20 Best Kinesiology Tape For Sensitive Skin (2023 Updated)

The original KT Tape is awesome. Been using it for years, not sure if it’s always been this brand but I’m now 30 and have memories of using KT Tape all the way back in high school for certain remedies and athletic support.

This stuff is great for knee support when you’re trying to ratchet up your mileage for a marathon, or for other body parts when you’ve been knocked around a bit too much on the rugby or football pitch.

HOWEVER — be careful not to accidentally buy “Gentle” KT Tape, especially if you are male and have normal-male amounts of hair on your legs and arms. Even applied the night before, Gentle tape will fall right off — either overnight, or during your morning stretch.

My wife has similar, but slightly less severe, issues with the Gentle tape. We both love this regular KT tape. I’ve tried other brands and they just don’t measure up.

I had a terrible knee injury in February of 2020 in the gym and I was misdiagnosed by my sports med doctor. I dislocated my patella and my doctor told me that I just “sprained” my lateral meniscus. I couldn’t bear weight for 4 months but once I started walking I discovered KT Pro and started using it to help with the pain.

I’m a nurse and I needed to get back to work so I was willing to try anything. I run around at least 7 miles per shift and KT was the only thing that got me through the pain. A year later I decided to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get a second opinion and it turns out I had been walking around for an entire year with a completely severed MPFL and a grade 3 tear in my meniscus.

My surgeon said I was a walking miracle. I have KT to thank for that. I do have a terrible allergy to adhesive and that’s the only issue I’ve had with the tape. It gives me terrible rashes but it’s well worth it in my opinion and if you don’t have an allergy, you don’t have anything to worry about.

I had reconstructive surgery in February of this year and I’ve continued to use it through my recovery. 100% recommend this product and stay away from the dupes. This stuff is the real deal.

Kay, 100% that’s not the best picture. But seriously I was in agony with an anterior shin splint from overtraining. NSAIDs, rest and ice just weren’t cutting it. Decided to give this a shot. I bought the tape at Shoppers Drug Mart and then watched the YouTube video on how to apply this.

I would say the taping gave me about a 60% reduction in the pain I was experiencing. This product is worth every dollar. Only thing I would do differently next time is buy the “pro” line.

They say money can’t buy happiness, but for such a small price, it can buy KT Tape. The comfort of KT tape is like a warm towel after a cold shower, or a baby soundly snoozing in its mother’s arms, KT tape being the mother’s arms.

I couldn’t go a day without KT tape. KT tape makes my world go around. I would go as far to say KT tape is my sole source of happiness. Putting KT tape on is a euphoric experience. I’ve been using KT tape for years, seeing it or hearing its name fills me with the same joy and endearment you’d feel reconnecting with your childhood best friend.

I’m constantly rendered speechless whenever my debilitating pain is instantly alleviated by a single application of this miracle tape. It leaves me in awe to this day. KT Tape Pro is my personal favorite.

From neck to toe, my pain is always relieved by KT tape. When I had shin splints to the point where I could hardly stand up without crying, KT tape wiped my tears, gave me a warm, loving embrace, and provided so much relief that not only could I walk, I could run up and down stairs if I wanted to.

I also have sciatica pain that would be crippling if I didn’t have KT tape over it at all times. I use KT Tape on my achilles tendon, tendinous sheaths, plantar fasciitis, shoulder, knees, neck, and entire back.

I would hardly be able to get out of bed without KT tape holding me together, wiping my tears and eliminating my chronic pain. I suggest KT Tape pro. I can easily make one application last at least 10 days when I use KT Tape Pro (after using alcohol wipes to thoroughly clean the spot, also don’t forget to rub the tape after putting it on to heat up the adhesive so it can adhere best and last the longest:).

It’s hard finding proper splints, Ace bandages work but slide. But KT Tape, is awesome. I’ve been using this brand for YEARS. I even bring/wear it to PT where they had me do a comparison to the different kinds they use!! What they use, does NOT compare to this.

(I’ve only had one other phys therapist with good tape, 15ish years ago, & no clue what brand). They say this stays on for 7 days, to me, that’s minimum (depending on activity). Double knee surgery, surgery on both wrists, osteoarthritis, and EDS.

this tape covers it ALL. I would literally be lost without it. I use it on my mom’s calves/ankles/feet to stabilize/correct muscle & the soft tissue placement allowing strengthening. Without this, she wouldn’t be able to walk & would be in more pain.

As for waterproof, don’t expect to sit a pool/ocean for hours everyday & it stay perfect. Exercise (so sweat!), showers, washing hands, etc, you should get at LEAST 5-7 days. I’ve had it last almost 2 weeks & can last that long on mom but usually less movement.

