A homemade fly trap for indoors can be made using a variety of materials and methods. Some common materials used to make fly traps include:
-A plastic soda bottle
-A piece of paper
-A rubber band
-A small amount of sugar
-A small amount of vinegar
-Water
To make the fly trap, simply cut the top off of the soda bottle, invert it, and then secure it to the bottom half of the bottle with the rubber band. Next, mix together the sugar and vinegar, and pour this mixture into the inverted top of the bottle.
Finally, add water to the bottle until it is about half full.
The fly trap works by attracting flies with the sugar and vinegar mixture, and then trapping them inside the bottle when they fly in.

These little pots are wonders if you have fruit flies. We keep a compost bucket in our kitchen, and have been overrun by the little buggers for months now. I have been creating my own catchers with wine glasses, plastic sandwich bags and rubber bands, and they were ugly, and I risked breaking the catchers.
These, on the other hand, are unobtrusive, sit firmly on the shelf, hide the caught bugs, and seem to attract them better than my hack. If you have fruit flies, buy a couple. You won’t regret it.
To use you put apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap. I often use this mixture in a little bowl by my sink in the summer. We always get little fruit flies but don’t really have any now. This little container looks much nicer and can’t be knocked over as easily as the bowl.
I love this fruit fly trap, you can fill it and not worry about knocking it over like you do those little apples traps. I have a large kitchen and have three of them cause we bring in fresh vegetables from the garden all year.
Traps more flies with no fly trap odor. Unique compact design with special long-lasting, rain-proof adhesive. Insecticide-free, odor-free. Ideal for stables, kennels, gardens, and homes.
feed neighbor cats outside my front door, have never seen so many flies before. just put outside and looked 10 mins later, have about a dozen flies so far. needed something safe, this is really neat, you can set it or it has a hook for hanging.
says its waterproof, nice hard plastic case, not cardboard or sticky tape, round so they stick to all sides. price was pretty good for 2. will be buying again. I bought 4 boxes with 2 inside, will be putting one inside my recycle trash can, where I put the cat cans in, has a lid but they still get in.
When I took this out of the box and put it out, it was useless. Nothing happened, no matter where I placed it. I decided that since dog poop was the attraction, I would try something. I placed dog pool in the bottom of the individual compartments, and placed it in the yard.
Worked like a charm!! Now there were so many flies attached to it, it was no longer yellow, but black. Works great. Pick it up when full and toss it. That’s it.
Scientifically proven, insecticide-free fly magnet designed to attract biting, disease-carrying stable flies. When sunlight shines through, flies are instinctively drawn to this biting fly trap’s shimmering, translucent surface as if it were a warm-blooded animal.
Unique shape provides 360 degrees of effective trapping surface to trap over 8,000 flies. Effective in the “Biting Fly Zone, ” up to 4 feet off the ground. Special weatherproof adhesive wont dry out, melt or wash away.
Economical and disposable. For use in stables, livestock barns, cattle ranches, poultry farms, kennels, restaurants, home and garden. Easy-to-use; hang or mount in direct sunlight up to 4 feet off the ground and at least 10 feet away from structures.
Approximately 14″L. For best results, use with EZ Trap Fly Trap (sold separately) for nuisance flies.
This is the only trap that gets the leg flies. The ones that BITE humans and horses. No other anti-fly measure works, but this one does. I keep 3 of them out around the property all summer long (changing out when full) and the horses don’t stomp.
I’ve experimented with different heights (Starbar says to place no more than 4 feet off the ground) and for me, to have the bottom of the trap about 14 inches off the ground works best. Schneiders is the only place that will ship them for free (with a large enough order), which makes them very affordable as there’s nowhere locally to buy them.
the traps catch an amazing amount of biting flies. i buy traps by the dozen. It’s the only way i can control our stable fly population. sprays had no effect. my horses were being driven crazy before i discovered these traps.
i can even hose traps off and reuse them all over my farm. i hang the new traps where flies are the worst. timberwolffstables. com.
This is the third summer that I have used the Starbar Bite Free Stable Fly Trap in my barn. I swear by these pups. The pleated design maximizes the sticky surface area of the trap, so it catches even more flies.
I hang the traps in locations where the traps can shine in the sun. Two of them hang from blanket bars just inside my barn aisle. The shiny surface of the trap attracts the flies. There is no stinky attractant to deal with.
