20 Best Essential Oils For Face Serum (2023 Updated)

Having been a Decleor fan for many, many years, I was absolutely mortified when I learned that Decleor had retired the fabulous Hydra Floral in favour of Neroli Bigarade. Hydra Floral used to be a beautifully rich, thick night cream, smelled divine & was exactly what my very dry skin needed.

I’d tried everything under the sun, no matter of cost, and Hydra Floral was an absolute lifesaver for me and my ultimate go-to remedy. So, you can imagine how disappointed I am now that Decleor have decided to abandon (they called it a replacement) that beautiful cream and turn it into a light, almost lotion-like, pot of ‘averageness.

’ It is now more suitable as a basic ‘light day’ cream and should be called just that. It no longer has that beautiful Neroli smell as HF did & more importantly, it is NOT rich, despite what the packaging says, and I am now back to square one & in search of another decent night time moisturiser.

There are much cheaper moisturisers out on the high street that are better than this & for a fraction of the cost! I’m sure a lot of people feel the same as me, having looked at some of the reviews on other Decleor products on here.

So Decleor, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back Hydra Floral. Neroli Bigarade is most definitely NOT a replacement for my beloved Hydra Floral!!!!.

Super impressed with this serum. I use it with my night routine as it has an oily texture which I find very nourishing although perhaps a little too oily for the day. The smell is subtle and pleasant.

I’ve been using for a little over a week now and I can definitely see and feel an improvement in my skin. I can’t say it diminishes the fine lines yet but it certainly looks plumper and healthier. I will buy again.

I have to disagree with the other reviewers in that I think this cream is a huge improvement on Hydra Floral, which for me was too light and not substantial or nourishing enough for my skin. I would have to re-apply Hydra Floral multiple times in a day or layer it with a rich serum or another cream even but this new cream has a fine consistency (in that it is not thick or gloopy but you can hold the jar upside down and it won’t run out), feels light and quickly absorbed by the skin, but substantial on the skin so that my skin feels comforted and adequately nourished (I have normal to dry skin).

There’s no “roll-off” if you apply make up over it (which is a big bug-bear for me with other brands) and my skin doesn’t feel tight throughout the day, which I love. I can touch my skin hours after first application and it feels “peachy”, not dehydrated.

I think this is a winner, and a big improvement on Hydra Floral, and I will definitely buy again. Love it!.

I’ve been on a mission to try and convert to clean skin are produce while using up what I currently have in my vanity and Ósea has been on my radar for quite some time. I love face oils and actually find them to work my oily acne prone skin.

I get hormonal and stress acne but find that oils help combat the dry skin from potential interactions with anti acne treatments. The biggest con is the price. $36 for a small rollerball facial oil that is best meant for travel or to throw in your purse or makeup bag is too much.

However, since the brand is very clean, and committed to making eco friendly and conscious skincare, I can see why it would cost that much. First off, smells amazing! Reminds me of eucalyptus but ingredients are geranium, macadamia, jojoba, and lavender so the scent is very relaxing when used at night (like I do).

It rolls on a good amount of oil and blends nicely into my skin, and I’ve even used it with my Gua Shua tool. It’s basically fatty acids for skin which helps plump and smooth fine lines, which at 38, I’m all about.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this product in terms of ingredients, scent, quality, and benefits. I can’t say it helps with long term reduction of fine lines because I haven’t used it that long but can say my skin does have a nice glow when I use this.

However, I’m still on the fence about buying again based on the size and price 🤔.

I can’t even tell you how much of a game changer this one product has been for my skin. I’m obsessed with all of their products but this one in particular is the only product you would ever need. All moisturizers clog and congest my pores.

This is like a barrier that protects my pores and keeps them clean and regulated. It has changed my coloring. This one product basically saved my hypersensitive skin for the past 3 years. I never let myself run out.

Dry skin is my issue. I think it’s versatile for any skin type. Obsessed! Hands down my favorite product ever.

This blend of oils can be used in many ways – to moisturize hair, skin, nails, etc. , but I especially love to use one drop added to my very expensive serum. By mixing in a drop of the Aura Cacia to my expensive serum, it makes for a silky mixture and not only increases the content but enables the new silky mixture to spread easily over face and neck.

