese steel I wanted to go with German high-carbon steel, also a traditional handle, and they must be full-tang and riveted.

I had been considering more pricey models from well-known consumer brands but I read a lot of high praise for Mercer knives from pros so when I found this set of Mercer Renaissance, it checked all the boxes.

And boy I was not disappointed! I love the whole set. Every knife I need and no more in a well constructed and definitely sturdy nylon roll. There’s only room in the roll for a couple more tools though, so if you want expandability, look elsewhere.

The knives themselves are flawless in finish, lightweight, balanced, comfortable to hold and razor sharp, and even at a quarter of what I was prepared to spend on a certain German brand I doubt I could tell the difference side-by-side.

It’s hard for me to believe I got exactly what I wanted for much less than I thought I would have to spend. Again, not a pro, so couldn’t say how they hold up in a commercial kitchen, but just by look and feel I’m sure they fare as well as anything else if cared for.

It would be nice if they came with some good blade guards as well, but Mercer makes ’em and WebstaurantStore sells ’em so I got those too at only a bit more cost. Worth it. I gave the Japanese knives to my daughter-in-law and didn’t even wave good-bye.

A great set for your pit. A good range of knives for all BBQ tasks, they are super sharp and comfortable to hold. The grip might look a little ‘plasticky’ online but, they have a great non slip feel to them unlike some other cheap ones I have tried before.

The carry bag is a good design and quite sturdy, rolls up easily and the flap holds the knives in snuggly (the 11″ slicer fits in easily) and secure so they don’t fall out. The carry strap makes it easy to take anywhere or hang it up.

Excellent all round set at a great price.

These knives are very good in most situations. I don’t have a lot of counter space in my apartment, so having a roll is really nice. and for your average weeknight cooking, these knives are perfect. I don’t find them lacking in any department when it’s just prep work.

If I were a professional chef with heavy-duty needs, I’d go in a different direction. I did notice a bit of bend, but I was pushing through through frozen rabbit ribs, so that’s to be expected. If I was to complain about anything it would be that the handles.

Though they feel good in your hand, they’re made out of that cheap plastic that EVERYTHING is made out of. Makes cooking feel kind of clinical. Each knife comes with a plastic sheath which is nice, but I already lost one.

so don’t do that. Keep an eye on yr sheathes.

i purchased these knives because i wanted to try Rachel ray product. well this is now 8-2021 and still working strong and ive NEVER had to sharpen these knives yet. But be cautious the are very sharp and i have cut my finger once or twice not realizing how sharp they are I totally recommend if ur looking for sharp knives buy these.

Overall I’m pretty pleased with the knives. Note to other users: Make sure to run them through a manual sharpener at least a few times before using them. The edge that came on my set “out of the box” needed some work.

My initial reaction was that I was quite happy with the balance and the feel of the knife in my hand. It feels like a much more expensive knife. The 8″ Chef’s Knife made short work of turning a full cut of flank steak into taco meat without having to resort to any sort of sawing motion for any of it.

While I was most looking forward to the Chef’s Knife, I happen to think the 5″ Utility Knife might be the most useful of the three in an average kitchen. I was prepping salads for the weeks and the thinner blade of the Utility Knife really proved a very sharp and “agile” blade for working with all sorts of vegetables.

I was surprised as how much time it saved me. The Paring knife is also solid addition to any kitchen. I would highly recommend this set of knives as a “buy once, cover all the bases” purchase.

This is a great set of basic knives. It comes with the knives you probably use most commonly – paring knife, utility knife and a chef knife. They’re comfortable to hold and fit right in your hand. I love the way they feel.

I’ve slicked apples, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and many other foods with these knives. They’re not too heavy and the blades do a fantastic job of cutting. Whether you are slicing, dicing, or cutting up meat, these knives can do the job for you and make every task easier so you’re out of the kitchen more quickly.

