20 Best Extended Rear Facing Car Seat (2023 Updated)

After hours upon hours of researching car seat safety I decided to purchase a Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 4-35 in February 2021. I had originally purchased a Nuna Pipa Car Seat but returned it for a Peg Perego because I felt my baby and future babies would be safer in this seat.

I now regret ever returning the Nuna Pipa Seat. The first time I noticed an issue with my Peg Perego was when I stopped at a stop sign and heard my car seat click in fully. This happened twice before I realized I have to slam down on the car seat with all my might to make sure that the right side of the car seat clicks into the base.

When I use the car seat in my mother and mother in laws base it clicks in with no issue. I told myself there was no issue as I had done my research and this seat was the best option. I decided I would just slam down on the car seat each time to make sure it latched down completely.

A family member drove my son using my base and afterwards I realized I never told them about the malfunction and that likely it wasn’t installed correctly. This should never be a concern for a parent.

I want to feel confident that anyone can buckle my child in properly not only me. After this I decided to call and ask for a replacement. The woman from Peg Perego asked for the information on my base.

To my surprise this car seat was manufactured in 2018. We purchased it in February 2021. She then told me the car seat was no longer under warranty due to when it was manufactured. I told her I had just purchased it and she argued with me saying I had not.

Even after sending an email confirmation with the date of purchase she still told me I was wrong. After tons of phone calls to them they finally agreed to send us a new car seat and base. They told us we had to send our base back to them before they would send us a new one.

Thankfully I was able to borrow my mother in laws base (because obviously safety is not their priority). We just received the replacement base and they sent it back in the same box I had sent the original in with no sort of packing material.

The base has absolutely no protection. I have no idea how I’m supposed to know that this base is even safe to use as it was probably tossed around in shipping. I could not be more disappointed. PLEASE do not waste your money on this!.

PEG PEREGO BOOKLET 50 car seat/stroller. My 6 month old daughter got her head stuck sideways under the ledge of this car seat while I was driving. DANGEROUS! She could have suffocated. I’m very disappointed and angry.

I checked everything to make sure this didn’t happen by the placement or anything on my end. Nope. It’s just the seat. I spent $700+ on this travel system thinking I was getting “top of the line” in safety and quality.

WRONG! Not only is it dangerous, sun shade won’t stay up unless it’s clicked all the way forward and if your carrying the seat w the shade up, forget it. It’ll just fall back down. Stroller does not have cup holder or anywhere to put your keys or phone.

Stroller does not have a snack tray. All around waste of money.

So I previously purchased the Nido base prior to the complete carseat system to ensure that it could be installed into each of our family vehicles. As previously stated, although the initial installation of the base is a bit tricky, it can be done and is easier once you get the hang of what you’re doing! To be fair I’ve never installed an infant car seat before so it was a learning process all around.

The added safety features of the LATCH, load leg and anti-rebound bar made this my number one choice for our little one who will be arriving in December. The carseat itself is even better in person than I imagined! Some of my favorite features include; the 5-point adjustable harness with elastic straps to keep harness out of the way when placing infant in car seat, the Dual Stage Cushion System with two cushions to properly position baby’s head and shoulders within the protected wings, the shell is lined with perforated, energy-absorbing EPS foam for safety and maximum air circulation, and the Side Impact Protection (SIP) is adjustable to 6 different positions with no re-threading required! I really love the modern look of the carseat, and the extendable mesh hood will certainly come in handy for privacy, during nap time or blocking out the sun on a bright day while still providing ample ventilation for our baby boy.

The fabric is beautiful, soft and is removable and can be washed which I am sure will come in handy in the future. If safety is your top priority, I highly recommend purchasing the Nido! The modern style of the carseat is certainly a plus, but nothing beats the peace of mind of knowing my little one is safe and sound during our travels.

We had the keyfit for our first two but it expired before our third was born last Halloween. I decided to “upgrade” to this Fit2 for the more breathable air edition and higher quality. I like it when it first arrived.