And adds moisture (I have dry skin). Many serums are silky, but the one I’ve been using and like because of the results is not.

I absolutely love aura cacia products. This one is a great night time option. It also smells absolutely amazing. Usually fragranted oils would make my skin break out but the ingredients are anything but harsh.

It is also super inexpensive.

I’ve used this for 7 years now. It is one of the best oils for any skin type. It helped calm my severe acnes years ago and healed my hyperpigmentation. I use it about 3x a week in combination with 1-2 other dry oils.

This is by far my favorite oil ever.

I bought this on a whim because what I was looking for was not available. These serums are essential oils, and I have read some not so good things about essential oils, but I still use these serums. I use the moisturizer and clear face oils twice a day, mixed with the glow serum in the morning and the anti age serum at night, as well as the night eye serum at night.

The moisturizing serum I feel does add an extra layer of moisturization, which in these northern winters is appreciated. I cannot really tell if the clear face serum is doing anything, it is meant more as a spot treatment but I use it for preventive measures, though I still get a pimple here and there.

My laugh lines have practically vanished, but I am also using the olay regenerist micro sculpting cream so both of those could be helping. The glow serum does give my skin a nice brightness to it. The lip plumping serum is the only one I use sparingly, as it does burn quite a bit due to the cinnamon oil, it’s like rubbing red hot gum on your lips but I have heard that applying chapstick beforehand lessens that burning tingle.

Overall I am happy I have it and will continue to use it, but when I use it all I will probably look for some different serums to try.

I have been using these face serums for about a month now and literally my skin has never looked better. I’m a huge skincare buff. I normally use products from drunk Elephant and Cerave but so far this has replaced that.

I put a drop of each serum needed into my palm after cleansing and than just pay it in on my face and neck. Instantly my skin looks better. The only problem I have with these serums is that they have a bit of a smell that is unpleasant.

It’s mostly the glow one. But it’s all understandable because they are natural but ugh that glow one smells rough 😂.

I love the products from this company! Whether I am using the essential oils in a diffuser or on my body they are of excellent quality. For my most recent order, I was excited to find out they now offer oils specifically for the face!.

Very calming to skin really love it will def repurchase. I took one star off because it doesn’t rinse off completely on its own and my skin is super sensitive so I don’t double cleanse. If u don’t wear much makeup u won’t have this issue.

If u do u might have to rinse it off with a flannel for any residue or double cleane. I prefer not to double cleanse as I find my skin is way more calm. Again will repurchase because I have seen a definite calmness and added moisture to my skin.

This was after trying so many balms and oil. I realized how much the rigjt cleanser just changed my skin for the better.

Have been using AA moisturisers for years. Unlike some other products out there, this really does work on another level. Others I ve tried just sit on the skin surface. But this really does feel good for my skin.

It s nourishing, gorgeous aroma, fully absorbs, not greasy. And my make-up goes on really nicely afterwards. A perfect day and night moisturiser!.

I’ve been using the Refresh cleanser, Calm toner, and Glow serum twice a day for about three weeks now. I was admittedly skeptical about all the good reviews on this site because I’ve tried so many different brands/products over the years that never quite panned out.

First, the serum itself: It has a very light, almost imperceptible scent (I have to have the serum directly under my nose to smell anything). It absorbs very quickly into my skin, and true to the advertising, it leaves my skin with a healthy-looking glow.

Of all the Three Ships products I started using, I was the most skeptical about this one because I’ve struggled with oily skin for over a decade now and I’ve tried oil-based serums from other companies that made similar promises and at best, just didn’t do anything (at worst, I looked like I dunked my face in olive oil or something).

I’ve tried powders to keep my face matte and those would last for all of an hour or two; I would carry my powder or blotting sheets with me in my purse, keep them on my desk at work, and constantly be touching up my skin throughout the workday just so I didn’t look like a mess.

I still looked greasy through my foundation. After I showered, my face would still look and feel oily. I felt very self-conscious about my skin, especially when I’d have impromptu meetings at work and didn’t have time to touch up or when I went out with friends/on dates.

