20 Best Keyboard For Ipad 6Th Generation (2023 Updated)

Pros: Deceptively small. This keyboard is only about 1. 5 inches wider than my Ipad Air 3, yet the keys are full sized. Love the function buttons along the top for controlling music, locking, etc. The keys have decent travel.

Feels solid. Cons: There is no power pass through, so you need to chose between keyboard use and device charging. This means you will be frequently plugging and unplugging the keyboard. Which is a significant hassle, and will wear out the keyboard’s cable and plug.

There is no lightning splitter that I have found that would allow simultaneous keyboard use and device charging; all the lightning splitters available just work for headphones. When the permanently attached cable goes bad, the whole keyboard will be going in the trash.

Which will almost certainly happen eventually. The keyboard sits totally flat with no tilt adjustment. To fix that I attached it to two rubber doorstops with double sided tape, to give it more of an angle for comfortable typing.

Sure “feels” rugged when you first pick it up. And when I got it and tried it out, it worked fine. But today, ready to finally get to work on my project, nothing. Doesn’t work on my iPad 8th Gen or my phone.

No matter how I fiddle with the settings. No matter how many online solutions I find and try. Dead. Caput. Nothing. So much for plug n’ play, ya’ll.

I purchased this to take along on vacations so I could journal (and ultimately blog) about my journeys. The first test was just completed: a 2-week cruise around Alaska (Ketchikan, Endicott Arm, Juneau, Hoonah, Anchorage, Kodiak, Homer, and Sitka).

I wanted a full-sized keyboard, portable, and easy to manage that would work with my iPad Pro. I chose this for the size, the fact that it is powered via my iPad (rather than needing to be charged), and the fact that it’s a wired connection via the lightning cable rather than Bluetooth.

Nothing against Bluetooth, but not having to deal with pairing simplifies things a lot. This performed beautifully! Connected easily, and no problems at all with performance. It has some nifty shortcuts, many I didn’t use, but at least they’re available.

Despite being a full-size keyboard, the small size means I can tuck this into my carryon along with other necessities and it doesn’t take up much space at all. It’s durable, too — the wire connector appears to be sturdy.

I used this a couple of times per day to record events and activities, so it was in and out of my bag often. No problems at all. It’s coming along on my next adventure: a cruise around the North Atlantic (including Greenland, Iceland, and Norway) for 6 weeks.

Its bulkier then the Bluetooth keyboards and is actually a bit bigger then what i expected. But it doesn’t need charging and can be used easily when one needs to type. I also like the fact that we can switch between Apple devices in the house.

I just couldn’t find a comfortable Bluetooth keyboard thatbwas detachable. I didn’t want to drag a keyboard with me always and didn’t want the cover to make the iPad bulky which is what all the other keyboards do.

The only one Blok from Logi was great but was a nightmare to put iPad in the case. I was afraid I’ll break the ipad. So this one is a decent option. I keep the current comoact case that i like and can use keyboard when i need/want.

The only thing is ipad needs to be charged since keyboard pluggs into the charging port.

It’s pretty obvious by looking at the keyboard that it would not be a device that would be sleek to transport. I love it for the classroom as many students have different case sizes (or no case at all) and the stand is perfect for that.

I think a lower rating of the device when it is clearly not intended to be a device that you carry around (like a connected case/keyboard) is more of a user preference issue and not a fault of the design or quality of the product.

You buy it for the added benefit of the stand. If not, you need to be more mindful of your purchase choice.

I like the hard cover. I got the rose gold, very pretty. Some applications don’t use both portrait and landscape, so I have to tilt unit so that is awkward. Sometimes keyboard keys delay in working on the iPad, another negative.

I do like the fact I can sit it in my lap and not have to hold the iPad, huge positive. Overall I like it. 4 stars for the few negatives.

Keyboard and track pad functions very smoothly. The swivel for the Tablet is very sturdy but moves with minimal effort. My only complaint is with the supplier. I ordered 2 of them. They shipped individually, and they used the same tracking info for both cases.