State Line Tack offers these traps at the best price that I have found, and I order reinforcements from State Line all summer long. This fly trap and agricultural-grade fans with sealed motors are the two best weapons I have found to make my barn a pleasant place for horses and people all summer long.
My herd’s foot-stomping days are long over, and the barn is the refuge they deserve.

So I didn’t buy this from the official rescue website I got it at either hoem depot or lowes. I usually use the fly trap ribbons you hang because my garage gets kidna bad with Flys especially around July August here.
Anyways both me and my dad bought one each, and the results. Are scary. Haha. He had probably a couple hundred in his bag because of dogs next door and that’s no joke, hundreds. Mine at home as a lottt too.
I will always buy these and recommend em if people have trouble with Flys. PSA these will start to stankkkkkkkk bad after awhile but hey that’s why they work so GREAT!! So little trade off can’t keep it for a long long period of time unless you can deal with the smell but from the instructions I don’t believe it’s meant to sit that long anyways.
10/10 product and works better then any other ive tried. That smell had me gagging though when I pulled it down. Haha.
I was concerned that the price on this was so high. I was having such an issue with Flys that I spent over $40. 00 buying the jar and a few of these packets. Seems costly just to kill Flys. Well, this stuff is amazing.
It stinks. but Flys love it so much they go in and never get back out. I have a fly free garage and back yard now. I’m rural and there are horses and livestock here. I highly recommend this to any one who hates Flys as much as I do.
My wife and I love to sit outdoors. Flies make this less enjoyable. We bought a disposable trap, and we’re floored at how effective it was. We bought the reusable one next with the same results. It takes a couple of days for the attractant to reach full strength, but when it does, the trap fills quickly! Love and am amazed with this product! Beware though, it smells to high heaven.
Fast Acting – These discreet indoor traps use a food-based lure that attracts, catches, and eliminates fruit flies that congregate and breed near fruit, vegetables, and food scraps. Long Lasting – Each box includes 2 traps and four 15-day supplies of food-based fruit fly attractant that is safe to use around food.
Fruit flies find the color and scent of our attractant irresistible! Easy to Use – No mixing or home remedies required. Simply add the liquid attractant to the trap and it starts catching fruit flies within a day! A smart No-Tip design prevents spills in your kitchen or food storage areas.
Reusable Trap – Once caught, fruit flies drown in the liquid attractant. When the traps are full, they can be emptied, cleaned, and stored for future use. Made in the USA – At RESCUE!, our goal is to design and manufacture the safest and most effective pest control solutions available.
I was excited to get my Rescue Fruit Fly Trap because it’s summer and that means that the fruit flies are all over the place. I love that this trap because it’s made in the USA and it’s reusable. The trap comes with two packets of natural food-based liquid that is used to attract the fruit flies into the trap.
The trap is spill resistant and Rescue claims that the liquid will work for two weeks, however it does last longer than the two weeks. Once the trap is assembled, it’s ready to attract fruit flies and they will go to the liquid and get trapped in the funnel shaped trap without any weird stickie traps, or electric devices that are annoying to place around the house.
In the summer, it’s inevitable to get some fruit flies in the house, especially if you like to keep fresh fruit around, so this trap is a necessity. I don’t notice the trap at all once it’s set up and don’t worry about it until I notice that the bait needs to be changed.
I would strongly recommend the Rescue Reusable Fruit Fly Trap to anyone that doesn’t like fruit flies in their home! I don’t have any issues with annoying fruit flies now that I have this trap in my home.
Does’t work as much as apple cider vinegar or just a simple pan filled up with dish soap and water. I wanted to try because I use apple cider vinegar with a drop of dish soap in it but the fruit flies problem was getting worst although it was catching a lot of it.
I put side by side to see who was caching more and this is the results: the first pic is the vinegar method, clearly caught a lot I did even bother to count them. The 2nd pic is the one I bought from Walmart caught 13 fruit flies.
Hand down the best is the old method but that night I left in the sink a little pot soaked with water and soap and the same night I had the winner, 3rd pic. Who knew that a simple container filled up with bubble water could catch so many fruit flies.
I got this because a couple times every summer I end up with fruit flies in the house so figured I’d keep it on hand. Well the time came to try it out. It’s small and looks pleasant enough. Much nicer to look at than the contraption I built with the top of the 20oz bottle cut off and inverted inside the bottom with red wine vinegar poured in it.
