20 Best French Door Refrigerator Under $1500 (2023 Updated)

My old refrigerator suddenly died at the hottest time of year. I was happy that my local appliance store had this refrigerator in stock for next day delivery. In the store the lighting looks very dramatic, as does the gray interior.

I also thought the separate middle drawer would be handy for storing some of the many vegetables we eat. All in all it is a very nice looking refrigerator inside and out, at a premium price. Above all it fit my kitchen refrigerator space exactly, which the ultra premium fridges are too big for.

After using the refrigerator for a month, I am a bit less enthusiastic about it. The back wall lighting is dramatic, but coupled with the gray interior, it’s quite dark in the fridge when you open the door, and much harder to see what is in there compared to my old model with a white interior and conventional lighting.

The middle drawer has settings for meat, snacks and wine, but not vegetables, and I find that vegetables don’t hold up well in this drawer unless sealed in airtight containers; so I have a lot less storage space for vegetables than before.

I don’t use the built in ice maker (I have a 7-stage water filter under my kitchen sink that produces much better quality drinking water) but the inside of the left door is almost entirely taken up by the water filter mechanism I don’t use, with only a couple of tiny shelves inside it for storage.

My old fridge had the ice maker inside the fridge and you could remove it if not used, a much better idea. One more thing about the ice maker: even though I have it turned off in Settings, there are two rubber seals on the inside of the left door that still channel cold air to the ice maker in the door.

Occasionally these don’t seal correctly when you close the door, causing ice to form around the rubber seals. Then there is way too much moisture inside the fridge. The wifi connectivity seems more of a gimmick than a useful feature.

How often do you want to change your refrigerator temperature remotely? The mobile app doesn’t tell you what the actual temperature is in the refrigerator compartments. I do like the fact that the fridge is quiet.

Finally, I wish I had bought the white model rather than the stainless steel version. On my old stainless steel fridge, you couldn’t see fingerprints easily, but on this one they are very obvious and take a lot of rubbing (must be in a horizontal direction) to remove.

So I give it 4 starts for now with the expectation that it will last for 10 years. My old Kenmore “Elite” lasted just 7 years, but it cost less then half this fridge. There is a different GE version of this fridge with a white interior and conventional lighting that costs several hundred dollars less than this are one.

It looks more basic inside and out but it’s probably a much better value.

Anything is an improvement over three months without a reliable refrigerator, so we’re generally pleased. The build seems very solid, and the ice maker output is adequate for our household. The middle convertible drawer is a nice feature — not something we necessarily needed, but it comes in handy.

This refrigerator replaced a 31 cubic foot unit, and so far we haven’t missed the volume we’ve lost. It’s accommodated our food and drinks just fine, although I can see where the freezer may get a little packed once we get back in the swing of freezing big-batch food items.

We decided to go with a Cafe refrigerator because we’d recently purchased a Cafe dual-fuel range and really liked it. The refrigerator’s build and functionality measure up to the range’s pretty well, but there are a couple of issues that are pretty aggravating, especially considering the cost.

– The refrigerator thermometer is not calibrated properly. My understanding has been that you want the food in the refrigerator cooled to 37 degrees ideally, and, at the very least, under 40 degrees.

When set at 37 degrees, this refrigerator cools to around 42 degrees — that ‘s actual temp of the food inside, not air temperature. When I spoke to customer service, they said to just keep turning the temperature setting down until my food reached the desired temperature.

Even now, with it set to 35 degrees, it cools to right at 40. It doesn’t make sense that a workaround is necessary to achieve the correct temperature, and I’m concerned that cranking the temperature lower and lower will have some negative effects long term.

– The ice maker is really messy. Unless you put a glass right up to the opening, ice goes everywhere when you dispense it, whether the setting is cubed or crushed. This leaves tiny water puddles all over the area where the glass sits and our floor.

It’s no good to have so much additional water sitting in the drain area over time, and it’s definitely not going to be good for our floors if we’re not careful. This is a nice enough refrigerator. It looks great and it has a very solid build — it certainly “feels” like you’d expect a $4K refrigerator to feel.

Beyond that, the storage areas and organization are well handled. Also, the bell-and-whistle items like the light wall and internet connectivity are nice adds. That said, it comes up a bit short in terms of its most basic functions.

We got 9 3/4 years out of a comparable LG model, which isn’t great. Still, those were 9 3/4 mostly issue-free years. Is this one an improvement on that one? The brand name says it is, but after a few weeks, I’m skeptical.

I bought this unit sight unseen based on the ratings. I was pleasantly surprised. I love the clean lines and sleek presentation. The handles are hidden underneath/to the side of the french doors and on top of the drawers.

Inside, the back of the unit has a single glowing panel, which I’ve never seen before; pretty and modern. The door alarm plays a delightful tune. I didn’t know it could fill any device with its autofill technology (displays the ounces) – which will automatically sense and stop, then play another tune.

It has two drawers: one vented and one sealed, and I swear that my spinach has lasted twice as long in the unvented, as it’s kept the moisture/humidity out. The freezer has 3 drawers inside, so you can tuck a lot away.

The middle drawer is a flex space, and you can make it frig temp, or a “soft freeze” at 23 degrees. It’s convenient for those larger party trays. It’s easy to clean. However, I no longer have young kiddos, so I’m not sure how this would hide tiny fingerprints.

There are a couple of disadvantages: I had to purchase the smaller unit (23 cu ft – because I have a wall on the left side of the frig) so the ice maker takes up a good amount of space on the left french door (though there is still door storage).

The freezer drawers do have additional space, but you can’t fill them with items that weigh them down, or they will get caught up with the others and pull them out together. Had I been able to wait about 6 weeks for my frig I could have gotten colored panels added to the front, but I needed it in 3 days so I got the basic model, which is still beautiful with its stainless steel color and glass surfaces.

Overall, I’m happy with this purchase.

We’ve enjoyed this LG French door refrigerator for nearly two weeks. It is a positive change from our previous LG side-by-side refrigerator. There is definitely more room in the refrigerator section and the moveable shelves allow me to tailor the space to meet my needs.

The freezer section is perhaps slightly smaller than out previous fridge, but we have a small chest freezer as well. Features: *We did not seek two ice makers but have really enjoyed having the freezer ice maker as well as the ice/water dispenser in the door.

*There is a drawer for deli items that goes the full width of the fridge. I love the spaciousness, but dislike having to open both doors to pull this drawer out. This feature exists in other French door refrigerators as well.

The only way to avoid it would be to buy a refrigerator with two drawers: a freezer drawer and a separate refrigerator drawer. *Lighting in both the refrigerator and freezer is excellent. *Temperatures seem to be true to the settings or even a little bit colder.

*The WiFi feature was not important to me. We live in a rural area and in spite of several attempts to connect the fridge with my phone, it doesn’t stay connected. *The exterior is stainless steel and really does seem more impervious to finger prints that our previous stainless steel fridge.

*Our previous LG fridge lasted 17 years. We’re hoping for the same with this new one!.

Purchased this French door Refrigerator on 12/21/21. This is our 1st French Door Fridge. Previously had Side-by-Side 27 Cu Ft. Concerned the LG 26 cu ft fridge might be too small – not the case. With the shallower depth, the LG fridge feels like more cu ft – can see everything better instead of hunting behind.

Specific features that we love: (1) Adjustable Crispers, keep all veggies and fruit perfect; (2) Lower full-width drawer in fridge portion makes everything easily accessible and keeps the meat and cheeses at perfect temp and humidity (NO CONDENSATION that can cause mold); (3) The 2 Ice Makers are perfect for our needs.

The Upper In-door ice maker makes plenty of ice and is just right for our day-to-day use. The Freezer ice maker provides a large volume of ice when we have guests. We had 4 visitors staying with us over the holidays and there was always plenty of ice for dinners, drinks and partying.

SERVICE EXCELLENCE: The local appliance store (Spencer’s Appliances) installer could not get the right front leveling foot to drop down and work correctly. Spencer’s claims they contacted LG to send a tech to fix the leveling foot – nothing happened for 3 weeks.

LG just sent me the “Review” e-mail with customer support phone number. I called, explained the situation to customer service rep (Ford) and he immediately set up an “LG Tech” to come to our home in a few days to fix the “leveling foot”.

Ford was courteous and pleasant with only positive-helpful responses – one of the best Customer Service experiences that I have had in a long time. I have also purchased an LG Microwave and an LG Oven, I feel very reassured that any issues with these other appliances will be fixed promptly by LG! Thank you LG, any time we need any home product, we will look for LG – you have won a CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!!.

Overall I am happy with the refrigerator. There are a few things that bug me: 1) Very limited number of available shelf positions 2) Inability to change the positions of the shelves on the doors. If the shelves were more customizable I would have given it another star.

3) Unable to fully open either of the 2 side-by-side drawers without opening both doors of the refrigerator. Which loses cold air much quicker. 4) The bottom drawer of the refrigerator doesn’t seem like it was designed by an engineer or tested by anyone who uses a refrigerator.

First issue with it, you can’t open it more than a single inch without opening both refrigerator doors. Second issue is it is incredibly deep for its height of about 3″ so you are unable to see what is in it without opening everything all the way up.

It has a nice top piece that covers the drawer so stuff can’t fall/spill into it and allows you to see about the first 5 inches deep into the shelf. However, you are unable to flip the cover up. If you could you could sneak things in and out of it by only opening a single door.

Besides those engineering mysteries we do really like the refrigerator. Makes plenty of ice in the door and in the freezer so we have never ran out of ice. The ThinQ app lets me know when it is time to change the water filter and the air filter which is so nice.

We have had the GE Profile refrigerator for one month, ordered directly from GE. We received the fridge within 5 days of our order. The purchase included install so it was moved and assembled for us.

The install team had to remove the 36″ front door to fit it through, it needed every inch of the opening. Install team was great, efficiently unpacked and attached all the shelves and handles. After the installers left we realized the dairy bin was missing.

I called the GE part line and the customer service person was very helpful and told me it was covered under warranty (I am guessing the 7 day warranty you have to return it) so she sent us a new part at no cost, it arrived in less than a week.

Overall we are very impressed with the fridge. We love the light wall, the autofill feature for water, the adjustable temperature drawer, soft-close crisper drawers, and door-in-door. It has plenty of space, I was a bit worried because I went and looked the the LG door-in-door compared to the GE Profile in Home Depot right before it arrived and it felt a lot smaller in comparison.

When it arrived and was plugged in with the light it feels much more spacious and impressive. Other reviewers have complained that the exterior is not fingerprint resistant, I concur it is not effective as I would have expected.

I never noticed fingerprints on my previous Maytag stainless steel fridge. I just keep the stainless steel cleaner nearby to touch it up, I think the lighting in the kitchen also impacts how noticeable it is.

The crisper drawer labels feel backwards to me, in my frig sliding the tab towards fruits reduces the size of the holes which I would expect for vegetables. I am going to check this out in the store to see if mine were installed backards? The Autofill is awesome, we enjoy that it counts the ounces as well.

