20 Best Hot Plate For Candle Making (2023 Updated)

This is a very portable hotplate that lets me move my cooking space out of my kitchen. I love having the options it opens up when prepping dinner. Especially with cooking at home for the past year due to covid, this hotplate helped my family and I to recreate some of the restaurant cuisine we were craving like hotpot and KBBQ.

It gave us the ability to keep our soup base nice and hot as we dropped veggies and fish balls into the soup to be cooked. When I used it to grill meat, it seemed to heat pretty evenly letting me cook thin slices of meat quickly.

That really helped recreate the feeling of freshly grilled KBBQ on the table. It takes a bit longer to heat up some of my cookware but I think that is expected and works very well with some patience.

An extra plus in my book is its ease of cleaning. Unlike some traditional hotplates with the exposed coil this one is much easier to clean and take care of.

This hot plate worked just like an electric stove hot plate would. A 10 inch pan worked just right on it. I used it on my countertops and it did not make them hot, but to be cautious I would put it on top of something.

Read the directions because it does point out that you should wipe off the top before using and during the first use or first 10-15 minutes you can expect a little smoke and smell. I experienced this, but it was not bad.

Also note, the cord on the device is not that long. Depending on where you want to use it, say the middle of an island or camping, you may want to use an extension cord with it. It worked great for creating an extra place to cook and my food came out just the same!.

It was meh. It worked fine the first couple of months and then it took e longer and longer for it to get hot. Until it finally stopped working after 5mo since purchase. The body itself gets hot so be careful.

If you are using this as a temporary disposable appliance, it should suffice. Otherwise invest in something better.

We camp most weekends during the year. We got this burner to use at our campsite, mostly for outdoor use, not necessarily in our camper. This has been a great addition to our other outdoor cooking units (grill, smoker, griddle, crock pot, Fire).

Not only is this great for having an extra burner outside, but it also does a great job at keeping food warm on the serving table. It does seem to have an offensive smell at first but after the intial use, it’s gone.

Probably just something sprayed on at the factory?.

We love eating steaks but don’t like to cook them in the house because of the mess and smell that tends to linger for days. This electric burner is exactly what we needed because now we can cook out under the patio without using the grill or stinking and greasing up the house.

This hot plate works and heats up pretty evenly. It’s not too hard to clean as long as you don’t let stuff build up on it. I always clean ours as soon as it cools down just to where it’s still very warm but not too hot (be sure to unplug it first).

Everything seems to wipe off much easier when it’s still a little warm.

This item worked for over 3 years before it died. Is that a long time? I don’t think so. The electric grills in conventional stove tops lasted decades with daily usage. Maybe no company makes products that reach that level of quality.

This burner is one big chunk of metal. Thus it takes a long time to reach its temperature. With that being said, it also holds heat for a long time. Ideally this would be used on a buffet table to keep a pot warm instead of for cooking.

I needed a cook top and this was all that was available at my store for a long time. So it was bought. If you need to keep your electric bill down or need to cook something quickly, don’t get this. If you need to simmer things or keep things warm for long periods, this will do it.

I’m trying an induction cook top next. I’ll buy the extended warranty because they have a bad reputation for not lasting very long. They do boil things quickly. Mostly I cook things in a pot with liquids.

Induction works well cooking that way.

Can’t even cook an egg. Took 20 minutes to fry one egg and the yolk was even runny. The plate cools when it reaches a certain temperature. I used it outdoor and it did not even kill a fly that touched the rim of the frying pan while frying fish that took more than 30 minutes to cook and fish was not even crispy.

It was soggy. Very poor quality.

It works perfectly, cleans real easy, and is small. It’s just as pictured. Now the delivery took longer than expected. But I’m satisfied with it.

I’ve been using it about once a day for the past few weeks & it works ok. The instructions indicate that it can’t remain plugged in. The imprinting of temperature numbers has already worn off by about 70% making it harder to operate.

This is a quality issue that could have easily detected & prevented by using the correct imprinting method. I’ll have to try using nail polish or notching it. Otherwise, it cooks well.