Although this contraption I built worked great, it wasn’t really great to look at on the counter for a couple of days while it worked its magic. This little contraption works in a very similar way, basically giving them space to be lured in by the scent of the liquid but making the escape routes very narrow so they can’t find their way out.
The device came with 2 packets of liquid mix. You use them 1 at a time. They smell strongly of red wine vinegar so I imagine after using both of the packets it comes with, you could substitute rwv and keep using the device.
I set up the device and left it on the counter for about 2 days. I didn’t have any more fruit flies! Basically they go down in the trap and drown, so all you have to do is take the lid off and dump it down the sink.
Clean and easy way to get rid of those pesky fruit flies!.
6. Dr. Killigan’s The Fly Inn | Window Fly Traps | Sticky Fly Strip | Indoor Insect Trap | Catches and Hides Bugs | Better Than Fly Paper or Ribbon | Get
No more embarrassment. These traps are designed to be out in the open.
No more frustrations. Chasing flies through the house will be a thing of the past.
No more bugs. You may see them for a minute, but not for long.
Item Package Quantity:6 | Color: Gray (Product Condition: Box has a hole on it. ) | Indoor Insect Trap | Catches and Hides Bugs | Better Than Fly Paper or Ribbon | Get Rid of Fruit Flies | (2+4, Gray) KILLER DESIGN – With 2 Fly Inn housings and 4 sticky traps per box, there is no place for tacky fly ribbon in the corner of your family room.
With the Fly Inn, this problem is a thing of the past. The front of the trap has a pleasing motif that conceals the true nature of its insect-trapping capabilities – all so you can display them with confidence.
HIDES BUGS – Nobody want to see piles of dead bugs. The Fly Inn is a different sort of trap. The bugs crawl in, get stuck, and are hidden inside. The open top gives bugs a large entry point where they then come in contact with the inner walls which are coated with an incredibly sticky glue providing maximum insect-trapping power.
Trapped and hidden. NONTOXIC AND SAFE – No pesticides, No insecticides, No smells, No toxins, so you can feel confident that your loved ones are safe and secure. EASIEST EVER – Wet the suction cups on the back of the trap and stick it to the window.
Then place the disposable insert inside. What’s easier than that?.
When I think of suction cups, I always think of those shower caddies that claim to hold your shampoo and then fall the next day. Not so with the Fly Inn. The Fly Inn is sturdy and has refused to let me down by falling down.
I love the clever branding too. “The Fly Inn”. because the flies fly in. and because they don’t leave. they stay at the fly inn. and never check out. I love it. 5 stars for design, 5 stars for effectiveness, 5 stars for non-toxic, 5 stars for wit, 5 stars for Dr.
Not sure about the effectiveness of this trap, unlike the moth traps which work well. The sticky strip sits loosely inside the plastic, and the one tab to hold down an edge doesn’t work well. The card flops around inside and small flies can easily land behind it.
So far, it hasn’t caught many and I’ve tried a number of window positions.
The best defense against Mother Nature is Mother Nature. Introducing STEM Kills Fruit Fly Trap a fruit fly killer for home use made with botanical extracts that are safe for you (when used as directed).
STEM’s scientists decode the power of nature to use botanical extracts to effectively and safely protect your family, home and pets from pests (when used as directed). STEM indoor fly trap attracts fruit flies and kills them.
This fly insecticide was tested by entomologists and is safe for use around kids and pets (when used as directed). It has no added dye, added fragrance, or harsh chemical odors. Starts working immediately and lasts up to 21 days.
STEM helps protect your family. Our fruit fly trap is Rooted in Nature, Optimized by Science.
I received the STEM fruit fly trap to review with my honest opinion. Since it’s winter time, opening this product to test against fruit flies won’t be as effective so my review is based solely on ingredients and look.
I live in a big city, so that means even when there isn’t fruit around, in the warmer months we see a lot of fruit flies (or small flies alike. ) I have two small children so something that isn’t harsh and uses natural components is more appealing to someone like me.
I like that it’s a small container that you just have to pop the lid open and that’s it / it draws the flies toward it. It’s good for 21 days, which is a lengthy amount of time for a product like this to still work! Those sticky strips you hang are so unattractive and annoying.
Who wants a yellow streamer hanging from their window that has flies all over it? Not me. I like that this is discrete, you’ll never know it’s purpose unless you outwardly tell someone. I can’t attest to the strength or power yet, since there isn’t really any fruit flies to be caught this time of year, but I do feel like it will serve its purpose.