It has never overfilled a glass, it will under fill certain cups like my small plastic kids cups but it actually works out better for us with small children. Autofill is also very nice to fill our ninja coffee maker, the tank fits perfectly in the space so it saves me from standing by the frig pressing the button for what seems like forever.

The ice dispenser is loud but I am sure it is a function of being in the door. It makes less ice than my previous refrigerator but it has never been an issue for our normal daily use. If you dispense a lot of water at once or consecutively you can expect the water will not be cold after the first 24 oz, this will be the same of other refrigerators it just depends on the size of the water reservoir.

Our drawer is set to snacks (37), it has managed to freeze a few drinks at the top of the stack and other items stacked near the back. It would probably be nice if you need super cold butter for pie dough.

Would be nice to be able to have finer adjustment to temperature in the drawer. I like the can bin for the drawer, it allows you to hold both normal and a couple longer cans, but be careful and lift it a bit when you adjust the bin position, I slid it over when there were a few cans in it and scatched the white drawer plastic a bit.

I also love the double freezer drawers it allows for easier organization and access. Overall we are very happy with our purchase, the real test will be the longevity of the refrigerator.

First off, we bought a PVD28BYNFS, but eventually received a PVD28BNYCFS. I have no idea what the extra ‘C’ means and have tried hitting the internet for an explanation, but cannot find one anywhere (that letter doesn’t seem to be on any of the decoders I ran across).

It took 4 attempts to get a refrigerator without dents in it, but as I don’t know at which step in the build/ship/warehouse/delivery to customer that the dents happened, I will not lower the refrigerator rating.

However, the part number being different might have been due to all those problems and just trying to get us one without dents. PROS – Very large refrigerator space. – In our old side-by-side of similar CU Ft, we had to continually shuffle things around to fit other things in (pizza boxes barely fit due to the width), but the layout of the bottom freezer just makes the refrigerator space much more user friendly.

– Adjustable shelves to ease usage. – Temps have been measured over the last month to ensure consistency – Outside is beautiful, and while it is not completely immune to fingerprints, they are very light and much easier than previous models we have owned to clean.

In fact, cleaning the outside is by far the easiest we have ever had. – Soft touch close doors are excellent, though I cannot be certain if they are fully sealed – The ability to just open the door is something I just kind of thought of as a gimmick, but we have really gotten used to it and it does help keep the temp while allowing easy access to things we use often.

– Interior backlighting is phenomenal – Auto-sense water has not failed yet and it is another feature I didn’t think was a big deal, but now I love it. – Runs very quiet, at least compared to our last refrigerator.

– We have never run out of ice, but we don’t really host parties where we expect to use a large amount of ice without buying bags ahead of time. – Very well built. Doors close with a satisfying seal that is strong enough that closing one side doesn’t cause the other to pop open (I tested other brands and this was something I saw over and over, which just didn’t make me think they sealed as well).

CONS – It is HEAVY. I mentioned it is built well and it feels like it, but that makes it very heavy. Moving it to clean is going to be much more difficult. – While the temperature is consistent, it’s not correct.

I am running multiple measuring devices 24/7 with min/max readings for rolling 24-hr periods. – Refrigerator set to 24 degrees (the lowest you can set it) and its stays around 37-38 degrees in multiple test locations without the door being opened.

It never gets to 34. Left it closed at about 50% capacity for two days without opening and it never got below 37, but it also never went above 39. – Freezer is similar. Set to -3 and it will typically hold between -1 and +3 degrees when un-opened and at about 80% capacity.

– So, while it holds temperature better than any other refrigerator I have ever owned, it is just not getting down to the temperatures for which I have it set. I assume it’s just a thermometer thing, but I would prefer it to err on the side of colder than setting rather than warmer.

– Freezer size is about the same as side by side and while it does hold as much or maybe more, we have to move things around more frequently. I do anticipate it to work and hold temp better do to the configuration, but we don’t care for having to dig around as much.

It’s a small con vastly outweighed by the ease of using the refrigerator portion. – You do have to hold your container up to the top of the ice dispenser as it has a tendency to hit the edges and bounce off.

This is a common problem with refrigerators, especially those were the toggle on the switch to trigger the dispenser is not up near the top where the ice dispenses. It is about midway down the bar on this model which means it’s almost a two-handed operation, but again, it’s a small thing that just takes getting used to and is very common.

– The part number thing is also very bothersome. Even when I search for it on GE it just brings me to the model without the extra C, but with no explanation as to why. There obviously is a difference, so why can’t it be found easily?.

I researched and compared refrigerators for almost a year before deciding on this GE model, and I am very pleased with my purchase. After having a GE side by side refrigerator 19 years, I decided to make the switch to a French door model and I love it! FD refrigerators by design provide lots of space because of the open shelving, and this frig does not disappoint.

It seems more spacious than any other FD frig I have had occasion to use – its huge! Compared to my side by side, this frig has plenty of room for large and small items, and has yet to feel crammed or cluttered.

My favorite part is the pullout “snack” drawer. Most FD refrigerators have the large pull out drawer inside the frig, and you have to open both doors to access it. With this model, its super accessible, with lots of additional storage.

I also really like the water auto fill, plus it tells you how many ounces it dispenses – a really nice feature. I also find the door in door to be super handy. However, I was disappointed that when open, it is not closed off from the main compartment and does let cold air out.

I worried I would not like the freezer, because I thought it would be a big bucket where food would get buried. However, I have found that it has been easy to keep organized. I did buy a few plastic bins to help separate food for both the frig and the freezer, and it has really helped to keep smaller items separated and accessible.

There a couple of things I am not fond of, but are not deal breakers. One, the door with the ice make is very heavy, and I find I have to be careful not to let it slam shut as it shakes the whole refrigerator.

Second, the cubed ice seems to always come out half crushed and it sprays everywhere. Pros: Extra roomy/lots of open storage. I had some minor issues where I had to contact customer service. Since GE is American made, I found their customer service to be stellar. They have been quick, responsive, and took care of my issue completely.

I was told some foreign made brands’ customer service could be complicated and that’s why I gravitated toward GE. Plus I also felt confident choosing GE because my last GE frig lasted a very long time, and I have done well with other GE appliances.

I like this fridge a lot except for a one design flaw. First, the look is beautiful and modern. It is quite roomy for a counter depth fridge. No issues storing a gallon container in the doors. I love that the handles are recessed so the side profile is flat and clean.

The ice maker has been working consistently with no issues in quantity or quality. Ice cubes are 1″ cubes that fit nicely into any reusable wide mouth water bottle. Comes with ice scoop – nice touch! Adjustable shelves in fridge and on doors gives lots of storage flexibility.

Pull out freezer door has an adjustable divider and a bonus top drawer that does not extend unless you pull it which is actually a good thing. In between the French doors and the bottom freezer drawer, there is an adjustable temperature controlled pull-out divided drawer that is very convenient – you don’t have to open the French doors to get to it.

I’ve been using the included ethylene absorber unit which is helping to keep fruits and veges fresh – another nice touch! Of course, you have to order replacement cartridges from Bosch and they are having a supply chain issue right now.

The water dispenser is on the inside and there is NO ice dispenser which may be a deal breaker for some but I love it because it gives the sleek clean profile I was looking for. The only design flaw in my opinion is the single bin drawer behind the French doors which runs the whole width of the fridge.

It is inconvenient to have to open both French doors to get to this drawer. For me, I would have preferred two single drawers so I would only have to open one of the French doors to get to one or the other of those drawers.

Also, the drawer sticks all the time. I thought it was off the track or maybe defective so I had a Bosch technician come to the house (within the warranty period at no charge). He double checked the drawer and said that it was not defective and it was properly installed.

He noted that there have been complaints about it and he understood my frustration but the drawer did not need to be replaced. I’m ok with that if it is the only thing I don’t particularly like about this otherwise wonderful fridge which I hope to have for many years to come! I don’t use a lot of the control panel features so I can’t comment on their functionality.

I haven’t yet had to replace the carbon filter which I will order from Bosch when I need to. I did purchase the Bosch stainless cleaner which works very well.

Buying the Bosch 800 Series French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator (B36CL80SNS) was perhaps the best appliance-buying decision we have made. Having suffered with the erratic/poor performance of another brand for 14+ years, we feel like we have died and gone to heaven with our Bosch refrigerator.

Admittedly our 28CF boat anchor fridge that the Bosch replaced was bigger than our new refrigerator, which we thought might be a detriment. However, what we have found is that food is so much easier to keep track of that we never have “lost” any food with our new fridge.

It keeps everything so fresh. We are amazed at how long all our food items last, particularly lettuce, other veggies, and all our fruit. It literally is weeks (up to 3 weeks plus for lettuce!) now versus our old retention period of just several days.

You can easily adjust the temp for this extra drawer to meet your personal needs for whatever you want to store there (drinks, produce, miscellaneous food, meat, etc. ). Plus the inside the refrigerator has plenty of space to for storing our fresh meat or dairy items.

We love that all the shelves are adjustable and that there is a nice extra little shelf that nestles our eggs very safely. The shelves on both upper doors hold a huge amount of bottles, jars, and milk cartons so we don’t have to have so much of these items stuffed around on the shelves inside the fridge.

The icemaker is a dream! Our old fridge made perhaps two dozen ice cubes per day. We always had to buy ice if we were entertaining. The Bosch makes so much ice that we can’t keep up with using it all! What a lovely problem to have! And the icing on the cake is that it is super quiet when it dispenses ice into the freezer container.

Our old fridge had water and ice on the outside of the door and left a mess of splashed water and “spit out” ice all over the floor and front of the fridge when we used it. With the Bosch providing water from a spigot inside the door, the outside of the fridge (and the inside dispenser area) is always clean with no water spots.

The inside water dispenses with no splash, tastes great, and is good and cold, all of which we love. The freezer has two extra rather flat drawers inside of the big drawer. One of these houses the container into which the ice is dispensed but there is also extra room in that drawer for other freezer items as well.

Admittedly, the freezer does not hold as much as our old boat anchor did but it is easier to find what we need inside the drawer (much more preferable to digging around in the drawer as we had to do with our old fridge).

It helps us to keep freezer food better organized with a smaller space to use. Since we have a separate upright freezer in our utility room, this was not an issue for us. The light inside the Bosch 800 Series French Door Refrigerator is bright and again just makes it so much easier to find food items inside the unit.

Even the outside of the refrigerator is easier to keep clean than our old fridge was. A simple wipe with a damp cloth usually takes off any smudges or finger prints that may be residual from using the doors.

The fact that this is a true counter-depth refrigerator with trim lines is another plus that gives us extra room in our kitchen, too. The only “con” thing that we have wondered about is that there is a bit of condensation inside the drawer that we are using for our fruits and veggies.

It is not a big issue but we have wondered if there is a way to correct that (we haven’t taken the time to pursue this with Bosch but will do so soon). We did not actually get to see this particular Bosch model as local stores did not have it in stock.