It’s a very nice looking carseat out of the box. First impression was this thing is heavy! Add baby and I can barely carry the thing. Not sure why they skipped the grip on the handle but this plastic handle isn’t the most comfortable thing either.

Making it that much harder to carry. After the first use, the straps started pill and become fuzzy. Makes me worry about how long they’ll last. The newborn head support was crazy small as well. I ended up taking it out to fit my baby who has a pretty small head.

The most concerning part for me though is the straps don’t get very tight and I’m no noob to the carseat game. This is the sixth one we’ve had and probably the second most disappointing one for the price.

Three stars because overall it seems pretty solid and nice looking but Chicco definitely could have done better.

This was honestly one of the best carseats we looked at in terms of safety, weight, comfort, and style. Looking at other carseats in the store, I wondered how some of the plastic or lack of cushioning actually protected your baby and kept baby safe.

I was pleased when we got this product that it came with a newborn positioner to help keep your newborn safe and comfortable while in the carseat. The plastic feels very sturdy and the level of cushioning is the most comfortable I have felt for a carseat without overwhelming the baby in the seat.

I am also a big fan of the style and quality of the fabric. I got one of those caboodle carseat sets and honestly, I don’t even want to use anything but the jersey stretch to cover the carseat as a whole because of how beautiful and soft the fabric inside is.

In terms of safety for the base, there are two positions on the base for your child’s age and development. The seat is rear-facing and front-facing for when they are able to crawl or not able to crawl and hit different height requirements.

The recline is based on their needs and is suitable for children up to 35 pounds. The manual comes with so many different ways to install based on the type of car you have and has a leveler to make sure the carseat is level in the back for safety.

Not that we will use this feature, but there are also instructions on how to install the carseat without the base to assure the safety of your child in the vehicle. The only heavy part about this product is the base in my opinion, but you won’t be taking the base in and out of the car frequently once it is installed.

The weight of the carseat is very manageable and light compared to the other ones we have tested out. I am a fairly small person and this carseat does not feel overwhelming to carry or maneuver. We are also using this carseat with one of the compatible strollers, so I like that while we did not get this as a set, we are able to use the products together.

Overall I would highly recommend this product for the above reasons to anyone looking for a carseat for their newborn or infant. Looking for a carseat can be extremely overwhelming, but based on the hundreds of options out there, we couldn’t be happier with every single part of this product.

Not worth the extra cost for the “air” version. I have the original Fit2 and loved how secure my baby seemed in it compared to other brands of infants seats that my friends had. However, he always gets very hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable in his carseat (baby who normally runs cold and is never sweaty).

I bought a the AIR version hoping to make him more comfortable, but there was absolutely no difference in the results. In a 1 hour ride he was sitting in a puddle and very unhappy. This seat also had a chemical smell that my original did not.

it was strong enough that I could smell it on baby after taking him out of the carseat.

What can you say about a carseat that does its job and keep your little one safe. a must buy. This is the second one I purchased as the first is no longer good as it was just in a car accident. Needless to say I didn’t need to do any research again to see which I was going to buy.

When I first bought this carseat, I did extensive research on the higher safety ratings car seat; this carseat was in the top ten as safest. And unfortunately I see why, as there is nothing scarier then being in an accident with your little babies.

But I am happy and relieved that not a single hair was out of place on my LO’s head, she was just scared from the impact. All our side airbags went off somewhat hitting her carseat as well as the pull down cupholders from the middle seat.

I can’t say how hard her seat was impacted with the airbags but honestly her car seat held up. My LO was alert and her normal self, as if nothing happened. If you are hesitant, I hope this review gives you the confidence to just buy it.

I’ve. Been using chicco keyfit seats for 12+ years and they’re my absolute favorite infant seats. This one is no exception. However, I’ll never order a carseat from Sam’s club again. I ordered and received this in May 2022, and the start sent to me was manufactured in August 2020.