Being that it’s safe for children and pets, that’s the biggest things for me. I don’t like to spray unnatural chemicals in my home around my kids, so I hope stem knocks these products out of the park!.
You have a lovely bowl of fruit, a medley of colors. you got your yellow bananas, your red apples, your peaches or nectarines, and some little mandarins filling your bowl. Perfect for snacking and on the go.
A couple days pass by, your beautiful fruit bowl is now being dotted by fruit flies and they seem to multiply as the day goes on. The sweet tender flesh of your peaches are now bruised and kinda squishy to the touch.
At least we can take them out of the equation with STEM without using harsh chemicals on the fruits themselves. I place this bad boy near the fruit bowl and I don’t have to worry about a fruit fly or larvae being accidentally ingested.
The fruit flies swarm and get stuck in the jar and I think that’s great. No mess, out of sight out of mind. I don’t even have to worry about the residue on the fruits because it’s safe in jar. I would definitely buy this again in a heartbeat.
I can’t speak to much on this product, my fruit flies died before the product arrived. I brought home a bunch of fruit and that is where the little demons came from. The multiples so quickly like evil little rabbits.
I filled out the survey on influenster and forgot all about it. Of course I couldn’t let the little monsters take over my house so I googled home remedies. I mixed some apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dawn dish soap.
I nuced it in my microwave so the apple cider became fragrant and sat it out next to the fruit. Covered it with plastic wrap and popped holes in it with a pencil to make little openings. It worked great and the flies committed Suicide in my soapy fruit brew.
When the vox box arrived it was too late. I couldn’t find the retail cost of this fruit fly killer but it would have to be cheap to compare to the way I took care of them. I do look forward to using it in the future.
I like that it’s safe in the home with pets and kids. Convenient to use just open and sit it out and walk away.

We have a problem with no-see-um gnats that bite ! They are in our screen porch and we cannot keep them out since they are small enough to enter thru the screen. It is a maddening situation as the bites are worse from this gnat than a mosquito ! We bought this device and so far catching some in the glue trap at the bottom of the unit.
We keep this machine going throughout the day, although the blue light is fairly subdued so not many gnats are caught until it gets darker. On some nights we use this in our bedroom to catch any stray gnats or mosquitoes that have gotten into the house.
I was worried about the noise from this product but it is actually very quiet, especially on the lower setting. We also found that it works better when placed near a night light as it attracts the bugs even more.
It is a tough call in keeping the trap running over night in the porch as it may attract more gnats inside the screen who are drawn to the light but we will keep experimenting. So far at least we are finding a dozen or more gnats each day in the glue.
Price for this product seems fair given the success so far.
I bought this for my office after a recent outbreak of fruit flies. I was beyond exasperated with the endeavors of the operation team to treat the problem, so I purchased this on my own in an effort to try something to control the issue.
I ran this on silent mode overnight and returned to find a dozen fruit flies trapped on the sticky pad – definitely already making more progress than the professional bug service or the small cups of apple vinegar placed in various places throughout the office.
This purchase is worth every penny already, and I’ve had it for less than a day. I will say – the instructions say nothing about the 2 white sticky pads included with the machine. Simply remove the adhesive, and place the pad sticky side up in the bottom of the machine – as the flies fall through the machine, they will stick to this adhesive pad.
You can then discard the adhesive pad at anytime and replace it with a fresh one. I will need to research to see if you can buy replacement adhesive pads.
We are plagued with mosquitoes (thanks to neighbors with funky pools – ugh). We don’t like spraying chemicals in the house so I tried this product as a last resort. Oh my gosh, we would not have suffered so many bites had I bought this sooner! The first day – first day! – I counted 10 mosquitoes on the sticky board inside the device.
10! yea! We leave it running when we are out of the house and frequently come back to little presents of dead mosquitoes. We even leave it running near us when we are watching TV. Occasionally a mosquito will venture away from us and get caught in the fan.
The fan has 2 speeds – standard and quiet. The fan does rattle a bit occasionally on either setting but it’s not an annoying noise. It more of a white noise that you know is there but is not a bother.
The glue boards are super simple to pop in and out of the bottom of the trap. And the trap itself (we have the black one) is not obtrusive at all. I highly recommend this item. We are so happy with it we even named it Audrey.