Achilles tendonitis had been hindering my training for upcoming road races. I was able to hobble through my schedule, but by race weekend I was doubting how well I would perform on a 10-miler. I attended the pre-race Expo the day before my race, and talked with KT Tape representatives.

I told them of my issue, and also told them I was a non-believer when it came to KT Tape. However, they offered to tape my ankle for me while I was there, and the told me by the end of my race I would be a believer.

At that point, I had nothing to lose and agreed to try the tape. Well, the race went as well as it could have given my reduced training, but the best part was that my Achilles problem was a non-issue that day.

I loved this tape! First off they sent it out to me very promptly, which I appreciated. I know that they do not promote using this tape on your belly for pregnancy, but that is what I bought it for. I was having such horrible stretching on my bellybutton and the surrounding area.

My stomach was so tight and stretched that I was loosing sensation on my skin throughout my abdomen from my nerves underneath being stretched so much. I had constant burning pain and I was desperate for some relief.

I have been taping up my abdomen for about 3 1/2 weeks now and I am so much better!! The constant burning pain is gone and I am getting my sensation back on my skin. I did some research and watched a bunch of Youtube videos to make sure that I was putting it on correctly.

I did not want to do anything wrong. I also told my OB Physician about what I was doing and she was very supportive of the idea. I am actually going to buy a couple more rolls to get me through this pregnancy.

This was such a life saver. I would completely recommend this product. It stays on for the entire week just like they say that it does.

Tape is easy to apply and tears off easily so no need for scissors. Once applied, remains firmly in place and provides the necessary ankle support during soccer training and matches. Easy to remove without the feeling of your skin getting ripped off too.

Incredible product, I use on my feet before indoor matches. Tape is firm, strong and rips with ease. Keeps my toes bilister free. Affordible price for a premium product. Highly reccomend

I used this tape after i sprained my ankle to prevent from over extending my ankle and possibly damaging the muscle even more, the material is very stretchable and form fitting, can be used to tape pretty much any muscle or joint injury.

Economical way to purchase this tape, as I use it to help and support my arthritic knees. Good quality and the dispenser makes it very easy to use, with no waste.

Liked that these are already nicely cut and that they blend in with my flesh/skin. The bright blue tape I already have really stands out, so this is very welcome so as not to be as noticeable. Guess it would be nice if it were offered in all skin colors so everybody could say this too.

I still have not really figured out how the designs on the tape equate to proper support, but think I can do this on my own pretty well. The price is good too. And I am elderly with very thin skin, so I make sure I have used sufficient lotion way before applying the tape so it sinks in before using the tape to help my skin along, or rather when it is time to take the tape off.

These are my go to for my workouts. I have a huge damaged knee( all my muscles ans tendins have been stitched inside) and I don’t like wearing a brace. This tape was the comprised I made with my trainer for not wearing a brace.

Love that I can wear it up to 3 days.

This has a been life saver. I no longer need to wear a knee brace while exercising because the theraband tape works so well. I am also a very sweaty person and this tape doesn’t budge. I’m so pleased.

This tape is great. I react to a lot of the other makes, but not this one, so good for sensitive skin. It lasts for up to 4 days I’d say before you have change it. Even when it gets wet it dries out perfectly.

I use it for trail running so it gets put through it’s paces.

This is the best kenesiology tape on the market. Stays on for days if you put it on when you are completely dry and an hour or so before you play sport. If you do that it can stay on for up to a week.

Even on the hottest days and even when you have a long soak in the tub. Also, it’s a good idea to round the corners with a pair of scissors on each strip as this will prevent the corners snagging and coming up.

Don’t waste your money on anything else. I’ve tried the rest, this is the best.

Bought to keep my Freestyle Libre sensor in my arm. Tried what feels like 100 different things and this is the first that actually works!! Would highly recommend to fellow Libre users. Very impressed.

I was able to get the hard to find “wide” KT Tape. It works much better for some injuries. BTW, Checkout was a snap and delivery was almost as fast!

I bought for my daughter, who pulled her back in a volleyball match. While on the mend, this was suggested to help ease into the return. She liked how it felt and held to her back well.

Have used KT tape on calves for run workouts and cyclocross on my 68 yuear old legs. The wider tape seems to work even better. A little hard to put on, so take your time to get on smoothly. Will get it again.

I have used different tape for a long time now trying different ones some cheap and some dearer and I think this has no sticking ability compared to cheaper versions its quite expensive for what you get for your money I got 9 strips for over ten pounds I use 3 at a time on my ankle and it lasts no longer than the cheaper ones its off the next day.

Do your homework on these tapes before you buy.

My mom was curious and tried it. It’s helped her a lot. I’m waiting to try this until I need it. I’ve been injured less during COVID but hoping it’ll have the same magic

When you need this tape every day, the true KT tape is much better than the cheaper versions. I like how easy it is to apply the strips.