We ordered from Lowe’s online and just went on faith, the Bosch reputation, and the many positive reviews that we read online for this model. We are so glad we did so because the Bosch 800 Series French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator has definitely met our expectations and more.

Purchasing this refrigerator was a bit of an investment (although it was on sale) but well worth the money we spent. Thank you, Bosch, for designing and maufacturing such a quality product!.

Love my new fridge – reviewing after 1 month of ownership to be sure of my opinion! Modern appearance may not appeal to everyone but not having handles stick out is a cleaner look. Shows fingerprints easily but those are quickly removed with a wipe with by microfibre cloth.

Just be careful closing the door with an elbow as the indents can do a nice number on your funny bone if you jam it in there. I love the interior with the stainless back, well organized shelves/drawers/bins and boutique lighting – makes my condiments look like they are displayed in a high end jewellery store.

The air flow and temperature control is excellent with stuff in the doors at a good temperature. Even though we ‘lost’ 3 cubic feet, everything fits and is easily accessible. The clear door bins are generously sized and usable.

The Fresh drawer is great for seeing everything in one go from above without opening a door and then a drawer – just have to remember that my veggies/fruit are in this separate area. The fresh filter and the fridge seem to be keeping the produce fresh longer (e.

g. cilantro, green onions, lettuce are lasting longer). Everything is very well organized including the freezer which has 3 layers of drawers – helping you to find things quickly. We’ve organized it so the shallow one has our frozen fruit and smoothie prep, the second is for ice and small containers of frozen herbs, spice pastes, zests and the deeper 2-compartments is for meat, veggies and bulkier items.

I would highly recommend this fridge – who knew we could be wowed by this appliance. We haven’t hooked up the water/ice yet but are considering it. I don’t find the website very friendly to figure out finding a ‘bypass’ filter for this unit (only available on US site?) as many items are just marked as Accessory for Cooling.

This was definitely worth waiting six months for. If you are completely sick and tired of smudges and fingerprints on stainless and black refrigerators, this is the only choice. Not your grandma’s white fridge – super sleek shiny white, not the pebbly gross cheap looking white finish.

Since I did not want a water dispenser or an ice maker (they always end up leaking or breaking and take up half the fridge space and are the reason the compressor goes haywire and you end up buying a new fridge every ten years), I bought this fridge and turned the water option off – one little switch, that’s it.

I have to say it is almost on par with my 25 year old SubZero, which is still running and still looks new. It definitely has more options for shelving placement. Both refrigerators “breath” when you close the bottom freezer.

The only difference really is the glass shelving; Sub-Zero has beefier glass and less plastic around the glass, which is easier to clean. For a quarter of the price of a SubZero, and after 25 years of complaining every single day about cleaning off fingerprints, this is an absolute joy.

Works like it should, no cold or warm spots, solid build, easy temp controls, and no noise -absolutely no noise, quiet as a mouse, no running refrigerator noise, a single quiet click once in a while.

One helpful hint to everyone – buy the appliance wax from Fuller Brush Company to clean this (and everything else you own). Best cleaning product ever made. There’s a reason they’ve been selling the same wax for over 50 years.

It’s a tad pricey, but a little goes a long way and it keeps everything looking brand new and shiny; appliances, countertops, faucets, sinks, toilets, you name it. For not being able to see the fridge in person at time of purchase, (no one had one in stock to look at; not Best Buy, not Lowe’s, not Home Depot, nor any local appliance dealers), I am so glad I took a gamble and bought it online.

Wish it was still made in the USA though.

Pro Spacious, bright, configurable shelves and door baskets. Dampers to prevent the French doors from slam shut. Reasonably quiet operation (the replaced Samsung was quieter) It still works after 2 years.

Con Only the 2 front stands are adjustable for leveling, the rear rollers are not adjustable. I believe the fridge itself has the left side lower than the right side. I am unable to raise the left side enough to level with the right side because the left rear roller would be off the floor, and the left side is against the cabinet and not enough clearance at the top.

Because of the slight lower left side, the left door swings to full open unassisted; the right door require assistance to swing open. The bottom 2 trays are not removable! The tray for the 2 crisper drawers is weak, no support stand in the middle; it sags in the middle if heavy items are place on top, making the 2 drawers not align as a straight line (inner edges are lower than outer wedges).

If the tray sags too much, the right crisper drawer left bottom would hit the full-width pantry drawer air flow lever at the max flow position. The 2 door damper arms and the 2 fridge door open sensing switches setup don’t detect ALL the unclosed fridge door cases.

The inside fridge and freezer temperatures have wide variation. I understand there is the auto defrost cycle and thermo mass of the frozen food will impact the temperature. But for a digital temperature controlled fridge, the min and max freezer temperatures in 24hrs can vary by as much as 22c, the fridge is less, 2c.

I placed 2 wireless thermometers inside to monitor the inside temperatures. Many owners reported the handle comes off. The handles need to slide about 1/2″ to secure, tap it in with a rubber mallet if required (saw it on YouTube).

This will create markings on the door! I don’t think it is possible to install the handles toolless! Bad design, should have used screws. The control panel shows only the temperature setpoints, not the actual temperatures.

The control panel cannot be locked, it is always in the set mode. People can inadvertently change it. The drawers are sticky and difficult to slide. Apply food safe grease on the rails (both top and bottom).

The left hinge shroud doesn’t cover the hinge completely (~1/8″ gap from top of hinge to shroud bottom). The use of RFID water filter cartridge. This doesn’t matter to me as I don’t intend to hook up a water line.

A bypass plug should be included! Call GE to get a free bypass plug. Useless manual.

My 21 year old GE 36″ side-by-side gave up the ghost recently. I did a lot of online research and checked out brands, models, and customer reviews before going to the store to look at new fridges. I had several features I was interested in.

First, French doors. I know side-by-sides typically have more storage space, but the narrow compartments can be a pain for storing large items plus so much of the fridge is below eye level. Second, I preferred no ice and water dispenser in the door.

This feature crapped out on my old GE 10 years ago and was unfixable. Ice and water in the door are the most common fridge feature to need repair according to my appliance repairman. This new GE model has ice in the freezer so it’s easy to get to.

I’m going to put a scoop into it. The interior water dispenser was a bonus I could have lived without, but since it doesn’t take up any space, I’m happy with it. Third, maximum storage space in a 36″ wide unit.

This has 27 cubic feet total. Two other brands with similar features I was considering in the same price range had 25 and 29 cubic feet total respectively. I chose the GE which falls in the middle of those three because it has a better reputation for reliability than the higher storage volume brand with more bells and whistles.

And I chose it over the one with less capacity not only for the extra two cubic feet of storage, but also because the GE has well-lit clear bins in the fridge rather than the other brand with lots of white plastic on the drawers and bins that doesn’t allow the interior to be as visible or well lit.

It was just installed today so I can’t review its performance yet. Right now it’s running full out to cool down so I’m hearing the fan and a quiet high-pitched hum which, according to the manual is their new high efficiency compressor.

One tip: When the installer was getting ready to leave, I noticed the French doors were out of alignment (the tops of the doors weren’t level with each other). I asked my installer to level them and he did it easily with a ¼” Allen wrench.

The manual explains how to do it. But I’d recommend checking the door alignment while your installer is there and has the tools handy. Now I can’t wait to get it cooled down and loaded up!.

I love the in-door ice dispenser, I use it many times each day. I love the deep shelves in the other french door to hold two gallon bottles at once and that fit both milk and tea bottles. The milk and tea are also kept fairly cold on that self, unlike a fridge by a different manufacturer that I had to send back because the milk was staying at 46F (8C) and would go bad to quickly.

The in-door ice dispenser is supplied by an in-door ice maker. All other refrigerators I have seen with in-door ice dispensers have the ice maker taking one or two shelves of refrigerator space and feeding out through the door and tend to have problems with ice jams or door not closing.

This unit has a mini-flat-pack ice maker in the door itself that combines ice making, ice dispensing and ice crushing all in one. That pretty much eliminates problems with lining up the auger shaft with the drive motor in the door, jams in the auger, jams in the door, ice getting stuck so the door can’t close.

And seems to have reduced the amount of fridge space lost due to the ice maker. I am iffy about the ‘art craft’ ice made by the main ice maker. They are bigger, round balls of very clear ice with a flat spot on one side and a depression on the other.

Looks like the Death Star in ice sculpture. To get the clear ice they must be made slowly and you only get 3 (very clear) or 6 (pretty clear) ice balls a day. To make up for that slow delivery rate, they are much bigger and much colder than the door dispenser ice.

I am not happy with the noise. It is faint and only occasional, but when the fridge door ice maker checks it’s ice level or pops out a fresh set of ice cubes you can hear the little motor and gears clear across the room.

Others have said that they get used to it and don’t notice any more but I haven’t gotten there yet. Why not use pneumatic actuators instead of servo motors? You already have a completely silent scroll compressor in the refrigerant section, and probably a smaller one in the door ice unit.

Why not an even tinier one in the door to produce compressed to store in a bottle stuffed in a corner so that you can use small plastic air-cylinders instead of small, whiny geared electric motors to check for ice bucket full or push finished ice cubes into the bucket? I realize it might make a slight increase in manufacturing expense, but surely you can make that up in advertising how much more silent yours is compared to all the others? So the worst thing I can find about it is that you can actually hear it operating.

The rest is pretty nice.

I really like that this fridge is counter depth yet has a solid amount of cubic feet. Seems like most counter depth really cuts down on interior space. The look is very nice and the ice maker in the door keeps up better than I thought it would.

I go through a lot of ice! The “craft” ice is a nice feature. I don’t drink much alcohol which seems like that’s the purpose but I have to say these ice balls fit nicely into my various water bottles and because of the shape, they keep my water or soft drinks colder longer than typical ice.

Why I didn’t give 5-stars is for two reasons, you can’t change the craft ice to regular ice. So far I thought that would annoy me more than it does. Just be warned, I didn’t know that until after installation.

Second reason is for the door compartment design. Seems like the things I pick up at the grocery store just never seems to fit right. The really large bins in one side must be for gallon milk-type jugs.

I don’t buy anything that size and would like to see an option to add dividers or something so things like condiments can be place securely. If you don’t use up all the space, everything just tips over when you open the door so I have to put all those items in the main shelf area wasting so much space.

Overall, this is a solid upgrade and nice add to my kitchen remodel.

We’ve had this fridge for about four months now and I wanted to wait a while before giving a review. It is replacing a side-by-side that came with our property that I absolutely hated. there was never enough room in the refrigerator.

the wall down the middle of a side-by-side side takes up so much width. We also needed to have the counter depth. This new LG is bright and beautiful to look at when you open the doors you can see everything.

we love the deep vegetable drawers. We also love the large drawer where we put deli meats, cheese, cold cuts and I also like to keep yogurts in there. There is adequate freezer space. A few caveats…In the flat slim freezer drawer be sure to only put flat items that do not exceed the height.