She will forever have a home in our house and our travel trailer. Oh, and the seller has been a true delight. We have been corresponding about the product and I have received prompt and detailed answers to my questions.
The RESCUE! Non-Toxic FFTR2 Reusable Fruit Fly Trap starts catching fruit flies within minutes using a food based lure and color proven attractive to fruit flies. Includes two 15 day supplies of Non-Toxic attractant that is safe to use around food.
RESCUE!’ s goal is to design, manufacture and market the safest, most effective pest control solutions available. Established in 1982, RESCUE! pest control products have never used poisons or toxicants to kill pest insects.
After seeing the low stars and reading a few negative reviews I was hesitant, but desperate and decided to still give this product a try. I am beyond happy to say these little things did not let me down.
I took a picture of only one of them, but all 4 that I bought were filled up. These fruit flies had gotten so out of control while I was a way for a few weeks in my home I’m so happy this caught them basically all.
The liquid did last for about 2 weeks. I’m about to buy another pack because there’s still a handful of them left and hopefully after that I will never see another fruit clue for many years to come. Lol.
Just make sure to try different places to catch these things. I at first placed one on the windowsill and another in a different part of my kitchen. As soon as I noticed the one that was filling up quickly and the one on my windowsill wasn’t I switched it and placed it basically next to one another.
Then I placed another 2 next to each other in the dining room as it’s adjacent to my kitchen and they were in there as well. Either way you will not be disappointed with this product, just be careful not to tip it over as the liquid will pour out.
Natural Catch Plus fruit fly traps are the no-fuss, no-mess method of trapping and getting rid of pesky fruit flies for good. Low-maintenance traps are non-toxic and pesticide free, containing only a vinegar based all natural attractant to lure fruit flie.
The fruitflies arrive annually for several months. and there’s no fruit or vegetables in sight. I’ve checked with neighbors and it seems to be a phenomenon as they too have this problem. I now purchase 2 boxes (2 in each box) at a time and put out 2 units which seems to do the job well.
I bought this, i bought more to have a spare. in case. The stick that comes with it wasn’t sharp enough to pierce the plastic. I used a toothpick and then the stick provided to open the hole. Worked perfectly.
This product really works! I tried several “home made” methods which helped the fruit fly problem a little. I put 2 of these traps on my kitchen counter and the fruit flies disappeared after 1 day! I like the fact that you can’t see the dead fruit flies in the trap.
Includes (2) Tubes of attractant. Fast-acting. Safe to use around food. Non-toxic. Fruit flies that are caught in the trap will drown in the liquid attractant.
Received this gratis in return for a review. Package contained 1 trap with 2 pouches of liquid attractant. Filled the trap with one of the pouches (the other is a refill) and set it out in our Florida Room which seems to attract fruit flies and a few other insects whenever we eat out there, which we do frequently in the summer months.
The trap proved to work great for fruit flies, as promised. Trap is filling up rapidly and I expect I’ll have to clean it out and refill it before too long. Hoped it would attract some of the other pests like the gnats, but it did not work for them.
Not complaining, since it made no promises other than for what it was successfully accomplishing. Will likely be buying more refills for this soon. Definitely recommend this trap if fruit flies are an annoyance.
Flies be gone fly trap original flies be gone fly trap. This fly trap is strongly effective in decreasing your fly problems, even pesticide-resistant flies. Maintenance free, non toxic and completely disposable.
Nothing to clean up! Flies be gone fly trap is used in the professional pest control industry. This fly trap is a farmer’s true friend for use on poultry farms, dairy farms, stables, livestock ranches, feed lots, kennels.
The trap also draws flies away from restaurant dumpsters or from anywhere that flies are a problem.
Wow! I was beyond impressed with how effective these traps were. I’m not 100% sure if we always had this many flies or if the traps attracted more, but they caught them. The only downside (from a smaller backyard perspective) was the smell.
They started to get pretty stinky after a few days, completely understandable, just something I noticed. I wish I had ordered more so I could have put up the replacements right away. I was very impressed that no other flying creatures made their way into the trap.
Highly effective product, well thought out design, very easy to install and dispose of. If there was ever a version that relied less on single use plastic this product would be absolute perfection. Highly recommend!.
This new and improved flies be gone is an inferior imposter. First, the weather really needs to be above 85 before the smell start attracting the flies. It took two weeks, this is a much longer wait period versus the original.
