I installed this on a 67 Camaro. It fit perfectly in the center of the factory shroud. To my delight, the fan needed 2-3 minutes of filing to go on the clutch. This assured a snug fit that preferred.

Ordered mine on a Tuesday, it arrived Thursday in the brown truck. The back of the box has all the fan types and part numbers listed, too, so hang that on the wall for future reference! One installation hint: wind a piece of rope thru the blades so you can hold the clutch/fan assembly up with one hand while you thread the bolts into the water pump with the other—might save your radiator.

Just sayin’.

Bolted up to my Hayden 2747 mechanical clutch. It was a little tight on the hole/boss centering on the fan, scuffed the paint a little when I bolted it down tight, but it fit ok and is definitely centered on the clutch.

Bolt holes lined up no problem (4ea 5/16″ bolts) Will be a good fit for converting my ’68 f100 i6 300 from the oem direct drive fan to a clutched setup to save mpg and noise. The diameter of the fan is 18″ and measures pretty exact.

I’m leaving 1″ all the way around to my custom fan shroud. This is an OEM style rigid fan for good air flow and good cooling when the clutch kicks in, not like the floppy flexi fans which lack towing and summer cooling ability.

I was running a Cold Case radiator with shroud and electric fan and was running into all kinds of cooling issues on my 1968 Firebird with a 455 bored and stroked to 474ci. I tried everything to get the temps down without luck.

Once I replaced the Cold Case shroud/fan with a stock shroud, this fan and a Hayden 2797 clutch all my cooling problems went away. I was hitting 220-230° cruising and couldn’t use my AC. I also couldn’t drive the car any distance because of overheating.

Going back to a “stock” setup fixed all my issues. Temps don’t go over 180° with the AC blasting in traffic now (160° thermostat). I would highly recommend if you are running into cooling problems with an electric fan.

Very solid choice. Replaced the stock fan on my ‘91 Dakota, and it’s helped keep temps down for sure. It moves some serious CFMs: the fan was blowing my hair back at idle. Would recommend.

I had to return the fan, because it did not fit my Ford fan clutch. Due to its universal design, to accommodate 2 bolt patterns, it would not fit over my fan clutch. I have the 3 1/4″ pattern.

Product works out of the box. Matches OEM requirements at a lower price. Issues with the dismantle and removal of the old fan was difficult. My 2003 5. 9 Cummins Diesel is crammed into the 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4×4.

This made it a two man (woman) project to get the old one off. Tools rented from AutoZone were not helpful at all. Ended up buying a 1-7/16″ open end wrench to “slug” the old unit off. Check YouTube for assistance.

This fan is a nice upgrade from my original 5 blade fan. It is all steel with a dual mounting pattern. It matched the clutch recommended for it (DER-22145) with the exception of the holes in the fan needing to be drilled out larger.

This wasn’t really a problem, just an annoyance.

I would have to say I’m very satisfied with the fan clutch. The first one that was sent to be the fan ate the clutch wire immediately and car parts sent out me an brand new OEM one without a hassle or anything.

Interesting thing about this item, I compared it to a local auto parts store fan clutch for the same vehicle application that I very strongly believe was made by Hayden for said local auto parts brand.

The local parts store item is made in USA, which is cast into the aluminum housing of the clutch. This Hayden branded item is made in Mexico and the spot where the country would’ve been cast into the actual clutch there are just small cast aluminum dots where the letters would have appeared.

That information may or may not be important to you. In either case I have had good experience with Hayden before and I assume this would function fine.

Fan clutch is very loud. Once car comes to temperature, the fan cluch engages and does not turn off. I drove on the highway at speed of 70 miles per hour and it was so loud that i had slow down to 50 miles per hour.

I will be replacing fan cluch and get my money back Definitely louder than original part.

Did not realize how bad my old fan clutch was until I changed it. Hayden has always Had a good rep from me with their engine and trans coolers. This is no different. Had to make a tool to hold the water pump pulley, other than that it was a simply install.

This is my second one on this ram 3500, pushing around 500hp on the cummins. I bought this truck a year ago and clutch went out. Didn’t know I had a dual until we tried to do a single disc to it. I always heard how noisy they are.

Well with SBB rubber isolators on the floating flywheel keeps them quiet, was shocked when I got it and saw it was everything even flywheel. I’m so used to having them turned! New clutch in going through break in.

Already hauling equipment again, 100,135 miles off that clutch, not bad at all for hauling 10k to15k in farm equipment. Well worth the money, found out that the clutch was about 20% left but it froze up the throw out bearing.