Works great and as good as other brands. It’s a solid role, so you can cut to the right size vs the pre-cut strips. I’ve used it for intense workouts and it sticks well so long as you make sure your skin is clean before applying.

I wipe the area with rubbing alcohol before applying, and it was still sticking for five days after exercising, showers, etc.

Works great. Stays on even if it gets wet several times. I use it on my hands and I wash them often. Not too tight but just the right amount of elastic. Comes of nicely when you want it to.

This is my second support tape I’ve used and this make was not as effective as my first. Tape is slightly thinner and adhesion was not as effective. First product I used lasted 3 days with ease, through showers, swiming in sea and physical excercise.

This product was did not adhere as well or last.

I have been using KT tape for over a year for support of my repaired torn posterior tibial tendon on my left foot. It is amazing how well it supports my foot and nice it is to not have to wear a bulky and cumbersome foot brace all the time.

My only complaint is that I have bought several different rolls of tape that have not been adhesive to my skin. I wanted to get different colors(I’m a diva) and also I wanted to try the pro tape to see if the support was different.

The pro tape does not adhere at all. even when I use alcohol to prep the skin first. Just peeling the backing off the tape you can tell the adhesive is not very tacky. I have bought at least 4 rolls of tape like this, both the original and pro tape.

I have found that the original tape works best as far as adhesion and staying longest. I can usually keep mine on for at least a day and a half to two days if I am not sweating or in water. Over all I love the KT tape.

Just wish it wasn’t hit or miss with the adhesion.

I bought this two weeks ago for my son, who needs some shoulder support. I love the instructions, the videos on the applications and the ease of the application itself. However, then the problems started.

The cloth tape will not stay on more than one day. It immediately begins coming off during his workouts. I followed all of the video instructions to the letter. I have even had him use alcohol to clean or prep the areas.

The shoulder pieces, at the edges. just will not stick and he ends up having to remove the tape during his lifting or practice. This happens no matter which shoulder application that we choose to use.

The most disconcerting thing is whenever we applied the tape on a lift free day and the tape started coming loose by that evening. Anyway, I haven’t given up yet. We’re going to spend a little extra this time, use the synthetic and see how that goes.

For synthetic tapes I’ve tried Nordic Lifting tape and this, they both stick better than cotton tapes. Overpriced but effective for both. I’d rate these as 10’s for sticking and the various cotton tapes I’ve used from 2 to 8.

The one cotton tape to rate 8 is Spartan Tape. I’m now using it as base steps and use the synthetic for final top pieces. This allows sleeping at night without the tape rolling to badly, wearing socks solves the problem but it’s thankfully unnecessary with synthetics.

As a fibromyalgia sufferer there was concern that anything other than a natural fiber cotton or silk next to the skin would be intolerable but that is not the case so far. I’ve been wearing the synthetics for over a month with no problem, but that is without a major flair up yet of the fibro.

I’m curious to see how it feels then. Not that I want to find out.

I have worked as a high school athletic trainer for almost 3 years now and when I first started, I wasn’t a fan of KT tape. I’m still not 100% convinced it will do everything it claims but I will say that my athletes absolutely LOVE the shin splints taping I’ve learned.

It’s the perfect amount of tape and doesn’t get in the way of sports equipment. I personally don’t like the pre-cut pieces because my athletes are all different sizes and I tend to waste a lot.

This tape works miracles. Whether you have a sports injury or just aches and pains from life or work, a few strips of tape work wonders. I use this for sports injuries, but I also use it for other things.

Working with computers, my shoulders tend to ache from constantly looking down, I use a few strips of tape and the difference is immediate. All of a sudden, no more shoulder pain and it helps improve my posture.

I always stock up if I see it on sale at CVS. I wish they were reusable, but maybe at some point they will be.

Im very new to the methods kinseio taping. This is perfect for beginning. It does say on the box it is water resistant. Its not. If you try to bathe with it on it will come off. Tape generally lasts 2 or 3 days on dry skin.

I like how different colors are available. I highly recommend this product if you are looking to try Kinesio taping.

I was happy that I could purchase this tape from your company. As it is a big help with my pain on my left wrist due to inflammation of my wrist. It is easy to put on and easy to remove. I am relieved that I have use of this tape.

Not knowing which would be the best of the many Kenesio tape products, I ordered three different brands. Of all of them, Kenesio Gold Tex Finger Print Revolution held up the best. One brand, applied exactly as the others, came off after two hours.

Another brand frayed and began to peel off after just three days. I might add that I wear the tape during water aerobics and while showering. Kenesio is truly waterproof, unlike the others that – at best – are water resistant.

This is definitely the best I’ve tried and I highly recommend it.