Pros: (1)Nice looking. (2)Easy to operate(It’s a hot plate, how hard can it be right?). Cons: (1)The blade connectors were very loose(wobbly). One just barely hanging on! This caused a bad connection which resulted in the wires overheating and melting the insulation on one of the female blade connectors.

Had I not shut it off, it could have caused a fire if left unattended for a while. I guess whoever makes these has no Quality Control at the factory. (2) Pots & pans slide around on the cooking surface too easy.

Make sure you have a good hold before stirring! (3) Takes a long time to heat up and cool down. Advise: If you buy this,have someone knowledgeable of electrical wiring take the back plate off and check the connectors before using.

Product came damaged. Do not buy. Had loose pieces of plastic bouncing around the inside of the mouse.

Perfect for using my cast iron skillet,my new glass top can’t handle the skillet. I use this on a table outside to eliminate a smokey kitchen.

This hot plate arrived well packaged and ready for use. It is perfect for my tiny home. While it does take up more counter space than other hot plates, the temperature control works wonderfully and it brings water to a full boil rapidly and cooks food perfectly.

I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly suggest this brand to others. While more expensive than other brands, the plate stays hot and doesn’t keep shutting off due to the thermostat control that many more inexpensive store brands have.

Do yourself a favor and go ahead and make the purchase. It’s well worth it!.

Awesome for keeping my largest pot evenly heated. Using for large batch canning and as the heat source for large distillation system. My largest pot with water weighs in at 28 pounds. This hot plate showed no signs of stress.

The coils heat up quickly and evenly. I have mine connected to a temp controlled outlet set at med-hi with a heat probe that signals the outlet to supplie power as needed to the hot plate. Assuring that the temperature I preset stays on target.

Dear Obelink friends, Your delivery was speedy, your consultation on telephone excellent. Unfortunately the size of 15cm diameter of this hob is not very practical. The least should have been 18 or 20cm.

Given the size of most pots, 15cm is simply too small. I wish your product information had made this clear from the very outset. If one looks very carefully, one can find it, but even then one has to search for it.

If you have a model with a larger diameter than 15cm, I would appreciate it and gladly exchange it, but apparently you do not. In spite of this drawback, I consider the design of this hob as excellent and useful and intend to use it.

I used it for 6 months before it was broken. Very slow for cooking. It is indeed cheap.

We needed service on our range. This meant no oven or cooktop until it was fixed. Supply chain issues meant that the part would not arrive for more than a month. Cuisinart has been a reliable brand for us in the past, so we favored Cuisinart when shopping on Amazon.

So, we ordered the single burner to hold us over. Worked great. Heated quickly, felt solid under the pans, and had good temp control. Very satisfied. And since it runs on standard 120 current, it will be a great backup burner to run off our generator or solar in a weather emergency.

The Cuisinart Countertop Single “Burner” works great for my purposes. Yes, the surface around the burner gets hot. That is to be expected, I think. If you follow directions and let the burner plate get to temperature (the light goes green).

it works great. It heated up soup in 5 minutes or less. Just like a stove stop. Like all cooking appliances, keep flamable items away from it. I recommend this for anyone looking for portable electric cooking.

We purchased this burner to use while our kitchen is being remodeled but I’m sure we will find other uses going forward. The burner works great. It heats up in a reasonable amount of time and provides consistent results.

It works a little differently from a normal electric stove burner. You don’t need to turn the dial to the high setting to get it to heat up and then turn it down to the heat you want. You just set it to the level you want and it heats to that point.

I usually use “1” when I cook most things. The base is very steady and solid. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I bought this unit to replace my Broil King single coil burner when it went out after 20 years of almost daily use. WHAT I LIKE: * The heavy cast iron burners – Before I owned my Broil King, I had a unit with stainless steel burners, of which badly warped after only a few years.

I’m hoping the heavier cast iron will hold up better. * The unit has a matte finish which doesn’t show splatters like a shiny finish does. * The knobs don’t get as dangerously hot as my Broil King. WHAT I DON’T LIKE: * The cord is only 27.

