15 Best Knife Block Set Under 100 (2023 Updated)

I got this one for my grand daughter first. She tried it and just could not say enough about it. When I asked her if she thought every body should have this knife. She thought only vegans. I told her that even meat eaters eat vegetables and fruit.

So I reorder enough to give one to everybody on my list. I did tell them to research it first because it is a different knife then I usually give them.

Our knives have chips only after 4 months of use. The company doesn’t cover this. For the price you pay I would shop elsewhere

I received two of these knives as a gift. At first, I wasn’t a fan because they are lightweight and changed the feel of how I was cutting produce. But after all my metal knives were dull (and I was sick of sharpening them), I tried the ceramic set.

I have come to love them and haven’t used my metal knives since. Six months later, my chef’s knife still slices through tomatoes everyday with ease. I like the paring knife too although I don’t use it nearly as often.

Just a week of use to review, but overall I’d say this product proves you get what you pay for. Compared to other Zwilling products we’ve owned , this knife set is lower quality. Quality relates to the weight of the knives, the balance, grip comfort, strength and blade flexibility.

The knives are decent quality compared to similarly priced products, and they will be good for light use and for people less comfortable wielding a heavier blade. The kitchen shears are definitely not going to last long, given their design and matey.

I was very pleased with this purchase. The knife block is heavy enough to not tip over but also not be cumbersome. The knives themselves have an ideal weight and comfort in the hand. The quality of the blades is just as great as it was over 30 years ago when I bought my parents their first set.

I will always highly recommend these knives. I will also loook into their other products.

This is a great set. It has all my needs covered. The paring knife is great for shaping and peeling. The prep knife makes veggies and herbs a breeze. The serrated knives are perfect for anything with a tougher exterior and soft inside like bread, tomatoes, citrus fruit and melons.

The chef’s knife handles all my larger chopping and cutting jobs. The carving knife makes nice thin slices of my cooked roasts. The handles are very comfortable and look great on my counter.

The pan set and knife set I brought is amazing! So easy to cook with , I love the look of them and they are so easy to clean!

We first discovered these knives while on vacation at a rental property. Once I used them I knew that I had to own them. I have been a faithful Cutco knife owner for 40 years, but these knives have a superior balance and feel to them that make cutting vegetables and meat an easy task.

My wrists and hands don’t tire as they do with other knives that force you to press down so much harder. I love this set and the price was excellent!.

These knives work great. Do not leave them in the sink wet. The water spots will cause surface rust. I was able to protect the metal by drying them after every use and wiping them with a cloth and some canola oil before putting them away.

Good quality knives that are nice to use and the knife block is compact compared to the slanted ones. Neutral colour and timeless design would suit any style of kitchen.

Great knife block set. They go with all my appliances which are in sage green. The knifes are of good quality and look great on worktop. Would recommend.

The knifes are very sharp. I peeled a soft mango with ease. The bread knife cuts through crispy bread easily. The only thing that could improve is a heavier base for the knives. It is light and can tip easy.

I love the knives in this set, really sharp and well made. The block is good but I find the knives rattle about in the slots. A little thing I know but when the knives feel as good as they do you want the block to be as good.

These knives are well made and come sharp enough for most things right out of the box. I appreciate that the steak knives have a small area of straight blade that is not serrated. This little detail gives so much more functionality on the blades.

It makes me happy with what for me is normally a part of the knife block I just consider almost a waste. The knives feel good in the hand. The utility and parer rank among the most comfortable I’ve used in my years in the kitchen both professionally and home.

My one complaint would be that I wish they would have profiled the bolster to be more usable for a pinch grip. This is a way that I use knives vary frequently but no one really designs for. Overall this is the best knife block I have found especially for the price.

The chef knife is solid. As I said the utility and paring knife are beyond comfortable and functional. This also gives me my fourth Henckel santoku knife so I guess they might be alright. The seriated knives function as other seriated knives do.

I haven’t found much of a difference in any seriated knives between brands or price ranges to be honest. The difference between a $10 seriated knife and a $200 one hasn’t been that pronounced in my experience.

The grip is nice but that’s most of what I can say about them. The self sharpening will help keep the knives in working order and cut down on how frequently I have to call on my sharpening guy. I was pleasantly surprised with how these knives felt and performed.

The quality and functionality was better than I expected and my expectations for knives is far from low. This block will give you everything you need for the bulk of home kitchen use. The utility knife will work as a carving knife in a pinch.

Add a boning knife and a cleaver and you will have a blade for anything that can come up in the kitchen. Even without these this block set will have everything an enthusiast needs to work comfortably in the kitchen and put anyone else well on the way to having a high quality knife for any situation.