Second, the original had a mesh cone that the flies walked into, this new product does not. So now you can watch the flies going on and out. Third, when it rains the bag fills with water. So now you have to dump out the water and mix up something smelly to attract the flies.
Fourth, the larger bag seems like a good idea. I had lots of maggots which was not an issue before. Bottom line, yes this product will eventually catch flies, but not as efficiently and effectively as the original product with the red and yellow lid.
Thankfully the company did refund my money. I will not buy this product again. Make sure when you order you ask what product you will be receiving. I ordered the original and received the product with the black lid as a substitute.
We raise beef cattle and our pasture is on the other side of our driveway which is directly in front of our house. I would have to wipe off my window sills and siding under our porch weekly because the fly poop was so disgusting.
We put up the trap in betwwen the house and the barn, it does have a slight odor but then again so does cow poop. After the trap was up about two weeks I only have to wipe off a spot or two. What a great product, we will be getting more for next year.
This sounds gross but we all go out and check how many flies are caught and how full the bag is getting. We also put up the yellow hanging strips in the barn but I am noticing fewer flies being caught on them.
I like these a lot. I don’t have much of a fly problem in the house because I have a sticky fly trap hanging near the front door, which prevents the indoor problem. My problem is fruit flies, or whatever they are, that are the little things that are quite annoying.
I found that they also bite. I have one of these on my front window and the side of my computer desk, because I eat while watching TV, which draws them to the front room. I also have one on the window in the kitchen behind the sink.
For some reason, which I believe may be the air conditioning opening, I have a problem with these little flies/gnats in the bathroom. I put these on the mirror and they fill up with the little critters almost immediately.
I also have one of those little red containers that are filled with cider vinegar that gets filled up quite rapidly as well. Regular flies do get attracted to them if you have that kind of a problem in the house, but the fact they attract the little buggers is a great benefit to me.
We have lot of windows and a lot of foot traffic with our grandchildren here all summer. I just put one strip at the bottom of the windows. Flies stick to them and can’t get off. They are GREAT because I don’t have to run around swatting flies and getting yuck on all my windows.
I have been using these for years. Once I learned how to place them and how to peel off the protective strips, I added them to windows and even in bathroom mirrors. I purchase these every spring and summer.
Great for getting control of gnats. That was the main reason I bought them. Gnats seem to come out of nowhere. And I can never get rid of them. That was until I found these. A little tricky getting protective strips off.
I cut mine in half to make two, out of one. First, find the red strip, peel it off. That side is what you stick to your window. Once you have it on the window then peel the protective shield that is facing you off and you’re set.
I recommend these to people that need fly control or gnat control. Truly works. My daughter has a lot of gnats, I told her about this product. Economical, odorless, transparent on windows.
Keep insects away from your home with the help of this Rescue Fly Trap Insect Control pouch. This product is designed to catch common nuisance and filth flies. It contains a powder attractant that dissolves and activates quickly when water is added.
Hang the Rescue disposable fly trap in areas where you absolutely cannot have any flies and other insects flying around. The result is a fly-free area minus the mess. The Rescue fly trap insect control is intended for use outdoors.
It’s recommended that you install it around 20′ away from any outdoor living spaces.
1. a) Cut plastic on top cap at dotted line. b) Pull open and attach string or wire. 2. a) Add water to fill line on bag. (Don’t allow trap to dry out.) b) Hang outdoors where flies are a problem. 3 a) When full, close cap. b) Dispose in trash. Helpful Hints: 1. Weather conditions affect fly activity and trap effectiveness. In hotter temperatures, place traps in trees or bushes. In cooler temperature, flies will be more active when it is warmer, so place traps in sun-exposed areas. Fly activity will diminish in temperatures below 75 degrees F. 2. Place traps outdoors near a fly source (garbage, compost pile, dog run, stable, feedlot, etc.) or in barns where there is some air movement. Avoid strong winds. Strong odor may occur if not placed in well-ventilated area. 3. place traps at various locations and heights to determine most effective placement. Allow 2-5 hours for activation.
Warnings
Safety Information: Keep out of reach of children, pets and livestock. If swallowed, drink water to dilute. Do not induce vomiting. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with water for 15 minutes.

I had been using the Starbar Captivator fly trap and it was working well. When it was finished I would push the top back down and tape over it with duct tape to seal it up and put it in a trash bag by itself to seal up the smell of death.
