20 Best Eye Concealer For Mature Skin (2023 Updated)

I picked this up because I have been in between concealers and my current has been out of stock. This one came recommended as a really good option at the drugstore price point. I don’t think I’ve ever panicked when trying to blend concealer, until today.

I used a small amount on the inner corners of my eyes to start, the color was pretty atrocious, just gross. It highlighted my dark circles and they ended up greenish and still dark. It also was patchy and cakey.

It would not diffuse at all. It was so awful I immediately washed it off. I thought maybe I’d just try it again with a fresher face, so I cleaned off all my makeup added a little extra eye cream to maybe help the product move more.

however it was exactly as horrible as before. I have pretty sensitive combination skin. I would say under my eyes are maybe on the oily side, this product dried them out. I can’t give something one star because I know ultimately it’s just not for me, and it may not be a bad product for others.

I will be returning though.

i honestly wanted to love this concealer and i still do for some reasons. this is my second kosas concealer bc the first one i got was too light for me (works well for around the face but not under eyes).

anyways my main issue with this is it’s super yellow/olive no matter what shade you get. 6. 8W which is my most recent purchase was described as peach undertoned however it’s superrr yellow underneath the eyes.

now this isn’t an issue for the rest of my face since my natural undertones are olive so it works well for spot concealing. however if you have rlly dark circles that r brown / green veins slightly visible then babes do yourself a favour and skip on this bc it will only emphasize the dark circles.

i’m sure a very high coverage peach colour corrector might work but since it leans olive – it’s just gonna counteract that corrector, so no point. its unfortunate bc its such a beautiful formula and makes the skin look so radiant.

it’s also clean which is why i love it. if you don’t have dark circles or need a yellow / olive undertone concealer then def try this out otherwise if u have the same issues as mentioned above then skip hopefully they come out w shades that don’t lean yellow/olive in the future.

This is the best concealer I’ve found so far. I’m always searching for the best concealer and I’ve tried hundreds…from Tarte, Hourglass, Huda, Rare, Fenty, Cover FX, Chantecaille, Urban Decay, Jouer, Too Faced, NYX, Elf, CoverGirl, IT and more.

This is the best blend of coverage and formulation I’ve found. It’s a strong medium coverage with a very natural, hydrating finish. On my normal, dry-leaning skin it is a natural, skin-like finish but it may be more dewy on oily skin.

It has a nice creamy texture and blends beautifully. It also definitely has a brightening effect on the under eyes. If you have light/light medium olive toned skin shade 3. 2 is AMAZING! I use 3. 2 all over and as a spot concealer and shade 1.

5c for my under eyes to brighten some. So far this is the best I’ve found for my somewhat dry under eyes. If they made this same exact formula as a high high coverage I would love that too. But this does have a solid strong medium coverage.

All and all my favorite concealer.

I am 45 years old with Light/Medium to Medium/Tan (depending on the season) combination skin, fine lines and hard to cover dark circles. I have been using Tarte Shape Tape Concealer for a few years and love the coverage and staying power, but found it to be a little dry.

I use Tarte Double Duty Base Tape Hydrating Primer under my eyes before Concealer and it helps. I tried the NEW Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer in 34S Medium Sand (my winter color) and I love the way it seamlessly blends into my skin.

However I found it to be a bit too sheer to cover my dark circles. I didn’t lose hope and tried several combinations and found a perfect combo! I apply a thin layer or 2 of the Ultra Creamy Concealer under my eyes, depending on the kind of coverage I want for the day.

It blends beautifully under my eyes and it plays nicely when blended out with my Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue foundation using a damp makeup sponge. I then apply a layer or 2 of the Original Shape Tape Concealer over the inside corners of my under eye area which are the darkest.

I let it all set for a few minutes and add a very light layer of Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting powder in Honey and finish with Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. The Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer has the same staying power and look as the Original Shape Tape Concealer for me when used that way, but looks more natural and blends out nicely into my face and foundation without looking cakey or dry.