This is the best block set I have come across without adding another zero to the price. For cheaper than a lot of the chef knives I’ve looked at you get a 14 piece set where there aren’t just some $2 cheap junk knives added to make it seem like your getting a deal.

Personal preference I would have loved if they would have subbed out a couple of the knives for blade styles I like a little more. A cleaver or nakiri would have sent this over the top. A carving knife is also one I feel would have been appropriate to include.

As it is, it is designed to give you what most people will use with the greatest frequency. I really couldn’t have asked for more from the set without getting custom knives. If you need a block get this set.

My wife and I picked out the 7-piece self-sharpening knife block because we needed new knives and have had good experiences with Henckels knives in the past. The knives are great. We use the Chef’s and Santoku knives almost every day, and they have taken the place of our previous Santoku and Chef’s knives.

The utility knife and parer are also great. And the shears are standard equipment. They work fine. We just always forget to use them as we have other scissors in our kitchen that we reach for first. The serrated utility knife is the only disappointment.

We haven’t found a use for it and wished we selected the set with a bread knife instead. Sharpening edges appear to be built into each knife sheath except for the serrated utility knife’s and the scissors’s.

We have found that the key to keeping the knives sharp is to slide them in and out of their holders with as little pressure as possible. Our instinct is always to press. This wasted effort and doesn’t sharpen the knives any more effectively.

Also when Henckels says don’t use the block with other knives, they mean it. The block can’t make a dull knife sharp. And the sheaths are custom built for the knives that come in the set. We like the block enough that we won’t return it.

It suits our needs. If someone were to ask us, we would recommend spending a little extra to get the 8-piece self-sharpening block instead. It includes the bread knife. Note: the block is considered one of the pieces in the set.

These knives are fantastic for daily use! Clean, straight blades I don’t have to get frustrated with. The steak knives, on the other hand, could use improvement. They sloppily tear through meat instead of gently and precisely slicing through.

The bread knife also tears, instead of slices. I’ve had 2 years of use from them, but even still i hope after more use they’ll dull down glide better instead of every jagged edge catching when it should be cutting.

It hasn’t been fun waiting! Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing! As for the rest of the set- the scissors are sharp enough I’ve cut myself washing them! More than once in the first few months. Lol.

They’ve dulled down thankfully after a year they’re still great 2yrs later! I cut raw meat with ease without hassle! I did receive one blade with a hard bend that was more than problematic but I’ve learned to “deal with it” as their customer service is atrocious unwilling to bend on simple matters as ONE knife being a problem instead of a “major” flaw as they put it 2 years ago.

Regardless, I AM happy with my knife set although I battle with a recommendation, as I admit- I do very much like my set, but I constantly wonder if this price point is worth it, when customer service doesn’t want to fix a hard bent knife out the box despite pictures and pleas.

maybe on this price better can be found but I do like my purchase.

I love the size and variety of knives in this set, and the kitchen shears are a great addition. The knives are super sharp and sleek, feel good in your hand, and look like they will last for many years.

I got these to replace a set of Henckel knives we’d had for at least 20 years and it’s wonderful to have very sharp knives again. The spinning block they’re housed in is also really cool, and the area on the back for a tablet or recipe book makes the block extra functional.

Never had a knife block set before. So far, I’m pleased with how sharp they are, and that they’re made out of single pieces of steel. No loose handles to ever worry about. They also fit comfortably in your hand.

I was recieved these knives as a house warming gift and I am quite puzzled at the good reviews. The knives are sharp yes, but the quality is extremely poor. I am too embarrassed to tell the person that gifted these to me that I’d like to exchange them because quite frankly these knives are terrible.

They keep getting rust spots on the blades ( I do not let them soak so I am not sure why they keep getting these spots). The wood color on the block is wrinkled and chipping. Honestly, I’ve had bad experiences with BBB due to their quality control when it comes to inspecting their merchandise after returns or sending damaged goods so I am wondering if that was the case with these knives.

Currently returning a USED Microwave Airfryer with missing pieces that was sold to me at store level last night which I am extremely annoyed about. But that’s another story. This one is to tell you that these knives are trash so don’t waste your money.

I bought these knives two weeks ago and I am not impressed at all. Both large knives are too thin to do any real chopping. They flex in while chopping or slicing veggies and you end up with uneven cuts.

Good luck chopping an onion evenly. It couldn’t even cut brussels sprouts straight through. They also stain immediately in the dishwasher. My old set of Henckels lasted well over 10 years and were amazing to use.