I was looking for a keyboard shell to write my books in bed since I’m always using an ipad now (when I’m noy gaming) and came across this one. It had backlighting, a trackpad and can rotate 360 degrees so I can read/watch TV.

Holds my ipad 8 really well. Lights work, pairs well, looks good for plastic/resin shell. The trackpad works just not like a normal mouse as you still need to touch the screen on occasion. I can’t speak for the longevity as I’ve only had it for a day but I hope it lasts for a while.

Overall, I think it’s a great case for the price for anyone looking for a versatile case, especially writers.

The title pretty much covers it. It was amazing and worked beautifully until it didn’t. The battery died after a full day of use and after a full night of charging I turned it back on only to have all of the lights turn right back off and all keys become unresponsive.

The touch pad and the down key oddly work though. So far tech support has been less than useless so I guess I’m just gonna have to chalk this up to a hundred dollar loss. Really annoying.

The on/off screen switch sets in upper left hand side of screen surrounded by a very fragile hole framework where a thin plastic pillar which is part of it always breaks and this has been for every Focus keyboard case for the iPad Mini 4 I have every owned.

It is a design flaw the logitech is well aware of. It has already broke on my newest purchase.

Obviously this is a great value and you get what you pay for. The keyboard came dirty with some scratches on it. Did not look new at all. Could not be cleaned off. Other than that, it works fine and a great deal.

Ordered late Monday evening arrived perfectly wrapped the following day! Feels very light yet very sturdy and holds my brand new ipad securely. Connected to my Bluetooth with ease and powers down the iPad when closed.

The case does not add any real noticeable weight to the iPad. Ive had it less than a day however – Excellent early impressions!.

Product is nice and slim and fits my iPad mini perfectly Bluetooth connection is immediate. My only issue is that the Y and X keys on the keyboard are transposed so if you press Z you get Y etc. Not a major problem if you remember when typing.

I love this keyboard case. It has a lighted keyboard. The keys are responsive. It holds a charge for over a month. It also is flexible for viewing at different angles. It is truly the best value keyboard cover.

The only issue I have is that my hands are big and I end up hitting the touchpad and it causes my cursor to move while I’m typing.

What I also needed was a lightweight keyboard along with a compatible mouse. Thus I decided on the Apple Magic Keyboard that was designed for the iPad Pro 9. 7. Pros: I ordered the keyboard new and it is perfect for my needs.

Lightweight, powered by the tablet and it worked right out of the box. It is indeed small, but so is the tablet. It fits the airline dropdown tray without hanging over the edge so you can type without feeling penned it or cramped.

The keyboard folds up nicely to protect the keypads when you just want to use the tablet standalone. Cons: Since the keyboard is small and lightweight, the keyboard weight allows the keyboard/tablet combination will tip over easily.

Typing fast will cause the keyboard/tablet to shake, which is annoying. Finally, you will need to buy aa Apple mouse for anything other than watching movies or working with Office applications.

What I liked about this Apple Smart Keyboard Folio: I like that it’s light and compact. I like that it protects the ipad when closed up, and stands up nicely when the pad is put into place for reading or typing.

I like the reasonable price I paid buying this brand new one through the Walmart webpage. What I didn’t like quite as much: This is the 8th pad I have purchased for my 4th generation IPad Pro, and the first 7 I had to return for a refund because I simply couldn’t use any of them because ALL of them had keys that stuck or wouldn’t type at all! I purchase every name keyboard, from the most expensive to the cheapest, from used to brand new.

Ive had Bluetooth keyboards in the past, but invariably, every time I go to use them, the battery has run out. Enter the Smart Folio Keyboard. With the smart connector that draws power from the iPad its always ready to go.

The keyboard itself has a nice action, and its surprisingly slim when closed and easy to remove due to the magnetic attachment. It also works quite well typing on your lap. 4 start out of 5 as I wish it had dedicated shortcut keys.