The seat is nearly 2 years old, so it’s 6 year life before expiration already a third used. This is not what I expected after spending so much on a new seat. I reached out to Sam’s club, asking for a partial refund or other compensation for the loss of use, and they refused anything but a return, in which case the seat would have to be destroyed- opened used castaways cannot be resold.

I don’t feel good about that option so I’ve had to just eat the cost. I will definitely shop elsewhere for my next carseat purchase.

Build: Like all of the Chicco products we have used to date, this car seat does not disappoint. I know we will get many years of use out of it because of the quality materials and engineering that went into it.

Function: My wife and I had very different focus areas when it came to selecting a car seat. My number one concern was safety. I was pleased to see this infant car seat in the top ranks. PROS: I love how easy it is to properly install this seat in a vehicle.

There are visible levels and one strap in the middle to synch the seat into place. Once the base is installed it is easy to load and unload the carrier into it. You know it is safely loaded by the “click” sound it makes.

My wife is a fan of the mesh canopy and the zip up boot that will certainly come in handy during the winter months. CONS: The mesh canopy is a little stiff, but I am sure it was designed that way. While all of the latches are bright orange and easy to read, the main release handle in the back is difficult to identify when loaded into the base.

Once you know where its at, its not an issue. Driving is statistically one of the most dangerous things we do each day. I feel comfort knowing I have one of the safest car seats on the market protecting my son.

I would not hesitate recommending this car seat to anyone.

Not safe for Baby I was super excited when I bought this car seat. But once I start using it, I realized that It’s not completely safe for my baby. It actually not steady when you put it on floor. When you put baby in car seat it actually lean back.

Firstly I thought because my baby has not enough weight but it still has same issues. I have to be very very careful when I put my baby on that car seat. Not recommend at all. I never write bad reviews for any item before.

But this is actually for my baby.

I love this carseat and all of the features! however it was extremely difficult to get a proper base installation in my car. I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. I have the unit installed via latch in the back passenger side seat.

Although the base does have a recline feature, it was not enough of a recline in order to have it at the right recline level for newborns. The most the base would recline was at the 25-35lb mark. Even after putting a rolled up towel underneath the base, the little bubble was still closer to the 12-24lb recline rather than the 4-11lbs.

It was also extremely difficult for me to get a tight fit. While I was able to get little to no movement near the back of the base (the end closest to the childs feet), there was still a significant amount of movement towards the front of the base (the end closest to child’s head) This made me extremely uncomfortable.

I will continue to try to tweak the installation until i get what feels like a proper fit. PS. I prefer not to use the seatbelt method as it takes too much extra time to secure when I am in a hurry. Pros: 1.

Amazing canopy. With a newborn, it covers the baby entirely. Older children will have feet exposed. 2. Removable inserts that accommodate tiny newborns 3. No rethread harness system 4. Relatively Lightweight Cons: 1.

Difficult to install in my car 2. Car seat tips over backwards easily when its sitting on the floor (if the handle is not in the far back position to prevent rocking) Have not yet used this car seat with my baby as she is not here yet.

But so far these are the positives and negatives I have found with the carseat.

I purchased this car seat the end of November 2021 during the Black Friday event. Even with the Black Friday pricing, it was an expensive car seat, but after much research and reading many positive reviews, I was happy to shell out for the seat.

Fast forward to this week when my husband and I are setting it up in anticipation of our baby arriving…. I was surprised to notice a manufacture date of 2019 and an expiration date of 2025. Thinking it was a mistake where old stock was put out, I called Toys R Us’ to explain the situation, as it’s crazy that seats are being sold with only half the life until expiration left in them.

There was no accommodation made on the part of Toys R Us’ and I was told that the seat was likely put on sale due to the approaching expiration date. I told the manager that it was actually on sale with Black Friday pricing and if it’s being marketed that way, but actually on sale due to the expiration I feel that’s misrepresentation.

