20 Best External Battery For Nintendo Switch (2023 Updated)

I got it on sale for $79. 99. It charges my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my Oneplus phone really fast when connected separately. Both phones when connected at same time charge phones in decent time but drain this power bank.

I usually charge when get my phones down to 20 or 30 percent. I don’t think it has enough juice to charge my 14inch MacBook Pro sufficiently because it takes some time to charge. When Anker bank is plugged into an outlet all this changes and all charging times speed up.

I wish it was a little smaller and more compact.

I’ve had this product for almost a month now and I get so excited every time I see that this portable battery plugs into the wall to charge directly. I would always lose those short cords that comes with other power banks.

This product just makes complete sense and it’s a shame that it’s not more common to find power banks that also connect to wall outlets directly. It’s made traveling a lot easier. I’m already planning on buying a second one.

I’ve used this charger now 3 times, and each time I’m amazed and how quick it charges my phone. I have a Samsung S22 Ultra. I quick charge usually takes about an hour. This charger cut that charging time down considerably.

My only complaint is how heavy it is. I’m definitely taking this with me on vacation.

I’ve been using Anker products for about 8 or so years now, ever since I came across what looked like a promising young company on Amazon. I both live in a hurricane-prone and enjoy hiking/camping, so having dependable portable power is a must.

The only issue I’ve ever had with your products are actually the USB cable extensions. The batteries and actual cables have always proven robust and reliable.

Minor complaints: I worry a lot about dropping this. I wish the center of it was a little narrower to aid with the grip. Secondly, it would have been nice to include a newer charger with this such as a Nano II.

Lastly some guidance for trickle charging would be helpful. If I don’t use trickle charging will I damage my watch? How do I deal with mixed devices that include a watch?.

At last I can power and recharge my Macbook without an AC outlet. This is a solution Apple should have created long ago. My earlier Macbook Pro 2015 didn’t have the stamina to support working inflight over the Pacific for very long, especially after a few years on.

I’m impressed with the fit and finish of the PowerCore 26K for Laptop and hope for it to provide many years of service.

This charger was definitely worth the price. It came with a little mesh travel bag to hold the power bank, and the power bank’s charger cable. I like how compact yet powerful all maker products are especially this power bank.

The power bank charged my phone very fast, and it still had another 2 dots remaining for me to charge the phone up again. I brought this device with me to Disney and I don’t regret it. I recommend this for anyone going to a concert or doing lots of walking for a day trip.

This will definitely keep your device charged. I already have the maker charger cables and they do charge my drives fast and the cables are the most durable ones I have ever bought. The ends aren’t splitting like cheaper ones.

I’m going to buy their power blocks next. I have not tried charging anything larger than an iPhone XR so I can’t speak for how fast it’ll charge larger devices. The only concern was it felt a little warm after charging my phone, but that could have been because I was in the extremely hot Florida sun.

Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase.

The only thing worse than being tied to one spot while your phone is charging is to not have enough juice when the power goes out because of wind, ice, forest fire, etc. etc. Or when you anticipate power going out for a few hours because of wind, ice, forest fire, etc.

I recently received one as a gift from Eufy in exchange for an honest review. It’s slightly bigger than units I currently have. But it comes with a handy drawstring bag so you can keep it with its power cord (which can be used either to charge a device or to plug the Power Bank into a wall charger) so you don’t have to scramble looking for the latter.

I ran it through its paces and it packs a lot more power in that tiny bit of extra size. After fully charging the Power Bank, I charged two cell phones to 100% — one that was completely dead (2-1/4 hours) and one that was down to 15% (2-1/2 hours, probably because that was my main phone and I did respond to a couple of texts and one call while it was charging).

By then my tablet was down to 19% and since it’s older and the battery doesn’t last as long as it used to, I decided to charge it as well. The Power Bank had about 45 minutes more charge left in it and brought the tablet to 78%.

That, plus the full charge I probably would have started with, could (if I was circumspect in my usage) have lasted me several days with the electricity out. The one disadvantage of the Power Bank is that it took 9 hours to fully recharge, something that will need to be taken into consideration if your power is out for more than a few days and you have to go elsewhere to charge your devices.

But since you will usually be charging the Power Bank when you don’t need it, the length of time it takes shouldn’t be a problem. Being able to charge as many devices as it does is well worth the extra recharge time.