Otherwise it will bit slide in completely and you may find that this will mess up the circulation of frozen air and ice-maker. We love the craft ice for making a cocktail. The ice and water upper dispenser also great.

What occasion in the upper icemaker cubes can get stuck in the pitcher that holds them. Especially when it is warmer and more humid in the house that seems to happen. You just need to open the compartment and shake the ice around a bit and that should alleviate the issue.

Overall very pleased. As with any appliance that you purchase, be sure to read the entire manual and instructions and follow them carefully. I see so many complaints from people because they did not read the booklet and instructions.

We’ve always had Samsung appliances and have rarely had issues with them, which is why it’s so disappointing to have to write this review. We ordered this fridge when our old one started leaking from the water filter holder.

We decided to upgrade to a model that had an external water and ice dispenser, and this was on sale with pretty good reviews, so we took the plunge. Delivery and setup was great. The team came on time and connected everything.

We ran into problems once the fridge started settling in. I had read some pretty dicey things about Samsung and its history with ice makers, but was under the impression that the issues had been resolved a couple of years ago.

Not sure if this was just a bad unit, but the ice bucket refused to stay locked in its housing. It constantly pushed out as the bucket filled up and I had to push it back in multiple times a day to avoid the ice melting and clumping together.

After doing this for a week, I called Samsung to see what they could do. They gave me instructions on how to properly seat the ice bucket, which I followed. The solve worked for less than a day. With all this frustration and hearing some rattling from the fan, I decided to exchange it for a comparable LG model.

The irony is that there’s a sticker on the ice maker that says it has a 2 year quality warranty. The refrigerator and freezer were great, and overall I’m still happy with Samsung as an appliance maker, but will definitely steer clear of their refrigerators until they can get their act together and produce properly functioning ice makers.

Everything works, from a functional point of view, the unit does its job. With any Samsung kitchen product, it is important that you register it with them for the purpose of the warranty. Even the service providers who perform repairs gripes about how Samsung will tell the customer that the item is covered under warranty and the service provider is then told that the repair is not covered.

I had to jump through hoops and a lot of back and forth, to get service for unit which was only 9 months old. Even the production date was less than a year and still Samsung had me scan the purchase receipt, it was so infuriating and delays that I decided to pay the service company for their visit to get my problem fixed.

All this because I did not register it with their very invasive registration process. These items may only affect my expectations of this refrigerator:The design for the purpose of my use is really lacking: 1.

Some shelves are fixed and cannot be disassembled. When something spills, it runs into the fixed shelf crevices and it takes a lot of effort to remove it. 2. The movable shelves are very limited as to how they can be configured.

3. The ice tray, you can’t remove the entire ice tray to empty it all at once.

I have had so many problems with this fridge. Ice maker keeps jamming up with ice. it eventually failed. Had to purchase a new module to get it going again. as for the fridge, the back panel where the coils and fan is located keeps freezing up.

had service guy in 6 times for this same problem, he kept changing parts and saying, give it a try, then had to call him again and repeat and repeat to eventually run out of warranty. so now every 3 months or so, i have to thaw the fridge, remove back panel, dry it all out and make sure the drain hold is flowing correctly and then i repeat every 3 months.

Oh, to last 3 month i had to turn the ice maker off or it would not last more than a month. it’s just a bad design where the ice maker is located in the fridge and they keep making this darn fridge still, the internet is loaded with comments about my exact problem and tips and tricks to try to fix it but it doesn’t work.

i contacted samsung directly, well that was a waste of time, basically just to get a service guy in, euh no, at 250$ minimum for a visit, no i’m done with that and samsung. Not saying other brands are better or worst but i’ve also had other issues with samsung with stove and dishwasher.

conclusion is, if you like have to do service calls, buy this fridge, if not move one to something else like i’m doing right now.

The refrigerator was delivered less than a month ago. 1. I followed the instructions and flushed the water dispenser and dumped both ice containers. The water dispensed from the frig tasted like plastic.

After calling the LG customer care number they said I had the wrong water supply line and it should be replaced. I checked online and a number of people said the water filter was not installed properly.

I turned the water supply off and checked the filter and it turned an additional 1/4 turn. I removed the water filter and it was dry, no water was in it. I reinstalled the filter and turned it to the final stop, flushed the unit again (for the third time) and the water is now very good.

2. The gasket on the upper door flapper was not seated properly. I called LG and they sent out a technician. The technician checked the frig and said the flapper needs to be replaced. He order a new part.

3. The freezer was full of ice deposits on the inside. I checked to see if the door gasket was blocked by anything and it looks fine. During the same visit the LG technician checked the freezer gasket.

The LG technician said the freezer gasket has to be replaced and he would order a new part. This is a nice looking frig but the quality control is very poor. Keep in mind this refrigerator is the MOST expensive frig I ever purchased and is only a few weeks old.

We purchased this refrigerator when our previous one died (determined to be a lemon). Having two ice makers (one on door, one in freezer) has been very convenient with the hot summer we have had. My only complaint with freezer compartment is that when ice bin is full, the freezer builds up a little frost.

The light on the water/ice dispenser on the door is much better than our previous refrigerator. It lights up for dispensing both the water and ice. Much easier to see how full your cup is. My large water cup also fits.

The crisper bins are very large, which has come in handy for all our garden produce. Use the alarm bell for open door warning. French doors need to be pushed shut. Door shelving fits tall soda and wine bottles and gallon of milk.

Easily adjustable glass shelving in refrigerator compartment is handy. Water filter is easily accessible and easy to change. Drawer below crispers is very handy for storing egg cartons, cheese, sandwich meat, etc.

All in all, we are very pleased with the layout and performance of this refrigerator.

This was a replacement for a previous similar LG refrigerator that failed after 3 1/2 years of use. That previous LG refrigerator was also a replacement for a like LG refrigerator that lasted only one year.

This new refrigerator needed to be counter depth. This limited our selection. The LG has many features that make it attractive, such as an in-door ice storage that takes away hardly any interior space.

Unfortunately, compared to our previous model, this LG has approximately 2 cubic feet less of storage space. It also lacks some of the convenient shelving and drawers of our previous model. Inside the refrigerator, there is only a single light panel.

There were several in the previous model. There is, however a second ice source in the bottom freezer, which can be turned on or off. In comparison with other refrigerator brands, the LG seems to offer more and better features.

My advice is to get the extended warranty, if offered.

We’ve had this refrigerator (Samsung – Family Hub 27. 7 Cu. Ft. 4-Door French Door Fingerprint Resistant Refrigerator – Stainless steel) for a few weeks now and have no complaints. The icemaker works and dispenses ice OK.

We’ve only used the ‘Cube’ setting (not ‘Crushed’) and have found that the ice can dispense at a slight angle with the broken ice pieces. This is easily overcome by raising your glass closer to the top, simple.

The best thing about this refrigerator for us is the 4th door/drawer. We can fit a ton of water bottles and other frequently accessed items here which is conveniently retrieved by the drawer. The worst thing about this refrigerator to me is the lack of space for tall items.

The only way to make more room for taller items would be to remove the top shelf, which isn’t ideal. The ‘flip-up’ top shelf allows you to store taller items but it’s narrow so you have to put things like milk jugs in single-file so it’s difficult to get at items in the back.

In my opinion this is annoying but it’s not a dealbreaker. The Hub screen is great for family calendars and keeping grocery lists. The kids like to play YouTube but we haven’t done much beyond that with it yet.

I’ve turned off the microphone as I don’t want to talk to it or have it listening to us. The cameras inside the frige are neat but not really useful to us so far. Best Buy delivery was excellent, I can’t express that enough.

The delivery guys were helpful, efficient and courteous. We discovered a couple scratches on the side, under the cardboard, that occurred in shipping. They took pictures and offered me a discount via gift card or a replacement.

Best Buy followed through and it was a great experience. Overall we are happy with this purchase and would recommend it when it’s on sale.

I generally love Samsung products but not this one. The fridge capacity feels really small. The shelf configuration isn’t very flexible. It looks like you could adjust the left and right shelves independently but you can’t.

There’s one shelf that retracts half way. If you want to put a gallon of milk in the fridge you have to retract that shelf and lose the storage above. It’s really stupid. 6 months after purchase the ice machine stopped working; it was under warranty so a repair man came out to fix it.

It broke again, and again, and again. In fact, it broke 5 times in the 2. 5 years that we’ve had it. However, this last time I noticed a little dripping of water and the ice was coming out slushy. That drip turned into a constant flow of water out of the ice shoot and water spout in the dispenser on the outside of the door and water leaking inside the fridge like crazy.

Water collects in the lower shelf of the door and I have to check it regularly to dump it in the sink. I’ve come home to water all over the floor. I have to keep 8 pieces of folded paper towel in the dispenser area to absorb the water and I have to change it 3 or more times a day.

This fridge is not worth the money spent on it! Everytime it broke I had to take a whole day off of work to wait around for a repair man, so I’ve lost a week of pay! It’s a shame too because the computer in the door is very cool.

I sure wish other brands had something similar. Now I have to buy a new fridge.

Finally my garage fridge went out and I could order a new one!!! Trust me, I have been waiting to upgrade but my refrigerators were holding up :/. For the longest time I was actually looking at the other manufacture with the see through door, but I changed my mind a few months before I needed a replacement to this one.

The Family Hub is great! It allows you to add food that is contained in your unit with expiration dates. This is a great asset when you need to clean out your fridge, just look at the app (either on your phone or the fridge screen) and see what has expired (or expiring soon).

You can even watch TV on this thing! I like that I can check out what is inside the fridge from my phone anywhere – this is really just a cool function. I haven’t found a reason to have to see inside my fridge but it makes for a great conversation 🙂 Shelves are convertible so you can accommodate taller objects when needed with out pulling out a shelf.

I highly recommend this unit if you are in the market for fridge.

The pros of this fridge: more affordable and attractive and stylish than any of it’s competition, for this size. Unfortunately. The cons of this fridge are basically everything else. In short, it stopped working completely 2 weeks after delivery.

Once, about a week in, I noticed that everything in the freezer defrosted. I assumed maybe I didn’t close the door all the way, and thought I’d give it another chance. Then the day before yesterday (13 days after delivery), the internal electronic thermometer said “37” and “0” which is what I set it on, but everything inside the fridge was warm.

One night later, things inside the fridge started spoiling, and the thermometer now was flashing “37. ” Freezer still said “0. ” Then a few hours later, the thermometer for the fridge actually said “49” and would not let me reset it to “37.

” While the thermometer for the freezer still said “0” everything inside was in fact melted. The rear panel of the fridge was very warm to the touch, I resigned to throwing everything out, and unplugged it, in case it was planning on getting even more broken.

A special “0” rating goes to Best Buy. They actually have this fridge in stock in their warehouse, which is 1. 5 hours away from my house. But they claim that they are unable to deliver it until 8 days from now, which is when they would deliver it if I had bought a new fridge today.

