20 Best Far Cry New Dawn Image (2023 Updated)

The game play is awesome as is the graphics. ( there needs to be a filter for the bad lanuage) The ending could have had options / choice’s as to, which way events mighA qt have been directed. The internal missions are really good and exciting.

The mercenaries have been well thought out with regard to their strengths and weaknesses. The ability to tweak weapons is a nice feature especially to deal with the monster animals and enforcers. Look forward to play Far Cry 6.

I have always liked Far Cry games and have been playing them since 2 on the PS3. But out of all of them, I would say that New Dawn is something special. It takes almost everything that made 5 great and improves upon it.

The only aspects that are weaker in New Dawn compared to 5 is the story and size/scope (but that’s necessarily a bad thing). First off, the weapon creation system, while not mind blowing, is a nice throwback to 2 where your weapons would malfunction without the frustration.

In the beginning of New Dawn when you pick up a random weapon off of a dead guy it doesn’t work that well. It’s slower to reload and shoot because your character is fighting dirty mechanisms and rusted parts.

As you get better gear it works much better (although it’s usually not much prettier). This is a really nice system that adds to the experience. I also liked the addition of the damage numbers showing when you hit your target.

This might annoy some but I really like it. Character models, visuals, environments, and sounds are all improved compared to 5. I know it’s got to be running on the same engine so I have no idea how they made it look better, but they did.

Also the HDR color on this game is fantastic. The bright magenta flowers that are everywhere really pop on my 65 inch TV. HDR makes the sunsets and sunrises in this game quite beautiful too. Speaking of visuals, the setting of New Dawn is very interesting.

It’s obviously post-apocalyptic with strong Mad Max vibes with the driving, Highwaymen, gas wars, bullet farms and hodgepodge style weapons. It also has moments that it reminded me of The Last of Us and Dying Light (although there are no human zombies in this game) while exploring the overgrown buildings for resources and using the new running/jumping mechanics respectively.

These are all media that I love so I will say I enjoyed the mashed-up feel. YMMV, of course. Like I said in the beginning of my review, the only weak point compared to 5 is the story. 5’s story was frustrating at points but it really sucked me in and made me feel like I was living it.

New Dawn’s, however, relies a little too heavily on the supernatural. But, I will say I like the conclusion better than 5’s. And the shorter story made it so I got through the game without getting burned out, which I liked.

Not every game needs to be a triple-digit-hour slog. This is especially fine since the asking price of the game is considerably lower than most AAA games. It’s also a pretty easy and fun Platinum if you are a trophy hunter.

To summarize, if you like Far Cry games, you should give this one a go. I doubt you will be disappointed. And, as a surprise to no one, if you don’t like Far Cry games you won’t like this one. New Dawn is unmistakably a Far Cry game but somehow manages to feel nostalgic and fresh at the same time, and that’s an achievement worth celebrating.

For anyone that played the previous Far Cry games, which I assum is nearly everyone buying this, you can expect a lot of the same here. The difference is this game, while shorter, tugs a little more at your heartstrings compared to the others.

The gameplay is quite similar, but the AI is much more responsive and general feel of a community is amazing because you can overhear conversations and everyone tends to act like a normal real-life person rather than a video game character.

The interactions are life-like which is amazing. The intuitive gestures and actions you can perform with others makes you really feel like you’re there. The environment is amazing and something you’ll have to see for yourself.

The storyline is what you would expect, simple and not too detailed, but still fun filled and adventurous. The animals are awesome in this game and as you usual you can have fun messing around with them, just be careful because they’ve made a few of these creatures actual beasts (monstrous) in this game that are much harder to bring down.

You could spend hours playing at a time or over time, but either way, expect a great time to be had by all with this one. It may be shorter than the rest, but it also costs less to purchase and the fun is just as awesome as ever.

maybe especially Far Cry fans. This is really a disappointing addition to the franchise. Basically the same formula as 3, 4, 5, but with a new coat of paint. literally. All they did with the FC5 map is coat the world in graffiti, which is hilarious given that I would think carrying spray paint would be a last priority in a supposed post-apocalyptic world.