I bought the Anker PowerCore 10000 to power a heated vest. It works great. I can get about 8-10 hours of usage powering my vest. It’s relatively small and fits into the vest nicely. It’s not too heavy (it is a 10000mAh battery) so I expect it to weigh more than the lighter 2500-5000mAh power banks.

I needed a smaller battery to fit into the pocket. Note that this only has a micro-USB port to charge the actual power bank. There are other models with USB-C (which I do wish this also had). But, I need a small form factor and the other models are larger.

The product seems to built very well. Hopefully it lasts a long time.

If you plan on bringing your switch on a long road trip or play mostly in handheld mode like me I highly reccomend this. Its not going to charge your switch from 0-100% but it will definitly give it some more juice for those times where the switch is about to die.

The kickstand on this thing is awesome way better than the one that comes on the switch. I also love that it moves the usb-c port to the side thats a huge plus when charging. Additonally you can charge both with the same plug.

It will charge the switch first then the battery. This is extremley useful if you need more battery life on the switch fits securly on and has been a life saver in some situations.

I got this on a great sale. The kind that you can redirect from Best Buys Daily Deals. It holds a considerable charge. My boys are having a much harder time trying to kill the battery life of the Switch and this additional battery through all there intent gameplay.

It’s comfortably placed and not overweight. The stand is built will too. Perfect for constant use or easy enough to store for those road trips.

I bought this for a nephew’s birthday and it works well on their family trips when there are other needs for charging ports. He can continue playing his video games without interruption. Even better that I found it for half price.

This battery is very impressive. Its actually small in size, and packs enough juice to fully charge my Switch 1. 5 times. It also does it tremendously fast. Its actually much faster than the dock if you are actively using the switch while charging.

This is because when you dock, the switch will ramp up its power consumption to issue better performance. This makes it so less of the power that is supplied by the AC charger reaches the battery. If you charge with this battery instead of the dock, and play while in handheld, the power consumption will remain low and the battery can charge faster.

You’ll get the same effect if you play in handheld and use the AC power adapter to charge directly without the dock. Its small, the build quality feels great, and charges quickly when using the PD port (regular speed when using the IQ port).

The drawback is that this battery brings no wall charger. It can be charged via the IQ port (USB-A) in a dozen different ways, but the best one is to use the PD port (USB-C) with the Nintendo Switch AC power adapter.

Overall I really like this battery, and I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking to extend handheld Switch use. As far as i could find, this is the only battery out there certified for switch use and I didn’t want to risk getting a cheaper option since the Switch doesn’t use industry standard Power Delivery on its USB-C port.

If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch, then just get the standard version and save yourself a few bucks. Otherwise, go ahead, you won’t find one better than this for a while.

This charger packs a punch – I couldn’t believe how much playing time you can get from it. Although, I have mainly used it with my iPhone. My phone gets multiple charges before having to recharge the powercore.

I do wish that it came with a USB to mini USB cord for charging (it only has mini USB to mini USB), but I was able to find one from another device in my cord bin. Overall, it’s a little too large/heavy to carry around in my purse every day for phone backup (I use a different maker power bank for that!) but it’s perfect for situations where you think you’ll need lots of power or multiple charges!.

I bought this battery bank to make the Nintendo Switch last longer, out of the box came a fully charged battery bank and it was great. Once the bank went dead trying to recharge the back is where the issue was.

I’m not sure if I got a bad batch or what but it will not recharge. I have used several different cords and different outlets hoping that the cord was the issue but sadly no. The second issue I had was after I decided to return the item was getting it off the switch.

I almost damaged the system on this cheap garbage of a bank. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

The power bank holds a large charge and is great for long times without access to a wall charger. Suprising how inexpensive it is for how much charge it holds. It can also charge any other device like a phone so that’s one less external battery to carry around.

The only reason for the 4 stars is because it is hard to put on and take off of the switch because of its very rugged and durable build. Finish and materials used are very nice but pick up fingerprints and much as the switch itself.

Just got this, satisfied with it so far. The battery seems to hold a solid charge. The case securely fits onto the Nintendo switch. That however is the only complaint I have. It seems a little too difficult to take the case on and off.

And I’m afraid in time it might wear away at both the switch and the case. The instructions did not have any info about how to put the case on and off.

I have been needing one of these for a long while. I couldn’t even update my Garmin NUVI since it wouldn’t stay powered up. Works perfectly. Only caveat: The included video, while very useful, doesn’t explain that if you have bulk storage (SD card) inserted, you need to remove it before trying to remove the circuit board.