When you have a sharp knife, you’re less likely to cut yourself because the knives do all the work. These knives can be easily sharpened, but they are nice and sharp right out of the package. Remember to wash these by hand and your Ninja NeverDull knives will last you a very long time.

If you are looking for a basic knife set to do most of the every day jobs you need to do while cooking, these knives will not disappoint.

This is a really great set of knives. I do a lot of cooking and chopping, and these knives are by far the best knives I have ever used. I was very surprised at how sharp they were. These knives can seriously cut through anything.

I really like that these knives have some weight to them. You can definitely tell that these knives are very durable and made out of high quality material. I love that they are very sturdy and not flimsy at all.

I also like the grip on the handles. They fit comfortably in my hand which makes handling these knives fairly easy. My hand does not hurt after using these for a long period of time. This knife set is perfect for any level home chef or professional chef you are.

This would definitely be a great housewarming or wedding gift. I highly recommend this product.

I can honestly say this is the absolute best set of cutlery I’ve ever purchased I absolutely love this set. Each knife is perfection in workmanship and designed for the professionals , the novice, those, who are just beginning.

(NOT FOR CHILDREN)- they are way too sharp for kid’s to handle!!! Every knife is perfectly balanced with sharp beveled edges that retain a razor sharp edge. They retain their shape as well. Best of all you have a wonderful sharpening steal/bar to top off the blades when needed.

also having the block to store them is another extra as well as the all purpose shears/scissors. Because each one is made of stainless steel if your a magnetic strip on the wall kind-of person their perfect for your needs as well.

I’ve been complaining about my shabby knives for several years now, as well as my complete lack of steak knives. So for Christmas, the family got me this wonderful Cutlery block. It is exactly what I needed.

It is so nice to have fresh, sharp knives handy when ever I want them. The set includes everything I need, including scissors. I have a nephew who is a chef and the fam contacted him for recommendations.

He didn’t tell them a specific brand, but rather what features to look for. These checked all the boxes and I love them. The handles have a nice slightly chunky grip, making them fit my hand nicely. They are forged in a single piece so the handles will never come off, but they are hollow, so they aren’t heavy.

Cutting several pounds of chicken can be hard on your hands if your knife isn’t just right. These are great! The block is attractive and sets of the stainless steel of the cutlery very nicely. Sitting next to my brand new Power XL air fryer, I totally classed up that end of my kitchen.

I purchased this set from Costco in 2023 to replace the Global and Calphalon knives I’ve had the past 20+ years. I very briefly considered going for more expensive individual Japanese knives from a specialty shop, but decided against it given how poorly my japanese Global knives held up (lots of chipping over the years due to misuse deboning chicken or even from cutting the rind off hard cheeses; and the Global knives needed to be honed and sharpened all the time) – so this led me to go with full tang german knives, which have held up to my [ab]use better in the past.

The wood handles of my old Calphalon knives were also warping and chipping from not being washed/dried properly over 20+ years, so I also decided to look for dishwasher safe handles. I would have actually preferred all metal handles, like Global knives, but this seemed like a good compromise of the sturdier full tang german blades paired with non-wood handles that I was after.

Given all this, I decided to get this value set that I believe should hold up well for another 10-20 years. While I was really only needing a new chef, santoku, and some steak knives, the serrated utility knife (tomato knife) and boning knife made me say “why not” and buy the larger 20-pc block bundle to get all new knives.

Again, it’s great that the handles are dishwasher safe, though they do have a downside. I took off 1 star because I don’t like the texture of the polymer handles so far. The plastic coating on the handles feels gritty in a bad way, like sand paper.

It reminds me a bit of using chalk on a blackboard. Looking closely at the handles, there are a bunch of micro tares in the grey polymer that flop up like tiny hairs when you run your hand over the handle.

I wonder if this is an odd set or if they’re all like this intentionally. Perhaps these will go away with more scrubbing and use over time. Anyway, because of the gritty feeling handles, I think that you should handle these in person in a store to make sure you like them before buying.