For fans of FC5 and the story, I almost guarantee you will be scratching your head with some of the choices here. The new “villains” offer no compelling threat whatsoever, and the returning villain similarly caries no weight anymore.

Throw in a bunch of really questionable design decisions like floating weapon damage numbers (even though there’s no leveling system), a very shallow base management system, repetitive repeatable missions, and a surprisingly lackluster weapon upgrade mechanic, FC:ND deserves a pass.

It still has the Far Cry DNA and there is some fun to be had with the usual outpost infiltrations, but this was not the right direction overall.

I’m a Far Cry fan! I got into Far Cry 5 first and worked backward from there which has brought me to Far Cry 3. My experience from previous Far Cry tiles prepared me for playing Far Cry 3. I find the game very compelling and I’m glad to add it to my Far Cry collection! Be warned! I’m on Xbox One and when you initially load the game it will start with the ritualistic “Update”.

In that update Ubisoft (the game manufacturer) has included a promotion bit in the software that will change visages on the the Ubisoft game titles in your library, to a pig in a blue suit. For instance if you had previously installed Far Cry 4, the visage of Pagan Min becomes a pig in a blue suit.

What I have found is that “the pig in the blue suit” is the character on the cover of the Ubisoft’s new game “Watch Dogs Legion”! Go figure!.

OMG, if you’re a gamer and you haven’t played Far Cry 3 I highly suggest you get off your tush and get to playing, Skippy. The game is set on a gorgeous paradise island archipelago of open world free for all where angry locals are after you, sharks are feverishly hungry and Skrillex is your BFF as you tick off some baddies by burning their happy bushes.

Make it Bun Dem 🔥 Best mission ever! The faded sequences, forbidden love affair, and not knowing good vs evil as it all blends together in one giant festival of madness. Bring it on, Vaas 😈, it takes two to tango and I’m asking for the next dance.

LOVE this game! It is one of the most realistic games i have played. and even though its an 18 and there is blood and violence and everything, the game is beautiful. That is a fact. the landscapes and the oceans are made SO realistically you fell like your playing in real life.

Absolutely gorgeous graphics, love the game… also a very good storyline.

As far as I’m concerned, the Farcry games are the most enjoyable games ever produced. New Dawn is no exception

Got exactly what I paid for. Love the Far Cry series. Came a day earlier then expected.

Pagan Min is a nasty piece of work. He is the vain and arrogant despot that welcomes you to the fictional Himalayan nation of Kyrat with a depraved display of violence. Min is a horrific man, and you are meant to despise him–or at least, it would seem so until he ends his tirade by inviting you to “tear stuff up” while The Clash takes over the soundtrack, preparing you for a power fantasy just seconds after the game has purposefully turned your stomach.

Afterwards, Min covers your head with a sack and escorts you to his opulent residence. There, in sight of a bowl of monkey heads ready to be cracked open and engorged upon, He again demonstrates his ruthlessness by plunging a fork into the back of your local guide and forcing him to wail out the window for help.

Far Cry 4 is loaded with such tonal shifts, so many that you might suspect the game is trying to make a point with them. The writing takes rare turns into the self-aware; one character, for instance, calls out the hypocrisy of an American intruding on the affairs of a foreign state, pointing guns and splattering blood in the name of “doing the right thing.

” But if Far Cry 4 was meant to parody the violent themes it depicts, it does a poor job of it. You are Ajay Ghale, an American who has come to Kyrat to scatter your departed mother’s ashes per her wishes, though it isn’t long before you have taken up the cause of The Golden Path, the same separatist group your mother helped found.

Where matters of the rebellion are concerned, Far Cry 4 keeps things serious, often forcing you to choose between the wishes of the current Golden Path co-leaders, and locking yourself into one mission while foregoing its counterpart.

These leaders–Amita and Sabal–both have good intentions, seeking only the best for their impoverished nation, though Sabal’s insistence at one point that Amita is using her gender as a manipulation tactic makes it clear that he, and the game itself, don’t always represent meaningful progress.

I quit writing game reviews because the youth of our society is suffering hard from Fanboyism. Negative reviews are shunned and ridiculed, even if they’re spot-on accurate. “You don’t like what I like so I’m marking your review as unhelpful even though I own the product already and completely misunderstand the purpose of this system.