I was again told nothing could be done. I am very disappointed that Toys R Us’ would be still selling a seat half way to expiration (hopefully if you are looking at buying it full price on the website now it has a newer manufacture date than mine), and also disappointed that they will do nothing to make the situation right.

I will not buy from Toys R Us’ again. Beware of the dates before you buy this seat. There is no manufacture or expiration dates on the box to give you a heads up. I think this is a good seat and would have been a fair price had it been manufactured closer to the time I purchased it.

we purchased the car seat when we found out we were pregnant. unfortunately, we lost the baby so didn’t get to use the car seat until we had our rainbow baby last year. we had similar issues as others- the sun canopy is completely useless, and it’s difficult to release and maneuver the handle.

FINE, we put up with it UNTIL the Styrofoam mysteriously SNAPPED IN HALF one day. We were not in an accident, we did not manhandle the car seat. it just broke. we tried the customer service (can only submit a form via the website) and ended up using facebook messaging system because NO ONE was getting back to us.

since we had the car seat and never thought we’d have to deal with this, we didn’t keep the receipt. even though we registered with the cybex website apparently that info is only used for recall purpose, and cannot be used a proof of purchase.

All we asked for is the styrofoam replacement which they denied us, AND IT CANNOT EVEN BE PURCHASED. instead we were asked to tape it and glue it together. WHAT? the foam was snapped, broken, in half.

the seat cover can’t even stay on properly and we are supposed to MacGyver it so we can transport our baby in it? Anyway, just terrible. WILL NOT RECOMMEND.

I tried to love this car seat. We bought the Aton m and two bases. The first base arrived broken so it needed to be replaced. Same issue as everyone else…the buttons got stuck and once they’re messed up you cannot unstick them.

We used this seat for the first few months of my daughters life. Every time we went to put the seat into the base it was a huge struggle. You had insert the seat juuuust perfectly for it to lock into the base.

It gave me anxiety every time we needed to put it in the car. We switched her to a Sirona M pretty early because she is tall and outgrew the Aton quickly. We got pregnant w baby number two shortly after and decided to use the Aton M again as we’d already spent so much $$ on the seat and bases.

We went on our first road trip w our new baby and the base broke (same issue w the buttons) at 8 am when we were leaving to come back home. The features on this seat are unparalleled but the engineering of the base and the way it connects to the seat are severely flawed.

Truthfully, it should be discontinued. It is so difficult to get the seat into the base I am certain there are people who are accidentally not inserting it properly. It’s unsafe.

This carseat looks great, unfortunately that’s where the pros end. My child has been using this for 4 months because I can’t just buy another car seat. She cries in it though because it’s so uncomfortable.

The headrest pushes down on her shoulders and you can’t adjust the straps separately from the headrest. This is a problem because the straps need to be at or below the shoulders. I can either have her shoulders be comfortable or have the straps at the safest setting but I can’t have both.

The buttons for the handle and release from the base sometimes stick. The sun shade doesn’t move freely without getting stuck on something. And once you extend the headrest too far you can’t move the handle all the way back which can lead to baby bumping her head while getting out.

Overall a terrible design and vastly over priced.

First I have to say I wanted to like it SO BAD. When I was pregnant I loved it, it looks so cozy and safe and the installation of the base was ridiculously easy. BUT if you have any sort of angle in the seating of your car you will continue to struggle getting the car seat to un latch from the base.

And even worse the head safety padding is too narrow for my baby’s head. When he was a newborn it was fine but around 3/4 months he started screaming every time I put him in and the ENTIRE car ride. I finally realized the head rest squeezes his head so tight that one it bends his ears forward and two he can’t turn his head at all.

After choosing to abandon use of this car seat I put him in a different one and it’s like a completely different car experience he is happy as can be no more screaming. I’m upset because I usually use the infant car seat up to the weight restriction and I was forced to upgrade at 5 months old for the sake of my baby’s happiness and comfort.