We received the knives as a Christmas gift in anticipation of a kitchen remodel, so finally unboxed them, and have been using for 1 week. My daughter bought them at Costco. It’s a bigger set than we really needed, as we each have our 3-4 favorite knives.

Also, on recommendation from chefs in the family, knives never go into the dishwasher and are always washed immediately after use. Pros: • Super sharp blades • Love the size of the Santuko chef knife, plus cucumbers, carrots, etc.

, don’t suction to the knife blade and roll away with the next slice • Knife handles are a comfortable shape, but are a bit large especially for someone with a small hand. • Great to have a boning knife • Set includes 3” and 4” Paring knives, so 2 cooks can be peeling at the same time.

**see Con below • Cons: • The knife block is beautiful but has a very large footprint on the counter • Paring knives are both quite chunky, nearly 1” at the base of the blade, making peeling awkward.

The blade is wider than the handle—I’m a little worried I might cut the base of my thumb as I draw the blade toward it, i. e. , peeling a mango. I prefer a much narrower blade, with the shape of a boning knife, that is easier to manipulate in tight motions, depending on the food being peeled, think beets or turnips.

I would have liked a narrow parer, and one that tapered, being 1/2-3/4” (no wider than the handle).

Nicely crafted and balanced. Thick steel with durable handle. Only one steak knife has a blemish, gray stripe length of blade. Block is 45′, good for fit under cabinets. Can remove longest knives easily without obstruction.

Utility knife is serrated, not my preference. Additional steak knives easily available, which stopped me from buying the silver cap model. Curved tang at end helps hold the handle in hand, nicely done, pleasantly surprised.

Makes this shape a first choice for me, over the previous winner, silver cap. That tang probably a bonus for arthritic hands. Only disappointed there is no utility non-serrated knife with a more narrow (lower) profile, as the other models do have.

Product made in China. The Zwilling version is made in Germany, triple the price. The steel seems true, the santoku knives are supposed to be a stronger steel, allowing for a lighter and slightly thinner steel.

On visual inspection, I can see the grain is tighter, a good thing. The shorter, 5 inch santoku will probably be my utility and prep knife as it is not serrated, thinner, and has grantons to aid in gliding through the cut.

Preparing a salad, it was a winner. I would prefer a non-serrated low profile utility knife to the bread knife, or instead of the 5 inch santoku (with it’s slight rocking tip), especially since there is a 6 inch rocking santoku.

Great set! The color is so pretty and they knives cut nicely. Love them and would definitely buy again!

Super sharp knives. I was skeptical because good knives are usually a lot more expensive, but these are great.

I am very happy with this knife set and block. The block is more stream lined so it doesn’t take up a lot of space on my counter and it looks great. The knives have a nice weight to them and cut well.

They feel good in my hand and seem like they will last a while. My favorite piece in the set is the large 8” chef knife. I use it multiple times a day to cut food up for my two kids. Great with a cutting board from chopping veggies to cutting crust off a sandwich for picky kids 😉 The all-purpose kitchen shears are also great and I use them a lot of trim up chicken.

Definitely recommend this knife set!.

I really like this knife block set. It comes with six steak knives and six utility knives (chef’s knife, paring knife, etc. ) as well as a pair of scissors and a sharpening steel all made of high quality stainless steel.

There is a spot for each piece within the block, but there is not a guide so it takes a second to figure out what goes where. Be sure to look at the box as a reference during assembly. The knives are all sharp and work well.

They have a good weight to them and even have an ergonomic handle.

This knife set is a great value! There are plenty of different sizes and types to meet all of your cutting needs. I use the smaller steak knife size quite a bit to cut fruit and other small veggies and this set has extras! The larger knifes are great for chopping, slicing and dicing.

I also really like the added scissors – they come in handy in the kitchen. The knives were sharp and stainless steel so they felt well made. I love the butcher block for storage too.