Huge skin care addict here who is insanely picky on what products I put on my face. Firstly, there is a nice shade range of colors which is great. Secondly, this concealer is 100% full coverage. I find that blending in with the fingers really melts it into the skin and helps with less creasing (I have light wrinkles).

I also will use a beauty sponge if I want to shear it out for medium coverage. Thirdly, this product isn’t necessarily “hydrating” to me, I find that it does set down fairly quickly so I’d definitely apply and blend one eye at a time for smooth application.

Being as though I have to do that solely alone tells me that it’s not entirely “hydrating” for MY dry SKIN (may be hydrating to someone else). I do feel as though this product reminds me of the kosas hydrating concealer in terms of concept and coverage but this just dries down faster and isn’t nearly as moisturizing.

Finally, the price point and overall performance is why I’m giving it 5 stars. It’s only $6-7 and from the full coverage, the soft satin finish, shade range, and control of the applicator makes it worth it.

This is such a great concealer, not even just “for being drugstore” it’s overall just really great regardless. I’ve always had a darker under eye area, and I also have dry under eyes. Finding a concealer thick enough to cover the darkness without looking cakey and creasing, was almost impossible for the longest time.

I tried Tarte Shape Tape, since that’s what I kept seeing/hearing about and I actually hated it. It was not what I expected at all. Super thick, but also very drying to my under eyes and even though it was thick and “full coverage” my dark circles were still very visible.

I was really afraid to try the Elf one because it was another very thick concealer, and it’s being called the dupe for Shape Tape. The reason I ended up trying it was because it actually has “hydrating” in the title of it, and Shape Tape was anything but hydrating.

So, I picked up the elf concealer because its very inexpensive and I was still in search for the perfect concealer. The rest is history! I was blown away. It is very thick, so I did have to be very careful and aware of how much I was using, but the applicator actually makes it pretty easy for you to remain in control of how much product is being used.

The shade I got matched perfectly, it was thick, and yes, very hydrating and did not crease! It blended in so seamlessly with my blending sponge and it did a great job of covering my dark under eyes without creasing.

This concealer is also really good for cleaning up under your eyebrows after you do them, it’s great for trying to spot conceal any blemishes you may have, etc. so I would personally say that this is WAY better than Tarte Shape Tape, also less than half the cost.

I kept trying to get this concealer to work but it looks unnatural and cakey on my undereyes. It amplifies the undereye texture and it breaks up when placed on top of my spf. I love their (discontinued) hd concealer, (discontinued?) flawless concealer, and brightening concealer (it has low coverage, though).

I suspect that the hydrating camo concealer would be a better bet if you’re looking for an undereye concealer. Although, I’m worried it will break up the same way that this one does with my spf. If I let alot of moisturizer sink in before applying, only apply on blemishes (not undereyes), and don’t wear spf underneath, then I can get it to look ok.

I could see it working for some people but it’s one of my least favorite elf concealer formulas.

I really had high hopes for this corrector. I love the packaging. Most correctors come in pots that you have to dip your fingers in which I do not think is sanitary. The brush is tiny enough where you are able to control the amount of product and not overdo it.

Although this corrector is creamy and not cakey on its own… it does not play well with others. I can not use my tart shape tape concealer over top without it looking like too much product build up even if I use the tiniest amount.

Another thing is that this corrector gives an orange cast. It almost forces you to use more concealer to cover up the orange cast, but then it just looks horrible because you’re using too much product.

I’ve tried this for a couple of weeks with different methods but still no success. When I watched videos on YouTube I can see that the girls wearing it have that orange cast as well even though they are praising the product.

I wish I could return it, but I accidentally threw away the box 🙁 lesson learned for next time… always keep the box ladies until you’re sure about the product!.

Even if you do feel like slaying the day with a full face of makeup, concealer is ALWAYS a must. I was a little nervous with the shade I received as a complimentary sample. I was sent shade “Suma SC1.

5” I would probably have purchased a shade or two lighter then my foundation, but I wouldn’t say this shade was too dark, either. I am a sucker for a 2-in-1 makeup/skincare product. Quite frankly, I am a skincare addict and when I have the opportunity to try out products such as ILIA’s True Skin Serum Concealer, I was extremely excited! The key ingredients are- Stabilized Vitamin C, Mastic, and Albizia Julibrissin Bark Extract.