We purchased this for our baby in October, he was due in December. It was great at first but really it only lasted 4 months as the padding around the head isn’t removable or adjustable it folds his ears forward and keeps them bent.

You can fold ears back but any moventment causes them to fold again. But that’s not the biggest issue we were putting carseat in car and we didn’t hear all the clicks so we readjusted and tried again, still no clicks.

We inspected carseat and somehow one of the safety clicks on the carseat was missing so now it’s not longer safe to use. $269 for 4 months of use is ridiculous. Highly recommend choosing another carseat! I reached out to the company and haven’t heard anything back.

So disappointing.

I purchased the SecureMax Infant Car Seat with SensorSafe + SafeZone Load Leg Base in Moonstone Gray. As soon as I opened the package, I was amazed at how easy the setup was. Everything was assembled in the box—I just needed to install the car seat base into my vehicle and the car seat clicked right in.

The material on this car seat has a luxury feel to it. The newborn insert also feels very comfortable. The base is very sturdy and I love the leg as it makes the installation feel even more secure for my little one.

Another plus is this car seat also clicks right into my Evenflo Gold Otto Self-Folding Stroller and also matches the fabric and color. Overall, I love everything about it!.

Just received my car seat and so far I am impressed with the weight and the quality of the materials. Finished reading the manual and it all is so well defined. My only concern is the instructions for the sensors are are vague, hopefully once I sync with the app it will make more sense.

All the research I did prior to purchasing this car seat stated there would be a dongle to plug into the vehicle, but my seat is a new configuration without a dongle and has no guidance on how it knows it is in the vehicle or if the vehicle is running.

I mostly bought the sensorsafe for the temperature alerts so the lack of dongle shouldn’t effect that. I will update once babe gets here and I get a chance to really test it out.

The model I have is actually the Snugride 30 and I’m assuming this is the replacement model. I liked my car seat for the first month, as I didn’t really go many places. Now that I’m out and about often(baby is 5 months old), I’m realizing how difficult this is to remove from its base.

It’s aggravating. I have woken my baby from his sleep, which it’s already difficult to get him to nap, every time I try to get this out of the base. I have had other Graco car seats that have not given me this much trouble in removing from the base.

Do not recommend.

I bought this for my baby who is currently 5 months old. The installation is easy which is nice. But I can’t tighten the straps easily to fit him properly (when he’s in the car seat). It is not a fun thing to use all your strength to tighten straps after just giving birth.

I even have to step on the car seat and use my whole body to pull the strap to tighten it. i have checked multiple times to see if maybe I installed the straps wrong but I have not. Not very happy overall.

We had this seat on our registry and received it before our baby was born. Installation was simple, following the instructions and when our baby was born it was a great fit. When my baby was 11 days old we were in an car accident that resulted in all air bags being deployed and our car totaled.

Our baby was perfectly safe in her Snugride carseat and unaffected by the crash. She was unharmed and calm. I trust this seat to keep her safe because of that experience and am buying it again to replace the one that was in the crash.

I would absolutely recommend this seat to any parent looking for a safe, affordable carseat!.

I purchased this infant seat for my second child, and I wish I had it for my first! I think you would be hard pressed to find a better car seat in this price category (especially if purchased with an Amazon Prime registry discount).

I’ll just say that with our first we used the seat and base that came with our graco stroller travel system, and it was a pain to use. The base did not adjust, so we had to use a pool noodle underneath one side.

The straps did not have the front pull to tighten and had to be manually adjusted in the back (for each time we were putting our son in and out of the seat!). The infant insert was useless and we used rolled up blankets around his head instead.

The handle required both hands to adjust. We still used it until we upgraded to a convertible seat around 9-10 months, but it was annoying every time. This time around I was determined to get something nicer.

This seat is the opposite of all those things and more! The handle requires one hand to raise and lower, the straps loosen and tighten with ease, the fabric itself is comfortable and supportive, and the base is adjustable to get the seat perfectly level.