“Anyways, as this was is a product I was pretty stoked for, I felt compelled to dust off my opinions and do the whole “game review” thing again. This is essentially Far Cry 3-and-a-half. We meet a psycopathic antagonist right off the bat, and get tossed into a chaotic story in the midst of a tropical environment.

Within hours we’re climbing radio towers and liberating outposts, hunting wild animals to craft basic improvements, just as we did in the last game. It’s all very, very familiar. Now, I can’t in-good-conscience climb onto my soap box and say this is bad, as Far Cry 3 was – in my humble opinion – one of the greatest video games to grace the now-dying previous generation of consoles.

What I can say however is that this is a new console generation, and a new game, from a reputable developer, and I have to think that we should be getting more bang for our buck these days. Far Cry 4 is just more of what we loved in Far Cry 3.

There are more outposts to raid in whatever manner you see fit. There are more animals to hunt, there are a few new enemy types, a few new guns, and a few new vehicles. The grapling hook addition is nice, but it’s still only allowed in pre-determined locations, making path-finding still feel very scripted and guided.

The new “Karma” game-mechanic has some merit – where you’re given the chance to intervene in small, skurmish-based confrontations for a chance to earn some extra scratch, as well as tokens which can be used to call in backup when you find yourself in too much hot water.

However, these events seem to crop up a bit too frequently; sneaking in to an outpost and suddenly there’s gunfire going off behind me as a skirmish spawns just a few yards behind me. Even worse, the guards at the outpost are completely obvlivious to it – imagine the “wow” factor if a few wandered off to join the fight, completely changing the plan-of-attack on the outpost.

The map is allegedly huge, but FEELS very small. For example, when hunting, you travel to an area of the map that shows an image of the animal you need skins from. You expect that you’ll be sloughing through the woods for a few minutes at least, only to realize that the hunting “area” is only a few yards off of a road, and when you DO get there, you find that a karma event has spawned there, or at the least a group of rebels are standing around, shooting at everything that moves, and as a result, the game engine refuses to spawn the one thing you’re actually there for.

And speaking of animals, they’ve become something of a pain. I can’t take two steps in any direction without being blindsided by the quitest Rhinos I’ve ever seen, and every attempt to hunt will be interrupted by Eagles, swooping down to nick off a few healthpoints without any type of game mechanic to allow you to kill them.

Now, at this point it’s customary to see reviewers telling you what you should do – “Don’t buy this” or “rent it instead” – but I’m going to skip that step. Far Cry 3 was epic. Far Cry 4 is basically more of the same.

It’s ordering a box of the same chicken nuggets you always get and adventurously ordering two different sauces.

If you’re familiar with the Far Cry series, this game has a great combination of features that made the previous games a lot of fun, with a few new surprises. Some critics have pointed out that much of the game play was too similar to Far Cry 3.

I can see that, but it’s not a negative for me. I loved Far Cry 3, so experiencing some of the best aspects of that game in a new setting is big plus for me. The controls and options are fairly complex and detailed, so to be able to carry some of the functionality over from a familiar game saves time in learning, and you can just get right into it.

I like how they’ve simplified the ability syringe system. I found that clunky in the previous game, and so it discouraged me from using it. In this game, I find myself using the syringes a lot more, which gives me more tactical options.

Some of the new features, such as the helicopter, grappling hook, being able to shoot while driving and riding elephants add a new dimension to this game that really draws you in. The setting is fantastic and detailed.

Probably my favorite aspect is that this is a seriously long and detailed game, but you can chip away at it with a pace of your choosing. What I mean is that if you’ve got a few hours, you can really immerse yourself, but if you’ve only got 30 minutes or so, it’s pretty easy to find a short mission or just explore for a while.

There’s much to do and see. If you’re a fan of the series, you have to play this game. But even if you’ve not played the others, you won’t feel like you need to do any catching up, as the story and characters are mostly unique.

A good combination of action, exploration and decision-making makes this an adventure game for a wide range of players. Finally, I have not done any of the co-op or online versions, so can’t comment there.