This is a medium coverage concealer and legitimately lightweight as a feather. This creamy concealer worked miracles on my dark circles, rosacea, and blemishes! I was actually highly impressed with the results.

My face appeared brighter, smoother, and had a more even complexion. I guess you can thank the Vitamin C in this concealer. This concealer is literally your skin but a better version of your skin! For best results, use ILIA’s True Skin Priming Serum and ILIA’s True Skin Serum Foundation.

I highly recommend this lovely concealer!.

I don’t understand the hype around this concealer. It was very cakey, hardly had any coverage, doesn’t blend well into the skin (no matter how much I pushed the product in with a beauty blender it will just sit on top of the skin weirdly), separates foundation, creases, moves around throughout the day (even with setting spray and powder), and leaves a ton of these crust looking scrap on your face.

A big reason why I disliked this concealer was the way it accentuates your pores. I struggle with acne and texture and this concealer patches around my pimples and overall makes my skin imperfection stand out more.

This concealer was very expensive so I really wanted to make it work so I tried it with different primers and setting sprays but no matter what this product just did not work for me. I also had a issue with the shade.

Ilia’s complexion products run pretty yellow so the shade arrowroot (2nd lightest) was too dark and yellow for me. I think that they should have used a more accurate description of the shade and model because arrowroot is nowhere near the model’s skin tone.

I have a fair skin with a mix of cool and neutral undertone and this didn’t work for me so if you are someone that has a true pale skin none of the shades in this collection will match you perfectly.

One thing I liked about it was how lightweight and thin the formula is.

I received L’oreal’s True Match True Concealer in the shade W3-4 Light to try in exchange for my honest opinion. I was pretty impressed with this product. The formula is silky and very blendable. It allows you to layer coverage to get your desired look.

I applied this concealer with a Beauty Blender in the mornings before work. I found it easy to work. After application I set my under eyes with a little translucent powder. I was able to get full coverage for dark circles and it calmed some of my puffiness from 4-hour sleep nights as well.

I am usually out of my house for about a total of 12-13 hours a day, even after a full day once I returned home, there was no flaking or creasing of my under eyes. They remained smooth and concealed.

One more thing I’d like to mention is the packaging. I liked the squeeze tube which allowed me to control the amount of product I disbursed. It also doesn’t allow for cross-contamination like a concealer pot or pan which I appreciated.

For a drugstore product at a relatively low cost, I was quite impressed. But I didn’t expect anything less from L’oreal. They are synonymous with groundbreaking beauty products and standards. I will be purchasing this product and recommending to friends and family in the future.

This continues to be a holy grail product for me. In the past I’ve used concealers such as too faced born this way, nars, and UD naked skin. All had things I didn’t love about them. This one has no drawbacks in my opinion.

Full coverage but lays thin on the skin. I do pair it with other hourglass products including their setting powder and vanish stick foundation. I also use the hourglass veil primer and typically use too faced hangover setting spray.

This always lasts and doesn’t tend to exacerbate fine lines. I might start to see issues on days where my skin is extremely dehydrated but even still, it’s pretty forgiving and doesn’t seem to cling.

I just wish hourglass would add more colors, because I tend to mix cedar and birch. It’s annoying having to carry around 2. Other than that, this is the best concealer I’ve tried yet.

Bought a sample size previously as nervous about colour & texture – have used Nars for several years but coverage not working for me, then tried some cheaper ones like ELF – too thin. Needed something that would last the day, blend quickly and suit my 60-year old asian/mediterranean tone skin and cover very dark under eye circles.

Hourglass was a revelation – so bought the full size version. Lasts all day even after a hot yoga class. Doesn’t crease and the colour range unusually has several colours for yellow-toned skin so I look fresh rather than plastered.