The canopy is also lovely and makes this seat look high end. It works with our old stroller too, which is a plus! I guess I didn’t know what we were missing out on before. I scoped out a lot of infant seats before I purchased this one, and hands down, for the price point, this is a fantastic choice and I am very happy.

This car seat is just as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures! We also like the all-weather boot and the large sunshade. Unfortunately, though, it is very difficult to get into and out of the car seat base.

We have to push on all four corners of the seat to get it to click in completely every single time we put it in our car. Definitely makes me stress about how safe it is sometimes. When removing the car seat from the base, it takes a lot of force on the handle to get it to disengage, sometimes I have to use two hands.

We originally hoped it was just stiff and these problems would work themselves out, but even after a month of use nothing had improved. We then hoped it was just a defect with the car seat we received, but I reached out to Graco 4 weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything back.

For how much money this car seat costs, we expected it to be the best we’ve ever had. In reality, the much cheaper Evenflo car seats we’ve used with our other kids worked much more smoothly and we are very disappointed.

I have the cheaper graco seat that I got second hand and bought this one so that we would have an extra. I wish I had never bought it, it is that bad. I am only keeping because I know a used car seat will just go in the landfill.

Here are my complaints: The unlatch handle on the back of the seat is extremely difficult to undo, and it’s nearly impossible with the shade down. The auto adjusting shoulder/head piece does not move smoothly so it’s easy to miss your target setting.

The strap to quick tighten the harness is so hard to pull you need to use both hands. The outside latches of this seat do not securely hook onto adapting components, leaving certain click connect products with an insufficient latch (not an issue with car seat base, only strollers).

Only pro is the built in net and no re-thread harness. But somehow this car seat is so bad it is worse than the cheaper model. It’s so bad it makes me want to never buy graco again.

I think this is at least the 5th infant car seat I’ve used, and it’s by far my favorite. I appreciate the added safety of the anti-rebound bar to further stabilize the seat in the event of an accident.

I worried that with that feature the base would not fit in our car, but it went in, no problem – as easily as any other base I’ve installed. So it seems like a no-brainer to have that added safety with no extra effort.

There are other upgrades that make me feel like this car seat is so fancy, in addition to being practical & sturdy. My two favorite features are the one-hand adjustable handle and the easily adjustable harness.

With every other infant seat I’ve used, the handle requires two hands to adjust. It’s a minor hassle, but a hassle nonetheless – especially when you’re trying to get multiple kids/things out the door.

Also with all our other infant seats, I had to adjust the harness by threading it through varied slots on the frame. It’s always a pain, because you have to guess which slot to thread the shoulder straps, and then test it out with the baby inside.

And then potentially readjust (by taking baby out and unthreading/re-threading, and then re-testing baby). Again, it’s not a huge hassle, BUT it’s something you have to take time to do, ideally when you’re not scrambling to get out the door.

And if you have more than one kid, or a job to get to, or any place to go with a time commitment, you’ll appreciate the benefit of having a car seat that you can adjust immediately, with the child resting in it.

Other features I appreciate are the upscale-looking (and feeling) padding, the large sunshade that extends quietly, and the compatibility of the seat with the Graco click Connect system. We have several click Connect bases in various cars.

This seat fits in those. It also clicks into a Graco travel system stroller I got 5 years ago (shown in photos), and well as a Graco double stroller I got last year. I’m definitely a fan! Many thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for gifting me this in exchange for my honest review.

The car seat is easy to fit into the car. It’s a great size for smaller babies and as they grow you can remove cushion. Fits perfectly into our uppababy pram. Just wish the car isofix bases were universal to use, we have a maxi cosi one and it doesn’t fit onto this (should have researched more).

The sun shade on this product is great!.

We love this brand, this car seat and this color! We had the hardest time finding this car seat in this color in the US (non-existent)! This car seat gives us the confidence that our newborn baby will be safe and secure.