Aside from that it’s a pretty easy installation. Glad I got this.

The instructions on disassembly missed one screw, top center just under the cushioning for the bezel. Put new battery in plugged in the charger and was rewarded with a blinking yellow LED. Reading up on the condition, the blinking yellow light indicates the battery is not charging.

Left it plugged up for 3 days hoping it would start to charge, no luck. Pulled the battery and plugged in the charger and same result, no battery no charge so what I read rang true. Long story short the battery arrived dead and could not be charged.

Returned to Walmart and was disappointed to find I could not get a refund. I will have to send to original seller. No advantage to ordering from Walmart. Bad experience all around.

The battery itself is fine I am sure. However, the video and instructions did not warn that the glue holding the face plate would make it very hard to pry open. There was no warning about how applying slightly too much pressure could drive their included pry tool into the screen.

Now I have a Kindle with a good battery and a massive mark on the upper left of the screen, or basically a brick. I could have saved the money from the battery and bought a used Kindle. The instructions should have a STRONG warning, they have none.

Must buy a 65W PD charger for this to be used efficiently. I use this with Surface Pro 8 and it works ok. Around 50% of the powerbank is used for ~2hrs of moderate use. Did not test further, but I would expect ~3-4hrs with full charge for moderate use.

We charge it with the original 20w iPad charger and it charges fast! Amazing performance. We charge the iPad (11′ PRO 2018) 4 times!! This battery bank is THE BEST!

I really thought that this was going to be a great product until it got to my house, and I realize that it only had one place to charge and one plug-in. I also have the Mophie xl chargers and they charge the same amount of phones, it is way smaller and portable and has the same amount of charging power.

I have 12 mophie chargers and this by far is the biggest let down in all my purchases. This thing is huge (and that would not be a problem if had more spots for other phones to be charged or if it had more charging power then my XL) it is very heavy, it does not charge anymore them a couple of my other chargers.

I was definitely very disappointed in this product and that was such a disappointment due to the fact that I have absolutely LOVED every other product I have ever purchased of y’all’s. I am so sorry but I just could not find anything nice to say other then I really liked the looks of it.

Also it is sticky to touch which I found rather odd.

The item works well, but the fan can get annoying. In a scenario where I plugged in an ipad to the usb c port and a laptop into the AC port, the fan pulsed up and down continuously. Not a huge deal, but for a $200 battery, you would hope it would be a bit more refined.

If you were using this in a quieter setting it would definitely annoy you or the people around you. i. e. if you were in a meeting or class or a coffee shop. It would have been better if the fan just stayed on at a high setting or a low setting instead of cycling between the 2.

I confirmed with mophie that this is normal behavior. Other than that, the item works well and serves its intended purpose.

Bought this specifically for a 11 day vacation in Scotland. Most of it in a camper van. Worked great until I ran it flat empty. Apparently, it will not charge from zero when plugged into a power supplied laptop.

Was afraid I burned something up. Got home and plugged it into a wall charger (I left that at home) and it recharged. As long as there is some power left it will charge from a laptop just let it go to zero.

It’s a good product – it is compact and very quickly charges my iPhone 13 Mini. However, the plastic shell is extremely slippery and immediately crashed on the floor when I tried to take it out of its packaging.

Not a great first-use experience to end up with a scratched and scuffed device. PD chargers, which is what is needed to quick charge the battery, are still expensive and a bit hard to come by. So, I’d recommend it – but just make sure to hold on tight.

I already own the big brother to this Anker powercore. I needed something that would power a audio recorder, which uses a usb-c connector. Having read up if it was compatible with this device, and behold it does the trick perfectly.

At quick look it’s a wall charger with multiple usb A to charge your phone, etc. And it’s great for that. But the real trick here is that it’s also a battery bank! Love it! And unlike most battery banks you don’t need yet another wire to charge the bank, just plug it in the wall.

Here’s the nitpick. They come “charged” (4 lights lit) BUT. 4 lights doesn’t mean its fully charged. You can still charge it up more straight out of the box. While charging, the 4th light will never stop blinking.

The only way for me to tell if it’s not charging anymore is to feel the wall charger and look to see if its not hot anymore. (about 45 minutes after the 4th light starts blinking with a 2. 4A charger) They are a bit big.

All in all, its a good charger with great a capacity; Worth 5 Eggs.