I thought I’d give this Rescue brand a try since it was a bit cheaper and it also had great reviews. I hang them from a fence, about 3 feet from the ground (wire hook through the hole in the plastic top).
It captured lots of flies just like the Starbar, but not any more than, and not any quicker. The Rescue has a stronger smell that was way more annoying than the Starbar. Then when I went to remove it and tape over the top with tape, I noticed one of the plastic seams at the top pleat was open! I carefully tried to tape over it to seal that spot up.
Then I noticed it was leaking from the bottom as well. The seam at the bottom was opening up! Before I knew it I had a total mess dripping out on the ground. I covered it with dirt to keep the smell down.
It’s like the plastic bag was just falling apart from a little handling. Maybe it can’t handle the Texas heat and sun. I’ve got two more of these Rescue traps, but I’m not taking the risk of it opening up on me again.
I handle these things very gently because I don’t want any liquid sloshing out. I’ll stick with the Captivator since it is a rigid plastic pail with no seams to come apart.
These things work like a charm. We hang ours on a twig of our ficus tree in the middle of the heat of the Arizona summer. We have a problem with flies near our garbage cans and then they come inside the garage and eventually into our home.
Within 2 days of hanging a new bag there can be up to 40 live flies trapped inside. These little bags have been a game changer. Instead of getting 20 flies a day in the kitchen, we get 2. I spray the house flies with Zevo, (which I also buy/order from Walmart.
) Zevo is another complete and total game changer. I do not care for the smell of Zevo but it is not offensive to everyone in our family, only me, so I use spray Microban (which I also order/buy from Walmart) to wipe up the Zevo oily residue and dead fly.
Problems solved. You will be writing a positive review soon, too.

This product was outstanding and very easy to use! Within seconds I had the fly trap stuck to my window. I always had the hardest time catching fruit flies in my apartment! I have tried all types of home remedies but none of them seemed to work.
I came across these window fly traps and have had a great deal of luck getting rid of these annoying little pests that just cannot seem to go away! I will definitely be purchasing again in the future when needed!.

These are an assortment of my plants. I had to get rid of most of my plants a few months ago in an out of state move. At my new location, Lowe’s had these beautiful plants 75% off. I had to repot some.
The potting soil MG was AWFUL! I tried everything to get rid of the fungus gnats in the MG soil. I am still fighting the fungus gnats. It was amazing to see actual results in this spot. The device is easy to use.
It REALLY did attract the gnats in a short time. It was also very easy.
When I ordered this, it was for use outdoors off of my deck area. However, just before it arrived, my kitchen was swarmed with small flying gnats that were driving me crazy. When I read that this could be used indoors, I thought why not give it a try? Yep, it works! It really helped to get rid of the population of gnats.
I’m sure it will also be effective outdoors. I’ve used similar bug killers for many, many years, and they always work well. Note that you do NOT want to install this fixture near where you sit. you want it away from you as far as possible.
The light does draw bugs to it, so if you sit/hang it next to you, you’ll be swarmed. Too many people apparently make that mistake. When a bug gets into the grid, the snap of the power burst is LOUD.
I jump every time it goes off. So far I’ve only removed the bottom collection tray to clean it. Again, this product is very much like others I’ve used in the past, and based upon my experiences so far, I would presume that this will last a long time and will work well.
Catches hundreds of species of common nuisance or filth flies. The trap is baited for the most prevalent species including house flies, false stable flies, blow flies, blue and green bottle flies, flesh flies, face flies and many others.
The trap comes with a water-soluble pouch of powder attractant. When the jar is filled with warm water and the trap is placed outside, the attractant dissolves and activates quickly. For outdoor use only.
Directions for Use: 1. Unscrew lid and remove foil pouch. 2. Tear open pouch at tabs and drop inner packet into trap. 3. Add water to fill line. (Water will dissolve packet). 4. While holding lid in both hands, press up on the cone until the top piece snaps in place, creating an entrance for flies. 5. Replace lid securely. 6. Hang or place trap outdoors near a fly source. 7. Attractant will activate within 2-5 hours, creating an odor attractive to flies. 8. Wash hands with soap and water. 9. Empty trap and replace attractant when trap dries out or becomes full, or after 30 days whichever comes first. 10. After desired use and reuse, trap can be recycled. The jar is Pet 1 and the lid is PP 5. Contact your local recycling center to determine if these plastics are recyclable in your area. See pouch inside for storage and disposal information.