So basically they’re claiming that they’re unable to make any sort of accommodation due to the fact that they sold me a defective fridge. They are however really sorry that I will need to live with no fridge for 8 days.

I love this fridge! I found myself without a fridge somewhat suddenly and I was scrambling to find something that wouldn’t take months to get. I didn’t have a lot of options that would fit in my apartment, but this one seemed like an okay option.

Reader, it has been an AMAZING option. It’s very spacious, but has enough drawers and shelves to make it easy to organize. It’s easy to program the thermostat for both the fridge and freezer. I set up the app, but it doesn’t do a whole lot other than letting me see the current temperature and sending me alerts when the door has been open for too long (it also chimes in person when that happens).

But you can set up reminders about replenishing the food in your fridge/freezer in the app every x number of days too which some people might find helpful. I can only think of two cons: 1) it’s weird to not have handles on the fridge.

I’m getting used to it and it’s fine, but it’s weird to have to pull from the top or bottom of the french doors. 2) fitting stuff into the freezer is still a work in progress for us. The big drawer is a little awkwardly shaped for some items and the smaller drawer isn’t always big enough for all of the flat things like frozen pizza we want to store there.

We make it work, but there is a lot of shuffling around of things. We don’t use the water line, so I can’t comment on the ice maker. We do put our ice cubes in there, but we have to fill them up at the sink.

There is a lot to love about this refrigerator. I have had it for over two weeks and I have been pleased with the look, the quietness, and the ability to consistently keep our items cold. I didn’t know it had Wifi abilities, will look into that and what it adds to my experience.

Everyone comments when they see it, where are the handles, I think I love that the most – no handles to get dirty with finger prints and knuckle prints. But there is one thing I am very displeased about this unit.

The icebox area is extremely small. and with the ice maker it gets even smaller. If you like frozen pizzas – may be a challenge to house them in this model. We are retired and have little need for lots of groceries – it is just us two.

But when we had a family of five, I would have to invest in an external freezer to house our food supply if I had this model. We were forced due to the space allowance in our condo to this size of refrigerator.

I suspect if others are buying this size they too are in a downsize living situation and a small or smaller freezer would not be a major issue. But if you need lots of freezer space – please review before you buy.

Bought Whirlpool because made in USA and thought that it would be better quality than the LG we had died after eight years. After having this fridge for less than a year and a half, we have experienced many problems with it.

Right after delivery in February of 2002, we noticed that the upper left door was delivered and had a large mark/scratch on it. This was under the fingerprint repellant plastic coating. After many calls and emails back and forth took about took about six months to get replaced.

Not a big deal as this was a cosmetic issue and the delay was partially due to COVID protocols but after that were scheduled at least twice that service people were coming out to replace the door and didn’t happen.

Once they didn’t have the door with them and other time got delayed for some unknown reason. Finally got the door fixed although the hinge cover did come off the top of the door and had to put that back on myself.

A harbinger of things to come? Then the interior water cooling hose for the inside dispenser froze up twice. Was able to get that defrosted on our own after being told that it would be a month to get a tech to come look at it.

Now it looks like the temperature control module isn’t working. Called Whirlpool again today and after finally getting through to a person (don’t try to enter model, serial or phone numbers in their system over the phone, it doesn’t work) was told by a very nice service rep that they can’t get a tech out to look at it for two weeks.

Ugh! Meantime will likely have to shut the unit down and spoiled food will get thrown out. Anything such as produce that’s not spoiled can go into our old 34 year old Kenmore fridge in the garage, which is a godsend.

It is humming along out in the garage with no problems. Just wonder what is wrong with a company like Whirlpool that touts a ‘Made in USA’ image but can’t produce an appliance that will work for at least a few years? And when it doesn’t work, why customers can’t get a timely service call to fix it? We tried to buy a simple appliance without as many electronic parts or gizmos that can break, with no ice maker through the door (ugh) but are really disappointed in the lack of quality and lack service from Whirlpool for this refrigerator.

And would not recommend any of their appliances to anyone.

I love this refrigerator. I must confess, I wanted another side by side because I wasn’t sure about a pull out freezer but my husband wanted something different. I am so happy he changed my mind because this french door style is great.

Everything works perfectly, lots of ice, so much room, bright lighting, adjustable glass shelves, and it cools to the correct temperature and holds it. After ten years with a GE this is a marvel- even the door temperature is safe.

The black stainless is lovely! (Again, my husband). I really don’t mind the freezer drawer. I wanted a model with an interior ice maker- no mess on the door – and this is perfect. The ice is easy to access and just as easy to dump and make fresh which it does very fast.

I did not think I would use the interior water dispenser but I have been using it every day to fill the coffee pot – I think the coffee tastes better… Now, it is too soon to rate reliability on my fridge but I can say my employer installed this same unit in our kitchen at work.

It has suffered all kinds of abuse from 30 people using it daily for over five years. The filter has never been changed in all that time, no maintenance at all actually, and this fridge is working perfectly.

Based on this, I feel pretty confident about mine – time will tell and I bought the five year protection! If you want a quality refrigerator with a beautiful clean exterior and a bright roomy interior- did I mention I love that covered drawer? – this is the one.

My wife and I visited the ABC Warehouse in Novi,MI to buy a refrigerator. We were very impressed with the size of the showroom and the number of different appliances and floor models that were available to look at.

Cathy was our salesperson. She was extremely knowledgeable about the various refrigerators that were available. She was very patient and helped us narrow down our choices to the refrigerator that we wanted.

We bought the Whirlpool French Door with the bottom Freezer WRF535SWHZ Fingerprint Free. It is indeed fingerprint free, and you can still put magnets on the fridge to post pictures of the grand kids.

Everything went without any problems with delivery on time. The delivery men were very courteous and were able to exchange the existing refrigerator with the older one in the basement and remove it. The fridge has more room than what we expected especially since the model selected did not have the ice maker and water dispenser in the door.

You can also open each door separately. The ice maker is in the bottom pull out spacious freezer and the water dispenser is inside the fridge near the left door hinge area. The fridge runs much quieter than the old one and you can hardly hear it.

Just make sure you follow the instructions and install a large enough size water supply to the fridge to get an adequate flow from the water dispenser. My wife (and I) love it and we do not have to search or bend over to find everyday items.

I have had really bad luck with major appliances. The phrase “They don’t make em like they used to” has been a painful ringing in my ears as this is our third fridge in fifteen years which adds to the three dishwashers, major repairs to the stove and laundry dryer, finally replacing the dryer as well.

Bought from reputed Appliance companies each time, so I figured I’d take the chance this time and go against everyone’s warnings and get this LG. So far, out of the box, cosmetically, it is FAR superior than our previous GE Profile, which had MULTIPLE problems and cost us double its purchase price before it finally bit the dust for good, and our most recent Kitchen Aid fridge, which didn’t even last six years and also had issues right out of the box.

My reason for reviewing here, only two days after owning this fridge, is more about feeling duped. I kept in line with our previous French door/freezer on the bottom design preference but went with water on the outside this time, the past two had water on the inside.

I was elated to see it had the ice maker accessible on the outside but also an ice maker in the freezer as well. or so I thought. I mean, it has the bin that is FOR ice, and I asked mentioned to the sales guy when I saw it on the demo “Oh, that’s nice, it also has the ice maker in the freezer” to which he nodded in agreement to my rhetorical observation.

I read in the instructions that the freezer ice maker makes “Craft Ice” and it takes two days after initiating first power up for that to start producing ice. Well I’m impatient and went looking to see if it was thinking about it.

I knelt down and what did I see? NOTHING. There’s no second ice maker. So I went back to the manual. It, OF COURSE, pulled that old trick of “On some models” but that doesn’t change that the guy that sold it to me agreed that it had two and WHY ELSE WOULD YOU HAVE AN ICE TRAY THERE in the specific position, locked in place to catch ice, which labels of which direction to place it and all, if you aren’t making ice to spit into it??? ALSO, I defy you to find the other two model numbers listed on the manual in Canada, on the Lowes site or any of the available appliance vendors.

I found other models that specify “Dual Ice Makers” but they are all larger in width, and 33″ models are the max we can fit in our space. This is highly disappointing, as my kids are ice fiends and we use a lot of it.

Yes, I know that this page denotes in the title that it is “with Single Ice Maker” but I didn’t see this prior to purchase and went straight to the store and dealt with an actual human. Had I known this SLOW producing small door reservoir was all we were getting I’d have looked elsewhere for our latest soon to die major appliance.

The refrigerator is beautiful inside and out; I believe very few people would disagree with this. We like the door-in-door a lot, although it would be nice if more than just one of the shelves would slide up and down.

and the tiny, almost hidden shelf at the bottom is nearly useless. This does have measured water dispensing, but unlike the prior refrigerator we had, it’s a lot more manual. With the older one, we could just press the amount and it would dispense it.

With this one, you have to select the amount, but still have to hold in the dispense button the entire time. Unless you do not have any measuring cups, this feature is nearly useless. The thin in-door ice holder does indeed allow for more shelves on the left-hand door, but they are so thin themselves as to be nearly useless as well.

At least our prior refrigerator had some very thick shelves below the ice storage which were a lot more useful. I believe these complaints brings up the advantage long-time appliance manufacturers have over the relatively young LG: Those older manufacturers have had more time to figure out what works in their designs and what doesn’t.

While I really like the LG dishwasher we had installed earlier this year, I found the same kind of design issues that make it more complicated to load dishes, issues that didn’t exist in our prior dishwasher from an “old guard” manufacturer.

We have issues with both the quality and the speed of the craft ice production. It’s been more than a week since installation, and yes, I did dispense an an entire 2-1/2 gallons of water per the instructions (1/2 minute on, 1 minute off, etc.

) immediately after installation. All the ice balls produced are not spheres, they all have a pronounced indent on one side. The only way LG were able to create the photo they have in their advertisements is probably by hand-producing the craft ice balls.

Additionally, they claim that it will make three ice balls per day, which is already regrettably slow, but in reality it is much closer to three ice balls every 36 hours, that is, three ice balls every 1-1/2 days.

Were it not for the craft ice production issues—and note that there are quite a few other reviews that mention this—this would be a four star review. Note that I am checking the “No” on the question as to whether I would recommend this to a friend, but realistically, it’s more of a question of whether they care about craft ice production or not.

If they do, then no, I would not recommend it; otherwise, yes.

My wife and I purchased this refrigerator approx. 3 years ago. I do not do reviews as soon as I get a product because let’s face it, new out of the box just means you liked it, you bought it right? With this in mind my goal is to provide an honest review having had the product for awhile.

Overall we love the refrigerator, there was a problem with a dispenser microswitch which LG went above and beyond to fix. Their customer service is excellent and we own several LG products because of this.

The refrigerator is a replacement for another brand that was peer in terms of cost and features, and only lasted 10 years. This is obviously a concern as the cost of appliances in today’s market place should provide a reliable product for much longer.