Yes, if you hold down the command key, a dialog box pops up showing a list of keyboard shortcuts, but Id still rather have some dedicated shortcut keys. Also, this model, unlike the magic keyboard doesnt have a trackpad, but it can be found much cheaper than the magic keyboard.

It a worthwhile sacrifice considering the price difference.

My friend’s been in a large assisted living facility for two years, and his old iPad has been slowing way down so he requested that I pick up a new base iPad and set it up for him. So I stopped by on my way home that Friday (7-15-22) and bought an iPad 9th Gen with this keyboard folio, since I’d told him that if he decided he didn’t want it, I’d keep it for my own use (traveling, possibly mixing sound remotely with the 32-channel digital mixing console at church, among others, and my kids will be thrilled that Dad’s joining their iOS community).

Friday (7-22-22), I took it along as Doc stops by on his way home from work weekly. I found the old iPad he was given is an iPad Air of late 2013-early 2014, Doc checked and the network Wi-Fi was so slo-o-ow that while Doc cleared several years of browser history and other files, I pulled up several large real estate photo galleries on the new iPad with keyboard, handed it to him and he was hugely pleased.

So on my walk home I picked up a second of this iPad and folio to “set it up the same way yours is!” This Android guy is now going to set up a completely analog guy with the digital Apple world instruction to set up his own system, with his own Apple ID and more, since the friend that gave him this old iPad would not divulge the Apple ID for it.

I’ve been using this keyboard/case for several years. It was a replacement for a heavier, hardshell product which needed to be recharged after only 4 hours of use. Using replaceable batteries is the main reason for my purchase.

It isn’t comfy to hold in its laptop form, but flipping to tablet mode is easy. Then when flipping to close, sometimes I don’t raise it high enough to clear the Bluetooth connectors and its magnets engage — a minor gripe.

The keys are cramped compared to a full-size keyboard, but that is to be expected. No backlighting with the keys, but the keystroke and key feel is acceptable. I’m still glad I found and bought this keyboard/case.

I have been a Logitech accessory fan for about 25 years based on their quality and longevity.

I bought the Slim Folio Pro for my iPad Pro 2020 at the recommendation of a respected industry colleague who had the Apple case. In short, he recommended the Slim Folio Pro, instead, because it holds the Apple Pencil 2 more securely than the Apple case since it has a flap to protect the Pencil, especially when carrying it in a bag.

I use this with the Apple Pencil 2 and the iPad/Pencil/Folio trio seemed to be made perfectly for one another. I never thought I would use a mobile device to replace a laptop, but I’ve used this more often than not in lieu of a laptop at customer datacenters as well as my own sites.

I use it to take notes in meetings, now, and the keyboard is sooooo smooth (tactile feedback as well as key arrangement) that I can easily type as fast as I do on my full-size keyboard for my laptop (and I type at least as fast as I can read).

This keyboard/case has *definitely* been a game changer. Battery life is staggering. I can’t even estimate it. I charged it when I got it 7 months ago. I charged once shortly after that because I wondered if it was getting low (it wasn’t).

I’m so used to charging my electronics on an almost daily basis, at least, that it took some getting used to. I actually got online, today, to see if it might be charging wirelessly from the iPad, but apparently it just has an incredible battery life.

Keep in mind that I use my keyboard A LOT, even as a convenient landscape orientation stand on my desk when I’ve got my iPad open watching for notifications or playing media or just using my iPad. It automatically saves battery when it’s not magnetically attached to the iPad which is the only way I can imagine that it accomplishes this.

However, I still have it open and have the iPad magnetically mounted to it a lot, so it’s still very impressive to me. Apparently, it can be charged from the iPad using a USB-C to USB-C cable, but I haven’t had a need to try that.

Also, apparently, the light changes to a color other than green or white when the battery is low and other users have stated that it still has enough juice to keep them going until they get to a charger.

My only complaints would be that: (1) I wish there was a more comfortable way to use the camera with the case on. There might be a good way, but I haven’t figured it out. (2) I wish there was a way to monitor the battery life from the iPad.