Great coverage (you can build up) so have not needed to use foundation everyday. Hasn’t irritated my sensitive contact lens wearing eyes and no scrubbing needed to remove. Really pleased with it – it is expensive so hats off to Hourglass for making in trial sizes so you can try before comitting fully.

Wish more premium companies did this.

The absolute worst concealer next to anything at they dollar store. Concealer doesn’t need to be so cakey and dry. We legit just need a full coverage lighter shade. This stuff ages me ten years and that’s not ok in book.

I almost cried when I was done. I cannot stand any of the concealer last from this brand. I just can’t. It’s truly worth your money to invest in a good smooth concealer that also hydrates. They need to catch up with the times.

We need MOISTURE! I ten out of ten so not recommend this. Unless you’re a perfect Priceline skinned doll without a single wrinkle. If you are it’ll probably give you wrinkles. I hate having to leave such bad reviews sometimes but it’s honesty and that’s what im here to give.

This concealer covers everything it needs to without cracking, creasing or caking! I’ve tried concealers from many brands — CT, Nars, Shiseido, ELF, the list goes on… most concealers I’ve tried just don’t give me the coverage I want.

I have minor dark circles, but on the day to day I don’t want to use a color corrector under my concealer. Most concealers will cover the circles as soon as I apply and set it, but then they move throughout the day and my dark circles end up peaking through.

This concealer works miracles!! Haha. It’s that good. It does everything I want it to do and stays put. The formula is high coverage yet creamy and blend-able. The shade range is also really great. I wear 40NY (neutral yellow) but can also wear 40NN (just a tad more pink).

No need to layer a CC under since this concealer is 2 in 1. I highly recommend this concealer!.

I don’t normally write reviews, but figured I’d do a 5 star to motivate the manufacturer to never discontinue making this concealer. It’s my favorite after trying pretty much every concealer on the market.

The trick for me with this one is using a very small amount – it’s still great coverage and looks more natural when it’s not slathered on. The issue some people expressed about it making wrinkles and fine lines stand out only applies when a thick amount is used.

I typically use shade 40NN and it’s very natural looking. Other N shades in various depth are great too (I switch up in summer/winter depending on my tan level). Shade 40NN is similar to the discontinued Lancome Maquicomplet shade 220 BUFF (but consistency is thicker / fuller coverage).

Holy grail concealer. Between this and YSL Touche Eclat, there is no better concealer. It matches skin tone and texture beautifully and really does look like naked skin. It also doesn’t need to be set w/ powder if you only use 1 layer.

Buildable coverage and looks good under the eyes and anywhere else. I don’t like YSL’s because it really is an under-eye concealer only; it doesn’t look normal on the rest of your face. I like the brightness it adds though so I keep it in rotation.

This one is a great all-purpose concealer and I always have to have it on hand. Also it will never ever budge.

This definitely isn’t my favorite concealer, but I also don’t hate it. The color is just a touch too dark for me, but I can work with it. To me it feels very thick, the first time I tried applying with a concealer brush and it was a disaster.

It tugged at my delicate eye area, wouldn’t blend, and sat on top of my skin in a kind of blotchy way. The second time I tried with a beauty blender and that also didn’t work for me. I’ve discovered my personal best application technique is to apply to one eye at a time (otherwise it dries before you’ve finished blending the first eye), and pat in gently with my fingertip.

Because it’s a tad bit too dark for me it doesn’t really brighten my under eye, but it does help cover my dark circles. The packaging is cute, there’s not really any smell, and it didn’t irritate my sensitive eyes.

It did start creasing towards the very end of the day, but I’d say if you’re just needing it for the work day you’d be fine. I don’t set it with powder because I’m very dry, but I bet if you did it would last longer.

Overall, not the best out there in my opinion, but not bad and I’ll continue using it. Probably wouldn’t buy again unless they came out with a lighter cool shade.

I love this product. I have the Dior Forever foundation in 2N, which is perfect for my fair skin. I wanted something that would cover the bags under my eyes but would not crease. The Dior Forever Skin Correct in 1N is amazing! I would definitely would buy it again when I run out.