So glad dpp sales staff recommend this clutch for my 01 dodge Cummins 3500. Huge difference over stock! This truck will get another one if and when this one needs replacing. I will for sure be making that purchase from Dpp.

I put this clutch on my 2004. 5 ram 2500. Fit was perfect I also installed the upgraded hydraulics from south bend at the same time. Clutch pedal is just as easy to push as oem. You can slip the clutch a little bit coming from a dead stop, but it definitely has some grab to it.

Overall smoothness shifting from gear to gear is sacrificed a little bit but it’s worth it. Once the clutch breaks in it is slightly louder than stock but not unbearable. Kit came with everything I needed and customer service is on point.

First off the website is great. The product decription makes finding the right parts a brezze. I reviced my clutch 5 days before stated, it arived very nicely packaged. The only problem I had was the input shaft seal spring was bent.

Luckely I was able to repourpose the spring from the old seal. Over all I had a wonderful experience with this company. I would use them again and highly recommend.

Definitely well made. All mounting bolts are included. Starter spacer is included(doesn’t give any directions on it, but if you can’t figure it out, you probably shouldn’t be doing the job yourself).

Pedal pressure feels same as stock(didn’t change any hydraulics). Shifting between gears has slowed down, I expect it is mostly do to the flywheel effect of 3 times as much weight spinning on the input shaft of the transmission as the OEM clutch.

Also with over 300k on the NV4500, mabey new syncros would help. Ease of installation: Installs about the same as any other clutch Price/value: It’s expensive. Time will tell if it was a good value, but I am betting it will be.

Works great really worth the extra buck when purchasing the heavy duty fan clutch

Fit and worked fine. However, original had studs in it. Opened box, and there were no studs in clutch, but four washers. The studs in the original were fine thread and I had to go back to advance to buy four coarse thread grade 8 bolts at $2.

50 to install the clutch. These should have been in box. It was easier to install since it had open ends to install one bolt in the pulley/water pump. MADE IN U. S. A. ! Finally no Chinese junk from Advance, much of which I refuse to use.

I paired this clutch with a 6 blade clutch style fan and it works perfectly in my 1972 GMC C15. I have a pretty snotty small block 350, and a 2 row aluminum radiator with rhe stock fan shroud. This combo works flawlessly.

You’ll have to purchase your own mounting hardware separately. But I consider that a part of installing aftermarket parts.

Previous owner of my 85 CJ7 had installed standard radiator so the old fan clutch fit too close to radiator. I installed this fan clutch and now there is plenty of room between radiator and fan clutch.

I received my order by UPS DELIVERY. I looked at videos online on tools that I would need to remove the fan shroud and how to unplug the old clutch. I rented the spanner wrench and hub locking wrench from my local auto parts.

I removed the shroud twisted off the fan and unbolted the old clutch. In a few minutes I had bolted the new clutch to the fan and back on the engine. I tightened up all bolts and made sure the wiring was clear of the fan blade.

Plugged in the new clutch and drove to the auto parts to return my rented tools. The whole replacement was close to a little over an hour.

Very happy with this purchase. Excellent quality and function. This was an important part of getting my ac back up and working. Needless to say the wife and kids will definitely be happy this summer!

This is an exact match and fits perfect. Have it on my 2006 5.9 Cummins and it works perfectly so far. Arrived fast and for the price it’s a no brainer! Highly recommend!

Put on a flex-a-lite fan (FLX-6719) in my SBC powered 2 ton chevy dump truck, but never seems to disengage, its fine for now but will have to get a less aggressive clutch for the winter time. (Update, After putting some miles on it, it did heat up and disengage, now will not re engage.

) will have to replace, water temp hovering around 205-210 truck formerly had a fixed flex-a-lite and would get to 200-205 during low speed high load driving has a 160 thermostat in it, truck is heavy tall geared and used in humid hot east texas.

Note the fan does say it has a 4000 RPM limit if you go this route. not an issue for me 2BRL carb power drops out around 3000 rpm.

This fan clutch couples tighter to the actual engine rotation resulting in more air being pulled thru the radiator at stoplights, hence better cooling. If your temp’s spike at stops but are cool on long straightaways, this is your ticket.

Works well on 1969 Pontiac firebirds with 4 core brass radiator or aluminum radiators.

Does not fit on my 454 ss 1990 pickup, i had to drill the holes to fit the bolts. The diameter of my fan is to small. After making it fit, it doesnt work fine, the fan turns the time and i cant recognise any influence of engine temperature.
