20 Best Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick (2023 Updated)

So here’s the thing. Yes it has great staying power but every shade is a true mat so your lips will look flat which has the effect of making them look smaller. Some lipsticks have longevity but Actualy flatter the way your lips look, making them look fuller because there will be some sheen.

Obviously a quick solution is to put some gloss on but I dislike wearing lip gloss. Last pro is this is the only lip stain I’ve found so far that does stay on all day, and I’ve tried many expensive brands.

Cons – the color love craft, and lolita do NOT flatter pale skin. They are what I would call “muted” neutrals. I think they are popular for younger kids who can pull off any lip color because they are at that age where anything just works.

I am 30, attractive, pale female with nice lips but these shades made me look 10 years older. Horrible look. The only shades I can recommend are outlaw (true red) and mother (purple hot pink). I would recommend the other red shade but it doesn’t have the same staying power as outlaw…I’ve found all other shades make you look like a corpse or goth.

They are just not good colors what can I say. They look bright in the picture but when you try them on the colors just don’t play out in real life to look good.

This lip color dries extremely patchy and dark. The color mutated as it dried making it a vibrant magenta(Lovesick). Every shade offered becomes extremely dark when dry and is not suitable on most people.

The formula is drying, like a paint but that is how these formulas behave. Even Tarte has the same issue with drying. The product will come off in patches with wear and adding more product will make it appear more patchy.

Removing the entire lip and reapplying is the only way to fix it. Also, since it is drying, it will make lips appear thinner. It’s a big pain and I do not recommend. I love KVD glosses and lipstick/liner.

But I can not recommend this unless used as face paint. Lovesick is a bright magenta. Love Dare is a medium neutral pink-the most natural appearing shade offered, those still bright. This line has only had one shade added in several years.

When will the range be expanded to accommodate a wider selection of shades?.

This liquid lipstick has beautiful packaging. I love how the bottle is so sleek and long. The colour Bow N Arrow is absolutely perfect for a nude lip for light to medium skin tones. It dries down completely matte.

I like the formula but it is a bit drying after a while. It does last long, but I find that when I eat something, I seem to find the lipstick flaking off from the inner portion of my mouth. The colour is also a bit streaky, especially if you get the colour Ayesha (lavender).

However, the streakiness is not as noticeable with Bow N Arrow. I recommend this lipstick if you want something that lasts for about 5 hours and if you want really bold vivid colours. I love the wide range of colours, but I find that KVD is missing a green shade from the liquid lipstick line.

I just bought KVD liquid lipstick a few weeks ago n try it first. I already have a few colors before ( maybe 10 colors ) and i really love this brand. I just blind buy for this color and do not suprise me at all because i really love it! The color suit me well.

It have pinky-mauve color but not same with other pink i have. I have Lovecraft before but this Love Dare really amazed me. The texture still same like before. Long lasting and less transferrable. I really enjoy when used KVD liquid lipstick.

My lips dont get dry because i wear lip balm before used it. I will always choose KVD liquid lipstick even though i have same color n bought it many times. Because my lips looks beautiful when wear it.

My sisters also wear this KVD liquid lipstick. Besides, i love the packaging. The box have silver-bold font. And also at lipstick’s cap. It long thin n easy to put in a bag. Just love it! Thanx KVD for good product.

The only thing I liked was the color. I have heard so many raves about Kvd lipsticks that I was excited but this was a massive fail and probably the worst formula I’ve ever used. It refused to stay on my lips.

I love lipstick and have many brands so I have reasonable expectations about performance. I know they smear or wear off or dry out lips and I know how to maintain bright/vivid Colors for the day. This was just bad.

I had to reapply a million times throughout the day. Was grateful I had to wear a mask but cuz I was walking outside on a hot day without the mask I had to check my phone all day to see if it wiped off.

Made me very self conscious especially since it was wiped off and busted looking over half the times I checked. I have big lips and it looked horrible. And due to the type of color (which again I did like) it was very noticeable.

Even to get the vivid color I had to put multiple layers. I really tried for the color. Glad I was able to return the other color I bought before I bought. And I’m upset I have to keep this one. To make matters worse I stained my paints with it and the color made it look like a period stain.

Just a fail from top to bottom.

This liquid lipstick line has been around for a very long time and I still consider them to be among the Top 10 best liquid lipsticks you can get if you’re looking for a high pigmented matte finish. In particular, the shade Outlaw is one of my favorite red shades EVER and I can never part with it.