I used to own an anker battery pack before this but honestly, this is the best battery pack I’ve come across. Everything, from the design to the functionality, illustrates a keen attention to detail and the urge to make something unique.

I am amazed by how it has worked charging built in it and love how the digits display on the top bar (I’m a big fan of cyberpunk and the synthwave aesthetic so I’d look into messing with the colors and design to showcase that aesthetic of I was in the company!).

So far this is the best power bank I’ve owned, and I’ve gone through plenty. I love the size, the feel, and most of all, the ability to charge my phone without a charging cable. If it could only charge my Apple Watch without it’s charger, then I’d say it’s perfect.

It is so convenient to have. With the way phone technology is going nowadays, people are constantly scrambling to the nearing outlet to charge their phones. Having this new portable charger is perfect in the event I am out and need to give my phone some juice.

This is the only battery charging pack you will ever need unless you buy the bigger one, which they both have the turbo charge! This phone battery pack lasts for several days, charging my phone when I’m out “back country” camping! I rely heavily on it! It is small and compact but rugged and extremely well made! You can charge 2 things at once such as a phone and tablet, although that does effect the life of the battery pack charger.

Also, the battery pack charge only takes about an hour or so to fully charge if you have your vehicle near by or other 12 volt charging device. You just can’t go wrong, I think that the ” My Charge” battery pack chargers are the best out there and I’ve had several other brands! I’ve had the charger and used it for two weeks. It’s not a bad charger. A lil heavy for backpacking but it has a lot of potential. The bad part is the free shipping they claim on the page to US. Once it’s in your cart, it still adds a $10 shipping fee.

I checked before my review and it’s still there. Customer service offered a refund for the shipping so I bought it, but here it is two weeks later and the site still broken. Even the manufacturer offers true free shipping.

This has obviously put a bad taste for anything else klymit in my mouth.

This is the worst power bank I ever owned. 20k mah should last a lot longer. It list itself as waterproof but that only if it’s not in use and the seals are closed. What good if it’s only waterproof when you’re not using it !.

One day at the beach and water splashed it lightly as in it didn’t get submerged at all. That same night it wouldn’t charger when plugged in. Don’t fall for the misleading advertising. This isn’t any more rugged than other power banks.

I bought this because it was long enough I thought I could charge 2 devices on it at the same time. It has a smaller charging area than the whole pad so it will only charge devices on the center of the pad.

It is also a little slower than my samsung charger and the one built into my truck. It works as a backup but not using it as my primary.

I own a galaxy note 10 plus and the phone does not get charged unless you take off the slim case I have it on. My other wireless charger charges it with the case on. Additionally you have to set the phone down and move it around to see if the pad detects it and starts charging.

Often times I will remove the phone 2 or 3 times before it detects and starts charging it.

This portable charger has been great in helping my phone stay alive when I am out with friends skateboarding. It charges my phone quickly and has a nice slim design that does not take up much space. Having an outdated phone, my battery usually does not last as long so Skullcandy has come to the rescue quite often with this product.

Charging my camcorder at the skatepark has also been easier thanks to my Stash mini.

This charging kit is pretty good. The plug is quite useful and I like how long the cable is too. It’s also very nice that there’s a car charger. However, I have noticed that the Switch only charges when it’s off while it’s plugged in.

Not that major for me though, I just have to remember to keep it off while using the cable and wall charger.

Charges faster than the stock cable and dock! Exactly what I was looking for, and for the open box price it can’t be beat! $15 and change gets you not only the long Type C ultra charging cable and wall outlet plug-in (high watts, no slow charging here!), but the AC adapter for car/travel as well! Durable and high quality.

Blows the stock charger out of the water with a charge time of about 30-40min or less!.

It doesn’t work for the console dock. It can still charge, the you can’t connect your console to TV because this AC adapter is not compatible with switch for some reason. Waste of money. Better get Nintendo original AC adapter if you want to play switch on TV.

I purchased this device because I was hoping to be able to charge my phone up wirelessly in situations where I wouldn’t have access to a source to plug in. This device did not work for those purposes.

I have a Samsung Galaxy. I was able to charge it through the USB overnight but my phone never made it up to 100%. It made it up to about 97% and then it died and stop charging.

Love the size, easy to fit in your pocket and very light weight. It charges very quickly. As for while using it to charge items, it was quick and was able to keep its charging ability for a good amount of time.

Unfortunately if you were using the item you are charging, it only lasted a two hours to three hours.