LIKES: – The product glides on perfectly with the smooth applicator. – Finally a product that is useful! I have been following some Tik Tok videos on how to use concealer and my mind is blown by how brilliant this make up is! I can create a simple look with the product, such as a face lift.

– Lasts all day! I have oily skin and it blends so well with my foundation that I hardly see a shine at the end of the day. – It can be used as an eyelid primer. The staying power of my eyeshadow lasts longer now.

– The coverage is really matte. I think I will use this in the summer months without foundation as I believe it was will just hide the scary areas (my tired eyes and adult acne). DISLIKES: – Try not to apply too much under the eye as I found it looked too cakey.

On another note, the staff were really helpful finding me the right product for me. I am a wheelchair user and one of the staff members took the product to the till and helped me access the beauty counter.

I could not access some products, such as the eye shadows but she brought them to me and showed me the choices. I felt very grateful for her patience and excellent customer service.

Pros: so so so easy to blend, lasts all day and night without crusting, does not crease (u may not even need setting powder), the soft matte finish helps to blur out imperfections and any eye bags, medium to full coverage (depending on how you apply it).

It feels and looks like a higher-priced concealer. I reach for this when my undereyes aren’t looking so good because it really helps to conceal those flaws. The shade 2WP is about 1 shade lighter than my medium-tan golden skintone and is the perfect warm peachy shade to brighten &neutralize any undereye darkness without highlighting any bags.

Cons: can be too drying if you have dry skin so prep and moisturize well and this is not one of those concealers you would need to bake with. If this were a little bit more hydrating, I would give it 5 stars.

But I adjust my application methods: I use my fingers to melt the product into the skin, make sure my undereyes are moisturized, use very little setting powder if needed, and it’s a beautiful concealer.

It’s probably even better if you don’t have dry skin.

I use the shade L7 and is the perfect neutral undertone for light skintones. It has peach and yellow which is perfect for correcting and concealing. It is very smoothing on the under eye, good medium/full coverage and never creases on my oily skin.

Furthermore, it lasts all day without any creasing or fading. It looks amazing with most under eye setting powders, however, in my opinion, the best ones are Pat McGrath’s light under eye pressed powder or the laura mercier secret brightening powder.

The only thing I wish was different was the amount of product you get, I wish it was more like 8/9ml instead of 5ml. I hope they release a bigger version for a good price. Overall, brilliant product and my go to concealer that I can always count on!.

I had never purchased anything from Pat MGrath, as it’s not available in Europe but something got into me on Jan 1st and I ordered the Nymphette blush and the concealer in shade LT2. I was uncertain about both shades (not sure I like gold pearl) and was worried the concealer may be too light, and too yellow.

Then I waited. And waited, and waited. My order arrived exactly a month later. Talk about suspense. I didn’t think I’d write a review because I was too mad at the shipping but OMG. I had never tried a better concealer! It’s not heavy, but it’s full coverage, it’s perfect for concealing dark spots and blemishes, yet it works wonderfully under the eyes! And the blush.

I think I probably own more than 20 blushes (incl. Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, Dior and YSL) and this is THE BEST. The golden pearl is invisible, it just adds luminosity and natural warmth to the skin, but without compromising the overall cooler tone of the blush.

I have very pale skin (im a ginger) and this is literally the only complexion product I’ve used ghat is so light its actually brightening my eyes and face not just matching it! I couldnt be happier woth the formulation and color, the texture is thick but not too gloopy and the finish is just perfect for me.

Lots more coverage than the foundation which is perfect for my darker spots. I suggest buying one to brighten the highlights of the face which should be a shade or two lighter than your skin and then get one that is a ln exact match to cover the non-highlighted points of the face.

Seriously, as long as i stay away from drying products and dimethicone, this concealer lasts all day and doesnt make my dry flaky skin look worse. only needs a thin layer to be applied so it doesnt crease, and ive found the most pretty finish by using a beauty sponge dampened with setting spray or refreshing moisturizing spray etc Pat McGrath fricking does it again! Worth every penny.