I purchased this after using the radiance cream for a few months. I thought since I loved the moisturizer I should try a serum with my next order. I originally bought the boost serum but had to wait to use it as I am breastfeeding and the boost serum has high amounts of vitamin A which is not safe for baby.

So I figured until then I will try glow. Anyhow I am acne prone with normalish skin – not too dry, not too oily. I have had my acne controlled for years by good diet and always using what I think are good products.

I’ve learned with fighting acne less is always more. Since glow is the only new thing in my life I can only blame this product on my very bad break outs!! Not a little pimple here and there (I’d be okay with that), but quite a few big painful zits.

Forhead, around my mouth, a couple on my jaw line and chin. I have been using the serum once a day (night time) by itself for three weeks now and yesterday was officially my last day. I tried to “wait and see”.

Big mistake. It also caused my skin to have dry patches around my eyes and other spots on my face. I was living without putting any makeup on my face but now I can’t leave my house without it Thank God for Mask wearing lol.

anyhow I will continue to use Radiance morning and night with no serum- until I am ready to try the boost serum I have at home already. Hopefully it won’t ruin my skin.

As I near the end of my second bottle of this product I feel like I am ready to review. I must say, this has changed my skin for the better. I used to have HORRENDOUSLY oily skin (like if I wanted to rub my face on a pan, I would have had enough grease to fry potatoes!) and it would be embarrassing and so annoying as my make up would move, and my skin was constantly in break out (then you add hormones and.

you’re done for!). This has helped to balance my skin that I no longer feel like I am ready to cook at the end of the day, but still happily moisturised and ready to go. This is also the ideal oil for a Gua Sha to help your skin! HIGHLY recommend.

If you love rose scents, this will make you happy. If you are not a massive love of rose scents, the frankincense in this might be enough to spice up the smell and make you like it. Either way, this smells beautiful.

It is lovely medium oil – not one of those dry oils, but not a super oily oil either. It has enough slip for a little bit of massage, but does sink in to skin after.

Absolutely love this product and the smell is divine! Results are really good and skin feels great after overnight application. I’d love to see more products with this smell profile – it’s so relaxing and mindful.

I received the trial version of this oil in the recent goody bag and have been using it for a while. While I personally like the smell of this oil, I have to wonder about its efficacy – a nice smell is not a reason to buy skincare products.

It’s basically a bunch of potentially irritant essential oils in a pomegranate oil base, so if you have sensitive/allergy-prone skin, this will not be the best product for you, given that essential oils are very concentrated and they agitate the skin.

It might feel good on the skin and smell amazing, but it may lead to skin sensitivity in the long run. I also find the “Why it’s cult” description rather misleading – essential oils do not carry vitamins (they are expelled during the process), especially not Vitamin C which is water-soluble.

Might be appropriate for insensitive, dry skin as an occasional treat but I wouldn’t use it daily – or at all. I appreciate the effort and wholesomeness of the company but if you’re looking for a skincare miracle, this is probably not it.

This face oil is EVERYTHING it says it is!! Being African American, my skin gets really dark when I have blemishes, which look very ugly! After reading about Uma Oils on the Goop website I decided to give them a try.

AMAZING was the result. Ultimate Brightening Oil transformed my skin in two days!!! I was noticeably brighter, dark spots significantly lighter, my face was soft and supple which made me look younger! This product is worth every penny, and a couple of drops are sufficient for your entire face and neck, so this will last approximately 2 1/2 – 3 months.

The smell is intoxicating but not overpowering. You will want to use so much more then you need just for that wonderful smell! Don’t hesitate purchasing, this is a product that delivers!.

I use it every evening after my facial cleanser and moisturizer. I only need 5 or 6 drops to cover my entire face. I use the rosehip seed oil after this one and then massage both into my skin with a cold jade roller.

Not only has this oil helped regulate the excess oil on my face (I have combination skin, so my T-zone gets oily), it has helped clear up my acne. Backuchiol is gentler than retinol. I have sensitive skin that doesn’t play nice with retinol.