As I stated, earlier, the battery life is incredible, but just how far am I from getting low? (3) I wish there was a way to use the case as a stand in portrait orientation. (4) I wish there was an Escape key so that I don’t accidentally exit my SSH application (Termius) when I’m editing a file on a server.

I can switch back to the application with no harm done, but it’s habit and slightly annoying. (5) I wish Roblox would let me play games on my portable device using the keyboard, but the Roblox app doesn’t really seem to expect there to be a functional keyboard attached.

Not Apple or Logitech’s fault, but I see potential for better game play if Roblox would add this to their app. :).

Minus one star because documentation with it suggests it is from 2015. This is an issue because I ordered a different keyboard that turned out to be from 2008, and its battery would not take a charge.

When seeking assistance for that product, I was told it was at end-of-life. Thus far, this keyboard works, and appears to work well. Just buyer beware, this is not a recent product. That said, about the product in particular: I wanted the German layout, but the Swiss layout will suffice.

With it, I am able to access and explore the many international characters available to the iPad. German and Swiss French are close enough in keyboard layout that this keyboard is easily used for typing both German and French.

Background information: Switzerland has four official languages, German, French, Italian, and Romansch. This keyboard was designed for all four languages. I also find that it can be used for Spanish.

Great portable keyboard for use with my ipad. I have seen reviews where others did not like the feel of this keyboard because of the thin protective skin that covers and protects it. I actually like the feel of the keyboard and how the keys respond to touch.

It is virtually weightless, flat, and small yet providing a comfortable, full size key placement feel. I bought this for an upcoming international trip. I am tired of lugging a laptop with me when I travel and it appears the Keys to Go with my ipad is the perfect solution to meet my internet needs.

The item description did not mention the included iphone stand. Pease note the Iphone stand is included. This is the same product sold on the Apple website for $70. Make no mistake as this is not a replacement for a standard size laptop and it is not a keyboard I would want to be typing on for hours to write long papers.

Logitech is the brand that I buy my keyboards from because they are excellent. I have never had any issues with any keyboards that I’ve gotten. However, this keyboard. I was a bit disappointed. I love that the keyboard was extremely convenient in terms of packing the computer in bags.

It is quite compactable. The issue is the keys. It is hard to type on especially for advanced keyists or typers. I type super fast, and I kept stumbling over the wrong keys because the keys don’t have physical definition to separate them.

Love the keyboard folio for the iPad Mini 6th Generation. I received it and was curious how to sync it with my iPad Mini. I checked you tube for video pairing instructions. Didn’t see a video. Emailed Sahara and heard back pronto.

Needed a case as soon as possible when getting the new tablet. Did not want to take any chances with clumsy hands. This was the fast one I could get and overall I was not impressed. It did not seem like it has adequate protection and the keyboard set up and light combo was nothing special.

For the price it is crazy, there are higher quality, more color options and better protection case combos for a third of the price.

The keyboard works really well for people who touch type on a normal sized keyboard. It’s a little smaller and some adjustments need to be made, but it is an easy transition. The case is cute and the keyboard folds up inside.

This was a gift for Christmas and have only used it a few days. It’s seems to be good quality and I love having an actual keyboard for the ipad! The keyboard has an on/off button so you can conserve the battery.

The backlit keys are extremely handy when you’re working at night and don’t want to disturb others. There are five adjustable levels to suit everyones requirements. The keyboard itself is very easy to type into as the keys are not crammed together and offer a smooth and fluid typing experience.

It charges directly through the iPad so theres no need for an external charger and is fully detachable. The kickstand can be tilted quite a bit to find the perfect angle to keep the iPad standing. The mechanical hinge keeps it in place and does not let it collapse.

A very good alternative to Apple’s official magic keyboard, in fact, a much better alternative especially if you share your precious iPad to your clumsy children as it is built to protect your device from bumps and fall.