I know that KVD is currently liquidating many of their other shades so here are my thoughts on the line as a whole. The tall tube-shaped packaging is unique and beautiful to look at, as well as being really light and easy to stash.

The light to medium toned shades apply flawlessly pigmented in one swipe and the standard doe foot applicator makes it easy to draw on the lips. There’s no scent which is a big plus. The color selection is pretty extensive ranging from standard pinks, reds, and mauves, to more daring colors like blue and black.

However, I found that the darker colors like Vampira and all of the purple shades apply patchy and uneven, requiring multiple applications to achieve the desired effect. The finish is very, very matte and dry.

It’s the most matte and dry liquid lipstick I have ever tried. I understand that they chose this specific formula and feel so the pigment can be as strong as possible, so before applying I always use a lip scrub and a lip balm to prep.

Otherwise, any dry lip skin that I have will be exacerbated and will look and feel uncomfortable. I also back it up by filling in my lips with a matte lip pencil to increase wear time. Doing this will make even the brightest of red lipsticks last and stay sharp all day if I don’t eat anything oily.

Overall, I give this line 4 stars out of 5. I think the nudes, reds, mauve, and browns are worth the full price if you can find them. The darker and more unique colors are worth it on sale if you absolutely need a shade in your collection.

If you can tolerate the matte and dryness of this formula, it’s a worthwhile purchase.

Super pigmented, smudge-proof, everlasting lipsticks. These are one of the bests I have ever used. They apply on liquid, but not too liquid that it’s messy – then they dry down and last forever until you remove them with no fading, smudging or imperfection whatsoever.

They look matte, but not too much, and they don’t look bad on dry lips – they don’t make your lips dryer, either. The mini size lasts for a long time without drying up. I’d say the pictures on the website do not accurately represent the actual shades, so you better look them up elsewhere on try in-store.

Since these liquid lipsticks are now on sale and can be found t discount stores, I have acquired a lot of these liquid lipsticks. Although they are no the best liquid lipsticks in the game, they are still pretty great.

What sets this line of lipsticks apart from other brands is the bold dramatic colors and the dark gothic shades. The colors in this line range from light nude shades to dramatic teal or grey shades that are too daring not to try out at least once.

These lipsticks do have some pros and cons. The best thing about these lipsticks is their staying power. The instructions state that you apply a layer over your lips and hold still while it sets without touching or smacking your lips.

Once this lipstick sets and dries it stays on all day or all night. It doesn’t leave behind stains or any residue when you drink from a straw or a cup, nor does it smudge or flake off in the corner of your lips.

It lasts up to 6-8 hours before it starts to fade. The applicator makes it easy to apply and the tip can be used if you need more precision with lining the lips. The color pay-off is amazing. These lipsticks are very pigmented and opaque.

They don’t have a strong scent. The packaging is light making it easy to throw in a purse or a make-up bag. The cons for this lipstick are that they are very drying so it is best to apply a lip balm or primer before applying this lipstick in my shade.

The darker shades such as damned, crucifix, and witches have to be layered in evenly in order to create an opaque matte look.

This is such a MAGICAL product. Unfortunately I think most of the KVD products are slowly being discontinued so it might be hard to get any of these. The day this special edition colour came into the Sephora store I was working at, I was SO excited I almost broke code just to purchase it early.

It’s a very glittery sheer topper. It works great on lips AND eyes, I’m sure it would work on the face and body as well as it dries down. It’s not the most comfortable on the lips and has a slight paint-like smell/taste but if you’re into make-up artistry and photography, it’s a great product to wear on the lips for a short while, but I use it a lot on my eyes and I have no issues.

I’m not even sure this product is still available, but I did own the shade Reverb (which was a bright metallic cobalt blue). I had purchased it when these first launched and was so excited because this color was absolutely beautiful.

Incredible staying power and survived a whole night of eating and drinking. However, this was impossible to remove. I tried literally everything. Makeup remover, lip scrub, oil based makeup remover, a cold cream, literally nothing got this off.

After trying and trying, I gave up and the next day had some small but noticeable patches of blue pigment and sparkles. I never wore it again and I finally decluttered it 3 years later. I don’t know if it was just the Reverb shade that had this issue, or it was a whole product line issue.