It’s too harsh for me. But this oil doesn’t harm it one bit. I love that, and I love that it has linoleic acid in it, as well. I’ve been reading up on linoleic acid, and there is research that suggests that those who don’t have enough of it in their skin are the ones who struggle with acne.

Like I said, this oil has helped clear up my acne, so I have no trouble believing that research. It has even lessened the severity of my hormonal acne that happens before my period each month. I didn’t think anything could do that! I’m so glad it’s a part of my skincare routine because I feel like I’m treating the root cause of my acne instead of just the symptom of it.

And who doesn’t like giving their skin the nutrients it needs to age gracefully? This oil and the rosehip seed oil have become permanent parts of my skincare routine. Everyone should give this oil a try, especially if you’re an acne sufferer.

Really hated this product! It has so many good reviews on good molecules website so I had high hopes. The first night I applied it I loved it! It immediately plumped my skin and absorbed nicely. Then when I used it the next few nights I noticed my pores looking super clogged and my skin was dryer than usual.

Looked up chia seed oil and it has a comedogenic rating of 3. So I started using on my forehead only. After 3 months of on and off use my lines on my forehead that were very faint when starting, now look deeper.

This did not work for me and actually made my skin dryer for some reason. The bottle is very tiny and is annoying to use dropper at times because it’s so small. After 3 months there’s still half the bottle left though.

It smells very earthy like chia seeds, which I don’t mind. Overall would not recommend if you have larger pores.

my skin situation: i’m 38 with lines making themselves quite comfortable across my forehead and slightly coming in around my marionette area. i’m white with some sun spots and increased freckling. my skin is oily with noticeable but not large pores, and i am prone to occasional break outs- well, i used to be.

i only use this product at night, as it definitely does leave my skin a little shinier than i want during the day. that being said, since starting to use it nightly, my skin is so much smoother, brighter, plumper, and more hydrated.

I’m obviously a little late in finding out about Pixie by Petra. Who is she? I’ll Google her in a minute haha. Im obsessed with everything ROSE so the second I saw this I HAD to have it!! I wonder if it comparable to ? Anyway, I love them both.

Like it’s been said, the smell is perfect not too strong. it feels incredible. I highly recommend and am so glad I finally found out about Pixie!!.

I thought this would be lovely but I’m really not keen! It smells lovely and citrusy but it’s so thick! I almost felt like I was spreading lard. Which is weird as it’s quite runny. I actually had to use a towel to remove some product as it was so thick on the skin! A little goes a very very long way! My skin does feel a lot softer from use! For a good hour after my skin looked very greasy! Maybe good to use at night!.

This product is meant to improve the appearance of cellulite by smoothing the appearance of dimpling. It is also supposed to improve water retention in the skin. This product is extremely expensive, especially if you are treating a large area of the body.

Unfortunately, I did not see any significant results that lasted. The formula of this product hydrated the skin, but it did nothing to improve the appearance of cellulite, even very mild cellulite. It also did not alter areas affected by water retention.

I suggest you save your money. This product does not make any difference.

This is absolutely fabulous for my face. I love the smell, it’s fabulous, a discreet smell of rose! I use it at night and in the morning, my face looks better.

For years i read of Vintner’s Daughter and how it was a cult beauty fav of the celebs. To be honest, the price always scared me off- I worried the reviews were all hype but oh, was I wrong! I believe I’m on my 6th bottle (I average 2 bottles a year) so that should give you reassurance that a little goes a long long way (5-6 drops in AM and 5-6 drops in PM) making the price tolerable in my opinion! I absolutely love Vintner’s Daughter! I use both the essence and the serum which are packed with so much good stuff and has simplified my routine by cutting down on additional products. The serum works great on my sensitive combo skin and I find overall that a little goes a long way.

Even though there are essential oils, it balances my hydration, has helped to eliminate my hormonal skin breakouts, and leaves my radiant. Strongest scent is geranium; the essential oils don’t seem to aggregate my sensitive skin like some other products have.

The combo of Vintner’s two products (essence and serum) have consistently been my repeat, holy grail products over the past couple years!.