It’s nof only protecting the front and back but the sides too. It’s got a nice fabric feel, easy to wipe clean and very professional looking and colour too. I love that it easily and automatically turns my ipad into a laptop with the lit-up keyboard and track pad without having to fiddle on the settings to connect it.

It’s so comfortable to use like a real-deal laptop. So versatile-the tablet viewing angle can also be adjusted with the built-in kick-stand. The stylus/pen holder is a nice feature too and ready for when we buy one.

I guess it’s meant to be a permanent case as it’s an effort to take the ipad out from the bumper that’s protecting it when you just want to use the tablet without the folio/keyboard so it’s not a “grab and go” thing like the Apple’s Magic Keyboard.

But it’s not a big deal in the house as I’d rather have the protective case all the time as I am sharing it with my clumsy 5-year old who uses it for online learning too. my kids very happy.

Very impressed with this. The keyboard feels unexpectedly solid and sturdy to type on- much like a regular Mac magic keyboard If I’m honest. The iPad side of it is held in place with a strong magnet that locks it into position and is held very securely.

It’s not so great for typing on your knee like a regular laptop as it’s back/heavy, but on a flat surface (even a lap tray) it’s very stable. You basically just flip it open and the whole thing works straight away- no waiting for it to link up or anything.

And the screen powers off automatically when you close it. It’s also constructed so there is a gap between keyboard and screen when it’s closed so you won’t cause wear and tear on the touch screen. The pen holder is a loop of vinyl which also accommodates the Logitech Mac Crayon.

Doesn’t seem flimsy though so hopefully that should hold up. Altogether I’m really impressed. Especially as there’s a dedicated home button on the keyboard which makes it feel and work like a touch-screen laptop.

I purchased this keyboard ~1 year ago when I started a new job, that required me to do most of my notes/documentation on an older iPad. The company I worked for gave me several cheap Amazon keyboards, which fell apart easily, were not reliable (connectivity issues), and just overall glitchy.

My job requires me to do a significant amount of documentation quickly, efficiently throughout a long day (8-10hrs), so battery life and reliability was very important to me. So far, I never had issues with connectivity, and with using this keyboard daily, I get at least a good 2-3 weeks of battery before each full charge (it actually never died on me before).

The keys function much like a real laptop, and the weight with the open/close feature at the hinge really made my work iPad feel like a laptop. My job made a slight upgrade and gave me an iPad Pro instead, and the old shims for this keyboard did not fit (thickness wise).

I reached out to customer support and wondered if another shim would available, as I really love my keyboard as is. Within such a timely manner, they responded, shipped me new shims free of charge, and I just placed them on— and they fit PERFECT! Now I can continue to use this keyboard just as I intend to.

I absolutely love it and have recommended it to many of my co-workers and other professionals in my field who also have to rely on iPads for their work. Many of them argue about the price-point, but honestly— for how seamless this device works and how easy it has made my overall day-to-day work, the price-point is definitely worth it.

Should I ever have to upgrade to a new keyboard, I will definitely be purchasing again with Brydge.

I went for the works (nearly) and got the Brydge keyboard, iPad 9. 7″ case, and 11″ leather organizer. The keyboard is comfortable and easy to type on compared to other bluetooth tablet keyboards I’ve used.

The key presses are appropriately firm and have enough key travel to make typing similar to what I would get from a laptop keyboard. The keyboard hinges are strong enough to keep the iPad from slowly leaning backwards or forwards on its own due to its own weight, but the hinges are not too tight/strong to make me worried I’ll damage my iPad with opening and closing.

The grips on the hinge also seem to hold the iPad tightly, but it’s not hard to remove the iPad from the case or reattach it. My only criticism is, and this was something documented on the Brydge website, so I knew about it going in, I would love the hinge to swing around a full 360 degrees, like the iPad Pro keyboard hinge, instead of the 180 degrees with the 9.

7″ iPad keyboard. I’d love to not need to pull my tablet off of the keyboard to hold my iPad like a tablet when desired. That’s not a big deal, but perhaps just something I’d love to see in a future iteration of this keyboard.