This color is exactly what we wanted. And Natural Baby Shower was phenomenal to purchase through. We are generally hesitant to buy from outside of the US because it is harder to ensure the supplier is trustworthy, for shipping costs and shipping time.

Natural Baby Shower put us to ease and we received the product faster than some of our shipments from the US! We are very happy!.

The quality compared to another big name brand car seat we were meant is really good. We bought to go with our UPPAbaby vista V2. It’s a good balance between feeling very sturdy and not too cumbersome.

Great Car seat, love that it is made in Ontario, lower weight of the car-seat does not compromise the safety; however, the colours of the LIING are all dark and remind me of mourning. Clek is not the only stroller/car seat company guilty of this- not everyone and not all consumers like mourning looking strollers or car seats- Bugaboo has turned me off- into getting a Vista because the colours they have available in Canada are all dark.

So despite the fact that my Peg Perego is heavier- I still love the style/colour of it 100 times more then I do my LIING. Clek if your convertible seats can be blue or pink- I am sure you can make baby car seats with bright colours as well.

I only recommend the LING based on its safety features, that it is Canadian made and lightweight but do not recommend nor like the colours it comes in.

This carseat is great overall and I am glad I bought it. My two biggest complaints: 1) The car handle has to stay up when the carseat is in the car, I’m assuming for some safety feature, but it makes taking a baby in and out a pain.

After 4 months old, my baby wanted to be lifted out of the carseat when the car stopped and not being able to push these down while I got him out makes the process a lot harder. 2) The straps should have some hook or slot on the sides to hold them up when you are putting baby in carseat.

This way when you put baby in you don’t have to then try and fish the straps from behind them. Overall, I am very happy with it though and highly recommend.

This is a really fantastic seat. Safety is high, comfort is great; tiny newborns may be slightly pinched by the straps but there are good workarounds. However! Clek purposefully moved the warning labels away from the head area in the 2020 version of this seat.

We received one that still had them there. Big pain to have to cover them up so baby’s head doesn’t rub against them.

I hate putting my grandson in this tight contraption almost as much as he hates being put into it. He is small for his age and the straps are tight around his small frame. They cut into his shoulders, waist and between his legs.

I’ve searched for ways to loosen the straps further to no avail. Please note, I am a retired engineer. I can take this seat apart and reassemble it. But I cannot make it more comfortable for my grandchild.

I’m told told it seats children up to 35 pounds. I don’t see how. It pains me to seat my grandchild in it as he cries when I try to put him in it, when the seat is already in the car. Instead, I out the seat in the ground outside the car strap him in, then lift the extremely heavy seat into the car.

Mire expensive dies not always mean more. It’s a lesson the young take a long tome to learn. This grandma will hut her own car seat that is easier to manage an doesn’t put baby in a vice grip.

Absolutely adore our Uppababy Mesa! Our son arrived early and was very tiny. We never had any issue with sizing. He fit right in from day one. The car seat itself is pretty light in comparison to other brands and is very durable.

It is soooo easy to wipe clean and is adaptable to most stroller systems. We opted to buy the adapters for the older Uppababy stroller system and it works great! I love the seat base feature and how simple it is to use.

For the seat base you remove the seat using the lever on the back and for the stroller the button on the top. This is something so small but so practical. You don’t even have to think of your hand positioning it just works really well! 10/10 would recommend to everyone we know!.

Pros : easy to use with the uppababy vista stroller, car seat base is nice and can also be used with seatbelts if in an older car | Cons: the canopy is the worst, I’m surprised there aren’t more complaints.

Canopy is a very thin material and doesn’t even cover half the car seat. No matter what my baby’s eyes/body are constantly exposed to the sun. My baby also seems to sweat a lot in the car seat as well.

You can’t have the shade the whole way up if you are carrying the car seat. The seat is heavy it’s almost 10 lbs so as your baby gets more heavy it will be challenging to carry…. I love the stroller and how easy the items are to use together but the canopy would prevent me from purchasing.