I bought this in 2 shades, one matching my skin tone and one slightly brighter. Shade-wise I think they’re really good, it goes on great and seems to blend well with concealers by other brands. However I have knocked a star off because it goes on lovely but dries matte – something I personally wanted to avoid.

It *feels* fine when wearing it, but as I have dry skin, dark circles and fine lines under my eye, I find it settles in creases and sort of looks drier than I’d like. I’m still using it but wouldn’t purchase again after it runs out.

Just to put things into perspective. I have hyper pigmentation under my eyes that is very dark. I use the following on a daily basis to cover this: -Becca undereye corrector – shape tape concealer – bye bye undereye concealer – brightening setting powder This concealer has replaced three out of the four items above.

It is that good! You have no idea how happy I am that I don’t have to spend 20 minutes covering my under eyes anymore. This is a must have.

This is a unique concealer, however, some skin types may not appreciate or even detect what makes it unique. I have collected over a dozen of the highest rated concealers, but this one literally ‘takes the cake’.

Like a lot of popular concealers on the market today, it does dry down, HOWEVER, if you apply it to clean skin under your eyes, it will not *at all* emphasize texture. It will crease, but a light dusting of high quality (very finely milled) powder will set it.

Still, even after setting it: no texture, and it is high coverage! I have been able to apply a second, thin layer while not losing the affect, but that is only because I have the darkest circles contrasting against my very fair skin.

The coverage is still on par with the best high end. The area ends up appearing moisturized, but I don’t know how it is doing that as it does dry down fairly quickly. If you have issues with texture under your eye, and you really are hankering for a liquid concealer, she is your girl!.

Morphe Filter Effect Soft Radiance Concealer in Light 6 is the perfect skin tone match for me, which is rare! It also perfectly matches Morphe Filter Soft-Focus Foundation in Filter Light 6. It’s a neutral light shade with a slight hint of warmth.

It’s not as longwearing on acne scars, however, it wears nicely on the undereyes. It never looks patchy or dry, and it has buildable medium to full coverage without looking cakey. It’s not transfer-proof as it does transfer onto face masks, however, it is transfer resistant.

It has a skin-like natural satin finish. Also, it’s infused with great ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin, which gives it a hydration and moisture boost. I can see this working on dry and sensitive skin.

Moreover, I love that it has a flat flexible long doe foot applicator, which holds a lot of product, so you can conceal all the spots on the entire face without redipping. And the applicator is narrow and flexible, so it’s easy to control how much you want to apply to a spot.

And, it comes in 20 different shades.

First things first I wish this concealer came in more options. Especially because of the undertones. I purchased 2 concealers in rich 32 warm (more of a skin toned shade) and rich 26 cool (highlight).

While these work beautifully on my skin I still feel like they need to add a few in between shades because it jumps from cool to warm and what if you need neutral but the shade is either way too dark or way too light for your needs?? They could do better with that.

THAT BEING SAID. if you do find your shades this is HOLYGRAIL STATUS!!! It’s such a thin and liquid consistency BUT HIGH COVERAGE. Non drying, doesn’t crease, looks airbrushed. Everything I loved about their fluidity concealer this is it x10 and BETTER.

This looks sooo amazing and I think it’s even better if you do 2 coats of it under eyes. That may seem like a lot but the consistency is so thin you can layer it no problem. I set it done and then bake using the too faced ethereal translucent powder.

*** I received these products for free from Influenster and Morphe in exchange for my honest review*** As someone with sensitive, dry skin, I’m fairly picky about my foundation and concealer. This concealer far exceeded my expectations for a $12 concealer!! It blended incredibly easily, didn’t crack or wear off over the course of the day, and could be layered for more coverage.

I am partial to buildable coverage so this was ideal for me. The best part was my skin didn’t dry out or flake in areas where I used the concealer. I focused on my undereye area and some acne scars on the cheeks and jawline.

It brightened my undereyes and effectively masked blemishes on my face. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is the applicator. I felt it was a bit too small/narrow for my liking and applying the concealer with the shape of the applicator was a bit odd.

However I would certainly buy this again!.