Looking forward to that once I finish the solo campaign!.

I love playing all of the Far Cry games, they are all so much fun and so exciting! But the Primal game in the series is one of my favorites by far. Even though they are speaking a “ancient”(made up) language it provides subtitles and the graphics are beyond amazing.

The scenery is beautiful, along with the animals. The gore is crazy realistic as well. You have to hunt for your own food to restore your health/energy. Search for different furs, plants, berries and other things to craft to get better and further in the game.

This game makes you feel as if you are right in the game, once you get into it you could be stuck playing for hours and not even realize how much time has went by. If you are looking for a new, fun , exciting, storyline game to get into this is something you should really check out you will not be let down.

I had never heard of this game, it seems it’s a side project to the main Far Cry games. My brother hounded me to get it and I’m so glad I did! It’s fun because it’s different to the usual shoot ‘em up games with war tactics and guns.

You get an awesome bow, spears, and best of all you get to tame predators that become your sidekick (you need it when everything is trying to kill you!) My favourite was the sabre, you can mark enemies and he will run after them and take them down.

You also have a Hawke which flows over and tags enemies for you. Sadly the ending was pretty lame, but all in all I was bummed it ended. It is fun to immerse yourself in a cave man world and do something completely different!!.

When this game was released I was unsure about it, thought it would be rubbish, being a Far Cry fan I eventually bought it. And Im really glad I did. Its much the same as all the other Far Cry games but with no guns or vehicles.

If you are into Far Cry and havent played Primal then I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this one. It isnt as bad as most reviews have said. Go on, get yourself a copy now.

I have been playing this for a month now, taking my time, and am not quite through the main story line. I have enjoyed the last few FarCry releases and this is no exception. You star as a guerilla fighter in a corrupt Carribean nation working to rally countrymen to the cause and topple the military and corrupt dictator, played by Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad.

The stealth kill opportunities are numerous, fun weapons, funny dialogue, huge map, amazing graphics on the PS5. My one complaint, Ubisoft should have spent a few more weeks debugging this title before release.

I did not experience the technical glitches that are present here on any of the prior releases. Weird stuff, like when you parachute into a military area to start a mission, it wont let you boot up any of your weapons from the weapon wheel.

No bueno! Frantic jittery image playback at a few points. One time I was flying a plane on a mission, the screen went dark and then jumped to end game animation with the character in a chaise lounge on the beach.

Just weird. But I can forgive that, because the game is that good. When the game starts, choose the female Dani character. She is excellent.

Just like its predecessors before it, Far Cry has not disappointed so far. The games graphics are awesome, gameplay is fun and addicting, and controller enhancements add to the realism for the PS5. It has a much more believable storyline than Far Cry 5.

The Antagonist is a corrupt government leader (believable). Rogue government takeover of a small country has me addicted. The only downside is the game gets a little repetitive (like the old Far Cry games) when playing for more than a few hours at a time.

I find taking a few days breaks in between sessions helps keep the game entertaining and interesting. The only complaint I have with these games is the unrealistic headshots. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 magazines to take down a NPC.

Frustrating to say the least, but I suppose having bullets that light people on fire aren’t exactly realistic, either. It does take some getting used too. You need to carry weapons for the right job, and use the correct ammo against the correct bad guys.

That being said, the Bow doesn’t disappoint and remains my favorite FC weapon of choice. Love the game and will continue to support the Far Cry brand.

Already traded it in. At first the newness of the yearly far cry game, games i love may i add made me love the game. After about 20 hrs in the excitment wore out. Not much has changed and actually has got worse.

Enemies dont feel nearly as difficult you can literally run up on many even if they see you and stab them and quickly run to next then the next. Every once in a while theyll overwhelm you but not much.

Yes world is cool as usual the driving feels better. Graphics dont seem as polished as years past and the story didnt keep me interested. They throw so many diffrent dumb characters at you, you really dont care about any of them.

The companion animal seems cool until he just gets you into trouble more then he is worth and the dog cant even ride in the car with you. He just appears after you just took a 3 mile boat ride across the map and boom their is your companion.