If not for the great customer service of LG, I would have had an extensive repair bill for an appliance that was only 3 years old. I will say that this refrigerator replacement is a direct result of the previous manufacture failing on their products customer services.

My other concern in regard to the LG, is the products engineering. The part that failed could be purchased for a very reasonable cost. However, you cannot get to the microswitch without damaging other parts of the refrigerators dispenser, I could have easily fixed the switch myself had I been able to get to it.

I still gave this product a 4 out of 5 stars because I believe technology is ahead of reliability. My hope is that the engineering community understands this and the various companies either extend their warrantee or engineer the product to where there is greater access to component areas.

I would still buy this product for myself and would recommend the product to a friend as I believe all products regardless of the manufacturer could experience the same problem. In regard to features, the “knock to see” feature of the door is just awesome.

My grandkids can knock on the window, see what’s inside and make their decision without the door being left open for an extended amount of time, that and it’s fun for them. The door is light and access to drinks is easy for them, they do not have to reach inside the unit, everything is right there.

It is a great feature. The unit itself is very nice, it goes well in our kitchen and the display on the front is easy to see and read. We do not use the internet features, that was not a selling point for us, others may find it useful, and if you are considering this unit, I’d encourage you to become familiar with the features to see if they meet your needs.

We purchased this refrigerator in March 2022, and it has been one of the worst decisions we have ever made. I wish so much I had read all the customer reviews before we purchased this expensive appliance.

My biggest complaint is the very loud noise it makes 24 hours a day. Three weeks after delivery, I called Maytag, who sent a technician to our house. He admitted that the freezer was not reaching zero degrees, so the motor is continually running, and that this was a factory defect.

He advised us to return it to the retailer, which we tried to do, but they did not accept returns after two weeks of purchase date. The technician returned and recharged the refrigerant, which did not make a bit of difference.

The technician came to our house a total of FOUR times, with no results. Every time, the freezer had only reached 15 degrees in spite of it being set at 0. Obviously, something is wrong, which causes it to run continually to try to reach 0.

We currently own three other refrigerators, in our homes, none of which emits the loud, ever-present humming sound of our Maytag. I have spent hours (mostly on hold) talking with Maytag employees and their managers, with no satisfaction or results.

Besides the product being trash, the behavior of the Maytag representatives have all be rude and condescending. While the repair person they sent out behaved fine, they never seemed to listen to him or consider that there is anything wrong with the fridge even when he reports there is something wrong.

We are extremely dissatisfied with this product and will NEVER purchase another Maytag appliance! BE WARNED. Their standard answer to all poor reviews is a joke – we will send someone out to fix it. They send someone out, but then never consider what that person says about the problem with the fridge.

The fridge works well enough. It gets plenty cold enough, so much so that part of the fridge compartment freezes. There are some confusing design flaws, such as the pivoting edge on the left door doesn’t have a detent, so occasionally it smacks into the right door when trying to close it.

I just trained myself to usually close the right door last and it’s not a problem. The ice maker filter cover sticks out a ways into the compartment, so taller items like milk jugs hit it. Yes, I could lower the shelf, but that would make the shelf below it completely unusable.

There’s a reoccurring flaw with the ice dispenser deflector where it gets stuck on crush mode, and you have to pull out the ice bucket, clear the jam in the door rod, and then make sure it’s set correctly during reinsertion.

Love the full width meat and cheese drawer, though the lid keeps popping off randomly. It pops right back on, but it’s still a nuisance to keep picking it up off the floor. I really like that it has a bottom freezer.

And those drawers work great. The walls and doors of the refrigerator are comically thick. It’s ridiculous to waste so much internal volume on the insulation for such minimal efficiency savings. I could say more, but the bottom line is: I expected better for this price point.

We bought our fridge directly from Maytag. This is our first bottom freezer/french door refrigerator. The delivery service, setup and old unit removal was an awesome value Our delivery guys were awesome.

I wish the water filters lasted longer and that the water dispensed faster. We drink a lot of water and find that we need to replace the filters every month or two. But it does its job well. Our food stays fresh much longer than our older refrigerator and it is easy to find things in the unit.

I do wish we had bought a larger model. When we purchased it, we thought we were going to be empty nesters. But with COVID we have 5 adults in the house now and we did end up getting a deep freeze to increase our storage.

All in all, I would definitely recommend and will surely by Maytag again based on this experience. The reason I did not give it five stars is the filter size is so small, the water dispenses too slow for our liking and you really have to pay attention and make sure that the doors and drawer are getting closed all the way.

But it does have an awesome alarm feature to remind you that the doors are not closed tightly.

I have owned the predecessor to this model, LFX25978, for about 10 years. We had the compressor replaced, like most LG refrigerators unfortunately, as well as the center bar between the two French doors.

Otherwise, it served us well until May of this year, when a storm caused electric event fried the poor thing. I ordered the current model, LRFXS2503, to replace it as we are limited in our choices since the space is narrower than most models.

This is a comparison. • The shelves in the new unit cannot be changed from right to left as in the old and the brackets as well as the shelves seem a great deal flimsier. So, if you prefer your adjustable shelf to be on the left you cannot.

• The current unit has two fruit/vegetable drawers in lieu of the three in the old unit. I came to prefer the three drawers but this would be a personal preference. • The ice maker in the left door is still the same and a great feature, though perhaps only for a small family.

• The delivery of the ice and water are from the same location in the current unit whereas the old unit you had to move the glass from the ice delivery to the water delivery port. Here you need to press the various buttons for what you want.

I liked having the pull-out ledge on the older unit for larger containers to rest upon, the current unit does not have this. • I have not been able to find it, if it is indeed a feature, but the current unit does not seem to have a way to shut off the open-door alarm.

This is particularly annoying if you are cleaning the refrigerator. It is possible that LG meant the Sabbath Mode to substitute for this, but then the interior light goes off as well making it impossible to see what you are doing.

• The right-hand door on the current unit is incredibly difficult to close. You cannot just nudge it closed as with the left-hand door and it takes more than the usual effort to close it and the open-door alarm is always going off.

This door quirk is really annoying. • There is no butter shelf in the new unit’s right-hand door only three shelves, whereas the old one had the butter shelf as well as three other shelves. It does seem that the door shelves on both sides are a bit deeper on the current unit.

• The freezer door handle moves downward and then pulling to open the drawer and feels very flimsy. The older model was more substantial and just required pulling. The interior of the freezer compartment seems similar otherwise.

• The front panels of the current model allow for magnets whereas the older model did not. We have only been using the new unit for about a week and it seems alright. However, given the very obvious decrease in the quality of the materials used on the new unit, I am disappointed.

Side by side with the old model, the new one just feels cheap. Given the space restrictions for a refrigerator in our kitchen, there are only a few French door models with ice and water in the door made that will fit.

I really did not have much choice. Had another brand’s model been available I may have given it serious consideration. Time will tell if the performance of this LG is good and reliable or disappoints just like the quality of its materials.

As to the vendors who sell LG, my experience at the blue box store was horrendous and whilst the orange box store was much better, their 3rd party delivery and set up reflects poorly on them.

Pro: Spacious, clean looking, 2 ice makers, drink compartment is handy for butter and drinks only (maybe bread too). Wifi feature is neat and checks for consumption and also how many times a day the fridge/freezer door has been opened.

Cons: The drink compartment is a chiller as it won’t get to 37F (confirmed by tech). Mine currently reads about 5F+ from main fridge at ~42F. The water tastes a bit funny (carbon taste) but ice is okay.

I think it’s the filter that it uses (we are used to ceramic filtered water). Door ice already got stuck 1 time (you have to dislodge it from sticking to sides of tray. The top chiller door tray is almost unusable as you can’t move it and it’s too high up.

Just had a LG tech come out and hope this clarifies some issue for others looking at newer fridges. 1) The compressor cools the freezer. So setting the freezer colder will run the compressor harder. 2) The temperature in the main fridge is controller by another device that allows cold air from freezer into the fridge.

3) It is normal for the freezer to swing up to 20F+ or even higher when in defrost mode but the freezer foods should never feel mushy or soft. 4) the fridge temperature should not swing like that. I confirmed with a temperature probe in water, fridge thermometer in drink chiller, and also a wireless thermometer that measures temperature high/lows for freezer.

I was concerned about pushing the fridge temp to 33F to achieve a 37F internal temp of fridge would shorten the compressor lifespan but it’s not the case since the freezer is fine.

I canceled another order and waited 2 months for this refrigerator because of the features. I purchased the white color because my kitchen has white cabinets and it matches my GE microwave perfectly! It really looks classy.

I like the split shelfing system (though you can’t stagger them) and the quick space shelf that allows me to put tall items in. We actually have the shelf retracted at all times with milk & juice in front, yet still have that short shelf in the back for can drinks, big food jars, etc.

I like having the option to dispense cold water when needed even though we drink room temperature water most of the time. I only wish it was a one hand operation. It would’ve been nice to push in with your glass to dispense and let go when you want it to stop.

With this model, you have to use one hand to hold the glass and the other hold the button down to dispense until you want it to stop. This design to me is a bit dated. Good thing we don’t use it often enough to be a problem.

I also purchased this model because of the ice maker which my other fairly new fridge didn’t have when we moved into this new house. After receiving the fridge, I realized how much space that took away from the freezer storage space.

We were limited with the size of the fridge because the space only allowed for a fridge that was 33″ wide. The freezer deffinitely could be designed better. I’ve already found some small things that fell out and got underneath the fridge a few days later because there are wide hollow spaces around the outside of the freezer bin.

Those are lost spaces that could be used as freezer spaces. I didn’t understand why this fridge was 2″ deeper than others with the same width and cf. I’m 5′ tall and my arms can only reach so far back on the top shelf.

We had the space to compensate the depth, so overall it was a good decision for what we needed and what we can afford. We’ve only had this fridge for a month and a half and so far no problems with performance.

I bought a French door refrigerator to replace a similar GE Profile refrigerator after 15 years of good service. The new refrigerator design is not as useful to me as the previous design. 1] The full width food drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator requires BOTH of the French doors to be opened to access the contents.

2] The limited options for shelf placement does not allow standard height milk and juice bottles to fit between the shelves. The top shelf that slides back halfway must be slid back for the milk and juice to fit.

In the previous model, the shelves could be placed so standard height milk/juice bottles fit without using the slide-back feature. 3] The top shelf cannot be placed as high as the previous model which contributes to the issue of milk/juice bottles not fitting between the shelves.

4] I miss the soda can basket that hung beneath one shelf. I kept the old soda can basket shelf from my previous old refrigerator in hopes of using it in the new refrigerator. However, the new style of shelf supports is not the same as the old refrigerator.

5] The in-door baskets require the small narrow basket to sit at the bottom of the door and a larger, deeper basket to sit above it. This makes it difficult to access the contents of the small basket since the larger basket in the way.

6] There is no in-door basket with a lift-up door which usually sits at the top of in-door baskets. The top basket is hard to access because you have to reach over the basket way up high to access its contents.