5″ long (excluding prongs) & doesn’t reach my outlet easily. * Indicator light constantly goes off & on during cooking (On 2 different pages of the user manual, it states “The power indicator light. will glow indicating that the heating element is turned on” AND “The indicator lights illuminate when the unit is turned on”).

Nowhere do they tell you that the lights go off during cooking – this is dangerous if you are not paying attention to the temperature dial. * Unused side of burner gets fairly warm, though not enough to burn your hand.

This is only a minor issue. HOW WELL IT COOKS: * Temps range from 1 to 6 but can be set anywhere in between. * Number 1 only gets warm enough to keep cooked food warm. * Number 2 took about 15 mins to heat a bowl of noodle soup.

* Number 4 took about 20 mins to bring 6. 5 cups of water to a low boil, just hot enough to cook pasta. * Number 6 (max) it took about 16 min to bring 6. 5 cups of water to a full boil.

Both my sons are Eagle Scouts and camp quite often with there troop, friends and father. They are always looking for more camping and cooking supplies. I got them this hot plate and they were beyond excited.

It’s light enough to pack and take with you but sturdy enough to handle boy scouts. It’s easy to use and the directions on how to use were simple. The temperature heated up like promised and the portability is perfect.

This is now a camping must.

This product is supposed to be rated at 1000 watts. It does not heat that well. The actual rating is more like 500 to 750 watts. It is a well designed, slick-looking unit with clean lines. It just does not heat as it should.

I wished I had purchased a unit rated at 1500 watts, or one that at least heats to the level to which it is rated. Save your money and future headaches and by a reputable product; one that is not CHINESE-MADE JUNK if that is still possible! If you need a heating element to warm hot chocolate, coffee, tea, or soup, this will work.

Perfection. I gave it a test. An All Clad pot filled with cold water to boil shrimp. It heated. boiled. just as fast as when I use my gas stove. And. I don’t have to wash off my stove which I hate. Buy it!.

It returned it because I wanted a cordless rechargeable hot plate to use during a power outage. This one had to be plugged in which made it useless to me.

This is a great cook top, make sure your pans are compatible. Must be magnetic so read the description. Heats fast, like instantly and cools as fast. Has lock feature and timer. Great purchase thank u!!.

This review is for Brentwood Appliances Brentwood Appliances 1,000-watt Single Electric Burner (black). I use this burner to fry fish, but at the highest temperature, this burner still does not cook the fish to a desired crispiness, because of intermittently automatic pauses that lower the temperature.

I had another Brentwood 1,000-watt single Electric Burner before, but it stopped working just about a year or so ago; not sure why or perhaps because while cleaning the burner, somehow the knob got broken.

I decided to order this new burner to give it a try, and will keep it because it does heat up and cooks the food, just not to the desired high temperature. Hopefully it will not break so easily just because you’re trying to keep it clean.

I always thought Brentwood TS 321BK will be better for my little bit cooking I do. Its hardly close to ten days it stopped working it surprised me this morning. I can give any start because it did not even last for month.

So for me its piece of junk. Stopped working after few days. piece of junk.

bought this last year but havent used it much. until my boyfriends propane range ran out of gas in the middle of cooking dinner. on a sunday. saved a lot of grief. temp control works fine on mine. no complaints got the job done with no problems.

great for a simple one-pot meal.

I am very pleased with the product. It is well made. I use a woke (carbon steel) to cook with often. When cooking with a woke, there needs to be high heat, to get the woke very hot. This hot plate does the job.

Clean up on it is easy and when I wipe the knob to clean it of grease it wipes clean easily. Not taking off what is written on it. I had experience with a two-burner. When I wiped the knob clean. What was written on it came off.

This has not happened with this burner. I am very pleased with it.

Got the white. It works just right. Large rubber feet, so I set it on the countertop safely. Unplug it when I finish using it, just to be safe. My rangetop has two bad/dangerous burners, so I really use this daily with confidence.

This is a commercial quality electric cooktop. I have had one for years at my work and bought a second one for home use. There is a single control knob so there is very little to fail. It is easy to keep clean with the stainless model.