I live in Florida and the flies have been ridiculous the last month or so. Every time I open the back door one or two fly in. I saw this product on TicTok and figured I would give it a try. I purchased mine at Lowes for around 10 bucks.
It comes with a packet of what I can only describe as powdered horse manure. You pour this in the container and add water to the fill line. I had originally placed it on the back porch but have moved it to the back of the property.
It started working immediately. Besides the smell it seems to attract every fly in the neighborhood to it, hence why I moved it. It’s been out less than 4 days and we have about 3 inches of dead flies floating.
Not sure I will have the stomach to empty it and buy the refill. Definitely worth the purchase price.
I got a few of these in hopes of lowering the amount of flies around my barn and they exceeded my expectations! I hung them in a couple trees around the outskirts of my barn, to draw the flies away from the horses, and withing 24 hours the traps had attacted 100’s of flies.
Very effective product and I highly recommend. Already I can see a difference in the fly population around the horses and barn. Will continue to use these many seasons to come!.

Last year my yard was completely infested with flies, they were everywhere, they would get in my house and it was impossible to be outside and enjoy it. The flies were literally driving me crazy! I tried glue traps, sprays, homemade trap, even other store bought traps, they would catch a few but not nearly enough.
I just happened to come across the RESCUE FLY TRAP and figured what would it hurt to try them? They were pretty reasonably priced compared to other traps I had used. I have never been so happy to have just bought something.
The RESCUE FLY TRAPS are by far the best product for flies. Just hours of having the trap out there is already several flies, within a week its full or nearly full. We got so much relief with these RESCUE TRAPS around.
I will never use any other fly traps. Also, just beware the stuff that is used for bait stinks really bad, it shouldn’t be used inside or even to close to where you sit or spend alot of time outside.
It is very easy to set up and get put together. If you want to get rid of flies, use RESCUE FLY TRAP!!.
LOved using this product last year. We were amazed at how well it worked. The smell was terrible but well worth the outcome. We have tried using the refills and also buying new traps this year. The strong smell is no longer present and the trap barely catches a fly.
Were the ingredients changed? Not sure what is wrong, but it is definitely not working as it should. Can no longer recommend this product and we bragged about it to everyone last summer.
The RESCUE! Non-Toxic Disposable Fly Trap catches common nuisance or filth flies, hundreds of the most prevalent species including house flies, false stable flies, blow flies, blue and green bottle flies, flesh flies, face flies and many others.
Inside the trap is a bait that flies find irresistible. This attractant is comprised of food and feed ingredients, and other food flavorings generally recognized as safe. The attractant dissolves and activates when water is added to the bag.
Lured by the scent, flies enter the trap through the yellow top cap and drown in the water. Has been proven to catch up to 20,000 flies. goal is to design, manufacture and market the safest, most effective pest control solutions available.
Our products are the result of exhaustive and ongoing research and development, decades of experience and a commitment to solutions that respect the environment without sacrificing results. Established in 1982, RESCUE! Pest management products have never used poisons or toxicants to kill pest insects.
These really work. without fail. The only downside is the odor that they produce. If you can place it where the smell won’t bother you, then you will be in business. We have an outdoor smoke pit where we trim meats for cooking.
Last summer the fly situation was horrible. this year with these traps, the fly issue was insignificant; to the point that we never picked up a flyswatter this summer. I buy these in bulk now. I swap them out once a week.
If you have fly problems, this is definately worth a try.
Just add water as directed and hang. These do have an odor (gotta attract the flies!) so I put them as far away from the patio as practical, and downwind. But they do catch the flies! When full, I slip a plastic bag up from the bottom while the trap is still hanging, snap down the yellow opening, tie the bag off, and carefully place it in the trash.
Supposedly non-toxic, but you sure don’t want it to leak! I used this produce a couple years ago, then accidently bought another brand in similar packaging. That brand smells better, but is does not catch the flies like this product.
If you’re looking for a homemade fly trap that you can use indoors, here’s a great option. All you need is a jar, some sugar water, and a piece of fruit. Cut the fruit into small pieces and add it to the jar.
Then, add enough sugar water to cover the fruit. The flies will be attracted to the fruit and will crawl into the jar to get to it. Once they’re in, they won’t be able to escape and will eventually drown.