Just stupid. New weapons make no sense disco gun really isnt fun to use. Jetpack is cool but newness doesnt last pretty limited on using it too. The final nail in the goffin and i boxes it up and traded it in was once i found a tank and put on special gloves that repaired the vehicle constantly as it took on damage i was literally invincible even before i was 25 30 % into the game.

Keep in my mind i screw around alot in far cry which is half the fun so 20hrs in i wasnt to far in yet. One last thing you dont feel scared of the enviroment your in like in almost all the far crys before it.

Animals attack sometimes but easily handled and not very many. Even sharks in water your not afraid of. You get little bite u turbln whack em they run then come get you again after a bit. not good not worth the money.

Maybe 19. 99 game very dissappointed.

Good points: + Beautiful rendition of the diverse habitats and wildlife (particularly flora!) of Montana + A strong and arguably timely storyline, with some great themes (incl. a much better narrative “gotcha” than Bioshock) + Classic FC chaos from the intersection of weaponry, enemies, wildlife and friendly NPCs + A truly fantastic soundtrack, including the bluegrass fundamentalist songs you never knew you liked Bad points: – Rather reminiscent of previous FC titles (although definitely the most refined) – While the main storyline missions are great, side missions can get a bit repetitive and grindy – Classic FC chaos from the intersection of weaponry, enemies, wildlife and friendly NPCs – Misses anything like FC3’s narrative arc for its player character For me, the storyline is what makes this title.

It has a number of strong contemporary resonances, and builds up nicely to a very fitting end. The detail is exceptional, with a surprisingly well thought-out cult mythology, and enemies with viewpoints that you can’t entirely disagree with.

I particularly liked a segment on conditioning that’s used to good effect in the story. The various characters – and their backstories – that you meet on the journey are pretty great too. For me, they straddled the comedy / tragedy pretty well, although your mileage may vary.

More generally, the Americana setting with its militia, gun nuts, preppers, brainwashing cults, family values, and apple pie really appealed to me. While it’s still a frequently absurd game (especially when the patented FC chaos arrives), it gets most things just right.

It’d be remiss not to mention its soundtrack. It’s absolutely fantastic – mixing solid original songs from Dan Romer, excellent “reimagined” ambient versions by Hammock, and with fabulous versions sung by a choir.

They pulled the stops out, and it really adds to the overall atmosphere of the game. Who knew that propaganda songs from an apocalyptic Christian cult could be so good?.

This game is DOPE! I was never a fan of 1st person shooters. For my birthday, my wife asked what I wanted and I figured I’d try something different. I was pleasantly surprised with the story line and game play.

It wasn’t too difficult to learn the controls. The story brings you in and keeps you hooked. There’s so much to do as far as gameplay is concerned. You can go straight through the story or complete side missions along the way.

For the price, I couldn’t have asked for a better game. I’m a huge fan of this game and am anxiously awaiting Far Cry 6 when it drops in October.

(Minor spoilers are ahead) Far Cry 5 isnt Far Cry 3. Nor is it Far Cry 4. Its better. Stranded in the middle of Hope County, Montana, the player, a Sheriffs Deputy in the region, must find a way to get in contact with the outside world and find a way out.

But this isnt your average county in Montana. Project at Edens Gate and its followers (known as Peggies by the locals) have gained complete control of the entire county and are terrorizing its citizens.

The religious cult is lead by the Seed family (brothers Joseph, John, and Jacob, and their adopted sister, Faith). You must work with the locals to take out each family member one by one until you reach The Father, the leader of the cult, Joseph Seed.

Ubisoft does an excellent job of creating an idea of what happens when a religious cult, or any cult for that matter, goes unchecked for an extended period of time. To the religious, concerned about the game: I consider myself to be a religious person and still had an amazing time.

The game references HEAVILY to the Book of Revelations, which should be expected considering the Project at Edens Gate is a doomsday cult. Contrary to what some sources would have you believe, youre not fighting religion.

Youre not running around burning down churches and smashing crosses. In fact, one of your allies is a priest at a local parish. However there are some religious symbolism one may find disturbing and put them on edge.

But thats part of the experience in my opinion. The following is about the ending of the game. I will do my best not to spoil any aspect, but be mindful as you read the next part of the review. Many people, and by that I mean nearly everyone, who have completed the game have complained about the ending.