Otherwise, the keyboard and build quality is amazing. I feel like I’m holding a mini macbook pro when using my iPad with this keyboard! The protective hardshell case isn’t too big or bulky, but still gives me confidence that my iPad is protected if I were to drop it.

The buttons recess enough into the sides of the case so they don’t get damaged if the iPad were to drop, but you do have to press your finger finger into the button gaps a little further than you would expect to press the power or volume buttons.

I’m still able to press the buttons fine, but it was something that took some getting used to. As for the 11″ organizer. it’s beautiful. I love carrying around my iPad and brydge keyboard in this thing.

It’s so well padded that I would feel no fear dropping my organizer, with iPad and keyboard inside, on the ground. I won’t deliberately be doing that, of course, but I’m VERY confident that my iPad would be just fine.

There is also a little loop in the leather organizer that lets me put my Apple Pencil in the case. However, the position of the pen/pencil loop is a little awkward. When you close the organizer, the pencil gets smooshed against the compartment that holds the iPad.

I would like to see the pencil loop moved to the spine of the organizer, or have a gap carved out for the pencil, in future iterations to prevent any damage to the iPad or Apple Pencil. I’ve also noticed that, when the iPad is docked with the keyboard, the fit is a bit too snug in the organizer.

Don’t get me wrong, it fits, and it’s not too hard to get the iPad and keyboard out, but it does seem more snug than it should be. It almost makes me feel like I’m not supposed to be fitting both in the organizer at the same time.

While not perfect, these accessories are about as close to perfect as I would expect/need to be fully happy with my purchase. I’ll definitely be buying from Brydge again! :).

First of all, I’m very visually impaired. and have to use the Voiceover screenreader. Now with that said, This product wasn’t what I had visualized or expected based on the description. Nevertheless, It is SO SO much better than my previous Folio keyboard.

This product sure is built/made very sturdy (Not out of plastic like my last one or lie many other iPad keyboards) I love the metal hinges. (Much better than my last one. It was plastic and broke a part and I had to do a warranty claim).

The hinge description is what confused me and I had visualized something totally different. I didn’t understand it was 2 seperate hinges with out a back cover for my iPad like how most are made. Nevertheless with that misunderstanding, The hinges are GREAT at holding my iPad very stable (My iPad doesn’t flex or move any when I tap the screen like my other one).

I’m not worried about the hinges wearing out anytime soon. I am impressed with the overall quality of this product and worth the price (Funny thing is this product cost the same as my other folio but, BETTER quality).

I only have a few little complaints. One is the keyboard doesn’t seem to want to keep up with me while typing (Skips a few letter’s here and there. The other folio keyboard I had did as well. Could just be me).

The second little issue is, The rubber shims are a little difficult or a challenge to get all the way down into the hinges (Little more of a challenge when you can’t see) but, Once they are in you are good to go.

My last little issue would be that I miss some of my iOs keys the other folio keyboard had (Siri, lock, mute, and emoji buttons) but, I know/understand every company makes their producs just a little different.

One thing I’d like to see Brydge do is, Make their keyboards with a back cover like other folio cases. That way you can close your iPad/tablet up inside it and it would be protected both front and backside (That was the main reason I purchased the other folio.

). Or, Make a protective case that combines the slim line case and screen protector in one (A protective case that prtects both front and back at the same time). That way you don’t have to buy 2 seperate items.

With all that said, I’M GLAD I DECIDED TO PURCHASE A BRYDGE!.

It’s an Apple product, so I don’t need the workarounds I need when using non-apple BT keyboards. It’s sturdy. It feels solid when in typing position, and when holding up the screen in viewing position with the keyboard tucked away.

This particular keyboard model has been in production for four years now, and Apple have definitely worked the kinks out. Note that it doesn’t protect the back of the iPad; I applied a skin to eliminate scratches, but that won’t stop dents.

If back protection is important to you, there are back-only cases available that still permit keyboard attachment. Overall, I recommend.