Two features of the new refrigerator that I am enjoying are the filtered water dispenser and the ice maker.

Got this delivered a few weeks back and am pleased so far. Couple things I ran into though: For the install, they would not hook up my fridge to the copper line, so they made me buy the hose. The one that I got was way too short to reach, so I ended up having to order another 20 foot hose.

No big deal. I hooked it up, and followed the instructions to get the air out of the line, draining out a good amount of water to clear out any debris or dust or overall nastiness of the hose/waterfilter, etc.

After running the water for the noted amount of time, everything seemed good to go. So I let the fridge get down to temp, the ice maker to kick in, and the next day – I went to use the water and nothing came out.

After reading the manual, it said to look at the display for the waterfilter. I did, and it showed “LEAK” – so I opened up the waterfilter, and some water came out. I completely removed the filter, dried it off, inspected the housing it sits in for any breaks or issues, and didn’t see anything.

I reinstalled the filter and it still showed the error. I then unplugged the fridge to see if that would do anything, and it did not. In any case I ended up calling the big box store I bought it from, and the lady said since it was 3 days since I had the unit, they would not be able to help and reach out to GE.

Frustrated, I waited a day and planned to call them later in the week. Low and behold, 2 days later the error went away, water worked once again, and the ice maker kicked out some ice. Not sure exactly what was wrong, but it did correct itself over time.

I assume there are sensors in there that may had gotten wet or something, and until it dried, would continue to throw the code. Either way, I thought i would share this incase someone else runs into a similar issue.

Other than that, I have no complaints about this fridge. It is much deeper than our last, more freezer space, and an overall quality feel and appearance. For the money, and compared to many others I researched, this was a really solid choice.

I am hopeful to get 5+ years out of it.

We’ve had this fridge for about a month, and we have very few complaints. Positives: – Capacity is enormous. You don’t really understand it unless you are using it day-by-day. Going from a smaller fridge up, it’s like you double what you could store before.

We have dedicated shelves for leftovers – not just in general, but per person. It’s kind of ridiculous, and great. – All the features generally work well. I really like the door alarm – it’s key given child attention spans.

Also, the fact that you can remove the ice in a bucket if you need a whole bunch is really convenient. Finally, I’ve never had a fridge that was smart enough to stop cooling every time you open the door – it seems very energy efficient.

– I haven’t had the fridge long enough to change either the air or water filter, but the process seems straightforward, and I was able to subscribe for the water filters, and I got 5 years worth of air filters.

Should be good for a while. – Once you have it going, the ice maker actually works pretty quickly. Startup is the annoyance (see nipticks below). – The water filter creates good tasting water. Also, the water filter status is very easily tracked.

Actual complaints: – The fridge did not come with a butter enclosure (top shelf on the right door, look at some of the pictures). It also did not come with a bottom shelf for the right door – it comes with one, but we use it on the left door.

You need 2 to ideally fill out the fridge door shelves. It’s not a major issue, but it’s not ideal. We’ll be looking into getting those. – I would have preferred the model with separate water/ice dispensers, and there’s a good reason for this – in the combined version, the water dispenser (the tube where the water comes out) is physically in front of the ice dispenser opening.

Given that the water tube is much smaller than the ice dispenser opening, it’s actually almost to the very front of the dispenser recessed area. You wouldn’t think about this, but the result is that if you have a narrow glass (e.

g. a water bottle), and you push it in against the dispenser paddle, chances are the water will actually come down in front of your container. That means for narrow containers, you have to 2-hand it; e.

g. , use one hand to hold the container in the right place, and the other to push in the dispenser paddle. Which is of course doable, but if we’re talking about a “perfect” appliance, this inconvenience should really dock a half star.

But since I can’t do 4. 5 stars, I’m willing to keep it at 5. Nipicks: – When you first set up the water line, the directions say to make 3 full batches of ice and dump them before you use it. At this point, it takes a while to do that – usually 2 days per batch.

So you don’t (or shouldn’t) get ice for about a week. Once you get through that though, it’s generally quick, and since it refills whenever you get ice, it generally stays full unless you need a ton of ice for some reason.

– Speaking of the ice, you are recommended to use the ice regularly to keep it from becoming one giant frozen block. We do this, so it’s not an issue, but if you rarely use ice, it could be an annoyance.

– Another thing about the dispenser area – it’s actually a bit shorter than you might want, for taller containers like water bottles, or a refill section for a coffee maker. So when you go to refill them, you have to angle them when you put it in, which can be annoying (especially given the location of the water dispenser, discussed above).

– The only loud part of the fridge is when the ice dispenser drops ice into the bucket. You will hear a loud hum and then the crash of the drop. You get used to it pretty quick, and as long as the bucket stays filled it doesn’t happen much, but it’s worth mentioning as a nitpick because it tends to be very quiet otherwise.

– The air filter tracker was a bit of an annoyance to put in. You kind of have to balance it in place and then close the door really quickly. It seems like they should be able to form a dedicated pocket in the door so that it’s more convenient.

Final note – one thing that I saw in multiple reviews was the taste of water when you hook up a new braided steel water line. After reading those reviews, I made sure to run water through the new line I purchased (just for a couple minutes, really) and I never had that issue.

We are happy with the taste of the filtered water we get.

I bought this in June 2020 after my Kenmore (that I paid $3000 for) died after 7 years! After extensive research (but also limited availability due to pandemic) decided on this one (I knew I didn’t want LG or Samsung due to many issues they have).

We paid $3000 for this. We didn’t want bells and whistles – just something that would last!!! Whirlpool had good reviews. Last week, however, it stopped cooling (both freezer and fridge). Checked manual and tried their troubleshooting – nothing worked.

Manual states 5 year limited warranty so I thought we’d be ok (have to use Whirlpool designated service company. Called Whirlpool (on hold 15 minutes) and explained problem. Couldn’t get appointment for 3 more days.

Already frustrated because food was thawing and most had to be thrown out – tried to save as much as we could using coolers. So waiting 3 more days was frustrating. Service tech came on Monday. But unfortunately the call representative wrote down problem as running too cold (NOT the not cooling part).

He said it was a starter and capacitor. And here’s the kicker – its NOT covered by the 5 year limited warranty. WHAT?!?! This is 1 1/2 years old and isn’t working – and now we have to pay for a service call, parts and labor?!? I decided to call Whirlpool back to see if they could waive the parts and labor and be compensated for some loss of food.

I was on call for 2 HOURS – they agreed to take care of the parts but that was it. We are still waiting for our service call (which was postponed until Monday now due to snowstorm) – so now we have been using coolers for 1 1/2 weeks.

This is crazy! I don’t normally write reviews but I felt that consumers need to know this. I thought Whirlpool was a trustworthy appliance company. I am extremely disappointed.

My Whirlpool I expect to have much less trouble with then my previous LG, which never kept the right temperature and was repaired a number of times in its 10 year life span. Temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer on the Whirlpool are exactly what the display is set at.

The lighting in the unit is excellent. The Whirlpool other then that is a nothing burger. Plastic drawers are found on the most inexpensive refrigerators, I was hoping for more on a $3,000 refrigerator.

The doors on the LG were more substantial and heavier. This is the only refrigerator – not even the salesmen knew this that is either stationary (cannot be moved) or if you lie on the floor with a socket wrench and screw the legs upward, you can then move the refrigerator on its wheels to get behind the refrigerator to clean the floor and vacuum the units vents periodically.

You must afterwards put the refrigerator back in place and lower the legs, again lying on the floor with a socket wrench making sure the refrigerator is level. If not when you open the freezer drawer the refrigerator comes along as well.

The freezer drawer slides in and out not smoothly at all. The Whirlpool is also noisy, making strange but normal, I was told noises when running. One such noise sounds like a telephone. I would recommend Whirlpool as it is made in America and works, but not this refrigerator.

I only went with the LG brand of refrigerator because it was the only brand that made full size French door style refrigerators under a height of 70 inches to accommodate the clearance i had under my cabinets.

The instaview feature is a novelty. I rarely use it but due to global supply issues no stores had this refrigerator without the instaview available. For some reason LG made the the right door (instaview door) with limited swing action which severely limits the opening when only the right door is open.

So basically to get anything out of the refrigerator you need to open both doors which lets all the cool air out unnecessarily and the unit has to expend energy trying to reach the set temperature again which costs the user more money in electricity.

It completely undermines the whole premise behind the instaview model which is to limit the exposure time the door(s) are open. Also, you cannot pour water/ice while the instaview door is open. I feel you should be able to do that.

I understand the door that has the icemaker not being open while getting ice, but the adjacent door (right/instaview door) should be able to be open while getting ice on the other door. Lastly it is completely unfair to have to get the top of the line version to get the retractile shelf and adjustable height door bin.

Those features should come on all the models. It’s like having to buy the top trim model of a car to get adjustable seats. Without having those features you run into the issue where tall bottles cant fit in the refrigerator without laying them down which I hate doing!.

Before the 2019 Thanksgiving holiday sale at Lowe’s I began my research on which appliance brand I would buy for my family of 4 as well as show off since hey, it’ll be a new package deal. I based my decisions on options and upgrades available with the sale.

For me it came down to what precious buyers rated LG appliances versus other like brands in the same price category. I looked at how many would make their purchase again, star rating, breakdown and compressor or motor issues and lastly the percentage of purchasers who would recommend their LG appliances.

Back then it was 90% versus the other brand who also had a screen on their door at about 65%. I made several trips to the store to look over both brands and I even brought a few items to see how they would fit inside.

I pulled the trigger and bought our LG appliance suite and opted to get the mid level models for the dishwasher, stove and the higher end refrigerator. All in stainless steel fingerprint proof. Glass door, dual ice makers, adjustable hinged shelves and dual freezer draws.

I purchased the extended warranty at the register for added comfort because I knew I’d need a new ice maker as we all use ice in our drinks religiously. The dishwasher is a hit as it’s sleek with no outside handle.

AND sooo quiet. It’s like a whisper in terms of decibels. The convection stove is an energy saver and took getting used to as it cooks more thoroughly than our last one which was not a convection oven.

And get this, you use water to clean the oven. NO smelly chemicals anymore. The range is sleek and beautiful as we marched our kitchen remodel with rhe appliances the following year. The trophy in the kitchen is the refrigerator hands down.

The door in door feature is used dozens of times a day and it saves us on our energy bill and the inside stays cold. Looking back on this now, I would buy this set again even if it’s not on sale. Fast forward to Monday Nov 1 2021.

The ice maker was replaced free under the warranty. I asked the technician a loaded question, which washer and dryer combo would he buy this sales season. He grimaced and said whatever one his wife wanted.

I get it I said. So I rephrased my question, which pair has the least problems when he does a trouble call? Which pair has the best motor and bearings or has the least computer issues like the mother board? He smiled and said he can’t be biased but pointed up at the LG emblem on the refrigerator! I said thank you, I figured as much but you know these appliances from working on them versus I who does not.