This is such an amazing and unique product. I don’t like to waste my money on things I already have in my collection. If I can create the same effect with something I already have, I don’t buy it, but THIS is the only glitter/shiny topper that I know of that does not transfer.

If you want a truly glittery/metallic/glossy look that will stay on your lips, look no further. I don’t know of anything else like this. It’s definitely exactly what it says it is. It is a glimmer veil liquid lipstick, so while there is color, it is a translucent veil of color, and you can build up multiple coats for more color, but it’s also a liquid lipstick, so you have to let it dry between coats.

It glides on just like a liquid lipstick, which can be a bit drying, but in my experience that is typical of any liquid lipstick, but you’re fine if you prep your lips first. I’m a 1Y07 skin tone, or medium neutral, and I got the shade Televator.

I love it because it can transform my look from daytime to night-time rocker chic very easily, and it also cools down and darkens my berry lipsticks, which I’ve done when I wanted my lips to match my sweater.

You can use these veils over any lipstick you already have and create so many new and glamorous looks. I want them in every color. I think if you’re a pro makeup artist, you might want to get these in every color.

They’re so unique and versatile. KVD, don’t you dare discontinue them!.

I got two colors of this lipstick from Influenster in exchange for my honest review and I was excited to try these! The packaging is cute, I like the slim design. The doe foot applicator has a little divot to store product so as you apply it continues to dispense some product.

I usually find that liquid lipsticks look and feel pretty good at first but then they get kinda tight and can become flaky over time but that’s not the case with these. These are the longest lasting liquid lipstick I’ve ever tried! Once they dry down they don’t smudge.

And after a full day they still look great and only a tiny bit on the inside rubbed off from eating since oils can break it down a bit. But I’m surprised at how well it holds up after meals! It’s so long lasting that it can be hard to take off but I found some micellar water and then an oil cleanser worked best.

I received Baneberry (60) which is like a reddish berry color and it’s a little more cool toned in person versus the pictures. Make sure to be careful applying especially a darker color like this because it can stain so using a lip liner for very precise strokes for this.

I also tried the color Bleeding Heart (56) which is more of an orangey pink or coral. I would recommend if you are looking for a long lasting liquid lipstick in a variety of shades!.

So. I’m not really a fan of matte lipsticks or matte liquid lipsticks period because I feel like they look really harsh on my already harsh looking resting b*$%* face. But I’ve tried a few over the years and can honestly say that if I was looking to buy a matte liquid lipstick I would be really happy with one from the KVD Everlasting Hyperlight range.

I was sent the shade Bleeding Heart (which is a beautiful, vibrant rosey pink) from PinchMe in exchange for a review. What I like most about it is that it doesn’t feather into my lip lines even when worn under or over lip balm or under lip gloss (I really like it under the TF plumping lip gloss).

It hardly has any transfer if you are applying over a balm only, but even under a balm or gloss while you do get transfer your lipstick still looks perfectly made because it’s got a staining effect too.

Could be a con for some as it’s harder to remove in that case, but nothing a good wash + makeup remover can’t handle. I also really like the wand. I don’t like using lip liner but I find I’m able to get the perfect definition with this wand and it holds the perfect amount of product too.

I mean I can’t really find anything to complain about. I know people feel iffy about reviews left by someone who got a product for free but I don’t know what to say other than this brand isn’t my aesthetic and I’m not a fan of matte liquid lipsticks but it’s a good product.

Upon opening the packaging I found a very stylish, esthetically pleasant glass cylinder. Initially the appearance is promising. There will be no “but” in this review. Applying the product is not only easy, it’s as satisfying as the softest – most hydrating chapstick after a day on the ski slopes.

One of the best parts about this everlasting lipstick; if you mess up a little water takes it right off. I’m sure that gives you the impression this product would need to be reapplied constantly throughout the day.

We’ll my lip color lovers, you’d be mistaken. Not only does this lipstick look and feel like the best chapstick/lip glass you’ve always dreamed of – it also lasts all day without that awkward fade wax lipstick will do.

Upon testing this product I applied the two samples I received on the back of my hand. The last photo I will be uploading is 24 HOURS LATER! Faded evenly while maintaining it’s vibrant intensity. I also noticed that when drinking from any kind if cup ware or out of a straw the traces left behind were very very faint if not non-existent.

That alone was behind impressive and virtually not heard of. Needless to say I give this product a 10 and highly, HIGHLY, recommend!.