This tape works perfect, but together with straightes. I use it after my 45 years artritis history. Many times doctors recommended me to make the surgeries. And I know not very seccesful results. I make my exercise every day and change my tape once a week.

You will be surprised, but it works. I am 70 years age. For 11. 68 I began to sleep every night. Trust me.

The person who invented KT tape should win the Nobel Prize! This stuff is amazing. I fell on the last of my basement stairs and injured my shoulder. Wasn’t about to go to the doctor so I checked online how to tape a shoulder injury.

It was instant relief! I like the black one for more support and longer lasting, but it will rip the hide right off of you! The beige one lasts about 3 or 4 days and isn’t quite as bad to remove. I keep both on hand depending where they’re needed.

Used them on my knees and low back. When I get down to one box of each, then I get on Ebay and order more.

I’ve been using this product for several years and it gives excellent results when utilized correctly. Rapid rehab of acute injuries, pain,edema relief and retraining of muscles. I recommend taking the class from the original group of instructors.

I’ve heard and seen other instructors who teach that it doesn’t work or use it incorrectly and there has been an increase of copycat products. My only complaint is that when they changed the adhesive, I had to decrease the length of time of tape wear to reduce skin reactions such as redness and welting.

I recently was informed that applying maalox,mylanta or peptobismol to the skin,allowing it to dry before tape application was helpful. I’ve tried it and it works.

The edges of the tape come loose after about a half a day and start flapping in the wind. The bulk of the tape stays on until the second day. Towards the end of second day, I have to remove all the tape.

It does feel like it’s helping the pain somewhat but the fact that it comes off so quickly means I go through a lot of it. .

This product is amazing , it applies a sense of relief and small pressure to cure tensions between muscle strains. It helped me a lot with my runing, I have what you call a flat foot and it would hurt when I ran or would wear too much heels so before working out I would use the tape at the bottom of my foot and wrap at the top creating an arch so my foot wouldn’t hurt! It’s amazing.

I recommend this product to flat footed people who run , it worked for me for that specific purpose I promise it’ll work for you. But also I have see a lot of softball/baseball players use it around their shoulders and they have also recommended this product for muscle strain/soreness.

This product is an adhesive tape that does not peel off so easily so be careful when peeling off. It does by pass sweat which is amazing. Once again I would recommend this therapeutic tape.

I was in a car accident about 7 years ago that left me with pins & screws in my heel & knee. After 3 surgeries & 6 months of physical therapy Dr’s deemed I was as good as I was going to get so I was basically left to figure out how to get back to 100% on my own.

I bought every knee & ankle/heel brace known to man & they either slip & dont stay in place so I was constantly having to adjust it or they were too tight & making me swell and there was ALWAYS still some level of discomfort.

Then I discovered the KT Tape. I did a ton of research & read reviews & watch videos and finally decided to give it a trial run. Figured worst case I was out $20. After all of my research I figured out the best way for me to tape up & it literally worked instantly.

I was hooked from that very first use & used it daily. After about 3 months I noticed I didn’t hurt as much even not wearing the tape. I’ve gotten to the point now (after about a year of using the tape) that I only need it for workouts.

This tape works SOOOO much better than any brace, it stays where I put it & if I swell while wearing it then it expands too and doesn’t cause more discomfort like most of the braces i’ve tried. This is by far the best product I’ve found & recommend it to everyone.

Have tried both the Pro tape and Extreme tape and neither one will stay attached to my shoulder. My wife used the videos on the KT website to learn how to apply the tape and following the instructions almost immediately two of the pieces of tape came loose.

She even tried to hold them down with an extra piece of tape wrapped around my bicep but by morning the two pieces had come loose again after pulling out from under the piece wrapped around my bicep.

This tape is not worth the price. I like what it can do if it will stay but it has not yet stayed for very long. I am not even talking about showering with it or anything it just came loose minutes after it was applied.

My arm was clean and had no hair on it so I don’t know why it will not stay. We switched to the extreme hoping it would work better and it did not. I cannot recomend this product. I actually have emailed KT to voice my displeasure.

I use this to tape places where I’m prone to chafing during long runs or hikes. I have a sensitive skin, and I’m allergic to a lot of alternatives, but not to this tape. The extreme version makes it stay in place, even with very heavy sweating.

I’m glad to see altitude sport carrying it now!.

I have used the leading brand name for kinesio tape for years. I thought I would try to save money and try an off brand. Boy was I surprised! There is no discernible difference between THERAPISTS CHOICE kinesio tape and the leading manufacturer other than the packaging.

This is the only tape I use and I use it 365 days a year for a crippled shoulder. This product is a tremendous value and performs every bit as well as the name brand stuff. Love it!!!.

I have been very impressed with quality and price. I use kinesiotspe as a lymphatic tool. My patients find it helps as well.