I have a cheap set of Cuisinart knives I got from Costco that are far superior to this. I would return them but the retailer will not take them back since they have been opened and used. If you plan on doing any real cooking, do not buy these as you will be disappointed.

This was an exchange for a knife block set that was damaged according to warranty. I purchased The J. A. Zwilling Int. Henckels Four Star 14 piece knife block set from Cutlery and More and registered it with Zwilling.

com. I love the Four Star set, glad I found it because Zwilling didn’t have it in stock. I’m sure this set is fine, but I have the “better” set. :).

I normally do not splurge on something nice like this for myself. But my oh my I am very happy that I did. There is not a bad thing I can say about the knives themselves. They feel great in my hand, very sharp edges on all the different knives, look great, and very good quality.

The only minor negative thing I could even say is the block is a little bigger than I expected. Having said that tho, the block is very nice as well. I love the fact that it sharpens as it goes in and out.

Just too cool. I find any excuse to use any of the knives. I am not a professional cook or anything like that, I just cook for my family mainly and friends on occasion. But I have noticed that I have been trying to plan on more events to do just so I can use them and even show them off to my friends.

I can continue talking about my new toys, but I will conclude my thoughts. But if anyone is thinking on maybe getting these, do yourself a solid and get them. It is a very good purchase that I am very happy that I talked myself into getting.

What comes to mind when you first heard the name Zwilling? I’ve heard “the BMW of knives” or the “Hermes of knives” well the product lives up to every bit of its name. When you first unbox the knives, you jump with excitement, one that makes a little bit of pee drizzle out.

When you first touch the handle, it feels like you are first laying hands on the partner of your dreams, the excitement continues to build. You take a moment to pause and enjoy the beauty of the engineering.

The way the light reflects off the blades. You think about weather you want to even toss away it’s packaging, for you want to savor this first time you unpack the knives. You continue to Unwrap each knife slowly, as you don’t want this to end too quickly.

You pause again to read each word of the protected knife packaging – no matter that the language is in German and you don’t understand each word. Still you stand there and pretend to comprehend. You slide each knife slowly into its block, careful not to poke the wood too hard fearful of damaging each tip.

Even though these knives would be able to handle it. You take another moment to be in awe of its beauty, placed so magnificently on the counter. You start to imagine what kind of items you would use it for.

But that moment is too far away. You think to yourself, do you even want to use it and contaminate the steel. You start to daydream about a YouTube show and putting these knives on full display. Prepping for a 5 star Michelin restraint.

You get a little more excited. You stand there for several more minutes with your eyes glued to the knife block. The eyes drying up because you haven’t blinked. Not wanting to blink because you know that you must soon snap back to reality.

Suddenly, your phone rings. Its your mom calling you about the knives because you sent her a picture just moments ago. You answer as you snap out of your trance. You take the knives and put them in its forever spot on the counter and tell yourself you’ll save that next phase for another day.

It’s already too much excitement for the day.

I have had this set for about a month. This is my first set of real knives. I reached my 5 year milestone from my company and it was between this Zwilling Gourmet 7 piece set or a JA Henckels International 14 piece set.

Although I really wanted the JA Henckels, I decided to go with the Zwilling because it was made in Germany. I’ve done my reviews and ultimately I’d rather have the better quality vs more knives. They say the 2 main knives you’re going to use really are the chef’s knife and the pairing knife most of the time anyways.

I’ll eventually get some steak knives later but at least I can piece my set how I want. The main thing was getting the Zwilling German Chef’s knife. It is really sharp, well balanced, and very high quality.

The block is also very nice as well. The only reason I gave this set a 4 and not a 5 is because I would’ve wished for a Santoku knife instead of the bread knife and instead of the 3″ vegetable knife (it already came with a pairing knife), maybe a 5″ utility serrated knife.

Lastly, the shears are made from China and not Germany. All these are not deal breakers. Very happy with my set.

This knife set is a replacement for an old wooden handled Chicago Cutlery set. I wanted to use these knives before giving a review and one month into owning these knives I am pleased with their performance.

They are stamped and not forged knifes and therefore are lightweight in the hand and very easy to use. The handles are comfortable and easy to maintain. The blades are so sharp that prepping vegatables and fruits seem effortless.

The array of different knives in this collection will fit any kitchen need. I find cut vegges/fruits do have a tendency to stick to the surface of the chef knife as others have mentioned. It’s not a deal breaker for me but if I was using the knife in a professional setting it may be a nuisance.

The steak knives have no serration on the blades but are plenty sharp and cut meat well. I do handwash my knives and they are all looking splendid after a month of moderate use.