This reviewer doesnt hate the ending, they love it. There are several ways the game may end, but only one REAL ending. Every single ending is intense and suspenseful leading you to wonder What will happen next? What I dislike about the game The location of Montana is a perfect selection by Ubisoft.

Its absolutely gorgeous. However with beauty in video games comes performance issues, and this game has many. Screen tearing and frame drops are common and extremely obnoxious. However, when youre in the middle of combat, you kinda forget about them.

The combat in the game is left to be desired. It feels. too easy. It feels like every gun you pick up will do nearly the same amount of damage which may be fine to some players, but for me, I dont want my pistol doing the same damage as my.

50 Cal sniper rifle. The endgame of Far Cry 5 seems almost non existent. Sure you can get a few hours extra with the DLC, but not everyone has $30 they can spend on the season pass (which is another thing.

$30? Come on, Ubisoft!). If you enjoy achievement hunting or are a completionist, similar to me, youll enjoy the endgame. However, some may find it left to be desired. In conclusion, Far Cry 5 wont be a game you can sit down and bang out in one day.

Its an emotional roller coaster of a game that takes you all around Hope County. Its an adventure that will take maybe a good week or so to complete. Take your time, enjoy Montana, and fight the good fight against the Peggies! (Also the soundtrack of the game is absolutely AMAZING.

Look up the We Will Rise Again soundtrack and you will be entranced!).

So far having put about 6+ hrs into the campaign missions and free roam gameplay, I am impressed. The Montana backdrop and atmosphere are great. Nothing drastically different gameplay wise from Far Cry 4, but still tons of fun to play.

Now for a few like and dislikes. Let’s do dislikes first. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed with the enemy character variations. Last count, I noticed maybe 5-6 different cult follower enemy models.

Not a huge deal, but it sometimes gets a little confusing when you take down one of these enemies and then another (clone) pops up looking identical to the one you just took down. Just thought at this stage in this franchise, there could have been more variety.

Although I am still early on in the campaign, so that could change. I am also not a huge fan of how good the enemy AI is at figuring out your position. Many times during a gun fight, even in excellent cover and not shooting back to give away my position, the enemy AI somehow seems to know exactly where I am hiding.

It does amp up the difficulty, but makes it seem a little unrealistic. Ok enough dislikes. Now for my likes. Gun play seems very responsive and the weapon variety is nice. Vehicles handle realistically.

Helicopters and planes are a blast to fly and the sound effects are spot on. Graphically, the terrain and texture details are awesome! I am playing on a Plasma at 1080p and it looks amazing, so I can only imagine how great a 4K display would look.

The game plays in typical Far Cry fashion. Accept a mission and complete it and you start unlocking more of your map and earn skill points to level up your character. If you are looking for some ground breaking improvements over the past 2 Far Cry games, other than improved graphics, the game plays pretty much the same.

This is not a bad thing at all, but for some fans of the series, they may have been hoping for more. There is a lot to like here and if you are on the fence of buying or not buying, just know this. If you liked Far Cry 4, you will like Far Cry 5.

It’s nothing mind blowing, but that’s ok. You will still have a ton of fun with something new to find around every corner. Buy it!!.

Probably the most fun I’ve had with a game this year. Granted, I’m bias towards the Far Cry series and there is a lot here that is just like any other Far Cry title. With that being said, it does have a new ish feel to it, the story is compelling, has one of it not the best villain’s to date for the series.

There are new and welcomed game mechanics, a huge beautiful open world. The characters are so so imo, but there isn’t much I can say I don’t like about it. Has great side quests and activities. Overall, you will easily sink 100+ hours into this.

At the time of writing, I have accumulated 23 hours. none of which have been boring whatsoever. If your looking for a fun game, this is it. If your buying for PC, I will say this. the cutscenes are awkwardly cut in ultrawide, even with my 3080 I’ve had some crashes/freezes as well.

To be quite honest, I think this game is a no no on PC if your playing with an ultrawide monitor like me. I’m sure it is fine on a normal monitor, screen tearing is an issue as well.