We’ll be purchasing the front loading pair, electric dryer and washing machine in stainless steel by Jan 1. I would recommend these appliances to those who want the best value for their money. Unfortunately I am outside with my dog Duke and not home to take pics of our new kitchen and LG appliances.

We had to buy a replacement refrigerator with ASAP. I fell in love with the set up of this refrigerator in store but had to look in a nearby city to find one available same day. I have 6 kids so having the easy access door that helps keep the cold in the main fridge is a big positive.

We keep the items they use most in the door. The kids like tapping the front to turn the light on and see what is inside also. I love the compact ice machine that doesn’t take up much space in the refrigerator and door.

The door shelves are actually usable for holding condiments because of this. We have found the sdjustable shelves are handy when we have more drinks and need the height. The freezer holds what we need and the extra ice my kids love.

The warning beep is nice as it let’s us know if our kids are just standing staring into the refrigerator or left it open. I love it has a lock on the water and ice in the dispenser in the case our youngest decides to play.

The only issues I have is that my kids constantly leave handprints and so forth on the outside. It is easy to clean but doesn’t stay clean (not really the manufacturers fault). The online feature is ok.

I didn’t buy it for that but interesting to see how many times the doors were open and average Temps.

Well let’s start off by asking Wow what do I call this product? It’s too sleek and stylish than a normal refrigerator Has way more options Creates its own look in any kitchen Provides way more options than other refrigerators have ever done before it.

I think it’s set a new bar in the industry and boy will companies have a hard time to get thier. I’ll go over a normal scenerio with you and all the times our new refrigerator came into play. So it’s 2pm my mother gets notified that the milk is running low so she texts me to grab more on my way home on the screen as she walks into the kitchen she’s greeted with a abstract painting and as she opens the door the screen welcomes her to the date, weather, and her ring camera which will come into play a little later.

Switching screens to the Samsung TV app she watches unloved mysteries will fixing her grandsons favorite meal as he is about to get home from preschool, finding all the items easily in the deep space inside that shines bright when you open the elegant black door panal is a treat every time she says! So back to preparing the meal the mystery on the refgerator screen is getting very interesting when the alert on her screen comes on that the ring camera sees a yellow school bus arriving with her best friend and partner in crime so she goes to the door to great him and doesn’t miss out on making a warm meal because she’s able to keep up in the kitchen without the worry of missing the schoolbis arriving.

It’s these things plus a plethera of other options that make it a necessity now in our household to have Samsungs best. Their is really no better option than this refrigerator with options like choosing what you want the middle section to be a fridge or a freezer or notating on the app from anywhere in the world and that note than coming on the screen of the refrigerator.

Or sending pictures that come as Screensaver from the same app. Clean water all the time thru a pitcher or fountain sleekly put as a separate window on the left door. So thoughtful and beautiful is the design that you don’t Evan need to be around to know what is lacking or running out the cameras can show you thru the app.

It’s really great! Samsung has given Amazon dash app instacart app perdu farms app shop rite app and many other options to refill your naccessities and late night snacks while standing next to your refrigerator listening to spotify lol! Can’t belive all this in a fridge!.

I absolutely LOVE this fridge SO much!! This is a super sleek, gorgeous looking fridge that really makes my kitchen look elegant and modern. I took a chance and went with the white glass panels instead of the typical stainless steel, and am so happy with this decision – I was worried it was going to be too much white in my all-white kitchen, but the fridge isn’t a flat bright white.

It has some neutral gray tones that look beautiful. It doesn’t match the other white tones in my kitchen perfectly, but I have a few variations of white tones, so it actually brought the kitchen together better, making the different tones look more intentional.

The glass panels could also be great for keeping a shopping list with a dry erase marker – I’ve been wanting to try this, but haven’t yet, since I love the look as-is. The fridge is also super versatile – if I ever get bored of the all white, or if they get damaged, I can swap out the panels for another color or finish.

Only thing I would point out is that the front of the fridge, or maybe just the glass panel finish, doesn’t hold magnets. Also, like I mentioned, it’s not a true white, so I would recommend checking the colors out in person to make sure they work for you.

I also got the counter depth fridge. It still sticks out a bit, but that’s where the door hinge is, so it looks like that is needed to not bump against the wall. The fridge is a really great size, even for counter-depth.

I haven’t had a problem fitting everything I need, except one particularly large pizza box. I’m not used to a French door style fridge, so I had to get used to the freezer drawer at the bottom that feels heavier than I’m used to coming from a side-by-side fridge, but this also has plenty of room for everything.

It also has two different types of ice – regular size, and smaller bite size, which my family is obsessed with. But my absolute FAVORITE feature has to be the Beverage Center – the AutoFill water pitcher has been the best thing I’ve ever used, and makes it so convenient and fast to get water, or take a pitcher to the dog’s water bowl.

I can’t go back to a fridge without it. Last thing I wanted to mention is that this is a wifi enabled fridge that can connect to Samsung’s app. I didn’t think I would use this at all, but it’s actually really helpful to get notifications if you accidentally leave your fridge door slightly open and walked away.

Overall, super pleased with this fridge.

We are on our 3rd generation of Samsung refrigerators (all three are still in operation and working strong) and we continue to be impressed with the design and quality of their appliances. The new fridge we purchased (RF29BB8600APAA) is a full-sized French door model with replaceable panels and the in-door beverage center.

The beverage center is a new feature for us and it is a great way to keep a pre-chilled pitcher of flavored water or to fill up a glass from the dispenser. Getting access to the cup filler requires you to open the “outer door” on the left side.

This has the advantage of keeping the face of the fridge very clean and uninterrupted without an external cup filler. I love the look and style. If you have kids that like to regularly use the cup filler, they’ll be opening the fridge door more often which may increase energy consumption.

Overall though it is a net positive for us. The same front panel gives quick access to items on the door shelf. The ice maker on this new model has been moved into the large freezer compartment in the bottom.

This provides additional space in the refrigerator compartment and seems to be a better solution to making ice (in the freezer, instead of in the warmer refrigeration space). The fridge is spacious and has the same great modular shelf design we loved on our previous models.

This unit can be configured through a simple button interface within the main fridge space. It can also be integrated into Smartthings, which we have done, for even more convenient and intuitive configuration.

The modular panels on this fridge allow you to purchase new options to stylize the look. We stuck with the traditional stainless-steel panels which look great and were easy to install. The other big benefit of having replaceable panels is if you have small kids who are careless and dent the doors it is much easier to remove and repair the panels or even replace them.

This alone makes the feature an excellent choice for households with small kids with a propensity for damaging things. Which is pretty much anyone with small kids. Overall, we are very pleased with this fridge and its improvements.

Samsung has kept everything that was great and updated design components like the water dispenser and ice maker to achieve superb results. I highly recommend this fridge for your next purchase.

My wife and I just finished a major remodel on practically our entire house updating everything from the bathtub(s) to the kitchen sink, including all new appliances. Just under a year after completing the whole project the only regret I have is purchasing this refrigerator.

If you’ve never experienced buyers’ remorse and want to know what it feels like then I would definitely purchase this machine!!! The biggest issue with this contraption is the ice maker. If you look inside the gigantic ice machine that takes up so much room in the top left side of the refrigerator you notice the ice tray looks deep but it only fills up that chamber that looks the size of a softball bat.

Even when the machine is fully it barely gets us enough ice to last through a Saturday morning. Living in the desert and having active kids I had to buy a counter top ice maker just to offset the limited ice this machine holds.

It took whirlpool tech’s five visits to tell us there was nothing they could do to fix it because it was being caused by our low PSI RO system. Which is funny because the twelve-year-old refrigerator I had before this one was full all the time and we would have enough ice to fill up a cooler if we went somewhere.

As much room at that thing takes up you would think it could support the three people that even use ice in my family. Good luck if you like cold drinks!!! Second biggest issue with this poorly engineered appliance is the freezer space.

Not only is there limited space if you try to fill it up the door jam light stays on. If you trouble shoot and level it you can get it to go off but then when the freezer gets less full the door will close themselves.

So even when it’s perfectly level you have to make sure everything stay’s balanced or it will give you issues on and off. On top of our remodel we bought two new AC units and a new roof. With the markets being down we’re a little tight on funds but as soon as we get back ahead I will be replacing this hunk of junk.

I doubt I’ll get the $2600 dollars I blew on this thing back selling it online but hopefully I’ll get something to offset the loss. I’ll let the purchaser know this refrigerator belongs as a backup in the garage if you have the space for it!!!.

The refridgerator can;t be leveled properly, It sits ina prefectly flup and square opening, however using the two leveling adjustments in the font to make it fit correctly in the opening have it rocking back and forth because the rear fixed feet are not true.

3 tries by installers failed to rectify this. The apparent finish is NOT stainless steel, it’s a cheap plastic with a painted finish. I used a glass cleaner, and the finish is marred. The door alarm works for the right door, and the freezer, but not the left door, which is the easiest to get stuck ajar.

The unit arrived WITHOUT a filter installed, and nothing to indicate the same, so it wasn’t until the reminder came up and I went to replace it that I saw nothing in there. No wonder the water tasted lousy.

I bought a full suite, DW, Range, Microwave and this fridge. The microwave downlights (over range model) are all but useuless, tehy are so DIM, no excuse for LED bulbs not to be better. The range has the same craptastic fake steel trim, that was also damaged during cleaning, but much worse, so much so that I demanded Costco replace it.

I didn’t spend 2500 on a range to look like crap within a month of buying it. The enamel lip around the range already has chips. I don’t have kids, I treat my things with care, it’s unthinkable that the finishes are so shabby.

and this was after the oven failed to preheat within a week of receiving it.

We love this refrigerator, BUT, this is the second one (same model) to break in 5 years! First one started to not make ice and losing temperature right after the warranty expired. Paid for repairman but they couldn’t fix and $1300 later they declared it a lemon so we could buy another one at a discount.

We bought another one same model brand new AND this time paid for extended warranty (giving us 4 years). Our new refrigerator was delivered on 8-17-18 and believe it or not on 8-17-2022 we notice it was no longer making ice or dispensing water.

I called the warranty department and was informed that the warranty expired on 8-16-22!! How that date was determined, they could not answer. Once again we ordered it online on 7-18-18 and it was delivered 8-17-18….

Why did our expensive 4-yr warranty for our expensive refrigerator end on 8-16-22???? No we are faced with paying for repairman again!!! Really? What’s the odds that our warranty expired the day before, twice in a row? AND why didn’t the warranty start on the day we took delivery of our refrigerator??!! We love this refrigerator; too bad it keeps breaking… unfortunately since they won’t stand behind their product and wouldn’t help us or even explain we will not buy another one.

PS we did just buy a Whirlpool dishwasher (hope that works more than a year…). Whirlpool if you are reading this I would appreciate an explanation and an proper warranty expiration date – 4 years from the date of delivery – not 4 years from the day before!!.
